Attention to Detail

Attention to detail is on a 1 - 10 scale, and is scored based on the rate, and severity, of errors committed by the clinic according to the patients.

For example, a severe error might be failing to inform a patient of critical information, while a small error might be failing to call a patient with results.

CDC Success Rates

This is the most recent data from the CDC. The CDC cautions that it should not be used to compare doctors and clinics. This data represents the outcomes of IVF cycles when using a person's own eggs.

For more information please see our FAQs.

Where you see a “?” on the chart, a clinic has done fewer than 20 cycles in this category and age range, so the CDC says showing percentages from this small data set would be misleading and unreliable.

Dr. Johnson cares about his patients and wants them to succeed in their family planning goals. He is on the roller-coaster ride of fertility alongside his patients...does everything he can to help...explains test results thoroughly and offers recommendations for next steps...We did our retrieval, then did an ERA test to check the best timing of the transfer before doing an FET to rule out any potential chromosomal issues with the embryo.
The clinic is busy but I see that as a strength of the work done by the team at ARI. Their growth shows the success they have at helping families achieve their family planning goals. The team is small, which helps you get to know the staff you work with at every stage of your fertility journey...[nurses] are just as invested in your journey as the doctor is and want the best for you. They are communicative, optimistic, and caring.

Dr. Johnson cares about his patients and wants them to succeed in their family planning goals. He is on the roller-coaster ride of fertility alongside his patients.
Describe the protocols Mark Johnson used in your cycles at Arizona Reproductive Institute and their degree of success.
We started with timed intercourse. This consisted of ovidrel trigger shots. After another miscarriage, we decided to pursue IVF. We did our retrieval, then did an ERA test to check the best timing of the transfer before doing an FET to rule out any potential chromosomal issues with the embryo. Our IVF cycle included: Menopur, Follistim, Cetrotide, Omnitrope, and Leuprolide (maybe one or two other meds). Our FET cycle included: Progesterone in oil and suppositories and Estradiol.
Describe your experience with the nursing staff at Arizona Reproductive Institute.
The nursing team at ARI is top-notch. They are just as invested in your journey as the doctor is and want the best for you. They are communicative, optimistic, and caring.

Monitoring appointments tended to be in the mornings with little wait times. Usually you go in and you're the only patient in the waiting room and quickly go to the exam room.

Approximately $20-23k per IVF cycle
Describe Mark Johnson's approach to eSET (elective single embryo transfer) vs. multiple embryo transfer at Arizona Reproductive Institute.

Success w/ Doc Too early to know
[Dr. Mark Johnson] only saw me after I already had my egg retrieval and two transfers. By the time I saw him I had already decided I wanted an ERS. He performed it and results were pre-receptive. He then did a transfer for me and was very thorough with cleaning cervix and exiquiting the transfer...[ESET Approach] I have been transfering two embryos for all three transfers because I have untested eggs.
I have worked with the one clinic my [Arizona Reproductive Institute] whole proccess but I've seen three different doctors due to them leaving....They are great with communication and scheduling. They are always very nice and informative. They also help figure out pricing before all procedures which really helps when you're self pay like we are. The team is really nice to work with and I would recommend them to my friends.
How was your experience with Mark Johnson at Arizona Reproductive Institute?
It's honestly too early to tell. He did my ERA and a failed transfer. Due to Covid-19 and me saving up funds for next transfer I haven't seen him since my failed transfer. I wish I would have had one doctor my whole journey but that just wasnt in the cards.
What's one piece of advice would you give a prospective patient of Mark Johnson at Arizona Reproductive Institute?
I dont have any advice in regards to him specifically but I can say in general, have your questions written down because when you're actually there you want to get all your questions answered.
During treatment, were you treated like a number or a human with Mark Johnson at Arizona Reproductive Institute?
I have worked with the one clinic my whole proccess but I've seen three different doctors due to them leaving. I am now with Dr. Johnson and he performed my ERA and found I'm receptive. Due to my insurance not covering infertility, the clinic is very upfront and open about pricing which I like. I've now done three transfers and and ERA and they have been very understanding with me.
Describe the protocols Mark Johnson used in your cycles at Arizona Reproductive Institute and their degree of success.
Again, he only saw me after I already had my egg retrieval and two transfers. By the time I saw him I had already decided I wanted an ERS. He performed it and results were pre-receptive. He then did a transfer for me and was very thorough with cleaning cervix and exiquiting the transfer.
Describe your experience with your nurse at Arizona Reproductive Institute.
They are all very sweet and make you feel very comfortable.

Describe the costs associated with your care under Mark Johnson at Arizona Reproductive Institute.
For egg retrieval, ERA, 3 transfer, and medication we spent roughly $24,000.00 so far, out of pocket due to not having fertility insurance.
Describe Mark Johnson's approach to eSET (elective single embryo transfer) vs. multiple embryo transfer at Arizona Reproductive Institute.
I have been transfering two embryos for all three transfers because I have untested eggs.

I can't sing her [Dr. Christine Mansfield] praises enough! She is just a wonderful person, she loves what she does, cares about you as the patient, about your partner too. She takes her time with answering questions, doesn't rush you. Truly listens to you. We wanted to try ovulation induction (timed intercourse and IUIs) before going to IVF and she gave us statistics and that's what we did. We ultimately did IVF with PGS testing. She was SO happy when there was good news, every early OB visit she was just so excited to see our little embaby on ultrasound.
The MAs and RNs [at ARI] were all very nice, caring and responsive to questions via phone and the portal. They also would sympathize with you if you received bad news or celebrate with you when there was good news. I remember getting hugs and high fives when my PGS results showed 6 normal embryos. And hugs when I cried with bad news. I truly miss the care I received while at ARI. They spoiled me, now with regular OB things are way different.

We graduated to a regular OB and I miss Dr Mansfield dearly.
What's one piece of advice would you give a prospective patient of Christine Mansfield at Arizona Reproductive Institute?
I wish I had called sooner. I wasted 6 cycles with an OB and I wasn't ovulating. He didnt check for follicles or do anything like HSG to check tubes or more than rx pills and order labs. And his bedside manner sucked.
During treatment, were you treated like a number or a human with Christine Mansfield at Arizona Reproductive Institute?
I was greeted warmly by name, staff would ask how I was doing and actually care. Dr. Mansfield is very sweet, warm and caring. She celebrates good news with you and sympathizes with you if bad news. I felt like a VIP, like my time was important, like my questions weren't stupid, like I could trust her and her staff completely.
Describe the protocols Christine Mansfield used in your cycles at Arizona Reproductive Institute and their degree of success.
3 rounds femara 5mg with trigger shot and timed intercourse, no pregnancies 3 rounds femara 5mg with trigger shot and IUI, no preg. IVF stims with gonal-f 300mg, menopur 150mg, cetrotide to prevent early ovulation. Retrieved 28 eggs, 22 mature, 17 fertilized, 6 blastocysts tested and only one normal. 2nd round same protocol plus human growth hormone omnitrope for egg quality. 34 eggs retrieved, 31 mature, 25 fertilized, 13 blastocysts tested and 6 normal! 1st transfer successful, currently 13 weeks pregnant with a baby girl.

Describe your experience with Arizona Reproductive Institute.
Beautiful facility, clean, organized and efficient. Rarely long wait times, if delayed, you're told how long the wait will be and they apologize. Office manager is helpful and available for billing questions. Information is verbally given as well as printed or sent to portal.
Describe your experience with your monitoring appointments at Arizona Reproductive Institute.
They worked with my schedule and availabilities. I was told what day I needed to go, but the time was flexible.
Describe the costs associated with your care under Christine Mansfield at Arizona Reproductive Institute.
$8000 for egg retrieval, $5500 for up to 8 embryos PGS testing. $2900 transfer.
Describe Christine Mansfield's approach to eSET (elective single embryo transfer) vs. multiple embryo transfer at Arizona Reproductive Institute.
Due to my age 36, and weight, she recommended 1 embryo at a time. Also since they were PGS tested. But it was ultimately up to me.

Dr. Mansfield is so wonderful. She is always happy to see you and makes you feel welcome. Her positive but realistic attitude helped to normalize this whole infertility situation for me... IVF antagonist protocol - Gonal-f 300 and menopur 150, cetrotide and HCG trigger. She chose HCG trigger instead of lupron as I was not responding as well as she hoped I think on US and labs. She wanted to give them a chance to mature. I did not respond as well as expected given my baseline labs and age. Only 7 eggs retrieved, 2 mature, neither fertilized with ICSI.
[Arizona Reproductive Institute has] -Easy to schedule appts, I had to wait a few weeks to get in to see her initially but after that my work up was very quick. -Friendly staff - everyone from the front reception to the financial counselor was fantastic. So supportive and welcoming. -Good online portal... I got to interact with all of the IVF nurses. They were all really nice and got back to me same day with questions. Most of the IVF nurses here have gone through treatment themselves, so you feel that they can relate to you

Don’t be afraid to ask her questions because she is a wealth of knowledge and will answer all of them!
During treatment, were you treated like a number or a human with Christine Mansfield at Arizona Reproductive Institute?
Dr. Mansfield was always so kind and happy to see me. I felt that she genuinely cared about what my husband and I were going through. She explained every test and procedure so we would understand, and never rushed through anything. She was so compassionate on retrieval day. She could tell I was nervous and held my hand through the IV start and getting put to sleep. She made me feel so at ease. She is an angel!

I was very fortunate to have insurance cover part of my cost, so I had to pay for my out of pocket max. I also have to pay out of pocket for PGS ($5500 for 8 embryos) and for the cryopreservation.
Describe Christine Mansfield's approach to eSET (elective single embryo transfer) vs. multiple embryo transfer at Arizona Reproductive Institute.
She is in favor of eSET given my age but was not completely opposed to multiple if needed

Dr. Mansfield’s bedside manner has been amazing....When I had both of my IUIs the protocol was basically the same....The moment I met her, I knew she was passionate about her job, making me feel comfortable and also just giving me hope...She recommends that we be aggressive and transfer 2 each time to better our chances She’s very kind and optomistic. After our loss, she was so understanding
I’ve had a hard time with the financial portion. It could be due to miscommunication with insurances as well. Just make sure all of your insurance stuff is in line and you understand all of it...They’re [Vivere Arizona] all nothing short of amazing. Leah has come in on her day off to be there for my transfer. If I’m there for a procedure, they stop in the room just to check on me even if they’re not helping in the OR. Frances has called me crying with bad news. They’re all so caring and compassionate and this is what I love the most about being there. They make you truly feel like you’re family.
How was your experience with Christine Mansfield at Arizona Reproductive Institute?
My OBGYN sent me to her for an HSG after I had a consult with a different RE in town. The second I met her during my HSG I knew I needed to make the switch. Infertility has been such a hard thing for me. The feeling of the unknown is the absolute worst part. The moment I met her, I knew she was passionate about her job, making me feel comfortable and also just giving me hope. So ensures me all of the time that this is going to happen for my family. She’s very kind and optomistic. After our loss, she was so understanding and sat with me while I cried. I would recommend her to a friend or family member 100 times over.
What's one piece of advice would you give a prospective patient of Christine Mansfield at Arizona Reproductive Institute?
Buckle up! This could be a long ride.
During treatment, were you treated like a number or a human with Christine Mansfield at Arizona Reproductive Institute?
Dr. Mansfield’s bedside manner has been amazing. My fertility journey has been much longer than I have expected. Unfortunately we suffered a miscarriage after our first embryo transfer. I was completely broken and she was so empathetic. Her and the majority of her staff have been through IVF and they totally sit and cry with you. She is truly an amazing doctor. I was laid off unfortunately from my 16 year job in May of 2018 and have been focused solely on making a baby through science. Being in their office is literally my part time job!
Describe the protocols Christine Mansfield used in your cycles at Arizona Reproductive Institute and their degree of success.
When I had both of my IUIs the protocol was basically the same. Monitor my follicles and trigger shot and then procedure. I had that 2 times. Both were extremely painful for me. We discovered my uterus is basically upside down. We decided after the 2nd IUI failed to Go through with egg retrieval. I was on gonalf, menopur, Cetrotide and hcg. I was able to produce 28 eggs. 19 were mature, 14 fertilized with ICSI and 8 of them made it to day 5/6. Following my retrieval i has surgery to remove polyps in hopes for a successful transfer. In oct of 2018 we transferred 2 embryos. We found out at 6 weeks 3 days that we lost the baby. We decided to PGS test our leftover embryos to hopefully help us with not miscArrying again. We ended up with 4/6 that were normal. 2 boys 2 girls. We transferred 2 in December (failed) and 2 in January (also failed.) so now, we’re back to square 1. We have an appointment with her this Friday to discuss what’s next for us.

We’re still ironing things out from my second cycle. So far it’s beem around $10k

I was seeking treatment from another facility but was not satisfied with the Dr. who preformed my HSG before getting authorization through my insurance then tried to bill me for the service. When I went to Dr. Mansfield she did not make me start over, she allowed me to bring my records and prior treatments already preformed and moved forward with the next step...She is very detailed when explaining the process of IVF. She uses props to demonstrate what she is explaining to you. Dr Mansfield does not rush through her consultation either she takes her time with you so that you leave with understanding.
The clinic [Arizona Reproductive Institute] has a very peaceful setting. When being screened for ultrasounds there are flatscreen tv's on the wall so that you can also see what the doctors are describing to you. The rooms are very spacious and private. Everything is very clean...All of the nursing staff are very compassionate...The nursing staff show you how to apply for financial assistance. They understand the financial part of the treatment is every patients concern
How was your experience with Christine Mansfield at Arizona Reproductive Institute?
Dr Mansfields is a great doctor. I was refered to her by a coworker who had two successful IVF babies by Dr Mansfield the last baby were twin girls. Every visit that I have with Dr Mansfield she is always there. All of the testing is done right in her clinic. I was seeking treatment from another facility but was not satisfied with the Dr. who preformed my HSG before getting authorization through my insurance then tried to bill me for the service. When I went to Dr. Mansfield she did not make me start over, she allowed me to bring my records and prior treatments already preformed and moved forward with the next step. All of the staff at Dr. Mansfields clinic are exceptional. They are dedicated to helping making people with fertility problems parents. I am in process of gathering all the money to start my IVF cycle. There just is no insurance that help cover IVF. Being a full-time employee for our local hospital and having insurance but then finding out there is no help for infertility. I have every work up test that needs to be done complete now its just the financial part.

She [Dr. Christine Mansfield] has a really friendly demeanor and she sincerely seems pleased to see me every time I enter the office...great energy about her...She does her best to do every procedure in the IUI process-- even the ultrasounds. It's rare when she isn't able to be there, and I appreciate the level of care I feel she provides...She makes me feel positive even when I am not a generally positive person. She makes me feel like there is hope for me in my situation.
I think all the nurses [at Arizona Reproductive Institute] are very sweet and they are very upbeat and looking out for you. They all seem very knowledgeable, and if they have problems, they can rely on each other and Dr. Mansfield for help...Each IUI cycle is $1050 plus the costs of medications, which vary. HSG was $400ish...The clinic is very nice and welcoming. They have free coffee and candy as well as free wifi. The waiting room is very large and neat. The parking lot is really only compact car friendly, so people who drive large vehicles be aware you might have difficulty fitting into a slot.

Dr. Mansfield is warm and compassionate. She takes the time to meet with you, explore your options and discuss the pros and cons. If I have concerns or questions Dr. Mansfield has gone out of her way to call me and discuss the process. I’ve gone through multiple iuis, a miscarriage at 11 weeks and a failed ivf cycle. Dr. Mansfield has never given up and has tweaked my protocols each time in hopes of getting a better response.
Clinic [Arizona Reproductive Institute] is prompt and helpful. I feel like everyone in the clinic knows who I am and is rooting for me when I have a good cycle and is sad and empathetic when my cycles were a bust. Dr. Mansfield and Frances (medical asssitant) are phenomenal and a godsend during my miscarriage. Weaknesses- sometimes a bit of a wait and can frequently run late on appointments.... IUIs- 900 IVF- 7k the first round, subsequent rounds 20%discount PGS- 3500 for 4 embryos, 5k for 8 FET- 2500 Meds for IVF- 4-5k (clinic would try and donate meds on occasion)

Dr Mansfield has been great through this experience. I am someone who always wants to know the full details of the situation and she has never held back in involving me in the process. She would trust my intuition and never push procedures that I felt uncomfortable with.... The biggest change from the doctor was a previous was during our IVF we added in testosterone priming because of my eye quality and it drastically improved our results.
The only thing I would tell a new patient is to start at this clinic [Arizona Reproductive Institute]. There are only two other options in Tucson and I’ve been to one of them and it was a horrible experience. Coming to Dr. Mansfield was life-changing even though we still haven’t had any kids throughout this treatment, I would sing her praises from the rooftop any chance I got... I cannot say enough positive things about the nursing staff.
How was your experience with Christine Mansfield at Arizona Reproductive Institute?
Dr Mansfield has been great through this experience. I am someone who always wants to know the full details of the situation and she has never held back in involving me in the process. She would trust my intuition and never push procedures that I felt uncomfortable with. She would have consultations with me just to talk about where we were at in the process and go through details. Additionally when I had a spontaneous pregnancy that happened outside of treatment, she was incredibly attentive and treated it as if we had gotten pregnant with her. That pregnancy did result in a miscarriage and I’m glad she was our doctor at the time because she handled it so well and was so kind.
What's one piece of advice would you give a prospective patient of Christine Mansfield at Arizona Reproductive Institute?
Trust your instincts and ask her questions because she will be very forthcoming and give you all the information but she will not push you into something you don’t want.
During treatment, were you treated like a number or a human with Christine Mansfield at Arizona Reproductive Institute?
Dr Mansfield and her staff are amazing. They know me and details about me and check in regularly.
Describe the protocols Christine Mansfield used in your cycles at Arizona Reproductive Institute and their degree of success.
The biggest change from the doctor was a previous was during our IVF we added in testosterone priming because of my eye quality and it drastically improved our results. We also tried human growth hormone which increased our embryos excess rate.
Describe your experience with the nursing staff at Arizona Reproductive Institute.
I cannot say enough positive things about the nursing staff. They became part of our family during this process and have gone above and beyond their job responsibilities to take care of us emotionally and physically.
Describe your experience with Arizona Reproductive Institute.

Describe the costs associated with your care under Christine Mansfield at Arizona Reproductive Institute.
I was lucky enough to have insurance that covered fertility treatment. Once that ran out the cost associated for a full IVF cycle with no insurance was around 10,000 I believe.
Describe Christine Mansfield's approach to eSET (elective single embryo transfer) vs. multiple embryo transfer at Arizona Reproductive Institute.
We put in two embryos at a time each transfer and she was very forthcoming about the risks of multiples.

I felt like talking with Dr. Mansfield was like talking with a friend. She provided me with comfort and information that I needed to know. When bad news came, she started our appointments with a hug and genuine caring. She educated us on options and the likely course of treatments. Her expectations were conveyed clearly without being overly optimistic which we appreciated.... Microdose lupron flare. Two egg retrievals, 14 mature eggs cycle one, 12 fertlized, 6 blasts, PGS tested all abnormal. Second cycle, 10 eggs, 9 mature, 4 blasts, PGS tested all abnormal.
The nurses are great, but the office [Arizona Reproductive Institute] is not run very well all the time. Often there is some miscommunication, disorganization. You often need to remind them of things and stay on top of your own care.... Disorganized, financial aspects are very disorganized, and they dont always give accurate and consistent information. I had to remind the staff that I was going to be doing a specific protocol or adding a new med. I had to call and ask for labs to be drawn.

I did 2 IVF cycles, both with antagonist protocols. I only got 3 embryos out of my first cycle so she [Dr. Christine Mansfield] upped my doses quite a bit for the second cycle and I tripled the number of embryos. I have endo and an elevated FSH so she felt this was the best approach for me... Dr. Mansfield never made me feel rushed and always ensured each of my questions were answered. She was thorough, incredibly knowledgable on all the latest and greatest techniques, and I fully trusted her throughout the entire process.
The clinic [Arizona Reproductive Institute- Tucson] is great. Dr. Liu (the embryologist) is one of the best and I always felt like I was in excellent I hands. The front desk staff were always on top of my appointments and I never even had to give my name when I checked in. They knew who I was the moment I walked through the door... Everyone at ARI is fully committed to you and your success. They laugh with you, cry with you, and genuinely care about your journey. Dr. Mansfield and her staff have become family to my husband and I.

Dr. Mansfield was generally friendly and seemed competent. I did however feel a little blindsided...I also got bad news during the test (tubal blockage), and really wanted her to stay and explain what that meant. To me, it felt like she rushed out without realizing how upsetting and confusing the news was to me...it seems like the her recommendation (removing one or possible 2 tubes) was more aggressive than necessary...There were a couple of miscommunications
Everyone was kind and remembered who I was....One thing that was a little bit concerning was a lack of coordination between different parts of the organization [Vivere Arizona] My husband had to give blood twice for the same test, which was never run. It was also a little hard to reach someone when I called with a question. That said, during my visits, people were professional and warm....There were a couple of miscommunications, and one bad experience that lead me to get a second opinion and ultimately switch doctors.
How was your experience with Christine Mansfield at Arizona Reproductive Institute?
Dr. Mansfield was generally friendly and seemed competent. I did however feel a little blindsided by one of my tests (the HCG). I didn't know that it was going to be so painful, and afterwards, I didn't know that it was not a cause for concern that I was bleeding. I also got bad news during the test (tubal blockage), and really wanted her to stay and explain what that meant. To me, it felt like she rushed out without realizing how upsetting and confusing the news was to me. I also got a second opinion that was a very different diagnosis and prescribed treatment. Given that I have since gotten pregnant with minimal intervention, it seems like the her recommendation (removing one or possible 2 tubes) was more aggressive than necessary.

Dr. Mansfield is very knowledgeable. She explains things very well and breaks it down to make sure you understand everything. She is positive and hopeful but does not sugar coat things. She is very genuine and you can tell she is vested in you as a patient.... I saw Dr. Mansfield at every single visit. She was always so warm and kind and so his entire staff.... antagonist protocol. 150 of Gonal F and Menopur. Cetrotide and triggered with hcg.
It’s clean. The environment [Arizona Reproductive Institute] is warm and inviting. It doesn’t feel like a clinical setting. The clinic is great with communication. Whenever I called someone always answered the phone. The staff is helpful and friendly.... Leah and Dyan are amazing! They are so kind and compassionate. Communication is excellent. They had no issues communicating outside of normal business hours. They were very helpful with sorting out issues with pharmacies and outside labs. I definitely felt they were vested in my cycle.

She [Dr. Christine Mansfield] was very warm and caring. When it showed up my tubal blockage in both tubes, she was extremely supportive and explained what it meant and made sure I was okay with the news. She then took myself and my husband into her office where she spoke about options, due to the scarring, tubal surgery wasn't an option for us, so she explained about IVF and how pregnancy was still possible for us. Suffering with secondary infertility for 5 years, it was bitter sweet to be able to get an answer.
Absolutely no weaknesses. This clinic [Arizona Reproductive Institute] was amazing and if I had to choose all over again, I'd still choose Dr Mansfield and her team. The clinic is warm, friendly, clean and very professional. They aleays run by ypur insurance to see whats covered and let you know before agreement of any treatment. Arizona reproductive institute is definitely our recommendation for anyone with any fertility needs.

Dr. Mansfield is warm and personable. Give me a hug when she saw me and treated me with a great deal of compassion. I very much would encourage those who are in need to seek out her services. She doesn't just have the technical capacities of a fertility doctor, she has the kindness of an understanding person to go along with it...Egg donation was my only route and she explained it thoroughly.
[Arizona Reproductive Institute is a] Great clinic, great doctor, great staff. They need some help in making sure phone communication is just a touch better. Otherwise, I feel they provide a really excellent experience for those who are seeking to start a family. They are kind and caring...Egg donation /transfer was about $17000...The staff is great, but they are often busy and can't get to the phone or return calls. It is best to email.

Dr Mansfield was willing to listen to my concerns and adjust my treatment plan based on my well researched requests. She is very thorough and willing to listen to new ideas. I felt very taken care of... Only did FETs - they do a bcp/ short lupron/ estrogen pill FET which I altered a couple of times- no bcp, 2nd time no lupron... Dr Mansfield is so kind and yet treated me like an educated adult. I felt very comfortable with her
Jen [a nurse at Vivere Arizona] was a great and quick email contact -my primary method of communication. She also did a good job of making sure all of my intensive paperwork got where it was supposed to go.... It’s a small clinic and you will get a lot of personal attention. The only drawback to that is that they aren’t open on weekend so this limits some treatment options I feel.

Christine [Mansfield] is always warm and caring, encouraging, a good listener, and enthusiastic about her job.... Don't be overwhelmed by her chipper enthusiasm, and speak up with any questions.... Christine always seemed glad to see me, was very caring and sweet, but also very candid and didn't beat around the bush. The only slightly confusing party of her communication was that, after an examination, she would say "we'll meet you right across the hall" but then I wouldn't actually see her again that visit.
Everyone here [AZ Reproductive Institute] is very kind and friendly. The front desk staff are sometimes a little too friendly and casual, expecting you to know whether you're supposed to sit and wait or sign in or go right back for your bloodwork. I had to ask a few times, "What do I do now?" But other than that, everyone was great, the nursing staff and Dr. Mansfield were amazing, and I'd definitely recommend this clinic.

She [Dr. Mansfield] truly valued our opinions and walked us through each year and procedure. She talks with you, not at you.... Even if we hadn't gotten pregnant, I would still recommend her, hands down. She was very involved in all of our treatments. She modified each protocol based on how things went and was always available for our questions. She never gave up on us.... Things may not work out the way you thought they would, but she will always be there to support and guide you.
This clinic [Arizona Reproductive Institute] was amazing. I'm so glad we came here for a second opinion. We were very disheartened by our last fertility doctor and everyone at this clinic was amazing. They really turned things around for us.... I don't remember off of the top of my head, but she was very up front with the pricing. The packages were all inclusive (vs. By procedure). There were discounts for subsequent procedures.

She [Dr. Mansfield] explained my options so that myself and my husband could understand. She allowed us to ask any and all questions, and didn’t make us feel silly for asking. She made sure to look over all test results and showed us everything, ultrasounds, blood work, etc... She took the time to read my history, medical records and charts before meeting with me. It showed that she truly cares!... She will answer everything as she has gone through the process herself.
It sometimes takes them [Arizona Reproductive Institute] a while to answer the phone or return messages. The IVF schedulers are so great, always available to answer questions via email or phone. No matter how silly you think the question is.... So thoughtful and attentive. I almost passed out when having blood taken and they made sure I got water and was ok before I even left the room.... She took the time to read my history, medical records and charts before meeting with me. It showed that she truly cares!

She [Dr. Christine Mansfield] is an excellent communicator and is always friendly and answers every question with detail. My husband and I have been through three stimulation cycles with timed intercourse, one fresh cycle IVF, and have begun a frozen cycle IVF that is not yet completed...Anytime we encountered a road block in our treatments, she took the time to sit down with us and re-group and change course if needed...You can tell the first time you speak with Dr Mansfield that she is knowledgeable in her field and loves what she does. She is an excellent communicator and is always friendly and answers every question with detail.
Its hard to describe any weaknesses that this clinic [Arizona Reproductive Institute] has. They are good at everything. They offer all of their testing, blood work, ultrasounds, and procedures in their office. I even had my egg retrieval and transfer in office. The staff is so kind and caring and work together so well...I have never felt like just a number in their office. The receptionists, nurses and doctor all know me by name and take the necessary time to explain procedures and answer questions. They make you feel comfortable and celebrate good news with you, but also feel your pain when you get bad news.

Don't hesitate to make an appointment to sit down and talk with her. She will likely order a few basic tests to give her a rundown of your reproductive health. You will get a better idea of what treatments you may need and you will have more peace of mind. Wondering about your infertility can give you so much stress, so it's better to find out why. Dr Mansfield will give you hope and cheer you on in your journey.
During treatment, were you treated like a number or a human with Christine Mansfield at Arizona Reproductive Institute?
Dr. Mansfield and her staff have a very patient-centered approach. I have never felt like just a number in their office. The receptionists, nurses and doctor all know me by name and take the necessary time to explain procedures and answer questions. They make you feel comfortable and celebrate good news with you, but also feel your pain when you get bad news.
Describe your experience with your nurse at Arizona Reproductive Institute. (Assigned nurse: Leah Offerdahl)
Leah was the nurse we dealt with most often and she is amazing. She seems to know as much about infertility and treatments as much as Dr. Manfield does. She can answer most all of our questions and was very knowledgeable about our medication and costs as well.
Describe your experience with Arizona Reproductive Institute.
Its hard to describe any weaknesses that this clinic has. They are good at everything. They offer all of their testing, blood work, ultrasounds, and procedures in their office. I even had my egg retrieval and transfer in office. The staff is so kind and caring and work together so well.
Describe your experience with your monitoring appointments at Arizona Reproductive Institute.
Monitoring appointments for me usually begin by being brought back for blood work. While I am getting blood drawn, they usually are preparing the ultrasound room. They work as a well oiled machine and I am never in the office for more than 30 min.
Describe the costs associated with your care under Christine Mansfield at Arizona Reproductive Institute.
The cost of our care was not covered by our insurance so we had to pay out of pocket for most medications and treatments.
Describe Christine Mansfield's approach to eSET (elective single embryo transfer) vs. multiple embryo transfer at Arizona Reproductive Institute.
Dr Mansfield recommended transferring 2 embryos for us. She left it up to us to decide if we wanted to do 1 or 2. I don't think she would transfer more than two. My husband is 42 and I am 34, so we elected to do 2 embryos to up our chances of pregnancy.

Dr Mansfield is incredibly warm and welcoming. I believe she is very knowledgeable and uses research to guide her practice, rather than old or unproven theories. I feel confident in her treatment recommendations. As many of us are when facing problems with reproduction and infertility, I felt I was relatively well educated and well read when I first met Dr Mansfield. She showed me kindness and patience while I asked her numerous questions related to various things I had come across. She never made me feel silly for asking her about something (hello, pineapple core!).
The clinic is beautiful, inviting, modern, and spacious. They are able to do HSG, SIS, and HSC procedures, along with egg retrievals and D&Cs in the office (they have an OR). Also, they run some of the lab work in house, so you can get results within a few hours. I was typically greeted by name and always with a smile. Many times, I barely sat down before they called me back. On the occasions when there was a wait, it was short. The lobby has bottled water and a coffee/tea maker you can help yourself to, along with a nice restroom and pretty views out the windows.
How was your experience with Christine Mansfield at Arizona Reproductive Institute?
Dr Mansfield is incredibly warm and welcoming. I believe she is very knowledgeable and uses research to guide her practice, rather than old or unproven theories. I feel confident in her treatment recommendations. As many of us are when facing problems with reproduction and infertility, I felt I was relatively well educated and well read when I first met Dr Mansfield. She showed me kindness and patience while I asked her numerous questions related to various things I had come across. She never made me feel silly for asking her about something (hello, pineapple core!). She refers to research when appropriate, tells you when she doesn't think something is useful but also doesn't find it harmful to try, and encourages you to not do things that she believes will be detrimental to your journey. When I specifically questioned Dr Mansfield about a line of treatment I felt sure I needed, she held true to her belief that our primary issue was one of egg quality. She didn't discount my feelings, but after more than a year of being under her care, it turns out she was absolutely correct about egg quality (and chromosomal errors) being a primary problem for us.
What's one piece of advice would you give a prospective patient of Christine Mansfield at Arizona Reproductive Institute?
Go see her! It will be worth it!
During treatment, were you treated like a number or a human with Christine Mansfield at Arizona Reproductive Institute?
Dr Mansfield is very compassionate and reassuring, while being completely honest in explaining what she believes our issues are and the hurdles we may be facing. She is straightforward and open to questions. She does an excellent job of remembering one's history. She never made me feel like she had somewhere else to be and was very patient with me when I hammered her on what I believed were immunologic components of our recurrent pregnancy loss.
Describe the protocols Christine Mansfield used in your cycles at Arizona Reproductive Institute and their degree of success.
Clomid 100 mg/Timed Intercourse (2 follicles, no pregnancy) Clomid 100 mg/IUI (4 follicles, no pregnancy) Clomid 100 mg/IUI (2 follicles, no pregnancy) Decision made to move to IVF to allow PGS testing: IVF #1- Antagonist (225-300 FSH daily), Lupron trigger (high risk for OHSS) We got 18 eggs, but only 6 were mature. Three embryos cleaved and all 3 made it to blastocyst and were biopsied for PGS testing. All 3 were abnormal. IVF #2- Lupron Down Reg (450 FSH daily)- protocol was changed due to abnormally high number of immature eggs on Antagonist cycle. We got 31 eggs, 19 mature, 18 embryos, 13 blastocysts. Nine of them were biopsied for PGS and 5 of them came back normal! All embryos are frozen, and we have not attempted a transfer yet.
Describe your experience with your nurse at Arizona Reproductive Institute. (Assigned nurse: Brooke)
The nursing staff members are all very kind and friendly. They always take the time to answer my questions and guide me through the process. They are reassuring and supportive when required and equally excited when something good happens.

Dr Mansfield's costs for care were on the lower end of the ranges I found for my area and significantly less than many clinics (such as those in Colorado, California, and on the East Coast).
