Attention to Detail

Attention to detail is on a 1 - 10 scale, and is scored based on the rate, and severity, of errors committed by the clinic according to the patients.

For example, a severe error might be failing to inform a patient of critical information, while a small error might be failing to call a patient with results.

CDC Success Rates

This is the most recent data from the CDC. The CDC cautions that it should not be used to compare doctors and clinics.

For more information please see our FAQs.

Where you see a “?” on the chart, a clinic has done fewer than 20 cycles in this category and age range, so the CDC says showing percentages from this small data set would be misleading and unreliable.

He [Dr. Mark Trolice] is a very cutting edge doctor but from my experience with him I felt that he is more interested in more complex patients. He seemed more interested in learning the newest technology and procedures and not very interested in the less complex patients. He was also very adamant on doing the least invasive options for as long as possible...Since all tests came back with no issues found he recommended doing mutual cycles. He recommended doing 6 natural non medicated cycles with frozen donor sperm before we moved on to try meds. He said since we were healthy there was no need to add in anything additional. None of the 3 IUIs took and we have since changed clinics.
The waiting room [at Fertility CARE] is a bit odd and they just play loops of tv interviews the dr did over and over. Be prepared to wait a lot...The staff was not very welcoming. We waited for at least 45 min after being taken back into a room for each visit. Multiple times we felt forgotten about even for the actual IUI procedure we sat in the room with the thawed sperm sample on the counter for 45 min before the doctor came in.

Describe your experience with your nurse at Fertility C.A.R.E.. (Assigned nurse: Katrina)
The nursing staff was not very responsive or helpful. When they would call back it would be very generic and they would typically not have an answer and have to call you back again. In the office the staff was not very welcoming and as the non caring patient I felt very over looked and not acknowledged I’m the process.
Describe your experience with Fertility C.A.R.E..
The waiting room is a bit odd and they just play loops of tv interviews the dr did over and over. Be prepared to wait a lot. On our constitutional they left us in the doctors actual office all alone while we waited for him for over 20 minutes. We never waited on anyone for less than 45 minutes each appointment.
Describe the costs associated with your care under Mark Trolice at Fertility C.A.R.E..
We were self pay for all visits and procedures. The clinic did not take our insurance provider.

Dr. Trolice was great during the initial visits. Once IVF was underway, the communication was lacking and the ball was dropped many times. The slowed embryo growth was not told to us until 30 minutes after we arrived for the embryo transfer. This didn't give us time to really consider our options. We felt rushed and uneasy about what was being presented so matter of factly. Getting directly in touch with Dr. Trolice even after the transfer was near impossible. He never went over the possible causes of our failed transfers with us.
The billing department [at Fertility CARE] is very easy to work with and get in touch with. They were always there to answer financial questions and guide me along the way. The nurse that I was assigned dropped the ball on too many important things. Communication as my biggest concern. I rarely knew what was going on and spent a lot of time trying to find information from anyone who would take a minute to speak to me. The lab closed for a couple weeks which delayed my embryo transfer and caused my GC to be on medication for an extended period of time, thus increasing the overall cost.

We felt rushed and uneasy about what was being presented so matter of factly. Getting directly in touch with Dr. Trolice even after the transfer was near impossible. He never went over the possible causes of our failed transfers with us. After spending thousands of dollars, we were out of money and no further ahead than when we started. After expressing my concerns about his practice, Dr. Trolice never reached out to rectify the situation.
What's one piece of advice would you give a prospective patient of Mark Trolice at Fertility C.A.R.E.?
I would advice prospective patients to seek treatment elsewhere. The nurse failed to communicate medication increases on 2 separate occasions which negatively effected our transfer. Communication is a major issue. If you seek treatment here, make it your daily job to call to make sure you have all necessary information. Dr. Trolice would order medication increases and we wouldn't find out until a week after the fact. We would have to call the after hours nurse to get any information because our assigned nurse was very hard to get in touch with.
During treatment, were you treated like a number or a human with Mark Trolice at Fertility C.A.R.E.?
Prior to stimulation, the staff was very attentive and easy to get in touch with. From the point of stimulation through my two embryo transfers, the nurse assigned to me was almost non-existent. It was hard to get ahold of her and she rarely had the information needed when I could reach her. The negative pregnancy test and then the chemical pregnancy that occurred were almost ignored. No information as to why the transfers failed were ever discussed but they were always quick to get you to sign up and pay for another transfer.
Describe the protocols Mark Trolice used in your cycles at Fertility C.A.R.E. and their degree of success.
High dosage on stimulation medications due to delayed response the first few days. Endometrial scraping for our gestational carrier but both were not helpful due to the timing of the scraping in comparison to the actual transfer date. The transfer date was delayed for each transfer, so the money spent for the scrapings were a complete waste.
Describe your experience with your nurse at Fertility C.A.R.E.. (Assigned nurse: Amy)
Amy has terrible communication skills, does not follow through with relaying information from the doctor, very hard to get in touch with, and shows little compassion considering the field that she's in.

Describe the costs associated with your care under Mark Trolice at Fertility C.A.R.E..
Dr. Fees, administration fees, lab fees (these fees are in addition to any quote you receive about 4-6k)
Describe Mark Trolice's approach to eSET (elective single embryo transfer) vs. multiple embryo transfer at Fertility C.A.R.E..
The lab does not rate the embryos at all, so you can't make an educated decision on which embryo to transfer. I still don't know how they chose which embryo to transfer each time. Single embryo transfer is recommended for most under 35 years old.
What specific things went wrong at Fertility C.A.R.E.?
  • Lost appointments
  • Failed to call with results
  • Failed to order appropriate test
  • Failed to inform you of changes in protocol
  • Provided conflicting information
  • Failed to convey critical information
Describe the specific things that went wrong at Fertility C.A.R.E..
Appointments were scheduled with assigned nurse but not put in the system. Error was only caught when my GC tried to confirm her appointment. Money was spent on procedures at the clinic (endometrial scraping) which were done too early and therefore ineffective during embryo transfer. During our last transfer, the transfer time was changed twice. Despite the change in time, we sat in the operating room for 45 minutes waiting for the doctor to arrive. During this transfer the nurse failed to let our GC know that her estrogen was too low and age needed to increase her estrogen medication that day. This error was made again two weeks later. We had to wait 3 extra days to here the results of our third beta because the nurse "forgot" to call us. The list of things that went wrong are too many to write.

I knew I had a problem with loosing all my pregnancies and I kept explaining I need something more such as an immune protocol but Dr.Trolice did no try anything different with me...was very blunt. I feel if he cared more about how important it was for me to take home a live child and the trauma I’ve expirenced undergoing all my miscarriages he would of got to the root cause with me. My last pregnancy got to 15 weeks on my own immune protocol. I lost my baby due to a SCH. I now do not have insurance to cover another transfer to finally bring home a baby.
I wanted to do a double embryo transfer [at Fertility C.A.R.E] but because of my age it wasn’t suggested...With insurance I paid close to 8 thousand Dollars with pgs testing...Strength would be they were always on my time. They always sped up things for me. A weakness would be the ability to listen to me since I know my body the best. If you’re coming here just please advocate for yourself, ask questions, understand everything that is going on to bring home the best bet.

My protocol was the antagonist protocol, FET because they retrieved 52 eggs from me. We did pgs testing because me and my husband thought the issue was chromosomal.

Dr. Trolice appears to care but does not take the time to learn about you as a patient and tailoring the treatment to you. He never followed up with me after I had a chemical pregnancy after our last egg transfer when I was devastated. He never offered any other suggestions and simply told us it was the end of the line because we had no embryos left...My lining was not thickening enough for the second transfer I was given estrogen pills and viagra suppositories. Nursing Staff
the total cost for IVF [at Fertility C.A.R.E] was about $20,000...The receptionists are so nice and welcoming. The rest of the staff, to include the doctor, are just going through the motions. The appearance of the clinic is welcoming. I routinely had to wait a long time when I had an appointment, which was frustrating because I was going so often...One of the nurses provided us inaccurate information about financing, which caused a strained relationship with her after that. The nurses kind of went through the motions just like the doctor.

Dr. Trolice never remembered anything about me each time I came into the office. Nothing was specialized for me. I felt like everyone just went through the same motions they would with anyone else.

Describe Mark Trolice's approach to eSET (elective single embryo transfer) vs. multiple embryo transfer at Fertility C.A.R.E..
Dr. Trolice insisted on doing a single transfer the first time even though we wanted to transfer both. He said he wouldn’t do both since it was my first transfer.
