Attention to Detail

Attention to detail is on a 1 - 10 scale, and is scored based on the rate, and severity, of errors committed by the clinic according to the patients.

For example, a severe error might be failing to inform a patient of critical information, while a small error might be failing to call a patient with results.

CDC Success Rates

This is the most recent data from the CDC. The CDC cautions that it should not be used to compare doctors and clinics. This data represents the outcomes of IVF cycles when using a person's own eggs.

For more information please see our FAQs.

Where you see a “?” on the chart, a clinic has done fewer than 20 cycles in this category and age range, so the CDC says showing percentages from this small data set would be misleading and unreliable.

Dr. Banaski does a great job at explaining all options, possible outcomes, and rationale...She briefly shared her own journey with PCOS, which was so helpful...did a great job at trying different approaches per my request...always answered my questions through them in a very reasonable amount of time
[Garrison Clinic] Strengths: organized, good communication/responsive, caring, good at providing accurate information for billing/insurance coverage Weaknesses: I would prefer they have a separate waiting area for the infertility clients so we don't have to sit in a sea of pregnant women...not very private.
How was your experience with Rebecca Banaski at Garrison?
We only met with Dr. Banaski at our initial consultation, a year into treatments at her practice, and again at our one and only IUI. She always made my husband and I feel at ease, and never made us feel rushed during our appointments with her. Even though most of our appointments were nurse visits, I knew that the nurses were in constant communication with Dr. Banaski and she always answered my questions through them in a very reasonable amount of time.
What's one piece of advice would you give a prospective patient of Rebecca Banaski at Garrison?
I would advise a future patient to go in with an open mind regarding treatment options. What works for your friends, might not work for you, and Dr. Banaski does a great job at explaining all options, possible outcomes, and rationale. I started my journey at her office thinking 1 IUI would be the "be all, end all" to getting pregnant, and while unfortunately that was not the case for me, Dr. Banaski did a great job at trying different approaches per my request until we came to the understanding together that IVF was our only option.
During treatment, were you treated like a number or a human with Rebecca Banaski at Garrison?
Dr. Banaski made my husband and I feel comfortable right away. She sat on the same side of her desk as us, which we loved because our consultation felt casual. Even when she heard my stomach rumble, she offered me chocolate, which I got a kick out of. She was amazing at explaining all possibilities, not sugar-coating our situation, but also allowing us to remain cautiously optimistic during our treatments with her. She briefly shared her own journey with PCOS, which was so helpful in feeling like someone understood me. She genuinely listened to our millions of questions and concerns, and after a year of trying at her practice, sat down with us again to decide what our next steps would be moving forward. Her nurse Kim became family. I can't count how many times she hugged me while I cried in her office and remained very professional throughput my journey at Garrison. I truly wish the more "simple" treatments were successful in getting me pregnant, but I had full confidence moving on to Dr. Ben Lannon at Boston IVF per Dr. Banaski and Kim's recommendation.
Describe the protocols Rebecca Banaski used in your cycles at Garrison and their degree of success.
Originally, each protocol started with a progesterone injection to induce my period followed by 5 days of Letrozole on cycle days 5-9 with internal ultrasounds starting around cycle day 12 for monitoring of follicle growth and then a trigger shot of Ovidrel when the follicle was mature enough. I believe my body only responded to the letrozole twice, but neither time resulted in pregnancy (all with timed intercourse). after 3 or 4 trials with that, we discussed trying Gonal-F, however I was fearful of OHSS and knew after speaking with Kim and Dr. Banaski that once you start using injectables, you can't really go back to trying oral medications of ovulation, so I asked that we try Clomid since the first 3 times I took it, my OB did not monitor how my ovaries responded to it. The first round worked and we were able to do IUI with trigger, which was unsuccessful. The second round was in January/February and my follicles were not maturing at a good rate and we decided to cancel the cycle and be referred to Dr. Lannon at Boston IVF.
Describe your experience with your nurse at Garrison. (Assigned nurse: Kim)
Kim was wonderful. She made me feel at home right away. She definitely had her hands full so sometimes she would have to call me back after discussing a question I had for her, just to ensure she had all of the right information before providing me an answer. She even called me while I was on vacation on a Saturday to apologize for forgetting to call me back the day before.

Strengths: organized, good communication/responsive, caring, good at providing accurate information for billing/insurance coverage Weaknesses: I would prefer they have a separate waiting area for the infertility clients so we don't have to sit in a sea of pregnant women. I would have also preferred they do not discuss specific balances due at check-in as the waiting room is only separated from the waiting room by a desk and a few feet, and is not very private.
Describe the costs associated with your care under Rebecca Banaski at Garrison.
My insurance only covered diagnostics and labs- all medications and the IUI procedure were 100% OOP. Her office had a special contract with my insurance though, so rates were a little less expensive for me.

[Dr. Rebecca Banaski] was great. I only did an initial consult with her, and she performed one of our IUIs - but it was always clear she was reviewing the results of my last cycle and adjusting the plan accordingly. I came in on a snowy, rainy Sunday - to hopefully get a trigger shot - but a cyst changed the plans - Dr. Banaski was immediately available via text during my appointment to figure out what to do.
[Garrison staff are] Good communicators. Front desk is kind. Billing got a little mixed up - but the VA was paying so they have never sent me a bill which is nice. Pregnant women and fertility patients all sit together in the same waiting room - which felt a little triggering at times - some offices do it differently...I only did an initial consult with her [Dr. Banaski], and she performed one of our IUIs - but it was always clear she was reviewing the results of my last cycle and adjusting the plan accordingly.

What's one piece of advice would you give a prospective patient of Rebecca Banaski at Garrison?
I thought I knew what the next cycle would consist of, and made sure I had the perscriptions on hand, but Kim and Dr. Banaski would reevaluate on Day 1 of my cycle. I only mention this because my pharmacy (the VA) requires 10 days to fill my prescription, so I had to pay out of pocket at a local pharmacy for medicine that I was supposed to start the next day when Dr. Banaksi updated my treatment plan.
During treatment, were you treated like a number or a human with Rebecca Banaski at Garrison?
Loved working with my nurse Kim and Nancy and the others at the front desk.
Describe the protocols Rebecca Banaski used in your cycles at Garrison and their degree of success.
The first month after initial consult, I did a Day three blood draw, then came in for ultrasound monitoring and timed intercourse. The second month I had a SIS (they kept referring to it as a HSG, but it was with sailene, not dye), ultrasound monitoring and TI. I stated meds and IUIs in month three. I did two or three rounds of letrozole (increasing doses), with trigger shots and IUIs. Then we switched to clomid, trigger shots, and IUIs. We also added in estrogen and progesterone.
Describe your experience with your nurse at Garrison. (Assigned nurse: Kim)
Kim is great. My sister texted me her first ultrasound pictures while I was waiting for my first meeting with Kim, and when I came in and lost it, she handled it in stride. When work took a crazy turn in the middle of a cycle, she worked with me. Kim got back to me with every question I asked.

Describe the costs associated with your care under Rebecca Banaski at Garrison.
The VA paid for my year of treatments with Dr. Banaski - but I think each IUI would have been $350. Also this clinic used ultrasound monitoring - which would have cost money because my insurance doesn't cover it - I liked it because it was easy.

Dr Banaski has a passion for infertility treatment and shows compassion and understanding. She related on a personal level. She explained everything I asked of her and was honest when it came time to say that the cause of our infertility was unknown. I would absolutely recommend her.... Dr Banaski has a good bedside manner and also relates on a personal level.
The staff at Garrison when I went there were all so friendly. They remembered me and asked about my family. I felt like they all cared, even the front desk staff. I liked the way they have the bathroom up front where you can do urine samples while you wait for your appointment... After my successful pregnancy with Garrison, I moved to another city. It took several calls to get my records transferred to my new ob office.

She [Dr. Banaski] made me feel comfortable, but wish I had more access to her instead of the nurse... She took the time to make sure I understood what was going on, stayed while I cried, seemed to have the same goals.
She [nurse at Garrisons Womens Health] was rigid in the process. Always had to wait for a phone call back. Read my husband's report wrong. I don't trust her... Wish I had more access to doctor.
