Attention to Detail

Attention to detail is on a 1 - 10 scale, and is scored based on the rate, and severity, of errors committed by the clinic according to the patients.

For example, a severe error might be failing to inform a patient of critical information, while a small error might be failing to call a patient with results.

CDC Success Rates

This is the most recent data from the CDC. The CDC cautions that it should not be used to compare doctors and clinics. This data represents the outcomes of IVF cycles when using a person's own eggs.

For more information please see our FAQs.

Where you see a “?” on the chart, a clinic has done fewer than 20 cycles in this category and age range, so the CDC says showing percentages from this small data set would be misleading and unreliable.

[Dr. Larisa Gavrilova-Jordan] is amazing. She’s extremely knowledgeable...I wouldn’t want another doctor...In your first appointment, eat before you go. You will be there for hours...Dr. Jordan made my treatment tailored to my needs, because of my PCOS she gave a specific concoction of drugs to give me the results...She has an accent , Sometimes it’s hard to understand her , but for the most part it’s not that bad... Also, write down any questions you may have before your appointment so you won’t forget.
I nervously waited for HCG beta blood results, and they [staff at Georgia Regents] never called. I had to call and find out...For medication, retrieval, and transfer I paid under 20k...They are awesome about keeping good records. I’ve never had anything lost by them. However, they NEVER answer the phone. Trying to get in touch with anyone is a nightmare. It takes a full 3-5 business days to get a call back. The nurse coordinator communicates through e-email.

Dr. Jordan came into me room with a bubbly and energetic spirit. She shared he her story and her purpose. She clearly communicated that there are no guarantees however she and her staff will provide their best efforts to assist me during this process...
The clinic staff [of Augusta University Reproductive Medicine and Infertility Associates] is great and seems to work together as a team. The only weakness I would say is the building and space is small...With all testing, lab work and services around $12,000.00...The staff was very nice. They answered all my questions and made sure I had an understanding of what my options are. Also making me aware of the risk and making me no promises.

most of the interaction was conducted by her fellow doctor...It seemed Dr. Jordan rushed her visits to the point were I was getting the full story from the fellow. I am not saying that's a bad thing but it did annoy me at times that she seemed like she wanted to hurry the office visits along...actual face to face interaction lasting about 10 minutes with Dr. Jordan and 15 to 20 minutes with a fellow...
Typical clinic. The staff [at Augusta University Reproductive Medicine and Infertility Associates] was professional and very nice! I can't think of one bad interaction I had with the staff. They were always nice and seemed to care. The building was old but clean...The egg retrieval process was extensive but it was well explained by supporting staff...I developed ovarian hyperstimulation syndrome during my treatments which was addressed appropriately and quickly....
How was your experience with Larisa Gavrilova-Jordan at Augusta University Reproductive Medicine and Infertility Associates?
Dr. Jordan was a very good doctor so much so we had a successful term pregnancy. The good goes without saying so I will talk about shortcomings. In all honesty I enjoyed the fellow more than I did Dr. Jordan (attending). So, I know a little about the hierarchy of medicine and any academic program with medical students, residents, and fellows all the charting, note writing, ordering, etc. is done by them. It seemed Dr. Jordan rushed her visits to the point were I was getting the full story from the fellow. I am not saying that's a bad thing but it did annoy me at times that she seemed like she wanted to hurry the office visits along and given that academic attendings do little to know paper work I am wondering why the rush? My husband and I also had a very unnerving experience on the day of embryo implantation. Dr. Jordan all but took me for another patient of hers to the point where she asked me how my vacation trip was? Given I had not been on vacation I was a little bit confused. After the fellow corrected her on who I was she then realized her mistake. Of course she apologized several times and began to tell us she has another patient who looks just like me is getting an implantation as well. So, don't get me wrong people make mistakes, I lead the pack, but Jesus when your going for an embryo implantation where you really have no absolute confirmation of who the mother and father of said embryo they are implanting it really gets you nervous! Your putting all your trust into a set of procedures and regulations to make sure my baby is really my baby. My husband was less than enthused and really began to question every decision being made. To their credit they answered all of his questions and verifications of all minute details were carried out. Of course, right on que my mind begins to think the worst about people saying such things as, "Well, if you spent longer than 5 minutes on my office visits you would know who the hell I am!" "If not for the fellow this would have been an absolute $hit$how!" Again, at the time emotions were running high but again my husband and I came away with what we wanted which was a child. So, all is well, and more importantly I would recommend and plan to use Dr. Jordan again.
What's one piece of advice would you give a prospective patient of Larisa Gavrilova-Jordan at Augusta University Reproductive Medicine and Infertility Associates?
Make sure you schedule a new patient appointment about 6 to 8 months in advance. Make sure you bring something to pass the time along on office visits. For example if you have a 11am office visit time. Your not going to leave the office until about 2pm most of the time with actual face to face interaction lasting about 10 minutes with Dr. Jordan and 15 to 20 minutes with a fellow.
During treatment, were you treated like a number or a human with Larisa Gavrilova-Jordan at Augusta University Reproductive Medicine and Infertility Associates?
My husband and I felt very welcomed during our treatment periods. I must admit though most of the interaction was conducted by her fellow doctor. Overall, we had a good experience. Of course we had a successful outcome with a beautiful baby girl, so we are biased.
Describe the protocols Larisa Gavrilova-Jordan used in your cycles at Augusta University Reproductive Medicine and Infertility Associates and their degree of success.
The egg retrieval process was extensive but it was well explained by supporting staff. I don't remember specifically what drugs I was taking but they were made to make me ovulate. I had to take several regiments or oral and IM injected drugs with numerous follow-up ultrasounds. All of the drugs I administered at home so that was nice. I developed ovarian hyperstimulation syndrome during my treatments which was addressed appropriately and quickly.
Describe your experience with your nurse at Augusta University Reproductive Medicine and Infertility Associates. (Assigned nurse: Stacey)
Stacey was great. She was the "handler" if you will for making my appointments and stuff.
Describe your experience with Augusta University Reproductive Medicine and Infertility Associates.
Typical clinic. The staff was professional and very nice! I can't think of one bad interaction I had with the staff. They were always nice and seemed to care. The building was old but clean. Still had those stupid mask regulations in place if I had to complain about anything. An aerosol virus whose diameter is nanometers and yet here we are still having to wear these things.
Describe the costs associated with your care under Larisa Gavrilova-Jordan at Augusta University Reproductive Medicine and Infertility Associates.
Overall cost was 18K. This included an ultrasound to make sure I had no polyps within my uterine cavity to make sure no problems would occur with embryo implantation. All medications involving the ovarian stimulation procedure for egg retrieval. Numerous ultrasounds and blood draws for tracking how my ovaries were developing prior to egg retrieval. (Note: my health insurance actually covered some of the costs associated with my ultrasounds, so keep an eye out for that). The actual egg retrieval procedure. Cost for my husband to supply fresh sperm on the day of egg retrieval. Washing of said sperm to get biggest, fastest, most virial. Fertilization (we had 8 successful fertilized eggs). Freezing of embryos (had to wait for my OHSS to pass). Thawing of embryos (actually I think it is a morula at this point because they waited 5 days post fertilization). Implantation by Dr. Jordan. Blood work post implantation to measure beta-hcg levels and then finally an ultrasound to confirm IUP.
Describe Larisa Gavrilova-Jordan's approach to eSET (elective single embryo transfer) vs. multiple embryo transfer at Augusta University Reproductive Medicine and Infertility Associates.
I remember talking to Dr. Jordan about this dilemma and she did a very good job of explaining the numbers showed that single embryo transfers outperformed multiple embryo transfers. It actually makes sense giving the vast majority of women only have one baby.
What specific things went wrong at Augusta University Reproductive Medicine and Infertility Associates?
  • Lost paperwork
Describe the specific things that went wrong at Augusta University Reproductive Medicine and Infertility Associates.
When I first went to the clinic Dr. Jordan placed me on medications to treat a chronic condition I have which is ultimately the reason why I cannot conceive in the first place. The treatment was fine but they messed up the coding were instead of coding a diagnosable, debilitating disease, they coding it under fertility treatments. I have been on this medication before ordered by another OB/GYN with no problems in insurance coverage. The medication I was on is in no way used in any fashion for fertility treatment but my insurance refuses to pay it because they believe it was done in conjunction with fertility treatments. This is still an ongoing issue.

Dr. Jordan was very blunt (which I like) and honest about what to expect and what was possible. She was always encouraging, even when we had setbacks...willing to spend as much time needed to answer all of your questions...was always honest with us and not just out to get money. Example: I thought about genetically testing our embryos which is super expensive. However, Dr. Jordan said based on my age & my own genetic testing, it was not necessary and saved us that money...

How was your experience with Larisa Gavrilova-Jordan at Augusta University Reproductive Medicine and Infertility Associates?
Dr. Jordan was very blunt (which I like) and honest about what to expect and what was possible. She was always encouraging, even when we had setbacks. For example, we were planning to complete a fresh embryo transfer. However, my lining was not thick enough, so we had to change direction to a frozen embryo transfer. Dr. Jordan explained thoroughly why we need to change the plan and what the next steps would be. Also, she was always honest with us and not just out to get money. Example: I thought about genetically testing our embryos which is super expensive. However, Dr. Jordan said based on my age & my own genetic testing, it was not necessary and saved us that money.
What's one piece of advice would you give a prospective patient of Larisa Gavrilova-Jordan at Augusta University Reproductive Medicine and Infertility Associates?
Ask questions!! Dr. Jordan is willing to spend as much time needed to answer all of your questions. Also, be up front with what you want to know. I am the type of person that needs to know every step and the research behind why we are doing each step. Dr. Jordan was always happy to accommodate me and explain the studies behind the decisions.
Describe the protocols Larisa Gavrilova-Jordan used in your cycles at Augusta University Reproductive Medicine and Infertility Associates and their degree of success.
For our IVF retrieval we were on the following medications: Lupron 20 IU--twice per day Follistim 225 IU--once per day Menopur 75 IU--once per day Letrozole 5mg--once per day (starting 4 days prior to retrieval) From baseline to retrieval was 18 days due to lining readiness.
Describe your experience with your nurse at Augusta University Reproductive Medicine and Infertility Associates. (Assigned nurse: Stacy)
Dr. Jordan's IVF coordinator was excellent. She was quick to respond to calls and emails. She also was quick to call with any test results. Before we began IVF, we did 4 rounds of IUI with Dr. Jordan and I was not as impressed by the other nurses during this process. When we first started with the clinic there was a total lack of communication. At one point, I had to drive 2 hours to the clinic to find out when to do my first trigger shot because I could not get the nurses to call me back with an answer. After this there were several staff changes and I never had this issue again. But I did want to mention it. However, I never had any communication issues during IVF or with Stacy.

Describe the costs associated with your care under Larisa Gavrilova-Jordan at Augusta University Reproductive Medicine and Infertility Associates.
IUI's cost around $1200 per cycle. IVF costs: $3900 Dr. Jordan; $4500 Lab; $6000 meds
Describe Larisa Gavrilova-Jordan's approach to eSET (elective single embryo transfer) vs. multiple embryo transfer at Augusta University Reproductive Medicine and Infertility Associates.
I really wanted to transfer 2 embryos, but, due to my age, Dr. Jordan would only transfer 1 embryo. She did explain clearly the rationale behind transferring only 1 embryo and that we would most likely have a better outcome with only 1 embryo.
What specific things went wrong at Augusta University Reproductive Medicine and Infertility Associates?
  • Failed to call with results

Describe the specific things that went wrong at Augusta University Reproductive Medicine and Infertility Associates.
During my first cycle of IUI, the clinic did not call and let me know when to take my trigger shot. I called and left multiple messages and never received a call back. I finally had to drive 2 hours to the clinic to find out when to take the trigger shot. I will say that this only happened 1 time. Shortly after this incident, there were staff changes and I never had another communication issue.

Dr Jordan was very attentive and caring from the beginning. She was always optimistic about my treatment even when I wasn't. She explains everything in a way that is easy to understand and she always ensures all questions are answered...recommended letrozole and I underwent several cycles. After each cycle resulted in a negative pregnancy test, with Dr Jordan's advice I decided to try IVF. I used gonal-f, leuprolide, and menopur to induce ovulation. I had 5 day embryo transfer which resulted in my first positive pregnancy test. Currently I am 12 weeks pregnant.
There are multiple nurses [at Augusta University Medicine and Infertility Associates] who are all very nice and attentive...It took a while after my OBGYN referred me to get an appointment (maybe 3 months). The office stays very busy but always able to accommodate an appointment that works with my schedule. Sometimes routine visits seemed rushed and like they knew they had to get to the next room because they had so many patients to see...I had 5 day embryo transfer which resulted in my first positive pregnancy test. Currently I am 12 weeks pregnant.

Describe the protocols Larisa Gavrilova-Jordan used in your cycles at Augusta University Reproductive Medicine and Infertility Associates and their degree of success.
I started seeing Dr Jordan after my OBGYN referred me. I had been a year without taking birth control and no positive pregnancy test. My OBGYN had me try multiple clomid cycles which also failed and 1 unsuccessful IUI. Dr Jordan recommended letrozole and I underwent several cycles. After each cycle resulted in a negative pregnancy test, with Dr Jordan's advice I decided to try IVF. I used gonal-f, leuprolide, and menopur to induce ovulation. Dr Jordan preferred single embryo transfer due to my age and it being my first pregnancy. She explained the risks of more than 1 embryo transfer at a time.

She [Dr. Gavrilova-Jordan] created two miracles despite a grim initial diagnosis!...personable doctor who pays close attention to each individual patient. Amazing bedside manner, always reassuring...Three IUI attempts. IFV with lupron protocol. ICSI after egg retrieval...It was very nerve wracking at 30 years old to find out I have extremely low ovarian reserve, along with a male infertility factor...She assured us she would get us pregnant and sure enough, 7 months later we became pregnant with twins via IVF!
[Georgia Regents is a] Very clean, comfortable clinic. Great doctors and staff! Easy to get an appointment. Very personable and everyone knows who you are. Comfortable environment...Three IUI attempts. IFV with lupron protocol. ICSI after egg retrieval...[Nurses are] Very friendly and knowledgeable. Was there to answer our questions a long the way. Kept us updated vie phone or in person...Transferred two embryo's due to one embryo being four cell and the other 8 cell. Four cell embryo's chances of making it to blastocyst stage were not high and would not be able to freeze.

After two years of trying we lost all hope until we found Dr. Jordan. She assured us she would get us pregnant and sure enough, 7 months later we became pregnant with twins via IVF! I can’t say enough about how wonderful a doctor Dr Jordan is and how she has changed out lives. She created two miracles despite a grim initial diagnosis! I would happily recommend Dr. Jordan to anyone going through infertility. She is a miracle worker!

Dr. Jordan is pretty adamant on only transferring one embryo unless you have a reason that justifies more...She’s very personable- gets to know you and your partner and remembers you. Genuinely cares about her patients and takes the time to answer all your questions...She tells it like it is, which is helpful if you’re anxious about something. She puts your worries to rest quickly and makes you feel confident that her and her staff are taking care of you...
The staff [ Augusta University Reproductive Medicine and Infertility Associates] is friendly and does the best they can. The clinic itself is pretty outdated. Personally, I think with their great track record and how much patients spend on treatment, AU really needs to update their office. Because they have so many patients wait times can be long so prepare for that. Sometimes you’re taken back right away, other times you can wait and hour or two to get seen...
