Attention to Detail
Attention to detail is on a 1 - 10 scale, and is scored based on the rate, and severity, of errors committed by the clinic according to the patients.
For example, a severe error might be failing to inform a patient of critical information, while a small error might be failing to call a patient with results.
CDC Success Rates
This is the most recent data from the CDC. The CDC cautions that it should not be used to compare doctors and clinics. This data represents the outcomes of IVF cycles when using a person's own eggs.
For more information please see our FAQs.
Where you see a “?” on the chart, a clinic has done fewer than 20 cycles in this category and age range, so the CDC says showing percentages from this small data set would be misleading and unreliable.
Her [Dr. Obehi Asemota] door was open every time I was there, making her easy to chat with even if I was only there for bloodwork...would reply to my questions in the patient portal promptly...During our IUI procedure, I told her how nervous I was about cervical pain from a past experience...took the time to get Alexa set up for me with music that relaxes me, she was explaining everything so I was not in the dark about what would happen, and again, as it was happening.
The office [Hope Fertility has] a small boutique feel, both in the aesthetics and the level of attention and care...I was given not only personalized care by Dr. Asemota, but I was also assigned a personal care point of contact in the office...We laughed with our care team, we felt heard, we felt like they took time with us, rather than rushing us...Wonderfully warm office all around.
How was your experience with Obehi Asemota at Hope Fertility?
I kind of already said this in the previous prompt, but I will just reiterate how warm and friendly and approachable she was. Her door was open every time I was there, making her easy to chat with even if I was only there for bloodwork, not there to see her. She would reply to my questions in the patient portal promptly and even went above and beyond helping me understand things about getting a covid vaccination now that I am pregnant, as well as researching something for me about my dental care as a pregnant person that I was not able to find anywhere else. She connected with us on a human level both in and out of the office and that was really meaningful for both my husband and me. During our IUI procedure, I told her how nervous I was about cervical pain from a past experience, and took the time to get Alexa set up for me with music that relaxes me, she was explaining everything so I was not in the dark about what would happen, and again, as it was happening.
What's one piece of advice would you give a prospective patient of Obehi Asemota at Hope Fertility?
Just go! She is amazing. No advice needed.
During treatment, were you treated like a number or a human with Obehi Asemota at Hope Fertility?
This is my first experience personally with a fertility doctor. But I work with parents of babies, about half of whom got pregnant using a fertility doctor and who shared with me what their experience was like with their various doctors. Because of those stories, I was expecting to be treated like just another number on a file. My experience at Hope Fertility with Dr. Asemota was significantly better than what I was expecting. I was given not only personalized care by Dr. Asemota, but I was also assigned a personal care point of contact in the office (Niecy) who also got to know me and my husband while we were in their care. The office has a small boutique feel, both in the aesthetics and the level of attention and care. But it doesn't come with the arrogant doctor with no bedside manner. We laughed with our care team, we felt heard, we felt like they took time with us, rather than rushing us. I never felt rushed, I never felt that my questions were viewed as annoying. It felt like she REALLY wanted us to get pregnant as much as we did.
Describe the protocols Obehi Asemota used in your cycles at Hope Fertility and their degree of success.
I wish I could give this information, I forgot the fertility jargon as soon as it was no longer relevant! I know we did a blend of Clomid and injections, and I know that produced 3 mature eggs at the time of our IUI procedure.
Describe your experience with your nurse at Hope Fertility. (Assigned nurse: Niecy)
I loved having Niecy as my care point of contact. She was so calm, and had any answer to any question I had for her. And the random time or two that she didn't, she didn't pretend to know to save face. She was honest and got Dr. Asemota involved to get me an answer ASAP. I never felt anything but totally cared for with Niecy. I'm sure the others were amazing too! I just didn't get to know them as they were not assigned to me.
Describe your experience with Hope Fertility.
The clinic itself is very aesthetically pleasing making it feel more like a boutique with tasteful art, not a cold doctor's office feeling. They are SUPER diligent about cleaning, sanitizing, temp taking, and making you wait in your car instead of in the lobby because, Covid is still a thing at the time of my writing this. The front desk staff remember you each time, and seem to be rooting for you as much as Dr. Asemota and the nurses. Wonderfully warm office all around.
Describe the costs associated with your care under Obehi Asemota at Hope Fertility.
Everything was covered by our insurance.
Describe Obehi Asemota's approach to eSET (elective single embryo transfer) vs. multiple embryo transfer at Hope Fertility.
[Dr. Obehi Asemota] went above and beyond to answer our questions, listen to our concerns, educate us to make tough decisions, and find the right treatment plan...This was the first clinic where we felt like she planned our treatment cycle specifically for us...helped us decide to pursue treatment for endometriosis before starting a cycle...When challenges occurred she worked hard to reassure us. She doesn’t sugar coat things, but is very honest and scientific with her answers. She uses compassions but is trustworthy.
From the moment you walk into the clinic [Hope Fertility], you will feel welcome, known by name and heard. Seeing the same faces each time you go to the clinic makes a big difference. The online portal makes communication and getting your questions answered easy. The staff go above and beyond to make what can be a scary process feel doable. I would prefer to receive a calendar sooner in the process, but the team likes to make updates and decisions based on your latest bloodwork results. It’s great for personalizing your cycle but not so great for planning ahead.

What's one piece of advice would you give a prospective patient of Obehi Asemota at Hope Fertility?
Take lots of notes and don’t be afraid to ask questions.
During treatment, were you treated like a number or a human with Obehi Asemota at Hope Fertility?
Everyone in the office and especially Dr. A goes above and beyond to know your name and your partner’s name and to respond to any questions promptly. She tries her best to make uncomfortable situations feel doable. She is positive but realistic.
Describe the protocols Obehi Asemota used in your cycles at Hope Fertility and their degree of success.
This was the first clinic where we felt like she planned our treatment cycle specifically for us. She helped us decide to pursue treatment for endometriosis before starting a cycle. She even referred us to a surgeon. She was the person we saw at every appointment (except for quick checks mid cycle), especially after pregnancy was achieved. She helped us decide on the best timing for a frozen embryo transfer based on bloodwork. She helped guide our decision to transfer two embryos after a biochemical miscarriage from a cycle at another clinic. She also helped us decide to use progesterone injections and estrogen patches based on my history with medications and outcomes.

Describe your experience with Hope Fertility.
Everyone is warm and friendly. They work hard to make uncomfortable situations feel achievable. From the financial consultation to a Celeste to every visit pre and post cycle we felt heard and cared for. They followed safely protocols but also allowed partners to attend some visits because they put the patient first. Everything is done in the same office by the same nurses and doctor. This was reassuring to me.
Describe the costs associated with your care under Obehi Asemota at Hope Fertility.
The costs are comparable to other clinics in the area. Celeste is very knowledgeable and upfront about costs. She answers any questions and works hard to get as much covered by insurance as possible.
Describe Obehi Asemota's approach to eSET (elective single embryo transfer) vs. multiple embryo transfer at Hope Fertility.
She will only present scientific data and give you all the choices. She makes sure you know the risks and does not sway your decision. We felt able to make an informed decision to transfer two embryos which resulted in one viable pregnancy. Other clinics did not give us that choice or take the time to present all options.
Dr A is initially very friendly. She explained the IVF process well at the first consultation...she cancelled one of my scheduled follow-up calls because she “didn’t think [I] needed it” the day after I went to the ER for a possible ectopic. She is not proactive in communicating next steps (whether immediate next steps or the overall plan). She refuses to let partners in for ultrasounds. She is the only doctor and runs two clinics. She seems to be way too busy to allow for the proper time and care to address each patient. I’ve seen her a couple of times for a couple of minutes except for my ER and FET.
[Hope Fertility] Strengths: smaller clinic, so you do tend to see the same staff. Organized with providing documentation (bloodwork requests, etc) through the portal. Generally get back to portal messages within 24/48 hours. Weaknesses: lack of compassion and warmth. Terrible at providing information up front. They only give you the very next step (eg. you need a blood draw tomorrow) and not the overall process. When I asked for the process to be listed in the portal, the response was aggressive and I felt like I was bothering them to want to know about my own care!
How was your experience with Obehi Asemota at Hope Fertility?
Dr A is initially very friendly. She explained the IVF process well at the first consultation. I transferred to her from an IUI-only clinic. My experience with Dr A compared to my previous clinic: portal messages were responded to within 24 hours but were constantly getting misunderstood (she responded with overt defensiveness on more than one occasion), she cancelled one of my scheduled follow-up calls because she “didn’t think [I] needed it” the day after I went to the ER for a possible ectopic. She is not proactive in communicating next steps (whether immediate next steps or the overall plan). She refuses to let partners in for ultrasounds.

What's one piece of advice would you give a prospective patient of Obehi Asemota at Hope Fertility?
Expect to have limited communication with superficial responses to questions. Expect to have everything communicated via portal rather than phone call, even if a call would be 10x easier than 10 portal messages in a day.
During treatment, were you treated like a number or a human with Obehi Asemota at Hope Fertility?
We chose this smaller practice in order to feel less like a number, but that hasn’t been the case. No staff remembers my name despite frequent appointments. Dr A has cancelled my follow up calls because she felt they were not needed. No real understanding of the human experience.
Describe the protocols Obehi Asemota used in your cycles at Hope Fertility and their degree of success.
Dr A batches her procedures. Meaning I had to take birth control for 2 weeks to get my cycle onto her schedule. Fully medicated FET. Bc for 2 weeks, Estradiol 3x daily, 81 mg baby aspirin daily, progesterone injections leading up to FET and for 8-14 weeks following.
Describe your experience with your nurse at Hope Fertility. (Assigned nurse: Neicey)
The staff at Hope varies wildly. The egg retrieval care coordinator (Nilsa) is great. Humane, friendly, organized. Gives the information up front so you don’t have to ask a billion questions.
The FET care coordinator/NP (Neicey) has no personality, no warmth, and gives limited info so I’m always having to follow up with additional questions.
The phlebotomist is contracted through a company and they are all AWFUL. Zero friendliness, and one put me in the emergency room after hitting a nerve and continuing the draw through extreme pain.
Front desk (Sarah) always seems to have a passive-aggressive vibe to her voice and choice of words. Not super warm, either.

Describe Obehi Asemota's approach to eSET (elective single embryo transfer) vs. multiple embryo transfer at Hope Fertility.
Dr A said she rarely transfers multiple embryos due to risks. Only if untested and in certain age ranges.
What specific things went wrong at Hope Fertility?
Dr.A was wonderful with presenting us with all the options as two moms to be. We were able to do reciprocal ivf for our first son and ivf for our twin boys...Dr. A is not only a compassionate physician but an ally to the community...She always took time to check on us and make sure we understood everything. We are now again successfully pregnant with twin boys through ivf ( one egg transfer) and so thankful to her for our beautiful family!
Hope Fertility couldn’t have been any more welcoming to our family! Both my wife and I were evaluated and Dr. Asemota provided all options for us to create our family...The staff quickly responds to questions on the portal (even on weekends) and they provide you with a day by day calendar of medicines and protocols. Dr. A is not only a compassionate physician but an ally to the community. What's one piece of advice would you give a prospective patient of Obehi Asemota at Hope Fertility?
Don’t wait, book your appointment now - even if you have had past failures with other doctors!
During treatment, were you treated like a number or a human with Obehi Asemota at Hope Fertility?
Dr. A went out of her way to get to know us and understand the family we were working to create.
How competent was Obehi Asemota at LGBTQ+ care?
Dr.A was wonderful with presenting us with all the options as two moms to be. We were able to do reciprocal ivf for our first son and ivf for our twin boys.
Describe your experience with Hope Fertility.
Dr. A treats you like a person and not just a number. She ensures that the best plan is in place for success and she’s supportive throughout the entire process (retrieval, transfer, etc.). There is so much to know and learn when going through this very sensitive process. The staff quickly responds to questions on the portal (even on weekends) and they provide you with a day by day calendar of medicines and protocols. They were also accommodating for scheduling monitoring appointments.
Describe the costs associated with your care under Obehi Asemota at Hope Fertility.
Compared to other offices that we visited during our initial stages of planning our family, Hope Fertility is significantly more affordable.
How competent was Hope Fertility at LGBTQ+ care?
Hope Fertility couldn’t have been any more welcoming to our family! Both my wife and I were evaluated and Dr. Asemota provided all options for us to create our family.
Describe your experience using 3rd party reproduction (donor eggs, donor sperm, or gestational carrier) at Hope Fertility.
It was super easy! California Cryo shipped directly to Hope Fertility.
Dr. Asemota was very knowledgeable, professional and warm. She was very upfront and realistic about treatment and cost. We were able to reach and communicate with her via a portal. She or the staff responded to us swiftly, even on weekends...She preferred a single transfer, however I advocated for a double transfer. Dr. A, thoroughly communicated the risks involved with a double transfer, and agreed to do so.
[Hope Fertility] Strengths: amazing, caring and knowledgeable staff. The process prior to the retrievable really set the bat high. Weaknesses: I didn’t feel as prioritized after the retrieval as I did prior to it...Dr. Asemota and her staff were very personable and informative. I was assigned a care partner (a nurse), in which I was able to message them at any time and they usually responded within a few hours. I felt very cared for.

Get comfortable with communicating via a messaging portal. I enjoyed it because I am comfortable with that level of communication, however I can understand if some patients preferred to communicate verbally.

I don’t recall the specific rationales for treatment, however I do know that they were explained prior to the treatment.
Describe your experience with your nurse at Hope Fertility. (Assigned nurse: Nelsa and Neicey )
My first coordinator (Nelsa) was amazing. She coordinated the treatment prior to the embryo transfer. She was very communicative, patient and knowledgeable.
My second coordinator, Neicey (after transfer), was not as amazing as Nelsa, however she was still very knowledgeable and caring.
Describe your experience with Hope Fertility.
Strengths: amazing, caring and knowledgeable staff. The process prior to the retrievable really set the bat high.
Weaknesses: I didn’t feel as prioritized after the retrieval as I did prior to it.
Describe the costs associated with your care under Obehi Asemota at Hope Fertility.
My health insurance covered the majority of the cost. The only thing we were responsible for was the double transfer fee (not covered by insurance). That price was $4,500.
Describe Obehi Asemota's approach to eSET (elective single embryo transfer) vs. multiple embryo transfer at Hope Fertility.
She preferred a single transfer, however I advocated for a double transfer. Dr. A, thoroughly communicated the risks involved with a double transfer, and agreed to do so.
During my retrieval cycle I saw her [Dr. Obehi Asemota] twice. Once for a monitoring appointment and again at my retrieval. She’s very nice and personable but didn’t introduce the person shadowing her and what that person’s role was. What we discussed during my consult wasn’t what happened. She told me we’d freeze on day 3 if it looked like my embryos wouldn’t make it, that didn’t happen. My embryos were frozen on days 5 and 6. The calendar she showed me wasn’t the one I received.
I love that Dr. A is the only doctor [at Hope Fertility] but that’s also a drawback as she doesn’t have much time for patients. My care was mostly done by nurses. The office is a bit small and when they try to cu me everyone around the same time it gets pretty crowded especially when others bring spouses or friends to monitoring appointments. Seating is limited as well as parking...There’s a lot of miscommunication, inconsistencies, lack of communication, and information hidden. The staff doesn’t seem to communicate around each other well.

Write everything she says. Ask to record the consult. Ask her to recap everything in an email. Keep a running list of questions. Ask her to meet the financial team, what her processes are for post retrieval and post transfer. Ask her if anyone will follow up with you.
During treatment, were you treated like a number or a human with Obehi Asemota at Hope Fertility?
It was a bit in the middle. I specifically transferred to see Dr. A. I saw her at my consult when we discussed my plan and calendar, one during my monitoring, and at my egg retrieval. The support staff never introduced themselves when coming to do ultrasounds. When I asked those names I got weird looks like I should know who they are.
Describe the protocols Obehi Asemota used in your cycles at Hope Fertility and their degree of success.
The rational was never explained to me so I don’t know why I have the treatment plan I do. I felt we could’ve been more aggressive, but I never got a chance to speak with her about it. .
Describe your experience with your nurse at Hope Fertility. (Assigned nurse: Nilsa)
Firstly, I do y know many of the staff as they never introduced themselves and didn’t seem to want to tell me their names. Nilsa, my nurse coordinator was easy to reach and was very personable until after my retrieval. I could barely reach her. We set a date and time to talk by phone to discuss my concerns and she never called. I had to call the office and speak to someone else. To date, I haven’t heard from Nilsa even though I’m told to speak with her about my next cycle.
I can’t send portal messages directly to her. It only allows messages to staff or front desk.
The nicest person is the phlebotomist, she has the best personality and is really sweet.
The other staff seem to hurry people in and out.

Describe the specific things that went wrong at Hope Fertility.
There’s a lot of miscommunication, inconsistencies, lack of communication, and information hidden. The staff doesn’t seem to communicate around each other well. The embryologist comes off as rude in messages and doesn’t answer any questions instead telling me to talk to the doctor, who the staff say I need and appointment to speak with but won’t set one.
Everything was semi-smooth until after transfer. After the transfer is when it went downhill. I tried to schedule my next retrieval but they claim they need proof my insurance paid the claims. My insurance has never heard of a clinic doing this and I have progyny insurance.
Dr Obehi was very caring, warm and up front about my options to freeze my eggs. She gave me her honest opinion while allowing me the space to take some time and think through my options. Even when I I still was fully sure about moving forward she offered that I at least do the baseline testing to see where I am. After the results came back and everything looked good I was assured that this was the time to freeze my eggs. She presented me with the full expectations of the timing, schedules and drugs which eased my mind...
Monitoring appointments [at Hope Fertility] were pretty seemless; bloodwork, urine, ultrasound. You’re pretty much in and out very quickly 30-40 mins...Nilsa was AMAZING! She was patient, thorough and persistent when it came to my drugs not coming on time. One clinic failed to deliver my order not once but twice. She personally called and gave them the business in a professional way but I was able to receive them the next day and still meet my expected timeline. Also on the day of retrieval she could sense I was very nervous and offered to hold my hand until I drifted asleep...

During treatment, were you treated like a number or a human with Obehi Asemota at Hope Fertility?
Dr. Asemota and her staff were extremely personable and empathetic at all times. The initial appointment was more of a conversation between friends with the insertion of medical suggestions based on my goals in fertility.
Describe the protocols Obehi Asemota used in your cycles at Hope Fertility and their degree of success.
Dr Asemota assessed that since I have not been on birth control in over a decade, that it would be best to start with a low dose birth control to prepare my body for the hormone treatments thereafter. It worked as I had very minimal side effects throughout the full course of medications
Describe your experience with your nurse at Hope Fertility. (Assigned nurse: Nilsa)
Ok Nilsa was AMAZING! She was patient, thorough and persistent when it came to my drugs not coming on time. One clinic failed to deliver my order not once but twice. Describe Obehi Asemota's approach to eSET (elective single embryo transfer) vs. multiple embryo transfer at Hope Fertility.
[Dr. Asemota] makes you feel as if you’re her only patient. During my first IUI procedure I was so nervous. She calmed me down by talking to me about my love of plants & before I knew it the procedure was over. When the 2 rounds of IUI were not successful she met with my husband & I and showed empathy. She assisted us in planning for our next steps, which are IVF...[she] makes sure that you have a full understanding & answers any questions you might have. She is the most personable Dr. I have ever had.
At Hope Fertility you feel like family! This is a boutique clinic so there is only one doctor. However, you never have long waits in the waiting room and it is never difficult to get an appointment. Describe the protocols Obehi Asemota used in your cycles at Hope Fertility and their degree of success.
I did 2 rounds of IUI with Dr. A. My protocol was 5mg of letrozole on cycle day 3-7. I was monitored after the letrozole and took a trigger shot about 24 hrs prior to IUI. My first IUI I had 2 mature follicles and my second IUI I had 3 mature follicles. Unfortunately, both rounds were unsuccessful.

Describe Obehi Asemota's approach to eSET (elective single embryo transfer) vs. multiple embryo transfer at Hope Fertility.
I appreciated my doctor letting me know that she was willing to do a multiple embryo transfer if I wanted to but any pregnancy that’s multiple is a little risky...Dr. A is extremely compassionate for every single person who walks into her office. She’s so open and helps you understand every single process you or your partner will be going through...
All of the staff at Hope is truly incredible, the patient coordinator and she is extremely informative and extremely helpful...This clinic is amazing. The small intimate atmosphere is what really caught my eye. The clinic is very sanitary and very organized. The only thing I wish was that maybe it would be a little bigger seating area...Monitoring appointments are tough because you are going so frequent. But the staff was very accommodating for my work schedule.
How was your experience with Obehi Asemota at Hope Fertility?
Dr. A is extremely compassionate for every single person who walks into her office. She’s so open and helps you understand every single process you or your partner will be going through. She’s very hopeful and I love how after years of infertility, some of that hope she has falls onto me. She is such a kind hearted woman and I truly see her as nothing but a blessing to me.
What's one piece of advice would you give a prospective patient of Obehi Asemota at Hope Fertility?
One piece of advice I’d give a patient is “be hopeful” I know it’s so hard when woman struggle with infertility. It’s hard to keep the hope alive after being let down so many times.
During treatment, were you treated like a number or a human with Obehi Asemota at Hope Fertility?
I love Dr. A’s facility just because of how small and intimate it is. I feel like going to such a big hospital people tend to look at you just as a number but with Dr. A, literally every staff member knows me on a first name basis. It feels like such a tight knit family when I walk into the door.
Describe the protocols Obehi Asemota used in your cycles at Hope Fertility and their degree of success.
I originally did an IUI with Dr. A, it was my third IUI but my first with her. Insurance denied my request to do IVF and they said another IUI cycle had to be done before IVF. So we did that and unfortunately it failed. We then moved onto IVF and right now I’m in the middle of that cycle. I am scheduled for an FET on April 18th if all goes well.

Describe your experience with your monitoring appointments at Hope Fertility.
Monitoring appointments are tough because you are going so frequent. But the staff was very accommodating for my work schedule.
Describe the costs associated with your care under Obehi Asemota at Hope Fertility.
My out of pocket cost is a little over 2,000 dollars because I did have insurance. Unfortunately insurance doesn’t cover everything. The 2,000 is the procedure alone. That doesn’t count the millions of meds I had to pay for out of pocket because I hadn’t hit my deductible yet or insurance just wasn’t covering that specific medicine.
Describe Obehi Asemota's approach to eSET (elective single embryo transfer) vs. multiple embryo transfer at Hope Fertility.
I appreciated my doctor letting me know that she was willing to do a multiple embryo transfer if I wanted to but any pregnancy that’s multiple is a little risky.
I feel like she [Dr. Asemota] has great potentials, but her clinic was just new when I went...I specifically remember them doing a salin ultrasound and were not and don't have all the equipment to even take pictures, Obehi just wrote note down and send me to a specialist to removed pyllops. Which I feel like that I was being charge for things they were not able to perform correctly...The environment is nice and cozy, I just honestly think I went when it was too new....
The clinic [Hope Fertility] had just open and therefore, they where just trying to "thrive" as they would say. I remember on of the NO [nurse] being so rude where my husband had to ask for a new one...Hope fertility is such a small clinic, so you just get bad vibes when you complain about the one out of two Nurse Practioner, they even share the same office...One time they gave me instructions to take my trigger and the amount she listed and the Vals were not correct I couldn't get an on call nurse, so I literally got in touch with the Dr on Instagram...
How was your experience with Obehi Asemota at Hope Fertility?
I feel like she has great potentials, but her clinic was just new when I went and I remember always hear them state "we thriving" but now that I realized it it was that there were afloat on the money coming in. I specifically remember them doing a salin ultrasound and were not and don't have all the equipment to even take pictures, Obehi just wrote note down and send me to a specialist to removed pyllops. Which I feel like that I was being charge for things they were not able to perform correctly.
What's one piece of advice would you give a prospective patient of Obehi Asemota at Hope Fertility?
I will say do you research and try to have some type of knoweledge of IVF or of whatever route you go. This will allow you to be able to advocate for yourself and ask the right questions.Aldo they will try to convince you that they are one of the cheapest but it's not true, search around. I can say they gave me a discount on my second retrevail after I negotiated.
During treatment, were you treated like a number or a human with Obehi Asemota at Hope Fertility?
The clinic had just open and therefore, they where just trying to "thrive" as they would say. I remember on of the NO being so rude where my husband had to ask for a new one. It was my first ever retrieval and I didn't even know what they were checking for in the ultrasound until like after my 4th monitor appointment and the dr came in to the room and said oh your eggs are looking good. I had no Idea that my follicles is what we were watching to grow, lol.

Describe your experience with your nurse at Hope Fertility. (Assigned nurse: Dunlap, Lajuinese)
She was the second one because the first one, who name was Sutton, Kristy, was not friendly at all. It was like a chore to ask her any question regarding my care. Hope fertility is such a small clinic, so you just get bad vibes when you complain about the one out of two Nurse Practioner, they even share the same office.
Describe your experience with Hope Fertility.
At the time I started they didn't have all the equipment hooked up, but I'm sure all that is together now, I mean the lab wasn't even completed when I first started, so I feel like I was just tagging along. The environment is nice and cozy, I just honestly think I went when it was too new. they went through a couple of front desk people in my time with them. So Celeste, which was awesome, we're doing more than one job sometimes. I learned and got more of my questions answered from Celeste and she was the office manager.
Describe the costs associated with your care under Obehi Asemota at Hope Fertility.
I paid roughly 27k for both cycles

Describe the specific things that went wrong at Hope Fertility.
One time they gave me instructions to take my trigger and the amount she listed and the Vals were not correct I couldn't get an on call nurse, so I literally got in touch with the Dr on Instagram, which was too late when wmshe replied. I had already google and prayed that I did the trigger correctly.
Dr Asemota cares for her patients as though they are her family and she provides direct, compassionate, competent care...She spoke with the pharmacist and made arrangements that they would not close until I arrived...I have never even heard of a physician being that engaged towards your needs but SHE is ALL IN!...you could have your labs drawn in her clinic or at an outside clinic. The process was very easy, smooth, and understandable
This clinic [Hope Fertility] is phenomenal! They are efficient yet compassionate, directed yet patient, and absolutely empathetic. I truly appreciate that they are a one stop shop for everything you need in your process and they are well attuned to what eachother is doing....They [nurses] all work as a team and Dr Asemota leads that team with grace and competence. Well oiled machine....
How was your experience with Obehi Asemota at Hope Fertility?
Dr Asemota cares for her patients as though they are her family and she provides direct, compassionate, competent care. These attributes may seem commonplace but I can assure you they are not, Dr Asemota and her practice are unique in all the right ways and she works towards your real version of success (or better) for you and your family.
The world talks about nurses and physicians as patient advocates. I truly see Dr Asemota as the advocate for my family...even though I do not have the entire family born just yet. She gave me confidence in her and myself, a realistic viewpoint, and treated me as though nothing was more important than me and the family I so long for.
I have referred every friend I have (and acquaintance) that seeks consultation or more to her - both in state and out of state. She is just that good and her care is just that necessary. I trust her with my family and I believe you should trust her with yours as well.
What's one piece of advice would you give a prospective patient of Obehi Asemota at Hope Fertility?

Describe the protocols Obehi Asemota used in your cycles at Hope Fertility and their degree of success.
I do not remember my specific protocols but I do remember that I took a specific regimen based on labs and obtained labs essentially once or twice a week thereafter to titrate the medications appropriately. This was made very easy because you could have your labs drawn in her clinic or at an outside clinic.
The process was very easy, smooth, and understandable.
I will share one thing specifically. I needed an induction dose of something (sorry, don't remember the name of the med) but it needed to be compounded I believe. I went to a pharmacy to pick it up and the pharmacy alerted me that 1) they do not make this medication and 2) the place that does is 45min away and they close in 30min. Dr Asemota was on it! She spoke with the pharmacist and made arrangements that they would not close until I arrived 67 minutes later (bad traffic!). I have never even heard of a physician being that engaged towards your needs but SHE is ALL IN!

Throughout my treatment, Dr. A., as she is affectionately known as, demonstrated a level of involvement that exceeded my expectations. When I would have appointments, the lobby was not too full. I was called back individually and was able to speak with the doctor candidly. She is very caring and involved throughout the entries process.
Describe the protocols Obehi Asemota used in your cycles at Hope Fertility and their degree of success.
Dr Asemota was our 3rd and FINAL Fertility Doctor. In my experience, Dr. Asemota employed a controlled ovarian stimulation protocol, Regular monitoring through ultrasounds and blood tests were conducted to assess follicular growth.
Once the follicles reach an optimal size, a trigger shot, was administered to induce ovulation. Following the egg retrieval, ICSI was performed successfully, the blastocysts grew and were prepared to be frozen at day 5. Two embryos were transferred. This resulted in positive pregnancy test. Unfortunately, we did not have embryos tested the first round and both fetuses had irregular chromosomes. One died at 9 weeks, spontaneously, and a few weeks later, the pregnancy was then terminated.
In our final attempt, my husband and I opted for donor eggs. We purchased 6. We used ICSI and PGTA testing and had 3 “normal” resulting embryos. I went through the transfer protocol for 1 embryo using progesterone and estradiol, etc and this also resulted in a positive pregnancy which I am currently 18 weeks pregnant and baby is measuring “perfectly” the OB doctor says.
Describe your experience with your nurse at Hope Fertility. (Assigned nurse: Lajuinese “Neicey” Dunlap)
I had the pleasure of working with a remarkable nurse coordinator, Neicey, during my fertility treatment journey, and I can't emphasize enough how invaluable her support was. From the very beginning, she exuded warmth and empathy, instantly putting me at ease during a time filled with uncertainties and emotions.
Her guidance and expertise were evident in every interaction. She was not only highly knowledgeable about the entire process but also had a unique ability to explain complex medical details in a clear, understandable manner. This made me feel informed and empowered throughout my treatment.
What truly set her apart, however, was her genuine concern for my well-being. She listened attentively to my concerns, offering reassurance and practical advice when needed. Her calming presence provided a sense of comfort during moments of doubt, and I always felt heard and supported.
In the midst of a challenging and often overwhelming journey, having such a compassionate and knowledgeable nurse coordinator by my side was an absolute blessing. I am grateful for Neicey’s unwavering support and the crucial role she played in making this process as smooth and positive as possible. Her caring nature and expertise are truly exceptional, and I am confident that she brings comfort and confidence to every patient she encounters.

Their genuine care and expertise make them an invaluable resource for anyone navigating the path to parenthood.
Describe the costs associated with your care under Obehi Asemota at Hope Fertility.
As self pay patient, IVF protocol was $10,500. Embryo only Transfer of donor egg was $4500. HSG test was about $1200. Bloodwork was generally included in the cost unless there was a “special” test that needed to be done. Semen analysis was about $300
Describe Obehi Asemota's approach to eSET (elective single embryo transfer) vs. multiple embryo transfer at Hope Fertility.
Dr Asemota asked if I wanted to transfer 2 or 1 embryos in our first attempt with transfer with her. Because we did not elect to have PGTA testing, it was explained to us that there may be a chance that one embryo would not survive, and this may increase our chances of a successful pregnancy for 1 baby. On our second attempt with tested embryos. She also asked if we wanted to elect to have two embryos transferred, but emphasized the risks of a twin pregnancy. When I expressed my concerns, she gave me plenty of information, took note of my concerns and recommended a single embryo transfer, which we opted for.
She [Dr. Obehi Asemota] listens, good bedside manner, doesn't beat around the bush, and skilled. She would always find my ovaries that loved to hide always when the nurses found it them difficult to find. I particularly like her cos I feel like she's personable...In both cycles, Antagonist protocol was used. My dose was upped in the 2nd cycle after 1st was cancelled due to low follicular response at day 9 of stims. 2nd cycle led to retrieval of 12 mature eggs. 6 blasts, 4Pgta normal embryos
They [nursing staff at Hope Fertility] were quick to update information on portal, Phone calls aren't their best suit but portal very effective...Quick visits, Quality care. They also give you financial aid information if needed. I was self pay so I had some visits where I was requested to pay before service and wasnt warned ahead of time. Besides that I love the care I received.

Describe your experience with your monitoring appointments at Hope Fertility.
It was a breeze. Longest I stayed was 45 minutes because I wanted to see Dr Asemota personally and she had other patients she was attending to at that moment.
Total time for Bloodwork and ultrasounds usually lasted about 15- 20mins

Dr Asemota is very kind and does a good job explaining options, she was open to tweaking my regimen to get the best outcome...she takes her time to explain risk verse benefit and our options. She did switch up the dates for egg retrieval because she felt that she could get more eggs if we waited. I loved that...I was supposed to have egg retrieval on a Tuesday, she switched it to Wednesday because after seeing the ultrasound of my ovaries, she thought she could get a few more mature eggs if we waited one more day...
The nursing staff [Hope Fertility] was attentive knowledgeable and quick to answer portal messages and send medications in...sometimes my regimen wasn’t completely clear to me especially doing it the first time. But I was able to write a portal message and get clarification within the same day...Clinic strengths are being attentive and working around my schedule...staff is knowledgeable and responsive to portal messages. Hope Fertility is a fully functioning boutique fertility clinic...
How was your experience with Obehi Asemota at Hope Fertility?
She’s kind, she’s knowledgeable, she takes her time to explain risk verse benefit and our options. She did switch up the dates for egg retrieval because she felt that she could get more eggs if we waited. I loved that. If we are here spending this money doing these injections every egg counts. (Verses my friends at the big conglomerates that their process is very scheduled and sometimes their doctor doesn’t even do their procedure!) Dr Asemota is a dream. So glad I chose her.
What's one piece of advice would you give a prospective patient of Obehi Asemota at Hope Fertility?
Do not wait. Go right now to find out your status and options. You will feel comfortable with the warm feeling of her boutique clinic. You will be treated like a human being. If you want to conceive or preserve your ability to conceive in the future, schedule today.
During treatment, were you treated like a number or a human with Obehi Asemota at Hope Fertility?
Dr Asemota is very kind and does a good job explaining options, she was open to tweaking my regimen to get the best outcome. Example: I was supposed to have egg retrieval on a Tuesday, she switched it to Wednesday because after seeing the ultrasound of my ovaries, she thought she could get a few more mature eggs if we waited one more day! Her staff is knowledgeable and responsive to portal messages. Hope Fertility is a fully functioning boutique fertility clinic. I felt like a human being. Not a number. Going to the clinic feels like family. Not a sterile dry transactional place that the big fertility conglomerates may feel like. This process is already hard enough. That warm feeling of walking into Hope Fertility, gives you hope.
Describe the protocols Obehi Asemota used in your cycles at Hope Fertility and their degree of success.

Describe your experience with your nurse at Hope Fertility. (Assigned nurse: Kristi)
The nursing staff was attentive knowledgeable and quick to answer portal messages and send medications in. When I came into clinic thinking I had a miscarriage with the twins, they were kind to my crying spell. And they went into action and took some blood, did my vitals, and accelerated getting me an unplanned ultrasound to make sure the babies were ok. I felt much better after this experience. Kristi, was my main coordinator but there were multiple other ladies that made me feel special.
Describe your experience with Hope Fertility.
Clinic strengths are being attentive and working around my schedule. I’m a physician and have patients myself. They always made my lab draws and ultrasounds first thing in the morning so that I could head to work and make a living.
Weaknesses: sometimes my regimen wasn’t completely clear to me especially doing it the first time. But I was able to write a portal message and get clarification within the same day.
Describe the costs associated with your care under Obehi Asemota at Hope Fertility.
My insurance paid for 80%.
My meds cost about $500 per cycle.
My labs and ultrasound were covered by insurance.
The actual egg retrieval and ICSI and transfer cost $14,000 before insurance portion was taken out.
$600 per year for embryo storage.
Describe Obehi Asemota's approach to eSET (elective single embryo transfer) vs. multiple embryo transfer at Hope Fertility.
She prefers single embryo transfer due to risks of multiple. When my husband specifically asked she educated us completely. First transfer in May 2022 we decided to go with one embryo transfer which was unsuccessful. The second time August 2022 we decided to transfer 2 with hopes of 1 implanting. Lucky for us, both implanted and we expect twins in spring 2023!!
Dr. Asemota is incredibly caring, patient, and so calming. Answered all of my plethora of questions (every time) in such a comprehensive and understanding way. No question was too small. She always tried to make the environment calming even asking me what music I wanted to listen to! She never made me feel rushed. She is the best...
The waiting room [at Hope Fertility] is stock with snacks, coffee, water. It’s such a nice thing on top of everything else. The front desk staff is always really nice. Billing was always very transparent and accessible...this was a smaller clinic and I felt I received very personalized attention. I never felt like a number and was always able to contact Dr.A or someone on her staff when I needed it...

What's one piece of advice would you give a prospective patient of Obehi Asemota at Hope Fertility?
If you go through a retrieval process, figuring out the medications can be a little overwhelming. Sometimes the names are different than what’s listed in the calendar so at the beginning, you have to figure out what’s what, how much to take, etc. One medication I had to purchase from a specialty pharmacy overnight, separately from the others so make sure to plan ahead. There’s just a lot of medications all at once so it can be confusing.
During treatment, were you treated like a number or a human with Obehi Asemota at Hope Fertility?
I value that this was a smaller clinic and I felt I received very personalized attention. I never felt like a number and was always able to contact Dr.A or someone on her staff when I needed it.
Describe your experience with your nurse at Hope Fertility. (Assigned nurse: Neicey)
Neicey is awesome. Incredibly friendly and she really knows what she’s doing. She’s on top of it and will call you to let you know if the labs are running behind. Amazing experience. I was also happy to see Neicey on my procedure days because she always made me feel calmer and nice to see a friendly face. Neicey answered when I called twice after hours and on a holiday weekend. She was still so sweet and kind though I know how difficult it is to be on call. I couldn’t have made it without her.
Describe your experience with Hope Fertility.
There’s no weaknesses. It’s the ideal clinic experience! I highly recommend this clinic for future patients. The waiting room is stock with snacks, coffee, water. It’s such a nice thing on top of everything else. The front desk staff is always really nice. Billing was always very transparent and accessible.

How was your experience with Obehi Asemota at Hope Fertility?
Dr. Asemota has been with us through many months of fertility treatments as well as two surrogates. Our first surrogate was a complete fiasco, and my wife and I felt very fortunate to have the professionalism and support of Dr. Asemota through this whole process. When we brought our current (second) surrogate in, Dr. Asemota informed us that she was leaving her previous employer to open up her current company, Hope Fertility, and we decided to make the move with her. We could not be happier. As an LGBTQ couple, we have never felt more welcome and accepted by her. The whole experience that we and our surrogate have had makes us feel confident in recommending her and her clinic to anyone, including LGBTQ couples, seeking out fertility clinics.

Unfortunately, it has been a very long time since my wife took the fertility drugs to enable the egg retrieval for our surrogate and that was done at the previous fertility company. But I do know that we did genetic testing and gender reveal and we know that we are having a boy

Dr. A made us feel comfortable from day one. She answered every question we had and her knowledge is unmatched. Even if my appointment wasn’t with her that day, I would always see her and she would say hi and check in. We are so thankful for her...My best example is during egg retrieval. I was having a really hard time emotionally. Dr. A made a point to come talk to me during my appointment. She eased my mind and gave a big hug. So thankful for her.
I think Hope is a wonderful facility. Very clean and well staffed. Extremely knowledgeable doctor, nurses and front desk. I felt comfortable and fully aware of my care throughout the entirety of our experience. We are going through surrogacy for the first time so with this all being new to us, we were so thankful for the guidance from Dr. A and her staff...[nurse] Kristie was great.
