Attention to Detail

Attention to detail is on a 1 - 10 scale, and is scored based on the rate, and severity, of errors committed by the clinic according to the patients.

For example, a severe error might be failing to inform a patient of critical information, while a small error might be failing to call a patient with results.

CDC Success Rates

This is the most recent data from the CDC. The CDC cautions that it should not be used to compare doctors and clinics. This data represents the outcomes of IVF cycles when using a person's own eggs.

For more information please see our FAQs.

Where you see a “?” on the chart, a clinic has done fewer than 20 cycles in this category and age range, so the CDC says showing percentages from this small data set would be misleading and unreliable.

DR. PARRY [Positive Steps Fertility] DOES NOT USE A PATIENT PORTAL...You can’t see any of your records, labs or imaging on a portal. They force you to pay $25 EACH TIME you request any sort of record...The front office staff usually has NO idea what is going on when you call. They don't recognize you or greet you by name because there's always someone different at the front desk. The front desk personnel have zero medical knowledge or familiarity with reasoning for various appointment types and will always have to redirect you to a callback from a nurse (variable response time). The nurses are okay - but this is a huge pain if you work normal business hours and have to sit around waiting for a call just for a simple question or to schedule a time sensitive appointment...
How was your experience with Preston Parry at Positive Steps Fertility?
Everyone has their own personality and bedside manner preference. In my experience, Dr. Parry was not a good fit. Take my experience for what it’s worth and decide what you’re looking for in an REI. I wouldn’t recommend him to any of my family and friends after my experience. Pros: - Mississippi has a failing fertility service rating and there are very limited options for reproductive endocrinology specialists and insurance coverage in the area. Dr. Parry may be the only specialist you were able to see you in a timely manner since he runs a private clinic (in contrast to the academic clinic nearby). - During your initial visit, Dr. Parry makes an effort to be conversational and get to know you. I didn’t have this same experience on subsequent visits though and when I had a follow-up after a miscarriage he simply repeated the same “one-liner” statistical facts he told us at the first appointment. - If you are already very aware of your infertility status and are seeking a physician with a VERY aggressive treatment approach - Dr. Parry might be a good fit for you. He seems to push the boundaries of the upper limit on medication dosages compared to other RE’s and encourages patients to pursue the intervention that guarantees the highest chance of success in his opinion to boost outcomes. We did not feel comfortable with this, but that might be perfect for someone else. Cons: - DR. PARRY DOES NOT USE A PATIENT PORTAL. This is a HUGE pain. You can’t see any of your records, labs or imaging on a portal. They force you to pay $25 EACH TIME you request any sort of record, which is absurd. HIPAA requires access to your personal medical information and this can be cost-prohibitive to couples already paying ridiculous amounts for fertility treatments. This is not the standard at any other REI or OBGYN clinic I have visited and it’s a huge hassle on top of all the fertility visits and records patients have to keep track of on top of life. - If you’re looking for a holistic fertility specialist who will work to develop a better understanding of possible underlying hormonal conditions (e.g. PCOS), this likely is NOT the clinic for you. During our visit, Dr. Parry indicated that weight loss likely wouldn’t improve my conception rate (contradictory to ASRM guidelines that suggest even marginal weight loss improves PCOS fertility outcomes) and did not rule out any other hormonal disorders that may be causing cycle abnormalities. He doesn’t believe in taking specific vitamins/supplements and does not offer any diet or lifestyle recommendations. We switched to a different out-of-state REI and the difference in this approach was HUGE. Our new REI did a comprehensive workup and found factors affecting our fertility that Dr. Parry failed to investigate or overlooked. Our new REI also offered a lot of support for lifestyle changes that were never mentioned at the Positive Steps Clinic. - Dr. Parry uses a cookie-cutter approach to evaluation and ovulation induction medication dosages. He will not review any detailed home cycle tracking (e.g. urine hormone testing, average ovulation day) except average period lengths. As a result, he tried to do a monitoring ultrasound for ovulation way too early and put me on even more medication - I already know that my ovulation occurs later in my cycle and he confirmed this on ultrasound (which was a waste of money to perform this early). There were several cycle months where I knew I didn’t ovulate and he still counted this as part of the “failure to conceive” cycle count - you can't get pregnant with timed intercourse if you don't ovulate during a cycle. He continued to use the TTC month count to say our chances of conceiving were lower and to pressure us into IUI with scripted claims about diminishing statistical chances of success. We felt extremely gaslit and turned off by this - especially now that subsequent REI's have disputed these claims. We were very explicit about wanting to continue with medicated cycles with timed intercourse due to religious beliefs and personal fertility goals. We also discussed wanting to pursue further labs to rule out any underlying causes for abnormal cycles and no further testing was done. - Dr. Parry ignored the fact that I was consistently recording ovulation with LH OPK’s (I made a point to inform him of this) when evaluating our treatment plan 8 months after our initial consultation after suffering a miscarriage. He proceeded to place me on high dose medications (unnecessary) and this caused ovarian cysts to develop. These cysts caused us to have to skip several cycles of treatment with a different RE and set us back. Other RE’s we visited after Dr. Parry were shocked that he placed me on such a high dose of ovulation inducing medication. This is extremely concerning to me since he never warned me about potential risks of increasing the dose that high. - Dr. Parry doesn’t have a very gentle approach during ultrasounds or the hysteroscopy. I don’t feel like he gave great notice when he was doing different maneuvers or cervix during imaging which makes these invasive encounters very awkward and uncomfortable. This is likely personal preference though, but any gynecologic exam should be treated with a gentle approach and continued communication with the patient. - Dr. Parry explains findings on ultrasounds and hysteroscopy VERY quickly which makes it difficult to take notes, especially if your partner isn’t there to take notes for you. To make matters worse, the clinic does not provide a summary of any findings without a special record request and $25 record request fee. You have to keep track of a piece of paper for med recommendations and timing instead of having printed instructions or an online portal to reference. This is extremely problematic when they are monitoring follicle sizes in order to modify medication and determine the correct day to administer HCG trigger injections. - Dr. Parry loves data and tries to use this to impress patients and establish credibility. If you or your partner don’t have a statistics or medical background this may be overwhelming. The problem is that he manipulates statistics without considering your unique medical history and lab results. He also ignores evidence-based reproductive medicine protocols and research that he does not personally agree with - for example, he does not believe that progesterone deficiency can contribute to pregnancy loss (contradictory to research and other REI specialists) and will not provide luteal phase progesterone supplementation for medicated cycles which is a common protocol used at fertility clinics. - I had to argue with him to insist on trying a minimally invasive treatment approach I wanted to try (HCG trigger injection with timed intercourse). We had already paid for the HCG injection to be sent by the clinic from an out of state pharmacy and this would have gone to waste if I hadn’t advocated to use it. He insisted that it was a waste to use the trigger shot without IUI, which contradicts approaches that many other fertility clinics use. I had to fight for our goals and preferences every step of the way with Dr. Parry and it was exhausting. All of this took a HUGE mental and emotional toll on my husband and myself. The lack of respect for our goals, that we clearly vocalized, was disgusting. - When asking questions, he often does not address the specific question you asked and typically reiterates the specific “one liners” he uses during patient appointments. Bring a list of questions ahead of time because it always feels rushed when you are asked if you have any other questions. - Dr. Parry likes to market his “patented” hysteroscopy technique used as an alternative to a hysterosalpingogram to evaluated for uterine or tubal abnormalities. There is nothing special about this procedure - it is really just a Femvue Sono HSG and it’s a standard procedure done by many REI’s around the country (More info here FemVue: Fallopian Tube http://www.femvue.com). Not only did this procedure cost $1000, but he falsely suggested I had a tubal blockage which was later found to be incorrect by a follow-up HSG and ultrasound with a different RE. The Parryscope was a waste of money, and we spend MONTHS thinking I had a potential tubal blockage which altered our treatment approach.
What's one piece of advice would you give a prospective patient of Preston Parry at Positive Steps Fertility?
You will have to be your own advocate. If you don't have familiarity with medicine or fertility treatments, I discourage this clinic. You have to bring a list of questions to make sure you cover these during rushed appointments.
During treatment, were you treated like a number or a human with Preston Parry at Positive Steps Fertility?
Dr. The nurses are okay - but this is a huge pain if you work normal business hours and have to sit around waiting for a call just for a simple question or to schedule a time sensitive appointment. Dr. Parry stays busy because he also has a satellite clinic in another state he splits his time at because fertility doctors are so limited in the deep south.
Describe the protocols Preston Parry used in your cycles at Positive Steps Fertility and their degree of success.
Cycle 1) medicated cycle with 5 mg letrozole day 3-8, monitoring ultrasound day 10 with timed intercourse - Unsuccessful Cycle 2) medicated cycle with 7.5 mg letrozole day 3-8 and 10-12, monitoring ultrasound day 10, HCG shot day 15 - Unsuccessful, left ovarian cyst
Describe your experience with the nursing staff at Positive Steps Fertility.
The front office staff usually has NO idea what is going on when you call. They have zero medical knowledge and will always have to redirect you to a callback from a nurse. The nurses are okay - but this is a huge pain if you work normal business hours and have to sit around waiting for a call just for a simple question or to schedule a time-sensitive appointment. God bless the nurse names Lauren - she was extremely compassionate and empathetic when she called me with unfortunate HCG results (I hope she knows how appreciated this truly was). The majority of the other nurses I interacted with were ill-informed and difficult to communicate with.
Describe your experience with Positive Steps Fertility.
Scheduling and communication is a huge hassle due to the reception and nurse set-up. Not being able to message staff/Dr. Parry through a patient portal is a HUGE drawback. Something simple that could be sent through a message ends up being a call and wasting time. This makes it extremely hard to communicate with them if you work normal business hours or have a demanding work schedule (They open at 8 AM and close at 4PM). I wouldn't recommend this clinic because of this.
Describe the costs associated with your care under Preston Parry at Positive Steps Fertility.
$150 - New patient consult appointment $1000 - "Parryscope" - hysteroscopy with saline US $275 - Monitoring ultrasound $50 - Follow up consultation fees per appointment

Describe the specific things that went wrong at Positive Steps Fertility.
Trying to obtain records when we transferred care was a huge hassle. They force you to pay $25 each time you request any sort of record, which is absurd and easily avoided by using a patient portal. HIPAA requires access to your personal medical information and this can be cost-prohibitive to couples already paying ridiculous amounts for fertility treatments. It's also ridiculous that monitoring ultrasound details aren't just printed out for the patient so they can keep track of this. There are so many records to keep track of during fertility treatments and this caused a lot of unnecessary stress trying to take personal notes of results and instructions. I was also never provided detailed invoices to submit for insurance/HSA account. It took days for them to complete these requests and the front desk usually did not know how to help with this. These are simple things that could be provided without having to ask.

Dr. Parry has been phenomenal. He explains everything in an easy to understand manner, but does not talk down to you. He answers all questions thoroughly and addresses your concerns with thoughtfulness and honesty. He has a compassionate manner and I believe truly wants the best for his patients. We had a giant setback that even he didn't expect and he has worked with us to make it right.
The [Positive Steps Fertility] clinic is clean and modern. They schedule appointments so that you never have to wait very long, and the waiting room is never crowded. The front office staff and the financial staff are so nice and always willing to help. I can't say enough good things about this clinic... I love that Dr. Parry is the only doctor in the clinic. I like the individualized care and that fact I'm not bouncing from one provider to the next.

The staff and Dr. Perry make you feel like they know you personally. They are very upbeat and call you by name. I don't feel at all like I'm a number or something to make them money.
Describe the protocols Preston Parry used in your cycles at Positive Steps Fertility and their degree of success.
Dr. Parry was supportive of trying multiple cycles of IUI. He prices them in packages of three, including the ultrasounds. He has very reasonable pricing! We took letrozole, in varying dosages, prior to an ultrasound. At the ultrasound, we would schedule the IUI date. The actual IUI process is very fast and for me, relatively painless- only a few light cramps. After 14 days, we were instructed to take a pregnancy test. After 6 IUIs, we decided to move on to IVF. I took birth control for about a month to prep for stimulation. I started with Lupron for two weeks, then added Gonal F and Menopur. I started responding too well to the meds, so the dosages were lowered twice during monitoring. He wanted to wait two more days before we did the retrieval, but said it would not be safe to do so because I was overstimulated. So we did the egg retrieval and he retrieved 62 eggs, the clinic record at the time. I have PCOS, so we knew that likelihood that I would have a lot of eggs was high. I did develop OHSS, but it was moderate. I did have to have fluid drained once, but thankfully was never hospitalized nor did I experience vomiting. Dr. Parry had told me that OHSS was fairly likely given my PCOS. Unfortunately, we only wound up with one day 7 embryo. We froze the embryo so I could heal from the OHSS. We transferred the embryo a few months later, but it did not result in a pregnancy. We are hoping to do a second egg retrieval and have a better outcome since we will know better how my body reacts to stimulation meds.
Describe your experience with the nursing staff at Positive Steps Fertility.
The nursing staff at Positive Steps is fantastic. I worked with Ms. Vicky during my IUIs and she is so incredible. She is compassionate, funny, and very positive. She was willing to answer all my questions anytime I came in for an appointment or called. I worked with Lauren during my IVF cycle. She was so great as well. She gave me her personal cell phone number and told me she would facetime me if I needed help during stims. I also was able to text her afterhours due to a concern about OHSS and she responded quickly. I always felt Lauren was willing to help and really cared about me.

Describe the costs associated with your care under Preston Parry at Positive Steps Fertility.
The first IUI Package was $1,100. That included three IUIs and three ultrasounds. I needed an additional ultrasound once, and I believe it was $125. The second IUI Package had gone up to $1200. Dr. Parry has a scope called the Parryscope he was created that is an alternative to an HSG. It was $900 when we did it the first time, $1,000 the second time. It uses saline and a camera to scope the uterus and tubes. It was not painful at all, only slight cramping afterwards. IVF was $12,687 and included my husband and my bloodwork, monitoring ultrasounds, egg retrieval, ICSI and up to four embryo transfers and pregnancy tests in office. It did not include medication or OB sonograms. Medication was quoted at $4,500-6,500. We purchased our medication from Alexander's Twin Pharmacy, a mail-order pharmacy, at the recommendation of the clinic. We paid $4,074 for meds. Because I had OHSS, I needed IV fluids and fluid drained from my abdomen. That was $600 and was performed in the clinic. Positive Steps does not file insurance, as Mississippi does not mandate fertility coverage. Part of the time we had insurance from another state, so we were able to file some of the charges ourselves, and received a reimbursement of about $2,000.
Describe Preston Parry's approach to eSET (elective single embryo transfer) vs. multiple embryo transfer at Positive Steps Fertility.
Dr. Parry generally prefers to transfer a single embryo, but will discuss transferring two if your situation warrants it or if you wish to do so.

After having the "Parryscope" diagnostic procedure I learned that I had a retroverted uterus and my right Fallopian tube had a blockage...I had already been diagnosed with PCOS by my OBGYN but Dr. Parry was the first person that really explained to me how many follicles I had on each side and what that meant for me as a patient...respectful of your wishes and doesn't push you in a direction that you don't want to go. They [Positive Steps Fertility] do not accept insurance and you pretty much have to pay out of pocket at the time of service...I had a nurse perform my first IUI which I wasn't all the way comfortable with..."spa" feel to it and feels luxurious. I never have to wait when I go because they are so prompt... If I called with questions someone always got back to me by the end of the day.
How was your experience with Preston Parry at Positive Steps Fertility?
Dr. Parry is a really kind doctor. He was very thorough in my initial consultation. He is extremely knowledgeable about fertility and treatment options. He is really respectful of your wishes and doesn't push you in a direction that you don't want to go. He lets you lead your own fertility journey in a way. I can say I appreciated him and respected him as a doctor. I may go back to him for IVF monitoring since he is so close to me and my current clinic is almost 3 hours away.
What's one piece of advice would you give a prospective patient of Preston Parry at Positive Steps Fertility?
My advice to a prospective Dr. Parry patient is to research and ask questions. Dr. Parry is very thorough but researching your options beforehand and costs will give you a general idea of how you want your fertility journey to go. Ask for diagnostic testing as in lab work. My current RE was a little surprised that I hadn't had baseline lab work drawn. Also, be prepared to have a "Parryscope". It is his own technique that he created of examining your uterus and Fallopian tubes. I believe its a type of ultrasound guided, saline infused hysteroscopy.
During treatment, were you treated like a number or a human with Preston Parry at Positive Steps Fertility?
I felt like a human because the staff was always friendly and courteous. I never had any issues scheduling an appointment. If I called with questions someone always got back to me by the end of the day. I felt like the staff took the time to answer all of my questions when I went into the office for appointments. I had a good experience with this clinic even though my husband and I did not conceive while patients there. .
Describe the protocols Preston Parry used in your cycles at Positive Steps Fertility and their degree of success.
After having the "Parryscope" diagnostic procedure I learned that I had a retroverted uterus and my right Fallopian tube had a blockage. The procedure also showed that I had several follicles on each side typical of patients with PCOS. I had already been diagnosed with PCOS by my OBGYN but Dr. Parry was the first person that really explained to me how many follicles I had on each side and what that meant for me as a patient. After my diagnostic procedure, I ended up getting accepted to a new program of study and decided to put my fertility journey on hold. I then returned to Dr. Parry almost a year later ready to begin again. We picked up were we left off. Dr. Parry put me on 5mg of Letrozole which was an increase from the 2.5 my OBGYN had me taking for three months prior to starting my IUIs with Parry. I had spoken with the nurse and told her that I had my progesterone level checked while taking the 2.5 mg and that my level was 22.6. She stated that Dr. Parry still wanted to increase the dosage slightly because he felt like it would give me a better chance of producing a mature egg on both sides. I began taking Letrozole 5mg and having transvaginal ultrasounds. He told me that if I had a mature egg on the left, we would proceed with IUI for that cycle. I was able to have three IUI cycles which he offers in 3 sessions for one set price. I had a nurse perform my first IUI which I wasn't all the way comfortable with, however Dr. Parry performed all of the rest them. All three attempts were unsuccessful and did not result in pregnancy.
Describe your experience with your nurse at Positive Steps Fertility. (Assigned nurse: Ms. Vicki)
Ms. Vicki is so awesome. She is Dr. Parry's head nurse and she is the person who would answer all my questions if I called later on. She would always call me back no matter what. Sometimes it would even be after clinic. The other nurses are always nice and friendly.
Describe your experience with Positive Steps Fertility.
Some strengths of the clinic is timeliness, cleanliness, and availability. Someone is always available for you whenever you need them. The clinic has a "spa" feel to it and feels luxurious. I never have to wait when I go because they are so prompt. The clinic has very few weaknesses, I just felt like I needed a different approach to my fertility journey.
Describe the costs associated with your care under Preston Parry at Positive Steps Fertility.
I've probably spent roughly $2,500 total under Dr. Parry. The "Parryscope" procedure I had was about $1100 in 2018. The IUIs was about $1000 and that included 3 ultrasounds in 2019. Other costs include consultation fees and office visit fees. They do not accept insurance and you pretty much have to pay out of pocket at the time of service.

He’s [Dr. Preston Parry] very genuine and kind. He also sit down and talk with you 1 on 1 something that most doctors doesn’t do! He always be sure to ask is their anything else that he can tell you before he end the conversation...very good at explaining things...didn’t want to transfer that 1 because it was aneuploid as they say. That really sadden me that I didn’t have any eggs to transfer
I honestly don’t have anything bad to say about Positive Steps Fertility. The nurses are very kind and helpful and you can always call them if you need anything or have any questions even if it’s not urgent they still find time to call you back before the day was over...They’re very good at explaining things(Doctor&Nurses). They actually show that they care!

I was put on Lupron 10ccm injections every night at 11:26pm then about roughly a week in a half following behind that I started my Menopur injections with the liquid and powder mix 1ml every morning at 11:30am. About a week after that I started my Follistim 300mg and I injected that with my Lupron at 11:26pm every night. Then about 36hrs before my retrieval I did an HCG injection on a Monday at 9:00pm in my buttocks/Hip and my retrieval was done at 9:30 on a Wednesday morning where 14eggs were retrieved.Six of those eggs turned out to be mature while the other 8 weren’t. Five out of 6 turned out to be normal while only 1 was abnormal. Five were injected with my husband sperm and 4 of them stop growing after day 3 while only 1 made it to the Blastocyst stage and was sent off for PGT-A testing and that 1 was missing a chromosome (number 4 to be exact). So Dr.Parry didn’t want to transfer that 1 because it was aneuploid as they say. That really sadden me that I didn’t have any eggs to transfer
Describe your experience with the nursing staff at Positive Steps Fertility.

Describe your experience with Positive Steps Fertility.
I honestly don’t have anything bad to say about Positive Steps Fertility. The nurses are very kind and helpful and you can always call them if you need anything or have any questions even if it’s not urgent they still find time to call you back before the day was over
Describe the costs associated with your care under Preston Parry at Positive Steps Fertility.
I paid out 15,489 all together for the treatment that includes PGT-A testing. But that’s not including what I paid out for the medicine
Describe Preston Parry's approach to eSET (elective single embryo transfer) vs. multiple embryo transfer at Positive Steps Fertility.
We never made it to that stage to get opinions on transfer because in the end I didn’t have any eggs to transfer

Dr. Parry has been exceptional. I have had personal setbacks in the plan due to miscarriage and Dr. Parry has made new plans going forward that would best benefit my husband and I. He has told me the pros and cons of every part of our infertility journey. Dr. Parry has put hope into my future that I thought I had lost.
This clinic [Positive Steps Fertility] was easily accessible. I did not have to go through numerous referral processes and different doctors. The staff was able to set me up very quickly and get started on a plan. Strengths I would like to mention are compassion, cleanliness, and overall sensitivity. I have been going to this clinic for a little over 8 months and even though I have had some upsetting news at times I never felt that my clinic was at fault.

He has told me the pros and cons of every part of our infertility journey. Dr. Parry has put hope into my future that I thought I had lost.
What's one piece of advice would you give a prospective patient of Preston Parry at Positive Steps Fertility?
My advice would be to remain hopeful. Dr. Parry is there to give chances at a life that may not be possible without his help.
During treatment, were you treated like a number or a human with Preston Parry at Positive Steps Fertility?
Dr. Parry treats my husband and I wonderfully. He has shown us unconditional support even if we chose a plan that wasn’t the first recommended plan.
Describe the protocols Preston Parry used in your cycles at Positive Steps Fertility and their degree of success.
I had the Parry Scope done with Dr. Parry. I was given all the info I needed before hand and told that a small percentage has severe pain with the procedure. Because I expected this and was warned I was not caught off guard with the pain. I was also advised the best ways to help treat the pain after the visit. I also had a cycle of letrozole at 7.5 mg. This gave my follicles that we’re too large and caused too high a risk of multiples that would be dangerous for me. Dr. Parry carefully explained to me why it would not be a good idea to try for that cycle in a way that I understood. Soon I will be starting IVF with Dr. Parry and he has personally answered every question that my husband and I have had.
Describe your experience with your nurse at Positive Steps Fertility. (Assigned nurse: Sara NP)
The nursing staff have went above and beyond for my husband and I. They have answered every question that I have and even encouraged me to make a list so that way nothing is forgotten. They have shown such compassion by sitting with me as I cried and even offered encouraging words.

Describe the costs associated with your care under Preston Parry at Positive Steps Fertility.
Soon I will be starting IVF which is rather pricey. They have been upfront about what cost is included and what is not. They even go as far to give a cost if something was to go wrong and further treatment is needed. The staff have made a list of common banks that other patients have used to get a loan for the process. Overall to have the IVF, genetic testing, medications, and transfers it is roughly $20,000.
Describe Preston Parry's approach to eSET (elective single embryo transfer) vs. multiple embryo transfer at Positive Steps Fertility.
Dr. Parry explained to me that he had made exceptions before but chooses to do single embryo majority of the time. This gives the body time to adapt to the new embryo and prevent complications.

Dr. Parry takes the time to sit and discuss your treatment with you. We have had two personal meetings to discuss where my body is, where it needs to be, and how we were going to get there. I have never felt rushed or like I was just a number to the clinic...[he] bundles his services to try and allow as many chances as possible...He was able to locate polyps in my uterus and explained more in how PCOS affect my ovary follicle count
[Positive Steps Fertility] Clinic is amazing. Fast appointment times. Complimentary drinks and snacks are available which is a nice touch. Quiet atmosphere and very modern look. Exam rooms and bathrooms are clean. There is a private meeting room where the nurse or doctor can go over information with you and it’s a nice change from the exam rooms, more personal.

Describe the protocols Preston Parry used in your cycles at Positive Steps Fertility and their degree of success.
Dr. Parry believes in a low technology, low cost approach to fertility issues, so we decided to start with IUI since I didn't have any obvious complicating factors. He prescribed 7.5 mg Letrozole on CD 2-7 before using his Parryscope diagnostic technique to see if there were any underlying issues. During the transvaginal ultrasound, he found a good number of eggs, but the Parryscope revealed that I had cervical polyps and my tubes were blocked. I was scheduled for a polypectomy and an attempt to open my tubes, which was successful on the left side. We then proceeded to IUI treatments. I purchased a package of three IUI attempts with three ultrasounds for $1200, which was very affordable. I had my first IUI in March, which resulted in a negative pregnancy test, but I was prepared for that result. I decided to take April off to re-assess a few things, and this was totally ok with the clinic. I felt no pressure to continue or to discontinue my IUI attempts. I am on track for a second IUI in early May.

  • Provided conflicting information
Describe the specific things that went wrong at Positive Steps Fertility.
When choosing donor sperm, I had a question about washed vs unwashed. The first nurse I spoke to on the phone told me either was fine because they wash unwashed specimen there at the clinic. The next time I got a call from the clinic, I spoke with a different nurse, and in trying to verify that information, she told me it had to be washed. Not wanting to screw up a very expensive purchase, I called Dr. Parry on his cell phone (he provided his number during our first consultation). He called me back that day and settled the question for me.

Dr. Parry is probably the smartest person I know but also knows how to communicate in normal terms so you don't feel completely lost. Infertility can be so overwhelming and he has been so patient with us making sure we understand what is next in a treatment. He also gives us options and time to discuss those options. Since we live over an hour away, he has called us several times in the evenings to discuss next steps, answer questions and concerns and comfort us. He truly is the best!
What's one piece of advice would you give a prospective patient of Preston Parry at Positive Steps Fertility?

During treatment, were you treated like a number or a human with Preston Parry at Positive Steps Fertility?
During our time with Dr. Parry and his staff I have always felt like a human being. There are no time restraints. If a conversation needs to last a long time, they take the time to explain everything. I've been given cell phone numbers in case I need to reach out to my doctor or his nurses. We live over an hour away and if we're late because of traffic they will stay late and make sure we're seen and treated very well.

After that he develops a plan for you tailored to what he has seen. That is where he discovered I have endometriosis - I had a cyst on my left ovary that was an endometrioma. He suggested 3 rounds of IUI and possible surgery to remove the cyst. I did 2 rounds of IUI with Letrozole. Both were unsuccessful. We then had surgery to remove the cyst and had my final round of IUI with 7mg of Letrozole. That was unsuccessful as well. We are now considering IVF.

How was your experience with Preston Parry at Positive Steps Fertility?
I went through 4 transfers of IVF with him. Every time it didn’t work he was just as upset as we were. On my last transfer we finally got pregnant with twins and were able to see the heartbeat at 7 weeks. When we went back for our 10 week ultrasound the heartbeats weren’t there. He hugged us and sat with us while we cried. He has became not only a doctor to us but someone we hold very dear to our hearts.
What's one piece of advice would you give a prospective patient of Preston Parry at Positive Steps Fertility?
If you want someone who genuinely cares about helping you start a family go see him. He listens to your concerns, answers all questions so you can understand, and never gives up on you. I can’t express how thankful we are for him even though we are still on our journey.

The whole team there is so welcoming. We can name each person my name. From Melissa the office manager, the receptionist Tracy who always greats us with a smile and asks us how we are feeling, to the embryologist Dr. Dorfman and Mandy. They are truly the dream team. He [Dr. Preston Parry] answered every single question I had. How was your experience with Preston Parry at Positive Steps Fertility?
With being a nurse myself it’s always so hard to be on the other side of things and have to be the patient. From the moment I walked into that clinic for my consultation Dr. Parry was amazing. He answered every single question I had. By the end of my consultation he already had a treatment plan ready and I walked out of the door with a proposed plan. He is beyond brilliant. Throughout my nursing career I have met a bunch of physicians and he is probably one of the smartest people I have ever met.
What's one piece of advice would you give a prospective patient of Preston Parry at Positive Steps Fertility?
Because he is so brilliant sometimes he can get a little over the top with medical terms. Just ask him to explain it if you don’t understand something. He will be more than happy to further explain.
During treatment, were you treated like a number or a human with Preston Parry at Positive Steps Fertility?
One of the main things I love about Positive Steps is they 100% treat you as an individual and not a number. They know no one wants to have to walk through those doors if they don’t have to and they also know everyone that does come to their clinic truly wants answers and help
Describe the protocols Preston Parry used in your cycles at Positive Steps Fertility and their degree of success.
Every one of his patients has a procedure called the “Parryscope” done. It is his patent pending procedure that looks with a camera at the ovaries and uterus. This procedure does not require any sedation at all. Within 5 minutes they were able to tell that I had tubal blockage. At that point we realized our safest and only option was IVF. Dr. Parry was very thorough with explaining our options. One thing I like about him is that he is honest and safe with every decision and he always keeps your financial situation in mind when planning your care. At this point Dr. Parry said there are procedures to unblock tubes but that I could run a high risk of damaging the tube and thus having an ectopic pregnancy. He also made a very valid point that the money spent on that procedure could’ve gone toward IVF and it would be 100% safer and non life threatening than risking an ectopic pregnancy. So at this time we decided to go forward with IVF. We started all the oral medications as suggested and then COVID-19 hit. With me being an emergency room nurse and my husband a fireman/ first responder we decided to postpone IVF until the pandemic subsided
Describe your experience with your nurse at Positive Steps Fertility. (Assigned nurse: Vicki)
Mrs. Vicki was the absolute best!!!!!! She truly loves each and every one of her patients. She hugs you every single time you walk through those doors as if you were her own family member.
Describe your experience with Positive Steps Fertility.
Brand new nice modern clinic/building. Random fact we found out from the neighboring clinic is that Positive Steps has its own ventilation system so that if anything was sprayed (pesticides etc) outside it wouldn’t enter the clinic and thus harm the embryos.
Describe the costs associated with your care under Preston Parry at Positive Steps Fertility.
New consult-$150 Parryscope- $900 IVF (retrieval and up to 4 transfers)- $12,687 IVF reassurance package- $25,000
Describe Preston Parry's approach to eSET (elective single embryo transfer) vs. multiple embryo transfer at Positive Steps Fertility.
Due to COVID-19 and us having to push IVF out we had not reached this point yet.

Upon not conceiving with the other physician, we decided to change to Dr. Parry. After learning of my failed IUI, he instantly suggested that I have a parryscope done (his own procedure). Two minutes into the procedure, he was able to tell me that my fallopian tubes were blocked and that the IUI probably didn't work because my ovaries were not releasing eggs to be fertilized. He also discovered uterine polyps and later helped me remove them surgically with a hysteroscopy and D&C
The nursing staff at Positive Steps Fertility Clinic are nothing short of remarkable. They are a very close-knit group and will go out of their way to help you no matter the circumstances...The clinic is great. The people are great. The facilities are clean, neat, organized and welcoming. I don't know of any negatives really...consultation- $100 parryscope- $900 hysteroscopy- $1800 IVF (one round)- $14,000
How was your experience with Preston Parry at Positive Steps Fertility?
I love Dr. Parry. The only problem that my husband and I are facing is finding the money to help us and Dr. Parry conceive. He is an excellent physician with great communication skills and concern for his patients.
What's one piece of advice would you give a prospective patient of Preston Parry at Positive Steps Fertility?
Don't be nervous. Dr. Parry is one of the most down to earth individuals I have ever met. He not only talks to you in a way you can understand, but he also will listen to you no matter how absurd you think you're being.
During treatment, were you treated like a number or a human with Preston Parry at Positive Steps Fertility?
Dr. Parry is amazing. He spent a lot of time with my husband and I discussing our infertility issues and explaining our options. Unlike other doctors I have seen, he wanted to determine why we were unable to conceive before just trying various treatments and wasting our time and money on stuff that wouldn't have worked.
Describe the protocols Preston Parry used in your cycles at Positive Steps Fertility and their degree of success.
I used another doctor for my only round of IUI using donor sperm, but the distance to this doctor was hard for us to get to him without missing a day of work. He also discovered uterine polyps and later helped me remove them surgically with a hysteroscopy and D&C. Afterward the parryscope, we came to the conclusion that in vitro would be the best option for my husband and I to achieve our dreams of starting a family. Since then, my husband has already had a sperm retrieval and we are desperately trying to save money so that we can attempt a round of ivf. Dr. Parry has always done whatever he can to make sure I am taken care of. I would recommend him to anyone.

Dr. Parry has briefly talked to us about this topic. He was more interested in our opinion of whether we wanted multiples in a pregnancy. He reassured us that he is responsible enough that we wouldn't end up with a whole litter.

Dr. Perry is motivated to stay on the cutting edge of literature and innovation. He is an optimistic realist. I never feel rushed during our appointments. He answers all of my questions, which there are typically many. The conversation lasts as long as I need it too. He is able to explain all of the ins and outs of treatment, including any financial concerns. He is always available, whether in office or by phone.
The [Positive Steps Fertility] clinic is new and modern. [They] has collected the most experienced nurses and lab techs from the area when he opened his private practice several years ago. What's one piece of advice would you give a prospective patient of Preston Parry at Positive Steps Fertility?
He suggested that we try IUI, even after a failed attempt of IVF at another clinic. He offers a low-cost IUI package in hopes that pregnancy can be reached this easily. Even though it was not successful for me, we learned how my body responds to ovarian stimulants over the course of three months. So, my advice would be to communicate with Dr Perry if time is of the essence for you.
During treatment, were you treated like a number or a human with Preston Parry at Positive Steps Fertility?
I have been treated with respect and compassion from the first consult. My feelings, questions and concerns are each acknowledged with patience and understanding.
Describe the protocols Preston Parry used in your cycles at Positive Steps Fertility and their degree of success.
My IUI treatments began with Letrozole 7.5mg CD 1-7, ultrasound day 10, trigger shot when appropriate and IUI within 36 hrs. The high dose Letrozole produced a nice, thick uterine lining each month. I produced multiple, mature follicle each month, but suspect that the eggs were of poor quality due to age.
Describe your experience with your nurse at Positive Steps Fertility. (Assigned nurse: Vicki)
I've worked with Vicki B. to coordinate my donor selection and IVF cycle. She has been the most patient, understanding angel. I'm so thankful for her years of experience and guidance. My calls or emails are always promptly returned.

Dr. Perry's advice to me was to plan on transferring one embryo this summer. Transferring two only increases my chances of having twins, not of getting pregnant.

When my husband and I first met Dr Parry, he was thoughtful and understanding of our situation. No question that we had was a dumb question to ask. Before we finished our consult, he gave us his business card with his personal phone number on the back and said to call him day or night if we had any questions. We believe Dr Parry has a large customer base, yet he always knew who we were and our situation...After each IUI that did not take, Not only were my husband and I disappointed, but Dr Parry was too. He is so invested with your process just as you are. Dr Parry explained to us the reason for why we were not getting pregnant and it was due to male infertility issues. He helped walk us through the donor sperm process and answered any questions that we had. He made us feel very comfortable with a very uncomfortable situation. As an example, on certain testing that requires up front payment, when we had maxed out our budget he offered to bill us “down the road”. He had told us that his biggest goal was not money, it was to have successful out comes for his patients.
Vickie [nurse at Positive Steps Fertility] was very sweet, calm, and understanding. She answered our questions to the best of her ability. If we happened to ask a question that she did not know the answer, she had no problem asking Dr Parry...$150 for the first consult with Dr Parry. $900 for the Parryscope. $285 for blood work. $1,100 for IUI package. $3,125 for 3 sperm donors. $175 for an extra ultrasound...We have absolutely no flaws with Positive Steps Fertility. Every person that works there is very respectful and treats you like family. They had the facility cleaned and organized every time we went there.

Describe the protocols Preston Parry used in your cycles at Positive Steps Fertility and their degree of success.
Since we found out that my husband has a male infertility issue, Dr Parry wanted me to do his Parryscope procedure. Last April we went in and did the scope and everything came back “text book perfect” according to him. In May we did the first IUI procedure. He had me take 1 pill (Letrozole) 3 days after my cycle for 5 days. We then went in for an ultrasound and I had 1 egg to drop that month. We proceeded with the insemination. Unfortually, I did not make it to the 14 day waiting period. He realized that I have a short Luteal phase. He started me on taking 2 pills for 6 days. When we went in for the ultrasound, I had 1 egg again. My husband and I decided to hold off on the insemination that month. Once I stared my cycle, Dr Parry bumped my medicine up to 3 pills and take for 7 days. That following ultrasound showed 2 eggs! We were very excited and proceeded with the insemination. I made it to the 14 day waiting period but my cycle came. We had 1 more chance at IUI so he kept my medicine the same for that month. The ultrasound showed 2 eggs again so we agreed to do it that month. 14 days later, my cycle started. We were all disappointed, even Dr Parry. We met with him again to get a new game plan and have decided to do IVF. He believes that our chance of bringing home a baby is very high. He believes that IVF will work for us.

He wants to make sure all his patients understand the treatment they are receiving and allows you to ask questions and takes the time to answer them without making you feel like a burden. I will receive an ultrasound next and if everything looks good receive the trigger shot then do an IUI.
The clinic [Positive Steps Fertility] is very nice, and they offer satellite clinics that are great for people who don’t live near their main clinic. They try to make the procedures as affordable as they can, and Dr Parry even try’s to be open and make suggestions on how to prevent you from wasting money on procedure if he doesn’t think it’s necessary. The only weakness would be the distance I have to travel, but so far it has been worth it...

During treatment, were you treated like a number or a human with Preston Parry at Positive Steps Fertility?
Dr. Parry and his staff was so involved in everything that went on with me during my IVF cycle. They would call and check on me as well as calm me down during the procedures. I even had the staff hold my husband and I hands to pray with us. I hated the result and I’m still trying to get back to normal in my life but I would try IVF again with Positive Steps Fertility.
Describe the protocols Preston Parry used in your cycles at Positive Steps Fertility and their degree of success.
During my cycle, I took Lupron 10 units for 14 days, then I added 150 units of Menopur in the morning, lowered my Lupron to 5 units, and took Follistim 300 units all for 14 days until it was time for my trigger shot HCG.The trigger shot came before the retrieval of my eggs. After the retrieval I took different pills and continued my prenatal vitamins. Once it was time for the transfer I took started taking progesterone oil up until I got the results of my blood work 10 days later.

The cost of a consultation was between $100-$300. Sorry can’t remember the exact cost. The parry scope to see what the issues were the reason for infertility was $1000 which was the blockage of tubes. My husband and I had to have bloodwork done before the stem cycle which was $600 together. The procedure was $11,000 and the medication ordered was $6,022.

He proved a 45 min video which answered most questions up front in starting the process...At the moment I can’t think of any weaknesses he may have...treat you like family. With each visit he would explain everything to your understanding. He was very patient in answering any and all questions that everyone has.
Brittany and Vicki [nurses at Positive Steps Fertility] they basically make you feel like family and show you that they are with you every step of the way and this is what you want when going through the stressful process...The clinic has a smooth process in monitoring and it made you feel like you were their only patient although you knew they had other patients...Although there was a misunderstanding with financing on one protocol we agreed to do, overall the financing wasn’t bad. Overall a great experience.
How was your experience with Preston Parry at Positive Steps Fertility?

They will have the best experience in such a stressful situation.
During treatment, were you treated like a number or a human with Preston Parry at Positive Steps Fertility?
I enjoyed my experience with Dr Parry’s office. One day I was low in medication and he came to the office to meet me with a sample to get me through until the next day which was my scheduled transfer. They never used the portal. He gave his phone number to reach him in case of an emergency or for after hours questions. He proved a 45 min video which answered most questions up front in starting the process.

As a first time new patient not knowing anything about this process, this is the clinic I would recommend using. They provide the instructions up front with a video by Dr Parry and also answer questions throughout the process.

The clinic has a smooth process in monitoring and it made you feel like you were their only patient although you knew they had other patients.

Describe Preston Parry's approach to eSET (elective single embryo transfer) vs. multiple embryo transfer at Positive Steps Fertility.
I was ok with his approach, he chose 2 on the fresh and 1 on the frozen. However, sometimes I wish it was 1 done in the fresh just for more chances although it may have still been the same outcome in my situation.

I cannot say enough good things about Dr. Parry. He takes however much time with you that you need for him to explain things. He even explains things in a way that you can actually understand...makes me feel like he truly cares...He studies and researches ALL the time...The first meeting that my husband and I had with Dr. Parry was so informative and really gave me a sense of direction and clarity. I know exactly what we are doing in each procedure and he walks you through everything.
Vicki [nurse at Positive Steps Fertility] is awesome! She always returns calls, answers questions and has the best personality. Hands down one of the best nurses I have ever had...does not accept insurance so everything is out of pocket. Initial consultation is $150, Parryscope is $900, Tubal Cannulation and Uterine Polyp removal was $2,200. IVF is $11,000 (not including medication)...There is nothing negative I can say about this clinic. They are great with communication, education, making you feel welcomed, making you feel like a human and not a number and they are always available to help their patients.
How was your experience with Preston Parry at Positive Steps Fertility?
Dr. Parry is an incredibly smart doctor. He studies and researches ALL the time. Dr. Parry is the second RE that I have seen and I hate that he wasn't the first! I am so thankful to have found him and his clinic. The first meeting that my husband and I had with Dr. Parry was so informative and really gave me a sense of direction and clarity. I know exactly what we are doing in each procedure and he walks you through everything.
What's one piece of advice would you give a prospective patient of Preston Parry at Positive Steps Fertility?
Ask lots of questions and he will explain everything! He won't make you feel rushed so make sure you take your time to really understand everything he is telling you and if you don't understand, he will always explain it in a different way. Also, do your research and be active in the process.
During treatment, were you treated like a number or a human with Preston Parry at Positive Steps Fertility?
I cannot say enough good things about Dr. Parry. He takes however much time with you that you need for him to explain things. He even explains things in a way that you can actually understand. He makes statements like "if you were my wife" or "if I were in this situation" and that makes me feel like he truly cares.
Describe the protocols Preston Parry used in your cycles at Positive Steps Fertility and their degree of success.
Dr. Parry developed a new technique called Parryscope Fertility Testing. Before Dr. Parry, I saw another RE who put me on Letrozole and did monthly follicular monitoring and one round of IUI. None of that worked and I wasn't really getting any answers as to why and what to do. So, I found Dr. Parry and he did the Parryscope. The Parryscope gives you an actual look inside the uterus and evaluates the fallopian tubes. It is not an ultrasound. It is an actual camera view. Through the Parryscope I found out that I had two uterine polyps and that my left fallopian tube (the only one I have because of an ectopic pregnancy in the right) is blocked. So, after the Parryscope, I had a procedure to remove the polyps and a tubal cannulation to see if the left tube could be opened- which it couldn't. I am now on Dr. Parry's schedule for IVF in July.

Dr. Parry is very soft spoken and friendly. He brings you into his office and pulls up a chair beside you to talk. He makes you feel very comfortable and I have no problem asking him questions. Before leaving he always asks if there are any questions or concerns that we need to talk about.... I have had the Parryscope done by him to make sure everything on my end is still working and open. He actually developed the Parryscope to replace the painful HSG procedure.
I honestly haven't found a weakness yet. And that's coming from a nurse who expects the best from other nurses. They [Positive Steps] are all so polite and make sure you have everything you need.... Dr. Parry likes to be cost-effective. He actually does a bundle deal with IUI's. He does 3 IUIs for $1200 and that includes meds and ultrasound. He has a set rate for IVF and has already given us a paper with the cost upfront.

Before leaving he always asks if there are any questions or concerns that we need to talk about. He doesn't let you leave feeling confused. His motto is "WHEN you get pregnant..., not IF you get pregnant."
What's one piece of advice would you give a prospective patient of Preston Parry at Positive Steps Fertility?
To make him be your first infertility doctor. Don't go to anyone else, start with the best.
During treatment, were you treated like a number or a human with Preston Parry at Positive Steps Fertility?
When you come through the door, each person there (including the receptionist, the nurses, the doctor) all know you and your spouse by name. They are all so friendly. One of the nurses says she was supposed to be in charge of setting up an email between the patients and nurses but did not do it because she wants to at least speak on the phone to us. She says she can't hear our voices or emotions through an email and wants to have more of a personal relationship with us.
Describe the protocols Preston Parry used in your cycles at Positive Steps Fertility and their degree of success.
I am currently waiting to be placed in the May group for our first round of IVF. I have had the Parryscope done by him to make sure everything on my end is still working and open. He actually developed the Parryscope to replace the painful HSG procedure. Let me tell you, it is a complete difference between the two. The Parryscope does not hurt at all and you get to watch what he is doing on a big tv screen in the room while its happening. It's very informative.
Describe your experience with your nurse at Positive Steps Fertility. (Assigned nurse: Brittany and Vicki are the two nurses we see.)
I'll start by saying they are the kindest nurses. They understand what you're going through and make you feel like family. Brittany even cried with me on our first visit while I was explaining our infertility journey (7 years). They each have their own conference room where they sit down with you and go over everything. They make sure you understand each process that you're about to go through. They are both very organized and don't make you feel rushed or like they need to hurry to the next patient.
Describe your experience with Positive Steps Fertility.
I honestly haven't found a weakness yet. And that's coming from a nurse who expects the best from other nurses. They are all so polite and make sure you have everything you need. Their biggest strength is everyone seems to actually care that you are a patient there and they want the results that you want just as bad as you do.

There's no hidden fees I have to worry about and they let us know when each payment would be due by so we can plan ahead.

I have felt supported and cared for by Dr Parry throughout our fertility struggle. He has been there for us emotional as well as giving us advice for being able to hopefully have our miracle.... I had two previous laparoscopic surgeries due to stage 4 endometriosis. After a thorough review of my medical history, Dr Parry advised IVF as he felt IUI would not be successful due to the severe damage to my tubes. He provided a scope to assess uterus and ovaries and then gave us the all clear to proceed.
Strengths [of Positive Steps]- maintain low patient caseload to allow personalized care, always accessible 24/7 via phone, very educated Dr and staff with high success rates. Weakness- not exactly a weakness but if you are in a hurry you may have to wait a few months for IVF. They got me in right away for consultation but I have to wait several months for an opening to begin IVF process due to Dr Parry only performing a limited number of IVF cycles each month!
How was your experience with Preston Parry at Positive Steps Fertility?
I have felt supported and cared for by Dr Parry throughout our fertility struggle. He has been there for us emotional as well as giving us advice for being able to hopefully have our miracle. We couldn’t afford IVF on our own and he provided us with contact information during our consult to a bank that thankfully provided us a loan to cover our procedure and medications which came in over $18,000. When I was was out of town and had a question on a Saturday evening he called back within the hour. We have had a wonderful experience with Dr Parry.
What's one piece of advice would you give a prospective patient of Preston Parry at Positive Steps Fertility?
I would advise anyone seeing Dr Parry to just be honest with him! He will spend all the time you need answering questions , and after battling infertility there is no greater feeling than hope after your initial consultation.
During treatment, were you treated like a number or a human with Preston Parry at Positive Steps Fertility?
After trying to conceive for two years, surgery, all of the possible medications, and two heartbreaking miscarriages, my husband and I were both at the point of feeling hopeless. After meeting with Dr Parry and his team we both felt hope for the first time in years. He spent an hour answering any and all questions and providing us with honesty and compassion. He even issued his personal cell phone for us to contact him at any time during our cycle with him. He also informed us that he limits his IVF clients each month to around 10 that way he could provide the best personalized care. We left feeling hopeful and cared for. I cannot praise Dr Parry and his team enough!

We did a month of birth control pills to prepare my body for IVF follows by two weeks of Lupron injections. We then went for a basline ultrasound and bloodwork as well as a “trial transfer” to ensure he would be able to properly access the uterus for embryo transfer. That was successful which resulted in a recommendation to do a morning dose of Menopur and an evening dose of Follistim and Lupron for our stimulation protocol. During the two weeks of stim meds we went to the clinic every other day for ultrasound. Going to the clinic that frequently provided reassurance that everything was going as needed and allowed Dr Parry to closely monitor the IVF cycle. I also took oral medications to prevent OHSS and infection. Dr Parry was very proactive!
Describe your experience with the nursing staff at Positive Steps Fertility.
Dr Parry has two primary nurses that equally provide care. Both of them provided their personal cell phones to be contacted at any time. One Sunday I had an issue with a medication and the nurse answered right away! On days we did not have ultrasounds during our stim medications they would call and check in as well as calling to check in after egg retrieval surgery and transfer. They answered any and all questions just like Dr Parry and were very knowledgeable about the IVF process.

(Which is wonderful once it’s your turn!)
Describe the costs associated with your care under Preston Parry at Positive Steps Fertility.
The initial consultation was $150. He performed the scope which was an additional $900. We received two ultrasounds at $125 each. IVF and medications cost us a little over $17,000 initially but we have had to order some refills which have been an additional cost. All of this has been out of pocket (which we had to take a loan out for) as insurance in Mississippi does not cover infertility.
Describe Preston Parry's approach to eSET (elective single embryo transfer) vs. multiple embryo transfer at Positive Steps Fertility.
Dr Parry believed that the absence of functional tubes and stage 4 endometriosis was the reason we were having miscarriages and unable to successfully concieve. Due to the presence of healthy eggs and my husband having healthy sperm he felt that one embryo would be a great starting point for us. He stated that it was of course up to us, but that he was providing his best evidence based recommendation based on our specific case.

Dr. Parry is a very calm, well-spoken doctor. He always asks if you have any questions or concerns. His bedside manner is superb. At every appointment, he made sure I understand what the treatment plan was going forward and what expectations were.... He immediately started us on IUIs, and we did a total of 6 with him. We used Letrozole to grow multiple follicles during the IUIs and trigger shots to time ovulation after ultrasound monitoring. After the 6th failed IUI, we moved on to IVF.
This clinic's strengths are definitely their compassion and knowledge. Their weaknesses are that scheduling can sometimes be inconvenient, especially if you are having to travel to the clinic. They [Positive Steps] try to work with you as best they can.... Vicki and Brittney are Dr. Parry's two nurses. They were both fantastic. They were very knowledgeable and answered any questions or concerns I had. They never made me feel stupid for being nervous or having questions.

We began seeing Dr. Parry after unsuccessfully trying to get pregnant for a year. He immediately started us on IUIs, and we did a total of 6 with him. We used Letrozole to grow multiple follicles during the IUIs and trigger shots to time ovulation after ultrasound monitoring. After the 6th failed IUI, we moved on to IVF. I did birth control and Lupron for about 3-4 weeks. Then I was on 5 units Lupron, 75IU Menopur, and 225IU Follistim daily until we did our trigger shot after 4 monitoring appointments.

Describe the costs associated with your care under Preston Parry at Positive Steps Fertility.
We paid $2,100 for 6 IUIs with Dr. Parry. This included one ultrasound per IUI. Our medications for 6 IUIs totalled around $600. Our IVF package cost $14,000 and included one egg retrieval and 4 transfers plus monitoring ultrasounds and labwork. It also included their fee to biopsy our Day 5 embryos. We also paid approximately $1,500 to the testing company for PGS testing and approximately $2,500 for all of our medications.
Describe Preston Parry's approach to eSET (elective single embryo transfer) vs. multiple embryo transfer at Positive Steps Fertility.
If you are less than 35 years old, Dr. Parry prefers to only transfer a single embryo at a time. If you are older than 35, he is willing to transfer more than one.

He is approachable, friendly and takes time to listen and explain in detail...we initially did sonohysterography and it suggested tubal blockage. But I did not want to go through hysterosalpingogram/HSG--as I have heard its uncomfortable/painful procedure...we decided to give IUI a try though likelihood of pregnancy would be very low due to tubal blockage --but as I did not do HSG we were hopeful that may be I just had spasm at time of sonohysterograph. we tried 2 IUIs with no pregnancy--and decided not to go further. now we are starting IVF Nurse

Success w/ Doc Too early to know
Dr Parry was honest and forthcoming with information about my fertility issues. He answered all of my questions and concerns. He is the first doctor to actually provide me with answers to the questions that have tormented me. It was typical for me cry during my fertility appointments (I was overwhelmed), but with Dr. Parry I had a feeling of relief and joy. He is truly exceptional.
The clinic [Positive Steps Fertility] is very professional. The staff is polite and very cordial. Everyone understands that fertility is a sensitive issue. They work really hard to make you feel comfortable. I always get the “you are not alone” feeling when I’m there.
How was your experience with Preston Parry at Positive Steps Fertility?
As a patient of Dr. Parry, I was always welcomed and made comfortable. He encourages and gives hope to his patients. During my first round of IUI, I had an appointment for an ultrasound to check my ovulation status (this was my second). Dr. Parry informed me that I wasn’t ovulating yet, but adjustments were being made to my medications. We made a plan to have another visit later that week. He reassured me that everything would be fine. I left the office disappointed, but hopeful. When I reached my car, I became overwhelmed with tears. I could barely drive myself home or even call my husband for support. After making it home, my husband calls to check on me. I wasn’t able to get much out, but my husband understood. He was able to go to Dr. Parry’s office and talk with him. Dr. Parry took the time to sit down with my husband and go over all the details with him. He shows that we are more than just patients, we’re family.
What's one piece of advice would you give a prospective patient of Preston Parry at Positive Steps Fertility?
Be honest and open. Expect lots of information, but know that you will have all your questions answered.

Describe the protocols Preston Parry used in your cycles at Positive Steps Fertility and their degree of success.
I was diagnosed with PCOS. Dr. Parry provides my husband and I several options. The most cost-effective option was IUI. I was placed on a regimen of 3 Letrozole (2.5mg) days 3-7 of my cycle. After not ovulating, my dose was increased to 5 Letrozole (2.5mg) for an additional 5 days. Still nothing, Dr. Parry added 3 Clomid to the prescribed 5 Letrozole for an additional 5 days. Finally got an egg. We tried the first round of IUI. The pregnancy test was negative. Dr. Parry continued the 5/3 Letrozole and Clomid combination to yield three healthy eggs for the next round of IUI.

During that consultation Dr. Parry laid out a plan of action. We scheduled me to have a Parryscope done (Dr. Parry invented this) the scope is done in office and you get to watch as he travels to your uterus and checks to Make sure it looks great and the releases saline which goes through tube to discover blockage!...His Goal is to create affordable fertility and Affordable I agree it is!...constantly make sure we have never left with questions and has made us always feel like family just like his Staff!
I can not say enough about Dr.Parrys staff in general [at Positive Steps Fertility] he has a small clinic with small staff so you don’t feel like the whole word knows your buisness! They are all friendly and Amazing always going above and beyond!! One thing I love is no matter when I call o never get a voicemail or a robot I Always get a person which is so nice!...This clinic is very nice and clean there is always treats and drinks and coffee available! I always joke and say it’s like FortNight in there with all the codes to get in and out! It’s extremely secure so you know not just any random patient is going to walk in on you! The Clinic and the People are just Amazing!

Every employee I encountered was so heart warmingly friendly. They talked to my husband I as though We had known them for years. With the constant reassurance that they were on our side we felt more at home than we could have ever imagined and we felt more relaxed when it came to talking with Dr. Parry. Describe the protocols Preston Parry used in your cycles at Positive Steps Fertility and their degree of success.
We started with my OB sending my Husband to Dr. Parry to have his Semen analysis done. Within an hour maybe two Dr. Parry himself called my husband with the results! (Which I was very pleased with) We then scheduled our consultation to talk about how his results did not turn out quite like we had hoped! During that consultation Dr. Parry laid out a plan of action. We scheduled me to have a Parryscope done (Dr. Parry invented this) the scope is done in office and you get to watch as he travels to your uterus and checks to Make sure it looks great and the releases saline which goes through tube to discover blockage! During my scope we realized my tubes were not letting anything I do Dr. Parry assured me it could have just been a bad day for my uterus! So at this point we chose to go forth with the plan of IUI we chose to do one round of IUI Dr. Parry had me Day letrazal 5.5 for 5 days I went back in and I had 1 Beautiful Folical so we did insemination the next day and since that did not work then I had to schedule laparoscopic procedure with my OB to further investigate possible tubal blockage. Well my left tube was block once my OB was inside and he was Thankfully able to unblock. I am currently recovering from this procedure and can not wait to go back and proceed with my 2nd round of IUI
