Attention to Detail
Attention to detail is on a 1 - 10 scale, and is scored based on the rate, and severity, of errors committed by the clinic according to the patients.
For example, a severe error might be failing to inform a patient of critical information, while a small error might be failing to call a patient with results.
CDC Success Rates
This is the most recent data from the CDC. The CDC cautions that it should not be used to compare doctors and clinics. This data represents the outcomes of IVF cycles when using a person's own eggs.
For more information please see our FAQs.
Where you see a “?” on the chart, a clinic has done fewer than 20 cycles in this category and age range, so the CDC says showing percentages from this small data set would be misleading and unreliable.
Dr Nazem was caring and thorough with all meetings. She took time to listen, answer questions and provide valuable insight, along with providing facts to backup all information provided. I always felt like she was aware of and on-top of my specific treatment plan and looked at me as an individual patient, rather than just another “number” coming in to be seen. Her care was exceptional and the main reason I stayed with this practice.
Dr Nazem was incredible. I would give her a 10/10 rating and recommend anyone see her, giving her full faith in trust. The [RMA of New York] office itself was the weakness in my experience- I didn’t find anyone else to be caring, helpful or supportive- in some cases, it was very frustrating working with faculty / staff, while undergoing such sensitive treatment. The staff should be trained to be more positive, supportive and helpful- especially given the sensitive nature of what patients are going through. I will note -The nurses who did the blood draws were all fantastic and appreciate their care and kindness with each visit. Also- in my case everything that was majorly important all went to plan so in the bigger picture, I still think the experience was a great one- improvements can be made with the back office, but the overall experience lead to positive and successful results so I would recommend anyone to the practice without hesitation
How was your experience with Taraneh Nazem at RMA of New York?
Dr Nazem was the sole reason I stayed with the practice and was a recurring patient at RMA of NY (even after moving and having to travel a distance to come into the office). She was knowledgeable, trustworthy, thorough, and factual yet kind, caring, compassionate and supportive. I always felt taken care of and in great hands when seeing or speaking with her and had full faith in her direction and instructions. She has a rare mix of skills as a doctor that are invaluable in todays world of medicine. I truly appreciate all she has done for me and my family and consider us extremely lucky to have been paired with her as our doctor, from 2019-2023, resulting in one healthy child and an active pregnancy now. I believe our success has come as a direct result from her knowledge, timing and treatment. I can’t say enough good things about her and her work. I will note, I was seen by other doctors during my years at RMA for checkup appointments, and none of them shared these qualities or skills. I was always most comfortable discussing my care with her and do not think I would have been at the practice if she was not my doctor.
What's one piece of advice would you give a prospective patient of Taraneh Nazem at RMA of New York?
Dr Nazem is so knowledgeable and skilled that your treatment and care will be guided in the best possible way for the best possible result. She only wants you to have a successful outcome, so know that every step taken (whatever it is, even if it means it’s a setback) will lead you to that successful outcome you hope for. Trust the process and that she will lead you every step of the way!

Describe the protocols Taraneh Nazem used in your cycles at RMA of New York and their degree of success.
I believe treatment strategies were all standard for IVF- doses of oral medications and injections leading up to and after procedures to support the pregnancy. All videos provided to help educate on the usage and reasoning was helpful in understanding why each step and dosage was necessary to support pregnancy and to help my body do what it needs to do to produce a successful result. I trusted all strategies and protocols and never had to question rationale behind the “plan” for treatments. All was well documented and explained!
Describe your experience with your nurse at RMA of New York. (Assigned nurse: Julia Ullman)
All other staff simply did their jobs. I don’t believe anyone went above and beyond or connected with me in a way that was meaningful to my treatment or cycle. I believe nurses and staff simply completed tasks— if I had questions, I would be deferred to dr nazam appointments for answers.. they did their job and were helpful but if there was any “downside” to the practice it was the staff outside of Dr Nazem herself… specifically- I had issues with orders for medications being sent to right pharmacy, financial coorination/communication, and issues with the medical records department. I had to be on top of my care in all
Ways and aspects - encountering issues throughout the treatment cycles. All got sorted- but there was a lot of miscommunication and frustration on the back-end office side of things.

Describe the specific things that went wrong at RMA of New York.
As mentioned, overall I had a successful and positive experience- however, improvements can be made with back office communication and administrative items. I felt mishandled in those areas.
Dr. Buyuk is very objective and this help set reasonable expectations for me...With my first cycle I ovulated early and while this was devastating for me he changed my protocol and I never had this problem again. I honestly think other clinics wouldn’t have taken me on as a patient due to my diminished ovarian reserve but I’m forever grateful Dr. Buyuk accepted the challenge...He has reached out to me during critical parts of my treatment to review next steps which meant a lot to me...
RMA is a very organized clinic. They have a very high volume which makes me feel comfortable with their expertise. They also have multiple offices for monitoring which was helpful since I work at offices through the city. The early morning hours were perfect and did not interfere with my job. A drawback is that you see different doctors for your monitoring but they all really good to it’s nice to meet all the doctors...
How was your experience with Erkan Buyuk at RMA of New York?
Dr. Buyuk is very objective and this help set reasonable expectations for me. I do prefer matter of fact recommendations so I think this is why Dr. Buyuk was a good fit for me. When he told me he was happy with a cycle a new it was genuine. With my first cycle I ovulated early and while this was devastating for me he changed my protocol and I never had this problem again. I honestly think other clinics wouldn’t have taken me on as a patient due to my diminished ovarian reserve but I’m forever grateful Dr. Buyuk accepted the challenge.
What's one piece of advice would you give a prospective patient of Erkan Buyuk at RMA of New York?
My first impression was that he came off as pretty serious. I wasn’t sure if he would be a good fit for me because I thought I wanted a doctor to sugar coat my results and be extra bubbly. Now that I’ve worked with him for over a year I’ve seen that he actually is still serious in helping me achieve my goals but also very kind and compassionate. He’s actually a lovely person!
During treatment, were you treated like a number or a human with Erkan Buyuk at RMA of New York?
Dr. Buyuk has always been very kind to me. He has reached out to me during critical parts of my treatment to review next steps which meant a lot to me. There were several times during my treatment where I was discouraged about my results but he was very confident that he could help me with my family planning goals despite the seriousness of my low AMH. I now I have many normal embryos ready for transfer thanks to Dr.Buyuk’s expertise and patience.

Everyone is assigned a time to come in during monitoring hours. What’s nice is that they will see you early or later depending on when you show up. The whole process is pretty efficient. The doctor assigned to do monitoring will do your scans which may not be your doctor. They are all really nice and walk you through what they find on the ultrasound. Very good experience.
Describe the costs associated with your care under Erkan Buyuk at RMA of New York.
My insurance only paid for one cycle. Medications were about 5k per cycle and the egg retrieval was about 15k per cycle
Dr. Lederman has been optimistic about our success. He is thorough during our appointments and notices small details. When I had a chemical pregnancy just prior to starting treatments he called me personally to discuss it...He always asks how I'm doing, how I'm feeling and asks about my plans...For my three IUI cycles I took letrozole and the trigger shot without any negative side effects. For IVF, when preparing for egg retrieval, I was on Antagonist protocol. I took 225 units of Gonal F in the morning and 2 vials of Menopur at night.
I think the [RMA of New York] clinic has excellent wait time. Appointments are readily available. You can be in and out very quickly for your routine monitoring appointments which is great before work. There are multiple people available to take your blood in the morning so that is quick. Rooms are almost always ready so ultrasound is also quick. The office is of course always clean and looks nice.

I took 225 units of Gonal F in the morning and 2 vials of Menopur at night. Then we increased the dosage to 3 vials of Menopur plus Cetrotide. Then I took a dual trigger shot. The only rationale I remember was my AMH was a little low so we wanted to go a little more aggressive with the stims.

One injectable medication was not covered by my insurance and was about $400, genetic testing was a couple thousand, anesthesia for egg retrieval was $450 and there were copay's for some visits but not others and I'm not sure what determined that.
Describe Matthew Lederman's approach to eSET (elective single embryo transfer) vs. multiple embryo transfer at RMA of New York.
I know we are going for a single embryo transfer. My husband and I are worried about the risk of multiples.
Dr. Klein is very good at what does. A real profesional with tribal knowledge in his field. He was encouraging but never pushy. I was expecting the process to be very overwhelming especially going through it alone, but it ended up being very manageable and the experience overall was very empowering. He personally called me after the procedure and went over the results with me. He was very thorough and precise, which eases my mind especially at such a busy clinic. There were no mistakes made. A big thanks to Dr. Klein and the amazing nurses and medical staff that work with him.
The strengths [at RMA of New York] would be fast service. I never had to wait long once I checked in for morning monitoring. Their facilities were very clean and organized...The nurses were amazing. They explained everything and responded to every email. Sometimes it was hard to get through right away, with playing phone tag, but I never had to wait long to get a call back. They were kind and professional. They truly made the process a positive experience.

Describe the protocols Jeffrey Klein used in your cycles at RMA of New York and their degree of success.
Dr. Klein started me off on a higher dose of medications to stimulate my ovaries, because he wanted me to be happy with my results. Once my levels started to show growth, he brought me dosage back to the standard levels. I ended up with very good results, and I appreciate that he had the expertise to get me there.

Describe your experience with RMA of New York.
The strengths would be fast service. I never had to wait long once I checked in for morning monitoring. Their facilities were very clean and organized. I don't think of this as a weakness but the only thing that I can think of that could use improvement would be more space to wait at White Plains location.
My advice to a new patient is to get to your appointments early and wear shirts that are easy to pull your sleeve up (or a t-shirt) for the blood work.also don't forget to do your COVID screening online before you arrive at the office.
Describe the costs associated with your care under Jeffrey Klein at RMA of New York.
Altogether I spent over $12,000 (out of pocket) on my egg freezing cycle. That included the retrieval cost, medication, anesthesia, and office co-pays/lab fees. This is about what I expected to pay.

Dr Flisser is very thoughtful, compassionate, knowledgeable and pragmatic. Not only was my fertility preservation experience smooth, Dr Flisser also armed me with insightful information and helped frame how to think about my options, fertility evolution and factors influencing it with age. Dr Lekovich is warm and smart. She understood my history of trauma and vaginismus and made me feel oriented. To every procedure and also the whole process. I’m so glad she was my doctor. I saw another doctor elsewhere prior and they didn’t explain the science of eggs and quantity and quality for someone at my age. I felt much more oriented with Jovana and was glad to work with her instead.
this [RMA of New York] clinic was great. i went to the manhattan location once and it was so busy and i wouldn’t recommend it. it felt like a factory. this location all three doctors i met i liked, the nurses were kind. and it’s just a smaller space so you don’t feel like you’re just a number...Dr Lekovich spent a lot of time talking to me before my cycle. How was your experience with Eric Flisser at RMA of New York?
I am so grateful for Dr. Flisser and would recommend him to anyone who is having trouble conceiving. He was recommended to me by my gynecologist. My husband and I were feeling frustrated after having unsuccessfully been trying for a baby for about a year. Dr. Flisser immediately reassured us that we were not alone and that this was a common situation for many. He backed every statement with scientific evidence which helped us to trust him tremendously. While I did not see Dr. Flisser at every appointment, he advised every treatment. The other doctors in the practice were very friendly and knowledgeable so it was never a concern for me. When I had an ectopic pregnancy after my 2nd IUI treatment, Dr. Flisser helped me get through the painful experience and advised that IVF would be the safest next step. Luckily, I took his advice and I am now 9 weeks pregnant, all thanks for Dr. Flisser!

He [Dr. Stein] was honest about my options but reminded me that he would do whatever I wanted to do...if he feels a process isn’t working once we’ve started it he would let me know so as to not waste my time. My experience with Dr. Friedenthal was extremely positive. She feels all the highs and lows with her patients. She's extremely hands-on and answers all the questions you have...Open communication is key. Dr. Friedenthal is a very good listener and always wants her patients to be happy.
The only weakness I would say is the [RMA of New York] nursing staff, in the beginning, did not over-communicate with us like I wanted. That said, the entire team could not have been kinder during our process. Once I asked the nurses to communicate with us more, they did...My experience with Dr. Friedenthal was extremely positive. Describe your experience with the nursing staff at RMA of New York.
The nursing staff was not as diligent or communicative as Dr. Friedenthal in the beginning. Once I communicated to Dr. Friedenthal our challenges, she met with her staff and I saw an overnight change. I was very pleased with the entire team.
Describe your experience with RMA of New York.
The only weakness I would say is the nursing staff, in the beginning, did not over-communicate with us like I wanted. That said, the entire team could not have been kinder during our process. Once I asked the nurses to communicate with us more, they did.

Describe the protocols Tanmoy Mukherjee used in your cycles at RMA of New York and their degree of success.
1 cycle - we did Monopur (2-4 vials) Gonal F (300 ml) Cetrotude. Collected 13 eggs, no viable embryo
2 cycle - same but added Clomid - so far this was the most successful cycle, as out of 13 eggs we’ve managed to create 1 healthy embryo
3 cycle repeated the 2nd, however we’ve collected 20 eggs, and no healthy embryo after the 5 days bliocyst and PGT analysis
4 cycle we took slower, I was on the oral contraceptive for few days, then we’re waiting for another few days then minimal dose of Menopur (1 vial), Gonal F (300-175 ml) and Cetrotide. So far collected 19 eggs, hopefully there will be few healthy embryos after that. Still in progress

Dr.M says that even with 1 healthy embryo there is a big chance to have a healthy baby. I’m being hopeful, but also want more embryos, in case, but also if we can have 2 healthy babies
She [Dr. Sekhon] has very good bedsite manner and explains everything in details, you rarely feel rushed and she is very responsive to emails. Not all monitoring scans are with her and because of the timeline of my follicles, my egg retrieval was also done by another doctor...Unexplained infertility. Describe the specific things that went wrong at RMA of New York.
My genetic screening blood sample disappeared. We only realized after 2 weeks when my husband’s results came back but not mine.
The second fertility coordinator also forgot to add some tests that were expiring to my monitoring draw. So I had to go to a quest in the last minute not to delay my transfer.
From the beginning, she [Dr. Lucky Sekhon] was hopeful and honest with us about our chances and set clear expectations. She also recommended that before we move forward with any more transfers, I should consider removing my left tube (which was dilated and could be causing issues) which I did. She recommended a great surgeon which made the process easy.
RMA NY is a well-oiled machine. They are very well organized and have a seamless process in place to ensure your experience is good. I never had to wait more than 30 minutes for morning monitoring and they always tried to move everyone through as quickly as possible without feeling rushed. The staff is kind and understanding...Dr. Sekhon was kind and empathic throughout the entire process. You felt like you were speaking to a trusted friend who genuinely cared.
How was your experience with Lucky Sekhon at RMA of New York?
We came to Dr. Sekhon after nearly five years of trying to get pregnant. We had tried everything and even went through a known donor cycle with one of my good friends, resulting in only one embryo, which failed to implant. We were worn out and losing hope.
We decided to move forward with an anonymous donor cycle at RMA in NY and were recommended to work with Dr. Sekhon. From the beginning, she was hopeful and honest with us about our chances and set clear expectations. She also recommended that before we move forward with any more transfers, I should consider removing my left tube (which was dilated and could be causing issues) which I did. She recommended a great surgeon which made the process easy.
We were quickly matched with a donor that we loved, went through the cycle, and were thrilled to find out that we had 12 normal embryos! After years and years of bad news, we were very excited about the outcome. Once I was healed from my tube removal surgery, we decided to do the first transfer. The process was smooth and straightforward. I saw and spoke to Dr. Sekhon several times, and she was always encouraging and kind. We found out this first transfer worked and we are about ten weeks pregnant. We graduated from the fertility clinic last week and moved on to our regular OB. We are so thankful for our experience with Dr. Sekhon and how everything played out. I would highly recommend her to anyone going through this difficult time.

I had done a ERA test prior to coming to this clinic, so we had the results to go off of for my transfer at RMA NY with Dr. S.
I was prescribes estradiol 3X day which continued through week 9 of my pregnancy when I started to wean off (2x day) and then completely stopped. I was also taking 1ml of progesterone in oil (also weaned off and stopped around 9 weeks) and I took an antibiotic pill around the time of the transfer.

How was your experience with Lucky Sekhon at RMA of New York?
Doctor Sekhon was incredibly patient, knowledgeable, and personable when I met with her. What's one piece of advice would you give a prospective patient of Lucky Sekhon at RMA of New York?
Just know going into this process that your doctor is unlikely to be the person doing each and every scan - of which you will have many during an egg retrieval cycle - and that is OK. This is probably true of many fertility clinics and should not alarm you. With respect to Doctor Sekhon in particular, know that even if another doctor performed your scan, she personally reviews all the information from that scan and is responsible for your treatment! She works hard, and reviewed each and every one of my scans, even on vacation.

I was able to choose locations as benefitted my schedule and given a realistic outlook of what the treatment and procedure was like. I appreciated the wide variety of resources they also provided (learning modules, zoom intros, and dedicated fertility coordinator) who all helped to make this an efficient experience.
Describe the protocols Lucky Sekhon used in your cycles at RMA of New York and their degree of success.
I feel like my treatment was fairly standard for egg freezing. I started on Follistem (AM injection) and Menopur (PM injection, but by mid-treatment my Follistem injection amount was brought down, but Menopur increased to two vials.
Then I started on the Cetrotide for 4 days before the trigger shot. Due to my higher estrogen levels, I only received the Lupron shot and not the Pregnyl as well. Dr. Sekhon also mentioned that she had me wait one extra day to be sure that the eggs most eggs would mature and could be retrieved successfully.
Describe your experience with the nursing staff at RMA of New York.
Nurses were efficient and knowledgable. On my first appointment they explained the steps and were very compassionate and encouraging. I can only imagine how many patients they see every day and they were always nice and friendly. They were attentive to the bruises I sometimes got for blood work and were efficient in their work.
Describe your experience with RMA of New York.
RMA of NY was a large clinic and had multiple doctors and staff caring for individuals on their fertility journey. Scheduling for a consult was booked up and took time to meet with them, but I believe that is a testament to the results they're able to get for their patients. The finance coordinator helped address my insurance issues, and they also helped me secure additional discounts for my medication that was not covered by insurance. I would recommend that patients understand there are multiple individuals also at the same clinic, but that they do care and to have patience, but follow up if needed, they're here to help!

My insurance covered the consult and the treatment, but RX was out of pocket.

How was your experience with Taraneh Nazem at RMA of New York?
Dr. Nazem always made me feel comfortable. She was able to have a busy clinic volume, but always had time for me as a patient. Each visit, all my questions were answered. She is knowledgeable and confident. I know at some fertility clinics, patients mention they feel like "just a number." I did not feel this way at all. Appointments were personable, yet efficient. All my questions were always answered, and the next steps were always clearly outlined for me.

My goal was to freeze embryos. I started the process in 2021, and did two egg retrievals and ended up freezing 9 total embryos. This February I began treatment for my FET. I needed a saline sonogram, bloodwork, and the necessary consent prior to starting. Once that was complete, I called on day 1 to schedule a baseline ultrasound and bloodwork on day 3 to confirm I was ok to start my oral estrogen tablets. I began Estradiol 2 mg three times a day. I added in injectable progesterone about a week later, and the transfer occurred around the 21st day of my cycle. My pregnancy test was 9 days later, and it was positive. I continued on oral estrogen and PIO for several more weeks, eventually weaning the dosage. Just before 9 weeks, I "graduated" from RMA and set up care with an OB.

I interacted with many different nurses through the course of my treatment. They were all professional and helpful. They were able to answer almost all my questions, and if they didn't have the answer would escalate the question.

The office on Madison avenue is used for weekend monitoring appointments. I felt the staff there were very good as well.
There were a couple billing hiccups along the way, but we were able to mostly figure these out. These were prior authorizations that were a bit confusing with my insurance company partnering with WinFertility. A few are still pending, but there is a financial coordinator from RMA working with me on this.
Describe Taraneh Nazem's approach to eSET (elective single embryo transfer) vs. multiple embryo transfer at RMA of New York.
I only wanted to do a single embryo transfer, so this is what was done.
I really enjoyed working with Dr. Friedenthal. She was a great partner during this process and I felt really empowered with the knowledge of what happens every month in my own body (I didn't really know until she explained it all to me). I would absolutely recommend her to a friend or family member going through fertility treatments...From the first appointment, I felt taken care of by Dr. Friedenthal.
I think this [RMA of New York] is a great clinic. The office was organized, clean, and efficient, and everyone was super friendly. I got daily calls and followup emails with my instructions until my next appointment and they were super easy to follow. I was in an out of my morning monitoring appointments within 10-15 minutes. No weaknesses come to mind!...The nursing staff was super friendly (especially for those early morning appointments) and super efficient. I have difficult veins, so they were very understanding and had great bedside manners. I was continuously impressed by them at every appointment. I also cant emphasize enough how efficient they were. Most appointments were less an 10 minutes.

We started with testing for me and my husband to try and determine why we were not getting pregnant. Dr Nazem explained every test and why we were doing it. Once we determined that it was unexplained infertility, she walked us through the steps we would take to try to get pregnant. Because of my age, we started with timed pregnancy, and then moved on to IUI, and finally IVF. She explained every procedure and made sure we were ready to take the next step.

Dr. Flisser listened to my concerns and always took as much time as needed to answer my questions. He also remembered me from visit to visit which is impressive based on the number of patients he has...After each round, Dr. Flisser explained why this might be happening, and gave me options from there. He has a great way of explaining things using analogies and concepts that a non doctor can easily understand. I was trying to avoid IVF (cost, time, etc) and I never felt forced into it. After many conversations with Dr. Flisser, and when my partner and I were ready, we made the decision to proceed with IVF...
The [RMA of New York] clinic has a ton of patients and you are just one. Because of this, you have to speak up for your own concerns and needs. Wait times can be long but never more than 30-40 minutes. You cannot contact your doctor directly, you can only speak through the nursing team and you can of course request a call with your doctor through them. I will say it is very easy to call the clinic and leave a message with the team - a nurse will usually get back to you that day.
How was your experience with Eric Flisser at RMA of New York?
I did about 5 rounds of letrozole with Dr. Flisser, and 4/5 resulted in a chemical pregnancy. After each round, Dr. Flisser explained why this might be happening, and gave me options from there. He has a great way of explaining things using analogies and concepts that a non doctor can easily understand. I was trying to avoid IVF (cost, time, etc) and I never felt forced into it. After many conversations with Dr. Flisser, and when my partner and I were ready, we made the decision to proceed with IVF. I only saw Dr. Flisser on some of the monitoring visits, but any procedure or appointment that could be planned ahead of time - he was the doctor I saw. I ended up needed a small surgery before I could proceed with the embryo transfer and he did the surgery for me. He also did my embryo transfer. After successfully getting pregnant, I had some light bleeding (it ended up being nothing) and I called the office to see if I could come in, and Dr. Flisser made sure to see me even though it was outside of monitoring hours. I have nothing but wonderful things to say about him!!
What's one piece of advice would you give a prospective patient of Eric Flisser at RMA of New York?
Be your own advocate. If you’re worried about something or have a question - always ask! Don’t be afraid to call the office with even the slightest concern. Keep on top of your meds if you’re doing IVF. No one will remind you to refill them if they’re getting low.
During treatment, were you treated like a number or a human with Eric Flisser at RMA of New York?

What specific things went wrong at RMA of New York?
Failed to call in prescriptions to pharmacy
Describe the specific things that went wrong at RMA of New York.
I was supposed to be prescribed two types of needles (one for drawing and one for injecting). Only one type of needle was called in. When I discovered this, I called and they sent the needle information to the pharmacy, but they were the wrong style of needle. I’m not sure if that was the pharmacy’s fault or the clinic’s fault. Because of these two mishaps, my embryo transfer was delayed a bunch of days. That was frustrating.
I would highly recommend Dr Sekhon, she was knowledgeable, experienced, and emotionally attune with her patients. I had peace of mind knowing that she personally reviewed every single chart and test result, and every next step, it was clear she put a lot of thought and care into her recommendations, from when to do the egg retrieval, to readying my uterine lining for the transfer...had amazing bedside manner, and always talked to me person to person. During my appts with her, she would check in with me and genuinely care about how I am doing.
[RMA of New York] Strengths include the number of locations possible to do the visits...the early hours appointment windows so it wasn’t distributive with work, and the offices were nice, friendly, and had plenty of reading materials and water. Weaknesses: since RMA had many of locations and scale, the office and staff never felt personalized. I didn’t know any of the staff members, because they would often be different...[nurse] Carlie was responsive, helpful, and very enjoyable to work with. I can tell she was here to support me, emotionally and medically.

Dr. Sekhon had amazing bedside manner, and always talked to me person to person. During my appts with her, she would check in with me and genuinely care about how I am doing.
Describe the protocols Lucky Sekhon used in your cycles at RMA of New York and their degree of success.
When I initially tested for fertility, it was unclear why we struggled to conceive, so Dr Sekhon was transparent and helpful in outlining the pros and cons for assisted conception vs IVF. Based on her input I decided on IVF as a stringed more guaranteed result.
After the first cycle, I only had four embryos. It was unclear if I should go ahead and do the transfer, try assisted conception, or do another cycle. Dr Sekhon, knowing that I wanted 2-3 kids, recommended another cycle while I’m young so then I would have more options and the results I was looking for.
When we were preparing for the embryo transfer, my uterine lining was taking a while. Dr Sekhon instructed me to take the estrace vaginally and we gave my body an extra week to see if we can get a thicker lining. The extra week didn’t make a material difference but I appreciate how we wanted to take the time to create the best circumstances for a successful transfer. The transfer was ultimately successful.

Strengths include the number of locations possible to do the visits (I did one location on days I worked from home, and another one location on days I went into the office), the early hours appointment windows so it wasn’t distributive with work, and the offices were nice, friendly, and had plenty of reading materials and water.
Weaknesses: since RMA had many of locations and scale, the office and staff never felt personalized. I didn’t know any of the staff members, because they would often be different.
Describe the costs associated with your care under Lucky Sekhon at RMA of New York.
My first treatment and medication was covered under my health insurance.
My second IVF cycle was not because my health insurance didn’t allow me to undergo IVF if I already have embryos
Describe Lucky Sekhon's approach to eSET (elective single embryo transfer) vs. multiple embryo transfer at RMA of New York.
Dr Sekhon embodies everything a doctor should be: patient, warm, kind, compassionate with a high level of skill, knowledge base and expertise. She is familiar with current data and literature and explains things thoroughly...She is someone you can trust with your care. She genuinely has your best interest in mind...She spent so much time during each visit and never made me feel rushed.
The RMA downtown location provides a more personal experience and the wait times were never long. Front desk was always friendly. The downside is that they are not open on weekends. Sometimes you feel like a number at the other locations. Wait times are longer at other locations...At times, the orders the nurse provided over the wouldn't be consistent with what was written in the email

Describe the protocols Lucky Sekhon used in your cycles at RMA of New York and their degree of success.
I went to Dr. Sekhon to transfer a CC grade embryo which I froze in 2017. Because I had prior transfer failure with better grade embryos, she ordered appropriate diagnostics like an HSG to ensure I had no problems with anatomy. I had many questions including PRP for the Uterus which is a fairly new modality. She explained her reasoning for everything she did and did not recommend based on current literature. I used estrogen pills as well as progesterone in oil prior, during and after transfer. During the transfer, she was optimistic and explained all steps thoroughly. She spent so much time during each visit and never made me feel rushed.

Dr. Sekhon was transparent, kind, and a good communicator. When she was not available to be present in person, she made sure her staff was there to relay messages and responded to messages quickly. She even checked in on me post-op while returning from a flight abroad and sent a work note for me the same day...made an incredible effort to check in and make sure her clinic checks in, calling me daily during the stimulation and retrieval process. She welcomed all questions.
