Attention to Detail

Attention to detail is on a 1 - 10 scale, and is scored based on the rate, and severity, of errors committed by the clinic according to the patients.

For example, a severe error might be failing to inform a patient of critical information, while a small error might be failing to call a patient with results.

CDC Success Rates

This is the most recent data from the CDC. The CDC cautions that it should not be used to compare doctors and clinics. This data represents the outcomes of IVF cycles when using a person's own eggs.

For more information please see our FAQs.

Where you see a “?” on the chart, a clinic has done fewer than 20 cycles in this category and age range, so the CDC says showing percentages from this small data set would be misleading and unreliable.

I really enjoyed working with Dr. Friedenthal. She was a great partner during this process and I felt really empowered with the knowledge of what happens every month in my own body (I didn't really know until she explained it all to me). I would absolutely recommend her to a friend or family member going through fertility treatments...From the first appointment, I felt taken care of by Dr. Friedenthal.
I think this [RMA of New York] is a great clinic. The office was organized, clean, and efficient, and everyone was super friendly. I got daily calls and followup emails with my instructions until my next appointment and they were super easy to follow. I was in an out of my morning monitoring appointments within 10-15 minutes. No weaknesses come to mind!...The nursing staff was super friendly (especially for those early morning appointments) and super efficient. I have difficult veins, so they were very understanding and had great bedside manners. I was continuously impressed by them at every appointment. I also cant emphasize enough how efficient they were. Most appointments were less an 10 minutes.

What's one piece of advice would you give a prospective patient of Jenna Friedenthal at RMA of New York?
Ask lots of questions! Dr. Friedenthal is a great resource with a ton of knowledge.
During treatment, were you treated like a number or a human with Jenna Friedenthal at RMA of New York?
Dr. Friedenthal took the time to explain the whole process to me in layman's (and medical) terms. We also discussed my fertility goals and she understood them. She even drew a diagram to explain the whole thing to me! From the first appointment, I felt taken care of by Dr. Friedenthal.
Describe the protocols Jenna Friedenthal used in your cycles at RMA of New York and their degree of success.
I took a combination of Menopur, Gonal/F, and Cetrotide. These were adjusted every few days. The doctors that I saw during the course of my treatment said I responded really well to the medications and I was "triggered" about 10 days after I started injections.

This was a well-oiled machine. You could request certain times within their monitoring hours and the office was very accommodating.
Describe the costs associated with your care under Jenna Friedenthal at RMA of New York.
I am fortunate enough to have Progyny and a good healthcare plan from my employer. I believe the total costs were around $20,000. I will likely pay around $2,000 for my first cycle after insurance kicks in.

Dr Nazem is incredibly engaging and understanding. She was kind and easy to speak with. Dr Nazem explained everything to us and answered every question. She walked us through every treatment and procedure and was incredibly reassuring whenever we would stress out or get anxious about anything. She approached every conversation with a sense of compassion and understanding.

During treatment, were you treated like a number or a human with Taraneh Nazem at RMA of New York?

Describe the protocols Taraneh Nazem used in your cycles at RMA of New York and their degree of success.
We started with testing for me and my husband to try and determine why we were not getting pregnant. Dr Nazem explained every test and why we were doing it. Once we determined that it was unexplained infertility, she walked us through the steps we would take to try to get pregnant. Because of my age, we started with timed pregnancy, and then moved on to IUI, and finally IVF. She explained every procedure and made sure we were ready to take the next step.

Monitoring appointments were done during morning monitoring times. Appointments were given the day before but if needed you could request an appointment time. Sometimes the wait would be long but they would always be apologetic.

Dr. Flisser listened to my concerns and always took as much time as needed to answer my questions. He also remembered me from visit to visit which is impressive based on the number of patients he has...After each round, Dr. Flisser explained why this might be happening, and gave me options from there. He has a great way of explaining things using analogies and concepts that a non doctor can easily understand. I was trying to avoid IVF (cost, time, etc) and I never felt forced into it. After many conversations with Dr. Flisser, and when my partner and I were ready, we made the decision to proceed with IVF...
The [RMA of New York] clinic has a ton of patients and you are just one. Because of this, you have to speak up for your own concerns and needs. Wait times can be long but never more than 30-40 minutes. You cannot contact your doctor directly, you can only speak through the nursing team and you can of course request a call with your doctor through them. I will say it is very easy to call the clinic and leave a message with the team - a nurse will usually get back to you that day.
How was your experience with Eric Flisser at RMA of New York?
I did about 5 rounds of letrozole with Dr. Flisser, and 4/5 resulted in a chemical pregnancy. After each round, Dr. Flisser explained why this might be happening, and gave me options from there. He has a great way of explaining things using analogies and concepts that a non doctor can easily understand. I was trying to avoid IVF (cost, time, etc) and I never felt forced into it. After many conversations with Dr. Flisser, and when my partner and I were ready, we made the decision to proceed with IVF. I only saw Dr. Flisser on some of the monitoring visits, but any procedure or appointment that could be planned ahead of time - he was the doctor I saw. I ended up needed a small surgery before I could proceed with the embryo transfer and he did the surgery for me. He also did my embryo transfer. After successfully getting pregnant, I had some light bleeding (it ended up being nothing) and I called the office to see if I could come in, and Dr. Flisser made sure to see me even though it was outside of monitoring hours. I have nothing but wonderful things to say about him!!
What's one piece of advice would you give a prospective patient of Eric Flisser at RMA of New York?
Be your own advocate. If you’re worried about something or have a question - always ask! Don’t be afraid to call the office with even the slightest concern. Keep on top of your meds if you’re doing IVF. No one will remind you to refill them if they’re getting low.

My insurance fully covered my care.
What specific things went wrong at RMA of New York?
  • Failed to call in prescriptions to pharmacy
Describe the specific things that went wrong at RMA of New York.
I was supposed to be prescribed two types of needles (one for drawing and one for injecting). Only one type of needle was called in. When I discovered this, I called and they sent the needle information to the pharmacy, but they were the wrong style of needle. I’m not sure if that was the pharmacy’s fault or the clinic’s fault. Because of these two mishaps, my embryo transfer was delayed a bunch of days. That was frustrating.

I would highly recommend Dr Sekhon, she was knowledgeable, experienced, and emotionally attune with her patients. I had peace of mind knowing that she personally reviewed every single chart and test result, and every next step, it was clear she put a lot of thought and care into her recommendations, from when to do the egg retrieval, to readying my uterine lining for the transfer...had amazing bedside manner, and always talked to me person to person. During my appts with her, she would check in with me and genuinely care about how I am doing.
[RMA of New York] Strengths include the number of locations possible to do the visits...the early hours appointment windows so it wasn’t distributive with work, and the offices were nice, friendly, and had plenty of reading materials and water. Weaknesses: since RMA had many of locations and scale, the office and staff never felt personalized. I didn’t know any of the staff members, because they would often be different...[nurse] Carlie was responsive, helpful, and very enjoyable to work with. I can tell she was here to support me, emotionally and medically.

Dr. Sekhon had amazing bedside manner, and always talked to me person to person. During my appts with her, she would check in with me and genuinely care about how I am doing.
Describe the protocols Lucky Sekhon used in your cycles at RMA of New York and their degree of success.
When I initially tested for fertility, it was unclear why we struggled to conceive, so Dr Sekhon was transparent and helpful in outlining the pros and cons for assisted conception vs IVF. Based on her input I decided on IVF as a stringed more guaranteed result. After the first cycle, I only had four embryos. It was unclear if I should go ahead and do the transfer, try assisted conception, or do another cycle. Dr Sekhon, knowing that I wanted 2-3 kids, recommended another cycle while I’m young so then I would have more options and the results I was looking for. When we were preparing for the embryo transfer, my uterine lining was taking a while. Dr Sekhon instructed me to take the estrace vaginally and we gave my body an extra week to see if we can get a thicker lining. The extra week didn’t make a material difference but I appreciate how we wanted to take the time to create the best circumstances for a successful transfer. The transfer was ultimately successful.

Dr SEKHON is Incredibly knowledgeable , friendly , compassionate. She is Exactly who you want to be meeting with to discuss fertility. She clearly explained the entire process, the amount of eggs recommended for my age as a goal, followed up after the egg retrieval to discuss next steps. The guidance in a process that I knew little to nothing about has been great and I trusted her expert opinion fully.
RMA clinic was Punctual, had very nice facilities, a friendly staff, and was incredibly organized. When I had my morning monitoring I was usually in & out within 15 minutes. Everyone working at the office is incredibly friendly. And also important : facilities are very clean especially with seeing so many patients for morning monitoring.

Dr SEKHON takes the time to understand your goals, explains the process and doesn’t feel rushed while meeting with you. She made the entire egg freezing process easy to understand and was always available if I had any questions along the way.
Describe the protocols Lucky Sekhon used in your cycles at RMA of New York and their degree of success.
She recommended I go off birth control for a month before starting to try to get the most eggs possible. We used stimulation medication to see how many follicles I could get and an antagonist to prevent ovulation prior to the egg retrieval which was a huge success. I will not be needing a 2nd round thanks to the treatment she recommended for me.

Dr. Nazem tailored my cycle specifically for me to ensure we would obtain the best possible outcome. She was incredibly warm and kind, and there was never a single moment that I felt rushed. She took the time to answer all my (many) questions in detail and provide me with the best options in planning for my future...Dr. Nazem was an excellent communicator and I felt as though she truly listened to me when expressing my future fertility plans. I never felt judged, rushed, or just like another patient.
Having gone through 3 egg freezing cycles [at RMA of New York], I find it pretty remarkable that the operations are as smooth as they are. There are many different patients going through various types of cycles simultaneously and when everything is so heavily dependent on getting the timing right, I found it remarkable that scheduling happened as seamlessly as it did...The front desk staff and the employees answering the phones were equally as easy to work with and took down my questions and information when I had questions and relayed it to the appropriate nursing and/or care coordination team as needed.
How was your experience with Taraneh Nazem at RMA of New York?
I have nothing but positive things to say about Dr. Nazem and cannot recommend her enough. I felt incredibly supported throughout my 3 egg freezing cycles and was confident that she catered my treatment specifically for me based on my personal circumstances. Dr. Nazem was an excellent communicator and I felt as though she truly listened to me when expressing my future fertility plans. I never felt judged, rushed, or just like another patient. Dr. Nazem patiently addressed all my questions and concerns about the process (even about potential treatment cycles that are a number of years away). She was so easy to speak to and I found her to be really compassionate and invested in ensuring a successful outcome.
What's one piece of advice would you give a prospective patient of Taraneh Nazem at RMA of New York?
I would suggest that patients come in with an idea of what their future fertility plans are, even if having children seems like it's in the very distant future. While you don't need to have any definitive plans, it's helpful to have some direction so that Dr. Nazem can provide guidance about appropriate next steps. Come in for the initial consultation with a long list of questions so you can feel empowered to make the right choice for you.
During treatment, were you treated like a number or a human with Taraneh Nazem at RMA of New York?
When I initially started my egg freezing journey, I had very little information about what it would entail. I quickly learned that there is no "one size fits all" approach. Dr. Nazem tailored my cycle specifically for me to ensure we would obtain the best possible outcome. She was incredibly warm and kind, and there was never a single moment that I felt rushed. She took the time to answer all my (many) questions in detail and provide me with the best options in planning for my future. More broadly, when you go in for your monitoring appointments and the actual egg retrievals, you don't always end up seeing your own doctor due to on call schedules. On those handful of days where another doctor performed the routine monitoring visits, I still felt like they were knowledgeable about my specific case and my progress to date. I can't say enough good things about Dr. Nazem and how comfortable she made me feel at each step of this journey.
Describe the protocols Taraneh Nazem used in your cycles at RMA of New York and their degree of success.
During the first cycle, I called with day 1 of my cycle and came in on day 2 or 3 for the first monitoring visit (blood work and ultrasound). Based on what was seen on the ultrasound and blood work, I was able to start medications that evening. I was on follistim, menopur, and eventually ganirelix/cetrotide. My trigger shots (lupon and novarel) were scheduled on the evening of the 9th day of medications and the retrieval took place on day 11. 12 eggs were retrieved and all 12 were mature and ultimately frozen. For the second cycle, we went with an estrogen priming protocol during which I wore an estrogen patch prior to starting injections. My understanding was that this was intended to try and stimulate all my follicles to grow more consistently. We learned from the first cycle that I had a lot more follicles than just the 12 we retrieved and the idea was to stimulate my ovaries to produce more mature eggs from all follicles. I had the same medications as cycle one, but the dosages were higher during this round. The trigger injections took place on the 10th day of medications, and the retrieval took place on day 12. 14 eggs were retrieved and 13 were mature and ultimately frozen. For the third and final cycle, I went on birth control for 7 days and took a 4 day break prior to starting medications. The medications were identical to the prior cycles, but I only had the lupron trigger rather than the additional HCG trigger medication due to the manner in which I had responded this cycle. The trigger injections took place the 11th day of medications, and the retrieval took place on day 13. 30 eggs were retrieved and all 30 were mature and ultimately frozen.
Describe your experience with your nurse at RMA of New York. (Assigned nurse: Tish)
My primary nurse was Tish (I believe that is her name!) and whenever I called with questions or clarifications, I typically did speak with her directly. She was extremely patient and I felt like she was always in constant communication with Dr. Nazem throughout the process. When I spoke with other nurses, specifically on the weekends and holidays after monitoring appointments, everyone was equally as wonderful and patient with explaining medication instructions, dosages, and answering any other questions I had. Even when I called at off times with what were possibly very silly or minor questions/problems, all the nurses were able to assist and I never felt like I was bothering anyone. Julia was the care coordinator I worked with and she was very responsive as well. She reached out to the nurses with any clinical questions she couldn't answer and coordinated with the billing team when there were issues with some of the medication orders at the pharmacy or with my insurance.
Describe your experience with RMA of New York.
Having gone through 3 egg freezing cycles, I find it pretty remarkable that the operations are as smooth as they are. There are many different patients going through various types of cycles simultaneously and when everything is so heavily dependent on getting the timing right, I found it remarkable that scheduling happened as seamlessly as it did. There were certainly days during which I waited until the very late afternoon for my next medication instructions, but I was never missed/forgotten and I always received the directions before I actually needed to do the next injections. The front desk staff and the employees answering the phones were equally as easy to work with and took down my questions and information when I had questions and relayed it to the appropriate nursing and/or care coordination team as needed.
Describe the costs associated with your care under Taraneh Nazem at RMA of New York.
My employer has $1,800 in lifetime benefits for medications and $10,000 in lifetime benefits for IVF procedures. The $1,800 was used entirely during the 1st cycle and the $10,000 was depleted after going through 3 cycles. My total out of pocket cost for the three cycles was $21,917. Without my insurance benefits, my understanding from speaking with the financial coordinators is that I would have spent an additional almost $20,000 for the 3 cycles combined. Cycle 1 total = $6,610 -cryopreservation (and first year of storage): $3,000 - Anesthesia: $950 -Medications: $2,660 Cycle 2 total = $7,674 -cryopreservation (and first year of storage): $3,000 - Anesthesia: $950 -Medications: $3,724 Cycle 3 total = $7,633 -cryopreservation (and first year of storage): $3,000 - Anesthesia: $950 -Medications: $3,683

Dr. Friedenthal was incredibly caring and compassionate, and treated my nonstop questions with patience and grace. When I was anxious about a step of the treatment plan, she took the time to write a detailed and thoughtful email summarizing the approach and reasoning. When dealing with hard news, she was incredibly sensitive and kind...During one of my FETs a scheduling issue arose and Dr. Friedenthal wasn't available to do the transfer. She still made it a point to come to the procedure and be with me, which meant a lot.
[RMA of New York] is a big practice, so it is easy to feel like a cog in the machine when you're just sleepwalking through the morning monitoring. Be prepared with your questions, and keep track of the instructions emails as it's easy to track your results and previous cycles with them...The nurses send clear and very easy to understand emails after each appointment recapping the test results and instructions. For the most part, they are very to the point and a little curt. Whenever I pushed for more clarification or had questions about something they were very patient with me. The email recaps were really helpful, especially managing the timing and dosing of medications. My previous practice didn't do this.
How was your experience with Jenna Friedenthal at RMA of New York?
Dr. Friedenthal was incredibly kind and patient. I am an anxious person, and a planner, and Dr. Friedenthal was very patient responding to my (countless) emails and questions throughout the process. I really felt a lot of individual care. During one of my FETs a scheduling issue arose and Dr. Friedenthal wasn't available to do the transfer. She still made it a point to come to the procedure and be with me, which meant a lot.
What's one piece of advice would you give a prospective patient of Jenna Friedenthal at RMA of New York?
This would be my advice for basically anyone - but don't be afraid to ask questions throughout the process. By advocating for myself, it helped me feel a bit more in control of a very overwhelming situation.
During treatment, were you treated like a number or a human with Jenna Friedenthal at RMA of New York?

Describe the protocols Jenna Friedenthal used in your cycles at RMA of New York and their degree of success.
I started right away with IVF with Dr. Friedenthal, and had great success with my egg retrieval. My first two FET failed. I did have to push for a bit after the 2nd failed FET to change up the procedure, but we ended up doing an endometrial biopsy (confirming endometritis) and incorporated baby aspirin, a steroid, and acupuncture into my treatment plan. The next FET was successful (though ended in miscarriage), and the one after that was successful as well and I am just graduating out of the clinic!

Describe the costs associated with your care under Jenna Friedenthal at RMA of New York.
I used WIN Fertility because I have no insurance coverage for IVF procedures. It saved a lot of money, but was still expensive. I paid about $3,000 for each FET cycle, and $15,000 for the egg retrieval and fertilization. During the retrieval I did end up needing more medication than was in the original order, and I just paid out of pocket for that.
Describe Jenna Friedenthal's approach to eSET (elective single embryo transfer) vs. multiple embryo transfer at RMA of New York.
I was not really interested in multiple embryo transfer regardless, for fear of multiples.

Dr. Lederman's strengths: knowledgable, kind, comfortable to talk to. Very reassuring when discussing results or procedures...Extremely responsive to emails which has been critical for me as I have health related anxiety. The only weakness I would say is that he can sometimes talk fast while explaining next steps during consultations, but if you ask questions he will clarify and be very helpful.
The RMA practice can make you feel like a cog in a large machine but ultimately, they know what they are doing, are overall efficient, and all staff I interacted with were kind and supportive. Dr. Lederman responded to personal emails with health questions within the hour, which was incredibly helpful and made me feel very cared for...The nurses are totally on top of it. I looked forward to the calls reviewing my bloodwork in the afternoons on monitoring days because they were reassuring, helpful, and I could always ask questions. Nurses who draw blood are similarly awesome and meticulous. My clinical coordinator was not super helpful- we had some issues calling things into multiple pharmacies and some confusion around communication. She was not very knowledgeable about the process but the nurses are.
How was your experience with Matthew Lederman at RMA of New York?
Dr. Lederman's strengths: knowledgable, kind, comfortable to talk to. Very reassuring when discussing results or procedures (for example I had some issues getting the catheter to go in during my transfer; he explained everything as he was doing it and reassured me there was nothing to worry about). Extremely responsive to emails which has been critical for me as I have health related anxiety. The only weakness I would say is that he can sometimes talk fast while explaining next steps during consultations, but if you ask questions he will clarify and be very helpful.
What's one piece of advice would you give a prospective patient of Matthew Lederman at RMA of New York?
Come beforehand with questions written down, don't be afraid to ask to clarify; appointments can go fast/I forget all my questions, especially when doing a vaginal ultrasound.

Three IUIs with letrozole (3 negative tests), ovarian stimulation with gonal-f, menopur, certrotide, and HCG trigger; frozen transfer with Estrace and progesterone in oil (1 mL initial dose increased to 1.5 mL after bloodwork); gradual taper off of Estrace and progesterone after 8 weeks of pregnancy.

Describe your experience with RMA of New York.
Strengths: doctors and nursing staff, smoothly running operations including monitoring, procedures, anesthesia, and bloodwork. Weaknesses: for some reason our IUI cycles were difficult to plan regarding medication and insurance pre-certification. At one point I realized I never received a call from my pharmacy planning my Ovidrel delivery, and RMA had called my trigger shot into the wrong pharmacy for my insurance. In my second IUI, I also did not receive my meds in time (I ended up getting an extra Ovidrel dose from the White plains office, so it did work out). Another weakness is billing; overall things were OK but sometimes they would charge me copays and sometimes not, leading to larger build-ups on my account (I started to periodically ask if I had a balance, in order to pay it promptly).
Describe the costs associated with your care under Matthew Lederman at RMA of New York.
PGT: $2400 plus $155 per embryo ($1240). Assisted Hatching: $900. Cryopreservation + 1 year of storage: $1200. Anesthesia: $400. Copays: $25 per visit. Total estimated: $7000
Describe Matthew Lederman's approach to eSET (elective single embryo transfer) vs. multiple embryo transfer at RMA of New York.
RMA said they only do single transfers during FET due to the risk of multiples and high rates of success.

Our experience with Dr. Sekhon was fantastic. As an LGBTQ couple going in to our first fertility treatment experience, we didn't know what to expect. Dr. Sekhon carefully explained all our options to us and helped us make the right decision for our family. She was always available to answer questions that we had, and during our transfer cycle she did all the post transfer monitoring which I found to be extremely comforting. We had total trust in her as our medical provider and I would recommend her to anyone seeking fertility treatments.
RMA was amazing, I would recommend them to anyone. I never had a problem at any of the clinics. They were clean, bright, and the staff was always wonderful. Sometimes you do have to wait a bit when you go for monitoring, but I think thats the nature of most facilities since there are many patients there being treated alongside you. Once you get into the room with the doctor or nurse, you always have their full attention though.

What's one piece of advice would you give a prospective patient of Lucky Sekhon at RMA of New York?
The advice I would give is to come in with a plan in mind for what you hope your outcome will be. I think especially for an LGBTQ couple, there are many options to start a family. Dr. Sekhon was not there to tell us the right way to expand our family, she based her treatment plan off of what we were hoping to do, and I really appreciated that.
During treatment, were you treated like a number or a human with Lucky Sekhon at RMA of New York?
Dr. Sehkon always treated my partner and I with excellent bedside manner, always took the time to answer all of our questions. She takes her time in exams to walk you through what she's seeing and during any procedure she was friendly and warm while also projecting confidence that we are going to make this happen for you!
Describe the protocols Lucky Sekhon used in your cycles at RMA of New York and their degree of success.
Both my partner and I did egg retrievals to create embryos which we froze and did genetic testing on. This was so we could do reciprocal ivf and each have a child that is genetically ours. For both my partner and I we did antagonist cycles (I think?!) using gonal F, menopur, cetrotide, and two forms of trigger shot. We both did our egg retrievals in separate months and ended up with 10 combined embryos. 6 of which were euploid. We then went right into a transfer cycle with one of the euploid embryos, which was successful and is currently an ongoing pregnancy.
Describe your experience with the nursing staff at RMA of New York.
The nursing staff was excellent. They always made time to answer all our questions when calling us with updates. They also always returned our calls within a reasonable amount of time when we called into the line with questions about medication or results. They were always incredibly kind, and I never felt as though they were trying to rush to end our calls.

Dr Sekhon embodies everything a doctor should be: patient, warm, kind, compassionate with a high level of skill, knowledge base and expertise. She is familiar with current data and literature and explains things thoroughly...She is someone you can trust with your care. Describe the protocols Lucky Sekhon used in your cycles at RMA of New York and their degree of success.
I went to Dr. Sekhon to transfer a CC grade embryo which I froze in 2017. Because I had prior transfer failure with better grade embryos, she ordered appropriate diagnostics like an HSG to ensure I had no problems with anatomy. I had many questions including PRP for the Uterus which is a fairly new modality. She explained her reasoning for everything she did and did not recommend based on current literature. I used estrogen pills as well as progesterone in oil prior, during and after transfer. During the transfer, she was optimistic and explained all steps thoroughly. She spent so much time during each visit and never made me feel rushed.

Lucky was excellent in adjusting my protocal to an antagonistic primer to help even out lead folicle stimulation and improve fertilization outcomes. Her trial and error methods produced the best results for me...Only area i wish she had picked up on was my endometriosis. I complained of pain during periods and cysts were observed in my ultrasounds but no mention of possible endo to investigate. I went to another doctor who diagnosed me with stage 4 and i had a laparoscopy which i believed helped the overall outcomes.
RMA may seem like a "factory" but it is a well oiled machine and they have enough staff to manager your care effectively. There is always someone who is available to call you back. I loved their new online portal that showed all your test results and embryo information. they have a wealth of knowledge of protocols that work...Everyone [nursing staff] was great and organized and called me back in a timely manner.

Dr. Flisser is a wonderful fertility doctor. He has a warm bedside manner and is very knowledgeable. His explanations were always very evidence-based which I appreciated as a physician myself. He is compassionate and empathetic, but also straightforward and realistic. For me, this is an ideal combination. I came to Dr. Flisser after multiple failed treatments at other clinics. From our very first visit, he was reassuring and thorough. I am so grateful for Dr. Flisser’s experience, knowledge and kindness.

Dr. Sekhon was transparent, kind, and a good communicator. When she was not available to be present in person, she made sure her staff was there to relay messages and responded to messages quickly. She even checked in on me post-op while returning from a flight abroad and sent a work note for me the same day...made an incredible effort to check in and make sure her clinic checks in, calling me daily during the stimulation and retrieval process. She welcomed all questions.

Under his [Dr. Daniel Stein] care, we thawed my eggs, made embryos and did our first FET in March. It worked and I am now 9 weeks pregnant and cannot thank Dr. Stein and the RMA team enough for their expertise, professionalism, and kind demeanor...Don't expect to see Dr. Stein every visit - he is there for the important stuff but you will see nearly everyone during your monitoring
RMA of NY only practices eSET. They will not do multiples...LOVE that they have a financial coordinator who handled my insurance. I do wish you could request your monitoring appt time online vs always having to call them on a weekly basis but they were pretty good about getting me the time I needed each week.
How was your experience with Daniel Stein at RMA of New York?
have been a patient of Dr. Stein's since 2018 when I decided to freeze my eggs at 34 y/o. Now at 38, I was diagnosed with PCOS so back to Dr. Stein we went! Under his care, we thawed my eggs, made embryos and did our first FET in March. It worked and I am now 9 weeks pregnant and cannot thank Dr. Stein and the RMA team enough for their expertise, professionalism, and kind demeanor. I am so happy I decided to freeze my eggs with Dr. Stein's recommendation when I did and found out recently that RMA of NY has one of the best, if not the best, success rates for successful pregnancies from frozen eggs. We will definitely be back for our second child and will forever be grateful for making our dreams of having children possible for us.

For my original egg freezing in 2018, we paid out of pocket about 14k as this wasn't covered by insurance. For our IVF cycle with ICSI, insurance covered us less 10% out of pocket to RMA. I think we paid less than $1500 all in to date.

Dr. Flisser was always thorough and explained things as many times as I needed to hear them. My husband also felt very comfortable with how Dr. Flisser spoke to him during our later monitoring appointments. There was one time that I wanted to try a different schedule of medications than what was suggested. Dr. Flisser was open to my concerns and we were able to adjust the initial plan to something I felt more comfortable with.
Morning monitoring [at RMA of New York] was very organized and ran smoothly. All of the doctors I saw were very kind and thorough even though they weren’t my primary doctor. Whenever I had questions, it was easy to leave a message and someone always returned my call the same day...[the nurses] were always very detailed in reporting results and never hesitated to co silt Dr. flisser if I had a question they couldn’t answer.

Dr. Nazem was always upbeat and positive...Being a large facility, I didn’t feel like just a number. I had the choice to see her for every appointment or go to whichever location best fit my schedule. Due to scheduling and my cycle, Dr. Seckon performed my egg retrieval. Dr. Nazem was the one who planned my treatment, performed my successful transfer, including my monitoring after my positive pregnancy test. I really felt cared for, and heard the entire time...
Nurses [at RMA of New York] always called back promptly if I had any additional questions or concerns. My egg retrieval was in 2020 during the summer of the pandemic. I was on Menopur, Follistim, Lupron, Ganirelix, and Pregnyl for my trigger. I was thankfully not over stimulated. Out of 15/16 follicles, 13 eggs were retrieved. 9 fertilized, and 8 made it to blasts. Transfers took place end of 2021. First transfer prep estrace 3 x day, and 5 days before transfer 1 baby aspirin/day, and 1ml of progesterone in oil. Transfer was unsuccessful. Second transfer estrace 3 x day, 5 days before transfer baby aspirin, 1ml of progesterone in oil, medrol, lovenox. Transfer was successful, and currently pregnant.

Dr. Lederman is very kind and approachable. He is happy to answer questions and allows his personality and compassion to shine through in his work...Dr. Lederman was extremely helpful in making me feel like I wasn't the only person who has experienced this, and he shared that even though it was not the outcome we hoped for, the retrieval round provided us with good information moving forward....
[RMA of New York] Strengths: evidence-based, tons of research goes into their strategies, highly knowledgeable, good reputation Weaknesses: sometimes can be disorganized, it's a huge clinic so sometimes you feel like a "number"...[nurses are] Truly amazing. So kind, loving, and they're really rooting for you...they only do single embryo transfers, as far as I know...
How was your experience with Matthew Lederman at RMA of New York?
When I initially consulted with Dr. Lederman, I had no idea what to expect. He was helpful in providing education to my husband and I around fertility procedures, etc. We did several diagnostic tests, and ultimately had the diagnosis of unexplained infertility. We proceeded with 3 rounds of IUI; none of which resulted in a positive pregnancy test. Then, we moved toward IVF. For my first egg retrieval, we learned that my egg quality seemed somewhat compromised, and I had challenges with retrieving mature eggs. We ended up with two embryos from the first retrieval, both of which unfortunately were chromosomally abnormal (we had them PGT tested). I was devastated, and Dr. Lederman was extremely helpful in making me feel like I wasn't the only person who has experienced this, and he shared that even though it was not the outcome we hoped for, the retrieval round provided us with good information moving forward. We did another egg retrieval, with altered protocol to hopefully get more eggs, and ended up with 2 normal PGT tested embryos. We transferred one, which resulted in a chemical pregnancy. Again, I felt so defeated. Dr. Lederman called me throughout each stage of the process to provide me with updated on embryo growth, next steps, and encouragement. We went to go transfer the other embryo we had, and right before the procedure, learned that it had not survived being thawed (this was a day-7 embryo). Yet again, I was crushed. Dr. Lederman provided as much reassurance as he could, given how sad I was. We took a break after that, as mentally I was feeling hopeless about the process. A few months later, we did 2 more rounds of egg retrievals, both times getting 2 chromosomally normal embryos - leaving us with 4 total. We transferred one, which resulted in a negative pregnancy test. Transferred another, which resulted in a chemical pregnancy. Transferred a third, and finally we had our strong, positive pregnancy test. After nearly 2 years of working with Dr. Lederman, I am in my second trimester of pregnancy. I cannot express enough how his dedication, warmth, and encouragement meant to my husband and I. Stick with it, and Dr. Lederman will certainly stick with you.
What's one piece of advice would you give a prospective patient of Matthew Lederman at RMA of New York?
Ask questions, express any concerns you have. He is reassuring and knowledgeable.
During treatment, were you treated like a number or a human with Matthew Lederman at RMA of New York?

Insurance covered some, but out of pocket we spent around $25,000
Describe Matthew Lederman's approach to eSET (elective single embryo transfer) vs. multiple embryo transfer at RMA of New York.

She [Dr. Sekhon] really listened to me and made me feel totally comfortable asking questions. I felt like a person vs. just another number. I appreciated how practical she is. I'm a worrier, but she put me at ease which is not an easy feat...She never made me feel rushed and I always felt that she really cared about ensuring I was comfortable...standard egg freezing cycle. I responded well the medication and completed my cycle within 10 days...
I found the whole staff [at RMA of New York] very caring and willing to answer all my questions. They were prompt in reaching out and I always felt at ease...Great location with nice facilities (love the downtown location), efficient (rarely had to wait more than 15-20 min during monitoring to have my ultrasound), friendly (even the blood-taking tech put me at ease about the needles I'd be using)...
How was your experience with Lucky Sekhon at RMA of New York?
I met Dr. Lucky around my 31st birthday and decided at the time to hold off on egg freezing for a couple more years. Around my 33rd, I was no longer living in NYC and considered another, nationally known clinic - I had a horrible, disorganized experience and did not proceed with treatment. Several girlfriends had gone to Dr. Lucky and rated their experience 10/10 so I decided to make the journey to NY to work with her. It was absolutely worth it. She really listened to me and made me feel totally comfortable asking questions. I felt like a person vs. just another number. I appreciated how practical she is. I'm a worrier, but she put me at ease which is not an easy feat! No hesitation, she's the only fertility doctor I'd go to!
What's one piece of advice would you give a prospective patient of Lucky Sekhon at RMA of New York?
Don't be afraid to ask questions! Be open about what you're concerned about and ask all the questions you need.
During treatment, were you treated like a number or a human with Lucky Sekhon at RMA of New York?

Everything felt personal; from her [Dr. Gerber] relating her own experiences as a mother to helping us navigate financial concerns as my husband had just lost his job. On follow up visits, she remembers me and my story...starting the antagonist protocol in April 2022. I'll be taking two injections each day; Follistim in the morning and Menopur in the evening for 9-12 days.Ganirelix/Cetrotide, will be added on when the egg follicles reach 13mm...
The finance coordinator [at RMA of NY] was not always the easiest to communicate with. She sent me information without reviewing my chart to see what had already been completed. Additionally, when I ask her a question, she often answers vaguely, which requires me to ask follow up questions....I requested that the results of my saline ultrasound be sent to my obgyn. I filled out the necessary paperwork to request the documents and made sure my consent was on file. The documents were never sent. When I called to follow up, they said they would call back and never did. However, when I mentioned to Dr. Gerber during my appointment, she personally send the records the next day...
How was your experience with Rachel Gerber at RMA of New York?
It was immediately evident that Dr. Gerber was interested in our "story" and the journey my husband and I were taking towards building a family. Everything felt personal; from her relating her own experiences as a mother to helping us navigate financial concerns as my husband had just lost his job. On follow up visits, she remembers me and my story. On one occasion, I reached out to the RMA office for records. The office never got back to me and I never received what was requested; when I mentioned this to Dr. Gerber during my next appointment, she personally sent me what I needed the very next day. I have full faith in her expertise as a Dr. and cannot wait for her to guide me through the next steps.
What's one piece of advice would you give a prospective patient of Rachel Gerber at RMA of New York?
Share your concerns openly. Although I was initially embarrassed to share some of my concerns, I never felt judged and she put my mind at ease.

I have not had too many interactions as of yet. She has sent me the details of my protocol and seems very organized. She has answered all of my questions so far.
Describe your experience with RMA of New York.
The finance coordinator was not always the easiest to communicate with. She sent me information without reviewing my chart to see what had already been completed. Additionally, when I ask her a question, she often answers vaguely, which requires me to ask follow up questions. Regarding the clinic in general, it is sometimes frustrating that there is not a direct phone number to reach the Mount Kisco location.

I went through what was fortunately a very straightforward egg freezing cycle with Dr. Sekhon. The initial consultation appointment was very thorough, and left me with a clear idea of what to reasonably expect for someone freezing at my age (37). I saw Dr. Sekhon several times during my cycle, and each time, even during very brief monitoring appointments, she expertly balanced the straightforward sharing of information about how the cycle was progressing with empathy and care.
RMA is a well-oiled machine - they know what they're doing. Despite being a big practice, it was easy for me to reach my care team and everyone I spoke with throughout the process was calm and helpful...They [nurses] called me after every monitoring appointment, and all my calls and questions were returned and answered quickly and calmly. Their clear communication made the process run smoothly.

I saw Dr. Sekhon several times during my cycle, and each time, even during very brief monitoring appointments, she expertly balanced the straightforward sharing of information about how the cycle was progressing with empathy and care. I was grateful that she was easy to reach with questions, and honest about both the potential and limitations of the freezing process. Her care and that of her team made a daunting process very manageable.
What's one piece of advice would you give a prospective patient of Lucky Sekhon at RMA of New York?
I had to book several weeks out for both my initial consultation and follow up appointment, so be prepared for a possible wait. The time in the appointments moves quickly, and there's a lot of information to process - preparing questions beforehand will help you ensure you have all the info you need (and you can also email her if you need to follow up).

Dr. Sekhon gave a thorough overview of the egg freezing process, and made sure I knew how to reach her and her team with any follow up questions. She responded quickly to my questions, and her team was friendly and easy to reach, which helped make the process very smooth.
Describe the protocols Lucky Sekhon used in your cycles at RMA of New York and their degree of success.
I had a very straightforward treatment plan for my egg retrieval - Gonal-F and Menopur for 8-9 days, followed by a trigger shot. Dr. Sekhon attenuated the medication after my monitoring appointments.

As difficult as the process is, she [Dr. Thornton] always made me feel at ease and helped me to stop stressing by answering all of my questions (and very promptly) with great insight and knowledge. When things did not go quite as expected with my first egg retrieval, she quickly put a new plan in place and thoroughly explained next steps and the chances of the next cycle working, which helped me feel calm and optimistic.
[RMA of New York] is definitely a very big clinic, but I really enjoyed going to the Downtown office, which is much smaller than the main office on the UES. I never waited very long for my monitoring appointments and I almost always saw my actual doctor, which allowed me to ask her any questions in person and to find out next steps right then and there during the monitoring appointment.

Dr. Flisser was always very professional and straightforward during my treatment. During our consultation he advised I start IVF given my age and difficulty conceiving, but I opted for IUI to begin and he was supportive. I wish I had started IVF sooner and trusted his counsel more...He was very straightforward and answered my questions without making me feel like I was taking up too much of his times...
RMA handles a lot of patients. Some staff were very professional and kind and others were very brusque. Morning hours started 6:45ish...Dr. Flisser's nursing team communicated well and compassionately. His IVF coordinator was also helpful with all of our questions...The people who handle transactions tend to be the least friendly. The financial coordinators are nice but I'm sure they have to deal with a lot of questions and blowback for what isn't covered by insurance...

I really enjoyed my experience with Dr. Flisser and his team. He was very straightforward and answered my questions without making me feel like I was taking up too much of his times. And I was able to conceive after my first cycle, so I'm very pleased with how effective the protocol was.

RMA handles a lot of patients. Some staff were very professional and kind and others were very brusque. Morning hours started 6:45ish so I can understand that some people aren't morning people. Going earlier was better, and often worked, especially since my work starts promptly at 8am. But later patients would run into backups for monitoring.

She [Dr. Jackson-Bey] displayed her strengths and that is first her expertise/knowledge in this area or field. She exhibit that she have mastered the skill of time management not allowing me wait long periods of time despite me arriving late to appointment. She is the fastest doctor I have seen in the health care system who knows where to begin when entering the treatment room and end it by asking if I have any questions for her. Her tone and delivery of information as well as the level of care made my experience a memorable one....

"You are in good hands" as Dr. Tia Jackson-Bey said to me on Friday September 2, 2022 before my egg retrieval procedure.
During treatment, were you treated like a number or a human with Tia Jackson-Bey at RMA of New York?
Her professionalism and work ethic is what made me feel like a human being. Her expertise/knowledge, her communication, tone and delivery of information is what made me feel like a human being. She is also fast/quick where patients are not waiting long periods of time.
Describe the protocols Tia Jackson-Bey used in your cycles at RMA of New York and their degree of success.
I did not have the funds and was waiting for the paperwork to be completed with the company RMA contracts to be approved for a loan. The strategy that Dr. Tia Jackson-Bey recommended was take birth control to hold off my cycle and give time for the paperwork to be completed for 10 days and then start my cycle. Or I could wait until the end of August to begin a new cycle. She gave me options to choose. Secondly, after choosing to take birth control and assessing that it did not work at time of appointment. She recommend that I return back to the clinic another week for assessment. By then I was recommend to take one of the injections medication before returning. The rationale for this was so that my paperwork can be completed within the time frame taking the birth control. Second, when the birth control did not work the injection medication was the next option. That did not work as only one follicle developed so waiting for my next cycle to come was the last option which was a success and started treatment.
Describe your experience with your nurse at RMA of New York. (Assigned nurse: Lucy Arnerich-Hatch )
There are no weaknesses I detected from Lucy Arnerich-Hatch. This RN played a significant role where I gained the confidence to learn how to inject myself with the medication. She is extremely patient, allowed me to stop her to obtain more clarity even when I repeated myself over and over to her and she would confirm. The written instructions sent me via email was clear, specific, detail and this made my experience injecting the medication an smooth and educational process. I would ask her to please call me back when I was in case conference because it was extremely important to me to hear everything she had to say although I would get an email. She is a teacher and love everything about her professionalism. During my tutorial, she had a sample to show me how to mix the medication and inject.
Describe your experience with RMA of New York.
There are cleaning supplies everywhere front desk, waiting area, bathroom and in the treatment rooms. The clinic is clean and spacious. The staff are accommodating and clean the chairs and pen upon request. Even if they did, they do it again for me to see and feel comfortable. There no weaknesses I have detected about this location.
