Attention to Detail
Attention to detail is on a 1 - 10 scale, and is scored based on the rate, and severity, of errors committed by the clinic according to the patients.
For example, a severe error might be failing to inform a patient of critical information, while a small error might be failing to call a patient with results.
CDC Success Rates
This is the most recent data from the CDC. The CDC cautions that it should not be used to compare doctors and clinics. This data represents the outcomes of IVF cycles when using a person's own eggs.
For more information please see our FAQs.
Where you see a “?” on the chart, a clinic has done fewer than 20 cycles in this category and age range, so the CDC says showing percentages from this small data set would be misleading and unreliable.
Dr. Goodman has been very compassionate. I originally saw her for PCOS diagnosis and management. She was honest and blunt with me but in a compassionate way. I have recently started seeing her for help conceiving and so far the experience has been great...I felt like I could have a conversation with her and get my questions and concerns addressed. She never made me feel rushed.
The [Reproductive Medicine Group] clinic seems well organized when I have visited. However, I did have an issue recently with some miss communication. I was trying to make an appointment and the clinic stated that I couldn't due to an unpaid bill from several years ago. I called billing who stated they did not see anything outstanding on my account. When I called the clinic back they said they would look into it and call me back but no one ever did. I eventually called again and they let me make an appointment at that time. Other than that the clinic has been great on calling me when they say they will and checking up on me as I have progressed through the testing process.

Describe the specific things that went wrong at The Reproductive Medicine Group.
The conflicting information was in regards to the previously described issue with making an appointment.
When I scheduled my HSG the clinic did not call in my prescriptions for my antibiotic and pain reliever so I had to call them but they were very prompt on addressing the issue.
He [Dr. Samuel Tarantino] is a knowledgeable doctor, explains all the steps the patient has to go through under IUI or IVF treatments. Good sense of humor, optimists and makes sure to share clearly all the medical reasons of his decisions...3 of IUIs resulted negative and one of them on a miscarriage pregnancy. Then the doctor decided to move to the IVF procedure.
[The Reproductive Medicine Group] Strength: helpful and professional team, several locations, knowledgeable doctors. Weaknesses: There is not the same service quality at all locations. A few times they have stressed me out with their indifference while I've needed their assistance. And being stressed affects the treatment and the results...All the Clearwater staff take good care of their patients, are compassionate and professional.

At all 4 IUIs, Clomid was prescribed. I don't remember excatly what where other medications. But 3 of IUIs resulted negative and one of them on a miscarriage pregnancy. Then the doctor decided to move to the IVF procedure. The first cycle resulted with 23 eggs retrieved, 12 embryo, 1 normal embryo which was trasnfered but didn't result in a pregnancy. The second IVF cycle resulted with 17 eggs retrieved, 13 embryo, 6 blast, 2 normal. Waiting for another retrieval cycle to get more normal embryos, then having a transfer.
Describe your experience with your nurse at The Reproductive Medicine Group. (Assigned nurse: Melissa)
All the Clearwater staff take good care of their patients, are compassionate and professional. The coordinator Heather is very knowledgeable, responsive and organized. I liked the way she works and takes care of her patients since day 1. I would recommend anyone to have her as an IVF coordinator. Melissa the nurse as well, is very committed on giving the best treatment and service to the patients. She spends the right time with me, answering all my questions, clarifying all my doubts and assisting me with an exellent service. Jacinda the sonographer, is very patient and professional also. Treats everyone in a friendly manner and makes me feel comfortable. They all work as a team.
The employers at other locations didn't fulfill my expectations at all, they can't be compare at the Clearwater team in many ways. The ART team has a few professional nurses/specialists I've worked with. Responsive and knowledgeable, always returning my calls on time and offering assistance at every step.

While I was covered by Insurance for 10k lifetime, I payed 10k + self pay in the first IVF cycle. 6-7K for the second 3gg retrieval. Now that I've reached the max of the lifetime limit at my Insurance coverage, I have to pay everything myself. About 10k- 13K+ for the retrieval and visits, bloodwork, 6K medications. I don't know what the total amount for the transfer will be yet and the rest of the medication(shots). Will end up to 20K- 25K +
Describe Samuel Tarantino's approach to eSET (elective single embryo transfer) vs. multiple embryo transfer at The Reproductive Medicine Group.
Single embryo it's safer for the embryo itself and more chances to survive, to get a positive pregnancy test.
She [Dr. McCormick] is great at explaining things in a way that is understandable. She follows the practices protocols even when I have asked to change treatment plans which is frustrating. I had to wait 3 cycles before I could meet with the dr again...My treatment was timed relations with 5mg of letrozole and injectable HCG. She believed that with my ovation reserve I should get pregnant on my own with some assistance
[staff at Reproductive Medicine Group] Great at taking blood. Ultrasounds are always quick. You could be waiting 30-45 minutes to go back for a 5 min ultrasound appointment. Great bedside manner. Love the staff always friendly. Weakness would be some staff has a hard time reading the request on file. I have had to explain what I am supposed to be coming in for when it should just be in my file plain as day.

I had the same stinographer every cycle. She makes it very personable.
Describe the protocols Betsy McCormick used in your cycles at The Reproductive Medicine Group and their degree of success.
I have PCOS and was on BC pills for 17 years. I had a huge ovarian reserve. My treatment was timed relations with 5mg of letrozole and injectable HCG. She believed that with my ovation reserve I should get pregnant on my own with some assistance. Since this has not worked for 5 cycles next step is IUI with the same meds. The meds work to mature and release an egg.
Describe your experience with the nursing staff at The Reproductive Medicine Group.
The nursing staff is always friendly. I had 1 issue where a nurse didnt understand the request based on notes in the file and I have had to push back. Since then I haven’t had that nurse and everything has been smooth.

Dr. Goodman is very knowledgeable and able to answer every question with more than just a vague answer. She clarifies why she chose my protocol, what studies she's looked at and what the Society of Reproductive Medicine recommends. She also was willing to do additional testing that I asked for.... The only thing I didn't like was that I wish before I had started my journey that I had been told about all of the studies and their differences so that I had a better expectation of what the success rate was based on my age.
All of the nursing staff [Repro Med Group] was very nice and easy to get in contact with. The only thing I didn't like was that each nurse gave a different answer to the same question and I spent most of my time with sonographers rather than nurses. However, if I had a question that the sonographer couldn't answer, she would always have a nurse call me.... Strengths - Easy to schedule appointments and be seen; I never felt rushed; All of my questions were answered; Easy to get in contact with; High success rates.

I've heard of other patients having to wait so be prepared for that. Do as much research as you can so that you can ask educated questions. Ask her to break down success rates based on age, not just success rates for that treatment.
During treatment, were you treated like a number or a human with Sandy Goodman at The Reproductive Medicine Group?
The clinic was very good at making sure I was seen on time and not left waiting. Dr. Goodman was available to answer my questions but I wish more information about statistics had been given to me. She is very knowledgeable and up-to-date with her information, and she will always clarify why she doesn't prefer one protocol vs another. The only thing I didn't like was that I wish before I had started my journey that I had been told about all of the studies and their differences so that I had a better expectation of what the success rate was based on my age. When I went back for my second consult with her after my IUIs didn't work, I had more knowledge and was able to ask more questions. I did feel a little rushed with her but not to the point that I felt uncomfortable asking her so many questions. The only other thing I found problematic was that the staff routinely gave me different answers for the same question.
Describe the protocols Sandy Goodman used in your cycles at The Reproductive Medicine Group and their degree of success.
She recommended that I start with medicated IUI's rather than unmedicated. Her plan was to do 3 of them and then re-group and decide what to do next. When the IUI's didn't work, she suggested moving forward with IVF rather than an IUI with injectable meds. She did not recommend a mini-IVF cycle (she said they don't do those) and she said they have not started doing INVO-cell. She recommended if I had the finances to do IVF first before moving to donor eggs. This protocol was picked because of my age and diminished ovarian reserve. I don't recall the success rate of IVF for someone with my issues, but I do recall Dr. Goodman advising me of the price and that I would have maybe one or two embryos if I did IVF (without PGS testing them). She did seem to be an advocate of PGS testing, but said they would not transfer an abnormal embryo.

Strengths - Easy to schedule appointments and be seen; I never felt rushed; All of my questions were answered; Easy to get in contact with; High success rates.
Weaknesses - Long waitlist for donor eggs; All procedures (IVF, donor eggs) are expensive; They do not offer embryo donation.
Describe the costs associated with your care under Sandy Goodman at The Reproductive Medicine Group.
Uninsured ultrasounds are approx. $150.00 (I think); IUI ~$350; IVF ~ $27,000.
Describe Sandy Goodman's approach to eSET (elective single embryo transfer) vs. multiple embryo transfer at The Reproductive Medicine Group.
At the IVF orientation I went to (ran by Dr. Yeko), I learned that RMG does not prefer to do multiple embryo transfer because of the risks associated with it.
We did a freeze all cycle [with Dr. Yeko] due to risk of OHSS and so we could do genetic testing. For our first two frozen embryo transfers I used progesterone and delestrogen IM injections. For this third cycle I am using the same but adding in vaginal progesterone and medrol to hopefully assist with implantation...I always felt like I knew what to expect and the next steps. He will be open and honest with you about everything. There is never a guarantee that you will get pregnant but when it does not happen he has sympathy for you and keeps you motivated for the next steps.
Nursing staff [at The Reproductive Medicine Group] has been great from the start. Always made me feel comfortable to discuss uncomfortable topics and have always called me back the same. I have had some trouble getting in contact with my assigned coordinator to start a cycle...[monitoring appointments] were always in the morning which was great, I could get in and out before work and still be on time. The ultrasound tech was also wonderful and the the process smooth.
How was your experience with Timothy Yeko at The Reproductive Medicine Group?
Dr. Yeko has been great from the first consultation to where I am now, however treatment has been unsuccessful. After each failed cycle he fully explained the next steps and gave me all of my options. He always explained every procedure and answered all questions. I always felt like I knew what to expect and the next steps. He will be open and honest with you about everything. There is never a guarantee that you will get pregnant but when it does not happen he has sympathy for you and keeps you motivated for the next steps.

Infertility is a journey but Dr. Yeko and the staff will be there with you every step of the way. It may not be successful on the first try but keep trying and make changes to your protocol.
During treatment, were you treated like a number or a human with Timothy Yeko at The Reproductive Medicine Group?
Everytime I am at the office the staff know who I am and call me by my name. They make me feel welcomed and like they care about my treatment.
Describe the protocols Timothy Yeko used in your cycles at The Reproductive Medicine Group and their degree of success.
Antagonist protocol with lupron trigger. I was on follistim and menopur. I do not know the rational but the results were great. I had 51 eggs retrieved, 42 were mature, 34 fertilized, 11 made it to day 5, 8 remained after testing. We did a freeze all cycle due to risk of OHSS and so we could do genetic testing. For our first two frozen embryo transfers I used progesterone and delestrogen IM injections. For this third cycle I am using the same but adding in vaginal progesterone and medrol to hopefully assist with implantation.

Describe Timothy Yeko's approach to eSET (elective single embryo transfer) vs. multiple embryo transfer at The Reproductive Medicine Group.
Only transferred 1 embroyo at the doctors suggestion. I trusted his recommendation so I followed it for the first two cycles. For this upcoming third cycle I insisted I wanted to transfer 2 embryos.
She [Dr. Betsy McCormick] is not personable or compassionate at all. she just goes by statistics, physiology, and averages. She gives zero hope to someone who is desperate to have a child. She blames age as being the absolute end to possible positive outcomes and pushes for IVF too much. I had to push back and almost demand to try IUI since i do not have the funds for IVF at that clinic as they are outrageous in cost and they will not price match. They have cost saving options but only if you are under a certain age.
I feel the nurses [at Reproductive Medicine Group-Tampa] do a much better job showing compassion than the doctors. Nurses will take the time and sit with me and answer every question in detail. They showed that they cared.... I do not have any complaints about the clinic. However I feel like their equipment might be a little outdated. their ultrasound machines, especially the monitors were old. It would also be nice to have the sonograms on a screen visible to the patient.

Make sure you tell her what you want to try. Do not let her bully you into going straight to IVF and demand ALL the tests.
During treatment, were you treated like a number or a human with Betsy McCormick at The Reproductive Medicine Group?
She seems to follow the same protocol for all patients. A friend and I both went to RMG and both got same treatment plan, timing, and dosage of medications. I feel like I was not treated specifically to my case but instead as national average. I have a shorter cycle and she still treated me as if i have a 28 day cycle.
Describe the protocols Betsy McCormick used in your cycles at The Reproductive Medicine Group and their degree of success.
She did not go over treatment protocols with me. The nurses did. They prescribed a baseline ultrasound, 100mg Clomid, a mid-cycle ultrasound, Ovidrel trigger shot, then IUI 36 to 48 hours later

Diagnostic labs and ultrasounds are covered by my insurance. IUI procedure was out of pocket and consisted of the following. Baseline ultrasound $155.00 Clomid $35.00 Mid-cycle ultrasound $155.00 each. IUI procedure including sperm ash $375.00. IVF cost was quoted to me at approx $26,000. (I cannot afford this so I did not do it)
What specific things went wrong at The Reproductive Medicine Group?
Dr. Goodman has always spent the time I needed to answer all my questions warmly yet candidly. After my lap, she explained my results in laymen’s terms and was optimistic. My only negative comment is I felt she tried to use fear tactics into convincing me to get my husband a genetic test. When I never wanted any of that testing to begin with.I had to explain to her more than once I did not want it, but she finally understood and respected my decision.
Usually minimal wait time [at Reproductive Medicine Group-Tampa]. Although once I did wait an hour. Mostly they are very professional. The surgery center staff was incredible and comforted my anxiety during my preparation time. The office is clean and organized. I would suggest they discuss emotional support resources for infertility or at least ask how you are doing. There are brochures you can grab in the lobby but I would feel better if someone at least checked in.

I had good coverage for testing and procedures but my out of pocket costs were sometimes high. I was fortunate enough to have been able to save to cover this. Everything was due upon service with no options for payment plans.
I feel the doctor [Dr. Sandy Goodman] is very speedy with visits, however it does seem she is involved and intrigued...I feel the doctor is very knowledgeable and up to date with the latest treatments. She understands what will help or not in order to have success. She gives a realistical outcome for your situation. Very honest and open to questions...Be prepared for short sessions, and possibly another doctor to perform a procedure on you as well as nurses doing the iui.
The staff [at The Reproductive Medicine Group] works hard to keep the clients happy in an orderly fashion. Not a very big place and very busy at times, but they try to make you feel not like a number. Clean environment. Appointment times can be on time or you may have to wait. Phone lines are either open or hard to get through on days...They [nurses] work very hard, and have a lot of patients to attend to. So procedures can be quick but efficient. Always answer questions, friendly and approachable...my out of pocket expenses were $150 for each ultrasound, and $380 for the semen wash/preparation and insemination.

Vaginal ultrasound to check for cysts on around day 3 of period. If all looked normal, begin taking 5mg of Femara that night for 5 nights. The choice of this drug because it worked better with less side effects. In about another week and 1/2 have another transvaginal ultrasound to check for folicle size and quantity. If either ovary side had one folicle over around 18mm, I was instructed to either take an injectable that night or the next night between 8-10 pm. In order for the follicle to mature in time for an iui procedure in around 3 days later. The morning of the iui, husband would go in to give sperm sample. After the process of the sperm, I would go in about 3 hours later for insemination. After a very painful 1st insemination, the nurse instructed me to have a full bladder the next time which did help. I would then lay on the table after the iui for about 15 mins.

Describe Sandy Goodman's approach to eSET (elective single embryo transfer) vs. multiple embryo transfer at The Reproductive Medicine Group.
Dr. Tarantino thought that maybe the Lupron trigger hadn't worked correctly on me. He said some women's brains don't have the appropriate reaction to the Lupron and the eggs and not matured correctly or fully, creating the abnormalities, which he said the PGS indicated were all maternal issues. This is why he switched to HCG. I agreed after reading, although I was surprised that I only had two blasts, but thankfully they were great quality and both normal, so it worked out!
The group [The Reproductive Medicine Group] is a very large group, there is just no way for the physicians to know you individually. I have had an experience where my MD mixed up why I was there, or had to review my chart while I was there to confirm...I think the hardest thing for us was just the fact that the practice as a whole was so large, you see the MD for consent signing and the procedure, but none of the monitoring throughout...Second cycle, this office ordered lupron trigger instead of HCG. Which was the whole change for my protocol.
How was your experience with Samuel Tarantino at The Reproductive Medicine Group?
We really liked Dr. Tarantino's personality, he is very friendly and jovial. He is easy for my husband to talk with from a man's perspective this is important, as it's such a sensitive subject to begin with. I think the hardest thing for us was just the fact that the practice as a whole was so large, you see the MD for consent signing and the procedure, but none of the monitoring throughout. I know this is par for the course for a practice this big, but sometimes I just wish we could have more one on one time.
For our first round we had all abnormal embryos, and from my own research I felt we should change the trigger, Dr. Tarantino suggested this as well, so I felt comfortable that he was making changes instead of just sticking with the status quo.
What's one piece of advice would you give a prospective patient of Samuel Tarantino at The Reproductive Medicine Group?
He is experienced and knows what he is doing, just make sure you know what you need and ask for it! Don't be afraid to question decisions, make sure you keep track of your meds and everything.

Cycle 1 - Antagonist protocol with lupron trigger - they use lupron for everyone the first time because it is safer. I agree with this, but for me it did not produce good embryos. We retreived 11, 9 mature, 7 fertilized, 3 blasts (2 BB and 1 BC, so not great quality) and NONE came back PGS normal.
Cycle 2 - Antagonist with HCG trigger, 14 retrieved, 11 mature, 8 fertilized, 2 blasts (but better quality, 1 AA and 1 AB), both were PGS normal!
Dr. Tarantino thought that maybe the Lupron trigger hadn't worked correctly on me. He said some women's brains don't have the appropriate reaction to the Lupron and the eggs and not matured correctly or fully, creating the abnormalities, which he said the PGS indicated were all maternal issues. Describe your experience with the nursing staff at The Reproductive Medicine Group.
We have two sets of nurses, the nurses from my office location - clearwater, and the ART nurses, who handle all of the IVF retrieval and transfer cycles. The nurse at my main office location actually made an error on my second cycle and ordered lupron as my trigger, this mistake carried down throughout the ENTIRE prep for my second cycle. Every single nurse would call and try to confirm I was using lupron trigger, which i was not. I was very upset with this, because I know using HCG would change the way I was monitored when it comes to OHSS, etc. So i really didn't want there to be even a single trace of a lupron trigger being used. Finally right before stims started I called and spoke with the ART nurses and was firm but respectful in requesting that they review my charts and make sure all traces of lupron were removed because I was worried that the physician would make decisions based off lupron and not HCG (especially since I said the practice is so large and there is no way for the MDs to remember individual patients). Thankfully the ART nurses appeased me and made sure all lupron traces were removed and never mentioned it again.

a full cycle with PGS and meds was around 20K.
Describe Samuel Tarantino's approach to eSET (elective single embryo transfer) vs. multiple embryo transfer at The Reproductive Medicine Group.
I agree with him, I am fine with single embryo, since I have never been pregnant there isn't history showing I should try multiple and personally I don't want multiples.

Second cycle, this office ordered lupron trigger instead of HCG. Which was the whole change for my protocol.
He [Dr. Tarantino] has a very different sense of humor that sometimes was hard to read. I also did not feel like he put enough effort into our treatments. I was the one requesting more test and asking for more meds to be used during the IUI's we had performed. There was no direction on how many we should do before exploring IVF. I was already almost 35 when I visited him for the first consultation so I feel like now after doing more research and talking to others going through treatments, that we should have been put on meds to increase our chances right away.
They [Reproductive Med Group] have multiple offices so location choices were nice but only certain doctors at certain locations. It seemed each doctor would operate out of 2 of the 4 offices. If you were willing to see you doctor at either it made getting appointments easier. The N Tampa office also had a surgery center located in the same building.... I just remember one of my IUI cycles they hadn't put me in the actual schedule for my appointment the day I was ovulating

We spent so much money in just IUI's doing 4 natural cycles and then only 1 cycle with chlomid on the 5th one, and again I had to ask for it. I felt like he would have just kept letting us waste money. It turned me off from going there and so I went to USF IVF starting in May of 2018.
What's one piece of advice would you give a prospective patient of Samuel Tarantino at The Reproductive Medicine Group?
You have to have a lot of knowledge about what you want going into it already because he is very passive.
During treatment, were you treated like a number or a human with Samuel Tarantino at The Reproductive Medicine Group?
I felt sometimes that we had to request things and there was not a lot of direction given to us.
Describe the protocols Samuel Tarantino used in your cycles at The Reproductive Medicine Group and their degree of success.
4 natural cycle IUI with home OPK using donor sperm. 1 cycle with chlomid and home OPK using donor sperm. Also performed all testing for hormone levels during cycle and ovarian reserve (AMH) along with saline sonogram and HSG. Before we did the first cycle of IUI he removed polyps found in my uterus during the Saline sonogram. He also perform my D&C for my miscarriage (missed abortion).

Quiet and soft spoken but very nice. Also tended to be passive at times but helpful when approached with questions or concerns.

I just remember one of my IUI cycles they hadn't put me in the actual schedule for my appointment the day I was ovulating. (they had accidently schedule it for like a week later) Luckily they still saw me but it made me get anxiety for a few minutes thinking they would cancel that cycle.
During our consultation, he [Dr Timothy Yeko] provided statistics and probabilities for success for our given IF situation. I appreciate this approach, as I like data. But he was compassionate as well. I didn't feel like a number. He was dead on for my prescribed treatment, because not once did the nurses have to adjust my protocol.
The staff at the Brandon office [of The Reproductive Medicine Group] was amazing. Amy was the best. She was the US technician and the main person I communicated with for all of my checks. She remembered us when we came back for FET consultation. She's patient and thorough, and can answer questions as good, if not better than the doctors!...For Fresh IVF cycle with ICSI it cost about $11,000. Meds were approx $2400. For Frozen transfer, cost is about $4000, meds were appox $400
How was your experience with Timothy Yeko at The Reproductive Medicine Group?
Dr. Yeko is clearly very knowledgeable in the area of RE and infertility. He was kind to my husband and to me, and never seemed to rush us through our consultation appointments. During our consultation, he provided statistics and probabilities for success for our given IF situation. I appreciate this approach, as I like data. But he was compassionate as well. I didn't feel like a number. He was dead on for my prescribed treatment, because not once did the nurses have to adjust my protocol. Everything went exactly as planned, to the date. He was not the doctor who actually performed the retrieval or transfer though. The transfer did result in a pregnancy and live birth and I received a kind note from Dr. Yeko congratulating us. I recently saw him again to prepare for FET. I did take him a minute to remember us, but once he reviewed my file, he seemed to remember.
What's one piece of advice would you give a prospective patient of Timothy Yeko at The Reproductive Medicine Group?
He is not there to make the decision for you. He will present you your options, he will give you the data you need to make the decision on your best course of actions. But ultimately the decision is yours to make.
During treatment, were you treated like a number or a human with Timothy Yeko at The Reproductive Medicine Group?
I felt as though Dr. Yeko was very thorough in his initial meeting with my husband and me. He walked us through all of the possibilities, our different options, numbers and percentages. I am very numbers and statistics driven, so I appreciated this approach. He did not force us into one decision over another (IUI vs IVF) but instead talked through the pros and cons of each, and the probability of success for us, given our situation. He spent as much time as we needed, and answered all of our questions and concerns relating to IVF. He did refer us to his staff when we had specific questions relating to my protocol (once it was assigned). We recently met with him again to talk about frozen transfer for baby 2, and he was again, very thorough. He anticipated questions I would have, before I even had a chance to ask them.
Describe the protocols Timothy Yeko used in your cycles at The Reproductive Medicine Group and their degree of success.
I stimmed with ganirelix and follistem, and triggered with lupron. They retrieved 19 eggs, 18 fertilized via ICSI, and 10 made it to day 5. I transferred 1 and frozen the remaining 9.

He [Dr. Tarantino] is very nice and seems to know my case well. With that said all my bloodwork was normal and my husbands SA was great and he assured me I’d get pregnant on clomid. When I didn’t, we went on to IUI and said I would get pregnant during these 3/4 cycles. Two cycles in and I am not pregnant so it is disappointing and I wish he hadn’t set my expectations so high...Clomid and timed relations for 3 cycles. Then letrozole with IUI for 3-4 cycles
They [The Reproductive Medicine Group] lay out the prices of everything at the first visit which I thought was very helpful, including what your insurance does and doesn’t cover. They are friendly and seem to be organized...The front desk person told me I only had one IUI cycle left even though I had cancelled a previous IUI. I clarified with the nurse that the cancelled IUI did not count.....

Not covered by insurance, each sonogram is $155. Two sonograms per IUI cycle. Each IUI is $375. The HSG was around $300 I believe.

Dr. Yeko was willing to sit down with me and husband and explain our options. He didn’t deny treating us like another doctor did and gave us hope, which ultimately led to a valid pregnancy... was very straightforward with his recommended plan of action and the reasoning behind it. He explained in full detail what our options were and used some out of the box methods for our treatments...There were times when we felt a bit rushed during our visits with him so I would suggest that you make sure you have all your questions prepared and fully answered before leaving.
Our nurse who worked with us on the surrogate process [at The Reproductive Medicine Group] was pretty disorganized and not overly accommodating. This was a major weakness for us. Appointments were fairly easy to obtain, so that was a pro...The nurse team was compassionate and fully answered any questions we had. I have gone through 3 cycles [with Dr. Betsy McCormick] and we’ve only been able to do 1 IUI so far. The first round I took Clomid and had every side effect possible. We were unsuccessful. The second round we tried Femara and my eggs were not maturing so we never tried for a second IUI. During my 3rd cycle my period was 2 weeks late. We are hoping to be able try again next month.
I really like Heather [nurse at The Reproductive Medicine Group]. She has a way of explaining things and she puts me at ease...I think they need to do a better job of informing patients of the timing of things so not to waste their time or money...I wish it was easier to get through to the Clearwater location by phone. I was told she was one of the best. She helped several people we know so we’re putting our faith in her. This is a very emotional journey. Nothing can really prepare you for it mentally. Currently it’s not going as we hoped, but this is at no fault of our doctor’s.

She [Dr. Goodman] was very good in the office but was hard to get reach on the phone. She has a pretty serious personality so if you like a doctor with a sense of humor she may not be the one for you, but she is thorough... We had specific meds left over from a previous cycle we wanted to use and she worked with that. Looking back i’m Not sure if that was the best thing for us or if she felt we were pushing her that way. I wish she would have given us more professional advice.
I love, love that they [Repro Med Group] have your protocol typed up step by step with dates of US/bloodwork written in. This is so helpful as it is hard to remember everything at these appointments. On the other hand, communication was not the best. It took a while for staff to get back with me when i called asking a question. I’m not sure if that was on the doctor’s end or the staff’s end.

She [Dr. Sandy Goodman] explains things well and very compassionate. My only negative aspect is that through months of treatment I only seen her once. I did 2 failed Iui cycles and she communicated with the nurses to tell me what to do but I only actually saw her at my initial consultation.... Started with iui because I previously already did 3 months of clomid that were unsuccessful. Both iui failed while taking 5mg femera. Only produced one egg. 3rd month i developed a cyst and now I'm doing a laparoscopy for endometriosis
Always had to be squeezed into an apt spot [at Reproductive Medicine Group- Brandon] l. Or had to travel to another clinic for an apt. But overall they were very kind and understanding. He [Dr. Yeko] was straightforward and honest. He doesn't beat around the bush....He seems extremely busy, but in the time he spent with us he was very straightforward. He flat out said he didn't want us wasting our money on my own eggs. I appreciated that. He is very informative. He explained the procedure from start to finish. Although we have not had the results we want so far he [Dr. Yeko] has still made us feel comfortable with what we have done at this point...He always fully explains our options and what he believes is the best course of treatment and why...I have been diagnosed with unexplained infertility. With Dr. Yeko we first did 3 IUIs. Because there is no known reason for our difficulty to get pregnant, IUI was obviously the first step because it is less stressful on your body and much cheaper. He recommended 3 cycles because that gives enough tries to give it a chance without continuing to throw money at something that wasn't working. All three were unsuccessful and my period started before I even took a pregnancy test. We then proceeded to our first IVF cycle. Dr. Yeko met with us and fully explained all of our options including fresh transfer, freezing all embryos and doing a frozen transfer, and genetic testing of the embryos. We chose to do a fresh transfer which resulted in a chemical pregnancy. We met with him again and he explained that he felt we had a good chance at having a successful frozen cycle because they are able to better prepare the uterus for a frozen transfer as opposed to a fresh transfer since they don't have to worry about the egg retrieval as well. We proceeded with the frozen transfer which resulted in a second chemical pregnancy. We still have 2 more embryos frozen and are waiting a little for our bank account to recover before continuing with our fertility treatments.
The staff [at The Reproductive Medicine Group] was friendly and they were accommodating to our needs. I was able to schedule appointments at times that worked for me. My group has their own surgery center at their main location so all of their procedures are done there. My biggest complaint was that I had to go to the class to learn how to draw up medications and give injections despite the fact that I am a nurse and regularly draw up medications and teach people to give themselves or their children injections.
How was your experience with Timothy Yeko at The Reproductive Medicine Group?
Overall we had a good experience with Dr. Yeko. Although we have not had the results we want so far he has still made us feel comfortable with what we have done at this point. Our insurance does not cover any fertility treatment so everything has been out of pocket, including all of our testing, medications, IUIs and 2 IVF cycles but we still feel that continuing with Dr. Yeko will help us achieve our goal of having a child. He always fully explains our options and what he believes is the best course of treatment and why.
During treatment, were you treated like a number or a human with Timothy Yeko at The Reproductive Medicine Group?
He took the time to fully explain everything that we would be doing and what our options were. He answered all of our questions and made us feel comfortable with proceeding with the IUI and IVF processes. He never made us feel like he had somewhere better to be while talking to us.
Describe the protocols Timothy Yeko used in your cycles at The Reproductive Medicine Group and their degree of success.
I have been diagnosed with unexplained infertility.
Describe your experience with the nursing staff at The Reproductive Medicine Group.
In relation to my care the nursing staff did a good job. The biggest issue I had with them related to getting my FMLA paperwork filled out correctly. They repeatedly told me that IVF did not qualify for FMLA despite the fact that nurses at other offices for my RE group and the Leave Department at my work (I work for a large healthcare system) telling me that it did and they got and approved FMLA paperwork for IVF all the time. Luckily my manager was understanding or I could have been in jeopardy of losing my job over their handling of my FMLA.

Describe the costs associated with your care under Timothy Yeko at The Reproductive Medicine Group.
The IUIs were around $600 each I think but I do not remember the exact number. Our fresh transfer cost approximately $15,000 including medications and the frozen transfer was $4,500 including medications
Describe Timothy Yeko's approach to eSET (elective single embryo transfer) vs. multiple embryo transfer at The Reproductive Medicine Group.
Dr. Yeko told us that he prefers single embryo transfer and he fully explained why he felt that was the best option. He made sure we knew that it was ultimately up to us how many embryos were transferred but that he felt the best and safest option was single embryo transfer
What specific things went wrong at The Reproductive Medicine Group?
Failed to call with results
Describe the specific things that went wrong at The Reproductive Medicine Group.
For my second IVF cycle I had to call the clinic to get the results of my beta HCG because the nurse that would normally have handled calling me had called in and the other nurse was handling everything. Typically they call the results of the beta HCG first but I called them and left a message at 4:30pm because I had not heard anything. It was after 5pm before I got my results after getting my lab work done around 7 or 8 that morning.
