I will never forget Dr Elassar. I love how thorough and particular she was about my care. I felt like she monitored me vigilantly and made sure nothing was ever missed. I always felt like I was an important patient and that she really wanted me to get positive results. I was able to see her at every visit and she PERSONALLY performed my monitoring ultrasounds. I felt that she was 100% committed to us having a positive outcome. She was always accessible- she would even answer emails on weeknights personally! I feel that she practiced evidence based medicine and treated my body as an individual. She did not push medications with the mindset of “more is better”. She chose the most logical approach for me based off of my lab values, age and body. Not only was she extremely intelligent and good at her job but she was kind and caring and will I always remember her holding my hand while I underwent anesthesia for my egg retrieval. I was placed on an estrogen priming protocol. I was started on estrace tablets during my menstrual cycle which were stopped once my IVF medications were started. I was placed on Menopur 75 and Follistim 250 nightly while I was monitored. I had 12 eggs retrieved, 9 fertilized, 6 reached blastocyst stage and 3 were genetically normal.

The costs of medications, appointments and procedures were slightly higher than our previous clinic. However, we would do it all again as the care was far more individualized and superior.

The Doctor is an incredible person with a lot of experience in her field. She is always ready to answer any questions with scientific support. Additionally she is ready to have many options during the treatment if something is not working in your body.

Definitely this place is very personalized to your treatment. You are not going to feel that you are not important during this process. Every person on the team is always working together during your process.

The treatment that she used was very helpful to my body as I used the regular medication to obtain the eggs. During the transfer the medicine changed to tablets instead of injections because my body did not react correctly (especially with the progesterone).

Honest, professional, caring, empathic. She took the time to explain each step of the treatment and what to expect. I knew I could call her anytime for questions. I never doubter her professionalism as I was aware of the details of the procedure from my previous experiences.

Due to my age and 2 failing cycles of IVF made in another country, Dr Elassar decided to do two cycles of egg stimulations (and retrieval), fertilize the eggs retrieved in the first cycle them with my husband’ sperm and push to day 3, the second time fertilize them, and at day 3 defreeze the ones in the first set and then let them all survive to day 5. At day 5 the genetic test was performed and the good one was transferred one month later, after making sure my other problems were solved.

The cost were explained to me at the first appointment, which I like, because it gave clarity and expectations were set.

Dr. Elassar is the most amazing doctor. Literally the best physician I have ever been under the care of. What I love the most is that she she does not sugar coat the truth. If there is a concern, she tells you what it is and you make a plan together to work through it. She is very diligent and careful and makes sure that you are well informed about your care in every step of the process you are going through. She takes the time to help you understand and has a way of breaking down even the most complex aspects of the IVF process. You are more than just a patient. Dr. Elassar cares about you as a person.

Be prepared to have a direct conversation. While going through the IVF process is difficult and very sensitive, you need to have your eyes wide open. Dr. Elassar is very direct in her communication and tells you what you need to know even if it’s nor something you want to hear.

Approximately $15,000 - $20,000 per cycle inclusive, precediese, regular and follow-up appointments and genetic testing of embryos

Dr. Elassar’ main approach is eSet. However she understands when circumstances call for multiple embryo transfer and will help you understand the risks so that you can make the best decision.

My first meeting with Dr. Elassar was not what I expected. I had been to fertility doctors before and it was always the same routine: bloodwork, sonogram, etc. before I even spoke to anyone. Rushed around and not listened to. Over and over I was told “you’re young, you’re just overthinking it.” It was quite infuriating. Despite my setbacks and disappointments, I met with Dr. Elassar for the first time in November 2021. We sat in her office and had a long conversation about my history, my trials and errors with fertility, the fact that I have been trying to get pregnant for 5 years, my partner, my goals. She explained what is involved in fertility, things no other doctors had discussed, she even used diagrams. Dr. Elassar explained step by step what was involved and what my options were. Then we got to work. Ever since my very first ob/gyn visit as a teenager I was told I have a fibroid. Every fertility doctor I’ve seen has said, “you have a fibroid,” then moved on. Dr. Elassar, upon my first sonogram with her, also noted my fibroid. Our first attempt at IUI gave a positive hcg result. But the hcg level decreased rather than increase and the pregnancy did not take. Round 2 of IUI did not work at all. Dr. Elassar had me in for a saline sonogram to investigate the fibroid further. She reminded me of a great scientist (which she is) trying to solve a case. She suspected the fibroid may be causing a problem. She sent me for an MRI. I had never had an MRI. I found out I’m quite claustrophobic. I ran out of the MRI facility and went to Dr. Elassar and told her I couldn’t do it. She calmed me down, explained it will give the best image of the fibroid and gave me pointers on how to get through it. I did it! My first MRI successful thanks to Dr. Elassar. Not one doctor prior had ever mentioned that a fibroid may affect fertility. Dr. Elassar’s expertise and persistence to help her patients is finally leading to me getting some answers! Dr. Elassar found a doctor for me to go to get the fibroid removed. When the first available appointment to have initial consult was 3 months away, Dr. Elassar personally called and asked if I could be seen any earlier and I was pushed up a month. Having my doctor on my team has been a blessing. I am going for my post-op visit this week and the fertility journey will continue from there. For the first time in my life I feel hopeful that at least I have a doctor who cares.

Don’t wait to see Dr. Elassar. She will help you and you will be happy you met her.

I have had treatment for 2 cycles so far with Dr. Elassar. Because my thyroid levels were slightly off, she prescirbed Synthroid 50mcg daily. And each cycle I took Femara 2.5 mg tablets 2 tablets at 7pm each day for 5 days. This was to help induce ovulation. Then based upon my bloodwork I got an Ovidrel 250 mcg/0.5mL subcutaneous injection 2 days before IUI to help trigger ovulation. After IUI the first round, I started progesterone 100mg capsules twice a day to supplement my progesterone levels and help ensure the pregnancy. I did not take progesterone for round 2 if IUI because it didn’t make it that far.

Dr. Elassar is out of network with my insurance but she billed them for all appointments and procedures. Any amount the insurance reimbursed the office accepted and I paid out of pocket for visits until my deductible was met. The cost of each IUI was $2,000 out of pocket from myself.

The place is wonderful. Feels very personable and easy to work with. Everyone is very attentive and things are well organized. While the whole ivf process is annoying and emotionally draining it felt super easy compared to other places that we have gone to. The Doctor and the staff are great. Dr Elassar was straightforward, explained the process, concern when needed and offered options

At first Dr. Elassar’s cost may seem to be more than other clinics but it actually costs less. During my appointments I was seen by both the doctor and the nurse, whereas in a different well known clinic I had only seen the doctor during the consultation and all the monitoring was done by different nurses and technicians. As a result they kept missing my cycle. Dr. Elassar was very professional and through about the costs. You know exactly how much it will cost you ahead of time so you can prepare yourself.

Dr. Elassar was always attentive and adjusted our treatment based on our medical history and my body's response. My body was not always cooperating but we had trust and we were listening to each other, the knowledge and experience she has is obvious. She clearly cares about her work and did what she could to get us the results we were looking for for so long. I found Dr. Elassar through this website and hope I could help here with my review. Dr. Elassar and the NYC IVF team are amazing!. From the moment we first spoke with Dr. Elassar we knew we were in good hands. She is very professional and knew all the answers to our questions, she is truly knowledgeable. Unlike other doctors we saw, she brought warmth and a sense of ease to us. She outlined a plan for us and was very straightforward and very kind. The entire NYC IVF team was very helpful through the process, all email and phone calls were answered in a prompt manner. All the team deserves 5 stars from reception to the nurses which helped us through the medication process and explained in detail all questions we had. They also helped us with some insurance questions we had which made our journey a bit easier. During the visits, the staff was welcoming and we did not have to wait long periods which helped manage our rest of the day schedule. No one is perfect, but for me…this is as close to a super hero Dr. They come. Being and endocrinologist is hard. So many variables, but I have to say I cant imagine my journey of motherhood possible with anyone else. I have felt like she is always looking out for my health and safety first, while trying to give me what we so badly want. It’s been a long journey from removing my tubes to egg retrieval. But that is what as been so comforting. I have never felt rushed. She try’s to make things happen in the least invasive way before taking drastic steps like other Drs. Suggested. We still have ways to go, but this Dr. gives me hope. She works around my needs, she understands my life style and is so patient, which is key in something so time sensitive like these cycles. I trust her. And even if sometimes there are bumps on the road, I continue to trust and agree with the plan. She has in place for me.

Whatever ideas you created in your mind that a Endocrinologist is suppose to be…take that out of your mind. Dr. Elassar is a Dr., but she is also a Scientist. Sometimes non-cookie cutter Drs can intimidate us or make us quick to use the word weird, but if you genuinely walk in there with an open heart and open mind…I promise you’re gonna see this very gifted human.

I’ve had several journeys with Dr. Elassar. From removing my tubes, which where clogged and probably going to cause more damage down the road, to egg retrieval and transfer, to flash forward now. Trying to conceived, but my uterus is just not responding to the medicine. I love that everything is always done strategically in a way that will give me a higher risk of success, but to persevere my health so she doesn’t have to put me through so much. My my IVF cycle went well. We were able to freeze 7 embryos which fast forward, are hoping to transfer one soon. The issue we are having is my lining is just not getting thick, but thanks to her monitor it so closely with blood work and ultrasounds…I know we are gonna find a way to make this happen.

I do love that she explains all your options, while looking at the details of your health and age in wether a single or multiple is best for you.

She is a very proficient doctor that can explain in detail the whole fertility treatment and all the options we have to accomplish the goal to become moms. It feels very safe to be her patient. Since the first day she has explained every detail of the process, answer all our questions in person and via email, gave us the whole escenario for each of us (me and my wife) and shared with all all the important information.

Dr. Elassar treated me with respect, compassion, and professionalism. She saw me every visit and took the time to explain everything to me in detail and answer any questions. Throughout the whole process, Dr. Elassar was very caring and made me feel very confident and optimistic about trusting my treatment with her and her team. She clearly cared about me having a good outcome and equipped me with the knowledge to get the best results. She was extremely non-judgmental and comes across as highly intelligent, professional, and extremely capable in her field. Dr. Elassar made me feel great about the whole process with kindness and transparency and I could not recommend her more!

Bring a notebook and pen to every visit to take notes. Dr. Elassar taught me so much about my own body and the whole egg-retrieval process that it's easy to feel a little overwhelmed or like you missed something. She and her team readily answered any questions and responded promptly over email but I wish I brought a notebook and pen to each visit to reference later.

For the egg-retrieval process, Dr. Elassar put me on a 10-day cycle of injections with the expectation to take a "trigger shot" on the tenth day and retrieve the eggs on the 12th day (I think exactly 36 hours later). The primary medication was Gonal f and Follistim (my insurance did not cover the Gonal f but she gave me some that had been donated free of charge). I also started using Ganirelex on Day 5 to prevent ovulation. Everything went according to Dr. Elassar's plan, the only thing in question was whether I would start Ganirelex on day 5 or 6 but based on my Estrogen levels she decided I should take it on the 5th day. The procedure went as well as I could have hoped and we successfully froze 17 eggs which is close to what Dr. Elassar predicted.

To the best of my memory, the breakdown of the cost was as follows: $350 per doctor visit (approximately $2100), $8000 for the process including retrieval, and roughly $3800 for medications (including necessary refills), so altogether I believe I paid around $13900.

I did not ask about embryo transfer and that was not related to my procedure.

Dr. Elassar describes in detail what is necessary for your treatment. She is very direct, confident, and thorough. She will only proceed if she feels 100% and it allowed me to feel confident as well, even though I was disappointed to have to cancel cycles. Delaying was for the best, and she knew what was best. I trusted her completely.

Trust that she is the doctor and knows what is best for your case. She will look out for you and your needs fully. She isn't warm and cuddly, but is assertive, direct, and will get it done!

We changed from Lupron to birth control because I continued to ovulate through cycles. It was the right course of action and worked perfectly.

For me, very few of the costs were covered by insurance. They were always direct and upfront about any costs and it felt worth it to pay out of pocket in the end.

She advised transferring only one, and that is what we wanted to do as well.

Dr. Elassar is excellent. She explained the IVF process to me in a way that a layman would understand it. Even when I didn’t understand certain concepts right away, she was very patient and explained things in more detail. She was blunt but not uncaring. She told me facts in a straight-forward manner but always showed great compassion towards me and understood that I was going through something that was very difficult.

Just go see her. She will run a thorough diagnostic exam and tell you what may be the problem. Then she will give you options as to how to move forward, including an assessment of all the risks it may involve. It is up to you to choose which option to take or none at all.

I had two previous miscarriages. My first was spontaneous so they weren’t able to determine the cause. For my second, the baby had stopped growing so I had to go through and D&C procedure. After testing, they found that my baby had trisomy 16. I went to see Dr. Elassar after that and she diagnosed me with recurrent pregnancy loss. She suspected that I may conceive babies with monosomy or trisomy or mosaicism. Moreover, she found that my husband and I are carriers of the same genetic defect (hearing loss) and explained that there is a 25% chance that our babies will be affected with it. So she suggested that I undergo IVF (with PGT-A and PGT-M) to be able to determine which embryos are good or not. Unfortunately, my results were not very good as only one out of my eleven embryos turned out to be a good candidate for transfer. Three have arrested, and the rest were aneuploids or high-level mosaics or affected with hearing loss. Of course, it was not within Dr. Elassar’s control. It is just really unfortunate.

My insurance only had a maximum lifetime benefit of $5,000 including medications so the clinic gave me a discounted patient responsibility. For the IVF treatments (oocyte retrieval, identification, ultrasound guidance, sperm isolation and preparation, oocyte insemination, assisted fertilization, culture, extended culture, and assisted embryo hatching, they only charged me $5,000 on the condition that my insurance pays them the maximum $5,000 coverage. The cryopreservation of embryos is $1,500, thawing is $500, re-freezing is $1,500, FET is $1,500, additional FETs is $3,500, PGT is $3,000 for 5 embryos and $225 for every additional embryo, and storage is $100 per month. Of course, I had to pay for all of my medications out-of-pocket since my insurance didn’t cover them.

Before we even started the IVF treatment, my doctor told me that it was best to only do a single embryo transfer rather than a multiple one. She said that while the idea of having twins or multiples seems alluring, it is actually more taxing on both the mom’s body and the babies. Also, it can lead to other complications that may not arise if there was only a single embryo. And should such complications arise during pregnancy, it would be harder to treat it if there were more babies to take into consideration.

Dr Elassar is very honest, caring and thoughtful. She will not only present information and a course of treatment, but will explain it, as well. I know the odds, I knew what to expect and, in the end, all went according to plan and expectations. I couldn’t be happier with my choice!

For my IUIs and IVF, it was a very typical protocol. For my IVF, estrogen and progesterone supplements, progesterone in oil shot, antibiotic before the frozen embryo transfer (FET).

I’d paid an additional amount for genetic testing, IUI vial wading, and embryo testing. Overall, it’ll all depend on insurance. I have one that helps a lot.

Dr. Elassar is a wonderful doctor and caregiver and most importantly, a partner with patients in their fertility journey. She is smart, personable and a true professional. We started together in 2019 with a successful egg retrieval and now in 2023, my successful implantation cycle. During my health challenges, the full team was responsive and encouraging; this process requires a lot of support which they certainly provide. I did my research on several doctors in NYC and I knew that I wanted to have a safe, warm and welcoming place to come to for all of my visits and appointments. I absolutely made an excellent decision. I couldn’t have asked for a better experience with the practice.

Meet with her and tell her your story. She is very thorough in her approach so be ready to be open.

Because I was a breast cancer survivor, we had to be careful with my estrogen which we did and she adjusted my dosages accordingly. She also did specific tests to check my lining pathology and readiness which helped us nail down the timing.

I paid an all inclusive fee for each transfer cycle plus a per visit.

We decided to do one at a time, it made sense for me since I had only 4 embryos and my husband and I didn’t want multiples.

Dr. Elassar is extremely knowledgeable and has the right balance of compassion and directness. Throughout the multiple treatments and retrievals, she was always honest, answered all questions, and was direct and kind.

The team often provided helpful information in writing, but because it can be an overwhelming process, it may be helpful to write down questions in advance so as not to forget during the visit. Also, don’t be afraid or hesitate to ask any questions.

They were upfront with the total cost of each IVF cycle and retrieval, and kept me updated as to the amount I’d be responsible for depending on how much I as covered by my insurance. There were no surprise costs/fees. Additionally, PGT-M testing was not covered by insurance and the team provided me with several companies based on pricing options.

After discussion and consideration of risks vs benefits, we proceeded with a single embryo transfer.

By the time I came to Dr. Elassar, I was pretty defeated. I had had two ICIs and two IUIs with no success and I was quickly running out of vials which is a whole other layer of stress. We had an initial consult over zoom cause I live in the Hudson Valley and I explained what was happening. She looked over my labs and said "ok! no need to waste time, lets try!" which was so refreshing since I'm usually met with low energy responses from doctors. She felt like my best advocate and always asked how I was doing, how my son and wife were doing, all things that really matter in the long run.

Trust your instincts. I liked Dr. Elassar right away so that's why I went with her. It can be a long journey so you want to pick someone you really connect with. For me that was Dr. Elassar.

Initially we tried two rounds of IUI with a trigger shot, which didn't work. The trigger shot itself was a fixed amount and I had no negative reactions. When we decided to do IVF, I was incredibly intimidated by the amount of drugs going into my system but their nurses explained (and re-explained in each visit), how to administer and what it's doing. I used Progesterone injections for IVF (1.5) and Estrace 2x a day for IVF. The progesterone suppositories made me hyper emotional, so they suggested I keep doing the shots, which have a much milder effect on me. Both of these drugs were used to both prepare my body before transfer and keep a baby post transfer.

I believe the costs of the IUI were 2k and the IVF was all in around 25k. Each visit was $375. Unfortunately because we had upstate insurance, none of these costs were covered.

I think a lot of women who go through IVF want twins because it's so intense, but the way Dr. Elassar explained it to me made perfect sense. Having twins can be immensely hard on the body. Even though twins would be fun, It was helpful to remember that my body and my health was ultimately the most important.

Dr.Elassar is an incredible doctor and I had a very positive experience as her patient. She is very thorough and intelligent and I trust all her decisions. She is realistic and straightforward yet compassionate. I felt very comfortable under her care. I would highly recommend Dr.Elassar based on my experience.

Regardless of which doctor or clinic you choose, IVF can be a very emotional experience. However, you will be in good hands with Dr.Elassar and I highly recommend going to her if you are looking for individualized high-quality care.

I had two egg retrievals. The first retrieval did not result in any genetically normal embryos. My second retrieval was successful.

I only transferred single embryos so I cannot comment on Dr.Elassar's approach to multiple embryo transfers.

I was having trouble conceiving for > 12 months. After a number of tests, IVF was was the recommended treatment. I went through the egg retrieval with 6 eggs retrieved. All 6 continued to Day 5 blast phase and from there i had 1 embryo transferred which was a success. I am now almost at the end of my first trimester! Im so thrilled

I had insurance through work, however this clinic was out of network. Saying that Alejandra (dedicated resource to all things insurance) assisted in every way possible to alleviate financial stresses). She was very patient educating me on the different costs. In total cost was ~$17,000

Dr. Alyaa Elassar was absolutely incredible and very professional. I was referred to her by my OBGYN and she took a lot of time and care to help me get pregnant. Set up a meeting and meet her. Dr. Elassar is truly talented and I think this is really evident in the initial meeting. She is realistic/frank with you regarding treatment outcomes/expectations, but also extremely knowledgeable and optimistic - presenting options for consideration. She will ultimately present the options and talk you through the pros/cons but she will leave the final decision to you and support you either way.

We started immediately with IVF. I started on a menopur and Follistim, then Ganirelix later in the cycle. Dr. Elassar also prepped my body with birth controls/and or estradiol before starting the injections. The second IVF round produced the best results when I did the round back to back (following the first round).

I was very fortunate that alot of my care was covered my by insurance. But Alejandra really provided alot of support with dealing with all of that.

I only did one transfer and we tried with two embryos. Dr. Elassar spoke to me about the pros and cons and keen for me to ultimately make the decision - not influencing me either way.

We are so grateful to Dr. Elassar and the whole team at NYC IVF for helping us bring our sweet little boy into the world. I don't remember the specifics of the protocol, other than that she used Lupron as a trigger shot for me because she was somewhat concerned about OHSS.

All-in a cycle of egg retrieval, embryo freezing, PGT-a testing, and embryo transfer totaled ~$24k (including meds). Unfortunately, I wasn't able to get approved for insurance coverage. The PGT-a was $3,500 and the transfer was discounted to $1,500 as a result of doing the PGT. The meds cost approx. $4,700 for the full cycle. She always explains your options in detail and lets you be a part of the process you would like to move forward with. She not only remembers your name and your partner but also things about us individually and as a couple. She was always present on important visits and always smiled or waved on office visits that she did not need to be present for (like giving blood). I found great comfort in her skills and in her presence.
