Dr. Meyer is approachable, personable, knowledgeable, and above all, extremely efficient in helping us through with the entire IVF process. His seasoned team has been a godsend to our infertility issues, and it's been an absolute pleasure to have worked with his entire staff - from the nurses, front desk staff, all the way to the billing department... we had decided that a fresh transfer (and freezing the remaining viable embryos) would be our best option. During the course of the treatment, we were prescribed Menopur, Gonal-F, among other medications in preparation of the egg retrieval. Retrieval went very smoothly, resulting in 7 eggs retrieved, and subsequently, 3 viable embryos. One embryo was transferred, and resulted in our current pregnancy.
Amazing nursing staff [at Carolina Conceptions]. They're a pleasure to be around, exuding positive vibes, whenever we visit the clinic in person. Virtually, they're superbly responsive, concise and detailed in the direction they offer...We felt that, at Carolina Conceptions, we were taken care by the entire team - from Dr. Meyer, to the nursing team, admin staff, and billing team. Describe your experience with Carolina Conceptions.
Best decision we made to switch over from Duke Fertility over to Carolina Conceptions. We felt that, at Carolina Conceptions, we were taken care by the entire team - from Dr. Meyer, to the nursing team, admin staff, and billing team. True patient-centered care at its finest.
Describe the costs associated with your care under Bill Meyer at Carolina Conceptions.
Costs breakdown to IVF procedure (which our insurance did not cover for), and medication costs (which our insurance did cover for). Clinic has been extremely transparent with their pricing, which gave us further confidence to proceed with Carolina Conceptions.
Describe Bill Meyer's approach to eSET (elective single embryo transfer) vs. multiple embryo transfer at Carolina Conceptions.
Dr. Meyer recommended single embryo transfer in order to minimize risk for multiple pregnancy, considering our age (33), and our desire to only have one child.

I felt like a human because Dr. Meyer listened to me, explained the best treatment & why. He asked for my opinion & provided education on why he chose a certain treatment...He doesn’t beat around the bush. He is direct & honest. He explains well & will determine a good plan, but he isn’t going to give you false hope..
[the Carolina Conceptions staff is] Helpful, professional, kind, informative. They do great education on their medications & how to administer them. I’m not a fan of their new portal system. I’ve had an issue with communication waiting on responses to my messages...My last cycle the doctor forgot to send my prescriptions in to the pharmacy & I had issues getting a response from the triage nurse.

How was your experience with Bill Meyer at Carolina Conceptions?
Dr. Meyer was a pleasure to work with throughout our treatment! He was always very thorough with explanation of the treatment plan and happily answered any questions we had. Our discussions never felt rushed and any follow up questions I had forgotten were quickly answered when I emailed him after the fact. A lot of our communications had to be done virtually due to Covid restrictions and even with this, our care still felt personalized and he took his time to make sure everything was explained completely. We always knew what the next steps would be for us as we moved through different treatment options. We started with letrozole while completing all our fertility testing. Our diagnosis was unexplained infertility and we decided after one round of failed IUI to move forward with IVF using donor eggs. We were lucky enough to be successful with our first embryo transfer under Dr. Meyer's care!
What's one piece of advice would you give a prospective patient of Bill Meyer at Carolina Conceptions?
Don't be afraid to reach out and ask him any questions! He will quickly get back to you with an answer which was always so reassuring during the process.
During treatment, were you treated like a number or a human with Bill Meyer at Carolina Conceptions?
I definitely felt we were treated as humans and not just another number at Carolina Conceptions. Dr. Meyer and the entire staff were great and our treatment and care felt very personalized. Communication was fantastic and Dr. Meyer was always quick to get back to us answer any questions we had!
Describe the protocols Bill Meyer used in your cycles at Carolina Conceptions and their degree of success.
We had already tried a few cycles using letrozole while working with my OB/gyn. With Dr. Meyer we tried tamoxifen while getting things in order and completing the required classes. We then tried tamoxifen with menopur for our IUI cycle which unfortunately did not work. We elected to move forward with IVF using donor eggs. We utilized Carolina Conceptions egg donor database as part of their donor egg IVF refund program. This program was great for us. They coordinated everything having the donor doing a stimulated cycle in preparation for retrieval while also using birth control followed by estrogen and then estrogen with progesterone injections to sync my body in preparation for the transfer. All the labs and ultrasound monitoring was done in house at Carolina Conceptions as well making everything as easy as possible while going through the process. Everything went very smoothly and we were lucky enough to be successful with our first embryo transfer!
Describe your experience with your nurse at Carolina Conceptions. (Assigned nurse: Karen)
Karen was the egg donor coordinator we worked with. She was amazing and so supportive through everything!! Fantastic communication, very compassionate and immensely helpful through the process and I don't think I would have made it through without her holding my hand through the whole process! The nursing staff were all also very friendly, knowledgeable and supportive throughout the whole thing!
Describe your experience with Carolina Conceptions.
We used the Raleigh location which for us was very convenient to get to. We were under Dr. Meyer's care but based on scheduling did see both Dr. Bowling and Dr. Parks for some of the appointments and everyone was great to work with! The monitoring appointments were easy to schedule for early morning and they were always on time which helped minimize the stress of having to get to work after. The staff was always knowledgeable and friendly making a stressful process less stressful!
Describe the costs associated with your care under Bill Meyer at Carolina Conceptions.
I do not remember the exact costs for our medicated and IUI cycles. For our IVF we elected to utilize their donor egg refund plan which was a fixed cost for the donor cycle and up to 4 transfers with a substantial refund if not successful. This plan did not include the costs of medications. They will happily provide information on this program with a breakdown of costs if this is something you are interested in.
Describe Bill Meyer's approach to eSET (elective single embryo transfer) vs. multiple embryo transfer at Carolina Conceptions.
We decided to move forward with using donor eggs so only a single embryo was transferred

Dr. Meyer's bedside manner is one of the best I've ever come across. His care is very personalized...Previous RE's had suggested I use donor eggs and I'm currently pregnant with my own eggs...Long lupron method - He used menopur only for the stimulation phase because it could lead to better egg quality. I also used HGH for 7 weeks prior to starting STIMS. Had my best round under his care...

How was your experience with Bill Meyer at Carolina Conceptions?
I cannot think of any negative aspects of the care Dr. Meyer provided. He's one of the best in the nation. He's this gem I came across in my move to Raleigh. He was the 3rd RE I saw in my journey and by far the best. He would send me medical journals talking about my condition to alleviate some of the concerns I would bring up. I've never come across a physician who had his communication skills. I know he was easily accessible and in a journey like this it is extremely valuable. I had many setbacks due to my own body chemistry and he was on the ball every step of the way. Previous RE's had suggested I use donor eggs and I'm currently pregnant with my own eggs.

I didn't want to wait until I knew the result before posting this review. Turned out, I do know. I'm trying not to shade my response based on my result but I will say I thought this was the best clinic even before. If you're fortunate enough to live close enough or have access to this clinic, I would recommend it 100%. The doctor's and the staff are the best in the nation.
Describe the costs associated with your care under Bill Meyer at Carolina Conceptions.
Fortunately, insurance covered most. Out of pocket, I probably paid about $11k including medication.
Describe Bill Meyer's approach to eSET (elective single embryo transfer) vs. multiple embryo transfer at Carolina Conceptions.
I had two PGT tested embryo's and he was open to transferring both; however, we both knew it was best to transfer one at a time. If I had a fresh transfer, he was open to transferring 3 at a time due to my age (41).

Dr. Meyer was extremely informative and helpful and caring. He answered all our questions honestly but delicately. We weren't just another number for him, but he was genuinely interested in trying for us to be successful...We did a menopur & cetrotide only cycle since I have PCOS. I was also taking ovasitol and theratonin for 3 months prior and during to help egg quality. We got 20 eggs, but only 2 made it to blastocyst. They were 6AB grades but only 1 was PGS normal. It took in a frozen embryo transfer but later miscarried.
If you want to feel like a human and not a number or statistic, than this [Carolina Conceptions] is a great clinic. The front desk staff learned who you were very quickly even though there weren't many appointments. They do not monitor as closely as my other clinic which was nerve-wracking but it worked out in the end. I was used to daily monitoring and this was only every few days. Dr. Meyer and Dr. Park are fantastic. I don't have experience with the other doctors. They're phone system is very frustrating at times but you get used to it eventually.

We did a menopur & cetrotide only cycle since I have PCOS. I was also taking ovasitol and theratonin for 3 months prior and during to help egg quality. We got 20 eggs, but only 2 made it to blastocyst. They were 6AB grades but only 1 was PGS normal. It took in a frozen embryo transfer but later miscarried.
Describe your experience with the nursing staff at Carolina Conceptions.
They were always so nice. They were compassionate and caring. I am an extremely hard stick and they never got frustrated or annoyed by my hidden veins, or my questions.
Describe your experience with Carolina Conceptions.
If you want to feel like a human and not a number or statistic, than this is a great clinic.
Describe the costs associated with your care under Bill Meyer at Carolina Conceptions.
Including egg retrieval, PGS, FET, medicines and acupuncture, I would estimate 16k-17k
Describe Bill Meyer's approach to eSET (elective single embryo transfer) vs. multiple embryo transfer at Carolina Conceptions.
N/A. We only had one to transfer but given my age and embryo grading I think the clinic generally follows eSET.

Dr. Meyer is very honest and straightforward he doesn't hold anything back from you and will tell you what options are best for you. He won't put you through procedures that he thinks will not succeed...I had the fresh transfer and unfortunately it resulted in a negative pregnancy test. Dr. Meyer then started me back on the needed treatments to prepare for a frozen transfer which was a success...was against doing a multiple embryo transfer and I fully supported that decision. He explained the pros and cons of doing that and he advised against it in the end. I was pleased with that approach.
I found the treatment cost [at Carolina Conceptions] to be reasonable. My insurance did cover a large percent of the costs but for the care i was receiving I found the amount to be very reasonable. And the billing department was always friendly and let me know when I had credits on my account that could be used...They schedule appointments in a timely manner and the office staff is always very friendly. I never had to wait more than 10 minutes to be taken back for my appointments and the lobby area was always neat and clean. They are very easy to work with and made getting records a very simple process.
How was your experience with Bill Meyer at Carolina Conceptions?
Dr. Meyer is great he truly cares for his patients and wants their treatment to be successful. He explained every step of the process as we went along the way and answered all of my questions. He followed up when needed and always responded to my communication. He went over all risks involved with the treatment and made sure I was comfortable proceeding with treatment.

We then started injections/medicine needed to prepare me for the fresh embryo transfer. I had the fresh transfer and unfortunately it resulted in a negative pregnancy test. Dr. Meyer then started me back on the needed treatments to prepare for a frozen transfer which was a success.

Dr. Meyer only recommends a single transfer, however I believe you can select two...I appreciated that Dr Meyer was very direct, while being sensitive to our wishes. I mush prefer a straight-shooter with the facts, and that is exactly what I got...set my plan into action and that really is what you want from your Dr. Giving you the best course of action to give you the baby you so desire...We had male infertility issues and my egg reserve numbers were dwindling because of age, so Dr Meyer decided the best plan would be to go directly to IVF and we opted for the PGS testing to ensure a healthy embryo was transferred. I would highly recommend PGS to anyone that can afford it going through this process. We tested three embryos and only one was viable, so we are grateful that we opted for the testing. We are currently pregnant so everything that was laid out in our plan, happened accordingly.
I like the way Carolina Conceptions operates, in that they rotate through patients, so you really are getting the best of all of them. Dr. Meyer set my plan into action and that really is what you want from your Dr. Giving you the best course of action to give you the baby you so desire...Really liked the nursing staff. Everyone from the person teaching the classes, to performing the ultrasounds, to drawing blood was always very professional and kind...Our insurance covered most of our procedures and medications, but it was all clearly outlined by a financial consultant prior to any treatment being scheduled.

For our donor egg cycle, my wife underwent a FET. Dr. Meyer started with progesterone only birth control due to her history of uterine fibroids...he transfer consisted of a single PGS normal embryo from a donor egg cycle. Embryo glue was used. We were very pleased that we conceived on our first transfer...Dr. Meyer was kind and compassionate. He listened to us and answered all of our questions.
Dr. Meyer and the clinic [Carolina Conceptions] would only transfer a single embryo with a donor egg cycle...We chose a donor egg refund program which was $33,000. We also paid an additional fee of $2,800 for the PGS biopsy...their phone system can be difficult to navigate, but the staff usually get back to you in a reasonable amount of time, especially once you are an established patient and undergoing treatment. Their financial staff were great at answering questions and giving us upfront cost info, but when we would have a balance due we were not receiving bills to pay on time, which we would have gladly done. The donor egg coordinator was fantastic but initially we had to ask her to call the donors we were interested in instead of just emailing them, as they were not responding.
How was your experience with Bill Meyer at Carolina Conceptions?
We saw Dr. Meyer for a consult after having had not so great experiences with other clinics. He was very knowledgeable, professional and willing to work with us. He identified my wife's fibroids and agreed to remove them at our request so we would have a better chance of conceiving. He did the surgery and it went very well. He came out to the lobby and talked to me personally while my wife was in recovery. We decided to use donor eggs due to my wife's age and other health reasons. Dr. Meyer personally introduced us to the egg donor coordinator and financial staff. We had an appointment with Dr. Meyer to discuss the egg donor cycle before moving forward. We had a lot of questions about the medications, etc. and he advised us on those questions. He was very nice and answered all of them.We chose a donor and proceeded with the cycle. We had a follow-up appointment with Dr. Meyer in which we talked about the resulting embryos. He confirmed what the lab staff had told us and we were all in agreement on which embryo to transfer. We did PGS test and were offered to use another embryo if we wanted a girl, but since we wanted a boy we chose the best one (which so happened to be a boy). Throughout all of our treatment Dr. Meyer was always willing to answer questions via email. After my wife got pregnant she did have some bleeding at 5 weeks and he corresponded with us about that. We are 28 weeks pregnant currently and so far so good.
What's one piece of advice would you give a prospective patient of Bill Meyer at Carolina Conceptions?
Dr. Meyer is great but be warned he can talk fast and you will want to take notes.
During treatment, were you treated like a number or a human with Bill Meyer at Carolina Conceptions?
Dr. Meyer was kind and compassionate. He listened to us and answered all of our questions.
Describe the protocols Bill Meyer used in your cycles at Carolina Conceptions and their degree of success.
For our donor egg cycle, my wife underwent a FET. Dr. Meyer started with progesterone only birth control due to her history of uterine fibroids. FET consisted of 2mg Estrace by mouth 3 times a day, progesterone in oil injections (50mg/cc taking 1cc each dose) and monitoring. Estrace was given for 3 weeks before the transfer, stopping ovulation. The transfer consisted of a single PGS normal embryo from a donor egg cycle. Embryo glue was used. We were very pleased that we conceived on our first transfer.
Describe your experience with your nurse at Carolina Conceptions. (Assigned nurse: Leanne Ritter)
The nurse coordinator did an excellent job explaining the cycle and medications. My wife is really hard stick so they did have trouble a couple of times getting her blood. They were nice, however, and gave her an order for Labcorp those couple of times they were not able to get her blood.
Describe your experience with Carolina Conceptions.
Carolina Conceptions is a wonderful clinic. Like many others their phone system can be difficult to navigate, but the staff usually get back to you in a reasonable amount of time, especially once you are an established patient and undergoing treatment. Their financial staff were great at answering questions and giving us upfront cost info, but when we would have a balance due we were not receiving bills to pay on time, which we would have gladly done. Describe the costs associated with your care under Bill Meyer at Carolina Conceptions.
We chose a donor egg refund program which was $33,000. We also paid an additional fee of $2,800 for the PGS biopsy. Grand total was $35,800 plus some appointments not covered by the plan such as initial consult, follow-up doc appointments and the last ultrasound to confirm pregnancy. Meds were not included and paid directly to our pharmacy, not this clinic.
Describe Bill Meyer's approach to eSET (elective single embryo transfer) vs. multiple embryo transfer at Carolina Conceptions.

He [Dr. Bill Meyer] was so personable. Would answer email at any time of day or night within minutes. He made us feel comfortable with jokes and conversations about his family or personal life. He always knew the status of my cycle and patient history leading up to treatment. We never had to wait as he was always prompt for appointments. He and my husband had a wonderful relationship from the get go...was a very vivid and lively person. He would quote many recent studies pertaining to my treatment plan. We loved how personable he was and optimistic yet we never felt false hopes or exaggerations from him. He has to be the smartest man we know. He was confident with his plan of care and decision making but also allowed our input or suggestions. He spent time researching and diagnosing my uterine anomaly then was able to intervene surgically. He spent time explaining all avenues and was not pushy. Always happy and positive. Never late always punctual.
Nurses [at Carolina Conceptions] were always helpful and never seemed bothered with my questions or concerns. They were timely and respectful to me and our journey. Very punctual with emails or call backs. I never felt they were rushing me or our time. They were very knowledgeable and forth coming with information within their nursing scope...For full IVF cycle $15,000...Very organized and timely. Never had to guess about treatment steps, timelines, or plan of care. The staff was always polite and caring, as well as sensitive to our privacy. The office was well organized and ran very smoothly.

Describe the protocols Bill Meyer used in your cycles at Carolina Conceptions and their degree of success.
Because of my age, I knew i was limited on procedure. So we went with the Donor egg program and of course picked a donor, started the necessary hormone injections for the embryo transfer such as progesterone. They walked me through and updated status of donor retrieval, and how many embryos etc. Of course prior to all this had fibroid removed
Describe your experience with the nursing staff at Carolina Conceptions.
They all were wonderful. Always very professional and friendly

Describe Bill Meyer's approach to eSET (elective single embryo transfer) vs. multiple embryo transfer at Carolina Conceptions.
Dr Meyer explained to me only one embryo transfer will be done as I am a high risk already due to age and high blood pressure and didnt want to chance having multiple babies and make the risk even higher for me but for the babies too. It made complete sense to me when explained this way.

Dr. Meyer was knowledgeable and blunt, which is why I asked for him to be our doctor. I saw just about every doctor at the clinic and he is not the most warm and fuzzy person there, but I completely trusted his medical advice and I would choose him again in a heartbeat. Great communicator - responded to emails in minutes...exactly what I expected after reading reviews...
Strengths [at Carolina Conceptions] are location and patient volume - I felt like I was in good hands because they were so experienced. The only weakness I can think of is the fact they close at 4pm - one day I missed an important call while at work and couldn’t get our results until the next day......With military discount, our IVF cycle with PGT-A, medications and visits added up to be approximately $16-18K....

At one early appointment there was some confusion about whether I had already had my saline ultrasound (I had, but it had been some time prior and with a different doctor). The nurse caught it and figured it out before I even had to speak up, though.

Dr. Meyer always took time to answer my questions and explain things to me. He was always available by email - no matter the time of day, and was quick to respond. He never lost patience with all of my questions and worries!...was very direct with me (which I appreciate!) and spoke with me like I was a person, and not a number. I felt that he was very personable, understanding what I was going through and understanding where I was coming from, and took time with me. He was always available and very patient. In the end, I trusted him to do my transfer only as he was so dedicated and optimistic. He continually told me not to worry and I felt comfortable and at ease with him.
All of the nursing staff [at Carolina Conceptions] was excellent. In particular, Dr. Meyer's nurse Terry was extremely good. I trusted her and felt comfortable with her. She always took time to answer questions and ensure I understood my treatment...Extremely friendly and clean clinic. Everyone is always smiling and happy to see you. Felt at ease the entire time and always felt that everyone was working hard towards the same goal, to get your pregnant. Really appreciate all of the front office staff, financial team, nurses, and doctors.

He [Dr. Bill Meyer] took the time to congratulate on my pregnancy even though he was on vacation and the treatment plan was very detailed...I did not see Bill Meyer a lot, but I think he was out of the office due to COVID-19 restrictions because of his age. He was very nice, responsive, and was very compassionate...I did IUI with fermara (7.5mg). I had an ultrasound on CD1 and then another ultrasound CD12 after taking Femara on CD 3-7. On CD13, I administered a trigger shot on myself (Ovidrel) and then on CD14, I underwent the insemination.
The clinic [Carolina Conceptions] was full of compassionate and knowledgable people. The only weaknesses were the COVID-19 restrictions, but that was not their fault. The costs of the ultrasounds were billed through my insurance which was just a specialist visit around 60 dollars. The IUI was 500 dollars. Blood work was not billed and medication costs were 180 for trigger shot and around 5-10 dollars for Femara meds.

He [Dr. Meyer] is extremely knowledgeable. He wanted to try less costly treatment first before moving on to anything else. He communicated quickly back and forth in emails. He was blunt and got right to the point. I did not feel that I was just a number and a source of income for him.... I am diagnosed PCOS with a history of no response to oral medications First 3 rounds: Femara 7.5 mg and Tamoxifen 60 mg. Thought the Tamoxifen would increase the chance of ovulation.
They [Carolina Conceptions] do not take cash. Everyone was very friendly from the time of setting up the appointments until check out. Not a negative thing to say about this clinic. It is in a very convenient location if you live in the Raleigh area....They have mini clinics at other treatment centers for initial consultations to make things easier for people who do come from awhile away.

What's one piece of advice would you give a prospective patient of Bill Meyer at Carolina Conceptions?
Be prepared for all avenues and to keep an open mind about treatment options
During treatment, were you treated like a number or a human with Bill Meyer at Carolina Conceptions?
We spoke in his office, not a regular exam room. He asked me about my personal life, work, how far of a dive it was to get to the office. He wanted to get to know me as a person first before discussing anything fertility related.

I am diagnosed PCOS with a history of no response to oral medications First 3 rounds: Femara 7.5 mg and Tamoxifen 60 mg. Thought the Tamoxifen would increase the chance of ovulation. 3 cycles with no confirmed ovulation noted from blood work 4th round. Gonal F 75 IU every day at 8 pm. Ultrasound every three days. Did 10 days of Gonal F and had no follicle growth on any scans. Produced more follicles but none got larger than 11 mm. Cycle was cancelled. Was told IVF would be the best bet since I would need to hyper stimulate.
Describe your experience with the nursing staff at Carolina Conceptions.
Extremely compassionate. When I would cry in the office everyone was so comforting.

They do not take cash. Everyone was very friendly from the time of setting up the appointments until check out. Not a negative thing to say about this clinic. They have mini clinics at other treatment centers for initial consultations to make things easier for people who do come from awhile away.
Describe the costs associated with your care under Bill Meyer at Carolina Conceptions.
Each ultrasound appointment was $200. Initial consult was $150 Femara and Tamoxifen was covered under insurance. Injections were $1,000+ Gas to and from appointments $500+ Days off of work since it is the closest fertility clinic to me.

We had a wonderful relationship with Dr. Meyer. He always remembered the details of our work or recent travel. He would go out of his way to say hello if he saw you waiting for a routine ultrasound or bloodwork. He'd check in by email after procedures to see how I was feeling, etc. I couldn't say enough good things about our experience with him...I did a few rounds of Femera, 3 IUI rounds, one egg retrieval, and two frozen transfers. He also performed two surgeries on me- one for endometriosis and cyst removal, the other for fibroid removal.
I think Carolina Conceptions is great for a number of reasons- they are convenient, extremely efficient (I was always in and out in a timely manner), very easy to schedule with...staffed by compassionate people. It was genuinely a bittersweet moment to move on from the clinic to a regular OBGYN, as I felt that everyone was invested in their patients...Overall, the nurses were great at the clinic. I had a few instances where communication was muddled, but this only happened about 3x during 2 years. Little things like the incorrect prescription being called in to the fertility pharmacy, etc. These issues were quickly addressed and corrected.
How was your experience with Bill Meyer at Carolina Conceptions?
I was under Dr. Meyer's care for 2 years. I did a few rounds of Femera, 3 IUI rounds, one egg retrieval, and two frozen transfers. He also performed two surgeries on me- one for endometriosis and cyst removal, the other for fibroid removal. Dr. Meyer is a wonderful doctor. He's going to give you the information straight, but delivered with compassion. He's the most communicative doctor that I've ever heard of in any sort of medical practice. I must have emailed him directly over 50x over the last two years at all hours of the day, and always received a response within a few hours. He truly cares about his patients and their outcomes and will take the time to explain any diagnosis or treatment multiple times, if needed. Carolina Conceptions has a lot of patients to keep track of. Sometimes, I'd have to remind Dr. Meyer about small things pertaining to my past treatments, but he can't be expected to retain that information for every single one of his patients. No matter what clinic you're dealing with, it's important that you educate yourself as much as possible and be prepared to ask questions and advocate for yourself.

Describe your experience with your monitoring appointments at Carolina Conceptions.
Unless it was an emergency, monitoring appointments always had an appointment time between the hours of 7-noon. They ran on time 95% of the time - extremely efficient.
Describe the costs associated with your care under Bill Meyer at Carolina Conceptions.
We had only $500 of fertility lifetime coverage, so everything was out of pocket.
Describe Bill Meyer's approach to eSET (elective single embryo transfer) vs. multiple embryo transfer at Carolina Conceptions.
Dr. Meyer urges his patients to only transfer one embryo - I think it's the policy of the clinic. He does this to cut down on the risks of carrying multiples for both baby and mother.

Describe the specific things that went wrong at Carolina Conceptions.
I had one instance where the incorrect dosage was called in to the fertility pharmacy, but this was taken care of quickly. There was also one instance when my nurse asked me if I had given myself a certain injection that wasn't part of my protocol, and was confused why the Dr. hadn't prescribed it. Dr. Meyer quickly stepped in and explained my protocol to the nurse and explained why I didn't need that particular medication.

I first met Dr. Meyer in Wilmington where we live for our initial consultation. We met and he talked to us first to get to know us and then explained everything in clear and precise detail of what to expect. Everything was laid out for us and made so easy for us. Anytime I had questions at random times of the day I knew I could email him and get a response in a timely manner. I never had to worry or wonder “what’s next” everything was explained to us. We did two IUI’s which failed, so I knew right away I wanted to go straight to IVF, so I met Dr. Meyer again in Wilmington to discuss IVF. Again, he laid everything out for us, explained the process in great detail and got right to it. I then went on to start my first IVF cycle, after egg retrieval, we did a 5 day fresh transfer, which was successful!
Overall from phone calls, front desk, nurses, doctors, embryologist...everybody [at Carolina Conceptions] was so professional, compassionate, quick with responses. I have nothing but wonderful things to say about the whole clinic!.... For IVF we started on birth control for about 10 days, within that 10 days I was monitored to make sure everything looked okay to proceed with the stim injections. I then was able to proceed with injections (menopur and gonul F) from there I did stim a for about 11 days, again during the stim process I was monitored to make sure everything was progressing as it should. Once instructed I started cetrotide injection and also instructed when to trigger for my egg retrevial. I went in for the egg retrevial and then started progesterone injections the next day after retrevial, then I did a 5 day fresh embryo transfer. My results was a positive pregnancy test and I am currently 12 weeks, 2 days!

I started off with Femara for 3 months [with Dr. Bill Meyer] and my body barely responded. Moved onto An injectable cycle with Gonal f, Cetrotide, Ovidrel with Assisted iui... is very straightforward with his fertility expertise. He’ll tell you how it is and does not give you The runaround. I would actually recommend him to someone that doesn’t expect too much of A fuzzy and warm bedside manner. He’s smart, to the point, and Thorough. He’s Very responsive and helpful. He’s A very busy Dr. but he definitely does take that moment to respond to your questions and concerns. I just love how he doesn’t take too long to draw up A plan for us. Even when my Body did not respond with Femara after the 3 rounds, I expressed my thoughts on wanting to be aggressive and moving on to injections. He went ahead and allowed me to start right away after Some tests were done.
I had 2 nurses throughout my time there [at Carolina Conceptions]. They were very sweet, informative, and caring. They’ll call you back if you leave them A message. And those nurses that make those calls are also great!...Cost me $5000 for my injectable medications, HSG, bloodwork, ultrasound, office visits, iui class, day of insemenation, spermwash...They are actually located in A very busy area due to them being by A hospital. Parking is always available. Early morning appointments are the best. I’d recommend going in around 7:30am.

[Dr. Meyer] always answered his emails promptly, even when I emailed him at 9pm! I always knew what was going to happen next in my treatment, what I should expect at the next visit. When I requested him to do my embryo implant, he did even though he was not scheduled to do implants that day!! He made the experience so much more manageable and he took a lot of the stress out of it...He has a sense of humor, so if you want someone who is not going to to make you laugh (and believe me you will need a laugh during this process) then he is not your guy.
I enjoyed my experience at this clinic [Carolina Conceptions]. I would advise a new patient that you don't always see the same doctor, however if you become more comfortable with one, you can request to see that person. The clinic does an excellent job of caring for their patients. They are all truly invested in help us become parents...They [nurses] we're always smiling and so kind! I enjoyed working with all of them!

When I requested him to do my embryo implant, he did even though he was not scheduled to do implants that day!! He made the experience so much more manageable and he took a lot of the stress out of it.

Describe your experience with Carolina Conceptions.
I enjoyed my experience at this clinic. I would advise a new patient that you don't always see the same doctor, however if you become more comfortable with one, you can request to see that person. The clinic does an excellent job of caring for their patients. They are all truly invested in help us become parents.

I appreciate his [Dr. Meyer] willingness to try different medications to adjust likelihood for pregnancy. Kind but honest. He really knows his stuff and wants to see his patients achieve the family they want. He has a great bedside manner and helps make a stressful time less stressful. He is willing to answer any and all questions and is accessible by email as well which is comforting when anxiety can be high.

[Dr. Bill Meyer] makes every attempt to keep the costs of treatment affordable...I appreciate Dr. Meyer's compassion and understanding in allowing us a voice in our treatment plan...is very matter of fact. He wants to treat you as a whole person. He is VERY quick to respond to emailed concerns or phone calls. He is very honest about the process, but again--he is very take no prisoners, "let's get it done"...
I love that this clinic [Carolina Conceptions] works so closely with my OBGYN's office. I love that they are so easy to communicate with...It was apparent that they [nurses] were all very busy...not just appearing busy--but actually working diligently to serve the many patients...[Dr. Bill Meyer] makes every attempt to keep the costs of treatment affordable...I appreciate Dr. Meyer's compassion and understanding in allowing us a voice in our treatment plan...is very matter of fact.
