Dr. Miller prefers to do eSET instead of multiple embryo transfer unless prior results indicate multiple embryo transfer will result in best outcome...[he] is compassionate and takes time to answer your questions. He sees his patients as humans when discussing options and frustrations, but also as a number/statistic when it comes to treatment options. I appreciated that he made adjustments to my protocol when necessary, but would have liked to pursue more diagnostic tests to explain our infertility rather than just doing trial and error with every treatment.
Morning monitoring [at RMA of Michigan] was quick despite the large volume of patients in the waiting room. I found the staff to be caring (even the med techs---loved them). I wish RMA made it easier to access your medical records. I had to fill out a form multiple times allowing them to release it to me and then it would take a week or more to receive my records..
How was your experience with Brad Miller at RMA of Michigan?
Dr. Miller is compassionate and takes time to answer your questions.
What's one piece of advice would you give a prospective patient of Brad Miller at RMA of Michigan?
Advocate for what you want. Doctors will lump you into a statistic but you may be a "unicorn" (as they once described me) and you'll need to follow your gut and get the tests you want performed in order to sleep better at night.
During treatment, were you treated like a number or a human with Brad Miller at RMA of Michigan?
The minute we sad down with Dr. Miller for our initial consultation, we were immediately presented with numbers, facts, and statistics. I know this is common of REs, but I don't appreciate this approach because I felt I got lumped into a "you're still young enough" category and so particular approaches were taken based solely on my age instead of pursuing careful diagnostic tests before making clinical decisions. On the other hand, Dr. Miller was always warm and genuinely concerned about our success and disappointed when things didn't go as planned.

275 Gonal + 2 or 3 Menopur for first IVF cycle. No follicles developed.
300 Gonal + 3 Menopur + ovidrel for trigger for IVF #2 and #3. 3 eggs on IVF#2, 17 eggs on IVF #3. No good quality embryos. Chemical pregnancies from transfers but no sustained pregnancy.
Describe your experience with your nurse at RMA of Michigan. (Assigned nurse: Jaclyn)
Jaclyn was the absolute best. She always followed up on every question I asked, every medication I needed ordered, every test I wanted to run, etc. without me ever needing to remind her. She was honest, compassionate, down-to-earth, and knowledgeable. Switching clinics was a really difficult decision for me because I wanted her to stay in charge of my care, but in the end I felt I needed to try another option.
Describe your experience with RMA of Michigan.
RMA is really on top of things. Morning monitoring was quick despite the large volume of patients in the waiting room. I found the staff to be caring (even the med techs---loved them). I wish RMA made it easier to access your medical records. I had to fill out a form multiple times allowing them to release it to me and then it would take a week or more to receive my records. I wanted to track all of my blood results to stay on top of my treatments but that wasn't easy to do since many of my results came in a phone call as I was driving home so I couldn't write everything down right away. An online system like many other health systems have would be helpful.
Describe your experience with your monitoring appointments at RMA of Michigan.
I appreciated the early morning monitoring hours at this clinic. I was able to have blood draws and ultrasounds and still make it to work on time. I found RMA to be efficient in the morning considering the high volume of patients in the waiting room.
Describe the costs associated with your care under Brad Miller at RMA of Michigan.
About $22,000

- Failed to order appropriate test
Describe the specific things that went wrong at RMA of Michigan.
I feel strongly that more tests should have been run to try to figure out why my husband and I had undiagnosed infertility. The assumption was that my eggs were poor quality so the next suggestion was to move to egg donation, but upon second opinion from another clinic, a sperm DNA fragmentation test was run with abnormally high fragmentation rates suggesting egg donation with my partner's sperm might have been another expensive, heartbreaking failure.
