Our experience with Dr. Kovac was mostly good. We had a lot of questions for him and he always seemed happy to answer them for us. He was very thorough in explaining the treatment plan and the diagnosis. After he performed a testicular biopsy, he called me at my home after a couple days to check in on me. Overall, it was a good experience.

Ask a lot of questions. Be patient as he is hard to reach at times and waiting room times can be unexpectedly long.
During treatment, were you treated like a number or a human with Jason Kovac at Urology of Indiana?
Dr. Kovac had a manner that put us at ease. He explained, in detail, the procedure he was going to perform and the diagnosis after treatment. He answered any questions we had in terms we understood. He was honest without being harsh. At times he was humorous.
Describe the protocols Jason Kovac used in your cycles at Urology of Indiana and their degree of success.
Dr. Kovac started with a semen analysis and blood work to determine testosterone levels and other hormones. After the results came back as azoospermia, he ordered a testicular biopsy to confirm the presence or absence of sperm in the testicles. The biopsy showed there were sperm present. Viable sperm was collected during the biopsy to be stored for later use.
Then, Dr. Kovac prescribed Clomid for four months to increase hormone levels and try to stimulate sperm production. Finally, another round of blood work and a sperm analysis were performed to check if the Clomid was effective.

The nursing staff was knowledgeable and open to questions. It was difficult to contact them by telephone.

Urology of Indiana has good doctors. It is extremely busy most of the time though. It's difficult to reach anyone by phone. The best time to call the office is after 4 o'clock in the afternoon. Expect to get into your appointment later than scheduled. The waiting room is usually full. That being said, the staff is knowledgeable and seem happy to answer any questions. They are also flexible with appointment times and are willing to work with patients in that regard.

Each office visit cost about $100. Blood work was about $300. The biopsy was several hundred dollars.
