She [Dr. Karenne Fru] put me on metformin, prenatal vitamins, thyroid meds, and vitamin d. Following the testing we started our fist iui cycle (we decided to take this route over time intercourse since we had been trying for over a year.) she put me on Femara and then when that didn’t work she bumped me up to a higher dosage. Once my follicles were big enough she had me do a trigger shot with ovidrel then iui. that month did not work but month 2 using the same medications I was pregnant. Between week 10 and 11 i has a miscarriage then a d&c procedure.
I absolutely love the clinic [Coastal Reproductive Endo and Infertility]. I do wish there was a second doctor that could help fill in for the times dr Fru cannot be there but honestly she’s so great I don’t mind waiting for her. The facility is very nice and clean and all the staff are wonderful... The nursing staff is very knowledgeable and helpful. If they don’t have answers right away they make sure to get them for me quickly. If i call in I always have a call back from them within a few hours. Couldn’t ask for better care.
How was your experience with Karenne Fru at Coastal Reproductive Endocrinology & Infertility?
Dr. Fru is a wonderful doctor. She provided the best possible car for me and my husband and when we lost our child via miscarriage she delivered the news with compassion and understanding of what I was going through. She gave us time to process each step and explained thoroughly all of our options without being pushy. I couldn’t ask for better care or a better doctor.
What's one piece of advice would you give a prospective patient of Karenne Fru at Coastal Reproductive Endocrinology & Infertility?
I would say to listen to her advice and use her as a guide through the process. Be knowledgeable but ask as many questions as you’d like because she’s truly there to help you and she can’t serve you best if she doesn’t know your concerns.
During treatment, were you treated like a number or a human with Karenne Fru at Coastal Reproductive Endocrinology & Infertility?
Dr. Fru takes the time to get to know her patients. She always knew my husband and me by name as well as being knowledgeable about our care. When I had a miscarriage Dr.Fru and her team were there for us as we needed them and went above and beyond for our care. I don’t think any other doctor could have been more helpful at such a heartbreaking time.
Describe the protocols Karenne Fru used in your cycles at Coastal Reproductive Endocrinology & Infertility and their degree of success.
I was diagnosed with pcos and referred to another doctor. He had my husband do a semen analysis but following that put me on Clomid. I took clomid over 3 months to no avail. My friend was seeing dr Fru and loved her so I transferred. She immediately did testing to check my Fallopian tubes and uterus as well as other testing. My husband was checked again as well. Both of us had great results although through bloodwork she determined i was in need of a few different meds. She put me on metformin, prenatal vitamins, thyroid meds, and vitamin d. A month or so of recovery then 2 more iuis using he same methods. We took a break for a few months while dr fru was on maternity leave and while my husband was deployed but resumed treatment in January 2018. Since then I have had one more iui treatment cycle. The Femara that had previously worked did not work so she put me on clomid. It was a long cycle but finally I had mature enough follicles to proceed with iui. It did not take. I am currently in another treatment cycle and taking clomid again. We plan to try iui a few more times with hope it works before switching to Ivf.

Describe the costs associated with your care under Karenne Fru at Coastal Reproductive Endocrinology & Infertility.
I don’t remember exact costs but my husband is military and we have a very modest to low income and are able to make the payments to see her for treatments. We are very lucky with good healthcare coverage the does help as well as my mom who helps us offset the costs.

She [Dr. Karenne Fru] was extremely sweet as well I was informative. She showed compassion during my miscarriages and was extremely professional but also made you feel at ease and very comfortable and like you knew her for years. You can tell she truly cares about her patients and that you are never does her number. She never seems like she is rushing off to the next appointment she is very relaxed during every appointment and willing to answer Every and any question you ever have for her
The older women at the front desk [at Coastal Reproductive Endo and Infertility] or sometimes rude and not very friendly when you had questions to ask. Sometimes I felt like I was bothering them and when you were already in a sensitive situation the last thing you need is somebody like that to deal with... The IUIs were quite expensive And I think I would have preferred to spend the money on IVF if I knew my IVF options better

You never felt rushed when speaking with her she took extra time to speak with you and was very informative as well as patient and kind. Explained herself during every course of treatment . One of the most genuine doctors I have ever met.
Describe the protocols Karenne Fru used in your cycles at Coastal Reproductive Endocrinology & Infertility and their degree of success.
Her protocol was to do to 2 IUI. When those failed to be looked into possibly checking to see if I had endometriosis however she recommended that if IVF was something we wanted to do that the cost would be well spent on IVF rather than surgery for endometrio sis. So she was very upfront about my options

I found Dr. Fru to be an incredibly positive person. We had been struggling to conceive for over a year by the time we met with her. We were told that we could do several rounds of Clomid and timed intercourse before moving on to Clomid and IUI. She told us we could switch to the next step at any point in the treatment. We did 2 rounds of Clomid, 100MG, and timed intercourse. There was a lot of monitoring involved in this cycle. Dr. Fru was always very hopeful and positive while going through this process.
We did 2 cycles of Clomid and timed intercourse [at Coastal Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility]. I was surprised at how much monitoring we had to do for these cycles. I went in for 2-3 ultrasounds each cycle and had blood work drawn each time. I know Dr. Fru was being extra careful and wanted to make sure we didn't over stimulate the ovaries, but I was still surprised because I had friends on Clomid given to them by their gynecologists that did zero monitoring. Go figure for both of them it worked and for me it didn't, despite great results on the ultrasounds.

She made us feel that we were really making moves in the right direction. However, only later when I went to a different doctor did I find out that there was only a 4% chance of success with each of these treatments. I did appreciate Dr. Fru's positivity, but I wish I had been provided with the odds of success for these treatments. I think had I known the rate of success we would have proceeded to IUI and IVF more quickly.
What's one piece of advice would you give a prospective patient of Karenne Fru at Coastal Reproductive Endocrinology & Infertility?
I would advise patients to ask for the rates of success for the treatments they are doing if that is something that they feel may help them make a decision. I wasn't presented with any of this information and I wish I had been because I would've used it to guide our treatments.

I have no bad words about Dr. Fru, she is amazing, compassionate, and funny which I find to be an important part of the process. She explains everything very well and is straight forward about you, your partner, and your treatments. I would always recommend her.... I just finished my first IUI and before she had me take femara and then come in for an ultrasound, after the ultrasound showed my follicles weren't the right size she had me take clomid additionally then come in for another ultrasound, that one showed my follicles a good size and we went on to a trigger shot then IUI
The clinic [Coastal Reproductive Endo & Infertility] is still small, Dr. Fru is the only reproductive endocrinologist so it is very busy. But Dr. Fru is very compassionate and makes sure you are not inconvenienced. It is connected to a OB Gyn office which isn't always the best. Sometimes after another failed cycle it is hard to go and see a pregnant women checking in in front of you.... Most of the nurses are great, but onenurse I have found to not be compassionate and even rude.

Dr. Fru always took her time to explain in detail what each procedure would entail. She treated us like people instead of just another copay coming through the door. When we couldn’t do our last iui due to too low sperm count she gave us different options instead of just saying she couldn’t help us. ... She took the time to explain everything thoroughly and gave us realistic odds.
Everybody is very friendly at the clinic [Coastal Reproductive Endocrinoloty & Infertility]. Everything was very clean. We were treated like people and not numbers. There were no weaknesses I noticed with the clinic. Dr. Fru is a great doctor and does not sugar coat anything, which my husband and I appreciated. ... Our iui was $300 under Dr. Fru, plus the cost of clomid which was not covered under our insurance, but was not expensive, and the cost of the trigger shot, which was around $100. We were quoted $12,000-$18,000 for IVF when we begin that in 2019

Dr. Fru had me on clomid on cycle days 5-9, then on cd 11 I went in for an ultrasound, when my eggs were the correct size I would give myself a trigger shot at 10pm and then 2 days later I went in for the iui. Unfortunately due to male factor they were not successful.

[Dr. Karenne Fru] was very understanding and also shared her personal infertility journey with me as well...encouraged me to keep going until I get my baby, when I wanted to give up. My husband had a 0% morphology. He had to stop smoking. I did 2 rounds of IUI with Letrozole. Unfortunately was unsuccessful. Planned a IVF cycle but by the grace of God the month I was to pay and start the IVF process I had a positive pregnancy test. Two years we tried to get pregnant and was unsuccessful. After 24 months of infertility, the 25 the month I had a positive pregnancy test, naturally done. Fast forward 10/1/2021 I gave birth to a healthy baby boy.

[Dr. Karenne Fru was] Very knowledgeable about the science of it all but would have rather her cared enough to be honest about my diagnosis with one tube blocked and what our chances really were instead of letting us go through with multiple IUI...Ask more questions about all treatment options and trust your gut...IUI with Cholmid-2 cycles, IUI with Femara 7 cycles. Responded well to femara with multiple eggs but should have stopped after 3 fails and tried something ifferent
Nursing staff is awesome [at Coastal Reproductive Endocrinology & Infertility]...Its a good clinic, just very busy an sometimes they have to squeeze you in an you feel rushed during your wait after a procedure...Very busy practice and growing rapidly. Don't feel like enough questions were raised or like there was enough education around other things to help with infertility like weight, exercise and diet impacts. It seemed to be more important to get me in for my next appointment to make another buck. I would have liked an honest opinion about going right to IVF at my age but now I am too old to use IVF with my own eggs. At the time of my treatment she was not performing IVF yet and there was not enough emphasis that this should have been the choice.

[Dr. Fru is] Very kind, professional , willing to work with you and goes above and beyond. But most of all she makes me feel hopeful and that is a very good feeling to have when dealing with such a sensitive and frustrating thing.... They [Coastal Reproductive Endocrinology] went out of their way from day one to help work around our busy/changing schedule and went above and beyond.... They take the time needed to get to a solution whatever the problem may be.
I think this clinics [Coastal Reproductive] willingness to go above and beyond is a huge strength. At our old clinic I felt like a number getting rushed and dealt with just to move on to the next and this clinic is nothing like that. The only weakness I can think of is location (but that’s relative) for us coming from Jacksonville it’s a little bit of a drive but well worth it I’d say!... We have had several after hour chats and they weren’t rushing us off the phone. They take the time needed to get to a solution whatever the problem may be.

At our old clinic I felt like a number getting rushed and dealt with just to move on to the next and this clinic is nothing like that. The only weakness I can think of is location (but that’s relative) for us coming from Jacksonville it’s a little bit of a drive but well worth it I’d say!

I loved Dr Fru. I felt like she really cared about me and was on a personal mission to get me pregnant! She was warm, friendly, always chatted with me in the office. She was caring and had good bedside manner when I had a miscarriage...i think she was wonderful. She was knowledgeable and took the time to explain things to me. I felt like I knew what was going on and I felt included in the processes. I think she was caring and had good bedside manner.
Smaller clinic [Coastal Fertility], flexible, easy to connect with staff as needed. Nothing negative to say, I was pleased with this clinic. I would go back and recommend others to go there! It was a good experience...[Nursing Staff] Very caring and quick to return a call...I loved Dr Fru. I felt like she really cared about me and was on a personal mission to get me pregnant! She was warm, friendly, always chatted with me in the office.

I did 6 IUIs with her. I did one cycle with clomid/ovidrel, then moved to injectable medicines (gonalF) for the last 5 cycles. She was agressive with my treatment because I had a bad experience with a doctor before her.

Success w/ Doc Too early to know
Dr. Fru initially suggested a single embryo transfer but decided otherwise after I shared my desire for twins and that I seriously doubt I’d want to go through this process again...seeks to understand my concerns and patiently deals with my many, many questions...Some doctors choose to remain detached. Dr. Fru, however, stayed with me while I cried and spoke words of faith and positivity...we’re preparing for my first (and hopefully) only cycle.
Costs are estimated to be $20,500 for one round of IVF (including genetic testing) [at Piedmont Reproductive Endocrinology Group]...Everyone from the front desk staff to the Phlebotomist went the extra mile to make me feel comfortable. Aside from Dr. Fru, my best interactions have been with Holly, in Finance. Holly takes the Counselor portion of her title to heart...The nursing staff is kind and very welcoming...I don’t feel like a number. Dr. Fru seeks to understand my concerns and patiently deals with my many, many questions.
How was your experience with Karenne Fru at Piedmont Reproductive Endocrinology Group?
I am certain that I’m not alone when I say that I never saw myself here. My entire life, I saw fertility as something that was a given, easily achieved and readily available. The women around me seemed to get pregnant without issue. I thought I could focus on career, marry, create a stable environment and then have children. But here I am, struggling to conceive and not understanding why. This painful journey brought me to Dr. Fru and I am grateful. Dr. Fru is knowledgeable, warm and personable, but that’s not why I am impressed. I was initially diagnosed with a tubal blocked by my OBGYN. In between that test and the referral process, I researched ways to unblock fallopian tubes naturally and began a very demanding regimen. Dr. Fru decided to repeat the HSG and I hoped and prayed that my efforts paid off. Unfortunately, my tubes remained blocked. I was distraught, fearful and disappointed. Some doctors choose to remain detached. Dr. Fru, however, stayed with me while I cried and spoke words of faith and positivity.
What's one piece of advice would you give a prospective patient of Karenne Fru at Piedmont Reproductive Endocrinology Group?
She talks very fast :-). Bring something to record the conversation or take notes.

Describe your experience with your nurse at Piedmont Reproductive Endocrinology Group. (Assigned nurse: Catherine Burnside )
The nursing staff is kind and very welcoming. There was a moment when a couple members of the staff recognized my husband who is in a very visible role in our community. We had an awkward and uncomfortable exchange with the staff that Dr. Fru later addressed and apologized for.
Describe your experience with Piedmont Reproductive Endocrinology Group.
I would refer PREG to anyone looking for a little help along their TTC journey. Everyone from the front desk staff to the Phlebotomist went the extra mile to make me feel comfortable. Dr. Fru went over the steps that it would take for us to get pregnant. She explain our responsibility in the process and what is her responsibility as our doctor...[she] encourage my husband to talk to his HR department to have infertility included in our insurance next enrollment. He spoke with them and they are reviewing it. So Dr. Fru is not only a doctor but a good advisor, listener and feels like a member of the family.
strengths [of PREG] were the kindness, passion, willingness team to help people with infertility issues. One weakness was the long wait time on our first visit. It took us a while to be seen even though we came in a little early to fill out paperwork. But once we were seen it went smoothly...I haven't to much contact with Heather but conversation over the phone. Heather was polite and willing to help in anyway possible
How was your experience with Karenne Fru at Piedmont Reproductive Endocrinology Group?
Dr. Fru was honest and upfront with us about different options we can choose from to conceive. She drew a diagram to help me and my husband better understand the procedures and process it would take to conceive. We were very concerned about the option because we have a 14 year old and have been trying for 4 years now and my husband insurance company doesn't pay for the procedures. Dr. Fru encourage my husband to talk to his HR department to have infertility included in our insurance next enrollment. He spoke with them and they are reviewing it. So Dr. Fru is not only a doctor but a good advisor, listener and feels like a member of the family.

The treatment I had was xrays to ensure that I am still fertile since I'll be 40 this year. My husband had a sperm sample to ensure that there was enough strong sperm to get me pregnant. Unfortunately we had to go another right and Dr. Fru advised us to start the next step which was IUI.

Describe the costs associated with your care under Karenne Fru at Piedmont Reproductive Endocrinology Group.
The cost of the procedure was very memorable because my husband insurance dont cover infertility. Office visit was $250 for me and my husband. My next doctor visit for my ultrasound and bloodwork was $350 and my husband sperm sample was $100. Since we have to go with our next option we have go through IUI, which will cost more. We also got the prices for that procedure and include all the procedures it will cost us cover $1500.
Describe Karenne Fru's approach to eSET (elective single embryo transfer) vs. multiple embryo transfer at Piedmont Reproductive Endocrinology Group.
Right now we dont have any comments because Dr. Fru explained and stresses the single embryo vs. multiple embryo transfers because my husband has twins o. his side of the family.

How was your experience with Karenne Fru at Piedmont Reproductive Endocrinology Group?
Dr. Fru was amazing throughout the process. She held my hand prior to the start of my fallopian tube removal, which was comforting considering the hospital staff in the room were "cold". She comforted me prior to the surgery and before I went under. During the doctors appointments she answered every question, she never seemed rushed and provided detailed information prior to each procedure and explained the next steps.
What's one piece of advice would you give a prospective patient of Karenne Fru at Piedmont Reproductive Endocrinology Group?
Go to her! She is amazing and is so personable. She cares about her patients and wants to see you be successful. I like that she adjusted my protocol based on my individual needs.

I don't know that my protocol has a name but I took the following drugs during egg retrieval and implantation. Gonal F Estradiol Cephalexin 500 Methyprednisolone 16mg Diazepam 5 mg Progest Eth/oleate 100mg Piroxicam 10mg
Describe your experience with your nurse at Piedmont Reproductive Endocrinology Group. (Assigned nurse: Ashley & Catherine)
Ashley (nurse) and Catherine (IVF coordinator) are AMAZING. it brings tears to my eyes just thinking about them. They are wonderful. Catherine answered every question (via email), returned every call and was just there for me every step of the way. Even before I was officially a client. Ashley was the sweetest nurse ever. Every ultrasound, every procedure, she was there to make sure I was ok. She even asked to be the nurse for my transfer. I know her presence and Catherine's care and response made a difference in my mental state. These women are doing the LORD's work and it made a difference. You can tell that they are passionate about their jobs.
Describe your experience with Piedmont Reproductive Endocrinology Group.
The client is very strong when it comes to communication. From the very first encounter (with Brittany, front desk manager) to the end, they are amazing. The only weakness is that sometimes they run 5-10 minutes behind but that's not long to me for a doctors office. Plus when you are late, they don't penalize you or make you feel bad for being late.
Describe the costs associated with your care under Karenne Fru at Piedmont Reproductive Endocrinology Group.
The cost was $15,000.

How was your experience with Karenne Fru at Piedmont Reproductive Endocrinology Group?
Dr. Fru is wonderful. I really hope to conceive a child and to be able to send the clinic a photo with a heartfelt thank you. Dr. Fru is kind, compassionate, and funny. She makes her patients feel welcome and she was always willing to answer the many questions I asked with a kind smile and patience. She is great.
What's one piece of advice would you give a prospective patient of Karenne Fru at Piedmont Reproductive Endocrinology Group?
Don’t give up, and ask as many questions as you’d like. She will answer them willingly and will never make you feel inadequate for asking.
During treatment, were you treated like a number or a human with Karenne Fru at Piedmont Reproductive Endocrinology Group?
Dr. Fru is wonderful. I feel like she knows me as a person and wants to see my spouse and I welcome a child into this world. Things haven’t worked out (yet) but Dr. Fru is confident that they will, and that gives me hope. She is also kind and open-minded. As someone in a same-sex marriage, it is important to feel safe and as welcome as any other couple. Dr. Fru does that, and she is appreciated for it.
Describe the protocols Karenne Fru used in your cycles at Piedmont Reproductive Endocrinology Group and their degree of success.
My treatment plan includes letrozole and IUI. I under-responded with my first round of letrozole and my dosage was increased. When I came back after having my dose increased, I’d already ovulated. When I came in for my scan following my next round of letrozole, I’d already ovulated according to the scan, but an IUI was completed. It was unsuccessful. For my next round of the drug, I had yet to ovulate and I had a follow up appointment with Dr. Fru to discuss a different medication. We used clomid for that cycle, and I ovulated prior to my follicle scan on day 10. We are about to start another round of clomid, but I will be coming in for my scan on day 8. I am hopeful that we will get the timing right for this IUI and that I will become pregnant by the end of this month.
Describe your experience with the nursing staff at Piedmont Reproductive Endocrinology Group.
The nurses are great but they do seem to have different viewpoints on situations, ie when to inseminate versus when to wait. Some of them make me feel as though I ask too many questions, but some are really great. Everyone is very nice and helpful, but one nurse in particular,Ashleigh, who is not Dr. Fru’s nurse, seems to have the best bedside manner and most compassion.
Describe your experience with Piedmont Reproductive Endocrinology Group.
The front desk staff often seems bothered by having to answer the phone and they don’t seem to know a lot. Many times I called only to be transferred somewhere to ultimately leave a message and wait for a call back. Additionally, I once witnessed what I felt like was a very inappropriate exchange where someone had called multiple times asking for a specific nurse and the persons answering the phones were very annoyed by it and said as much while I was standing there. I know everyone is human and that it probably was annoying to them, but it was unprofessional to speak ill of a patient in front of another patient. It didn’t sit well with me because I have probably been that caller at one point.
Describe the costs associated with your care under Karenne Fru at Piedmont Reproductive Endocrinology Group.
It’s been pretty expensive. To date, not including the cost of donor sperm, we’ve spent about $2000 and according to the clinic, I have “good insurance”.

I felt human because Dr. Fru is very kind, her mannerisms are consistent and she was very candid and honest...She sets out an aggressive and fast moving treatment plan which I appreciate in my “advanced age.” She is knowledgeable and knows how to treat my very unique case of infertility...[eSET approach] We decided on one embryo versus multiple due to my age (44)
All of the nursing and assisting staff[of PREG] are very caring, friendly and compassionate and take the time with you to go over the protocol and next steps...My insurance is covering some of the cost of my treatment and medications although we’ve had to come out of pocket about $5k so far and still anticipating additional medication costs...

Dr. Fru is incredibly compassionate and is very open and honest. She sets out an aggressive and fast moving treatment plan which I appreciate in my “advanced age.” She is knowledgeable and knows how to treat my very unique case of infertility. I appreciate her and trust her opinions.
What's one piece of advice would you give a prospective patient of Karenne Fru at Piedmont Reproductive Endocrinology Group?
Get ready to laugh and feel comfortable. She will do her best to make you feel relaxed and helps you understand the options on treatments. She is warm and always helpful.
During treatment, were you treated like a number or a human with Karenne Fru at Piedmont Reproductive Endocrinology Group?
I felt human because Dr. Fru is very kind, her mannerisms are consistent and she was very candid and honest regarding what she felt was best for my case. We had very open and honest conversations and she was always kind and light hearted which helped an already stressful situation. She also performed my surgery to remove uterine fibroids which changed my life dramatically. I am so thankful to her for a solid treatment plan and hopes for a successful egg retrieval and implantation. It’s been mostly a waiting game, but she and her staff have been kind and supportive and answer all my questions and put my mind to ease.
Describe the protocols Karenne Fru used in your cycles at Piedmont Reproductive Endocrinology Group and their degree of success.
I am at the beginning of my stimulation cycle and I have started off with 375 units of Gonal-F and 25 units of low dose HCG. I am on my fifth day of taking these treatment shots. Her staff informed me today to continue with the dosage schedule above and then on 4/16/20 Bumping up to 400 units Gonal-F and 30 units HCG that day until my next visit on 4/17/2020. So far my follicles only my right side look better than my left side.
Describe your experience with your nurse at Piedmont Reproductive Endocrinology Group. (Assigned nurse: Catherine Burnside)
All of the nursing and assisting staff are very caring, friendly and compassionate and take the time with you to go over the protocol and next steps. They all treat me with genuine care and concern.
Describe your experience with Piedmont Reproductive Endocrinology Group.
I had a negative with a physician at this practice about three years ago but gave this clinic a second chance as it is the only one local to where I live. I am thankful I did because I’m grateful and blessed to have been matched up with Dr. Karenne Fru as she is amazing and extremely knowledgeable. She treats my husband and me with the utmost kindness and support. She’s professional and follows all safety and sanitation protocol. I am Optimistic she will get me the result we are seeking.
Describe the costs associated with your care under Karenne Fru at Piedmont Reproductive Endocrinology Group.
My insurance is covering some of the cost of my treatment and medications although we’ve had to come out of pocket about $5k so far and still anticipating additional medication costs. My husband and I are currently furloughed due to COVID-19, which I am very concerned this could possibly have an impact on the state of our treatment, which is unnerving considering not only we’ve waited almost 20 years to be able to somewhat afford this treatment, but to get this far and possibly fail is what’s the most unnerving to me, all in the name of finances. We are doing the best we can and beating the costs. This is obviously a very costly treatment
Describe Karenne Fru's approach to eSET (elective single embryo transfer) vs. multiple embryo transfer at Piedmont Reproductive Endocrinology Group.
We decided on one embryo versus multiple due to my age (44)

Dr. Fru understood immediately how I like details and has been very forthcoming with all information. She never makes me feel dumb if I am confused, but instead, explains and has even drawn diagrams. She is very respectful and personable, which is soooo helpful in making me feel comfortable throughout this process...She is great about carrying conversation and understanding when things may be uncomfortable. Instead of simply doing her job, she accommodates and talks through each step to make me, as the patient, more comfortable and less awkward.
They [Piedmont Reproductive Endocrinology Group] do not waste your time and get everything done quickly so that awkward tests are not dragged out to prolong the experience. At the same time, they do not rush you out. They make sure you are aware of everything that is and will be going on. They are also extremely flexible with scheduling...a financial counselor met with us the very first visit and is reachable whenever needed...

Describe the protocols Karenne Fru used in your cycles at Piedmont Reproductive Endocrinology Group and their degree of success.
I have only been through the consult and testing so far. Dr. Fru did all types of FSH, HSG, Prolactin, etc. tests to see where my levels are in my body and to see if there is anything that she may need to be prepared for or adjust in my fertility treatment. All my results are in normal range and I am set to move on to IUI when my partner and I purchase donor sperm.
Describe your experience with your nurse at Piedmont Reproductive Endocrinology Group. (Assigned nurse: Ashley Vining)
Ashley is amazing! She is so personable and is very thorough is explaining each step for me. She is great at communication and has personally called me with results to put my mind at ease.
Describe your experience with Piedmont Reproductive Endocrinology Group.
The clinic is very open and very inviting. Each person I have encountered working there is very friendly and open to explaining any and everything that you may have questions about. No question is too strange or "dumb". Each person is there to make you feel comfortable and wants you to help you have a family. I couldn't be happier with each experience I have had at this clinic. They are also very efficient. Sometimes, I feel time is wasted just sitting and waiting at doctor's offices, but that is not the case at PREG. They do not waste your time and get everything done quickly so that awkward tests are not dragged out to prolong the experience. At the same time, they do not rush you out. They make sure you are aware of everything that is and will be going on. They are also extremely flexible with scheduling. My wife is a police officer, so they help me to always put my appointments for when she can also be there with me.
Describe the costs associated with your care under Karenne Fru at Piedmont Reproductive Endocrinology Group.
The costs have only been for each test so far. However, a financial counselor met with us the very first visit and is reachable whenever needed.

She [Dr.Karenne Fru] never rushed us like she had someone else to get in and take care of... she laid everything out for us and came up with a plan right away...During my time with her we did Clomid and times intercourse which were not successful. So we moved to an injection and Clomid which were also not successful because I am resistant to oral medication...right now we are still seeking treatment from her
She [nurse of PREG] talked and walked me through it all so I would not be nervous & it meant so much to me...I spent around $2,000 in the time...One day I had an emergency come up and needed to change my appointment around for an earlier time that day and they were able to fix it for me...[Dr. Fru] remembers things we talked about in previous appointments and never made us feel uncomfortable
How was your experience with Karenne Fru at Piedmont Reproductive Endocrinology Group?
When I came to PREG I had no idea what to expect. Dr Fru laid everything out for us and came up with a plan right away. I can not say enough about her and her optimistic personality. She has really been a ray of sunshine in some of our hardest times. She is definitely in the right profession. She not only connects with you as a patient but on a personal level too. She remembers things we talked about in previous appointments and never made us feel uncomfortable. While right now we are still seeking treatment from her and our plan hasn't worked out exactly the way we've planned she has given us hope that we will get through this and we will have a baby. I can not say enough about her and I would definitely recommend her to family members and friends going through the same situations.
What's one piece of advice would you give a prospective patient of Karenne Fru at Piedmont Reproductive Endocrinology Group?
When you go in not knowing what to expect and skeptical trust and know that she has your best interest at heart.
During treatment, were you treated like a number or a human with Karenne Fru at Piedmont Reproductive Endocrinology Group?

How was your experience with Karenne Fru at Piedmont Reproductive Endocrinology Group?
As a man, I felt incredibly awkward in this process. We men somehow grow up learning almost nothing about cycles and how pregnancy really happens. Dr. Fru made me super comfortable and I felt like I could ask her anything I needed.
What's one piece of advice would you give a prospective patient of Karenne Fru at Piedmont Reproductive Endocrinology Group?
I don’t think you need advice, other than don’t be intimidated by it. Just go and do it. Get the process started.

Describe your experience with the nursing staff at Piedmont Reproductive Endocrinology Group.
I interacted very little with the nurses and much less than my wife. The majority of my interaction was when I would drop off my semen samples or deposits. They don’t have a great process for this, I feel. Handing over a paper bag with a cup in it in the front lobby felt a little too public for my comfort.
Describe your experience with Piedmont Reproductive Endocrinology Group.

I connected with [Dr. Karenne Fru] very well. I never hesitated to ask questions and have always got an answer for one. Coming from a different ethnicity she always respected our culture and treated us very well and professionally. She has made things possible for us when everyone else lost hope in ourselves including us...We followed antagonist protocols and they were different in both my cycles...more keen on single embryo transfer and educated us about the complications of multiples.

I think this is a well run clinic overall. I was a little thrown off when I paid more for a nurse to do my IUI than I did for a physician. I wasn’t happy about that. At times it’s confusing when I call and it routes to the Greenville office. It’s not that big of a deal though.

I guess the cost is reasonable. Considering the amount of debt I’m in though.... fertility treatments are pricey.
