I really liked [Dr. Purcell] at the beginning. She is nice, easy going, does her ultrasounds and is gentle during transfers. I’m still sad things didn’t turn out. There were 2-3 critical times when she or staff did not return my calls or portal messages. That added much more emotional strain. She would only use natural or a medicated 6 week cycle. She did not want to use any other cycle. When I asked for success rates, I was directed to SART data.
[C.A.R.E. for the Bay Area] Felt more personal Location more convenient. Financials easier to understand. Missed the mark. Would have me make hard decisions on a full bladder or on the surgical table. Needed to be able to explain SART data or straight data. Inflexibility of protocol...[the nursing staff] were all pleasant. They always had Sandra give the bad news. I did not find Michelle helpful in the end

She did not want to use any other cycle. When I asked for success rates, I was directed to SART data. The only explanation of the SART for her was “we don’t generate those kinds of numbers.” This was after my last failed attempt. She could be very kind and generous. Still makes me sad.

Ask about success rates with donor eggs, and what are her protocols.

The staff knew me by name. I got more phone calls. Staff seemed to understand the nuances more. The doc always saw me, not a tech.

She does 6 week cycles.
Start with BC pills day 3 of period. Take about 10 days, then period and medications. Lupron for 27 days, add injectable estrogen twice a week for a couple of weeks, then injectable progesterone and pills, zpack and dexamethazone before transfer. 6 weeks was harder I think. I did not like Lupron.
