Robert Kaufmann

Dr.Kaufmann was recommended to me by my OBGYN. I was sent to him after experiencing a medical emergency involving reproductive organs. In all honesty, my OBGYN didnt think, recommended or want me to carry my own child. I was being sent to Dr. Kaufman as a second expert opinion on why it was dangerous for me to try and to use him for surrogacy options only. My OBGYN set up the appointment for me and sent in all of my medical documents. Thankfully Dr. Kaufman was a doctor who understands the importance of allowing women to carry if they can , and he didnt necessarily agree with my OBGYN, so he sent me to a specialist who deals with endometriosis. After running more test and reviewing images from my last surgery that had happened about two months previously, both doctors agreed to disagree with my 1st doctor and felt that I would be able to carry a baby to term. However they did both agree that I would get pregnant on my own without IVF. Dr. Kaufman communication throughout the entire process was great. Having your main OB (whom you trust) tell you one thing and a new doctor tell you another was difficult. But Dr. Kaufman left the door open for communication. He wanted to make sure we understood all the risk or lack there of and our chances. He even called to check in on us after our follow up appointment with my OBGYN just to make sure no new questions had arose. Full disclaimer we have not proceeded with IVF, not because of Dr. Kaufman, but because of Financial reasons. We fully intend to use Dr. Kaufman office when we have saved the money to do IVF.

Come with questions and then dont be afraid to ask them. Nothing is to small or stupid to him. He wants to make your dreams come true and he wants you to be a stress free and knowledge along the way.

Dr Kaufmann tries to take the time with each patient, but smaller appointments like monitoring can feel very rushed if he’s running behind schedule. He’ll stay if you have questions, but won’t do additional explaining.

Don’t be afraid to ask questions. Everything will be explained.

In the middle of our first IUI, we’ve used femara instead of clomid to reduce side effects. Ovidrel for the trigger shot. Still in the waiting period to see if this worked.

All cost are cash, not through insurance $450 for initial consultation $300 for HSG $95 for semen analysis $950 for IUI monitoring and insemination $168 for sample wash for insemination

He was very compassionate and sympathetic. He didn’t say the typical things you get from other doctors and he was very thorough with everything he did. Was very clear on our next steps, and was willing to explain everything in detail. He didn’t make me wait very long on the testing and was willing to start on anything as soon as we were ready.

Be honest and open about the problems you are going though and everything you’ve tried to do. He can’t be much help if he doesn’t know what you’ve done for your fertility. Listen to everything he says.

I wish if there saw only 1 or 2 eggs they would stop and restart...I never was informed of how many eggs they saw on the sonograms. Dr Kaufman was really friendly but I was left in the dark why he only retrieved 1 egg.

Ask every question you.. Dont hold back

After a failed IVF cycle with another doctor we received high recommendations for Dr Kaufman. We started using lupron, garnelyx and follistim. Time specific for each medicine and they evaluated me every 2 days until the trigger shot.

9700 for IVF cycle. Plus 6700 in medicines

He was a fabulous Dr with his bedside manner and experience. He made every visit feel empowering and not fear based like our OBGYN. He gave us hope which we didn’t have before walking into the doors. Everything about our experience with him was wonderful. He truly cared.
