Dr. Riggs is very kind and compassionate. My husband and I are country people and he totally went out of his way to try and connect with my husband about farming. This is not something we have had other doctors try to do. He spoke to us both and addressed all of our concerns. He was willing to answer any question we had and made sure that we did not feel rushed. He had a great sense of humor!...So far I have only done the consultation and the blood work with Dr. Riggs. Everything was routine from what I had experienced before with another clinic.

How was your experience with Ryan Riggs at Blue Sky Fertility?
My experience so far with Dr. Riggs has been a great one. He is very personable and understanding. He never made us feel dumb about our questions during the consultation. He made sure to explain who was in the room with us and why.
What's one piece of advice would you give a prospective patient of Ryan Riggs at Blue Sky Fertility?
Go to him! He is thorough and takes his time with you.

Describe the protocols Ryan Riggs used in your cycles at Blue Sky Fertility and their degree of success.
So far I have only done the consultation and the blood work with Dr. Riggs. Everything was routine from what I had experienced before with another clinic.
Describe your experience with the nursing staff.
The nursing staff is very kind and full of smiles. They respond to my emails very promptly and with as much information as they can give me. If the nurses cannot answer my question themselves they make sure to find someone who can before I get off of the phone or out of the office.
Describe your experience with Blue Sky Fertility.
The clinic could be a little more homey but I think they are doing the best they can with that space. They are very good at providing you with all of the information that you need. I did think that the location was a little hard to find but once inside if you are able to find and follow the signs you will be great!
Describe the costs associated with your care under Ryan Riggs at Blue Sky Fertility.
The first cost you will have is 350 for the consultation. The you will have around 400 for the blood work and tests done. After all of the test results come back that they wanted done you will be contacted to set up another appointment with Dr. Riggs to go over those results. That second appointment is 175. I did really like that at the beginning the clinic will give you a pricing sheet that has all of the costs broken down for you with their exact prices.

Riggs has been a good doctor for me. He spends the time to explain and answer all your questions. He is a little salesy, but I never question whether he has my best interest in mind....Riggs does like to do a lot of consults (that you pay for), so those were almost too many for me, but usually something I didn't know came out of each meeting....Doctor does prefer and suggest to genetically test embryos, so he then prefers single embryo transfer.

How was your experience with Ryan Riggs at Blue Sky Fertility?
Riggs has been a good doctor for me. He spends the time to explain and answer all your questions. He is a little salesy, but I never question whether he has my best interest in mind. I convinced him to do many more iuis than he had said he would and now I regret that we wasted time doing that. He is a great doctor and I recommend him to a lot of friends.
What's one piece of advice would you give a prospective patient of Ryan Riggs at Blue Sky Fertility?
Book appointments early, they are booked for months.
During treatment, were you treated like a number or a human with Ryan Riggs at Blue Sky Fertility?
Riggs and his office treat each patient like family. They spend the time needed with you and are available to quickly answer questions when they come up. Riggs does like to do a lot of consults (that you pay for), so those were almost too many for me, but usually something I didn't know came out of each meeting.
Describe the protocols Ryan Riggs used in your cycles at Blue Sky Fertility and their degree of success.
Many iuis with clomid or letrozole and 1 iui with injectibles. 1 iui resulted in a chemical. Good AMH number, so I expected IVF would result in many embryos but I didn't respond well to protocol and was given option to cancel. Moved forward and have 1 frozen. Husband also has bad sperm, so we opted for ICSI and PICSI.
Describe your experience with your nurse at Blue Sky Fertility. (Assigned nurse: Jen & Bre)
Staff at BSF is great and probably even more of what keeps people coming back. They are always very positive and rooting for you.
Describe your experience with Blue Sky Fertility.
They have 2 offices which I don't like. It gets confusing which office to go to and the staff rotates, so not the same consistent people each visit. The positivity and helpfulness of all staff is their biggest strength.
Describe the costs associated with your care under Ryan Riggs at Blue Sky Fertility.
Was $500 per iui, but cost has gone up slightly. Ultrasounds were running around $200. IVF retrieval, transfer, genetic testing for up to 8, PICSI and ICSI is around $19000 without drugs.
Describe Ryan Riggs's approach to eSET (elective single embryo transfer) vs. multiple embryo transfer at Blue Sky Fertility.
Doctor does prefer and suggest to genetically test embryos, so he then prefers single embryo transfer.

Our experience with Dr. Riggs has been wonderful - I wouldn't choose another RE in Kansas City for our fertility treatment. Our initial consult was over an hour long and he discussed all of our options with us (he had reviewed our blood work and semen analysis results before meeting).... For egg stimulation, Dr. Riggs used the Antagonist-Rome protocol with PGS testing for my IVF cycle. He chose this protocol based on my AMH level being 2.1 and to get as many eggs as possible.

How was your experience with Ryan Riggs at Blue Sky Fertility?
Our experience with Dr. Riggs has been wonderful - I wouldn't choose another RE in Kansas City for our fertility treatment. Our initial consult was over an hour long and he discussed all of our options with us (he had reviewed our blood work and semen analysis results before meeting). Dr. Riggs wants to get to know you and your family, so sometimes the conversations go off topic but every question we had was answered. We met with him again a couple months before starting stimulation medications for IVF and we met for 45 minutes. On day 9 of stims, he called and suggested to think about cancelling the cycle because my response was not what he had expected with the amh level I had (only had 5-6 follicles in range). I was an emotional mess after the call but we decided to carry on with the retrieval and ended up getting 7 eggs. Dr. Riggs was not pushy about his suggestion to cancel and told me we had a couple days to think about it. I asked him what he would recommend if it was his daughter and he said to go for the retrieval. I appreciated his honesty. Our first frozen embryo transfer failed and he met with us again for about 45 minutes. He was compassionate and explained he didn't know why it failed and went through all of the hormone levels, results etc. Of course we were upset but saw that he was too, which meant a lot to us. Every meeting we have had with him has been 30+ minutes and he is thorough and answers any questions you may have. He also remembers details about your life outside of fertility which is really nice. I have never felt rushed out of his office, which I appreciate especially because I always did research before meetings and had many questions to ask him. Strengths: *Takes time to answer every question you have and provides honest feedback *Providing current/knowledgeable options based on his expertise *Keeps up with latest fertility treatment options (ie intralipid infusion recommended before our next FET) *Educates but does not try to sell his opinion *Treats you like family when it comes to cost/options/health/next steps *Compassionate care/personable Weaknesses: *Sociable and goes off on tangents sometimes (this wasn't a weakness for me but I can see it being one for someone else)
What's one piece of advice would you give a prospective patient of Ryan Riggs at Blue Sky Fertility?
Dr. Riggs can come off as overwhelming but once you see that's his personality, you understand it's his passion for helping his patients succeed in their goals and he's really just excited/honored you chose him to be your doctor.
During treatment, were you treated like a number or a human with Ryan Riggs at Blue Sky Fertility?
My husband and I have always felt like a human throughout the entire process with Blue Sky Fertility - everyone you interact with is always welcoming and almost every single person there knows your name!
Describe the protocols Ryan Riggs used in your cycles at Blue Sky Fertility and their degree of success.
For egg stimulation, Dr. Riggs used the Antagonist-Rome protocol with PGS testing for my IVF cycle. He chose this protocol based on my AMH level being 2.1 and to get as many eggs as possible. For stims, I took vitamin D, Prenatal, birth control pills, Menopur, Dexamethasone, Cetrotide, Gonal-F, Pregnyl, Lupron, Doxycycline. My response rate was lower than expected based on the aggressive protocol and resulted in 7 eggs. 5 fertilized and 3 embryos made it to day 5 for PGS testing. 2 embryos passed PGS testing. For frozen embryo transfer preparation, I took low dose Aspirin, Progesterone in Oil, Estrace/Estradiol, Estrogen patches, Viagra Suppositories, Trental, Lupron, Medrol, and Novarel hCG. One PGS tested embryo was transferred and failed. Implantation occurred with low beta.
Describe your experience with your nurse at Blue Sky Fertility. (Assigned nurse: Bre)
Bre is organized, prompt and caring! Also, there were no dumb questions, which I really appreciated. There was an occasion where I didn't want to do an IM injection at home and she did it in the office for me. Bre was empathetic during the tough moments and always cheered us on!
Describe your experience with Blue Sky Fertility.
The wait time to get in an IVF cycle is long - but worth it! Every single person at the clinic is professional and provides compassionate care throughout the entire process. One weakness would be the lack communication about IVF class date/options (found out about the date/time a week out).
Describe the costs associated with your care under Ryan Riggs at Blue Sky Fertility.
Estimated $20,000 with medications for one IVF cycle.
Describe Ryan Riggs's approach to eSET (elective single embryo transfer) vs. multiple embryo transfer at Blue Sky Fertility.
Dr. Riggs prefers eSET but was open to doing a multiple embryo transfer if that is what we wanted to do. He did educate us on the trade offs of both options.

My experience as a patient of Dr. Riggs’ has been wonderful. He takes the time to go over your options and to hear your story. During our first visit, he took the time to listen to us and hear about the identical twins we lost and our 5+ years of struggle. I never felt rushed during our appointments and always felt like he truly cared about us.... I appreciate Dr. Riggs and his honesty regarding a single embryo transfer vs a multiple embryo transfer. After the 4th IUI failed we took some time before we moved on to IVF. In the labs prior to IVF my husband had another semen analysis which told us he has an abnormal sperm morphology. Dr. Riggs always suggests using ICSI for fertilization so they said we could still move forward with IVF. My labs had not changed from the previous year. We went through one egg retrieval where we got 5 eggs. 4 were mature, 2 fertilized and we got 1 blast to freeze but unfortunately it was PGS abnormal.

How was your experience with Ryan Riggs at Blue Sky Fertility?
My husband and I love Dr. Riggs. He is very open to hearing patient suggestions and will let you know why your suggestion works or why it doesn’t. He takes the time to sit with you and answer each question and is available at any time if you think of something new that didn’t come up in your meeting. He is always very positive but also realistic. He works really well with his staff and is great about collaborating care.
What's one piece of advice would you give a prospective patient of Ryan Riggs at Blue Sky Fertility?
He loves talking! So sometimes he can go on little tangents and get off subject. But this is one of the things we like about him because through this we’ve been able to spend more time talking and building a relationship with him.
During treatment, were you treated like a number or a human with Ryan Riggs at Blue Sky Fertility?
Dr. Riggs always takes the time to explain everything so that we understand it. He continually reminds us that he’s on our side and that the goal for everyone is a healthy baby in the end, however that may happen. He also helps us to focus on the current situation but still answers all of my “what if” questions. He takes the time to learn about our lives and asks us how things are outside of our treatments. The staff at Blue Sky definitely treats you like family and remembers you by first name. They always have a smile on their face and genuinely care about you.
Describe the protocols Ryan Riggs used in your cycles at Blue Sky Fertility and their degree of success.
My husbands original semen analysis was normal and my labs for DOR were not too far from normal so we started with IUI. We did 3 cycles with letrozole that failed. Dr. Riggs decided he would like a hysteroscope in case the hysterosalpingogram missed something. We found some uterine polyps. I had a surgery to have them removed so we decided to try a 4th IUI with letrozole. We did not do any injectable IUI cycles as we wanted to save that money for IVF. We are trying for a second egg retrieval soon with a different protocol.
Describe your experience with your nurse at Blue Sky Fertility. (Assigned nurse: Christina )
All of the staff at Blue Sky are amazing. The nurses, NPs, embryologist, billing, front desk. SO HELPFUL! They all work so well together to help make this the easiest process. They are there to answer any questions and if the person you ask does not know they help you find the right person to ask and follow up to make sure your question was answered. They are so compassionate and remember so much about you as an individual. They truly are routing for your success. I am in contact with each department through email and feel as though I can go to them for any concerns at any time. I can’t say enough about how amazing they are and how well they work together!!
Describe your experience with Blue Sky Fertility.
Strengths: They all communicate so well and work so well together. They are compassionate and truly care about you as an individual. They are some of the smartest people I know. They listen to your questions and concerns and make sure you walk out of there feeling good about your journey. When our last IUI failed they sent us a sympathy card in the mail and at my visit they all gave me a hug. They are family. Weaknesses: I can’t think of any! Maybe that the initial appointment takes a while. This is because they don’t take on more than they can handle. They want to be able to treat their patients like family and they can only do this by taking so many patients at a time. Anything else: It is so worth the wait to get treatment at Blue Sky.
Describe the costs associated with your care under Ryan Riggs at Blue Sky Fertility.
IUI with oral medications less than $3,000 IVF + meds approx $21000 (This includes embryo freezing, genetic testing, ICSI)

Dr. Riggs does a fantastic job of making you feel like you are as important to him as family. You get individualized treatment and attention from him at every visit. He is warm and friendly, and will give you his honest opinions and expectations for your cycle.
What's one piece of advice would you give a prospective patient of Ryan Riggs at Blue Sky Fertility?
Ask questions if you don’t understand a number, statistic, procedure, or outcome. Dr. Riggs is always ready and willing to break things down as they can be confusing at times during this process.
During treatment, were you treated like a number or a human with Ryan Riggs at Blue Sky Fertility?
The individualized attention from Dr. Riggs and his staff go above and beyond our expectations as patients. Although we have not achieved pregnancy yet, we are confident that our doctor and his clinic are just as determined as we are to make pregnancy happen soon.
Describe the protocols Ryan Riggs used in your cycles at Blue Sky Fertility and their degree of success.
We decided to do a uterine polypectomy surgery after our egg retrieval to make sure we gave my uterus very little time to regrow any polyps between retrieval and embryo transfer. Dr. Riggs was also concerned that I was at high risk for OHSS, so he made sure to start me out with the lowest amounts of follicle stimulating drugs during retrieval prep. We also did a mock embryo transfer so that the real embryo transfer would be easy and smooth. Overall I was Impressed by his treatment plans and precautions to make sure I was under the best care.
Describe your experience with the nursing staff.
Each member of the nursing staff took care to know me as an individual at their clinic. I never felt like I couldn’t call them with questions or concerns. They were very easy to get ahold of, and were prompt with their responses.

This clinic has blown me away with their patient care for us during this stressful time in our lives. They are kind, and leave me feeling happy and confident that we have come up with a successful plan together to help us make and bring a baby into this world.

For one round of IVF including an egg retrieval, uterine polypectomy, genetic testing, embryo culturing and storing, and one frozen embryo transfer we estimate our cost at somewhere around $20,000.

At our initial consultation, Dr. Riggs sat with us and went through our history for almost an hour...Dr. Riggs answered more questions for me than my previous clinic did in all my time with them. I also felt like Dr. Riggs wanted to try a more personalized approach versus just applying a standard protocol to my situation... he has been incredibly personable and kind. How was your experience with Ryan Riggs at Blue Sky Fertility?
We have not been through an IVF cycle with Dr. Riggs yet, but even through our preliminary appointments and some follow up testing, he has been incredibly personable and kind. I don't need or want a doctor to sugarcoat the truth for me, but I do want to be heard, and I do want things explained to me, and I feel like both of those needs have been met at Blue Sky.
What's one piece of advice would you give a prospective patient of Ryan Riggs at Blue Sky Fertility?
Go now! Because Dr. Riggs is developing a good reputation in KC, his schedule fills up fast, at least for IVF cycles. He cycles his IVF, so you can't just start at any time. When we started seeing him in January of 2018, he already had a waitlist for his July IVF cycle.
During treatment, were you treated like a number or a human with Ryan Riggs at Blue Sky Fertility?
At our initial consultation, Dr. Riggs sat with us and went through our history for almost an hour. My previous RE would never have spent that much time with us, and if she did, we would have felt like a huge inconvenience. Dr. Riggs answered more questions for me than my previous clinic did in all my time with them. I also felt like Dr. Riggs wanted to try a more personalized approach versus just applying a standard protocol to my situation.
Describe the protocols Ryan Riggs used in your cycles at Blue Sky Fertility and their degree of success.
We are still in the early stages of planning for our next IVF cycle, and protocol is going to be discussed in more detail next week. However, after a failed IVF cycle at another clinic, I purchased the book "It Starts with the Egg." I understand that some of the book's suggestions may not be completed proven, but I was happy to hear that Dr. Riggs wanted to put me on some antioxidants and other supplements prior to another cycle. I was frustrated with my previous clinic that they didn't suggest taking anything - especially things that may help and couldn't hurt.
Describe your experience with the nursing staff.
So far, the nursing staff has been great. I had a hysteroscopy, which I was terrified for, and both Dr. Riggs and the nurse were completing understanding and patient with me. The rest of the nursing staff has been great as well.
Describe your experience with Blue Sky Fertility.
I think that Blue Sky has a lot of strengths. The way they treat their patients and their overall philosophy and approach. I also think they have very high success rates. The only weaknesses I've noticed are the long wait times to get into an IVF cycle and the fact that they are a new clinic and may have some kinks to work out - nothing that would stop me from going there or recommending to someone else.
Describe the costs associated with your care under Ryan Riggs at Blue Sky Fertility.
We haven't paid for our IVF cycle yet, but from the information we have been provided, the cost seems comparable to our previous clinic. We did make a $500 deposit to get an IVF slot reserved.

Dr. Riggs treated my wife and I as individuals and was not accepting of our same-sex marriage. He helped us find a lawyer for legal advise for our situation. He took the time to meet with us and it didn’t feel as though he had to look through our medical chart to remember us. He is very personable and I would recommend him and his office to everyone.

What's one piece of advice would you give a prospective patient of Ryan Riggs at Blue Sky Fertility?
Don’t feel afraid to ask all of your questions. Dr. Riggs is knowledgeable and wants to ensure you know exactly what is happening throughout the IVF process.
During treatment, were you treated like a number or a human with Ryan Riggs at Blue Sky Fertility?
Dr. Riggs is compassionate and very knowledgeable. He explained the process very well. I did feel at times like we were rushed around and had many “pre” appointments. We live an hour away so it would have been nice to have the opportunity to combine appointments. Overall, I felt valued.
Describe the protocols Ryan Riggs used in your cycles at Blue Sky Fertility and their degree of success.
We are starting the stimulation phase in a couple of weeks and Dr. Riggs has wrote out a plan for our IVF meds. We have not started this yet.
Describe your experience with your nurse at Blue Sky Fertility. (Assigned nurse: Christina )
The nursing staff is so easy to work with. We had so many questions and the nursing staff never hesitated to ask or call around and help us through the process. They took time to ease our worries and concerns. The staff was definitely the best part of the experience.
Describe your experience with Blue Sky Fertility.
Overall, it was wonderful working with Blue Sky and I am so happy we found them. They made us feel warm and welcome from the very beginning. The only weakness I found was the attitude of one staff member, the front desk clerk. She plays an important role in the clinic and can definitely push people away from using this clinic. I was disappointed, but the help, professionalism, compassion from all the other staff made up for it.
Describe the costs associated with your care under Ryan Riggs at Blue Sky Fertility.
The cost is estimated at $17K to include medications. The staff informed us of different programs to aid in the cost such as Baby Quest grants, medication discount programs and veterans program discounts.
Describe Ryan Riggs's approach to eSET (elective single embryo transfer) vs. multiple embryo transfer at Blue Sky Fertility.
Dr. Riggs explained the embryo transfer process to us and we felt comfortable and at ease knowing the level of detail him and the embryologist go into to ensure the best possible embryo outcome for the patient.

How was your experience with Ryan Riggs at Blue Sky Fertility?
Dr. Riggs is good at communicating with my husband and I and making sure we understand everything. He is compassionate and understands that infertility is a very tough situation that he is dealing with and he is a gently but straightforward communicator. Our main infertility issue is male factor so Dr Riggs suggested having us look into donor sperm. We tried, but it was something we decided we couldn't do. Dr. Riggs did not try to push it on us. He explained that if My husband's sample does not have enough on egg retrieval day, then they will just freeze my eggs until we have enough. It was nice that he found a solution for that.
What's one piece of advice would you give a prospective patient of Ryan Riggs at Blue Sky Fertility?
This advice would go to anyone that is seeing a fertility specialist, you have to trust your doctor. If you go into it and you're skeptical, you don't feel like they have your best interest in mind, or you feel like they aren't good at what they're doing then you're not going to have a successful experience. You have to trust who you're working with and believe that they want the same end result as you do.
During treatment, were you treated like a number or a human with Ryan Riggs at Blue Sky Fertility?
When I walk into the office everyone in there knows me by name and knows me very well. I can email or call and get answers right away. Dr. Riggs, so far through the process, has understood different concerns my husband and I have and is good about talking us through every step of the process.
Describe the protocols Ryan Riggs used in your cycles at Blue Sky Fertility and their degree of success.
I am currently on an antagonist protocol. I am on stims two times a day for ten days. I will have 5 appointments to monitor my egg growth and my egg retrieval will be on day 12, 13, or 14. Dr. Riggs does PGS testing on the embryos, so I will have them genetically tested and frozen. My transfer will be in two months.
Describe your experience with your nurse at Blue Sky Fertility. (Assigned nurse: Christina)
Christina is absolutely amazing. She emails back within thirty minutes, she takes my call every time I call, she celebrates successes with me, she is compassionate and empathetic with upsets. She has been a rock through this whole process.
Describe your experience with Blue Sky Fertility.
The clinic is easy to call and get ahold of someone to talk to. It is easy to get to. First time patients will have about a two month wait, but then everything else can move pretty quickly once you get in.
Describe your experience with your monitoring appointments at Blue Sky Fertility.
I had my appointments in the morning and I was seen right away.
Describe the costs associated with your care under Ryan Riggs at Blue Sky Fertility.
My insurance does not cover anything so I have paid everything out of pocket. Our IVF cycle is $15,540. That does not include the cost of the appointments, because those are also not covered under insurance.
Describe Ryan Riggs's approach to eSET (elective single embryo transfer) vs. multiple embryo transfer at Blue Sky Fertility.
Dr. Riggs will not transfer more than two embryos. With PGS testing there is a greater chance of transfering in multiple embryos that would stick. He does not want to create a pregnancy that could result in birth complications if there are multiple babies. He has expressed that he not only wants to get us pregnant, ut he wants us to give birth to a healthy baby as well.

Dr. Riggs is blunt, lays out the facts, but does so in a compassionate manner. He is funny and adds humor, but knows when to be serious and loving. I truly feel he cares about each one of his patients and their unique journeys.... Although the first cycle was a bust, it wasn't at the fault of Dr. Riggs. We also sat down and talked about my goals and desire to try another cycle. Through this, I learned how ethical of a man and physician he is.

How was your experience with Ryan Riggs at Blue Sky Fertility?
I started with Dr. Riggs May 1st, 2017. I am recently divorced and journeying through the IVF experience alone. He has been absolutely nothing less than encouraging and supportive, but also helpful in keeping my goals realistic. I went through a workup to figure out why I was unable to conceive on my own. Although I struggled with the findings, I was still hopeful and encouraged for what I would be able to accomplish with Dr. Riggs and his team. I started my first cycle on 12/21/17 through 2/27/18. Giving myself 5 shots a day, alone, even as a nurse was extremely intimidating! The staff was available for 24 hours a day to answer questions. If I had them, they never made me feel ignorant or an inconvenience! Several ultrasounds in, and based on lab results, it appeared that my body wasn't responding to the meds. Dr. Riggs remained honest throughout the entire time. As a nurse, I appreciate the honesty given in a compassionate manner. I think healthcare professionals often times are either one or the other. Although the first cycle was a bust, it wasn't at the fault of Dr. Riggs. We also sat down and talked about my goals and desire to try another cycle. Through this, I learned how ethical of a man and physician he is. He very easily could have encouraged me to go through several cycles. However, we decided on one more before discussing other options or walking away altogether. Being ethical is something that women and couples need to consider when looking for a physician in this field. It can be a money driven business. I trust Dr. Riggs with my body, my emotional well-being, and my wallet. My next cycle will start May 25th, 2018.
What's one piece of advice would you give a prospective patient of Ryan Riggs at Blue Sky Fertility?
He's the best in KC!! He's more than a doctor, he's family.
During treatment, were you treated like a number or a human with Ryan Riggs at Blue Sky Fertility?
First off, walking in the receptionist and all of the staff recognize me by name. This alone makes me feel like more than a number. Dr. Riggs is blunt, lays out the facts, but does so in a compassionate manner. He is funny and adds humor, but knows when to be serious and loving. I truly feel he cares about each one of his patients and their unique journeys.
Describe the protocols Ryan Riggs used in your cycles at Blue Sky Fertility and their degree of success.
I was on a protag protocol (from what I'm told). I had Lupron SQ twice daily. I had Gonal F at bedtime. In the AM I also had Omnitrope and Menopur SQ. Plus an oral Dexamethasone. The US before the tentative retrieval, I only had 3 follicles in the right ovary and none in the left. Therefore my cycle was cancelled.
Describe your experience with your nurse at Blue Sky Fertility. (Assigned nurse: Christina)
I can't say enough about the staff at Blue Sky Fertility. From the first appointment, they became family. They love and accept me for my sometimes foul mouth all the way to my obnoxious behavior and all the way to my tears and anxiety attacks. They are all professional, courteous, and compassionate. Christina is an excellent communicator, she's organized and timely. I NEVER had to wait for information. She never made me feel dumb or an inconvenience when I had questions or needed extra explanations.
Describe your experience with Blue Sky Fertility.
Blue Sky is a highly functioning, successful clinic. They are organized, efficient, transparent. Going in, you are aware of who each individual is and what their role will be in your treatment. The staff at Blue Sky Fertility MAKES you a part of their family.
Describe the costs associated with your care under Ryan Riggs at Blue Sky Fertility.
My costs were fair. I encourage anyone to research cost and comparables and to find a physician whom is transparent regarding everything, especially financials.
Describe Ryan Riggs's approach to eSET (elective single embryo transfer) vs. multiple embryo transfer at Blue Sky Fertility.
I didn't get that far into my journey, this round. I can tell you as a single, heterosexual female I would NOT have chosen multiple embryo transfer.

It was refreshing to be with a clinic that cared and did everything that we wanted from PGS testing to freezing our embryos. Describe the protocols Ryan Riggs used in your cycles at Conceptions Reproductive Associates and their degree of success.
Dr. Riggs was slow and steady with me he didn't over medicate like my previous RE did. I stimulated beautifully resulting in 14 eggs retrieved my first IVF cycle with Dr. Riggs and then 6 retrieved my second IVF cycle. Every month is different so I wasn't that upset that I only retrieved 6 eggs for the second cycle. He added in HGH and dexamethasone and Lupron to be used with the trigger. These drugs were never used in my previous IVF cycles. We wanted to freeze all so we could PGS test.

During treatment, were you treated like a number or a human with Ryan Riggs at Conceptions Reproductive Associates?
The nurses at the Lafayette facility were great. I was not thrilled with the nurse I worked with at the Littleton facility. Dr. Riggs was reasonable and honest, although most of the care at Conceptions is interactions with the nursing staff.
Describe the protocols Ryan Riggs used in your cycles at Conceptions Reproductive Associates and their degree of success.
We attempted two rounds of IUI using Femara. I do consistently ovulate, but I have Diminished Ovarian Reserve, so the goal behind this was to stimulate a "good" egg. Unfortunately, we did not succeed at getting pregnant. Next, we tried IVF with maximum stimulation using Follistim, Omnitrope (growth hormone to increase egg quality), and Menopur. Unfortunately, I did not make enough follicles to proceed to egg retrieval. Dr. Riggs was willing to try a different treatment approach in an attempt to make more follicles, but we opted to move on to embryo adoption at that point.
Describe your experience with your nurse at Conceptions Reproductive Associates. (Assigned nurse: Julie Zentz)
The nursing staff we had during IUI cycles was awesome, particularly Kalise (Sp?). However, Julie, our IVF nurse, seemed distant and as if she didn't really take the time to really look into and answer our questions thoroughly. Once we said we were done with IVF, she brushed off any other questions that I sent her way regarding my fertility journey.
Describe your experience with Conceptions Reproductive Associates.
Strengths- quality medicine, good SART rates, clean facility, educated staff Weaknesses- particular staff members with poor communication, and not allowing the patient to feel like a part of the team for their care
Describe the costs associated with your care under Ryan Riggs at Conceptions Reproductive Associates.
Each IUI cycle was approximately $1500, and the IVF cycle was $15,000 (fresh cycle, no genetic testing of embryos). The additional costs such as labs, surgery, and other procedures brought our total for the year to $30,000

Describe your experience with your nurse at Conceptions Reproductive Associates.
The entire nursing staff is AMAZING. AMAZING. They always responded to me quickly, either by phone or by email. They held my hand through all the processes I had to go through and they were completely invested in my success. I cannot say enough about how wonderful they were.
Describe your experience with Conceptions Reproductive Associates.
Everybody is always on time at Conceptions, from the phlebotomists to the ultrasound techs, to the nurses, to the doctors. I found everybody to be extremely friendly, helpful, and caring, which was so important during the process. People remembered my name and cared about me as a person. I was always called back promptly for any questions. Honestly, I have zero complaints and actually already recommended Conceptions to another friend (who always has a baby from her experience there).
Describe the costs associated with your care under Ryan Riggs at Conceptions Reproductive Associates.
I think the IUI, with meds, cost about $1000. That included ultrasounds, sperm washing, etc. IVF costs were about $16,000, I think, not including medication (which brought it up well over $20,000).

Dr. Riggs was a good Doctor, but I do feel like I was put into a protocol based on my age and numbers. I don't think he really looked into our case and that is why we only had 1 embryo from two cycles. He seemed like he had a lot of knowledge but it should have been more specific to my case...For both cycles I used about 40 vials of menopur and 60 vials of bravelle. I believe it was an antagonist protocol. I cycled for about 9 days. Both my husband and I used their vitamin list to prepare for both retrievals.

I thought that Dr. Riggs was a good doctor but I don't think he looked into the facts of our case and rather just picked out a protocol for our age and used a lot of medication. I had better results and more tests with another doctor.
What's one piece of advice would you give a prospective patient of Ryan Riggs at Conceptions Reproductive Associates?
Stand up for you case and ask questions. Ask why he is choosing those medication dosages and why that protocol. We did a second cycle with Dr. Riggs and we had horrible outcome and we did a second cycle with the same protocol and again had a horrible outcome. We should of pushed on why the protocol stayed the same or asked for a second opinion.
During treatment, were you treated like a number or a human with Ryan Riggs at Conceptions Reproductive Associates?
Dr. Riggs was a good Doctor, but I do feel like I was put into a protocol based on my age and numbers. I don't think he really looked into our case and that is why we only had 1 embryo from two cycles. He seemed like he had a lot of knowledge but it should have been more specific to my case.
Describe the protocols Ryan Riggs used in your cycles at Conceptions Reproductive Associates and their degree of success.
For both cycles I used about 40 vials of menopur and 60 vials of bravelle. I believe it was an antagonist protocol. I cycled for about 9 days. Both my husband and I used their vitamin list to prepare for both retrievals.
Describe your experience with your nurse at Conceptions Reproductive Associates. (Assigned nurse: Kelsey and Sarah)
I had two nurses. Kelsey and Sarah. They were both amazing. They were wonderful and never forgot anything. They always called in my medication correctly and on time, they didn't have any errors in my paperwork. I could email or call them and I would always get a quick and detailed response. Wonderful staff.
Describe your experience with Conceptions Reproductive Associates.
This is a smaller clinic. I think this clinic would be great for general infertility issues but if you have egg quality or sperm issues I don't feel that their lab is equipped to handle difficult cases. They seem to do more IUIs there.
Describe your experience with your monitoring appointments at Conceptions Reproductive Associates.
They had open times for ultrasound and bloodwork when I was there. It was a very short wait for both appointments and it was usually the same nurse.
Describe the costs associated with your care under Ryan Riggs at Conceptions Reproductive Associates.
I did two IVF cycles with Dr. Riggs and we also did CCS testing. We did our IVF cycles back to back with two separate CCS testing. We never did a transfer as our one embryo is still frozen. I believe between medication and cycles we spent about $65,000. The medications were very costly as for my first cycle it was $8,000 and my second cycle was $6,000.
Describe Ryan Riggs's approach to eSET (elective single embryo transfer) vs. multiple embryo transfer at Conceptions Reproductive Associates.
We never got to a transfer.

We first got a diagnosis [from Dr. Ryan Riggs], only after a few weeks. It was refreshing because the other clinic didn't even run the same tests to diagnose. After a previous ectopic and loss of a tube, He suggested IVF..especially since we've had 11 other failed cycles. We did try one IUI cycle. I did have a good egg after letrazole...but we did not end up pregnant. Plan is to start IVF cycle next month...He talks to us, not at, and explains things several ways. He entertains all our questions and really just wants to talk to us. He is kind nd makes us feel comfortable.

Dr Riggs is extremely smart and has a lot of experience. My husband loves him but I feel I need more compassion. He sees these 'issues' every day so they seem like no big deal to him but when I was first going through this process every 'set back' was a broken heart for me and he said everything so casually. Dr Riggs is great at explaining ultrasounds and what he is looking for. I felt like when I would ask questions they wouldn't be answered, he would just talk around my question. I am happy to be a patient of his and would recommend him.

Describe your experience with the nursing staff.
I cannot say enough good things about the nurses at Blue Sky. They are so compassionate and really want to do everything they can for you. They always asked about our lives and took a real interest in us personally. When I left a voicemail for them I always got a response within 2 hours. When I would email I would get a response within 2 hours. They had so much patience with me and always reassured me. They made me feel important.
Describe your experience with Blue Sky Fertility.
They have always been able to get me an appointment when I needed one. The clinic is small, which I like. The location is not the best but worth the drive for the care you receive. They don't do HSG in the office.

Our insurance did not cover anything so these are cash prices: IUI - Sperm Isolation $250 plus Insemination $250 Baseline Ultrasound $270 Follicle Check Ultrasound $300 Hysteroscopy $850

It was always tailored to my specific conditions, and he altered our plan as we would find out more information... He [Dr Ryan Riggs] is very kind. You can tell he is passionate about what he does. I do wish I had a more direct communication relationship with him. I prefer to know the bad and good and all the details in between, it puts my mind at ease the more I know. I feel that is opposite for a lot of patients and haven’t quite found the right communication that I am looking for.

He uses a spreadsheet to keep track of all lab tests, lab results, last testing and will create or adjust treatment based on this spreadsheet. It is very helpful to see and reassuring in moving forward with care.
Describe your experience with your nurse at Blue Sky Fertility. (Assigned nurse: Christina )
Overall, everyone has been very genuine, kind and compassionate to me and my husband.
Describe your experience with Blue Sky Fertility.
Very nice clinic, well kept, in a quiet area. Would recommend “back up” for staff when they are gone to cover. That has been my only complaint thus far is a breakdown in communication. Also, have received a few different answers so need further clarification but overall great place.
Describe the costs associated with your care under Ryan Riggs at Blue Sky Fertility.
Estimated costs for everything were about $11-16,000 without medications
Describe Ryan Riggs's approach to eSET (elective single embryo transfer) vs. multiple embryo transfer at Blue Sky Fertility.
He has recommended single embryo transfer. Although we have not been able to get to the transfer portion of this process yet, it is my understanding that he is willing to do more than one, although not more than two at one time based on research and recommendations.
