[Dr. Wayne Lin] was clear about the realities and barriers posed by diminished ovarian reserve and tubal blockage. I appreciated his honesty...My disappointment came during our in person meetings when he seemed to always be in a hurry. He spoke very quickly...I rarely had the chance to ask one or two questions during each monitoring visit.
[Fertility Centers of Orange County] Nursing team is great, the doctor may be skilled however I cannot speak to his results as my cycle was canceled and he failed to explain why or follow up. I believe he could have been more attentive as my interactions with him left me wanting more answers. He also could have been more investigative, afterall he did not tell me anything I didn't already know and he never clarified what went wrong during my cycle that resulted in its cancelation.
How was your experience with Wayne Lin at Fertility Centers of Orange County?
I knew going into treatment that it would be challenging as I was aware of my diagnosis. The doctor was clear about the realities and barriers posed by diminished ovarian reserve and tubal blockage. I appreciated his honesty and how thorough he was during our initial consultation via zoom. My disappointment came during our in person meetings when he seemed to always be in a hurry. He spoke very quickly and used analogies much too often. I rarely had the chance to ask one or two questions during each monitoring visit. From the visits I gathered that my body was not responding as he almost immediately decided to increase my dosage of gonal-f. Ultimately my IVF cycle was canceled, despite the disappointment my biggest complaint is the doctor's lack of communication as he never reached out to explain why my cycle was canceled, what the next steps could be, what we could do differently going forward. Instead, all I got was a call from the nurse saying the doctor had ordered that I discontinue injections as the cycle was canceled. He provided no clarity and his failure to follow up confirmed how uninvested he was.
What's one piece of advice would you give a prospective patient of Wayne Lin at Fertility Centers of Orange County?
Advocate for yourself, demand you get the time and undivided attention that you deserve as a paying patient.
During treatment, were you treated like a number or a human with Wayne Lin at Fertility Centers of Orange County?
Everyone in the office is very welcoming and attentive. The doctor is also warm and friendly but he seems incredibly rushed. He was fine during our initial consultation which was via zoom but once in office he seemed to rush in and out of the in person appointments. Most if not all my monitoring appointments consisted of him quickly jumping into an ultrasound, briefly describing what he saw and proceeding to tell me that one of the nurses would inform me of the next steps. Then he was off to the next room.
Describe the protocols Wayne Lin used in your cycles at Fertility Centers of Orange County and their degree of success.
Estrace for priming, injectables began with 300 gonal f at night, and 150 menopur in the morning. After first monitoring visit and labs gonal f was increased to 375. Cycle was canceled after 2nd monitoring appointment. Doctor didn't explain rationale very well during visits. Again used his analogies of the engine of a car getting started which seemed to only cloud my understanding. Nurses did a much better job of clarifying once he was out of the room during in person visits.
Describe your experience with the nursing staff at Fertility Centers of Orange County.
The nurses were all very sweet and attentive. They went out of their way to answer questions regarding everything from insurance coverage, ordering and application of meds, and clarified things the doctor seemed to busy to do himself.

Not sure what the overall cost of my being seen by Dr. Lin was, as I have insurance coverage.
Describe Wayne Lin's approach to eSET (elective single embryo transfer) vs. multiple embryo transfer at Fertility Centers of Orange County.
He strongly encouraged single embryo transfer and briefly described why.

Dr Lin has a very approachable demeanor. He remembered every single detail each time and was very supportive...I couldn’t have asked for more from a Fertility doctor...I was always treated so well and communication was always timely...I have a history of ectopic pregnancy and still have my tubes so to decrease risk of another ectopic, Dr Lin had advised on eSET and we were in agreement
Everyone in the [Fertility Centers of Orange County] clinic is warm and compassionate. I had a lot of setbacks (not all under Dr Lin’s control unfortunately) and the staff at FCOC was so supportive. I couldn’t have asked for more from a Fertility doctor/ center- I was always treated so well and communication was always timely.
How was your experience with Wayne Lin at Fertility Centers of Orange County?
I have nothing but good words to say for Dr Lin and all his staff. Everyone in the clinic is warm and compassionate. I had a lot of setbacks (not all under Dr Lin’s control unfortunately) and the staff at FCOC was so supportive. I couldn’t have asked for more from a Fertility doctor/ center- I was always treated so well and communication was always timely.
What's one piece of advice would you give a prospective patient of Wayne Lin at Fertility Centers of Orange County?
Trust the process
During treatment, were you treated like a number or a human with Wayne Lin at Fertility Centers of Orange County?
Dr Lin has a very approachable demeanor. He remembered every single detail each time and was very supportive when things didn’t work out for us (not just in our fertility journey but other professional and personal hurdles I came across while in his care)
Describe the protocols Wayne Lin used in your cycles at Fertility Centers of Orange County and their degree of success.
Dr Lin adjusted my protocol from BCP to estrace for prepping for egg retreival for second cycle as first was canceled due to dominant follicle. That worked and we got embryos that cycle. I went for another egg retreival voluntarily and this time he adjusted the FSH dosage slightly and we got better results again. I had to be on Lupron per Dr Lin’s advice for few weeks before my transfer (which resulted in birth of our son) as before this I had a cancelled transfer cycle on Estrace. I would like to mention that I have PCOS and since the beginning of my fertility journey, my body has resisted responding well to medications/ birth control pills
Describe your experience with the nursing staff at Fertility Centers of Orange County.
I have nothing but good words for all the nurses- Tina, Monique, Gaby and Amy. As well as their billing coordinator Michelle and front office manager Malika. I was probably their longest patient over one and half year (due to cancelled cycles due to personal and professional reasons as well).. I am also a healthcare professional and I have never seen better coordination, warmth and compassion in the staff of an entire care center like this before
Describe your experience with Fertility Centers of Orange County.
I guess they are a busy center. We waited for three months for our first appointment. But looking back, I am glad we did and we stayed with Dr Lin despite wanting to give up on our journey so many times
Describe the costs associated with your care under Wayne Lin at Fertility Centers of Orange County.
30k for egg retrieval and around 10k for transfer
Describe Wayne Lin's approach to eSET (elective single embryo transfer) vs. multiple embryo transfer at Fertility Centers of Orange County.
I have a history of ectopic pregnancy and still have my tubes so to decrease risk of another ectopic, Dr Lin had advised on eSET and we were in agreement

Dr Lin was very kind and I could tell he was rooting for me to succeed. However after years of trying and two failed IVF cycles I moved to different doctor and was successful the first time. I think the problem was I didn't communicate my medical history to Dr. Lin and he didn't ask. I was taking migraine medication that pretty much made it impossible to get pregnant and had no idea. If we went over my history it could have saved years of pain...
[Fertility Centers of Orange County] were always able to make an appointment and went out of their way to accommodate my work schedule. It would have been nice if they were open before 8am or after 5pm. Billing department was very organized and prices were similar to other clinics...When transferring to another clinic they provided incomplete files and it took weeks to get. Other than that, no problems....

Dr. Lin was very thorough in his explanations, and gave us a comprehensive explanation of what he felt was our best course of action, while letting us have a say. We did letrozole and timed intercourse for three cycles, then moved onto letrozole and IUI. Letrozole started off at 5mg, but after poor response the first cycle, was upped to 7.5mg for 10 days, which produced a reasonable number of follicles. Dr. Lin was very caring and listen to us. He took the time to explain everything he was doing and his voice somehow put you at ease. He was very calm in his explanations and didn't rush us. The only thing I would've liked Dr. Lin to do is be more aggressive in treatment. I feel like it may have saved us some money and we may have had results faster.... Tell Dr. Lin exactly what you want to do and what you are comfortable with doing and what you're not.
The clinic [Reproductive Partners Medical Group] was clean, but the furniture was very old. I didn't appreciate that personal information was given out in front of other nurses, staff and sometimes around other patients. I think it was just the way the clinic was set up that it wasn't very private... I remember that my wife would be waiting on the phone for a call that sometimes never came. She would have to call and sometimes they would say they would call back and they wouldn't.
