Attention to Detail

Attention to detail is on a 1 - 10 scale, and is scored based on the rate, and severity, of errors committed by the clinic according to the patients.

For example, a severe error might be failing to inform a patient of critical information, while a small error might be failing to call a patient with results.

CDC Success Rates

This is the most recent data from the CDC. The CDC cautions that it should not be used to compare doctors and clinics. This data represents the outcomes of IVF cycles when using a person's own eggs.

For more information please see our FAQs.

Where you see a “?” on the chart, a clinic has done fewer than 20 cycles in this category and age range, so the CDC says showing percentages from this small data set would be misleading and unreliable.

He [Dr. Gelety] was 99% sure that I had endometriosis based on my age and years of taking birth control pills. Turns out he was right because he did end up doing surgery a few months after I began seeing him and found mild endometriosis, multiple polyps, cysts, and scar tissue of my left fallopian tube which he said may have indicated I had an ectopic pregnancy at one point. Dr. Gelety is confident in his skills and he did an excellent job with my surgery. He is very direct with what he feels your course of treatment should be and why. He does not jump right to recommending IVF like most reproductive endocrinologists do. I did begin taking Lupron shots in preparation for IVF (as this is the route my husband and I chose to go). Shortly after beginning the shots, I learned I was pregnant with twins. Dr. Gelety was fantastic

How was your experience with Timothy Gelety at Arizona Center for Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility?
I have been seeing Dr. Gelety for almost one year (I started fertility treatment at another clinic then transferred to him). He did an excellent job at our consultation reviewing the workup we had received with our previous doctor and some more testing he would like to do. He was 99% sure that I had endometriosis based on my age and years of taking birth control pills. Dr. Gelety was fantastic during this process and had me come in weekly for ultrasounds and bloodwork to closely monitor my babies since I had experienced 2 miscarriages already and was at an advanced maternal age. He also had me begin taking progesterone pills and of course I stopped the Lupron immediately upon getting a positive pregnancy test. Unfortunately, at 7 weeks no heartbeat was detected and I scheduled a d&c with Dr. Gelety which occurred the following week. During this process Dr. Gelety was very sympathetic and I could tell he truly was hurting for my husband and I. Another thing I love about Dr. Gelety is that he will support you in your journey even if he is in disagreement. For instance, after the miscarriage and before I pursue IVF I decided to take some time off and begin the supplement regimen recommended in "It Starts with the Egg" as well as begin a Mediterranean diet and acupuncture. Dr. Gelety was honest with me when I told him this is the course I would like to go. He said in his experience, he has had women get pregnant with IVF who did not change their lifestyle but he also told me he fully supports my decision. I am very happy that my husband and I are receiving our infertility treatment with Dr. Gelety.
What's one piece of advice would you give a prospective patient of Timothy Gelety at Arizona Center for Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility?
Make sure you come prepared with questions. Dr. Gelety talks and moves fast, so it may be necessary to ask him to repeat things. If he sees that you have a list of questions, he is more likely to sit down with you and answer them. Also, continue to follow your heart and gut during this process at Dr. Gelety's clinic. He will make suggestions that he is very confident about, but ultimately you know what is right for your body.
During treatment, were you treated like a number or a human with Timothy Gelety at Arizona Center for Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility?
Dr. Gelety refers to me by name but there have been times that he forgot what my plan of care was and needed a reminder which then made me feel like a number.
Describe the protocols Timothy Gelety used in your cycles at Arizona Center for Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility and their degree of success.
As far as I know, his protocols for IVF and IUI are very patient specific. For my IVF process, his plan was to start me on Lupron injections just after my period ended. Then we were to begin Menopur. From there, I am unsure what the process would have been. Dr. Gelety's clinic provides you with information one step at a time and monitors you very closely.
Describe your experience with the nursing staff at Arizona Center for Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility.
The nurse quality varied greatly in my opinion from person to person. The nurse I trusted the most and seemed to have the most knowledge and skill was Cory.
Describe your experience with Arizona Center for Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility.
Overall, this is a great clinic. I have had no issues with communication or appointments which I think generally can be found at many clinics. The billing and invoices have been a bit confusing to read which makes me uneasy at times. However, Heather who works in billing is great and I do trust her. It is an older clinic and I wonder about the technology. Are they using old technology? This worries me especially with the IVF process and growing the embryos in the lab as well as the quality of the PGS testing.
Describe the costs associated with your care under Timothy Gelety at Arizona Center for Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility.
Dr. Gelety's fertility treatment prices are VERY fair and cheaper than most in this area.

[Arizona Center for Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility] really want to help...they are just a tad disorganized in their approach...I needed the medication menopur and it was on backorder nationwide. a nurse suggested that I order it from overseas and organized for me to do so which I later found out is ill-advised and dangerous...was on hold for long periods of time and then hung up on and received no return phone call to address my concerns
How was your experience with Timothy Gelety at Arizona Center for Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility?
Dr. Gelety was polite, however, going on the knowledge I have now he did not fully inform me of the risks associated with conceiving with uterine fibroids. He seemed rushed during our initial appointment and my husband, and I did not feel that the amount of time he spent with us was appropriate. Being that we had driven 1.5 hours for our visit we were disappointed to not have had a chance to address all of our questions.
What's one piece of advice would you give a prospective patient of Timothy Gelety at Arizona Center for Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility?
Be specific in your concerns and questions.

Describe your experience with your nurse at Arizona Center for Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility. (Assigned nurse: Savannah)
Savannah was great, compassionate and as informative as she could be. Some front desk staff sometimes came off as aloof but overall kept decent lines of communication.

Describe the specific things that went wrong at Arizona Center for Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility.
Dr. Gelety failed to inform us that conceiving with uterine fibroids would likely lead to a miscarriage. My care coordinator directed, encouraged and arranged for us to purchase menopur from overseas while failing to inform us of the medical and legal dangers of doing so.

[Dr. Mark Johnson] was always late to appointments...belittled the situation of unexplained infertility...should not be giving out false hope...first suggestion was to start on ovulation induction, when I already ovulate on my own...suggested switching from letrozole to clomid, which caused too many follicles and the cycle had to be canceled
[Arizona Center for Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility] Weakness- wait for minimum 30 min in lobby every visit, then wait again longer in the room. Very disorganized. The clinic closed down in Dec 2022, so the only good thing is patients won’t be able to go here anymore.
How was your experience with Mark Johnson at Arizona Center for Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility?
He was always late to appointments. He belittled the situation of unexplained infertility that we have, saying things like, you’ll be pregnant in no time. Or just think, this time next year, you’ll be holding your baby or be pregnant. I thought wow that’s really soon, I must not really have a fertility issue, or not one that can’t be solved easily. Well here we are almost 3 years later and no pregnancy ever occurred. Doctors should not be giving out false hope. Also his first suggestion was to start on ovulation induction, when I already ovulate on my own. So we opted to start at IUI and he did not explain the chances for success and he acted surprised and perplexed when it wasn’t successful. He then suggested switching from letrozole to clomid, which caused too many follicles and the cycle had to be canceled. It was then that we switched clinics.
What's one piece of advice would you give a prospective patient of Mark Johnson at Arizona Center for Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility?
Find other options, especially if you have unexplained infertility.
During treatment, were you treated like a number or a human with Mark Johnson at Arizona Center for Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility?
He was very late to all appointments, and once even told us the reason he was late was he was watching the Space X launch…which launched at the time our appointment was to begin. He also didn’t take the time for our questions. Made comments belittling the unexplained infertility situation, saying things like, you’ll be pregnant in no time. Almost 3 years later and I’ve never been pregnant.
Describe the protocols Mark Johnson used in your cycles at Arizona Center for Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility and their degree of success.
His first suggestion was to start on ovulation induction, when I already ovulate on my own. So we opted to start at IUI and he did not accurately explain the chances for success and he acted surprised and perplexed when it wasn’t successful. He then suggested switching from letrozole to clomid, which caused too many follicles and the cycle had to be canceled. It was then that we switched clinics.
Describe your experience with the nursing staff at Arizona Center for Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility.
This clinic closed down Dec 2022, so the nursing staff isn’t valid anymore.

Describe the specific things that went wrong at Arizona Center for Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility.
The clinic failed to provide an accurate expectation for unexplained infertility and what it would really entail. Also the choice to move from letrozole to clomid was ineffective and caused a cycle to cancel.

I had prior records listing my work up and prior IUIs, he [Dr. Gelety] wasn’t interested in the records. He is very conservative, will not request you to do more interventions to spend money...Appointments are quick or sometimes rushed. I had to frequently remind him of my history...He is very willing to transfer multiple embryos. I transferred 3, 3 day embryos that “looked great” twice. I also transferred 2, 5 day embryos twice. First set were 5As and second were 5Bs and 5 bc.
Billing was a little off and they billed 8 mo the later, it too was not accurate. Easy to set up appointments and call in with questions....This staff are Medical assistants. He does not have nurses. One was very nice, great attitude, and compassionate...Easy to make appointments 90% of the time. Able to get close to a time I was able to come in. Couple times appointments were very limited... office usually runs on time, however sometimes the appointment feels rushed. I rarely felt confident, and felt like we should be adding more treatment options

If your infertility issues are cookie cutter and are know this would be a cost effective way to achieve pregnancy. In my experience is there are unknowns, likely not the best option.

IUI- blood work two times with two ultrasounds. One about day 1-3 of cycle and another around day 12. When ovulation is predicted a semen sample will be obtained and washed. Then it will be inserted into the uterus. Return to the clinic 7 days later for progesterone and 14 days later for HCG. Medications include a ovarian stim his preferred medication is clomid on days 3-5 of the cycle. Ovulation induction Injection, ovidril, about 12 hours prior to iui. Progesterone 24 hours after IUI until a beg HCG, oral pills. Egg retrieval requires a blood work and ultrasound on days 1-3 of cycle. 2-3 more ultrasounds to follow during ovulation stimulating. Injections on days 5-9 to stim the ovaries. Retrial and semen sample the same day. 3 days later embryo transfer. 24 hours later start progesterone injections. Lab work 5-7 days later for progesterone and hcg 10 days later. Frozen transfer is similar to IUI but no ovulation stim. Instead estrogen pills are taken to build the lining around days 3-14. Progesterone injections start 24 hours after embryo transfer.

My referral was messed up, as the clinic said they did it and I didn’t need to do anything further. This was not true and I should have followed what I knew. It was a mess that I had to eventually clear up. Billing was a little off and they billed 8 mo the later, it too was not accurate. Easy to set up appointments and call in with questions.

IUI are 295 if your insurance covers ultrasounds and labs. Egg retrieval and 1st transfer 4900 Embryo transfer 1200 Embryo storage 500 All of these costs do not include ultrasounds and lab work as my insurance covered them.

Dr. Gelety’s strengths that we can see so far... 1. He looks out for you financially. 2. Talks candidly about any questions you bring up. 3. You get to see him at every appointment. Some of Dr. Gelety’s faults... 1. He did not read any of our information before entering the room with us. 2. He can be in a hurry and maybe not seem like he wants you to ask any questions. (He will answer if you do ask though! In a very friendly manner too!)
So far the thing I have learned the most about the clinic [Arizona Center for Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility] is that you have to really advocate for yourself to find out information on what will be expected of you during the IVF process. We live far away from this clinic and communicating with them has been hard. I hope this eases up as we get further along in the cycle but I am prepared to keep advocating and researching due to the low cost of IVF here.

On our very first consult he was nearly an hour late to start our appointment and we had travelled from our of town. Not a single person apologized or informed us on what was going on. BUT once he was in our consultation he was completely invested and very informative.

We are starting IVF treatments this cycle. It looks like I will be using Lupron starting day 21 of my cycle and then starting menopur and an HCG trigger.

Dr Gelety is perhaps more blunt than other doctors, and he will certainly give you a lot of information that can prove somewhat overwhelming, but he approached my issues as if they were a puzzle to be solved and assuaged my worst fears with kindness and understanding... is efficient, which I appreciate, but that means you need to get your thoughts in order before you see him...After another doctor in town misdiagnosed me as pre-menopausal, and after over a year with that other practice, Dr Gelety diagnosed me with endometriosis. We also were able to get my cycles regulated after years of having two periods a month.

Success w/ Doc Too early to know
Dr Gelety isn't the hand holding, sugar coating type but he knows who I am. He is quick but thorough... The initial appointment was long and not rushed. We covered everything. He set very real expectations and steps knowing that we could adjust the course along the way if necessary. I see him at EVERY single appointment whether its just a check in, an ultrasound or an actual procedure. While each appointment is not very long, I feel like everything is covered. I would call him "efficient"
There is one main nurse there [at Arizona Center for Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility]. She is very friendly and caring. She knows our names and is knowledgeable on our case. She follows through quickly and consistently. She takes the time to answer all of our questions and often consults with the doctor to ensure we get the best information. She has been through fertility treatments so I relate and trust what she tells us. It also keeps me more confident through the process.

What's one piece of advice would you give a prospective patient of Timothy Gelety at Arizona Center for Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility?
If you're looking for someone to hold your hand and sugar coat anything then he is not the one for you. He is straightforward and to the point. He is friendly but in a professional doctor way not in a friend or acquaintance way. Also, know that you will see him at every appointment. For me, that builds a lot of confidence and reassurance in the process.
During treatment, were you treated like a number or a human with Timothy Gelety at Arizona Center for Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility?
Dr Gelety isn't the hand holding, sugar coating type but he knows who I am. He is quick but thorough. The staff is very friendly. They also remember everyone that comes in.
Describe the protocols Timothy Gelety used in your cycles at Arizona Center for Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility and their degree of success.
Before starting IVF we did a lap where discovered that i had stage 2 endometriosis. It was shocking that this had never been discovered before after my recurrent miscarriages and fibroids. Once we started IVF we did a cycle of lupron, 9 days of menopur and Novarel as the trigger.

Describe your experience with Arizona Center for Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility.
Strengths: They are efficient. Its a small office so they know every patient and every case. The prices are the lowest anywhere but without sacrificing integrity or taking shortcuts. The staff is friendly and will always follow through on what they say. Little to no wait time. I was able to get into my initial appointment quickly. They answer the phone immediately. Weaknesses: They do not bill directly to insurance for anything other than office visits. So we have to pay out of pocket for blood work and procedures. But the billing coordinator did say they provide everything to make it easy to submit to insurance for reimbursement.
Describe your experience with your monitoring appointments at Arizona Center for Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility.
Monitoring appointments were scheduled like any other appointments. They don't have specific windows for only certain procedures. So we could schedule ultrasound appointments for any day of the week or time. This is because they are all handled by the doctor himself. We traveled 2 hours to see the doctor and found them very flexible to accommodate our schedule.
Describe the costs associated with your care under Timothy Gelety at Arizona Center for Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility.
A round of IVF is about $7k not including medications. We pay $35 for each bloodworm that is done since they do it in office.
Describe Timothy Gelety's approach to eSET (elective single embryo transfer) vs. multiple embryo transfer at Arizona Center for Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility.
We haven't done an embryo transfer yet but he is for a multiple embryo transfer especially due to my age.

Dr. Gelety is well-respected in Tucson and I initially liked him, but as time went on, he became very dismissive to some of my basic questions....Come to find out, Gelety never even did the basic tests to rule out things like thyroid issues, low ovarian reserves, etc. He was pushing IVF hard (which I was fine with and was willing to do), but why should I spend all that money without ensuring any underlying issues have been diagnosed/addressed?
The nurses [at Arizona Center for Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility] are all great...The building itself is great - clean and has recently been updated. His prices are cheaper than at least one other RE in Tucson. Gelety isn't so great when it comes to being patient and answering your questions. If your treatment is going to be pretty straight-forward, then you should be fine seeing him. If you have a lot of issues and want someone to hold your hand the whole time and spends hours with you, Gelety isn't for you.
How was your experience with Timothy Gelety at Arizona Center for Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility?
Dr. Gelety is well-respected in Tucson and I initially liked him, but as time went on, he became very dismissive to some of my basic questions. I was dealing with a cyst that wouldn't go away and his answer was to do another Lap (which I recently had done already). There are other ways to get rid of cysts, none of which were even mentioned to me as options. Instead of suggesting birth control, he immediately suggested I have a Lap procedure. He went from 0 to 60 with no in between options which made me realize I should leave him and get a second opinion elsewhere. I have heard from friends that he pushes Laps which I initially didn't believe, but in the end I witnessed it first-hand.
What's one piece of advice would you give a prospective patient of Timothy Gelety at Arizona Center for Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility?
Make sure Dr. Gelety performs the basic tests in the beginning to rule out things like Thyroid issues, phase defects, etc. Once these are done, make sure he reviews them with you in great detail before he suggests treatment options.
During treatment, were you treated like a number or a human with Timothy Gelety at Arizona Center for Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility?
Everyone I encountered at Gelety's office were incredibly friendly and welcoming. However, as my appointments went on, I felt like I was getting my questions answered and was looked at as just another patient. Any time I'd ask Dr. Gelety a question, he'd respond with "yeah, yeah...we'll look into that later." Come to find out, Gelety never even did the basic tests to rule out things like thyroid issues, low ovarian reserves, etc. He was pushing IVF hard (which I was fine with and was willing to do), but why should I spend all that money without ensuring any underlying issues have been diagnosed/addressed?

I always paid my $40 copay at each appointment which, if it was done, would cover the ultrasound and appointment with the doctor. Blood work was never covered (even though my health insurance covers blood work 100%) and cost $60. His prices for IUI and IVF are extremely reasonable and are much cheaper than at least one other RE in Tucson. Gelety and his staff are pretty firm on not working with your insurance so if you are one of the few who has fertility treatments covered by your health insurance, you will probably have to do all the leg work to get it paid for.

Describe the specific things that went wrong at Arizona Center for Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility.
On one occasion I had blood work done to check my hormones. No one ever called me with the results, nor did they call me back when I left a message inquiring about the results with the receptionist.

We chose multiple embryo transfer because he [Dr. Gelety] suggested that with my age it was recommended...took the time to sit with my wife and I and explain all options, he provided us with literature to read up on. He followed up after hours with us to check on me. He took genuine interest in helping us...We traveled 5 hours to see him and he was worth it. He was very patient and explained everything to us. I had 9 embryos and on my last chance he advised us to wait an extra month because my cycle didn't seem right. We waited and then went in the following month anf got pregnant with our daughter.
The clinic [Arizona Center for Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility] was very nice, clean, and run in an organized manner. The only thing I didn't like was that when it came time to pay they informed me they did ICSI and it was going to be an additional $1,250. Which was fine if it needed to be done but we weren't expecting that...All of the nurses were very friendly and knowledgeable on what was going on. They took the time to explain things. They followed up with us often because we were from out of town.

The doctor [Dr. Gelety] forgot to call me to give me the results of my pregnancy test while we had been patiently waiting all day. We even called befor they closed and they said the doctor would call me later in the evening which did not happen...seemed to care about me and what treatment was best for me... worked with my own cycle and never had me take birth control to control my cycle. He was available whenever I needed him and came in during a holiday to do my retrieval. He seems to do things more old school and my treatment seemed to have a lot less medication than other people going through treatment. He does seem like he is in a hurry often.
The staff [at Arizona Center for Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility] are friendly. The clinic does not have the most up to date quality equipment, but it gets the job done for the reasonable prices. The clinic provides you with a list of services and prices which Intought was helpful...IUI 750 plos $50 trigger shot. I started off with clomid and monitoring cycle. I was able to get pregnant during the 3 round, but had a miscarriage at 18 weeks. Then clomid and IUI with Hcg trigger shot, negative pregnancy test. 1 st round iVF menopur 4 vials 8 days, then trigger shot. Transferred 3 embryos resulted in chemical pregnancy. 2 round IvF double dose of menupor, lupron for 3 days. Hcg trigger shot.

Martha is no longer at the clinic and while she was nice she often got confused and told me the wrong time to do my trigger shot. All turned out well, but could of cost me big.

IUI 750 plos $50 trigger shot. IVF 7500 plus ICSI was 1,000. We got most of the medication in Mexico costing 1,200. Office visits were $50 copay, blood work $50 each time I believe.
Describe Timothy Gelety's approach to eSET (elective single embryo transfer) vs. multiple embryo transfer at Arizona Center for Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility.
I think that the doctor has a lot of experience, so I was comfortable with him suggestion the number of embryos to transfer. For me it was 3 each time.

Dr Gelety himself seemed like a confident, caring guy. He was just always so rushed I never had time to ask him all my questions, and a lot of times left frustrated and confused. He definitely knows what he is doing, the communication just isn't always there. I felt I was treated much better after I got pregnant. I did like that he gives out his personal cell number, and I called him a few times when I had urgent problems and he always called right back.
The office was always very busy, and I didn't see Dr Gelety himself for appointment until after my first IVF cycle. High employee turnover, long wait times. Always felt very rushed. The embryologist seemed really good and nice. Also the clinic prices were very affordable comparatively speaking....Marta [nurse at Arizona Center for Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility] was not very good at communicating, and I felt like she didn't always listen to my questions/concerns.

For fresh cycles, Dr Gelety put me on birth control for a month, then I did Lupron injections to suppress my ovaries for 2-3 weeks. Menopur was used to stimulate follicle/egg development, trigger shot before egg retrieval, and progesterone in oil injections were started around transfer time. Frozen cycles were easier. Provera for 10 days to induce a period if needed, then estradiol pills to build uterine lining for 2-3 weeks. Progesterone in oil shots started around transfer time.

He [Dr. Timothy Gelety] was a nice doctor, but we felt like it was a blue light special. We did see him every time but I always had to go home and research what the next step should be and he wasn't doing that. I would ask question and I just felt like he wanted to get us through everything and get our money and then move on to the next person. His bedside manner is not the best but that doesn't mean much to me. I want to know and understand what the next steps are and what we can do to help improve things. He wasn't the right doctor for me.
We did IVF [at AZ Center for Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility]. We got our medicine from England and it was a regular cycle. It wasn't much different then my other IVF cycles, but he only grew them to 3 days and told us they looked great.... I did have to call them a lot to get more information and they were not the best at calling back. Things could have changed and I hope they have changed in the 7 years since we went. I did like that I saw the doctor every time I went.

Dr. Gelety is right to the point and I appreciate that...is hyper focused on your progesterone one of the key factors for limiting the risk of a miscarriage...He is very clear with his treatment plan he talks quick so ask questions to clarify...he is factual and he doesn’t sugarcoat what’s happening. After our IUIs and positive preg test, he is the one to call you and share the news good or bad...
Dr. Geletys team [Arizona Center for Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility] is amazing!! They care so much and get so invested. From the ultrasounds to lab draws they pay attention to every case...The clinic is fast pace but that does not mean the team doesn’t care!! Dr. Gelety has reason for all methods and he focuses on timing of ovulation or egg retrievals...He is completely trustworthy during the entire journey and is hyper focused on your progesterone one of the key factors for limiting the risk of a miscarriage.
How was your experience with Timothy Gelety at Arizona Center for Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility?
Dr. Gelety is right to the point and I appreciate that. At a previous clinic I had to wait three months for this then wait longer for that. I explained my frustration to Dr. G and he understood and didn’t agree with me waiting X amount of months. He had full confidence that he could help us!
What's one piece of advice would you give a prospective patient of Timothy Gelety at Arizona Center for Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility?
Dr. Gelety is a genius he is factual and he doesn’t sugarcoat what’s happening. After our IUIs and positive preg test, he is the one to call you and share the news good or bad. And I appreciate that! When our transferred failed he was just as sad. You don’t see that with doctors now a days.
During treatment, were you treated like a number or a human with Timothy Gelety at Arizona Center for Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility?
Dr. Gelety was our second opinion and he was fully invested in helping us become pregnant. He knew what needed to be done to get us there, we just had to start treatments.
Describe your experience with the nursing staff at Arizona Center for Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility.
Dr. Geletys team is amazing!! They care so much and get so invested. From the ultrasounds to lab draws they pay attention to every case!
Describe your experience with Arizona Center for Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility.
The clinic is fast pace but that does not mean the team doesn’t care!! Dr. Gelety has reason for all methods and he focuses on timing of ovulation or egg retrievals. He is very clear with his treatment plan he talks quick so ask questions to clarify. He does appreciate that!! We are 14wks pregnant with our first thanks to Dr. G. He is completely trustworthy during the entire journey and is hyper focused on your progesterone one of the key factors for limiting the risk of a miscarriage.
Describe the costs associated with your care under Timothy Gelety at Arizona Center for Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility.
We were very fortunate to have great health insurance coverage.

Dr Gelety isn’t overly friendly and his bed side manner could improve, but I never had a negative experience with him. He laid out multiple options for us and allowed us to choose what course of action we wanted to take. He also always gave options of where we would like to go next...He doesn’t take extra time with you unless it’s necessary, but he does care about you 100%. He’s a little socially awkward, which was a quirk I kind of liked in him.
Approximately $5,500 for IVF, $1,200 for ICSI, $475 for egg freezing [at Arizona Center for Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility]...I made a family in this office. It felt warm and open every time I entered. It was genuinely a good fit for me and my husband. We had to travel for our appointments and they made sure it was easy for us to do what we could in our hometown rather than traveling.

We did 2 IUIs with Femara and a trigger shot. We then did Lupron 20units followed by 5units, Menopur 4 vials for 9 days, HCG 10,000 trigger, and then progesterone in oil for our IVF cycle. We did retrieval with a fresh embryo transfer using 3 day embryos.

Dr Gelety left the option up to us, letting us know that one embryo was about a 20% success rate and two was about a 50% success rate. Ultimately, he did whatever we wanted to do though.

I’m young so we started out with clomid then femera then iui and now we are working on ivf [with Dr. Gelety]...I feel like he doesn’t have the best bed side manner but he has the same goals as I do. He try’s to be very thorough and make sure you know your plan but he moves quickly so sometimes I’m still left with questions . My labs had gotten mixed up and now I don’t trust him as much...Make him take the time to explain everything to you .
I love the nurses [at Arizona Center for Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility] they are so supportive and caring . Sometimes they can not help answer my questions though...Cost is very affordable , most things are very cheap compared to other centers...The clinic is small and a little outdated but the lab and the rooms are clean and organized . Typically they are really quick at moving you into the rooms so the waiting room is typically empty . The front desk staff welcome you

Very responsive to my questions and never let me feel like I wasn't getting the full story. Amazing bedside manner and skilled in the field. He [Dr. Gelety] immediately diagnosed my need for laparoscopic surgery to treat endometriosis and let me feel like the ball was always in my court....During the first round of IVF my number rose slowly and the number of mature eggs at retrieval was low. During the second round of IVF my numbers were more closely monitored and meds were extended there extra day resulting in 3 times the amount of mature eggs. Transfered fresh again, then two FET cycles. No pregnancies
Ask all the questions you have, they [AZ Ctr for Reproductive Endocrinology] will get back to you! I always felt like I could call and talk to anyone and get the answers I needed which is huge in this process. The clinic even opened on holidays to see me... Fresh round of IVF not including meds was $3700 for monitoring and retrieval and then $1200 for transfer and $500 for freezing... As a patient that has been through multiple cycles he [Dr. Timothy Gelety] was very knowledgable and presented us with all of our options ahead of time. He was thorough and if we had any questions he answered them. Unfortunately, our cycle ended in a miscarriage, but he was prompt in the situation and living over five hours away he called me and comforted me over the phone and fit me in immediately as soon as I could get to the clinic.
The clinic [Arizona Center for Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility] was organized and prompt with calls back regarding any questions we had. The nursing team and receptionist helped us coordinate shipping our frozen embryos from another facility out of state and kept us up to date throughout the process...The nursing staff was also fantastic and compassionate with our situation and were always prompt in returning calls and answering questions.

De. Gelety was a breath of fresh air...took the time to explain treatment in detail from beginning to end...removed both of my tubes due to bilateral hydrosalpinx...encouraged me throughout the process and kept me in good spirits. He was able to get a lot more eggs with his protocol than my previous protocol. Because of my previous history he was able to put back 3 embryos which was amazing. He was empathetic when I received my negative results.
[At Arizona Center for Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility] had a few issues with billing but it was just some miscommunication which was resolved...appointments were quick...was clean and the staff were friendly...always greeted me with a smile and got me in quickly...can do multiple embryo transfers for those that need it.

He removed both of my tubes due to bilateral hydrosalpinx before I began treatment so I could have the best shot. He encouraged me throughout the process and kept me in good spirits. I was on the antagonist protocoI believe. It wasn’t as much medicine or shots as before which was amazing and I produced more eggs, although a lot were immature. He goes with the flow of your natural cycle and the timing of everything seemed perfect from meds to retrieval to transfer everything seemed to go as planned.

It was 5900 for the package and to add icsi it was 1,200 more. We paid for meds out of pocket. I also had some left over from a previous cycle. They did provide the trigger shot at the office for a fee which was convenient. It was 150.00. The prices were very reasonable.
