This is the most recent data from the CDC. The CDC cautions that it should not be used to compare doctors and clinics. This data represents the outcomes of IVF cycles when using a person's own eggs.
For more information please see our FAQs.
Where you see a “?” on the chart, a clinic has done fewer than 20 cycles in this category and age range, so the CDC says showing percentages from this small data set would be misleading and unreliable.
He [Dr. Drew Moffitt] is a very dry person. He did not seem to speak much to me as a patient except at the consultation. He has a tendency to jump into things without giving you a simplified version. He is good at what he does though and maximized my egg retrival. Towards my egg retrieval day he was extremely friendly and had more of a helpful and excited tone... He wasn't very talkative and just did what he had to do, though, he always remembered my name.
The nursing staff [at AZ Reproductive Medicine Specialists] is amazing. My questions were usually answered through them. They were kind and usually remembered who I was. Cynthia remembered which arm for blood drawing and gave me tips on how to keep my blood flowing.... If you like to be walked through everything or have everything explained to you, he might not be the right doctor.

Describe Drew Moffitt's approach to eSET (elective single embryo transfer) vs. multiple embryo transfer at Arizona Reproductive Medicine Specialists.
I like the fact that he likes to transfer two embryos.
Dr Moffit seemed very well informed and I was confident in his abilities. He took a lot of time with us in our initial appointments and I felt that I could trust his recommendations. He was nice but not overly friendly....Didn't really have any kind of relationship or connection with the doctor or staff. It felt more like a process of checking boxes and following directions on a piece of paper rather than having felt like I was well informed and having people guide me through the process.

And maybe that's because it was such an overwhelming process for me and I didn't really know what to say or ask....[Nurses] They were wonderful and seemed to genuinely care about me and the practice.

Describe Drew Moffitt's approach to eSET (elective single embryo transfer) vs. multiple embryo transfer at Arizona Reproductive Medicine Specialists.
Dr Moffit strongly recommended a singleton transfer in my case. He was informative and I felt he knew what was best in my situation and I did not worry I was making the wrong decision in just transferring one embryo.
He is a kind helpful man who in the end helped us have a family. Dr Moffitt helped us more then we could ever explain and we will come back again with number two. He was very knowledgeable and understanding that we had questions and needed help finding the answers. He was rarely late and always had general hands...He always listened and made us feel welcomed in the office [ARMS]. We were new to a diagnosis and new to feeling the pain of losing a child. He never once made me feel rushed and always had me leave feeling full of information

I love how Dr moffitt let me explain what my needs were. He listened to my concerns and let us decide things about our treatments. He also told me exactly what to expect...Dr moffitt let us transfer 2 both times.

Describe Drew Moffitt's approach to eSET (elective single embryo transfer) vs. multiple embryo transfer at Arizona Reproductive Medicine Specialists.
Dr. Moffitt was very knowledgeable & experienced in the field...gave me honest & realistic expectations...always allowed me to choose the path which I felt comfortable with...conscious about costs & tries to make the process affordable to his patients...got 9 transferable embryos & the second transfer resulted in our daughter
ARMS had a fresh in-house donor egg program...my nurse Teana...was very intelligent & remembered details even when there was a time gap between procedures...Weaknesses is that it’s a high volume clinic which means you will use the portal to communicate instead of the phone
How was your experience with Drew Moffitt at Arizona Reproductive Medicine Specialists?
Dr. Moffitt was very knowledgeable & experienced in the field. He gave me honest & realistic expectations but ultimately always allowed me to choose the path which I felt comfortable with. He was conscious about costs & tries to make the process affordable to his patients. He’s by far one of the most ethical doctors in the field.
What's one piece of advice would you give a prospective patient of Drew Moffitt at Arizona Reproductive Medicine Specialists?
With IVF, there’s going to be disappointments so expect it & roll with the punches. At times, I felt hopeless but kept faith in the process & had confidence with Dr. Moffitt. I’m so glad I did because our daughter is due in March!
During treatment, were you treated like a number or a human with Drew Moffitt at Arizona Reproductive Medicine Specialists?
Dr. Moffitt was very kind & understanding. When there was bad news, he always took the time to personally call me even if that meant working later hours for him. He also gave us an emergency number to reach him which I used once after forgetting to trigger on time. The nursing staff preferred communicating through the portal but always replied by the end of the day which has become pretty standard in higher volume clinics that are affordable & I had no issues.
Describe the protocols Drew Moffitt used in your cycles at Arizona Reproductive Medicine Specialists and their degree of success.
I did 2 cycles of mini IVF & 2 cycles of optimal IVF which were unsuccessful due to my age. Then I decided to purchase 4 frozen donor eggs from Cryos bank which was also unsuccessful. ARMS had a fresh in-house donor egg program so I tried a shared cycle & got 9 transferable embryos & the second transfer resulted in our daughter.
Describe your experience with your nurse at Arizona Reproductive Medicine Specialists. (Assigned nurse: Teana)
I was there because of Dr. Moffitt but took a liking to my nurse Teana. I’m 46, therefore success using my own eggs was extremely low, like less than 1%. She was funny always making sure I understood which I did but still wanted to keep trying until my insurance ran out just incase. She was very intelligent & remembered details even when there was a time gap between procedures. She always responded to my messages by the end of the day.
Describe your experience with Arizona Reproductive Medicine Specialists.
Strengths is that Dr. Moffitt is very skilled at his profession and always conscious about costs & tries to make the process affordable to his patients. This clinic has competitive prices to CNY. They offer mini IVF which is extremely affordable especially for woman my age that have lower chances of success but still want to try. They also have the most reasonable in-house donor egg program I’ve found which offers shared & guaranteed cycles.
Weaknesses is that it’s a high volume clinic which means you will use the portal to communicate instead of the phone. I was fine with it because when I needed the nurse to call me, I’d just send a message in the portal & she’d call at the beginning or end of every day.
Describe your experience with your monitoring appointments at Arizona Reproductive Medicine Specialists.
I live in North Dakota & did blood draws here as needed. We flew to Arizona the week of the retrials & went in every morning to measure the follicles until I was ready to trigger.
Describe the costs associated with your care under Drew Moffitt at Arizona Reproductive Medicine Specialists.
My insurance paid for the egg retrievals using own eggs so I’m not exactly sure but I know they charged by the procedure, not cycle. I think it was around $2,800- $3,000 per retrieval?
We paid $20,000 for the shared fresh donor egg cycle which included embryo creation & transfer. We ended up with 15 eggs & 9 embryos.
We paid $3,000 for the transfer using frozen donor eggs from an outside egg bank.
Describe Drew Moffitt's approach to eSET (elective single embryo transfer) vs. multiple embryo transfer at Arizona Reproductive Medicine Specialists.
This wasn’t discussed because I used a surrogate who wanted to transfer only tested euploid embryos & specified in our surrogacy contract to only do single embryo transfers.
What specific things went wrong at Arizona Reproductive Medicine Specialists?
Canceled a cycle due to clinic error
Describe the specific things that went wrong at Arizona Reproductive Medicine Specialists.
I don’t think things went wrong I think it was just trial and error. Our surrogate responded better to the progesterone shots over the oral pill.
Dr Moffitt seems very knowledgeable and honest. He did not pressure us into treatment or mislead us regarding outcomes during initial consultation. Dr Moffitt knows specific statistics and was fairly patient and generous with his time during initial consultation. The rest of the time he is generally not in the picture, however. Also he really doesn’t have much of a bedside manner at all and I always felt rushed if I actually got to speak with him.
[Arizona Reproductive Medicine Specialists] Scheduling isn’t very organized but timing is fairly flexible for many appointments and on certain days for some procedures you can choose which office you want to go to (Gilbert or Phoenix). The process of scheduling is pretty simple and can be done on the phone. Visits are formal and you feel like a number as you are directed from one waiting area to another and then to treatment/assessment areas when it is your turn.

What's one piece of advice would you give a prospective patient of Drew Moffitt at Arizona Reproductive Medicine Specialists?
Don’t expect direct involvement of Dr Moffitt during the process. Get your questions answered initially during consultation appointment and write down the answers. He does personally perform the embryo retrieval and transfers but otherwise I didn’t see him.
During treatment, were you treated like a number or a human with Drew Moffitt at Arizona Reproductive Medicine Specialists?
I felt like a number because it was hard to get in contact with clinical questions. I was always directed to use the patient portal and though sometimes responses were timely, some were delayed and a couple times I did not receive a response.
I was given protocols that seemed standardized as instructions that were not explained or barely explained. I wasn’t taught about the process or how I could help or hinder it through lifestyle (other than avoiding caffeine and antihistamines). When I had questions regarding supplements, for example, I had a nurse give me a response based on what Google said. I don’t know if she even asked the doctor. Another nurse provided lots of reassurance that we would have successful outcomes and not have to go through 3 or more EFTs. Later I found out she wasn’t aware of my age and had given these reassurances based on my appearing younger than I am.
McKenna M.A., the ultrasound technicians and the nurse anesthesiologist were very kind, responsive and treated me like a person as did MAs for the most part.
Describe the protocols Drew Moffitt used in your cycles at Arizona Reproductive Medicine Specialists and their degree of success.
Birth control pills prior to starting egg retrieval process. 2 different kinds of injections and injection of hcg the night before retrieval. CoQ10, folic acid and DHE taken during the preparation for egg retrieval as well. No NSAIDS, antihistamines or caffeine allowed.
Describe your experience with your nurse at Arizona Reproductive Medicine Specialists. (Assigned nurse: Angela)
The Medical Assistants, which I saw at each appointment were pretty kind and compassionate, especially McKenna. The nurses weren’t very organized or accessible. Communication was mostly restricted to the patient portal and sometimes the nurse didn’t even bother to use capitalization, punctuation or end her responses with her name. Sometimes only part of my question was answered. Once a nurse thought I had been on birth control, but didn’t tell me I should be taking it and it was never called into the pharmacy. I was given false reassurances without basis other than what the nurse thought was my age.

Describe the costs associated with your care under Drew Moffitt at Arizona Reproductive Medicine Specialists.
$1500 per frozen embryo transfer $1800 for testing for endometriosis and I don’t remember the initial costs for the egg retrieval process. Some of the monitoring appointments for bloodwork especially were covered by my insurance.
Describe Drew Moffitt's approach to eSET (elective single embryo transfer) vs. multiple embryo transfer at Arizona Reproductive Medicine Specialists.
While Dr Moffitt does allow for transfer of multiple embryos he has very specific age and clinical criteria regarding how many he will allow. He focuses on the risks to the pregnancy and possible negative outcomes if a multiple pregnancy should result and discourages transfer of more than one embryo. We did transfer 2 for each of our frozen embryo transfers so far, however. (No success)
What specific things went wrong at Arizona Reproductive Medicine Specialists?
Dr. Moffit took the time to outline realistic expectations for my IVF. I am 36 and he made sure I knew what risks were involved. While I actually exceeded expectations for my retrieval I did miscarry. Dr. Moffit stayed in communication with me throughout and had me come in for bloodwork and ultrasounds and outlined what we could do going forward. Even though it was hard for me, he made me feel like it would be OK and I still had a chance later...is very blunt when it comes to expectations, he is not just looking for your money. He is realistic and will tell you exactly how he feels about test results which is unbelievably helpful in the decision making process.
[ARMS] is a small well organized clinic. Dr. Moffit does not schedule more patients then he can handle and you are always made to feel like a priority. The staff make you feel like family and there is a genuine interest on you and whats going on...Everyone knew me by name and when I called or emailed they got back to me right away and always made me feel like even the silliest question was an important one...My care coordinator and I emailed constantly and she always made sure I was informed. All of the nursing staff greeted me with a smile and held real conversations with me. They were always friendly and willing to listen

We paid cash for our care and were informed of all costs prior. We were told about finance options that may be available. Dr. Moffit does discount services for State Employees, Military, etc.
Describe Drew Moffitt's approach to eSET (elective single embryo transfer) vs. multiple embryo transfer at Arizona Reproductive Medicine Specialists.
Dr. Moffit and his team really want a healthy pregnancy for mom and baby and prefer single embryo transfer to multiple unless medically necessary to do more.
everytime we saw Dr.Moffitt visits seemed rushed and his manners weren't all that great...He is not a warm provider at all, has never really acknowledged my husband when hes with me and he barely even says hi. He is very knowledgeable and i trust his medical decisions because you can tell he does his research but bedside manners are not so great...If you are looking for a doctor to hold your hand search elsewhere...Protocols are much different than i have had in the past but he is very research based which i liked. Most of the time he would reference certain research studies to let me know why he was making a certain decision for my care. Im not so sure protocols are individualized.
Nurse
The nurses [at ARMS] were very organized there are only two at the practice i am seen but i usually heard back fron them fairly quickly after leaving a message. But it is also hard to never get through directly to a nurse always had to leave a message and wait for a phone call...the cost for treatments is much more affordable than other places but there are many unexpected costs for labwork, nd other testing. Usually i would be quoted on one amount but then i would recieve bills for other amounts...Everyone is really nice but they are very busy so it doesnt seem like the provider to patient or nurse to patient connection will ever occur there like i had in other clinics.

Describe Drew Moffitt's approach to eSET (elective single embryo transfer) vs. multiple embryo transfer at Arizona Reproductive Medicine Specialists.
He only does eset, you have to sign an AMA (against medical advice)waiver if you want more than one transferred.
He [Dr. Moffitt] never seemed to remember who I was. My case was a little unique and it was clear going through my story multiple times that he didn't remember having the conversation before... I'd been to two other offices and felt completely at home and that they were personally invested in my conceiving and did not feel that way with Dr. Moffitt. However, I had success with Dr. Moffitt and not the other offices. He does stay abreast of new techniques and ideas and was willing to work with me on making a plan. He was also frank with when we were doing something that had a sound basis and when he was just guessing.
Without Tabitha [nurse at ARMS], I probably would not have stuck with this office. She is great and seems to be the glue for the office. She is who I went to when I had questions and she was prompt with complete answers...The office has a chart for how many embryos they will transfer based on age and quality of the embryos...communication between staff members is not great. Sometimes there are residents, which you may or may not be informed about before there is a random stranger in the room for your transvaginal ultrasound. It has not been updated in quite some time, but I think that helps keep the costs down.

The largest costs have been the medications. I believe the egg retrieval was around $4000.
Describe Drew Moffitt's approach to eSET (elective single embryo transfer) vs. multiple embryo transfer at Arizona Reproductive Medicine Specialists.
The office has a chart for how many embryos they will transfer based on age and quality of the embryos.
He [Dr. Moffitt] allowed a double but suggested a single [embryo transfer]...He was knowledgeable but blunt. He did not take suggestions from me well and wanted to stick to his same protocol. He allowed a dual embryo transfer after we signed an against medical advice form but recommended a single...Birth control for 6 days, 450 units of FSH and then cetritite once follicles hit a certain point. Stayed on stims for almost two weeks before trigger shot and retrieval. The office does freeze only with frozen transfers.
Ultrasound rooms [at ARMS] have two connected bathrooms. You get put in one and asked to get undressed from waist down. When you hear a knock on the door, you walk to the table and get on while the doctor and nurse are in the room and the last patient was put back in the other bathroom to get dressed. The doctor went from patient to patient with little time in between...We were assigned a primary nurse but that person changed during our treatment. They were knowledgeable and nice. One nurse drew blood perfectly but the others struggled with me... once, it took 9 sticks and the anesthesiologist to draw my blood.

Describe the costs associated with your care under Drew Moffitt at Arizona Reproductive Medicine Specialists.
Base IVF price was $5500 plus ICSI was another $2000. PGS was not recommended. Anastesia and cryo were extra.
Describe Drew Moffitt's approach to eSET (elective single embryo transfer) vs. multiple embryo transfer at Arizona Reproductive Medicine Specialists.
Dr Moffitt provided good information, but also omitted information that I feel would have helped me make better informed decisions. He however was responsive to my concerns and had regulated lab procedures that were not being followed by phlebotomists fixed when I brought them to his attention. He provided his cell phone so I could call him directly if needed...Drew was a straight shooter, but I felt like his bedside manner was lacking a bit. If a patient is looking for a lot of hand holding, this may not be the doctor for them.
Employees [at ARMS] sometimes argued in front of patients. Phlebotomists did not label vials in front of patient until I brought that to Dr Moffitt 'a attention. Scheduling was easy. Wait time was very low...I felt like the written protocol was confusing and hard to follow. Sometimes Tabitha took longer to respond to me via email and voice mail than expected. When my husband expressed to her that I was feeling lost and like they didn't care, she stepped up her game and was much more responsive. Whenever o dealt with Gail she was amazing.
How was your experience with Drew Moffitt at Arizona Reproductive Medicine Specialists?
Drew was a straight shooter, but I felt like his bedside manner was lacking a bit. If a patient is looking for a lot of hand holding, this may not be the doctor for them. Ultimately I had a positive pregnancy test with my first FET and we got more eggs than he expected, so I'm overall satisfied. He also responded to my calls and texts after hours and on weekends. I just always felt like a nuisance when contacting him directly. I suppose that's my own issue.
What's one piece of advice would you give a prospective patient of Drew Moffitt at Arizona Reproductive Medicine Specialists?
Do research in advance so you know what questions to ask as you may not be fully informed when leaving the office.

He provided his cell phone so I could call him directly if needed. I felt like the nurses sometime took a bit too long to respond, but that could have just been from IVF induced anxiety.
Describe the protocols Drew Moffitt used in your cycles at Arizona Reproductive Medicine Specialists and their degree of success.
Age 38. For egg retrieval 900iu of Follistim. Lupron instead of birth control due to prior DVT. hCG. Vitamin D (6,000 IU), prenatal, Qoq10, and DHEA (25mg, 3x daily).
For FET, started with progesterone lozenges (200mg, 3x daily) and Endometrum suppositories (100mg, 3x daily). 2 Estradiol patches replaced every other day. Progesterone was only 39.4 day before transfer and he wanted it at 40, so added oral progesterone capsules (200mg, 3x daily).
Describe your experience with your nurse at Arizona Reproductive Medicine Specialists. (Assigned nurse: Tabitha)
I felt like the written protocol was confusing and hard to follow. Sometimes Tabitha took longer to respond to me via email and voice mail than expected. When my husband expressed to her that I was feeling lost and like they didn't care, she stepped up her game and was much more responsive. Whenever o dealt with Gail she was amazing.
Describe your experience with Arizona Reproductive Medicine Specialists.
Employees sometimes argued in front of patients. Phlebotomists did not label vials in front of patient until I brought that to Dr Moffitt 'a attention.
Scheduling was easy. Wait time was very low.
Describe the costs associated with your care under Drew Moffitt at Arizona Reproductive Medicine Specialists.
Insurance paid everything after I met my out of pocket max of $5,000.
Describe Drew Moffitt's approach to eSET (elective single embryo transfer) vs. multiple embryo transfer at Arizona Reproductive Medicine Specialists.
Dr highly encouraged eSET.

Doctor knew I had prior DVT and prescribed contradictory medication. Corrected it once in brought to attention. Dr failed to review results from ReproSource with me, which may have influenced my decision to use donor eggs.
Sometimes he [Dr. Moffitt] was spot on, helpful, remembered who I am, thoughtful in his delivery of information. Other times, it's like he didn't even read the chart before coming in to see me...His bedside manner could use some work and there's an issue with being consistent in how he treats you...we asked a lot of questions and at least half the time were blown off with "that's really not necessary to answer" or something similar...Nothing in the process is fully explained up front in a manner that is easy to understand.
There were a lot of additional costs that aren't covered in the initial financial visit [at ARMS]. It's hard to access how much funding you need if they don't give you a complete picture of what may be needed and the costs associated with those procedures. The person who handles the billing is probably the most unhelpful person in the entire office. If your insurance covers anything, you will need to tell her how to code it to be covered. They forget to tell you that medication is typically covered by insurance after you become pregnant, so make sure you check your insurance and get the pre-authorization sent to the clinic by your pharmacy...They communicate a lot as long as you're asking questions. It can be extremely difficult to get a hold of them. There isn't a lot of communication that starts from their end.
How was your experience with Drew Moffitt at Arizona Reproductive Medicine Specialists?
His bedside manner could use some work and there's an issue with being consistent in how he treats you. Yes, patients on hormones are intense and/or emotional. The IVF process is hard to go through. Just a bit more sympathy would go a long way. Also, we asked a lot of questions and at least half the time were blown off with "that's really not necessary to answer" or something similar. Maybe it's not something to him because he knows but it's our first time, so we have a lot of questions that should be answered, silly or not.
What's one piece of advice would you give a prospective patient of Drew Moffitt at Arizona Reproductive Medicine Specialists?
Nice guy, good at his job, but don't expect any sort of coddling.
During treatment, were you treated like a number or a human with Drew Moffitt at Arizona Reproductive Medicine Specialists?
Sometimes he was spot on, helpful, remembered who I am, thoughtful in his delivery of information. Other times, it's like he didn't even read the chart before coming in to see me. I know that all doctors have lots of patients but I want to be treated like the unique person I am.
Describe the protocols Drew Moffitt used in your cycles at Arizona Reproductive Medicine Specialists and their degree of success.
The egg retrieval was done very smoothly. I didn't initially have enough of one medication and then I ended up with too much of a different medication. But the appointments went smoothly and the instructions for doing the injections was easy enough. I produced a lot of eggs but when they reduce by half each step of the process, I didn't end of with many viable embryos.

Nothing in the process is fully explained up front in a manner that is easy to understand. I know it's complicated but pretend that I know nothing because I really didn't. There were a lot of additional costs that aren't covered in the initial financial visit. It's hard to access how much funding you need if they don't give you a complete picture of what may be needed and the costs associated with those procedures. The person who handles the billing is probably the most unhelpful person in the entire office. If your insurance covers anything, you will need to tell her how to code it to be covered. They forget to tell you that medication is typically covered by insurance after you become pregnant, so make sure you check your insurance and get the pre-authorization sent to the clinic by your pharmacy. The appointments usually start more or less on time.
Describe the costs associated with your care under Drew Moffitt at Arizona Reproductive Medicine Specialists.
I believe in total between care & medications, I have spent somewhere near $20,000.00.
Describe Drew Moffitt's approach to eSET (elective single embryo transfer) vs. multiple embryo transfer at Arizona Reproductive Medicine Specialists.
He prefers single transfer as often as possible. We forced his hand on a double transfer and he will not transfer more than two embryos at a time.

Describe the specific things that went wrong at Arizona Reproductive Medicine Specialists.
Just lack of communication when you're waiting for results or a call. It doesn't always happen in the time frame that they say it will.
He [Dr. Moffitt] calls me personally to check and schedule appointments rather than the secretary. You can tell he really cares.... He had strong morals and I like that about him. His whole goal to to create families so he is very cafefull when discussing the “is it me or him?”. Rather than thinking that, he says that whatever the problem is... it is something that the couple goes through unitedly. He will help in anyway he can to get schedules to work out.
The clinic [ARMS- Phoenix] can schedule you in on short notice which is nice. Also, they work hard to make sure you know all the financial information before you undergo any treatment.... The nurses are so sweet and I don’t feel anxious or embarrassed around them... The clinic gave me a prescription that was conflicting and my date of birth was wrong so when I went to the pharmacy to submit the prescription they declined it and by that time the office was closed, so I had to wait until the next business day to get everything straightened out with the clinic.

The only thing I would say is to make sure you know what your insurance does and does not cover but honestly this advice goes for any clinic you decide to attend. The clinic can schedule you in on short notice which is nice. Also, they work hard to make sure you know all the financial information before you undergo any treatment.

I wasnt a fan of Dr. Moffitt’s demeanor. He kicked back, crossed his legs tapping a pen on his chin. I felt spoken down to.... I was uncomfortable with my consultation. He did some blood work to see my ovarian reserve and I felt he was beating around the bush when giving me results. I felt judged being 25 and unmarried. He was pushy that IVF was my only option... He also told me to be sure I’m going to marry the guy I’m with before starting treatment which I don’t think a doctor should say.
I’m not sure if the Gilbert location [ARMS] is just understaffed or what it is but it’s not cozy or welcoming at all. It’s a hole in the wall doctor office. Not being comfortable with the doctor you are trusting to build a family is crucial and I didn’t feel this way at this clinic.... I was told my ovarian assessment would take about 48 to 72 hours. I had to call 4 days later for results which they had me schedule an appointment for the following week to review.

I was uncomfortable with my consultation. He did some blood work to see my ovarian reserve and I felt he was beating around the bush when giving me results. I felt judged being 25 and unmarried. He was pushy that IVF was my only option (which it wasn’t since I have a beautiful daughter from a clomid ministim provided at another fertility clinic). He also told me to be sure I’m going to marry the guy I’m with before starting treatment which I don’t think a doctor should say.

I never saw nursing staff (at Gilbert location) except to take my blood. There was one girl at the desk who didn’t sit there all the time so you may arrive and not check in since no one is there.

I seldom saw Dr. Johnson himself: more often I saw one of his nurses, as they performed nearly all ultrasounds and even the IUIs. When I actually saw Dr. Johnson, he was very kind and knowledgeable and had a good bedside manner... I understand that he and his wife also required IVF to conceive, so I believe that gives him a greater understanding of what his patients are going through.
Dr. Johnson [at ARMS] always runs behind schedule, sometimes significantly so, so plan accordingly... I was supposed to get my first ultrasound confirming pregnancy there during my donor egg IVF cycle -- they were my monitoring clinic because we cycled out of state - and they made an error in scheduling the ultrasound appointment.
How was your experience with Mark Johnson at Arizona Reproductive Medicine Specialists?
Dr. Johnson is kind and compassionate. He is very smart in an absent-minded professor sort of way. I understand that he and his wife also required IVF to conceive, so I believe that gives him a greater understanding of what his patients are going through.

Describe the protocols Mark Johnson used in your cycles at Arizona Reproductive Medicine Specialists and their degree of success.
We started with Clomid only, then moved to Clomid plus IUI and added Follistim after two cycles.
After six failed treatment cycles, IVF was recommended, but we chose not to move forward with IVF using my eggs because the only explanation Dr. Johnson ever gave for our unexplained infertility was that I must have "old eggs" and because the success rates for women in my age range doing IVF at his clinic were low.
Describe the costs associated with your care under Mark Johnson at Arizona Reproductive Medicine Specialists.
I honestly don't remember precisely. I think our insurance paid for a portion of the first three IUIs and then we had to pay out of pocket 100% after that

Dr. Moffitt is very good at what he does and I felt very comfortable going to his office. His strengths are his knowledge and understanding. He was available to me whenever I had a question about treatment and next steps. I would have liked to have been communicated with even more, as the whole process was new and I didn't always know what to expect.

[Dr. Drew Moffitt] Was direct, gave short but understandable explanations, could have been “warmer” in overall tone and bedside manner...Does not do much chatter/banter which I appreciate- prefer to make appointments quick but informative. With that being said he does not go out of his way to be overly friendly or positive- just states the facts...Be prepared for clear, direct interactions, nothing more....
[Arizona Reproductive Medicine Specialists] Easy parking, right off freeway, clean and organized. FT front desk person so you check in with the same assistant each visit. Overall, perfectly fine, nothing wrong but nothing that stands out as amazing or noteworthy...[nurses are] Professional, patient, respond to calls left on nurse line quickly...Basic testing (baseline ultra 200-300, HSG 150-200)...IUI (SA and procedure) around 1000 IVF is 10k, they offer discount for state employees and military.

Unexplained infertility- did Femara 3 cycles with increasing dosage each time. Tried IUI with Femara- unsuccessful. Given unexplained diagnosis and poor success rates of IUI, we are moving on to IVF due to better success rates and good ovarian reserve.

He [Dr. Drew Moffitt] has his own protocol and will not change anything at all when it does not work for you. He refused to add certain medications and all my retrievals where pretty much the same...He could not keep my information correctly, after a failed FET he suggested a ERA which we had done already. During one US he asked if I had a ovary, which coming from a physician who has performed several egg retrievals, this was upsetting.
This office [ARMS] is nice but if you are looking for a doctor to work with you and help make changes in protocol this will not be the case with Dr. Moffitt.
