This is the most recent data from the CDC. The CDC cautions that it should not be used to compare doctors and clinics. This data represents the outcomes of IVF cycles when using a person's own eggs.

Where you see a “?” on the chart, a clinic has done fewer than 20 cycles in this category and age range, so the CDC says showing percentages from this small data set would be misleading and unreliable.
Dr. Kashani is a women who understands women and our journey of fertility...was always respectful on time...was never late and would always spend extra time after a monitoring appointment going over the results and next steps and answering any questions...recurrent miscarriages and unexplained early DOR
[Banafsheh N. Kashani, MD, FACOG] is new and nice and clean. It's small so it has a warm, comfortable feeling. It's very one-on-one focused...has a colleague in an attached office. They help each other out if one of them is away the other can fill in for a timely procedure like a retrieval.
How was your experience with Banafsheh Kashani at Banafsheh N. Kashani, MD, FACOG?
Dr. Kashani is a women who understands women and our journey of fertility. Day one speaking to her, I felt like she understood me and my goals. I had a lot of experience with fertility treatments and she was very sensitive and caring about my previous fertility journey prior to meeting her.
She was always respectful on time, she was never late and would always spend extra time after a monitoring appointment going over the results and next steps and answering any questions that I had. She was great at answering the question ' what would you do if you were me?' Which I truly appreciated given her background and training.
She was very knowledgeable and if she wasn't certain about something that was new or unique, she would check the research, ask some experts and get back to me.
She was open to newer diagnostic tests, something I think is very important for women like me who have had previous doctors deny the tests and just keep moving forward with treatment or women like me who have had recurrent miscarriages and unexplained early DOR.
I have some medical training and a lot of experience doing IVF treatments and I truly felt listened to and respected when having my own opinions to contribute. I felt like we made decisions together as a team and since infertility takes away your ability to control things, it felt like a had some control over our plan. I also felt more motivated and excited for the treatment plans.
Dr. Kashani was very positive about my pending outcomes. It was a very helpful addition/confirmation to my own work of trying to stay positive, setting positive affirmations, etc. It felt like a perfect fit.
Her office is new and nice and clean, she is genuine, trustworthy, classy and very professional.
Because of her, I am near the end of my second trimester, a place I was never certain I would get to.
I would highly recommend Dr. Kashani to anyone, especially if you are having any doubts about your current doctor. I had her after many other treatments but I wish I had her in the first place.
What's one piece of advice would you give a prospective patient of Banafsheh Kashani at Banafsheh N. Kashani, MD, FACOG?
You are in great hands!
During treatment, were you treated like a number or a human with Banafsheh Kashani at Banafsheh N. Kashani, MD, FACOG?
I felt like a human. Dr. Kashani did all of my scans herself. She was always on time. She spent time going over results and next steps at each monitoring visit and answering any questions I had. She was great at helping me make informed treatment decisions tailored to my specific case. I have some medical knowledge and she made me feel that my opinions mattered and were considered in my care. She was sensitive and caring to my fertility journey before I met her and used it to better my future care.
Describe the protocols Banafsheh Kashani used in your cycles at Banafsheh N. Kashani, MD, FACOG and their degree of success.
I had recurrent miscarriages and one embryo left. To maximize the chances of having a successful pregnancy with my last embryo, we did a bunch of testing to find out potential causes.
Testing - Pregmune, Emma/Alice, Receptiva, HSG, MRI
We found a few potential contributors and treated them before my transfer.
Pregmune - we found and inability to get blood flow to the spinal artery of my embryo which we managed with Neupogen. We also found that my body favors the inflammatory pathway so I had to increase my dosage of fish oils.
Receptiva - We found inflammation which means I had silent endometritis/endometriosis. We managed that with Lupron.
Describe your experience with your nurse at Banafsheh N. Kashani, MD, FACOG. (Assigned nurse: Vivian and Karen)
Karen, my nurse, was very caring and compassionate. She was just as invested in my care as Dr. Kashani and I. I felt like my outcome mattered to her. She was also great at answering questions because she has been working in fertility for a long time. She has a great personality and we could also have some laughs which I appreciated because fertility visits can be emotionally hard.
Vivian, my care coordinator, was very sweet and efficient. I was always greeted by her with a smile and a 'how are you?' I really felt welcomed. Every time I needed something, regarding appointments, medications, or insurance, I could email or call her and get it done the same day. Little things like this make a big difference in fertility care because there is enough other stuff to worry or stress about with fertility treatments.

Not everything is covered by insurance. I had a surgery there and Dr. Kashani's and anesthesia services were covered but the surgical center there that they use had an out of network fee.

Describe Banafsheh Kashani's approach to eSET (elective single embryo transfer) vs. multiple embryo transfer at Banafsheh N. Kashani, MD, FACOG.
This did not apply because I had only one embryo left.
[Dr. Banafsheh Kashani] adjusted my protocol significantly and we did alice, emma, and receptiva testing...felt like she studied my case to make a truly customized approach...she was kind, compassionate, and honest, and open to any ideas we had...14 mature eggs, 7 of which became healthy high quality embryos

How was your experience with Banafsheh Kashani at Banafsheh N. Kashani, MD, FACOG?
Dr K was probably the most important person in our life the last year. We had a hard journey prior to finding Dr K, and had a difficult case of what looked like unexplained infertility. At previous clinic, we only made 3 embryos (I was 31 at time with no issues), 1 was a fresh transfer that resulted in a miscarriage, 1 was generically abnormal, and 1 was low quality that later didnt stick. With Dr K, we had to cancel one cycle, which was hard, but we trusted her fully, and she said she knew she could get better results the father away I was from my depot lupron shots from previous cycle (she thought correctly that I was too suppressed). We ended up waiting a few months, and thank God we did, because I was one year older than last retrieval, but made SEVEN high quality genetically normal embryos. She adjusted my protocol significantly and we did alice, emma, and receptiva testing- we also did estrace priming and she was open to my idea of adding HGH for egg retieval. It felt like she studied my case to make a truly customized approach. We ended up having one transfer with Dr K not work, and were all confused, but after this, she noticed an ovarian cyst of mine grew, and she suspected I might have endomtriosis, and made the hard suggestion to have laparoscopic surgery. Dr K never lead us is the wrong direction- she made hard calls at times to get us our baby. After this, we had a successful transfer! Throughout the journey with her, she was kind, compassionate, and honest, and open to any ideas we had. It was collaborative and comfortable every step of the way, even during the hard parts. She treats you like a best friend and has your back.
What's one piece of advice would you give a prospective patient of Banafsheh Kashani at Banafsheh N. Kashani, MD, FACOG?
If I lived across the world, I would fly back to use her as our IVF doctor. She is 1 in a million, and I truly don't know if we would have gotten such great results and this beautiful pregnancy without her as our doctor. Do your research and interview a few doctors, but I would tell every one of my best friends to use her if they needed IVF.
During treatment, were you treated like a number or a human with Banafsheh Kashani at Banafsheh N. Kashani, MD, FACOG?
I have unfortunately been to a lot of doctors, but Dr K is in a league of her own. It truly felt like she was just as invested in our journey as my husband and I. We had the opposite experience at a bigger 'more well known' clinic, and the Dr didnt even know our name and had to rely on nurses to know what was going on during our cycle. Dr K not only remembered every detail of our case and cycle, but also personal things, which made a stressful process a lot more relaxing.
Describe the protocols Banafsheh Kashani used in your cycles at Banafsheh N. Kashani, MD, FACOG and their degree of success.
We did estrace priming to sync my eggs to make sure they all grew together, as well as added HGH to help with egg quality (I believe this was a game changer). Dr K was also so diligent in adjusted and increasing medications throughout the cycle based on my bodies response. We ended up get 14 mature eggs, 7 of which became healthy high quality embryos. For reference, 1 year earlier, another clinic/dr only retrieved 5 mature eggs.
Describe your experience with your nurse at Banafsheh N. Kashani, MD, FACOG. (Assigned nurse: Karen)
KAREN! Best nurse I have ever met. She has the biggest heart, and I cried when I graduated from their clinic at 9 weeks, and Karen was a big reason for that. She was SO kind and a calming force during the process. She is also incredibly knowledgable as she has been doing this work for over 20 years I believe, so she always provided me with reassurance that I trusted. Once I was pregnant, I did another round of intralipids, and had really bad anxiety that day, and Karen sat and talked with me the entire treatment to calm me down. I've never forget that.
Vivian the office coordinator is also just amazing. She responds to emails SO quickly, and on weekends. This was the polar opposite to the last clinic where there would be a different admin every day and couldnt track our case or keep us organized, and would be days without replies. Vivian not only was so helpful and informative, but the quick responses made such a big difference.
Describe your experience with Banafsheh N. Kashani, MD, FACOG.
The clinic is small and intimate, which we wanted. Strengths: amazingly detailed and compassionate care, quick response via email from office coordinator and quick phone calls back from Dr K during 2 kind of emergencies we had, personalized care. Weaknesses: I honestly cannot think of anything.
Describe the costs associated with your care under Banafsheh Kashani at Banafsheh N. Kashani, MD, FACOG.
I believe it was around $30k- this included egg retrieval, 1 transfer, medications, genetic testing, alice, emma, receptiva tests, and ultrasounds (we do not have insurance coverage)

Dr. Kashani's whole staff made the transition of transferring embryos and paperwork smoothly....Vivian [nurse] was great and organized. She always had appointments booked and made sure medication was ordered in a timely manner. She made the transition easy for us when we had to transfer our embryos from another clinic. How was your experience with Banafsheh Kashani at Banafsheh N. Kashani, MD, FACOG?
Dr. Kashani is a gem and I cannot say enough great things about her! After 3 failed rounds with our previous IVF doctor, we found Dr. Kashani and are so lucky that we did. From the moment we had our consultation with her, we knew she was the one. She is compassionate, knowledgeable, and is open to trying new ideas. Dr. Kashani truly cares about her patients and always had a few plans in mind going forward. She is open minded and always asked about my thoughts and how I felt about each plan to make sure I was comfortable. She details each cycle to her patients instead of treating us all the same. Dr. Kashani's dedication to her patients is truly heartwarming. She would give me calls about updates after hours and even called to discuss an adjusted plan while she was out of town with her family during a holiday weekend! After years of infertility and our first transfer with Dr. Kashani, we are now pregnant and it is all thanks to her! My husband and I have always dreamed of this time and Dr. Kashani made it possible!

How was your experience with Banafsheh Kashani at Banafsheh N. Kashani, MD, FACOG?
Dr. Kashani is a true angel to me. Her care for me was above and beyond any medical care, I have got or seen in my life. After having 4 failed IVF cycles with 2 other clinics Dr. Kashani did my 5th FET transfer and I'm so happy to say I'm now almost end of my 23 weeks with a healthy baby. Dr. Kashani is truly compassionate and knowledgeable and always thinks about new ideas if that can help me. She is also open-minded and always asked about my thoughts and how I felt about each plan to make sure I was comfortable. After my FET she would give me calls about any updates and even call to discuss a change of treatment plan as needed based on my test results while she was out of town with her family during a holiday weekend! My infertility journey started with Dr. Kashani 5 years back when I was diagnosed with a complete uterine septum during my 1st pregnancy which I concived naturally but ended up with a miscarriage. Dr. Kashani did several hysteroscopies to correct my uterine septum. It was not easy but she did so amazingly well that later other doctors appreciated how nicely it was done. Later I had to move to other clinics and doctors due to my insurance but Dr. Kashani always remained as my doctor and I took advice from her many times during my first 4 FETs. Unfortunately, all 4 FETs were unsuccessful with other doctors and we decided to do the last FET with Dr. Kashani. Dr. Kashani looked at all the reports and records from all my previous transfers and made a completely customized plan for me for this FET. After the transfer, she kept me very closely monitored and made this a successful pregnancy. My husband and I have always dreamed of this and Dr. Kashani made the dream a reality. She truly cares for her patients in such a way that sometimes I feel she is my family than a doctor, even after I “graduated” from her to my OB doctor, Dr. Kashani checked how I’m doing and I know she is always there for me and I can’t wait to introduce our little miracle to her, hopefully very soon.

How was your experience with Banafsheh Kashani at Banafsheh N. Kashani, MD, FACOG?
Dr Kashani is such a gem! Our hearts are filled with so much happiness and we owe much of that to Dr Kashani. It has not been an easy journey for us, but we knew that it likely wouldn’t be based on our previous infertility experience with our first child. It is thanks to Dr Kashani that we rode the many waves of ups and downs again and stuck it through these past two years. Dr Kashani is so thorough and attentive to detail which matters so much to patients like me who had quite the previous infertility and IVF history to deal with. She was always willing to think and work outside the box to continuously adapt and find solutions while still being cautious and mindful of the costs involved. I appreciated her pragmatism and realism in a field that oftentimes doesn’t take emotional and financial toll into account. She did exactly that and was so dedicated to helping us grow our family to include a sibling for our son. We received such great care and every appointment and procedure was with Dr Kashani herself. Describe your experience with Banafsheh N. Kashani, MD, FACOG.
This clinic is outstanding with its patient care covering everything from scheduling appointments, to being on time with appointments, ordering meds, instructions on how to use meds, being mindful of all the costs, checking in after procedures, being vigilant with cleanliness, and being extremely organized. Perhaps most important of all, this clinic feels like a warm, inviting place from the moment you step in and it is all the wonderful people involved that make this clinic feel so pleasant and appealing.
She [Dr. Kashani] takes the time to inform her patients and delivers all news in the most reassuring fashion. She explores various avenues in order to provide the most efficient care for her patients. Her passion for her work is evident from the first meeting. I have referred a handful of people to her and every single one has had the same feedback: she is not only brilliant but so kind!...We expected to continue the hormone shots for two additional days but when my estrogen plateaued unexpectedly, Dr. Kashani had to make a game time decision. She made the proper adjustments and arrangements to get the most eggs possible. We ended up having a very successful retrieval!
The nursing staff [at Dr. Kashani's office] is very patient, caring, knowledgeable and efficient making the entire experience very comfortable!...The doctor/clinic costs are very competitive (I shopped around)! After meeting the doctor and seeing the clinic, I expected the costs to be higher than average (especially considering the personalized care Dr. Kashani provides). Was pleasantly surprised. She also provided me several resources that could help cover the cost.

I saw Dr. Kashani after having three miscarriages. I was extremely discouraged before my visit but left the appointment SO hopeful. She listened attentively and explained things in detail (without using too much medical jargon). She always took the time to answer all of my questions (there were a lot) and never made me feel rushed. Her treatment plan and close monitoring worked and I got pregnant on the first cycle. I can't remember exactly what the costs were, but it was reasonable.
Dr. Kashani spent adequate time with us each visit...performed each ultrasound herself and had follow up meeting after to go over next steps with each appointment...did all the egg retrievals and our transfer herself...disappointed because after all we had been through her only response was that she was "baffled" at my results time and time again
Strengths [of Banafsheh N. Kashani, MD, FACOG]- appointments are always on time and with the same people. Weaknesses - sets unrealistic expectations for results...Always saw the same nurse Karen who was very sweet. We also always dealt with Vivian at the front desk.
How was your experience with Banafsheh Kashani at Banafsheh N. Kashani, MD, FACOG?
Dr. Kashani spent adequate time with us each visit. We were always seen on time for almost every appointment. She performed each ultrasound herself and had follow up meeting after to go over next steps with each appointment. She did all the egg retrievals and our transfer herself. Based on my follicle count Dr. Kashani suggested we only do one egg retrieval. We opted for the two retrieval package. My first retrieval resulted in no PGT-A embryos and we were able to upgrade to a third retrieval package. We only made one PGT-A blast in three retrievals and transferred unsuccessfully. I was disappointed because after all we had been through her only response was that she was "baffled" at my results time and time again. Baffled is not a word you want to hear from your doctor ever.
What's one piece of advice would you give a prospective patient of Banafsheh Kashani at Banafsheh N. Kashani, MD, FACOG?
Go in with realistic expectations. IVF is not a guarantee. Even though Dr. Kashani is very positive, positivity from your doctor does not equate to a baby. Don't get your hopes up.

Strengths - appointments are always on time and with the same people.
Weaknesses - sets unrealistic expectations for results. I'd rather have the blunt truth that IVF may not work than a always positive outlook that gets hopes up and ultimately let down.

In addition, patients need to understand things happen fast and you sometimes need to be able to make a decision while in office. Depending upon where you are in your treatment, it is BM just helpful to understand that they may be ready to start immediately.

I can’t say enough about Dr. Kashani, she has been so wonderful and we now have our baby girl on the way! We really didn’t know anything about IVF or where to start. We had gone to another fertility doctor prior and it was all so confusing and stressful. We literally hated having to go into that office because we never knew what was going on and the staff wasn’t the friendliest either, fortunately for us, we met Dr Kashani by chance and immediately made the move over to her. I cannot recommend Dr. Kashani and her team enough! My husband and I switched to Dr. Kashani’s clinic after doing two egg retrievals with a different clinic. Our first clinic was big, we rarely saw our doctor and felt like just a number. Navigating IVF is very stressful, and feeling like just a number compounded that stress. I am so glad we moved to Dr. Kashani for our third egg retrieval and frozen embryo transfer. The office is small, so you get to know Dr. K and her team very well. You see her at every appointment, which is very reassuring. She pays close attention to detail, never rushes you, and always makes you feel cared for. Your treatment plan is completely personalized and not a set plan that she does for everyone (this is how our prior clinic operated). She is always available to answer questions on the messenger app and always calls with big updates - even on weekends! We got great results from our egg retrieval with her and are now expecting a baby this June, thanks to Dr. Kashani and her wonderful team :)

I can't remember my egg retrieval protocol, but she did do a completely different protocol than my previous clinic and got way better results. At my first clinic, they retrieved a small number of eggs each time, and it took two retrievals to end up with three embryos. With Dr. Kashani, she was able to retrieve 12 eggs, which resulted in 3 healthy embryos.

Go see Dr. Kashani and her team - you will not regret it!

The cost varied because we had insurance coverage for some procedures and no coverage for others. But, her costs were comparable to other OC/San Diego clinics. I thought her pricing was average and pretty standard.
Describe Banafsheh Kashani's approach to eSET (elective single embryo transfer) vs. multiple embryo transfer at Banafsheh N. Kashani, MD, FACOG.
We only transferred one frozen embryo. That is what Dr. Kashani recommended and that is what we were most comfortable with.
Dr Kashani was thorough & realistic in explaining what to expect at all our visits… She explained the risks I was going to take if I were to pursue IVF prior to removing my non uterine fibroids… She also explained the risks of choosing lower graded embryos because I wanted to try for a boy over a girl first… However, she always let me make the choices on my own… I ended up removing my fibroids first, healing, then attempted my only male embryo first… When it wasn’t successful, she was very compassionate & I ultimately chose to try again right away with two female embryos & now I have two beautiful twin baby girls…
They’re [Banafsheh N. Kashani, MD, FACOG] quick to get you a response & are clear in all the instructions that might need clarification… Anytime I needed a response & didn’t get it right away, they were quick to let me know what I needed within 24 hrs or less…She is worth the wait… She is worth the money… She is on your side… You won’t be disappointed… You can be candid with her & she will give you the same in return… I’ve been married for 16 years & she was the only fertility Dr that got me where I am today… I’m now proud to say I’m a mother of 2 amazing little miracles… I now have a friend using her for freezing her eggs, and a sister in law using her for IVF…

I produced all of my Kaiser Infertility treatment documents & we moved straight into IVF/ICSI/PGTA & we used injections to retrieve as many eggs as possible & out of 23 eggs, 12 made it to 5 day embryos & out of 12, 6 of them were healthy (no genetic issues)… I yielded 1 male & 5 female embryos… The male was a b graded embryo & we were unsuccessful in him attaching & becoming a pregnancy… We tried again the next month & were successful with 2 female embryos & those are now my two daughters born January 2023

For a 1 time egg retrieval, discount for being a Kaiser patient, ICSI, PGTA & Freezing eggs for 1 year… Approximately $17k… Not including medications & a few procedures… I financed through a company they provided me information on & I ended up paying that off through a home equity line of credit…
Dr. Kashani is very intelligent, up to date on current research and really cares about her patients. I had times where I was freaking out over a medication problem or pain I was having and I would email her on the weekend or evening. She often responded within 30 minutes to any urgent concern. I’ve never received that kind of care before...She treated me with the utmost care and like a friend rather than a patient. She empathized with my pain and celebrated with me when treatments were successful...
The nursing staff was wonderful here [Kashani]. Very compassionate and kind. Karen held my hand and let me squeeze it when I was having a painful biopsy. Vivian helped me with shots and always worked with Dr. Kashani to schedule me at times that were best with my work schedule...Great communication, care, and kindness. Easy to access documents through portal. Comfortable and clean clinic. I also loved that I never had to wait long for the doctor to come in while I had that paper sheet over me...

Describe the protocols Banafsheh Kashani used in your cycles at Banafsheh N. Kashani, MD, FACOG and their degree of success.
We started with IUI as I had unexplained infertility and PCOS and my partner had male factor. She adjusted medications each cycle to improve odds but all 4 tries were unsuccessful. From there, we decided to proceed with IVF. We had one egg retrieval that resulted in 5 pgt tested embryos. First transfer was a frozen medicated cycle. Sadly, I had a miscarriage. So we did further testing with a mock trial (ERA, Receptiva). I tested positive on the receptiva test which indicates inflammation likely linked to endometriosis. Dr. kashani got me in the following month with a Nancy’s Nook approved endometriosis excision specialist and I had the endo surgically removed. Then we had a second frozen medicated transfer once I was healed about 2 months later. That one did not implant. So, for the third transfer the following month we made a few changes including doing a modified natural cycle. I will be 18 weeks pregnant tomorrow :).

Great communication, care, and kindness. Easy to access documents through portal. Comfortable and clean clinic. That never happened here!
Describe the costs associated with your care under Banafsheh Kashani at Banafsheh N. Kashani, MD, FACOG.
I don’t have fertility insurance so it was costly but not more so than other practices. It was around 17k for the embryo transfer and pgt testing. Around 4K per transfer. Meds I paid for separately. Around $1500 per IUI cycle.
I cannot say enough good things about my experience with Dr. K. After trying to conceive for a little over 2 years with no success and I was referred to Dr. K...The plan presented to me was very specific to my individual circumstances. Communication was constant, the doctor made sure I understood all options, helped me weigh the pros and cons and made sure we were always comfortable with how things were progressing.
The [Banafsheh N. Kashani, MD, FACOG] clinic is small and has a mom and pop feel to it (but it top notch in terms of research and resources). I was previously at a very large clinic where I certainly felt more like a number vs. a person- this was not the case here...The plan presented to me was very specific to my individual circumstances. Communication was constant, the doctor made sure I understood all options, helped me weigh the pros and cons and made sure we were always comfortable with how things were progressing.
How was your experience with Banafsheh Kashani at Banafsheh N. Kashani, MD, FACOG?
I cannot say enough good things about my experience with Dr. K. After trying to conceive for a little over 2 years with no success and I was referred to Dr. K. Within about 8 weeks, I had my egg retrieval and a diagnosis as to why we were experiencing issues. Fertility journeys are never a straight line and no two stories are the same. While we experienced a couple of setbacks along the way we learned something new with each step of the process and Dr. K was very thoughtful when explaining each new finding. She presented multiple options, helped us weigh the pros and cons of each decision, and listened to our needs and concerns. IVF can be a long and daunting process when you look at it as a whole but the team here does an excellent job at taking things one day at a time and breaking things down into manageable steps. We finally took home our miracle baby (a 2nd generation IVF baby) in October 2022. We cannot thank Dr. K enough and would recommend for anyone experiencing fertility issues.

Describe your experience with your nurse at Banafsheh N. Kashani, MD, FACOG. (Assigned nurse: Natalie and Vivian)
Natalie and Vivian felt like family by the time I graduated from the clinic. They were so helpful every step of the way, they were very invested in my process and they made me feel comfortable and well cared for.
Describe your experience with Banafsheh N. Kashani, MD, FACOG.
The clinic is small and has a mom and pop feel to it (but it top notch in terms of research and resources). I was previously at a very large clinic where I certainly felt more like a number vs. a person- this was not the case here.
Describe Banafsheh Kashani's approach to eSET (elective single embryo transfer) vs. multiple embryo transfer at Banafsheh N. Kashani, MD, FACOG.
This clinic only does single embryo transfers on PGT tested embryos from what I recall, unsure of the policy for untested embryos
I am beyond humbled and grateful that a baby will be joining our family in a few months after a year of multiple failed IVF miscarriages, shots, tears, meds, countless doc appointments, lab work, more shots, and more tears. And I owe it all to the phenomenal Dr. Kashani. I’m no stranger to the physical and mental strain of the IVF world, and after dealing with two other doctors prior to Dr. K, my only regret was that I didn’t find her sooner.
Everyone [at Banafsheh N. Kashani clinic] is very kind and personable and they are super responsive. Infertility is something that I wish no one has to ever go through, but I am so grateful that Dr. Kashani and her team were by my side every step of the way...It’s a smaller clinic so you don’t feel just like a number. You can call a number and talk to someone who knows you right away, unlike so many other clinics where you need to be transferred multiple times to then leave a message and hope for a call back 24 hours later.

Dr. Kashani monitored me every other day, and adjusted medications accordingly. I started off with 375 IU Follistim, and 1 vial of Menopur. After a few days we added Ganrelix, and then later we upped the Menopur to 2 vials. On the last few days we increased Follistim to 425IU...Dr. Kashani was very personal in her approach with me, she called me to deliver news personally both good and bad. How was your experience with Banafsheh Kashani at Banafsheh N. Kashani, MD, FACOG?
Most doctors don't want to even look at previous doctors' test results and diagnosis, but she was willing to review what I'd done in the past. I had pretty poor follicle count and AMH levels from a previous consultation, but Dr. Kashani told me she had reason to hope things could turn around for me. We re-tested, made some lifestyle changes, and got a cyst checked out by a specialist before we decided to proceed. I never felt like just a number, just a patient, or just someone they were trying to upsell.
Dr. Kashani was very personal in her approach with me, she called me to deliver news personally both good and bad. She's very empathetic and I could feel she genuinely cared about me and my results. Not everything went smoothly for me, and I was naturally (and hormonal!) upset and anxious, and she remained calm through it all and I knew I could trust her to make the right decisions for me. From the smallest questions at night when I was confused on how to mix my medication, to a huge mistake I made on the night of my trigger shot, Dr. Kashani was available, picked up the phone, and talked me down from crisis.
This type of procedure is emotional, draining and stressful and I can't imagine being in anyone else's hands. I truly believe her positivity and compassion helped me get results no one ever expected for me, and kept me from having a total breakdown.
What's one piece of advice would you give a prospective patient of Banafsheh Kashani at Banafsheh N. Kashani, MD, FACOG?
Trust her. Be open and honest and ask all your questions, tell the truth and nothing is too embarrassing or stupid. The more she knows the more she can help you.
During treatment, were you treated like a number or a human with Banafsheh Kashani at Banafsheh N. Kashani, MD, FACOG?
Dr. Kashani and her staff not only treated me like a human, they treated me like family. I'd called over 10 different clinics based on referrals from friends and acquaintances, but ended up finding Dr. Kashani through great reviews on FertilityIQ and something told me to give her a chance. From my first phone consult, I never felt like I was being sold on anything, she wasn't exploiting my fear and making me feel like I'd need multiple rounds, and she had a warm manner that put me at ease right away.

I did Follistim, Menopur, and Ganrelix for my treatment, followed by the trigger shot. Dr. Kashani monitored me every other day, and adjusted medications accordingly. Describe your experience with your nurse at Banafsheh N. Kashani, MD, FACOG. (Assigned nurse: Vivian (care coordinator), & a nurse but I can't recall her name!)
The staff was incredible, so helpful and caring. I can't recall the nurses name for the life of me, but she was very warm and caring, super gentle with all the bloodwork (I am usually hysterical during blood draws) and very empathetic when I had a bit of a crisis in my treatment.
Vivian, the IVF care coordinator is a gem. She was so proactive with communication, both email and phone in the 2 months prior to my procedure. She was on top of all the paperwork I needed, would answer my questions with patience despite how repetitive, remained calm when I got too hormonal and frustrated at times. She also knew I was very concerned about costs, and when I told her I was researching discounts through different pharma companies and European pharmacies, she helped me fill out all the extra paperwork I needed and gave me the idea to ask one pharmacy to match another pharmacy's aid program. I couldn't have done it without her, and I save several thousand dollars.
Describe your experience with Banafsheh N. Kashani, MD, FACOG.
The clinic was very clean, organized, and felt like a warm and inviting environment. Sounds stupid, but even their decor was nice and the room they teach you injections in is so inviting and cozy. The staff are all caring and friendly, and are super responsive at all times. I had a bit of a crisis and they even came in on a Sunday to help me.
The only small area of weakness is I think it would be great for patients to get hands on practice with the medications, mixing and injecting. I'm not sure if this is feasible, but the medications are high stakes and expensive, and its a lot of stress and pressure to do it on your own with the real thing. I think more practice to get a real feel for it would be helpful.
Describe the costs associated with your care under Banafsheh Kashani at Banafsheh N. Kashani, MD, FACOG.
$6000 fee for Dr. Kashani, I guess they were running a special of some sort?
Initial phone consultation - free
First Ultrasound - $190 (was out of network for my coverage)
First Blood test- she told me to have my own doctor order it so it was covered
Medication ~$2800 (I applied for an income based discount with the pharma, otherwise would have been double)
$1600 - I had to pay for an additional procedure day and anesthesiologist because something went wrong with my first trigger shot. This was the discussed plan of action and I agreed to the extra cost to salvage my process, which was worth it in the end. Hopefully no one else ever has to pay that cost because they won't be in a situation like I was.
We used GonalF and Menupur for a week prior to egg retrieval. Initially, my body reacted almost too well to the stims and Dr. Kashani quickly changed my dosage and monitored closely to keep follicles growing at a steady pace. Overall we were able to retrieve 26 eggs. Post retrieval I had a slight case of OHSS but was able to rid of symptoms within a week...compassionate and always made us feel like we were the only patients being seen. They were prompt to answer any questions we had even on the weekends.
The staff, like Dr. Kashani, are all compassionate, patient and great communicators. Natalie is a gem and very knowledgable about the whole process. Her bedside manners are great. I'd have her draw my blood every time if I could, she was that good! Our coordinator Vivian, is patient and a great communicator and was always available to help us. She even walked us through each step of stims shots the first couple nights!

How was your experience with Banafsheh Kashani at Banafsheh N. Kashani, MD, FACOG?
Dr. Kashani is truly a blessing! I am so glad that I came across her and her clinic. I was diagnosed with premature ovarian failure at age 17. Every doctor and fertility specialist I had seen told me that there was a slim-to-low chance of me having kids in the future. I felt hopeless and like a lost cause. However, finding Dr. Kashani turned everything around. She was the first doctor to give me hope. With her empathetic personality and expertise in the field, I was confident that my fertility was in the hands of Dr. Kashani. She welcomed me in with open arms and looked at my case at every angle. She designed the best fertility treatment (oocyte cryopreservation/egg freezing) for me based on my individual needs. With every appointment and interaction that I had with Dr. Kashani, I truly felt cared for. I could tell that she would do anything and everything in her ability to give me the best chance at having kids of my own one day. The results of the treatment exceeded my expectations, which I certainly attribute to having the best fertility doctor ever! I am planning on doing another cycle of egg freezing and am definitely having Dr. Kashani be my doctor again. I have nothing but great things to say about Dr. Kashani and I very highly recommend her.

Through every step of the way, Dr. Kashani thoroughly explained what she was doing and why she was doing it. For my treatment, egg freezing, I started taking Clomid (Dr. Kashani thought it would be best to start with a more conservative approach). My body was not responding to the pill form of Clomid, so I was instructed to start injections with Menopur and Ganirelix. These medications produced great results and, two weeks later, I underwent the egg retrieval procedure. The outcome exceeded my expectations and I was very happy with the results.
