The number of eggs retrieved [under the care of Dr. Schoocraft] relative to the number of follicles seen was very low (both in absolute and relative to my experience at other clinics). The fertilization rate and growth to day 6 blastocyst were also below my understanding of what is standard and what subsequently happened at other clinics. Lastly, it is unclear what the benefits of the extra medications used at CCRM are, given the similar yield to other clinics...
The costs [at CCRM - Denver] are about $10K more than other clinics (not including medicine or travel/lodging). The aggregate number of meds you will be on is higher. Spending a week in Colorado is disruptive. To the extent CCRM has a monitoring clinic in your city, you may be able to fly out closer to retrieval...~$25K + anesthesia and medicine costs...The nursing staff was relatively good...

The clinic is very hands on. Relative to the other clinics I have been at, it is a fairly personalized experience, likely due at least in part to the number of non-local patients they see.

Estrace prep and a week of Cipro before stimulation. Stim included clomid the whole time, 300 follistim, 150 menopur, dexamethasone, and ganirelex.

We went through frozen embryo banking. Although we understood that it was a numbers game, he never made us feel like a number. He was kind, considerate and candid. When we had setbacks, he addressed them quickly. He was always positive about our chances and was the first to congratulate us. I highly recommend him.
Very professional, cutting but not bleeding edge in technology. This clinic [CCRM] sets the standard for others to follow. Hands down, I would choose this clinic again. After going to another well-regarded clinic, I just wish I would’ve gone there sooner.... Helen was a poor communicator. When I asked for a different nurse, Dr. Gustofson immediately got me in touch with the perfect nurse.

Helen was a poor communicator. When I asked for a different nurse, Dr. Gustofson immediately got me in touch with the perfect nurse.

I didn't feel as if he were just reading a chart....I loved that he was so accessible. Not all doctors at CCRM are so. He was kind and compassionate given all we had been through....He's a great doctor. Don't over look him for the glitz and glamour of other doctors at CCRM....We tried multiple treatment plans to get my uterus to respond. Unfortunately, nothing worked until we took myself out of the equation.
CCRM can be very overwhelming. They have a remarkable reputation and that can sometimes be daunting. You expect miracles. A lot of times those miracles do happen and sometimes they don't or they take other means to happen. And sometimes even the best doctors can't know everything. And be okay with that....CCRM was very expensive. But their statistics spoke for themselves. I will never regret making the decision to go there.

Cindy was always so kind. She was my egg donor nurse and was always helpful and patient with my questions and concerns. Katie was my gestational carrier nurse and while a bit more business-like was equally as wonderful in other ways. I stay in contact with both of them still.

I didn't have a ton of contact with Schoolcraft after my first initial phone conversation with him and my first day of appointments...For someone with is national reputation, I was able to get an appointment pretty easily. He was honest and shared all information with me. He is not warm and fuzzy, but I didn't need that. I wanted results and got two beautiful girls!...I had IVF and due to my age took advantage of the genetic testing that could be done with the embryos, then they were frozen.
It's the full package! Customer service, most advanced medical technology and research, and a positive atmosphere [CCRM].... I lived out of town and took advantage of the great system they have in place for out of town patients...I wish I could remember my nurse coordinator, because she was fabulous! All of the nurses and other staff were great. I was always able to get in touch with someone and they always answered my questions...Expensive, but worth every penny.

His thoroughness is absolutely what led to my ability to get pregnant after 2 years at another clinic that overlooked something structurally wrong with my uterus... Fixed my uterine septum. Sent me home with a protocol for electro-acupuncture, which I had done per their instructions, and then while waiting for my IVF to start I managed to get pregnant and stay pregnant. Between fixing the septum and improving my lining through electro-acupuncture, it worked!!!

It was a methodical place not too focused on bedside manner. But I didn't care-- I was there for results, not cuddles, and I didn't fault them for their need for efficiency

Fixed my uterine septum. Sent me home with a protocol for electro-acupuncture, which I had done per their instructions, and then while waiting for my IVF to start I managed to get pregnant and stay pregnant. Between fixing the septum and improving my lining through electro-acupuncture, it worked!!!

[Dr Eric Surrey is] easy to talk to. Very matter of fact which is what I need....Can tell lots of experience Takes information seriously...Make sure you go through your entire history with him. Ask questions. He will answer them...Vitamins, Acai berry trail and he chose not to suppress me with BCP instead to prime my eggs, longer stim cycle with more mature eggs at lower Med doses. The results were dramatic but much better than my local clinic.
Weakness [at CCRM]: front desk, could be more attentive. Strengths: being a physician myself I can tell all their testing quality is A+...Initially I was told my assigned nurse left and I would have a different nurse every time. The next nurse who called me was outstanding so I asked her to take over my case and have been with her since. Ok to be gently proactive though it may be exhausting at times.

We are planning a IVF cycle in Jan. We are doing a priming cycle using testosterone/estrogen/progesterone. She then wants to do more of a mini-stim IVF cycle leading up to the egg retrieval. She felt like getting maybe less eggs than previous cycles (I was getting 18-21) but making those eggs more mature and better quality.

He [Dr. Gustofson] was available for any questions we may have. His bedside manner and concern for our journey is to be commended. When our first cycle did not end in pregnancy, he was just as sad for us as we were for ourselves...ISCI was used due to my husband's vasectomy reversal. We also did PGS testing of all embryos...He explained the process and what was going on with each of us from what he could tell from all of our testing.

Strengths - They have the best lab in the country (if not the world). They know the latest practices and protocols. I was for straight forward communication and blunt answers, and once I stated that they knew how to communicate effectively with me while keeping the bedside manner in tact. Weaknesses - They have a lot of patients and if you are not familiar with the IVF process it can seem overwhelming.

But I felt like hopefully I'd have luck on the first try there, as opposed to going somehwere else and needing multiple transfers.

Dr. kondapalli was not the doctor for me. She was blunt and during our last appointment she left without answering my questions and sent another nurse in to send us on our way. We were lost and needed more direction...I had every test under the sun which honestly started to feel redundant...We were told because there was nothing wrong anatomically or genetically that we would not be good candidates for any treatment or additional support.
Strength [of CCRM Colorado] -Ivf success numbers. If you need fertility treatment this office knows what they are doing and how to get you pregnant. Weakness-compassionate fertility testing. If you’re needing a full work up you must advocate for yourself. I had to keep track of what they were billing me for, what tests we had run and my most recent results.

She was extremely unorganized and always would make inaccurate comments when discussing things with me which appeared she was getting confused with other patients. She made mistakes and ordered wrong initial testing and made a mistake each IUI with timing. We always had to be careful and really check her. For one particular IUI she told me the wrong time and so I was late for work and extremely stressed that I did not have it in time due to my trigger shot. She would say sorry but did not seem to actually care and she always appeared stressed out.
