Attention to Detail

Attention to detail is on a 1 - 10 scale, and is scored based on the rate, and severity, of errors committed by the clinic according to the patients.

For example, a severe error might be failing to inform a patient of critical information, while a small error might be failing to call a patient with results.

CDC Success Rates

This is the most recent data from the CDC. The CDC cautions that it should not be used to compare doctors and clinics. This data represents the outcomes of IVF cycles when using a person's own eggs.

For more information please see our FAQs.

Where you see a “?” on the chart, a clinic has done fewer than 20 cycles in this category and age range, so the CDC says showing percentages from this small data set would be misleading and unreliable.

He [Dr. Edwin Robins] was sort of cold. Very clinical, not compassionate. I never felt like he cared about me or my situation. He was just there to preform the job of retrieval and implantations. He discouraged me from 2 embryos. He didn't make me feel comfortable or even seen. I was simply a number and a patient to be checked off the list that day...He was very short with his answers. Poor bedside manner. No empathy. It was just get in and get out. He had other patients to see and didn't want to be bothered with questions.

How was your experience with Edwin Robins at Center for Reproductive Health Spokane?

He discouraged me from 2 embryos. He didn't make me feel comfortable or even seen. I was simply a number and a patient to be checked off the list that day.
What's one piece of advice would you give a prospective patient of Edwin Robins at Center for Reproductive Health Spokane?
Low expectations. I don't think he has as much success as he claims.
During treatment, were you treated like a number or a human with Edwin Robins at Center for Reproductive Health Spokane?
He was very short with his answers. Poor bedside manner. No empathy. It was just get in and get out. He had other patients to see and didn't want to be bothered with questions.
Describe the protocols Edwin Robins used in your cycles at Center for Reproductive Health Spokane and their degree of success.
Started injectable meds for the egg retrieval, had many vaginal ultrasounds, both at my home clinic and at his office. I live three hours from Spokane so it was a very difficult time to get to Spokane as much as they wanted me to. They retrieved 12 eggs, 4 became usable embryos, 2 of those were not viable. We implanted two embryos in July '22. They did not take and I was not pregnant.
Describe your experience with your nurse at Center for Reproductive Health Spokane. (Assigned nurse: Summer)
The nursing staff was all amazing. My nurse coordinator, Summer, left just after my failed transfer. Karen was the absolute best. She always gave me a hug and helped make sure I felt comfortable. she made my experience a lot better.
Describe your experience with Center for Reproductive Health Spokane.
It was difficult because I was a "remote" patient. I lived three hours away, they were also very covid scared, so it felt so sterile and harsh. There was a LOT of back and forth on details and questions because I don't feel like they communicated clearly on processes.
Describe your experience with your monitoring appointments at Center for Reproductive Health Spokane.
It was a cattle call. The clinic opened at 7 for ultrasounds and blood work. First come, first serve. If you got there early you had a minimal wait, if you got there after 7:30 you could wait up to two hours. It was not done well.
Describe the costs associated with your care under Edwin Robins at Center for Reproductive Health Spokane.
$18k for multi-cycle. Plus meds and monitoring. All in all, we spent about $30k for one cycle.
Describe Edwin Robins's approach to eSET (elective single embryo transfer) vs. multiple embryo transfer at Center for Reproductive Health Spokane.
He only wanted to do a single transfer, I had to sign a deviation of protocol to get the two implanted. I don't think he liked that too much, and I speculate he didn't do his best to implant them, so he could be right about it not working.

he [Dr. Robins] was extremely knowledgeable and it was clear that he had reviewed our intake materials in full detail prior to meeting with us. In person, Dr. Robins does not have a strong bedside manner. He is very “matter-of-fact” and efficient. This can come off as abrupt or even cold at times, especially in morning clinic when you spend less than 5 minutes in an ultrasound. Overall though, pleased with the medical care and fertility expertise which is what we came for....
Communication [at Center for Reproductive Health Spokane] was always timely and it was easy to get in touch. They do a great job serving patients from a wide geographic area and are good at coordinating with local OB offices when needed. That said, I only ever got the feeling that my nurse coordinator and one of the front office gals knew who I was. The rest of the care I received felt pretty impersonal...Cattle call starting at 7am. How was your experience with Edwin Robins at Center for Reproductive Health Spokane?
Dr. Robins is a seasoned fertility specialist. We were very impressed by our initial consultation; he was extremely knowledgeable and it was clear that he had reviewed our intake materials in full detail prior to meeting with us. In person, Dr. Robins does not have a strong bedside manner. He is very “matter-of-fact” and efficient. This can come off as abrupt or even cold at times, especially in morning clinic when you spend less than 5 minutes in an ultrasound. Overall though, pleased with the medical care and fertility expertise which is what we came for.
What's one piece of advice would you give a prospective patient of Edwin Robins at Center for Reproductive Health Spokane?
You are there for results, not to make a friend. Dr. Robins is not a warm and fuzzy, but he is extremely knowledgeable.
Describe the protocols Edwin Robins used in your cycles at Center for Reproductive Health Spokane and their degree of success.
I believe I was on an antagonist/low dose HCG protocol. Protocol selection wasn’t really explained to me, but I also didn’t really ask.
Describe your experience with your nurse at Center for Reproductive Health Spokane. (Assigned nurse: Miranda )
Miranda was excellent on all fronts. Unfortunately she transitioned to a new role partway into my treatment. At that point I was assigned to a rotating staff of coordinators rather than just one person. That was a little confusing, but understandable since it seemed they were a bit short staffed at the time.
Describe your experience with Center for Reproductive Health Spokane.
This clinic is a well oiled machine! Communication was always timely and it was easy to get in touch. They do a great job serving patients from a wide geographic area and are good at coordinating with local OB offices when needed. That said, I only ever got the feeling that my nurse coordinator and one of the front office gals knew who I was. The rest of the care I received felt pretty impersonal. Morning clinic time can feel like a cattle call. So many patients and literal stalls with A/B/C labels where you wait for a 5 minute ultrasound. On the one hand I do appreciate the efficiency, on the other hand it does stink to feel like a number when your fertility situation is unique and sensitive.
Describe your experience with your monitoring appointments at Center for Reproductive Health Spokane.
Cattle call starting at 7am. Highly efficient, I was often in and out by 7:30.
Describe the costs associated with your care under Edwin Robins at Center for Reproductive Health Spokane.
CRH offers a single cycle or a multi-cycle option. We chose the single option which was around 14k direct to the clinic, believe the multi-cycle option was around 19k. We had some additional separate fees for medications, embryo storage, sedation and PGS testing. We also did some of the monitoring at our local clinic so we paid for that separately. Altogether the total cost was probably somewhere in the 20-25k ballpark. I was lucky to have some fertility benefits through work, CRH was very accommodating in providing the necessary documentation required for me to access these benefits.
Describe Edwin Robins's approach to eSET (elective single embryo transfer) vs. multiple embryo transfer at Center for Reproductive Health Spokane.
It seems that the clinic very strongly prefers single embryo transfer which was aligned with our goals. Multiple embryo transfer was never discussed.

Describe the specific things that went wrong at Center for Reproductive Health Spokane.
When my original care coordinator transitioned, I was transitioned to the general team rather than one specific care coordinator. Occasionally I would get multiple calls on the same day for the same purpose, and there was a minimal amount of confusion around when I needed to stop medications as a result.

we lost complete faith in this clinic [Center for Reproductive Health Spokane]. How was your experience with Edwin Robins at Center for Reproductive Health Spokane?
In our initial consult he spoke over our heads but we left there with him telling us our chances of success with him were 65-70% live birth with donor eggs. Interestingly, the information he reported nationally in 2019 with donor eggs painted a very drastically different picture. Since reporting is always a couple years behind that was the most current year we could view. We felt lied to after seeing his documented success (or should I say failure) at a fraction of that. Also, my spouse had a vasectomy which Dr. Robins did an in-office procedure himself to remove sperm. After a year of working with him, $25,000 of wasted time & money along with zero sucess we switched clinics (where we were pregnant in 3 months, on our first try, and had several embryos to use later). This doctor suggested we use a urologist & get a fresh sperm sample which we did. The urologist did a completely different procedure & our fertilization rates & embryo numbers went up dramatically! Shame on Dr. Robins for not letting us know about this other procedure that a urologist can do that improved our success tremendously! We lost complete faith in him & his lab when none of our numbers met national statistics using donor eggs. We felt he was never invested in our journey or sucess & felt he was all about the money.
What's one piece of advice would you give a prospective patient of Edwin Robins at Center for Reproductive Health Spokane?
Don't go to him! Go elsewhere!
During treatment, were you treated like a number or a human with Edwin Robins at Center for Reproductive Health Spokane?
The man has zero personality, is cold, and borderline rude if you ask any questions during morning clinic monitoring appointments. I rarely saw him & my nurse couldn't answer my questions so I'm not sure when I was supposed to ask.
Describe the protocols Edwin Robins used in your cycles at Center for Reproductive Health Spokane and their degree of success.
We used donor eggs because I had decreased ovarian reserve. Their website lists a donor coordinator but we never met her. You order frozen eggs in lots from a national company (which I do not recommend). We did this twice with zero success. You are completely on your own in this process. His office was basically clueless about the website & they never ever walked us through the genetic screening process for my spouse. So, the entire year we were with his office & selecting donor eggs we thought we needed to pick a donor who wasn't a carrier (not true), which totally narrowed our selection. The whole experience was horrible. Total waste of our time & money. Our new clinic had in-house donors, knew every single donor personally & their cycle history, the eggs were retrieved & fertilized fresh, & we were walked through every single step. IVF couples need to know there is a huge difference in how the donor egg process works at different clinics.
Describe your experience with your nurse at Center for Reproductive Health Spokane. (Assigned nurse: Alissa)
I got the impression my nurse was afraid to ask Dr. Robins any questions. Whenever I had too many questions or ones she couldn't answer she would suggest I set up a $325 office consult with him vs just saying , "Good questions, let me ask him & I'll get back to you". One time she even gave me completely inaccurate information regarding the covid vaccine. Luckily, I saw Dr. Robins that day in morning clinic & he gave me the opposite instructions. Communication between the nurses & doctor seem to be nil. During my transfer, Alissa almost seemed to distract me by talking nonstop about my work vs telling me what was happening with my transfer. I later found out from other patients at that same clinic they got a step-by-step of the transfer & got to watch it on the screen. I got none of that which, in hindsight, makes me question a lot of things about that (unsuccessful) transfer!
Describe your experience with Center for Reproductive Health Spokane.
Billing was a nightmare. It took them over a year to successfully bill my initial consult & I ended up having my insurance company call them to resolve it! When we transfered clinics it was a disaster trying to get them to send my records. They ended up going piece-meal. The financial coordinator was very unorganized & knew very little about the donor egg process. If you need to use donor eggs, do not go here! You will be left to navigate that process completely on your own!
Describe the costs associated with your care under Edwin Robins at Center for Reproductive Health Spokane.
$25000 for ivf with donor eggs.
Describe Edwin Robins's approach to eSET (elective single embryo transfer) vs. multiple embryo transfer at Center for Reproductive Health Spokane.
Dr. Robins will only do single embryo transfers & isn't open to anything else.

Overall, we lost complete faith in this clinic. It was poorly run, success rates using donor eggs are poor here (see the national reporting numbers for yourself & not his website), the doctor is borderline rude & disrespectful, billing was horribly delayed & inaccurate, I was told there was no clinic manager when I called to discuss problems, it felt like no one was invested in this journey with us, & in the end we felt our year there was a complete waste of time & money.

Not a warm beside manner persay. He [Dr. Robins] was very informative and answered every question I had...He also had a negative view of egg freezing vs. embryo banking. I had concerns over being with my previous partner longterm and wanted to go an egg freezing route and that was discouraged. However, embryo banking does offer higher odds for the production of a healthy child...
This clinic [Center for Reproductive Health Spokane] also runs a male cryopreservation clinic in the same building. The same staff from this office also seems to be employed by the cryo office. We had a very hard time getting ahold of anyone to even schedule an appointment. They are not available to answer calls and calls may not be returned...Unlike some offices the intended use of a gestational carrier is not looked down upon (or outright refused)...
How was your experience with Edwin Robins at Center for Reproductive Health Spokane?
I felt as though he was a competent doctor and would do a great job medically. It was certain actions during the internal inspection of my ovaries that made me slightly uncomfortable. He also had a negative view of egg freezing vs. embryo banking. I had concerns over being with my previous partner longterm and wanted to go an egg freezing route and that was discouraged. However, embryo banking does offer higher odds for the production of a healthy child. So, I can understand his bias.
What's one piece of advice would you give a prospective patient of Edwin Robins at Center for Reproductive Health Spokane?
Do your research before visiting and have your questions prepared. Be as informed about the process as you can, and what your expectations will be after.
During treatment, were you treated like a number or a human with Edwin Robins at Center for Reproductive Health Spokane?
Not a warm beside manner persay. He was very informative and answered every question I had. I believe he would be a great doctor to move forward with thur this procedure. I was troubled by a specific behavior during the internal ultrasound but it may have been normal.
Describe the protocols Edwin Robins used in your cycles at Center for Reproductive Health Spokane and their degree of success.
I have only been in for the initial consult and ovarian reserve ultrasound. I was told I still have options but due to my age I need to make decisions now.
Describe your experience with the nursing staff at Center for Reproductive Health Spokane.
Some were great and some were not good. I don't remember names, but it was a mixed bag.
Describe your experience with Center for Reproductive Health Spokane.
The doctor seems confident. The staff will rely information needed. Unlike some offices the intended use of a gestational carrier is not looked down upon (or outright refused). I am unaware of the office's LGBTQ friendliness, but at least their policies seem inline for a positive fertility outcome if using a gestational carrier.
Describe the costs associated with your care under Edwin Robins at Center for Reproductive Health Spokane.
The cost of embryo banking (12k plus medication) and egg freezing cost was also above average by significant amount more than KindBody. But I think that it is still within reason.
Describe Edwin Robins's approach to eSET (elective single embryo transfer) vs. multiple embryo transfer at Center for Reproductive Health Spokane.
My doctor said that he would only transfer a single embryo at a time. He seemed very confident that only one was needed.

Success w/ Doc Too early to know
Dr. Robins is very knowledgeable but at times I felt he was rambling or giving way too many details that went over our heads, especially during our initial consult meeting. For me as a patient it means a lot to connect with my doctors and feel like our relationship is more than the procedures being completed, which also facilitated being comfortable to ask question and open up a dialogue. I don’t feel that Dr. Robins totally fits that bill. Visits are a quick in and out during the IUI’s and his staff ends up making up for his personality short falls. As a physician he’s knowledgeable and experienced which makes me trust his treatment planning decisions and that he’s guiding us in the right direction towards achieving pregnancy.
Strengths: the clinic [Center for Reproductive Health] is very prompt and organized. Scheduling is easy and they answer the phones in a timely manner. All the front office women are a pleasure to work with. Weaknesses: I don’t feel that financials were discussed very thoroughly, and that there was never a time set aside to discuss the treatment plan with the financial coordinator.

Don’t walk in letting emotions drive your decisions. Take a deep breath and approach your visits with a clear focused mind because that’s how Dr. Robins treats it.

Dr. Robins has a very mild personality, is knowledgeable and experienced. However, he doesn’t connect well on a personal level through the midst of treatment which can leave you feeling like a number at times. But he has surrounded himself with great staff that help to clear all confusion and answer questions.
Describe the protocols Edwin Robins used in your cycles at Center for Reproductive Health Spokane and their degree of success.
We’ve completed 2 IUI cycles using 5mg letrozole for cycle day 3-8. Follicle scan on day 11 and based on those, we’ve triggered that afternoon with 5000 units of hcg followed with insemination the next afternoon in cycle day 12.
Describe your experience with your nurse at Center for Reproductive Health Spokane. (Assigned nurse: Summer)
Summer is an absolute blessing. She’s compassionate, caring and prompt with her responses (even when I email her over and over!). She takes the time to sit down next to you in the waiting room to ask how you’re doing which means the world during this isolating time in your life. She treats you like a friend and cares about your journey.

The costs for an IUI cycle was estimated to be $1200 full cost but with discounts from insurance networks discounts and such it cost us about $700-$800 per cycle. And we don’t have any fertility coverage through insurance.

The doctor [Edwin Robins] was very detailed in discussing with me my particular situation. He looked at all aspects of my case and directed me in the best path for me. He also would remember me during different consultations and appointments. ... He was definitely very realistic and blunt in regards to what I could expect, but that is something that I very much appreciated. He was almost always on time and very efficient.
The monitoring appointments were first thing in the morning. ... They were very efficient about making sure each individual was seen. ... How was your experience with Edwin Robins at Center for Reproductive Health Spokane?
The doctor did not have the best "bed side manner". He was definitely very realistic and blunt in regards to what I could expect, but that is something that I very much appreciated. He was almost always on time and very efficient.

Doctor Robins isn't "warm and feel-y", but he does a great job and gets the job done well.

I had a very typical IUI cycle and and a very typical IVF cycle.
Describe your experience with your nurse at Center for Reproductive Health Spokane. (Assigned nurse: Miranda )
The nursing staff, and my nurse in particular, were absolutely amazing. They are so kind and thoughtful. They were absolutely focused on me and how I was doing. They made sure that I was always comfortable and were very compassionate in the face of bad news.

The clinic was very clean and well organized. It was a very warm environment and everyone was very concerned with each individual patient. I liked how they had cycles set up. I knew what to expect each time I went in to an appointment and they made sure that I had access to whatever I needed, whether that be my nurse, the doctor, or the financial coordinators.
Describe your experience with your monitoring appointments at Center for Reproductive Health Spokane.
The monitoring appointments were first thing in the morning. This actually worked incredibly well for me as I lived approximately 1.5 hours away from my clinic. They were very efficient about making sure each individual was seen.
Describe the costs associated with your care under Edwin Robins at Center for Reproductive Health Spokane.
I had 3 IUIs which were about $1700 a piece. I am not sure if this included medication or not. The entire IVF cycle was approximately $25 including medications and chromosome testing. I will be going through another frozen embryo cycle later this year which will be about $4300 including medications.
Describe Edwin Robins's approach to eSET (elective single embryo transfer) vs. multiple embryo transfer at Center for Reproductive Health Spokane.

During treatment, were you treated like a number or a human with Edwin Robins at Center for Reproductive Health Spokane?
This clinic only batches patients and is not flexible at all when scheduling, something that was very difficult as I traveled quite far.
Describe the protocols Edwin Robins used in your cycles at Center for Reproductive Health Spokane and their degree of success.
I had an AFC of 12 prior to starting treatment. I stimmed for 10 day with follistim and low dose hcg. We ended up with 15 eggs and I was very pleased. However only 2 made it to blast on day 6 and day 7. Dr. Robbins refused to do a fresh transfer although I had 5 still goin on day 5 and had prepped for transfer.
Describe your experience with your nurse at Center for Reproductive Health Spokane. (Assigned nurse: Miranda)
My husband over heard the nurses talking during my egg retrieval that my choosing to do a fresh cycle would interfere with their christmas plans. I had several times shortly after that I could not get a hold of my nurse. There were several other staff members and nurses that I did find very nice and compassionate.

Success w/ Doc Too early to know
As others have noted, he’s [Dr. Edwin Robins] not a hand holder and relies on his nursing staff, which is necessary given the volume he manages. I was very impressed at my initial appointment; he had reviewed pages of records and discussed multiple options.... I previously had unsuccessful medicated cycles and one unsuccessful IUI. We went straight to stimulation with follistim and retrieval. We opted for ICSI and genetic testing, with a FET about 6 weeks later, one embryo transferred. Results to be seen!
Everyone seems to be on the same team [at Ctr for Repro Endo & Fertility], with upbeat positive attitudes. They seem genuinely invested in your success. Billing was a bit of an issue, but they were always responsive to my questions and requests for information.... They [the nurses] keep this place running. My nurse was amazing, always available, supportive, and had so much more knowledge and information than I expected. I could not have done it without her.

What's one piece of advice would you give a prospective patient of Edwin Robins at Center for Reproductive Health Spokane?
Don’t be offended if he doesn’t speak to you during morning clinics. I was taken aback at first, but with 20 people in the waiting room, efficiency is key.

I had very open communication with the nursing team. It’s easy to feel like a number during morning clinics but I always had a chance to have questions answered later in the day.

Dr. Robins is a very caring and dedicated physician. He has a personal level of understanding the desire to have a family and all of the things his IVF patients are going through. His direct communication is clear and concise but not without feeling....Dr. Robins begins with birth control to regulate and control the cycle. used a follitropin and low dose HCG. The follitropin to stimulate the follicle growth and the low dose hcg to help with egg maturity. He monitors follicle growth very closely which is nice because it gives more opportunities for adjustments to be made if needed.
The clinics [Center for Reproductive Endo & Fertility] demonstrates a caring nature and a clear desire to help their patients. If there were one thing I felt would have eased my experience and nerves it would be a sit down with Dr. Robins after the stim meds began. I know this would be difficult as it is a very busy time but it is also a very stressful time and as wonderful as the nurse coordinator is I still felt a little time with Dr. Robins would have alleviated many questions and concerns.

Dr. Robins is a very caring and dedicated physician. He has a personal level of understanding the desire to have a family and all of the things his IVF patients are going through. His direct communication is clear and concise but not without feeling. I really appreciated the calming demeanor he had with each procedure I had. Having my first IVF experience there were many things that made me anxious and nervous. Dr. Robins was amazing at taking the time to explain things before they happened and showing compassion when he knew things were uncomfortable or painful. During a stressful time when a cyst presented before the IVF stim he knew I was nervous and even though he must have been pressed for time he took moments to come stand by my side and discuss what was going to happen and give me reassurance. Dr. Robins is a physician that can understand what his patients are going through on a level that most cannot, this is what sets him aside and makes him an amazing doctor.
What's one piece of advice would you give a prospective patient of Edwin Robins at Center for Reproductive Health Spokane?
Always be upfront and ask all your questions. He and his staff are friendly and amazing at their jobs.
During treatment, were you treated like a number or a human with Edwin Robins at Center for Reproductive Health Spokane?
Dr. Robins came to the waiting room to greet me and take me back to the office for the consultation. He was amazing through the whole process in sensing how I was feeling and asking. He always had a calm demeanor but was very straight forward with all information. His staff were also very friendly and remembered my name on each encounter.

Dr. Robins clinic was as affordable as most clinics. IVF is an expensive treatment due to all the medications and close monitoring it requires. Our first round was around $12,000.
Describe Edwin Robins's approach to eSET (elective single embryo transfer) vs. multiple embryo transfer at Center for Reproductive Health Spokane.
Dr. Robins has a wonderful success rate and will basically ask if you want multiple embryos transferred “do you want twins?”

I was able to get assistance through my health insurance. However, we had a few medications that were prescribed and not covered. This cost roughly $2,000 out of pocket. We also paid for all genetic screening and chromosome testing which totaled $3,500

My experience with him [Dr. Robins] as an individual was fine. He explained things in detail and was direct....Dr. Robins is fine as a doctor but I wouldn't recommend his office at all. Communication and overload is a clear problem. He did explain our risks, or challenges and treatment steps. I appreciated his detailed explanations. He would be more successful if he took less clients and comminicated better with nurses and staff.
Besides the fact that we just received a bill 15 months after the exam, we also remember getting someone else's bill sent to our address. They [Ctr for Repro Endo and Fertility] were so unorganized.... Skilled nurses kept leaving and only newbies remained.... About $1000 for exams like Antral Follicle Count and baseline US and blood work. $3000 upfront for PGD probes to be completed which was reimbursed by insurance.

Be prepared to call often and wait for answers. Our nurses kept quitting!

My experience with him as an individual was fine. He explained things in detail and was direct. However his staff was unresponsive, hard to reach, confused, disorganized and even dishonest. His operations made us feel like a number not him directly.

We planned ICSI with PGD
Describe your experience with your nurse at Center for Reproductive Health Spokane. (Assigned nurse: LeAnn 1st, Karen 2nd, Summer 3rd)
I could really share a lot here! Our nurses kept quitting! First we had LeAnn who was wonderful and nice but obviously too busy. I had to call email and call again for answers. She was helpful though. Then she quit and we were assigned to Karen, WHO WAS AMAZING! I loved her. She was caring, understanding and helpful but also too busy. All communications at Robins' office are disjointed and delayed. THEN out of nowhere she quit! I called her on day 1 of my cycle and she "was no longer working here." My stomach dropped and they transferred me to our 3rd new nurse, Summer, who quit a week later too!!! This is when we decided to switch docs!! If they pass me around like a "hot-potato" and can't communicate then how can I trust them with my embryos! I couldn't.
Describe your experience with Center for Reproductive Health Spokane.
Again, I think Dr.Robins is a skilled RE when it comes to knowledge and hard skills but I assume his soft skills are horrible. Bad leadership and communication with his staff seemed apparent. Skilled nurses kept leaving and only newbies remained. ALSO, we just got a bill this week from an exam in 2016 (15 months ago)!! We're shocked. Billing was the worst of all. I do not trust their financial coordinator.

When I called to ask Lora if it was our bill with the wrong name or the wrong name/address on the bill, she confirmed it was someone else's bill and asked me to shred it. Are they sending my personal info to the wrong people too?

Dr. Robins was a great Doctor. He was very thorough with his consultation process and got all the information from us that he needed before even taking with us. He was very knowledgeable of all things infertility which gave us great confidence in his recommendations as to our process. He was very straight forward but also sympathetic with us as well. His own personal experience has helped him to connect with us in an individual level.
I loved that they [Center for Reproductive Endo & Fertility] had a few discounted package programs available for multiple attempts if the first one failed. Freezing cost was a bit expensive but still reasonably appropriate with a great payment plan option. ... The waiting room was usually full and sometimes there was no where to wate and sit but the staff did there best to work with everyone.

I don’t exactly remember everything, but I remember doing 1 cycle of pills & injections with timed intercourse but only because I couldn’t manage to get into the clinic for an iui that cycle. I also did 5 IUIs with a combination of different pills and injection doses. I used provera, letrezole, follostim, low dose hcg , and ganrelix in several cycles with different dosages. I had no positive results so we moved to IVF after determina that I was not ovulating on my own due to my PCOS and hormone imbalance. I was able to have 33 eggs retrieved and 15 actually go on to day 3 embryos after icsi and only 4 viable embryos on day 5 in which I transferred two the first time and had a singleton birth and the other two embryos frozen the. Transfered when my first child 8 months. I then had the other two transferred and had twins born 11 weeks early. All my babies are happy and healthy despite the crazy journey thanks to Dr. Robins and his amazing staff!

The nursing staff was so caring and kind and made us feel always very comfortable.

I alsways tried to show up just as they opened so I could be one of the firsts ones in and out because of the traveling I had to do back and forth. It was pretty quick and they were very considerate with my needs.

The first and second and third FET [with Dr. Robins] all resulted in pregnancy but I miscarried them and the 3rd FET was a blighted ovum...was not a man of many words. He was more clinical than personable. He was very professional and does all the ultrasounds himself. Which I thought was cool because he wanted to see for himself. I wouldn't say he was mean or uncaring but definitely not warm and fuzzy.
For labs and ultrasound it was a first come first serve thing at 7 AM so there were times you had to wait longer than others [at Center for Reproductive Endo & Fertility]...The staff was always super kind and caring and willing to give hugs when needed. They recognized and remembered me when I came in which was nice to know they knew who I was...The care coordinator was very kind and willing to answer all my questions when I called but many times I had a hard time getting a call back. Karen a nurse there gave the best hugs. She was always upbeat and willing to encourage me throughout the process. The staff was amazing at this clinic! Loved them all. Only complaint was not receiving timely call backs with lab work results.

I used follistim I create eggs, Lupron to keep me from ovukating, estrogen pills to thicken lining, Progesterone in oil to sustain pregnanct, and ganirelix to prevent premature egg release and HCG to produce egg release The first cycle and retrieval I only got 9 mature eggs which resulted in 3 embryos and the second cycle I got 22 eggs which resulted in 12 embryos. I overstimulated both cycles so had to freeze all both times. For FET I used estrogen, progesterone in oil, doxycycline, medrol, and baby aspirin. The first and second and third FET all resulted in pregnancy but I miscarried them and the 3rd FET was a blighted ovum.

She was always upbeat and willing to encourage me throughout the process. The staff was amazing at this clinic! Loved them all. Only complaint was not receiving timely call backs with lab work results.
Describe your experience with Center for Reproductive Health Spokane.
They did not offer any loan options had to pay a up front. They offered a discount for 3 tries which I would recommend patients do. They were very professional, and it was nice seeing the doctor every time I went in for ultrasounds. They were great at education of procedures and medication as well. For labs and ultrasound it was a first come first serve thing at 7 AM so there were times you had to wait longer than others.
Describe the costs associated with your care under Edwin Robins at Center for Reproductive Health Spokane.
For 3 tries it was approx $18,000 Meds for retrieval we're about $3000-$5000 Meds for FET were around $600 All monitoring labs and u/s were included in the price.

Dr. Robins is the best at what he does. He is matter of fact but well versed in fertility treatment. He cares about his patients and provided us with excellent care throughout. When we had some bleeding after discharge, he didn't hesitate in bringing us back to the clinic to check if everything was okay as we hadn't yet been seen by my OB. His care and reassurance was a gift in that scare...Dr. Robins knew us personally and our nurse became like a member of our family.
Morning monitoring [at CREF] was well organized and easy to get through...IUIs were around $500. Fresh transfer, including retrieval and meds, was around $15,000. Frozen transfer was around $5,000. Yearly cryo cost was around $500...LeAnn was compassionate and caring throughout our care to the point that when she was out the day of our pregnancy test due to the holiday she requested she be the one to call us with the news as she didn't want anyone else telling us regardless of the outcome.

We waited on our embryos until day six for transfer and freezing to give them a bit more time. These embryos resulted in two healthy pregnancies, though one ended in a still birth at full term due to a cord accident. we have one embryo left and we hope to return to the clinic for one last transfer as we would trust no one else with our care.

She is an important person in our daughter's life and came to visit us after the still birth of our second daughter to check on us. We continue to stay in touch with her and are so grateful for her.

First visit [with Dr. Edwin Robins] included a sit down office meeting, discussing family histories, treatments tried, outlining the direction of treatment we would receive. Second visit was a hysterogram procedure to ensure that my tubes were open. Third visit was for ultrasound to ensure that eggs were developing appropriately, and fourth visit was for our first ultrasound of our little one!!... is experienced, and I felt very assured in his knowledge and expertise.
I was treated with respect, empathy, and care [at Center for Reproductive Endo & Fertility]. My questions were always answered fully. I was recognized by support staff when they saw me...[The nurses were] Always compassionate and quick to answer any questions I may have. Delivered lab results with care and consideration. Always answered emailed or phone call questions quickly...Great location and atmosphere. Early morning labs so you don't miss work. They have beverages available every morning to help put you at ease. Full of compassionate and caring individuals. I have recommended this clinic to family members who also experienced good care. Don't wait for more failed cycles from clomid/femara treatments prescribed by your OB. Schedule an appointment!

We had decided to do the chromosome test to increase our odds of the transfer working and he [Dr Robins] bluntly told us, "unless you want twins, I would only transfer one embryo." That was good to hear that he had a lot of confidence in our transfer working, and that he wasn't trying to crank out as many babies as possible! Truthfully, he seems like he knows what the heck he's doing, so I didn't care what his bedside manner was like....I just wanted to get pregnant. The fact that he has a great staff also makes his bedside manner less important to me. I would definitely recommend people go to Dr. Robins. I personally know about 5 couples who have had success with him as their doc! (I live in Montana where we don't have a lot of other options, but luckily, he seems to make it happen!)
Unfortunately the clinic [Center for Reproductive Endocrinology & Fertility] is three hours from where I live so that makes things a bit tricky. However, with Dr. Robins being one of the only fertility docs near my area I just made it work. They specifically help you through the process being long distance (I remember going through a powerpoint report of the process with Karen,) and she was available to answer my questions during that presentation. They also work closely with our local hospital to get the correct lab results they need. They have the process down pat accommodating for the distance.
How was your experience with Edwin Robins at Center for Reproductive Health Spokane?
During our first meeting, Dr. Robins spoke for a long time to my husband and I about the process and the odds of a pregnancy happening. This was by far the most time I ever spent with him and in hindsight I am impressed at how long we were able to talk to him. He was always very calm and kind, but you could kind of tell he could do his job with his eyes closed, which isn't a bad thing in my opinion! His bedside manner isn't terrific (he isn't much of a hand holder,) but he gives you straight answers and I think is realistic about your chances. We had decided to do the chromosome test to increase our odds of the transfer working and he bluntly told us, "unless you want twins, I would only transfer one embryo." What's one piece of advice would you give a prospective patient of Edwin Robins at Center for Reproductive Health Spokane?
As someone else said, if you want hand holding and a very gentle bedside manner he probably isn't the doc for you. But if you can handle the facts of your situation and want to get pregnant then he's great.
During treatment, were you treated like a number or a human with Edwin Robins at Center for Reproductive Health Spokane?
You have to be realistic in knowing that Dr. Robins' goal is to get as many women pregnant as possible so it's kind of a well oiled machine. With that said, I think they definitely have adequate staff to make sure you are greeted with a smile, and your questions are answered in a timely fashion. When you go to morning clinic it is not the time to ask questions, so there is kind of a "herd" environment, but they absolutely prep you for this. As I said, they also give you a dedicated nurse who dialogues with you throughout the whole process.
Describe the protocols Edwin Robins used in your cycles at Center for Reproductive Health Spokane and their degree of success.
I originally started with two rounds of IUI (no hormones for me,) which were unsuccessful. Robins said our problem was simply the fertilization of the egg since I seemed fine and my husband had enough healthy sperm. The ICSI process eliminated that problem and we ended up with 6 embryos. We chose to do the chromosome test which delayed the transfer about two months and resulted in us using a frozen embryo for the transfer. The chromosome test showed 5/6 embryos were normal, and all were girls except one! Very fun to be able to know the gender, in my opinion. Because we knew the quality of the embryos Robins recommended one embryo for transfer to avoid having twins. It was a success and our baby was born in 2015. I still have four embryos stored with the clinic and will be going back for round two in early 2017. I have absolutely no concerns about going through the process again with his clinic.
Describe your experience with your nurse at Center for Reproductive Health Spokane. (Assigned nurse: Christina and Karen)
The whole staff is great. They are very responsive to my questions, whether about money, drugs, or just the process. As was their on call nurse, who I used several times while administering the drugs to myself. I am the kind of person who really likes to know exactly what is happening and they were very patient with all of my questions. I'm not sure how many patients each nurse is assigned, but I never felt like I was being rushed off the phone, or that my questions were bothersome. It is a great nursing staff, for sure.

Monitoring was a well oiled machine. They tried to help with the long distance by having you do labs and some monitoring at your local hospital which was very helpful.
Describe the costs associated with your care under Edwin Robins at Center for Reproductive Health Spokane.
Amazingly my company insurance paid for one round of IVF in our benefits. We did pay for the chromosome test, which was about $3k. I don't remember what total costs were but for baby #2 they have already given me an estimate on the embryo transfer costs and I'm anticipating between $4-5,000.

Describe the specific things that went wrong at Center for Reproductive Health Spokane.
The clinic had sent a letter to my OB detailing the status of my embryos and they had the wrong number of embryos listed on the letter (they listed less than I knew I had.) This wasn't a huge deal, but was something I wanted corrected for my file. They sent an updated letter.

Dr. Robins is straightforward into the point. He is very thorough in explaining processes and procedures. I wouldn’t say he’s a bubbly personality. But he always treated us with kindness and respect and I could tell he made the effort to make us feel comfortable to the best of his ability. I never felt as though his bedside manner was cold towards me or that he treated me like a number. My husband and I feel blessed to have worked with him, even though in the end pregnancy was not achieved.
One of the best things about this clinic [Center for Reproductive Endo & Fertility] I feel is how hands-on Dr. Robins is with each client. He did everything ultrasound and ran most of our tests... he has an incredible nursing staff and office staff. The one thing that bugged me about the whole process was that after we had paid tens of thousands of dollars, I had to pay to follow up appointments with him just to talk about how things went. I feel like after spending that much money and going through so much Heartache it would’ve been nice for him to just visit with us For us to not feel it was about the money. But I also understand that his time is valuable

What's one piece of advice would you give a prospective patient of Edwin Robins at Center for Reproductive Health Spokane?
Good vice I received from my OB/GYN in regards to Dr. Robins is to not expect warm fuzzies from him. Is nursing staff is incredible and they will make you feel warm and fuzzy. His job is to do everything he can to help you achieve pregnancy and become parents. And he is one of the best. It’s more important to have a doctor that is the best at what he does. Leave the emotion to the nurses.
During treatment, were you treated like a number or a human with Edwin Robins at Center for Reproductive Health Spokane?
I wouldn’t consider Dr. Robins a warm and fuzzy personality. However, my husband and I could both tell he tried to make an effort, to the best of his ability, to make us feel comfortable and help us understand exactly what was going on. He didn’t sugarcoat anything, but he also had no intention of trying to be blunt or offensive. I was told his bedside manner was on the colder side before I ever went into see him. But my husband and I couldn’t have been happier with how he, his nurses, and his office staff treated us. I would rather have a doctor that is concerned about being his best and giving us his best and just trying to be our friends. And even though things didn’t result with the baby for us, I still can’t Speak more highly of our experience That’s Dr. Robin’s patients.
Describe your experience with your nurse at Center for Reproductive Health Spokane. (Assigned nurse: Leanne)
There aren’t enough kind words that I could speak of to describe our nurse Leann. She was warm and compassionate, she was thorough and her explanation and always took her time when talking to us to make sure all of our questions were answered. Just the tone of her voice spoke prace To us throughout this process. She was absolutely in a corner and cheering us on. She made every phone call and greeted us so warmly every time we interacted with her. We could not have been more blessed to have her as our nurse throughout the process, especially when she had to deliver sad news to us.

One of the best things about this clinic I feel is how hands-on Dr. Robins is with each client. He did everything ultrasound and ran most of our tests and self. We met with him and his office before and after each cycle. I believe he is an incredible doctor I also know that he has an incredible nursing staff and office staff. Describe your experience with your monitoring appointments at Center for Reproductive Health Spokane.
These appointments were done first come first serve. I don’t feel like it was a Cattlecall. And I know that if I needed to get in earlier I just needed to get there earlier. They were early morning so I could go before work. It was easy and convenient. The appointment some selves weren’t that long, but Dr. Robins did every ultrasound so he could see exactly what was going on and be involved in the process. They did express that it wasn’t a time to chat and ask lots of questions, But to let him do the ultrasound and then we would receive a phone call to talk about how things went and what the results were and what to change meds and dosages to if needed.
Describe Edwin Robins's approach to eSET (elective single embryo transfer) vs. multiple embryo transfer at Center for Reproductive Health Spokane.
With each of our transfers we did two embryos. Dr. Robins made it clear that he was not a fan of doing more than two embryos. Because our experience did not end with the baby, I sometimes wonder if we should have done single transfers each time. That was an option that Dr. Robins was in favor of. However , he was supportive Us doing a two embryo transfer.

Describe the specific things that went wrong at Center for Reproductive Health Spokane.
The only hiccup we had was with our second transfer. We got a positive pregnancy result, however our levels were high enough. So the nurse who gave us the phone call, wasn’t our nurse, told us to wait and see if our labs would change over the weekend. When I talk to my nurse, who is out of town at the time, she knew that things weren’t going to work out based on my lab results and thought that having us wait gave us a full sense of hope. She expressed that she wish that Nurse had told us to wait and see what happens over the weekend. And she was right, we did not keep that pregnancy. This little hiccup is not something that I have hard feelings towards

Dr robins doesn’t have a great bed side personality. He doesn’t give the warm and fuzzies but he does give the facts which is a good alternative. The treatment plan is discussed with nursing staff rather than him so I can no rate this. I saw him once a cycle and that was for a sonogram.... Dr Robins does his own US’s and during those, I felt like I couldn’t ask questions and that he didn’t know any of my history. It felt like it would be if I had a new sonographer each visit, someone that didn’t know me.
Staff is wonderful [at Center for Reproductive Endo & Fertility], wait times can be long, seems to have a lot of turnover though. Doctor communicates with his staff then they call you. Might need additional appointments if you wish to see the doctor or speak with him.... I only did stimulated cycles. After 7 cycles I called it off myself because I was having the same negative outcome each time. With no new information or explanations from the doctor or staff. It was clomid, injectables then trigger.

It took two months to get the initial consultation [at Center for Reproductive Endocrinology & Fertility], BUT once we got in things moved quite quickly. Also, after my miscarriage I was given quick appointments which helped me quickly become pregnant again which I was able to carry to term. [The nurses were] very personable, prompt, knowledgeable.

What's one piece of advice would you give a prospective patient of Edwin Robins at Center for Reproductive Health Spokane?
If you want a competent doctor who is going to lead you through your fertility journey while giving you all the information you need to make informed decisions, Dr. Robins is the doctor for you. If you want someone who is going to sugarcoat things, go elsewhere.
During treatment, were you treated like a number or a human with Edwin Robins at Center for Reproductive Health Spokane?
Whenever I met with Dr. Robins he was very attentive to my fertility needs. He took the time to answer my questions and fully explain treatment options. While during morning clinic it was s bit more like a number, I understand getting 30 women through blood work and ultrasounds in 2 hours won't be as personal. After my miscarriage, Dr.Robins could not have been more sympathetic and caring. I trusted his opinion 100%.

I felt he [Dr. Robbins] was very professional and had my best interest in mind when caring for me. He may not be very chatty but he answered all my questions when asked and was very approachable.
My nurse [at Center for Reproductive Health] always answered my emails very quickly and if I ever needed to call or contact her she was almost always available...There are a lot of women who come in for morning clinic at the same time. I knew this and they had prepared me for this.

There are a lot of women who come in for morning clinic at the same time. I knew this and they had prepared me for this. I didn't feel like we were being "herded like cattle" as some women said but knew that this is just how clinics work and was happy that this many women were able to be helped.

Dr Robins is quick and all business, but he allowed us to pursue other options and tweak my cycles accordingly. He was open to new ideas that were definitely out of his comfort zone. I ended up having another reproductive immunologist oversea much of my treatment protocol and Dr Robins was open to collaboration... Be ok with quick morning clinic appts and not a warm, fuzzy doctor
It's [Center for Reproductive Endo and Fertility - Spokane] an in and out, cattle call type clinic. As long as you don't need warm and fuzzy, you'll do great. Plan on doing a lot of your own research and don't be afraid to ask questions and challenge protocols. Remember that every person is different and no one protocol is right for every single person.... Other than Karen, the staff is completely unorganized and slightly dysfunctional

Dr Robins took time to make sure that my husband and I understood the diagnosis. He was also very informative about our pregnancy chances with different infertility treatments.
Be prepared for an emotional journey. Dr. Robins and his staff [at the Center for Reproductive Endocrinology & Fertility] do their best to help you through it. They require a visit with a psychologist prior to transfer. I wish that I had been to see one sooner in my process. She was incredible. The team always welcome us by name. They checked in frequently by phone since I live about 2 hours away.

Describe the protocols Edwin Robins used in your cycles at Center for Reproductive Health Spokane and their degree of success.
I started with a progesterone test on CD 2 to make sure my body was ready to start treatment. I took Letrozole on CD5-CD9 to develop eggs. On CD 10-11 I took Follistim to give my eggs a final boost. On CD14 I went and had my ultrasound done and was given a trigger shot as my eggs were ready. On CD15 my husband and I went for our IUI. It was so quick and painless. I laid on the table for 10 minutes afterward to allow the speed to reach my ovaries. 2 weeks later I had a pregnancy test

He [Dr. Edwin Robins] wanted to do 2 natural rounds of iui and if those didn't work we would do a medicated round, I dont have anymore money so I we didn't do another round... he does know what he is doing, when I would come in to have my IUIs don't it was a quick in and out process I didn't really talk to him much...I would order the doner sperm then come in for a pelvic ultrasound to see how big my follicles were then I would have my blood drawn and have the iui that day or the next day, I always felt like the timing was off and thats why I never got pregnant.
they [staff at Center for Reproductive Health] made me feel like I have a chance they are very personal able and friendly...Summer [nurse] IS AMAZING i really appreciate her and her comunication when I had a question she always had an answer she was very patient with me and my frustrations. Everyone at the center made you feel very welcomed...The natural IUI was the cheep route iui, sperm prep, ultrasound, blood draws cost about 1,300 that's not including the separate purchase of sperm 1st time was 625.00 the second time 695.00 this includes the shipping fee at the time of 100 dollars.

The strengths i saw is that they all work as a team, the weaknesses they have is that I have had a few surprise bills, I was not happy with the 1st one was an oops from the person as the desk who didn't charge me right and the second is i got generic testing done they said would cost 99 dollars and I got a bill for over 500, they didn't change the price that was given from the genetic testing place im still working with that.
