This is the most recent data from the CDC. The CDC cautions that it should not be used to compare doctors and clinics. This data represents the outcomes of IVF cycles when using a person's own eggs.
For more information please see our FAQs.
Where you see a “?” on the chart, a clinic has done fewer than 20 cycles in this category and age range, so the CDC says showing percentages from this small data set would be misleading and unreliable.
Dr. Greene is very knowledgeable and caring. The first time my husband and I went to see him, we were not ready to proceed. And he suggested we try it naturally for a year. After a year, we still haven't gotten a success yet, so we went back to see him a month ago.... After meeting Dr. Greene, we are excited to begin the process of working with Conceptions to conceive ourselves! I would highly recommend Conceptions in Lafayette, CO, Dr. Greene and his team of knowledgeable staff and nurses.

How was your experience with Robert Greene at RMA of Colorado - Conceptions Reproductive Associates?
We have actually begun the process of seeking IVF consultation twice now. We first met with Dr. Greene a couple of years ago and life happened, so we discontinued our appointments at that time. Fast forward two years and my wife and I are in a place where we were ready to pursue this as an option and remembered Dr. Greene and his team at Conceptions in Lafayette, CO. They did a great job of explaining the process, discussing possible issues, and making us feel like this was a common problem for couples to have. My wife and I are a bit younger than some others who are seeking this treatment – we are both in our early 30s – but they have been great at explaining to us some of the reasons, causes, and solutions to the issue we have had.
They have been very accommodating to our schedule, have followed up with us regarding appointments and testing as well as discussing payment options – this is an expensive process! After meeting Dr. Greene, we are excited to begin the process of working with Conceptions to conceive ourselves! I would highly recommend Conceptions in Lafayette, CO, Dr. Greene and his team of knowledgeable staff and nurses.

The team has been very helpful in scheduling, explaining the financial aspect, explaining the IVF and/or diagnostic process and has worked with our insurance to determine what we can get covered during this time. I would suggest to new patients to call your insurance yourself upfront to check the coverage that they offer – I work in healthcare so I understand some of the insurance lingo better than others, but it’s always great to have an idea of what will be covered before you walk in. Some will cover most of the process whereas others may only cover the initial diagnostic testing.
For the male side of testing, they do conduct a semen analysis at one of the sites. As a busy professional, this is pretty difficult to schedule as they one allow you to come by certain days of the week and the time window is pretty small. I really wish they had a little more flexibility with this portion of the testing.

We walked in to [Dr. Greene's] office for the consult and he asked how many children we wanted. That was a question we hadn’t been asked in our old Clinic. It was like he was looking at our hopes and dreams instead of just trying to get one baby...copassionate, smart, energetic, positive, hopeful and kind...refused to do anything that wasn’t the highest and best care...monitored things like thyroid and vitemin d much closer than other people I knew. They were so careful not to allow me to get OHSS, even though it was tempting to continue stimulation meds.
They [nurses at Conceptions Reproductive Associates] were my eyes and ears. They were my lifeline. They answered questions at all hours. They are angels...They went the safest route with single embryo because they were genetically tested...Strengths are patient communication and overall success rates. They are the best at what they do. They keep costs down as well. They are kind...They take hard cases. Weaknesses is the billing department. They make mistakes. I had to stay on them.

The nurses at the Lafayette facility were great. I was not thrilled with the nurse I worked with at the Littleton facility. Dr. Riggs was reasonable and honest, although most of the care at Conceptions is interactions with the nursing staff.
Describe the protocols Ryan Riggs used in your cycles at RMA of Colorado - Conceptions Reproductive Associates and their degree of success.
We attempted two rounds of IUI using Femara. I do consistently ovulate, but I have Diminished Ovarian Reserve, so the goal behind this was to stimulate a "good" egg. Unfortunately, we did not succeed at getting pregnant. Next, we tried IVF with maximum stimulation using Follistim, Omnitrope (growth hormone to increase egg quality), and Menopur. Unfortunately, I did not make enough follicles to proceed to egg retrieval. Dr. Riggs was willing to try a different treatment approach in an attempt to make more follicles, but we opted to move on to embryo adoption at that point.

During my IVF stimulation phase, I had a critical question. I called at 3:45pm, and the nurse answering service said that all calls before 4:30pm would be answered the same day. My call was not returned that day, and I had to call the after hours emergency line to talk to a nurse.
Mark Bush was empathetic to my feelings, and helpful when it came to explaining how we were going to move forward. He didn't seem too interested in the temp/tracking charts I brought in though. Those would have been really helpful....I only met with the doctor twice. Once when we met, and once when we went over some results with my husband present. Every visit otherwise was with a nurse.
All the nurses [at Conceptions Reproductive Associates] were compassionate and knowledgeable. Sometimes I felt kind of bad for saying no to certain treatments. I wasn't ovulating or having a period at all. Mark Bush and his nurses adjusted the treatment strategies as we went because my body constantly decided to do stupid things.
All I will say is to be your own advocate. Make sure you understand everything you are doing, and it's ok to say no if you aren't comfortable with something. Fertility drugs shouldn't be pushed on anyone, and they shouldn't be given out like candy either. Make sure to get proper monitoring on medicated cycles. I had an issue that could have been prevented with better monitoring.

How was your experience with Dana Ambler at RMA of Colorado - Conceptions Reproductive Associates?
Dr. Ambler is not overly compassionate and can present information in a blunt manner, but she delivers bad news gently. I prefer physicians who present information factually and avoid sugar-coating bad news, so I liked Dr. Ambler's approach. Infertility diagnoses and treatments can be confusing, so it is challenging as a patient to know what questions to ask during office visits when you hear your diagnosis for the first time. Dr. Ambler and her nurse were available to answer questions after appointments if I had any. Dr. Ambler changed her treatment plan for me as needed based on my results & response to medications. She kept me informed regarding why she was making the changes and what to expect with the new medications. In addition to the initial consultation visit, Dr. Ambler also met with my husband and me after completing 3 rounds of treatments to reassess our plan.
What's one piece of advice would you give a prospective patient of Dana Ambler at RMA of Colorado - Conceptions Reproductive Associates?
Research infertility treatment options before your consultation visit and come with prepared questions. I recommend reading Toni Weschler, MPH's book, "Taking Charge of Your Fertility" to better understand reproductive health, in general. Schedule time for acupuncture, massage, or relaxation to help you maintain sanity while addressing infertility.

With low ovarian reserve, using my own eggs was unlikely to result in pregnancy even with IVF, but Dr. Ambler did not pressure me to use donor eggs simply to improve her statistics. Dr. Ambler, nurses, and ultrasound technicians patiently answered our questions, and we never felt rushed during appointments.
Describe the protocols Dana Ambler used in your cycles at RMA of Colorado - Conceptions Reproductive Associates and their degree of success.
First Cycle: Took Clomid 50 mg for 7 days. Dr. Ambler also prescribed DHEA 75 mg daily (lab work performed to find optimal dose) and 300 mg of CoQ10 daily. I developed an ovarian cyst with Clomid and did not release an egg. Clomid was given to encourage my body to produce more FSH and LH to stimulate egg production. CoQ10 and DHEA help make mature ovaries (maternal age above 35) more responsive and "youthful."
Second Cycle: Took Clomid 50 mg for 5 days. Ultrasound showed an 8 mm immature follicle only on day 12 & LH surge detected in bloodwork on same day. No trigger medications given due to follicle immaturity. Natural intercourse with husband recommended but did not result in pregnancy.
Third Cycle: Letrozole 2.5 mg pills taken once daily on cycle day 3 to 7. Daily Menopur 75 IU subcutaneous injections started on day 6 until day 9. One mature follicle and one immature follicle were noted with ultrasound on day 10. Lab work indicated I was going to ovulate early, and the egg was released before triggering and retrieval could be performed. Again, natural intercourse was recommended, but no pregnancy resulted. Letrozole (Femara) was given to stimulate follicle development and ovulation. Femara is often given if a woman does not respond to Clomid. Menopur is a gonadotropin that mimics FSH and stimulates the ovaries to produce follicles.
Fourth Cycle: Letrozole 5 mg was taken from cycle day 3 until cycle day 7. Menopur 75 IU subcutaneous injection was given cycle day 6 until cycle day 10. Menopur 150 IU subcutaneous injections started on cycle day 10. Lab work and ultrasound performed on cycle day 12, and I again showed signs of early ovulation. Two mature follicles noted. No triggering medications given, and no egg retrieval possible.
Fifth Cycle: Letrozole 5 mg taken cycle day 3 to 7, menopur 75 IU injections given days 6 to 9, menopur 150 IU given days 10-11. Ganirelix started on day 12 to prevent ovulation until follicle could mature. Intra-uterine insemination performed, but did not result in pregnancy because of poor sperm quality (low motility, low count, abnormal morphology). Continued intra-uterine insemination, despite low quality sperm, because my ovary had prepared a healthy mature follicle. Prometrium 200 mg (Progesterone) was taken after IUI. No pregnancy resulted. Ganirelix is a gonadotropin releasing hormone antagonist and was given to delay ovulation since I had a pattern of early ovulation.
Describe your experience with your nurse at RMA of Colorado - Conceptions Reproductive Associates. (Assigned nurse: Tricia)
Tricia was an angel. She was compassionate and patiently answered any questions I had about the treatment plan or medications. She was exceptionally kind and gentle when she had to report negative lab results. She eased my concerns and delivered care in a calm manner.
Describe your experience with RMA of Colorado - Conceptions Reproductive Associates.
Strengths: Multiple locations throughout the Denver area. You may have to drive to all of the locations at some point in your treatment depending on what treatments or tests are required during your cycle. Scheduling appointments was easy. Nurses, ultrasound technicians, and administrative staff were kind. Beautiful offices.
Weakness: Depending on the time of day, the office can be busy with multiple patients having lab work and ultrasounds performed. Administrative staff did not understand how my fertility benefits worked and were going to charge me cash amount for diagnostic tests after a failed IUI. My insurance only covered diagnostic treatments, but since I had IUI performed, staff thought all further office visits and treatments would not be covered. I had to explain that the IUI failed, so we were back to diagnosing the problem, and the office visit and testing should be billed to insurance. Weekend office hours are limited, so it can be challenging to have ultrasound or lab work performed if needed. Lesson learned: Don't make plans if you are receiving infertility treatments. You are a slave to your cycle.
Describe the costs associated with your care under Dana Ambler at RMA of Colorado - Conceptions Reproductive Associates.
I don't remember the exact costs of the medications, but I paid between $200 to $500 for the medications each cycle. The IUI cost approximately $4000. My insurance covered lab work and ultrasounds at 80%, so I paid $50 to $150 for diagnostic testing.
Describe Dana Ambler's approach to eSET (elective single embryo transfer) vs. multiple embryo transfer at RMA of Colorado - Conceptions Reproductive Associates.
Dr. Ambler did not express a strong preference for single vs multiple embryo transfer, but we did not reach a point in my treatment where we were discussing embryo transfer for IVF. At the consultation, she recommended single embryo transfer due to risks associated with twins, triplets, etcetera.
Dr Greene is a busy doctor, but I feel he is genuinely invested in our success, because our success is his success. I would recommend, we have a beautiful baby boy because of his help! We had a failed cycle as well, and he was very clinical and numbers driven in his responses. Overall I feel he is a compassionate doctor willing to do what it takes for success.
They [Conceptions Reproductive Associates] are friendly, just costly. They are well organized but see a lot of patients each day so you’re pushed through sometimes, but I suppose it comes with the business. I’ve never had a problem, billing can be slow, the best way to communicate with most departments is through email, which I prefer so that I can keep a track record.

Weakness is billing and explanation of charges. Money is a sensitive topic and my insurance didn't cover anything for infertility. Payment plans would've been helpful. It does not seem like they are very sensitive to the fact these procedures cost a lot of money.
Success was all the nursing staff and care team.

From the first day I met [Dr. Robert Greene] we felt welcomed and important. Not only from him, but from the entire team at Conceptions. Right away I felt like I was in the best hands possible for this trying time in life. They immediately built a trusting relationship with us, and because of never having to doubt their recommendations, we were able to move through the difficult process with a little more peace of mind.
All the nurses (who you will work closely with [at Conceptions]) always had answers to my questions, explained what was happening and why, and never made me feel like I was bothering them or asking dumb questions. As a stickler for good communication, I have to say the communication and organizational skills are top notch at this clinic. I am so impressed with the behind the scenes cross-team collaboration that must take place because everyone, from reception to doctors, to nurses, to physician assistants, they all knew what was going on with me at any given time, and I can only assume the same for every patient. I never had to repeat my story, or give an update where I was in my process, everyone just knew.

Strengths [of Dr. Robert Greene]: He knows his stuff, some of his staff is good. Weaknesses: know it all, blunt but doesn't explain. Feel rushed and some answers feel incomplete or confusing. He has his PA abd staff take care of everything. He doesn't respond to or see the patient unless you're paying a copay and doing a regroup...Did a medicated cycle, then an IUI, got prego lost due to ectopic and had to hqve surgery for further testing and diagnosis. All IUI treatments used Letrozol 2.5 mg and Ovidrel trigger shot.

Emails, calls and talks to you...I am feeling like a number and how they are just moving me through and want my money. I finally expressed this to them and I am hoping it changes.

Told me they would call, they didn't. I had to be the one to cancel an IUI cycle because the nurse (not Monica) didn't know what to do and I felt like they nust wanted my $, when my numbers were not ideal.
My address got switched in the system so they weren't getting my statements to me and tried to cancel me as a patient.
The receptionist made the comment of "It only takes one!" Not something you say to a person who experienced loss and has infertility.
Felt like a number most recently. They fall behind in appointments and run late. Sometimes they didn't give me all the info they should have and I have had to drag it out of them.

Dr. Greene was very optimistic about our chances for success, our results were surprising to everyone - zero viable eggs retrieved. During our regroup, he was compassionate, caring and encouraged us to consider donor eggs. When asked what he would change about our protocol if we were to try again with our own eggs, his response was unclear...we only interacted with him 3 times (consult, retrieval, regroup)...ask about expected results and best/worst case scenarios. Push for details in changes to protocols if needed.

He [Dr. Greene] was always personable and knew what our situation was The group has a lot of patients so I can see how you can feel like a number but the staff is great... he recommended only transferring one because of risks with multiples and we listened... We went to him in April, started the process in late May, and I'm currently 7w2d pregnant with my first. The nursing staff has been great and it's been as smooth of a process as this can be (knowing this is never a smooth process)
one of the best success rates in the country, very professional staff [Conceptions Reproductive Associates], organized. Downsides: it's so large so you don't see your doctor as much and switch nurses through every section- so that can be good or bad if you like your nurse or not. We were fortunately successful on our first round.... there was confusion between one pharmacy and if they got the prescription or not so it took a few phone calls between the two.

Dr. Greene gets to know you as a person...He is very knowledgeable and makes you feel like your apart of the decisions...He asked us about our future. He personally connected with our lives outside of a fertility clinic. He genuinely seemed like he was in it for our best interest...After my first transfer failed, Dr. Greene gave us ample options as to what to change this time and why. He told us his professional opinion but ultimately let us choose the path to go down.
Scheduling was easy [at Conceptions Reproductive Associates]. I loved how weekend's or holidays were never off limits. They always were accommodating and understanding. Billing was quickly and promptly taken care of. Even though they have multiple clinics I felt like they all communicated very well with one another...They were always there for questions and responded promptly. They never made you feel alone and like they always had your back through this process. I don't think I'll every forget the care and kindness they showed me through this journey.

Describe the protocols Robert Greene used in your cycles at RMA of Colorado - Conceptions Reproductive Associates and their degree of success.
My first cycle was monitored carefully. Dr. Greene had suspected PCOS but I never showed symptoms so it was hard to diagnose. As my retrieval grew closer Dr. Greene made the decision to move my retrieval up. I think this was a good idea as my eggs quality were decreasing each day. After my first transfer failed, Dr. Greene gave us ample options as to what to change this time and why. He told us his professional opinion but ultimately let us choose the path to go down.

Describe the costs associated with your care under Robert Greene at RMA of Colorado - Conceptions Reproductive Associates.
We went straight to IVF after the infertility diagnosis. My Fallopian tubes are occluded bilaterally and the only option for treatment was IVF. He [Dr. Robert Greene] explained that surgery could happen for me, but most insurance doesn’t cover it, I would have to wait to see if the surgery was even successful, and most women have to do IVF anyway. I did research and he was right. I don’t remember the exact protocols used, but during egg retrieval Dr. Greene monitored my follicle growth throughout and did have to make adjustments to my meds
For me, I felt that the staff [at Conceptions Reproductive Associates- Lafayette] was very knowledgeable and organized. I just had to trust that they knew what they were doing, and they did. The one thing that was difficult for me was transferring my care to multiple different nurses depending on the cycle. It made sense that certain nurses were experts on different parts of the treatment, but it was a challenge transferring care so many times.
How was your experience with Robert Greene at RMA of Colorado - Conceptions Reproductive Associates?
Although I didn’t see him often, he was very warm and friendly. He kept me optimistic and positive. He also was sure to share information and make sure I understood my treatment. Dr. Greene was honest with treatment and what we should expect in our situation. I am very thankful that he kept it real, but still knew how to present the information in an appropriate manner.

Listen to what he has to say! He might not tell you what you want to hear, but he is giving you the appropriate information.
During treatment, were you treated like a number or a human with Robert Greene at RMA of Colorado - Conceptions Reproductive Associates?
Dr. Greene kept it real with me throughout treatment. In the beginning I was not willing to accept IVF as the appropriate treatment for my diagnosis. Dr. Greene told me the facts and let me take the time to do any additional research that I needed to ultimately make my desicion. He was very warm and positive throughout!

This was successful as 19 follicles were retrieved. As for FET, we only had to transfer one embryo one time for a successful live birth.

It was extremely expensive, but it is expensive at any clinic. My IVF treatment including genetic testing was over $19,000 and the medication was around $7,000. I do wish the clinic was more helpful in “shopping” for medication vs using the expensive specialty pharmacies.

There was some issues with getting medications ordered through my pharmacy. I’m not entirely sure if that was on Conceptions end or my provider, but it was a challenge.
He [ Dr. Robert Greene] prefers to do a single [embryo transfer] but is willing to do multiple with good reasoning...He was always interested in our process. Yes he has many patients and may need to be reminded of our chart/ circumstances, but he was always completely with you when it was your time...We had a protocol that was tailored to our circumstances. He shared his research and if he needed to know more about an issue, he would research it for himself to know what was best for us. Very knowledgeable and positive..He really tried to get to know and understand us as people and patient's.
Always received very detailed protocol [from the nurses at Conceptions Reproductive Associates] I do wish that knowing what was coming up was easier to communicate...There are multiple locations which is a plus. However many proceedures can only be done in Littleton. Everyone on staff was pleasent to work with and very knowledgeable. They go above and beyond when needed!...He [ Dr. Robert Greene] prefers to do a single [embryo transfer] but is willing to do multiple with good reasoning
