This is the most recent data from the CDC. The CDC cautions that it should not be used to compare doctors and clinics. This data represents the outcomes of IVF cycles when using a person's own eggs.
For more information please see our FAQs.
Where you see a “?” on the chart, a clinic has done fewer than 20 cycles in this category and age range, so the CDC says showing percentages from this small data set would be misleading and unreliable.
Dr. Akerman is always very kind. He always makes sure you understand every step of the treatment you are in. You never feel rushed on the appointments with him, he takes his time with the patient, hear your question and guide you with the best options for your case...Sometimes he runs a bit late from one appointment to another but that's not a real issue for me, that really means he takes his time with each one of his patients.

We are doing IVF, we are still in the middle of the process, the first step for egg retrieval I was put on Menopour, Gonal and Ganirelix, and couldn't ask for a better outcome of my retrieval. Further steps are yet to come.

Some areas may need a bit of upgrade since can looks a bit dated but overall super well kept.
My first appointment was in the Miami beach facility and that one is even more beautiful, modern and spotless too.
Describe Fernando Akerman's approach to eSET (elective single embryo transfer) vs. multiple embryo transfer at Fertility & IVF Center of Miami.
Dr. Choung was condescending in her explanations. When the retrieval didn't go as planned she didn't even have the courtesy of telling me herself nor did she have the courtesy to call me when my beta was negative after my transfer. I never heard from her again after the retrieval...My eggs did not grow well during stims however she never changed the dosage of my medication...I stimmed for 14 days and she was still only able to retrieve 4 eggs yet she told me the day before I triggered that I should anticipate 10 eggs based on their size and my estrogen level before retrieval...
[Fertility & IVF Center of Miami] Strengths: convenient hours, open 7 days a week, most of the time I was seen within 30 min of my appt Weaknesses: no patient portal, nurses call with instructions so you have to remember everything when they call and make sure not to miss the phone call...They called with instructions for estrogen and told me the wrong dose so I ended up taking double the amount...
How was your experience with Farah Chuong at Fertility & IVF Center of Miami?
Dr. Choung had me suppress with estrogen prior to stimulation. She did not discuss any supplements nor acupuncture and said they have not been proven to improve success. This is not true and with a subsequent retrieval after switching clinics I had 4x as many embryos and all were top quality (as opposed to the one poor quality embryo I produced with Dr. Choung. My eggs did not grow well during stims however she never changed the dosage of my medication (the next clinic did and my eggs immediately responded). I stimmed for 14 days and she was still only able to retrieve 4 eggs yet she told me the day before I triggered that I should anticipate 10 eggs based on their size and my estrogen level before retrieval. I understand that in medicine things don't always go according to plan but when the retrieval didn't yield even half of the eggs she expected she should have had the courtesy to let me know herself or offer some explanation. She was nowhere to be found after the retrieval when I woke up from sedation. Same story when the transfer failed. I paid out of pocket for this cycle and it was a total waste. I had a totally opposite (and successful) experience at the next clinic. My experience with Dr. Choung was a total waste of time and money.
What's one piece of advice would you give a prospective patient of Farah Chuong at Fertility & IVF Center of Miami?
Do your own research and speak up about the things you want. Do not accept a disappearing act when things go wrong.

They called with instructions for estrogen and told me the wrong dose so I ended up taking double the amount.
Dr. Jacobs is very knowledgeable and for this reason, I would recommend him to someone. He is very dry and does not show compassion so if that's what you are looking for seek someone else. When I lost my pregnancy he did not show remorse or empathy. When you advocate for yourself he sees you and does put more effort into helping you. If you request to see him he will make time for you but it is difficult to get past the nurses and office staff. There is no direct email or number to the doctor.
Very early morning appointments available [at Fertility & IVF Center of Miami], but treated as a first come first serve basis. They have more patients than they can handle and double book constantly. They open at 7am but do not answer the phone till about 9-9:30. Bring your work or a book to entertain yourself with because if you are going for an ultrasound you will be there for over 40 minutes waiting in the room after you've already waited in the waiting room. Parking is easy.

He is a good doctor but his staff sucks so be ready to deal with that. Also, unless you do IVF you will barely see him. The nurses see most of the patients for the monitoring and baselines and do the IUIs. You need to request to see him sternly in order to be able to see him.
During treatment, were you treated like a number or a human with Michael Jacobs at Fertility & IVF Center of Miami?
The nurses and doctor's never remember you. Even if you go in every day. They don't read your chart before seeing you so they just either assume it's your first visit or assume your millionth and that you don't need anything explained. It is very frustrating. When they tell you they will call you they most likely will not or they will call you very late. If you leave a message be sure to call and leave the message with an actual human not the machine and even still call and leave a messgae with a human multiple times so that your message is returned.
Describe your experience with the nursing staff at Fertility & IVF Center of Miami.
The nurses pretend to be very compassionate. They do everything in their power to not involve the doctor. They are dishonest. One day they will do something for you and the next day they will say the clinic never does that, even something as simple as getting a note for work. They take forever to respond to calls and messages. They never read your chart. Most of them don't enjoy clarifying or explaining anything but you have to explain your situation to them every time you go in. You get a new nurse for each visit which adds to the chaos.

They have lost paperwork. Every time you call they write it down and create notes from the conversation and when I mention I've called about this before they tell me they don't have the notes but when I requested my medical records all the notes I was referring to were there. Of course, not all the calls were documented as I'm sure the nurse got lazy or did not want to document my message. Appointments were lost as they said they would call me to let me know if they were going to remain open with a bad storm heading our way and they never called me back. There was a city-wide shut down that morning so I assumed the clinic was closed. Especially after I called 3 times and had no response. Then that afternoon my call gets answered and I'm told they never closed and I missed my appointment. I have been told they would call me with results and they never did. I would call to inquire and was told someone would get back to me and they would not. I was scheduled for an IUI multiple times when we were only doing Timed Intercourse at that time. One nurse would tell me to take medication XYZ this way and another nurse would tell me an opposite way. One nurse told me to stay home after suffering a miscarriage another said I could go back to work. I requested my chart be shared with my other doctors and it never was. When changes were made to my protocol they would assume I would know and when I would inquire they would get annoyed. I was given methotrexate and was not conveyed critical information about the drug. This information was discovered by internet searches and then I called to confirm if it was accurate adn was told it was.
Dr. Jacobs was more interested in the quantity of eggs instead of the quality of eggs...Ultimately, he did adjust the medicines for the second cycle...From day one, he always mentioned that he would transfer 1 embryo at a time. On the day of retrieval, as we were preparing for transfer, Dr. Jacobs walks in and tells us he will be transferring both because the first got damaged during thawing. We were not given a choice... both were thawed and transferred.
I would email them all and I will say that they [Fertility & IVF Center of Miami] were excellent about returning my emails and calls...Purchase a package that included two retrievals and unlimited transfers for $27,400. This didn't include in-house lab work, semen analysis, semen deposits, medications, or PSG testing. Because of my insurance, most medications were not covered either. The end total was over $45,000.
How was your experience with Michael Jacobs at Fertility & IVF Center of Miami?
At first, we felt extremely hopefully and good with our decision to go with Dr. Jacobs. We purchased the package offered that included two retrievals and unlimited transfers. After our first failed IVF cycle (30 eggs retrieved from 1 ovary resulting in 1 abnormal embryo), Dr. Jacobs wanted us to use donor sperm. From that moment on, every visit with him it would be mentioned. We were very clear that we wanted to use husband's sperm and his urologist told us that we could be successful with his sperm. We processed to do a second retrieval. He retrieved 20 eggs resulting in 2 normal embryos. From day one, he always mentioned that he would transfer 1 embryo at a time. On the day of retrieval, as we were preparing for transfer, Dr. Jacobs walks in and tells us he will be transferring both because the first got damaged during thawing. We were not given a choice... both were thawed and transferred. A week later we got a negative pregnancy test. From the end of the first cycle, we felt that Dr. Jacobs had zero confidence in us and was just continuing with us because we had purchase the package.

During treatment, were you treated like a number or a human with Michael Jacobs at Fertility & IVF Center of Miami?
Dr. Jacobs was more interested in the quantity of eggs instead of the quality of eggs. When we mentioned the suggestion of quality vs quantity to him, it was offended. Ultimately, he did adjust the medicines for the second cycle.
Describe the protocols Michael Jacobs used in your cycles at Fertility & IVF Center of Miami and their degree of success.
For first cycle, I was on menopur, cetrotide, gonal-f, and prenatal vitamins as preparation for retrieval. It resulted in 1 abnormal embryo. After insisting from us, it was adjusted for second cycle. For second cycle, I was on the same medications, different dosages for retrieval. I was then put on vivelle dot patches, lupron, baby aspirin, and prenatal vitamins as preparation for the implantation. Once we got closer to implantation, I was taken off of lupron and started on progesterone, azithromycin, and medrol. Once I got the negative test, I was told to stop everything at once.
Describe your experience with the nursing staff at Fertility & IVF Center of Miami.
At the beginning of each cycle, I was given a nurse coordinator. However, as the cycle progressed, I realized that the nurses did not work every day since they took turns working weekends. I would email them all and I will say that they were excellent about returning my emails and calls. Monica, Teresa, and all the nurses were a joy to talk to. The only complaint I have was that I was given the wrong arrival time for my implantation. This added stress to an already stressful event. When mentioned to Dr. Jacobs, he told me that I must have heard the time wrong but that she gave me the right time. That upset me more but luckily we were able to start the procedure before the window was up.
Describe your experience with Fertility & IVF Center of Miami.
All the employees, except the receptionist, are extremely helpful and willing to answer my thousands of questions. I would leave a message or email me to call me, and they would before the end of the day. I greatly appreciate it. The receptionist, however, needs to work on listening to the patient calling before giving an answer. As a teacher, I had a special request grant to have afternoon appointments when it was with Dr. Jacobs himself. Whenever I would call to make those appointments, the receptionist would immediately cut me off and say no. I would hang up with her and continue to call until a different office employee would answer and hear me out.

Describe Michael Jacobs's approach to eSET (elective single embryo transfer) vs. multiple embryo transfer at Fertility & IVF Center of Miami.
From the beginning, Dr. Jacobs told us that he only does SET and was highly against multiple because it reduces the chances of a live birth. Then on transfer day of our 2nd cycle, he comes in and tells us that he's implanting both. We reminded him of what he told us, excused himself to go check with lab, return to inform us that the first one was damaged in the thawing out process and therefore they went ahead and thaw out the second. The first one wasn't going to take anyways and wouldn't affect the success chances of the second one... he was wrong! We got a negative pregnancy test. We feel that we should have been given a choice whether or not to thaw out the second one at that time, and that Dr. Jacobs went back on his position. It's almost as if he was covering for the lab.

Describe the specific things that went wrong at Fertility & IVF Center of Miami.
When it was time to get the PGS results of our second IVF cycle, it was almost impossible to get an appointment. I was first schedule for a week after the said date on my Protocol, then they called back saying they need to change it to the following day. I finally emailed the nurse to call me. When she did, she was finally able to get me an appointment for the day it said on the protocol. When mentioned to Dr. Jacobs, he told me that his wife had surprised him with a birthday weekend getaway. I completely understand that doctors have lives too but we were left in limbo. He could have had one of the other doctors seen us and give us the info. Bad management on the office's part.
He [Dr. Michael Jacobs] explained there was no need for us to transfer multiple embryos despite my concern for the first failed single transfer(not by Dr Jacobs). Healthy embryo, healthy uterus, one is the safer route. Those were his words and I trusted him...seemed as invested in our process as we were. He was very honest, thorough, and answered all questions...was very real and at the same time explained things well and made us feel very comfortable. Our original plan was to wait a few months until I “thought the timing was better” but he was so confident and made us have that same confidence in him we decided not to wait. I felt as if we were in good hands through the whole process.
Due to my specific situation and failed transfer as part of a study I was given a discount [by Fertility & IVF Center of Miami]...Medical care is great, sometimes hard to speak to someone. You have to leave a message for the nurse and wait for a call back. Although they usually will call you back by the end of the day. If this is the only con of this clinic, I think that’s pretty good. It’s really not even an issue, it’s just the anxiety you can experience during this process can make you a little crazy waiting to speak to someone.

I remember during the transfer he took a long time to transfer the embryo. He took his time and made sure that he did all he could. Our previous transfer was very quick and unfortunately didn’t work. I left there feeling confident that he put his all into that process. And here I am almost 6 months pregnant.

How was your experience with Farah Chuong at Fertility & IVF Center of Miami?
Dr. Chuong was recommended to us by my OBGYN. As soon as you step into her office, it was such a calming feeling and she was excited to meet us and get to know our story. We had already met with a urologist for my husband and were disappointed with the results. She immediately recommended a new urologist in which she works closely with and even offered to reach out to him personally, to see if we could get an earlier appointment. Once she asked us both questions for her review, she explained the process of IVF step by step. I had a list of questions in my head prior to meeting with her and she answered them all before I could even ask. Dr. Chuong did not hesitate in getting the ball rolling with the diagnostic workup. My husband and I started the tests that same day. My sonogram was performed by the doctor herself and she walked me through every step and explained everything on the monitor. Every time after that, any tests that need to be performed in her office, have always been done by her. She always greets us warmly and make us feel comfortable. My husband had a sperm analysis done in her office early one Friday morning and she called me personally that same day with the results.

We are still in the early stages of the treatment cycle. Since our infertility is due to a male factor, Dr. Chuong had us meet with a urologist to assess my husband's issue. My husband will be having surgery this month and then we will revaluate the best course of action whether it be IUI or IVF.

Describe Farah Chuong's approach to eSET (elective single embryo transfer) vs. multiple embryo transfer at Fertility & IVF Center of Miami.
Dr. Chuong did say at our initial meeting that she usually does single embryo transfers. She did say when we got to that point, we could further discuss the options.
She [Dr. Farah Chuong] performs many of the tests herself which I loved. This includes the initial exam, the hysteroscopy, some of the US appointments and IUI procedures. This is uncommon from my previous experiences so I very much appreciate an involved physician. Also, I ask a ton of questions as I like to be very involved in my treatment plan. She is patient with me and answers EVERY single question. She makes sure I leave her office confident in the current plan and yet knowledgeable in the expectation part of it.
They [Fertility & IVF Centers of Miami] have coordinators that handle each individual aspect. For example one woman (Maria) handles the insurance side. She advocates for you based on what is covered and what isn’t. She automatically sends authorizations when required. She communicates every step with you and is easy to reach.... The nusing staff seems to be knowledgeable at each appointment. They share US results such as endometrial lining and follicle size. They let you see your results and explain what they are measuring, etc. Blood draws are pretty painless so that’s a plus as well :)

During my first visit with Dr. Chuong I felt very well educated with where we were currently and where we were headed in our treatment plan. During the first few US appointments I did not get to see the Doctor at all and I felt very disappointed in my progress and not educated on the expectations of the current treatment plan. I expressed this during my second visit and now she has been present at every subsequent visit.
Describe the protocols Farah Chuong used in your cycles at Fertility & IVF Center of Miami and their degree of success.
I was referred to this clinic because my previous RE did not practice IVF. I was told that we were at a point that we would benefit from visiting another clinic who did offer IVF as all the other options we tried had not produced a positive result yet.
We made an appointment to visit with her and start discussions while we were in the TWW. That cycle was all over the place for me and I ended up starting my period almost a week early. When we showed up at Dr. Chuong’s office we were told that there were numerous cysts left over from the gonadotropin cycle and that we were not good candidates to start IVF.
I explained that I did not want to lose a cycle and so she recommended that we wait a few days for my progesterone levels to drop and start a less invasive approach of 7.5 mg of Letrozole. I responded very slowly but finally produced 2 mature follicles (20 mm Amd 18 mm). We triggered on day 16 and IUI was on day 18. Not sure of the outcome for this cycle yet.

We have insurance coverage for some procedures such as US and bloodwork. Cost of IUI is $500 I believe.
Dr. Jacobs has a very serious demeanor and a very dry personality but he will always have your best interests at heart. He is very conservative with his protocols and will always take the path with less risks. He was very thorough with his treatment plans. He did not perform any of my IUIs but did every ultrasound for my second egg retrieval and performed the actual egg retrieval. He also performed the frozen embryo transfer as well. He was easily accessible if you needed to reach out to him.
The clinic [Fert and IVF Ctr of Miami] doesn’t have a support group the way Another large fertility clinic in the area does which makes it more difficult to find people who are going through the same thing you are. The staff is very friendly and helpful but you will see multiple nurses and doctors throughout this process depending on what treatments you have done...The nursing staff was amazing. I saw them way more often than I saw Dr. Jacobs

I did 3 IUIs with 100mg of clomid during CD3-7 and then triggered with Ovidrel. The IUI would always occur 36 hours after the trigger and he would recommend a single IUI unless he couldn’t confirm if you ovulated prior to the IUI. My first egg retrieval was 8 days of stims with 225 UI of Gonal F and 1 vial of Menopur per day. I started Cetrotide on day 5. I used Novarel for my trigger shot and was able to start my egg retrieval protocol within days of my failed IUI. I had 8 eggs retrieved, 6 were mature, 4 fertilized with ICSI and 2 were frozen on day 5 and sent for PGS testing. They both came back abnormal. I had to go on birth control for a minimum of 18 days before being about to start the frozen embryo transfer once I got my period. For my second egg retrieval I used 200 UI of Gonal F each night along with 1 vial of Menopur. I started Cetrotide once I had a folical that was at least 13mm. I stimmed for 11 days and used Novarel as my trigger shot. I got 11 eggs, all 11 were mature, 8 fertilized with ICSI, 2 blasts were frozen on days 5 and 6 and only 1 was PGS normal. We did a frozen embryo transfer with our 1 PGS normal embryo.
Describe your experience with the nursing staff at Fertility & IVF Center of Miami.
The nursing staff was amazing. I saw them way more often than I saw Dr. Jacobs and grew a fondness for them early on. They started to feel more like family as I would visit them daily depending on my procedure at the time. They were very attentive, compassionate and caring. I still go back and visit them from time to time.
Describe your experience with Fertility & IVF Center of Miami.
The clinic doesn’t have a support group the way Another large fertility clinic in the area does which makes it more difficult to find people who are going through the same thing you are. The staff is very friendly and helpful but you will see multiple nurses and doctors throughout this process depending on what treatments you have done.
Describe your experience with your monitoring appointments at Fertility & IVF Center of Miami.
The clinic was always able to schedule my ultrasound appointments with very little notice. They would usually run on time and the wait time was always reasonable.
Describe the costs associated with your care under Michael Jacobs at Fertility & IVF Center of Miami.
Yes. The IUI payment structure was very transparent. Each ultrasound had a separate costs from the IUI. The total amount for the IUI would depend on the number of ultrasounds. For IVF there were 2 options, 1 single egg retrieval, or a package with 3 egg retrivals and unlimited transfer within a 1 year period. There was a minimal difference between the two packages.
I think he [Dr. Michael Jacobs] is very set in his own ways. Being diagnosed with unexplained infertility I felt like it was a shot in the dark trying to figure out how to get me pregnant. It was a struggle in the beginning to feel like I was being heard. However we are on the same plan for IVF in the event that IUI doesn't work.
[At Fertility & IVF Ctr of Miami] The nurses do all the ultrasounds, blood work and procedures for a medicated IUI. Every visit I see a different nurse and every visit I have to explain my story again to them since my treatment is different from the norm.... I wish they had a better support group like some of the other clinics in Miami.... Every nurse we have come across has been great. I wish they would introduce themselves when they walk in. I also wish they would check my file beforehand to get to know me a little.

What's one piece of advice would you give a prospective patient of Michael Jacobs at Fertility & IVF Center of Miami?
Hold your ground. Don't let them push you into something you don't want. Always question the overages that you're paying.

I am diagnosed with unexplained infertility. I take clomid 100mg from CD3-7 then have my check up on CD11 and trigger with Ovidrel. Once I do my IUI I start on 50mg progesterone suppositories that I take twice a day. This is the least invasive method. For this reason we started on this path.

The main reason I am at this clinic is for convenience. It is 5 minutes from our house and my office which makes the multiple appointments less stressful. I wish they had a better support group like some of the other clinics in Miami.
Describe the costs associated with your care under Michael Jacobs at Fertility & IVF Center of Miami.
Each ultrasound is $355. It's an additional $20 to visit on the weekend. The IUI is $535 and $400 for a second IUI. Ovidrel is $99 and progesterone suppositories are $68. Clomid is $5
Describe Michael Jacobs's approach to eSET (elective single embryo transfer) vs. multiple embryo transfer at Fertility & IVF Center of Miami.
My husband and I would prefer to transfer 2 embryos if we have enough. The doctor only recommends one. We are paying out of pocket so we want to maximize our chances of success.
Dr Joelle Taylor is amazing. She was highly recommended by many who had seen her, and thus, have a tangible blessing, that only resulted from her help and expertise. She has wonderful beside manner, and explained everything to my husband and I, wonderfully.... I do not remember exact specifications such as dosage information etc but I do know that she began my IUI cycle with Clomid 150mg (I had previously tried 6 cycles of Clomid with my OBGYN), then we continued with monitoring and then added injections. In the end, we followed with 2 IUIs back to back (on Monday, and Tuesday) to try and increase probability
Most of the nursing staff [at Fertility & IVF Center of Miami] was very nice. one of the nurses who usually drew my labs was so sweet and understanding. Alot of times I didn't see Dr Taylor at my visits, so I wish I would have been better informed by the staff. (This process is a challenging one, and sometimes a patients mind is flustered) The nurse who actually performed my IUI I had never met before that appointment and I felt like she was cold and could have been more informative

Describe the specific things that went wrong at Fertility & IVF Center of Miami.
The financial coordinator, I believe Sandra is her name. failed to communicate concrete information (FINAL number for price)with me in person, until the day I started treatment. Of course everything changed that day because my new insurance was out of network, so I had to pay for ultrasounds etc more that was previously planned. Since then, I have called and left messages for her to ask what credit I have on my account to be prepared to start our next cycle, and have yet to receive a call back.
I could tell from the moment that I walked into Dr. Taylor's office that I was going to have a very different experience. She was kind, understanding, patient, thoughtful-I could go on and on. SHe is very special and one of a kind.... Try to manage your expectations as Dr. Taylor can only do so much-unfortunately there are many other factors at play.
It [Fertility & IVF Center of Miami] is small so you get to know everyone. It is on the expensive side.... FOr the most part the wait times were not bad, and I was able to schedule before work at times that were convenient for me.... THey [the nursing staff] were a bit un organized but over all very kind and compassionate.... A newer nurse gave me the wrong instructions in regards to coming in for an ultrasound/having a repeat beta.

Dr. Taylor could not have been kinder, more empathetic and understanding throughout the whole treatment process.
Describe the protocols Joelle Taylor used in your cycles at Fertility & IVF Center of Miami and their degree of success.
Dr. Taylor used the antagonist protocol plus the growth hormone. As I am a slow responder we used max doses of Gonal F and Menopur as well as the growth hormone. I was primed with estrogen patches. The results were as expected for my age and my numbers-I have diminished ovarian reserve as well as poor egg quality. My first cycle all 3 of the embryos tested came back abnormal. The second cycle due to complications we were not able to PGS test before transfer, we transferred two and I miscarried at 6 weeks. The third that was tested came back abnormal and I have one frozen that was not tested as it was too weak.

A newer nurse gave me the wrong instructions in regards to coming in for an ultrasound/having a repeat beta.
Dr. Jacobs did seem like he was giving genuine advice during consultations, saying things like "if this were my wife or my daughter, this is what I would recommend". However, during the actual cycle process, it felt much more like a factory, like we were getting the same protocol for treatment as everyone else.... He took his time when we were able to see him, and he explained things in detail. He was not the one to perform the IUIs or any other parts of the procedures, and we didn't really see him that much other than initial consultations.
The nursing staff [Fertility & IVF Center of Miami] was good overall. I don't remember having any issues with them, other than the fact that they were the ones performing the IUIs. Both times they had trouble inserting the catheter into the uterus, but then again, the following doctor had trouble with that as well.... Strengths: two offices in two different locations (Miami Beach and Kendall), very convenient; quite efficient; nice nurses Weakness: because they're a big clinic, it didn't feel very personalized at times.
How was your experience with Michael Jacobs at Fertility & IVF Center of Miami?
Dr. Jacobs was very nice and very professional. He ordered all the baseline testing and ruled out any diagnosable issue (hence unexplained infertility). He took his time when we were able to see him, and he explained things in detail. He was not the one to perform the IUIs or any other parts of the procedures, and we didn't really see him that much other than initial consultations.
What's one piece of advice would you give a prospective patient of Michael Jacobs at Fertility & IVF Center of Miami?
Don't expect him to be doing your IUI. Ask about other approaches to IUI (other than Clomid).

On the first cycle I used Clomid, 100 (2 pills) for 5 days. I responded very sensitively and produced I believe 4 or 5 mature follicles. They (nurses) did the insemination anyway but no pregnancy occurred. The second round he cut the dose of Clomid in half, and I still produced like 2 or 3 mature follicles. We did two inseminations back to back after the ovulation trigger shot, but no pregnancy.

Insemination ~$500 each, meds were 200-300 each cycle, I think.
Dr. Taylor wanted to help us so badly. We unfortunately were an odd case for the practice. I felt bad leaving and even cried after our last appointment knowing that I was going on to another doctor. She truly cared and I wants the best for us and I don't think I would have been able to get through this tough time without her. She would meet with me just to talk, as many times I wanted to and called to check up on me. I cannot thank her enough.
I felt that I made the right decision on going to the IVF Center of Miami, even though my treatments did not give me the end result that I wanted. Everyone at the office was up to speed on my progress and they were just caring and felt like they were involved in my journey. As someone who has had a lot of ups and downs, I can easily blame the office for that, but it wasn't them. I did move on to another doctor in New York. In Miami I felt like I was the only person with any issues - and that I was the only one going through this. It was helpful that there was a Miami Beach office, but I would have liked a little more support with possibly classes or seminars or a group to talk about what challenges I was facing.

Do your homework. I researched a lot and felt like I wanted to make sure I was getting the best care. I also would suggest to ask to see what Dr. Jacobs has to say about your case if you are out of the ordinary. I am the kind of person who is their own advocate and I think you need to be with any doctor in this situation.

My husband and I had a great relationship with Dr. Taylor. Even though I had my ups and downs, she truly treated both of us like we were family. She honestly cared about us and our wellbeing and was just genuinely concerned and wanted to help guide us through our journey.

1st Egg Retrieval - standard Follistim, Menopur, Ganorelix, HCG Trigger Shot, Progesterone in Oil = 10 days, then Day 5 egg retrieval. This pregnancy resulted as an ectopic and Dr. Taylor helped us get through it.
1st Frozen Embryo Transfer - Birth control, Lupron, Progesterone in Oil = no issues with transfer. Go pregnant and unfortunately miscarried at 10 weeks. Dr. Taylor saw us right away and did a D&C the next day.
2nd Egg Retrieval - same as the first with the medication, but unfortunately my medication had to be increased and the retrieval results were poor.

I was lucky enough to have my insurance cover the costs. The only costs I can recall that were not covered was embryo storage - $1,450 per year.
Dr. Chuong is very up to date with the latest in fertility treatment and explained everything to me step by step. She did a great job breaking down the process. I felt so comfortable speaking with her and I felt like she was invested in every step!... Dr. Chuong was very realistic and optimistic with my fertility options since I didn’t have a history of factors that would lend to infertility but my husband is a pilot and never home when I ovulate. We spoke about the option of Clomid

Dr. Chuong was very realistic and optimistic with my fertility options since I didn’t have a history of factors that would lend to infertility but my husband is a pilot and never home when I ovulate. We spoke about the option of Clomid with natural inter course as well as freezing his sperm and doing IUI when I ovulate and weighed the pros and cons to both options.

Dr. Jacobs is a genius, there is no doubt about that. He is the founder of his clinic and clearly knows what he is talking about. However, he is not warm and fuzzy, if that is what you are looking for.... I just felt that until he reviewed my chart, he had no clue who I was each time I sat in front of him.... That he is very matter of fact, and gets straight to the point... For all of my IUI's the treatment stayed the same. Half way through my IVF when we were trying to produce more eggs he upped my medication.
