This is the most recent data from the CDC. The CDC cautions that it should not be used to compare doctors and clinics. This data represents the outcomes of IVF cycles when using a person's own eggs.
For more information please see our FAQs.
Where you see a “?” on the chart, a clinic has done fewer than 20 cycles in this category and age range, so the CDC says showing percentages from this small data set would be misleading and unreliable.

How was your experience with Amanda Skillern at Fora Fertility?
Dr. Skillern and her team have been so wonderful throughout this journey. From our very first visit, we were blown away and felt genuinely seen and understood. Dr. Skillern didn’t just focus on me as the patient—she was equally focused on my partner and our whole family plan (since we both intended to carry). What really impressed us in that first meeting was Dr. Skillern asking us the questions that we didn't think we had to worry about yet. Like when did my partner plan to carry, how many kids, etc. She was the ONLY doctor (we had been to previous clinics with not so great experiences) that got us thinking about my partner and her future. Making sure we did all the testing on her sooner so that when to came time for her to carry, we didn't get any bad surprises that would impact our family plan. She always explained everything clearly, made sure we were comfortable, and supported us through everything.
This clinic is the ultimate place for anyone seeking fertility care, especially for LGBTQ+ couples. They go beyond the medical side of things and truly invest in the people they are helping. We couldn’t be happier with the care we’ve received, and we’re so grateful to have had Dr. Skillern with us.
What's one piece of advice would you give a prospective patient of Amanda Skillern at Fora Fertility?
She's got you.
During treatment, were you treated like a number or a human with Amanda Skillern at Fora Fertility?
Dr. Skillern and everyone else at the clinic were very warm and welcoming.
Describe the protocols Amanda Skillern used in your cycles at Fora Fertility and their degree of success.
We went to Fora after 3 failed IUI attempts (wit a blocked tube) at another clinic.
Given that one of my tubes was blocked, they informed us that it is more likely that there are issues with the other one and recommended IVF. We were already planning on switching to IVF so we were all on the same page.
I underwent typical testing; bloodwork, ultrasound. All was good.
Went through the typical IVF protocol with injections and a retrieval.
They retrieved 9 eggs, and ultimately 4 made it passed all the stages and through genetic testing. This was great news! Statistically, we only should have had 1 or 2.
I was on medication to prepare for embryo transfer and I am currently pregnant from that first transfer attempt.
How competent was Amanda Skillern at LGBTQ+ care?
This was the difference maker at this clinic. They were the only ones (we had been to other clinics) that asked about our whole family plan since my partner and I both intend to carry. After hearing about us wanting to each carry two babies, they not only focused on me since I was going first, but they got into detail about my partner and wanted to do all the same testing on her to make sure that there were no issues that could impact our family plan. The other clinics just brushed her aside and said "Oh, she's young. We'll worry about her in a few years".

Describe your experience with your nurse at Fora Fertility. (Assigned nurse: Rikki)
Rikki is simply the best. No notes.
All the staff is incredible. SO nice and warm and funny!
Describe your experience with Fora Fertility.
They are masters of efficiency. You are usually in and out in about 20 minutes or so. You chat with the nurses, see the doctor for your ultrasound, ask any questions and then you're all set!
If you are someone that is very nervous and needs a long conversation about everything that is going on at every appointment...you will have a small window to chat with the doctors, but I would recommend chatting with the staff or contacting them through the portal. They respond super fast and you can always call them, too.
They explain everything in a lot of detail upfront so we didn't have too many questions throughout the process.
Describe the costs associated with your care under Amanda Skillern at Fora Fertility.
Around $25-30k
Describe Amanda Skillern's approach to eSET (elective single embryo transfer) vs. multiple embryo transfer at Fora Fertility.
Since I did not have any health concerns or reason to believe that multiple embryo transfer was needed, she did eSET, which was successful.
didn’t communicate with [Dr. Natalie Crawford] through out the process outside of procedures that didn’t give much time to talk since we were always in a time crunch...she rarely discussed any treatment or plans about what was going to happen...My treatment was basic...No discussion with me about what she was doing and why. It was just what she did.
I went through testing, egg retrieval, hysteroscopy and embryo transfer with Fora...was assigned a coordinator who was extremely rude...transfer resulted in a loss right before the second trimester...just received an email from the clinic asking me about my delivery and birth details from the transfer that I had through them
How was your experience with Natalie Crawford at Fora Fertility?
I can’t say I have much experience because I didn’t communicate with her through out the process outside of procedures that didn’t give much time to talk since we were always in a time crunch and she was between patients and whatever else she had going on. With the minimal time I did get with her, she rarely discussed any treatment or plans about what was going to happen. She had her nurses talk me through everything.
What's one piece of advice would you give a prospective patient of Natalie Crawford at Fora Fertility?
Don’t do it. There are better clinics with drs who will show compassion and humanity vs just checking you off a list as a financial gain.
During treatment, were you treated like a number or a human with Natalie Crawford at Fora Fertility?
The level of communication from her was minimal and when there was communication (after having to go through hoops to set an appt with her) the quality of time and response was lacking. Her time with patients was timed down by the minute vs giving actual care to questions. She spoke for the entirety of the time and allowed for minimal questions before the time was up for our appt. It was very apparent that it was just another task she was checking off her list before she posted on social media.
Describe the protocols Natalie Crawford used in your cycles at Fora Fertility and their degree of success.
My treatment was basic. Unknown so she was just going through the basics of what she would do. No discussion with me about what she was doing and why. It was just what she did.
Describe your experience with your nurse at Fora Fertility. (Assigned nurse: Liz)
Initially, I was assigned a coordinator who was extremely rude, no matter how much i tried to find a way to connect. She was doing her job as a robotically as I’ve ever seen. In this industry, there just can’t be a lack of compassion. It’s just not right.
Later I was assigned a different one due to some movement in their clinic and she was better but still wasn’t as informative as I have experienced later in my time with a different clinic
Describe your experience with Fora Fertility.
I’ve waited some time to rate this clinic to ensure I was speaking my truth with clarity. Fora was the first clinic I communicated with and it seemed black and white, simple. Dr. Crawford seemed knowledgeable (she’s all over social media with information which is great) and I didn’t think too far into it. I went through testing, egg retrieval, hysteroscopy and embryo transfer with Fora. The transfer resulted in a loss right before the second trimester. Looking back at my full experience (and especially after having some experience with a different clinic now), I’m appalled at their lack of service within the staff (you walk into the clinic and everyone is just chatting amongst themselves and when you’re seen, staff is cold and sterile). When you ask the dr questions, you’re met with very generic responses, and not a lot of transparency. After my loss, all I got was a message saying sorry and when asked if I could talk to my dr since I was shocked, I was told I had to basically pay to communicate further with her. I was appalled. After such a loss, you’d think your dr would show some compassion but it was very apparent that it was all about money.
They do not see their patients as people, more so as dollar signs.
It’s been a year now and I just received an email from the clinic asking me about my delivery and birth details from the transfer that I had through them. Again, completely shocked to see something like that show up in my email considering having a pregnancy loss is a highly sensitive topic, you would think they would be more careful and update their charts. Disappointed but not surprised considering my experience with them.

What specific things went wrong at Fora Fertility?
She [Dr. Natalie Crawford] spent a little over an hour consulting with me and my husband where she asked to meet our dog and referenced specific details of my intake form that told me she took the time to learn our story. She explained female reproductive things to my husband and we had a good conversation...She took the time to know us and screen for anything that may have been missed. She cares and wants us to be successful...She's going to call it like it is, but that's not because she doesn't care. She just wants to make sure you know what you best chances are. She really cares a lot.
It is about average [costs] for our area [at Fora Fertility], but their statistics are higher, they are about to own a state of the art lab, and they're transparent on cost from the beginning. They understand cost and passing till you are able to move forward. I think it's worth it...their strengths would be communication, compassion, a true family feeling, transparency, education, thorough. If you've not listened or seen Dr. Crawford's podcast or YouTube on first REI visits and questions to ask, then that's a great place to start to be prepared and make sure you find your match...The team has been extremely helpful and very responsive. Whether through a phone call or portal message, I get an answer in full detail.

We are currently waiting for financial clearance to begin our first IVF cycle, but she has been helpful and the new hope we needed. She took the time to know us and screen for anything that may have been missed. She cares and wants us to be successful.

Not there yet, but she only does single and I think this is not only safest but smartest. She's also following the scientific community's best practice in doing so.

How was your experience with Natalie Crawford at Fora Fertility?
Dr. Crawford is incredibly knowledgeable about fertility, and I do not regret going to her for my egg retrievals because she was proactive about tweaking the procedures so they would work better for me. However, it quickly became apparent that Dr. Crawford cares more about her public image than her patients, because as soon as my case wasn't producing the expected results, I was ghosted.
What's one piece of advice would you give a prospective patient of Natalie Crawford at Fora Fertility?
She is a good option if you are going to be an "easy" fertility case, but once things get tough I wouldn't expect much help or empathy. I would likely recommend Dr. Crawford to LGBTQ+ patients or patients with a better chance of conceiving via IVF.
During treatment, were you treated like a number or a human with Natalie Crawford at Fora Fertility?
Communication with the clinic was pretty poor and I was completely ghosted by Fora once I tried to inquire about transferring the low mosaic embryos I had. I had to reach out multiple times and was brushed off each time, so I ended up changing clinics. I was rarely treated like a values patient even though I had followed Dr. Crawford from her previous.
Describe your experience with the nursing staff at Fora Fertility.
The nursing staff was pretty terrible with the exception of Ricky, who was the only nurse I found warm and compassionate. I was often greeted coldly by the front desk staff and there was a sense of disorganization when I was in the office. Communication was rough, which I first chalked up to being a newer clinic, but it never improved and eventually, they just stopped responding to me when I wanted to move on to transferring low mosaic embryos or looking into egg donation.
Describe your experience with Fora Fertility.
Fora's weakness is that they care more about image than their patients. It feels more like a clique than a professional doctor's office, and if you are not welcomed into the clique it will make the experience miserable. Their strength is the knowledge that Dr. Crawford has about fertility, but the lack of compassion and communication by the clinic overshadows that.
Describe Natalie Crawford's approach to eSET (elective single embryo transfer) vs. multiple embryo transfer at Fora Fertility.
Dr. Crawford strongly preferred only transferring one embryo at a time.

Describe the specific things that went wrong at Fora Fertility.
I had a particularly poor experience after my miscarriage where my hormone levels spiked after steadily going down, so I was scheduled for a D&C. I took time off work, went to the hospital, was in my gown, and was ready to be taken in for the D&C when Dr. Crawford walked in and told me there had been a mistake with my results and I did not need the D&C unless I wanted it. I understand this mistake was a miscommunication from the lab but the nurses waited until the last minute to respond to the lab and we never received any apologies from Fora. After already going through a miscarriage, it was a lot of additional emotion and trauma.
There is very little contact with the actual doctors [Dr. Skillern]. We had a 30 minute consult online and I saw her a few times for monitoring appointments (about 2 minutes each). I saw her about 2 minutes before the egg retrieval. Unfortunately, there is little contact with the doctors...Protocols and general timelines weren't provided, even when asked. I was left wondering what protocol I would be on and what medicine I would be putting into my body. I only found out what I'd be taking when the medicine was actually delivered...

What's one piece of advice would you give a prospective patient of Amanda Skillern at Fora Fertility?
Do not expect any hand holding or to be walked through the protocol options, medicine options or the procedures.
During treatment, were you treated like a number or a human with Amanda Skillern at Fora Fertility?
You see the actual doctors for about 2 minutes during the monitoring appointments and then you're left to communicate with the nurses via portal messages only. My nurse specifically asked that I do not call with questions which I found to be odd. If I am taking powerful meds and spending a large amount of money, I want to be informed about the process and protocol chosen
.
I was showing little response to the meds so they cancelled a monitoring appointment but they did not adjust the dosages or add additional meds. I did not feel like the success of my cycle was a priority.
Describe the protocols Amanda Skillern used in your cycles at Fora Fertility and their degree of success.
Protocols and general timelines weren't provided, even when asked. I was left wondering what protocol I would be on and what medicine I would be putting into my body. I only found out what I'd be taking when the medicine was actually delivered. I did not receive any rational for why certain meds were prescribed and others, that I anticipated taking, were not prescribed.
For 12 days, I took 300 IU Follistim and I showing little response (my e2 bloodwork was only 200 after stimming for 12 days). I asked why my dosage wasn't being adjusted or why Menopur wasn't added and I simply told that wasn't the protocol I was on. A few days later, they added in menopur for two days and my e2 went up to 500. I had a AFC of 20 so I expected my e2 to be much higher since it is thought that 1 egg = approximately 200-400 e2. I was told to trigger when my e2 was 500.
I was told by Dr. Crawford that nobody wants to be a unicorn but maybe my E2 blood tests weren't pulling correctly. When you are spending 20k on a procedure, I would prefer to follow the facts instead of hoping the tests were wrong.
I was never provided the option to cancel my IVF round due to my poor response on a low dosage. About 2/3 were not mature as my bloodwork indicated would be the case.

Describe your experience with Fora Fertility.
There is a clear conflict of interest with the "Fora Pharmacy" program and providing care that is in your best interest. If you do not use all of your meds, you have to give your unused meds to them. If you use more meds than they planned for, then they will supply meds. I used more meds than what they anticipated but when I showed very little response to the meds, they did not increase my dosage accordingly (as it would be a cost to their clinic).
Fora does not provide a discount for additional rounds as well. I did not have any embryos from the IVF cycle and was not given a discounted rate for another round.
I did not see any strengths in their clinic.
Describe the costs associated with your care under Amanda Skillern at Fora Fertility.
$16,250 for retrieval
$4,290 for the transfer
$508 saline ultrasound (mock)
$616 for doctors visits if pregnant
TOTAL: $21,664 + meds which are generally 5k-9k

Describe the specific things that went wrong at Fora Fertility.
-I was not informed about timelines, medicines, and protocols, even when asked.
-The nurse I was assigned asked me not to call with questions.
-They failed to adjust the meds when I wasn't responding.
-I was provided with leftover meds to use that were not packaged and were once used by someone else.
-My bloodwork showed that the current med/dosage was ineffective and they still scheduled me to retrieval and did not give the option to cancel the cycle due to poor response. Instead, I was told maybe I'm a unicorn and my bloodwork is wrong.
-The clinic its very run down.
-2/3 of my eggs were not mature and unusable. I did not get any embryos from the round.
- I was not provided a discount for another round, even though my first round yielded zero embryos.
Dr. Crawford is incredibly knowledgeable and knows her craft very well! She takes pride in her work and I can tell that she loves helping people build their families. She is so experienced in the fertility field and it really shows in her work...listened to me and researched all the data that my body provided and then she explained results to me thoroughly. She answered all of my questions with patience and empathy.
The [Fora Fertility] clinic is a well-oiled machine and they attend to you quickly. They made time for questions and explained all steps thoroughly. I rarely waited more than 10 minutes to be seen. They book your appointments in advance but make adjustments quickly if needed. I was so pleased with their services...Both nurses were so kind and always put me at ease. They answered all of my questions and never made me feel like any question was too silly. They both took wonderful care of me.

Describe the protocols Natalie Crawford used in your cycles at Fora Fertility and their degree of success.
My 3 IVF cycles seemed to be “by the book” so to speak in the sense that my body responded very well to the protocol. The doctor adjusted the time of my trigger shot during the second egg retrieval due to trying to ensure my eggs were mature and ready. That adjust brought forth a healthy, viable embryo.

Melissa (Mel) was my primary nurse but I also had Ricki as well. Both nurses were so kind and always put me at ease. They answered all of my questions and never made me feel like any question was too silly. They both took wonderful care of me.

Describe your experience with your monitoring appointments at Fora Fertility.
My monitoring appointments were quick and easy in the sense that I was always seen on time. The Dr. Crawford was able to assess me and provided follow up. She made time to answer my questions as well. I was aware of the next steps each and every time.
Describe the costs associated with your care under Natalie Crawford at Fora Fertility.
For the first two IVF cycles we used our insurance but paid mostly out of pocket. For the third IVF cycle, my husband’s company offered Progyny, which paid for 90% of the cycle as well as the transfer and storage. We were well aware of the cost in advance before we began any treatment as the office was upfront with costs.
Describe Natalie Crawford's approach to eSET (elective single embryo transfer) vs. multiple embryo transfer at Fora Fertility.
I didn’t even consider or ask for the possibility of a multiple embryo transfer due to the possibility of more than one child. Both processes were explained to me but the data and my age made eSET the best approach.
[Dr. Crawford] is very kind but our encounters are very brief. I get the feeling that she will answer any questions I have, but the answers are brief, and our encounters feel a bit rushed. Ultimately, I feel I am in good hands... I researched and learned a lot of great information before choosing her as my doctor. As a patient, I do not feel I have gotten the degree of detail and education on every step of the process I expected
Fora Fertility is marketed as a boutique fertility clinic and they are working on that goal. They are not there yet. The biggest barrier I see to this goal is staffing. It seems their current nursing staff is overworked and stretched thin. Doctor Crawford and Skillern need to do everything they can to support their nurses. The billing coordinator, the receptionist, and the other staff I have interacted with have been kind and helpful.
How was your experience with Natalie Crawford at Fora Fertility?
Dr. Crawford has a very educational podcast/youtube channel. I researched and learned a lot of great information before choosing her as my doctor. As a patient, I do not feel I have gotten the degree of detail and education on every step of the process I expected. I still utilize the education she provides on her podcast, but do not expect that she will make you feel as informed if you are a patient and do not listen to her podcasts seperately.
As a patient, she is very kind but our encounters are very brief. I get the feeling that she will answer any questions I have, but the answers are brief, and our encounters feel a bit rushed.
Ultimately, I feel I am in good hands. I got a good result from my retrieval and I trust that we will achieve our goals with her as our doctor.
What's one piece of advice would you give a prospective patient of Natalie Crawford at Fora Fertility?
She is building a new practice and building her online presence. She does not give the same attention to you that she does her other endeavors. That being said, she is available and approachable and, as with most doctors, you must advocate for yourself and be sure you are asking lots of questions as the process unfolds.
During treatment, were you treated like a number or a human with Natalie Crawford at Fora Fertility?
I feel like Dr. Crawford says things during appointments that reference information that is unique to my case and our previous encounters. This helps me feel like it is a more personal interaction. Also, my nurse is very approachable and personable and I definitey feel like she does a good job of explaining everything and also remembers our previous interactions.
Describe the protocols Natalie Crawford used in your cycles at Fora Fertility and their degree of success.
I don't remember the name of the protocol, but for our retrieval, we used Follistim and menopur for stims and ganirelix to prevent premature ovulation. We triggered with pregnyl/lupron. Rationale for this protocol was because they predicted I would be a high responder due to my AFC of 20. The retrieval was successful with 27 eggs retrieved, 22 fertilized, 11 embryos, 6 of which were PGT normal achieved.
My thyroid was tested and I was started on Synthroid during this time after retrieval to prep for transfer. Additionally, vitamin D levels were checked.
For our FET, we did a modified natural cycle with letrozole, frequent monitoring appointments, IM injections of Progesterone in oil, doxycyline, and methylprednisolone. The rationale for this protocol was my preference and the fact that I ovulated regularly/normally prior to fertility treatments. Although my lining was 7.5 mm, this ended in a chemical pregnancy.
The next step for us is an ERA cycle to ensure my endometrial receptivity is properly timed with progesterone exposure. For this cycle, we will utilize a controlled cycle; this means I will not ovulate at all. Lupron injections are used to keep my ovaries "quiet". Estrace is used to build my endometrial lining. Methylprednisolone and doxycyline/ PIO injections are used just as with an FET but instead of transferring an embryo at the end of the cycle, they will do two endometrial biopsies, 2 days apart, to determine receptivity. Because we are utilizing a controlled cycle for the ERA, we will do a controlled cycle for the next transfer to reduce as many variables as possible.
Describe your experience with your nurse at Fora Fertility. (Assigned nurse: Melissa)
The nursing staff is excellent. Absolutely fantastic, organized, personable, and willing to answer questions. They are, however, understaffed and overworked. They need support and I believe they could be even better, if additional nurses were hired to support the team.

Describe Natalie Crawford's approach to eSET (elective single embryo transfer) vs. multiple embryo transfer at Fora Fertility.
My doctor only gave the option for 1 PGT normal embryo to be transfered at a time.
Appointments [with Dr. Crawford] were rushed. She talked to me as if I knew all of the acronyms, the processes or remembered every single word she told me from previous visits. Dr Crawford did not like when I asked questions or challenged something she said. She used a lot of generalizations as it related to my own very personal and unique situation....
All staff and doctors [at Fora Fertility] are women which I typically like. In general there is a lack of professionalism and accountability...She [nurse] was the least detailed oriented person and had next to no compassion. It was obvious she didn't like her job and she ultimately left the clinic...Crawford will only transfer one embryo at a time due to the risks of multiples....
How was your experience with Natalie Crawford at Fora Fertility?
I started seeing Dr Crawford at another clinic. Initially, I was very impressed by her. She is very active on social media and has her own podcast which can be very educational and helpful! Unfortunately, she's not as she appears on social media. I can absolutely see the appeal from followers who aren't her actual patients. But she is not the same at all once you become a patient. I followed her to her new practice because I was afraid to start over with someone new. She had a lot of growing pains opening the new office. She even charged more for the same thing I had already paid for at the old clinic and got refunded to follow her. Absolutely no loyalty. I did two ivf cycles and had 1 embryo which was not successful. Ultimately, I was a patient of hers for 1.5 years before switching to a new Dr. Upon switching, I learned I had a significant uterine disorder that was not curable. How did she miss that? Did she know and not tell me? Had I known I could no longer carry, I would have seeked out a GC. My new Dr easily found it on ultrasound only a couple of months after I stopped seeing Crawford. She cost me my one and only embryo.
What's one piece of advice would you give a prospective patient of Natalie Crawford at Fora Fertility?
If your situation is anything outside of the normal happy path, seek another Dr. Don't let her social media, podcasts or YouTube videos lure you in. She doesn't put the same effort or passion into her patients.
During treatment, were you treated like a number or a human with Natalie Crawford at Fora Fertility?
Appointments were rushed. She talked to me as if I knew all of the acronyms, the processes or remembered every single word she told me from previous visits. Dr Crawford did not like when I asked questions or challenged something she said. She used a lot of generalizations as it related to my own very personal and unique situation.
Describe your experience with your nurse at Fora Fertility. (Assigned nurse: Lexi)
She was the least detailed oriented person and had next to no compassion. It was obvious she didn't like her job and she ultimately left the clinic.
Describe your experience with Fora Fertility.
All staff and doctors are women which I typically like. In general there is a lack of professionalism and accountability. Sometimes bigger practices can be off putting but at least they run more like a well oiled machine. Fora has a ways to go.
Describe the costs associated with your care under Natalie Crawford at Fora Fertility.
IVF cycle with pgs testing was roughly 28k
Describe Natalie Crawford's approach to eSET (elective single embryo transfer) vs. multiple embryo transfer at Fora Fertility.
Crawford will only transfer one embryo at a time due to the risks of multiples.

How was your experience with Amanda Skillern at Fora Fertility?
Dr. Skillern has been through IVF herself which is an immense advantage… she knows exactly how it feels to be on the other side of the table. When luck was not on my side, Dr. Skillern was encouraging and direct when it came to my individual obstacles and tweaked our protocol accordingly to give me the best possible chance at conceiving.
What's one piece of advice would you give a prospective patient of Amanda Skillern at Fora Fertility?
Do not expect someone who is going to give you false hope - Dr. Skillern will tell you information in a forthright manner which was greatly appreciated by me. If I was going to spend the money/time/energy to pursue IVF, I wanted to know that the information I was getting was data-driven and realistic.

Dr. Skillern was very invested in my personal journey to motherhood and listened to all of our concerns. Her explanations for treatment were thorough and direct, which I appreciated.
Describe the protocols Amanda Skillern used in your cycles at Fora Fertility and their degree of success.
I was put on a typical egg retrieval protocol for PCOS and had great results (29 eggs retrieved, 23 mature, 18 fertilized, 9 developed to 5-day blast stage, 8 were found to be euploid after PGS testing. When my first two transfers ended with negative pregnancy tests, Dr. Skillern suggested a “tickle” procedure to help my lining and also prescribed vaginal viagra. My 3rd transfer was successful. For my second child, Dr. Skillern suggested completing an ERA analysis before transferring an embryo to check progesterone levels and receptivity. My ERA came back pre-receptive, and my protocol was updated to account for additional progesterone. My 4th transfer was successful.
Describe your experience with your nurse at Fora Fertility. (Assigned nurse: Rikki Richardson)
Rikki was my angel throughout the ivf process and was incredibly easy to communicate with.

Fora was extremely easy to schedule with, even considering the craziness of the pandemic. Billing was simple. I never had an issue with the clinic and would recommend them to anyone wanting a more individual experience.
Describe the costs associated with your care under Amanda Skillern at Fora Fertility.
I don’t remember.
Describe Amanda Skillern's approach to eSET (elective single embryo transfer) vs. multiple embryo transfer at Fora Fertility.
Dr. Skillern strongly advocates for single embryo transfer which I appreciate and support. There are so many complications that can arise from carrying multiples that the risk is not worth it in my opinion.
My first experience with Dr. Crawford was an HSG...walked in to the exam room, barely introduced herself and didn’t ask me any questions about why I was there or provide information about what was going to happen...did the procedure which was extremely painful and told me not to sit up and opened the door with my feet still in the stirrups, exposing me to anyone outside the door and left. I was not able to talk to Dr. Crawford or get any information at all unless I scheduled a separate appointment two weeks later to “establish care” even though I had just had an invasive procedure in her office.
The staff at Fora is very apathetic. They provide very little information and if they do help you at all, they make it seem like they are going way out of their way for you. Everything about my experience with Fora staff has been very questionable and it made my treatment much much more difficult then it should have been...would not schedule me or let me know what days were available or even talk to me at all until I paid in full online.
How was your experience with Natalie Crawford at Fora Fertility?
I was given very little information from Dr. Crawford. I had to switch doctors as soon as I was able and found out from my new provider that I was not the first patient to leave Fora Fertility because of bad experiences.
Dr. Crawford prescribed me medications that my new provider indicated were not necessary and I should not be taking. I was prescribed these medications from Dr. Crawford without any information on what she was prescribing and why, or how to take them. I had an idea that was the case so I pushed back on this and Fora demanded that I take them and called me to make sure I took the meds.
My new provider has had many concerns about Dr. Crawfords approach to my treatment.
Additionally, I was not given any information on when my surgery would need to be scheduled. I was not given a timeframe or any details to prepare which I had asked for because I needed to prepare to take time off of work. They would not schedule me or let me know what days were available or even talk to me at all until I paid in full online. There was a line item for an unexplained dollar amount for services rendered that day and I was required to submit payment without a bill, an explanation, or any idea of when the producer would happen (or if it would happen at all). I was forced to pay to get anyone to talk to me and then I received a call with the time of my surgery. Still no date provided... and then I found out it was schedule one day out which put my life in a panic. My new provider let me know that this is a procedure that can most certainly be planned for and scheduled ahead of time so the entire experience was not only nerve racking but completely unnecessary.
What's one piece of advice would you give a prospective patient of Natalie Crawford at Fora Fertility?
I would never recommend that a friend or prospective patient seek care with Dr. Crawford. My advice would be to search for a reputable clinic.

This clinic was pretty sketchy. I did not feel at any time like I was working with a team of medical professionals. Their communication, billing practices, treatments, and especially facility all left much to be desired.

I should also mention that after my consultation with Dr. Crawford she provided a treatment plan and indicated that her team would contact me for next steps and testing. This never happened and I have not been able to have any of these tests done. If you want to get treated at Fora you have to fight for yourself. Hard.
She [Dr. Natalie Crawford] talked to me in the same way she would talk to her sister regarding fertility advice. She explained the scientific version of things and was also attentive to the emotional side...Ask her about her own experience and her podcast...a godsend for women like me who want to be mothers but could not follow the easiest path to get there
To me, Fora is more than a clinic, it is a movement. It is run by women who really know their craft. These women took risks to create this clinic. They went out on a limb to follow their own principles and realize their own dreams. These women are doing what they believe in every day. They do it for themselves and they do it for their patients.

Describe the costs associated with your care under Natalie Crawford at Fora Fertility.
We were paying out of pocket and were surprised by the separate cost of transfer after we had paid for the egg retrieval etc already.
Dr. Crawford makes sure you understand what is going on at all times and why your treatment plan/recommendations make sense for you as an individual. She never makes you feel rushed or like you can't ask more questions...She also does her own monitoring appointments and makes sure you are progressing as expected and is quick to course correct.
Everyone at Fora Fertility is amazing. I cannot speak highly enough of them. I am a very anxious human and they have always treated me with patience, compassion, and respect...The biggest strengths are that is a boutique clinic so you really only have a small handful of people involved in your care. You are not just a number. They have also made sure to stay open through bad weather and have done a great job with the COVID protocols to ensure the safety of everyone and that cycles do not get cancelled.
How was your experience with Natalie Crawford at Fora Fertility?
Dr. Crawford makes sure you know what is happening, what the next steps are, and is really good about scheduling additional appointments outside of monitoring to give you a chance to talk through your treatment together.
What's one piece of advice would you give a prospective patient of Natalie Crawford at Fora Fertility?
Do not be afraid to ask questions about anything.

Describe the protocols Natalie Crawford used in your cycles at Fora Fertility and their degree of success.
I am currently just starting my first IVF round with her so while I do have a tentative plan in front of me, I know that can change. With IUI we had one cycle where I wasn't producing follicles and she changed medication doses mid cycle to help me produce those follicles. She also does her own monitoring appointments and makes sure you are progressing as expected and is quick to course correct.

The costs were aligned with other clinics I looked into.
Dr. Crawford is knowledgeable, data-driven, and had decent success rates for people in our age group/situation. She made an impression of the person who would get the job done, and she did!...We were advised to do the single transfer...The journey was not smooth sailing. First, we had to cancel one cycle because we didn't get enough eggs to mature and had to double down on meds (Gonal and Menopur). The second medication cycle got us to retrieval, but way fewer blasts than we were hoping for. However, finally, we got the embryo we needed...
If you are looking for extra compassion and a therapist in your fertility doctor, Fora is probably not for you. Personally, I was not looking for these things here. I just needed a positive pregnancy test. So if you are like me, data-driven, result-oriented, and committed to getting pregnant, this is the best team in town...the Fora team for - Being highly organized. This includes appointments, patients portal, communication, and clarity on pricing. - Focusing on getting the job done. Each bump on the road was tackled as best as possible...

Thanks to her great work I am now a mom of a beautiful and healthy little boy!

IVF is a challenging and emotionally draining experience. If you are looking for extra compassion and a therapist in your fertility doctor, Fora is probably not for you. Personally, I was not looking for these things here. I just needed a positive pregnancy test.

Describe the protocols Natalie Crawford used in your cycles at Fora Fertility and their degree of success.
My fertility journey started in 2020, unexplained with a minor male factor. I went through 3 rounds of IUIs at Aspire with no success.
Shortly we learned IVF is our next step. We had no insurance coverage for fertility and were fully self-paid.
I interviewed every single clinic in town to pick my provider.
My top priority was getting the result (pregnancy and healthy baby).
The price mattered but was not our number one factor in this decision.
We picked Fora, and it was the best decision ever made.
The journey was not smooth sailing. First, we had to cancel one cycle because we didn't get enough eggs to mature and had to double down on meds (Gonal and Menopur).
The second medication cycle got us to retrieval, but way fewer blasts than we were hoping for. However, finally, we got the embryo we needed.
The very first transfer was successful, and nine months later, I had my baby boy, cute, happy and healthy.
Describe your experience with Fora Fertility.
I am eternally grateful to the Fora team for
- Being highly organized.
This includes appointments, patients portal, communication, and clarity on pricing.
- Focusing on getting the job done.
Each bump on the road was tackled as best as possible. And there will be bumps on this road.
- Providing context and options for each decision we were making.
I felt informed and in the loop at all times.
The somewhat weakness is this team will not play the role of your therapist. If you are looking for a lot of compassion and emotional support, Fora might not be for you.
They also won't let you buy outrageously expensive IVF medications abroad (think Canada or UK) where they cost a fraction of the US price, which was disappointing. But overall, I understand why they have this policy.
Describe the costs associated with your care under Natalie Crawford at Fora Fertility.
$15000 for retrieval
$5000 (+-) for meds per cycle (in my case I spent $9000 due to one canceled cycle.
$3500 for FET
$800 FET meds
Around $100 on co-pays for ultrasounds.
Describe Natalie Crawford's approach to eSET (elective single embryo transfer) vs. multiple embryo transfer at Fora Fertility.
Dr Skillern is incredibly smart and honest. With google at our fingertips, she is readily able to expel or support any information we brought to a visit. Even with her own research studies she personally conducted. I am 9 weeks tomorrow, all because of her brilliance...so incredibly smart. She takes the time to answer any/all questions we have, often before we even ask. 10/10!!!!!!

Describe the protocols Amanda Skillern used in your cycles at Fora Fertility and their degree of success.
I am 43, with unexplained infertility. The clinic I was with previously had me over medicated. Which, as I’m sure most know, is a costly and wasteful endeavor. Dr Skillern had a systemic protocol, specifically for me (Menopur, Gonal and Omnitrope; followed by a trigger).
Describe your experience with your nurse at Fora Fertility. (Assigned nurse: Rikki❤️)
Rikki is by far one of the best humans I’ve had the pleasure of meeting. She is so helpful (again, with my incessant googling or when I missed a dose of estrogen). She is heaven-sent!

Describe Amanda Skillern's approach to eSET (elective single embryo transfer) vs. multiple embryo transfer at Fora Fertility.
We transferred one embryo and she’s progressing nicely. The risk of multiples isn’t worth it (imo). Infertility is so hard already.
Dr. Skillern keeps it real - balance deep knowledge of science, statistics and options with the experience of a human who’s been through this herself...We were able to make healthy embryos but my body wouldn’t accept the transfer, so we turned to surrogacy, which was successful the first time...I am writing this review on Mother’s Day with a profound sense of gratitude for this team that helped me become a mother. I thoroughly appreciated that Dr. Skillern would tell us the honest facts about each step in our journey. She never sugar coated the truth when it came to our chances for success along the way. I didn't want someone to feel bad for me or treat me like a number, but rather a partner to reach an end goal - a baby for us!...She knew we didn't want to chance having additional miscarriages but rather "have a baby" in the most direct way possible.
Fora was much smaller than the other clinics we looked at, much to our preference...we were willing to pay a bit more for the hands-on care we received. The clinic itself was brand new when we started with Dr. Skillern so they were still getting organized around paperwork and protocols, but never to the detriment of us as the patient. They were excited to be doing their jobs and creating this space for women.
How was your experience with Amanda Skillern at Fora Fertility?
Strengths: Direct, clear communication of expectations, realistic, compassionate while still focused on the end goal, motivated to succeed for each individual patient.

She's very clear and direct. If you want a lot of emotion surrounding your situation you may not appreciate her because she's down to business. Her bedside manner is fantastic if you are goal-driven and focused.
During treatment, were you treated like a number or a human with Amanda Skillern at Fora Fertility?
Dr. Skillern and Dr. Crawford have created a fantastic environment at Fora Fertility. The staff has worked for them for years and it felt like they really cared about my progress and our personal journey. Everyone knew who we were and were invested in our success.
Describe the protocols Amanda Skillern used in your cycles at Fora Fertility and their degree of success.
Given my consecutive losses, Dr. Skillern immediately ruled out IUI. I had an "ok" number of eggs but bad quality, so quickly she recommended IVF and explained why. She knew we didn't want to chance having additional miscarriages but rather "have a baby" in the most direct way possible.
We started with a typical protocol for egg retrieval - birth control to normalize followed by the hormone injections. Unfortunately, we got only 3 embryos and none were normal. We decided to proceed with a second round, adding HGH. We ended up with 6 embryos, 4 normal. Since I had no uterine issues we forewent a mock transfer in favor for the frozen embryo transfer after genetic testing.
Describe your experience with your nurse at Fora Fertility. (Assigned nurse: Rikki)
Rikki was amazing!! She has worked with Dr. Skillern for 10 years and you could tell their relationship was easy and beneficial for the patient.
Describe your experience with Fora Fertility.
Fora was much smaller than the other clinics we looked at, much to our preference. The other main option in town (Texas Fertility) felt like a fertility factory and we were willing to pay a bit more for the hands-on care we received. The clinic itself was brand new when we started with Dr. Skillern so they were still getting organized around paperwork and protocols, but never to the detriment of us as the patient. They were excited to be doing their jobs and creating this space for women.
Describe the costs associated with your care under Amanda Skillern at Fora Fertility.
Each egg retrieval totaled ~$25K with medications and the embryo transfer was ~$8K with medications.
Describe Amanda Skillern's approach to eSET (elective single embryo transfer) vs. multiple embryo transfer at Fora Fertility.
Dr. Skillern would not have done a multiple embryo transfer and we were 100% in favor of that approach, never wanting to chance multiples. She was clear that there were only a handful of edge cases during which she would consider it, and if so, she would require counseling for the patient.
Dr. Skillern was just what my husband and I needed throughout this journey. We wanted someone data-driven, thorough, and straight-forward with her prognosis and treatment plan. If you are looking for someone to hold your hand and be your emotional support during this, she may not be for you. She always answered all our questions and has a great sense of humor that gets you to feel calm during monitoring sessions/procedures. Dr. Skillern never made us feel hopeless about our situation and we left every appointment feeling excited about our next steps. My experience with Dr. Skillern was incredibly positive and we had a wonderful IVF experience with great results with her.
This clinic [Fora Fertility] is truly a boutique so keep that in mind. If you are looking for a big, well-oiled machine, they might not be for you. We liked the small, intimate feel of this practice and appreciated that everything for us was tailored to our specific needs. You truly get to know all the staff like family since this practice is so small...Rikki was my primary nurse and I loved her. She was so thorough, kind, and a great communicator. She never made me feel like I was asking too many questions, or being a pain and I really appreciated that. She took the time to genuinely listen to anything we had to say and would explain everything in great detail.

During treatment, were you treated like a number or a human with Amanda Skillern at Fora Fertility?
Dr. Skillern was incredibly thorough with me and I felt as though my case was specifically tailored for me and my needs. All my medications/dosages/etc were continuously monitored throughout my treatment and was altered as needed. Everyone was so kind and really listened to me and my husband throughout this process.
Describe the protocols Amanda Skillern used in your cycles at Fora Fertility and their degree of success.
For my treatment plan, I used Gonal for about 12/13 days. I responded perfectly, with lots of follicles and was closely monitored throughout the process. Towards the end, my dose was altered to achieve the results we wanted based on bloodwork results. I eventually added in Ganirelix to prevent ovulation. Since I was a high responder, I triggered with Lupron and had an incredibly successful egg retrieval. 32 eggs retrieved, 27 were mature, 20 made it 5 day blastocysts (and subsequently PGT tested), and 13 embryos were chromosomally normal.

Describe the costs associated with your care under Amanda Skillern at Fora Fertility.
I had insurance which was helpful, but overall, it was still really expensive. For one cycle of IVF (egg retrieval, PGT testing, anesthesia, monitoring all included) it was 10K. With insurance all my meds only cost me $500. Embryo transfer was around 2K with subsequent OB ultrasounds costing around $300. In total, the costs were around $12,900.
Describe Amanda Skillern's approach to eSET (elective single embryo transfer) vs. multiple embryo transfer at Fora Fertility.
Dr. Skillern really only transfers a single embryo unless some other medical reason to transfer multiple. This was perfectly ok with us.
I was extremely nervous going into IVF and immediately felt like I was on the right path when I met Dr. Skillern. She was direct and took the time to educate me, and answer our questions. She also brought a wonderful sense of humor, which is so needed in this process to keep your spirits up...She is not a Dr. who just tells you what you want to hear, which can be hard for people looking for certain answers. She will not sugar coat the state of your fertility or your options – so if you're ready for the truth, go see her.
Loved the boutique feel of this clinic, think that helps you feel like a human and not a number. Unlike a lot of offices, Fora feels cool and modern vs. old, cold, sterile and ugly. While it's not necessarily a weakness, it would be nice for them to be able to do treatments under the same roof...This was my first experience going into a clinic and not caring who I saw because everyone was so amazing. I felt equally at home with Rikki and Mel and actually ended up seeing one for most of my clinic visits and one for my transfers so there was some consistency there. Excellent communicators, I never wondered what was going to happen next and they answered all my questions.
How was your experience with Amanda Skillern at Fora Fertility?
I was extremely nervous going into IVF and immediately felt like I was on the right path when I met Dr. Skillern. She was direct and took the time to educate me, and answer our questions. She also brought a wonderful sense of humor, which is so needed in this process to keep your spirits up.
What's one piece of advice would you give a prospective patient of Amanda Skillern at Fora Fertility?
She is not a Dr. who just tells you what you want to hear, which can be hard for people looking for certain answers. She will not sugar coat the state of your fertility or your options – so if you're ready for the truth, go see her.
During treatment, were you treated like a number or a human with Amanda Skillern at Fora Fertility?
They genuinely acted like they were excited to see me during my visits. The communication was clear and kind. The care was so good I didn't want to go back to my OB!

Describe your experience with Fora Fertility.
Loved the boutique feel of this clinic, think that helps you feel like a human and not a number. Unlike a lot of offices, Fora feels cool and modern vs. old, cold, sterile and ugly. While it's not necessarily a weakness, it would be nice for them to be able to do treatments under the same roof but going to Aspire was also a great experience and close by so just something to be aware of.
Describe the costs associated with your care under Amanda Skillern at Fora Fertility.
Mine were covered by my benefits
Describe Amanda Skillern's approach to eSET (elective single embryo transfer) vs. multiple embryo transfer at Fora Fertility.
Obviously at my age (38) I would've liked the option to transfer more than one embryo but I understood why she only recommended one.
From day 1 under Dr. Crawford and Fora's care, we felt extremely cared for and seen...They always took the time to explain every step of the process, answered portal messages in a timely manner and made sure we felt comfortable with every decision within our protocols...For IVF, we did a modified natural cycle, grew follicles with Follistim & Menopur, had a successful egg retrieval and fertilized eggs via ICSI...
[nurses at Fora Fertility] Always helpful and pleasant...The only thing I think could be a bit more organized is their billing department. Sometimes we had to go back to their billing team to question invoices and sometimes we would receive credits for ongoing care which became a little confusing...We were always catered to, our questions were always answered in a timely manner and all and all, treated like a human being going through a very tough journey that is infertility...
How was your experience with Natalie Crawford at Fora Fertility?
We cannot thank Fora Fertility enough for all they have done for our family. After watching Dr. Crawford's content on YouTube and finding out that she was indeed practicing in Austin, I knew she was going to be our first choice for care after experiencing a loss and months of infertility to follow. From day 1 under Dr. Crawford and Fora's care, we felt extremely cared for and seen. The way they approach client care is exceptional—honestly the best I have ever experienced. They always took the time to explain every step of the process, answered portal messages in a timely manner and made sure we felt comfortable with every decision within our protocols. After working with Fora for about a year and a half, we finally underwent IVF with their practice and now have a beautiful baby boy on the way arriving this July. My husband and I truly cannot express our gratitude enough for all that Fora has done for us to make our dream of starting a family a reality. They will always have a special place in our hearts and will be the sole practice we refer others to for their fertility care.

Dr. Skillern provided all possible options for my wife and I and helped us make the best choice for our LGBTQ family...completely patient-centered care specific to our particular situation and needs, guided by our goal for our family...We chose to do reciprocal IVF...Our first transfer from our first retrieval resulted in our perfect daughter...We are moving back to California next month, but will be back in Austin without question for Baby #2. We couldn't imagine trusting our future with anyone else.
Fora was welcoming, respectful, and knowledgeable about our needs and desires for our family as a queer couple...you are treated as an individual patient, with unique goals and circumstances and plans. You're also treated as a whole person, going through a difficult process, who deserves to be informed and cared for throughout it. I would recommend Fora to anyone looking for a careful, conscientious place to do IVF.
How was your experience with Amanda Skillern at Fora Fertility?
I could not recommend Fora Fertility more. Dr. Skillern and Rikki Richardson were a team made for us; they were consistently honest, careful, thorough, and patient-centered throughout our entire process. My wife and I met Dr. Skillern April of 2020. She did thorough testing and guided us through the options for us, laying out statistical likelihoods of each path and leaving the decision up to us. We chose to do reciprocal IVF and began the first cycle in the summer. Dr. Skillern proscribed our meds and monitored everything to make sure all was aligned for the retrievals and transfers. Our first transfer from our first retrieval resulted in our perfect daughter, born in summer 2021. We are moving back to California next month, but will be back in Austin without question for Baby #2. We couldn't imagine trusting our future with anyone else.

Describe your experience with your nurse at Fora Fertility. (Assigned nurse: Rikki Richardson)
Rikki is amazing. She was so organized, coordinated everything, cared for us deeply, and made sure everything went as smoothly as possible. Everyday for months, we came in for Rikki's injection clinic, building not only confidence in our path but a beautiful friendship along the way. Our first retrieval resulted in one embryo and our second resulted in three because Dr. Skillern and Rikki assessed and adjusted based on the results from the first retrieval, always working as hard as possible for the best outcome for each patient. Every day with our daughter is a gift and we will forever be grateful to Fora Fertility and our dream team Dr. Skillern and Rikki for making our most beautiful dreams materialize.

Multiple myomectomies/hysteroscopies and one laparoscopy for uterine fibroids and endometriosis. Two rounds of IVF. A successful first FET with a perfect baby girl (now toddler). A more challenging attempt at our second child, with some canceled cycles and two unsuccessful FETs before finally finding the right protocol for my changing body. I'm now 20 weeks pregnant with our next baby girl.

Dr. Crawford is so knowledgeable and cares about her mission of educating families and helping them conceive. She is warm, smart, and gets down to business. My care plan felt very customized for me. When setbacks occurred, she was there with me, ready with a plan. She Performed my egg retrieval, a surgery to remove polyps after a canceled transfer, and my FET that resulted in a positive pregnancy.
Fora is incredibly organized and run like a tight ship. I never waited long for my appointment. They are extremely communicative with the portal. They work as a team, so you see both doctors and different nurses. The care plan felt very customized for me...Mel was the best care coordinator. She was responsive and organized with a clear plan. She was always one step ahead. She’s also very warm and compassionate. I felt like she was rooting for me.
