Dr. Kaufmann is an extremely nice doctor and has excellent bedside manner. However, we tried 3 IUI's and then he recommended IVF. I have several large fibroids and I kept asking him if we needed to take care of them and he just kept saying that he didn't think they were affecting anything. I wanted to get a second opinion because I just felt like the fibroids were causing my infertility. I saw a different RE and it was decided in the first appointment that the fibroids could absolutely be affecting my fertility and taking all the blood supply from my uterus. I had a mini-laparotomy last week and will be resuming the TTC journey in about a month! So overall, he is nice, I'm just not sure he considers all options before recommending IVF.

I did 3 IUI's. All with clomid, trigger shot about 2 days before the insemination.

Approximately $1200 per IUI, not including the medications or trigger shots.

We only went for a consult after a friend has a recommended him. We were not impressed with the initial consult. Dr.Kaufman and his nurses bragged how good he was and it felt a little played up for show. He didn't want research and test to see what was causing my infertility but rather start very over priced IUI. We ended up not perusing treatment due to the cost. They wanted to charge $800 just for having my Ob/Gyn do the follicle scans in my home town. My overall thought of him as a doctor was just average.

It has been several years ago when we say Dr.Kaufman. He wanted to do Follistem with Clomid and IUI with positive ovulation predictor kit.

I'm not %100 on the cost so I don't want to lead anyone wrong. It was much more expensive than our last clinic.

It has been a few years since I went to Dr Kaufmann. I already knew that I had endometriosis at this point and I needed him to help me get pregnant. He never "beat around the bush". He told me all of the facts and options. I could see the care in his eyes. He always had a smile on his face and was so kind. unfortunately with my disease, I was unable to produce my own eggs. Dr Kaufmann referred me to another doctor for further treatment on my endometriosis. If it weren't for him and his knowledge, Im not sure what I would have gone through but I am in such a better place in my life and it was with his help

Be honest with him. Ask all of the questions you have and he will be honest with you

I never made it to a cycle. He quickly found that I do not produce my own eggs and referred me to a specialist that could help me further in my endometriosis. I appreciated him for being honest and not wasting my time and money on unnecessary treatments. Instead, he pointed me in the right direction to save my life from this horrible disease

There isn't a thing I'd change about our experience with him. Each time he saw me he didn't have look at my chart to remember me and my story, maybe he did that before walking through the door, but I was never the wiser.

Have faith in the process and voice your concerns because he will listen to you. Have a good sense of humor, he can joke with the best but that doesn't take away from his professionalism nor his ability to understand when to be serious. I enjoy a warm bedside manner and he definitely delivered. Be compliant with his instructions to ensure optimal outcomes.

I was a patient with PCOS, hyper/hypo thyroidism, type 2 diabetic and overweight. We did one round of testing for blocked fallopian tubes and my husband had to provide a sample for count analysis it was determined that the infertility was my issue as suspected. I was already on metformin when I started with Dr. Kaufmann and for my first cycle we did a round of Clomid which I did not respond to as he wanted based on my follicle growth. I thought I'd have to wait a month for the next cycle but he just piggy-backed the next treatment on top. He ordered a round of injectables that were delivered to my door via the mail to self-administer for a week. I had follow-up visits to track the follicles during the week then he scheduled a trigger shot to release eggs and a coordinated IUI. After the IUI, I was put on progestrone for the first trimester. I returned to the office for scheduled bloodwork 2 weeks later and my hgh ranges came back positive in the pregnancy for multiples range. I was released from the his care after 10 or so weeks to my OBGYN and Perimaternal specialists. 37 weeks and 4 days after my IUI we welcomed full term boy/girl twins.

Less than $2000 including medication. Worked with my insurance at the time and most was covered under insurance.

He is very patient and explains things extremely well. He has a great bedside manner and makes sure to call you at home if a cycle canceled or failed. Dr. Patel also works diligently to make sure you are comfortable and not in pain during your visit.

His positivity is infectious, I am so glad I switched to this clinic. They are thorough and try very hard to help you succeed.

Since I have been with Dr. Patel, we have done oral and injectables. I take clomid and letrozole with Gonal F or menopur injections.

Each cycle has a universal set price for IUI. You play a flat rate to include ultrasounds and insemination.

Dr. Kaufmann is a doctor that I look forward to seeing. He always greeted me with a smile and remembered me. He was very thorough when going over my treatment plans. After our first IUI did not work, he changed his course to find things that would better work for me. I feel Dr. Kaufmann did his very best for us and I am hoping we can go back to see him soon for IVF.

To not be afraid, he is so kind and will answer any questions you have. He treats us like humans and never made me feel bad for having so many questions.

I don't remember all treatment protocols.. we went through 4 IUI's over a few months last year. We did change things up each time. He did find what my body responded well to.

Very fair on pricing. We did four IUI's and I think the cost was around $800. This included all scans, preparing the semen and the IUI. Meds were extra.

Dr Kaufman was very kind and caring. He has a great bedside manner and is very calming. My only complaint and I don’t know that it’s even anything against him is that after 2 failed iui’s my options were another iui that he said was unlikely to work since the first two didn’t or IVF but when I asked about the cost of IVF no resources/information was given if we didn’t have access to a way to pay outright for IVF.

Ask anything you want to ask. He will answer any questions you have for as long as you have them.

Dr. Kaufmann put me at ease and explained things clearly. He spent the time needed to answer my questions so that I could make good decisions about my treatment. He listens well and he made adjustments according to my symptoms and questions.

Dr K is upfront and honest. He has a great sense of humor. He is very straight forward and honest but also tries to keep the mood light. He called me and spoke to me both during and after business hours. He made a very difficult time in our lives a lot easier because he shared his own story with us.

Get to know Dr K and his staff. They are wonderful and will made you feel like family.

We had done 3 rounds of clomid with my obgyn. With him we did labs and semen analysis. Then we did clomid with 2 iui’s. Then he did a myomectomy to remove a fibroid. Then we did 1 round of IVF.

For all treatments over 2,5 years our share after insurance was almost 10k

Dr Kaufman treats you with compassion and respect. He makes you feel welcome at each visit. I never had to worry about seeing another doctor or him not answering every question I had. He is an amazing doctor and I can’t wait to go back to him for IVF one day.

Each cycle we used clomid and gonal f with an ovidrel trigger shot. Each cycle resulted in 2-5 follicles but I did not conceive any of the 3 times we tried iui.

$975 fee for IUI, $165 sperm wash and then the cost of your medications. These are all without insurance.

I have not gone through IVF yet, but speaking to Dr Kaufman he seems very comfortable with 2 embryos if that is what you would like to do.

Dr. Kaufmann is very thorough and wants the best for his patients. While I have had many setbacks, he always makes sure that we are doing what is best, even if that means waiting. Right when I went in for my consultation he let me know that he will find out what was going on and would create an action plan. When my results came in that my AMH was low (.55) at the age of 28 I was devastated. When I met with him to go over the results he gave me much comfort and was confident that even with low amh he would be able to help my husband conceive. While o have not been able to get the clear to go on our first IUI due to cysts and an irregular cycle I feel confident that Dr. Kaufmann will help us get our 6 years of waiting miracle.

He was very honest and precise. He went through all the steps necessary to find the best possible treatment that was good for me. He gave us all of our options and was great at every appointment. He was real and down to earth.

He will be honest but yet will give you lots of options that works for you. He will not give up on you!

We started out with basic meds and he was very aggressive with them at the same time. We did have to back off because I was overstimulating. I had my egg retrieval and everything went well. They then proceeded and we were able to freeze 28 embryos. I then waited one month and then began my next stage. My body wasn’t doing what it was supposed to do we revamped my meds and waited another month before I started again. My body was adjusting well and I was able to transfer one embryo. We went through genetic testing as well and we ended up at transfer time having 2 healthy embryos after they were unfrozen.

The costs depended on what you needed.

We ended up doing one embryo because my uterus was in a moon shape.

I loved everything about working with Dr. Kaufmann! He was so compassionate and put us at ease with each step. I loved that he personally called after each beta result (positive and negative) to touch base and make a plan to move forward.

He is upfront about your prognosis. Don’t worry about being sold false promise, if he thinks it’s not in the cards he will absolutely let you know and won’t waste your time and money

we Used clomid for the first IUI-and added injectables after clomid alone yielded poor results.

I do not know an actual number total, but each IUI was around $1,000 plus medications. Our initial testing is the only thing that was covered at all by insurance.

He was very comforting and made me feel at ease. Just very upset over the lack of communication after the treatments were done. I feel like because it didn’t work I was just tossed to the side and he was on to the next patient which makes me very hesitate to go back again.

Be comfortable with asking questions

We did 2 cycles of iui with 50 mg clomid. My eggs were monitored by sonogram throughout the cycles. We uses a trigger shot on both cycles as well to release my eggs. I had 4-5 eggs each cycle

Each iui treatment cost us around $1800-2,300

Dr. Kaufmann was busy. He has a lot of patients. But l rarely had to wait (other than the initial consultation.) He was always the one to do my ultrasounds and did both of my D&C’s. I never felt rushed with him and always felt cared for as a patient. He was our biggest cheerleader and believed that we would have our miracle baby.

He really cares.

Prior to pregnancy I was started on baby aspirin. Once pregnant I began progesterone suppositories, folguard, and lovenox injections. I was monitored very closely, coming into the office every few days for HCG levels and weekly to bi-weekly for ultrasounds, depending on my preference or schedule. Dr. K allowed me to choose what schedule gave me the most peace of mind. When I lost babies he comforted me and was always available for my scheduled D&C surgeries.

Doctor’s visit copay for insurance. We had to pay part of the initial genetic consultation. About $500.

De. Kaufmann was very professional and has a good atmosphere. He expressed his concerns clearly. I would go back to see him again. He is very knowledgeable in the field of fertility. He is prompt in seeing his patients and considerate of time. He also would drive to Abilene to see longer distance patients. Which helped me since I’m from San Angelo.

It’s expensive but I’m sure worth it with being in his care.

Dr. Kaufmann meet with us and explained what was going on. It started with my husband having a low sperm count but assured us the could get a good concentrated amount for the IUI I did shots in the beginning of the cycle with sonos to see how many follicles I had then on day 13 trigger shot next day went in and had the insemination done then proceeded wit progesterone the rest of the cycle. We did not get pregnant but only could afford one cycle at the time. But all went well for what it was.

The cost of my round of IUI was 1300.00 with medication.

In our experience Dr. Kaufmann was a really good physician. He understood us and our difficult situation, and we were informed upfront in the beginning why we were not able to conceive. Every time We came in for an appointment he was always there for us. He was responsible for the beautiful son I have today. I can not think of a single thing I would consider a weakness of Dr. Kaufmann.

I would tell a prospective patient they can put their hopes and dreams in Dr. Kaufmann’s hands and trust him to try his best to make them come true.

Throughout many negatives and two miscarriages Dr Kaufmann has literally held my hand and told me that he will do everything he can to make it work. He is very passionate about his job as a Fertility specialist and it shows.

Once you get past his bluntness you can see he cares for his patients like they were family. He wants to help you in any way he can.

We did 3 IUI cycles with cloned 150 mg for 5 days plus a trigger shot. On the last cycle we used gonal F injections daily. Our first cycle produced a positive HCG, unfortunately it ended in a miscarriage at 6 weeks.

IUI costs: $186 for sperm prep, 140-150 for ultrasound, $35-100 for meds

Dr. Kaufmann was with us every step of they way. He was present at every appointment and was very active during our cycle. There was never a time I questioned his judgement or treatment plan. He celebrates with success and is a support during setbacks. While he is harshly honest at times, it is what you need in my opinion.

Know that hiss words are the truth and while they naybebhard to hear, he will never try to take your money if he knows it won’t work.

Our total for IVF was around 16,000 which included ICSI and medication.

We were encouraged to do a single embryo transfer, but after many set backs, I couldn’t hear another no and elected for a multiple transfer. We were given the warnings and possible effects up front.

Dr. Kaufmann isn't like anything I ever expected from a fertility doctor. The fact that he personally calls you late in the evenings after any failed treatment means the world to me, these aren't always short phone calls either. Although I am still going through this process, I have no doubt that Dr. Kaufmann is who I want to be treating me during this time.

From what I have learned during the last 3 years - Dr. Kaufmann does everything in an appropriate manner for each patient. I've never felt like anything was out of protocol or an abnormal strategy.

Dr. Kaufmann and the staff have never had a strong opinion on 1 vs 2. This has always been our choice.

I often felt like a number when I was being seen. He didn't remember our names either. I often had to remind him of things that were significant and have had several friends say the same about him. He's a kind man with compassion though.

Be sure to always ask questions. No question is a dumb question.

He concluded there was no concrete reason for us not being able to conceive on our own or with our three IUIs. He always called after the results came in and made sure our questions were answered.

Thankfully our insurance covered most of our IUI expenses once our deductible was met.

Dr. K went out of his way to drop medicine off at the clinic when the nurse had given me an empty container. He was very personable and made us feel like we were the only people who mattered. He was the third doc we saw and he listened to everything we’d been through and we moved forward with one semen analysis to confirm we couldn’t do IUI and then we started the IVF process.

Keep on top of your calendar and ask questions if you have them.

I don’t completely remember, but I was on follostim, ganirellix, menopur and I believe my trigger shot was ovidrell.

Dr. K only wanted us to do 1 embryo, but we had already talked before we came to him about wanting to try 2. He let us proceed with transferring 2.

Dr. Kaufman is extremely personable, and made sure we understood what was going on. No appointment was ever rushed, he took all the necessary time to answer all questions, and discuss everything. He and his wife dealt with fertility issues, so I feel like he could relate with all the emotions

He is a straight shooter, who is extremely compassionate.

We tried ovulation injections, along with several unsuccessful cycles of iui. Out next step needs to be IVF

Dr. Kaufman had great bedside manner and was very honest with expectations. He made sure that I understood everything and gave me time to ask questions and voice concerns. He also made sure we understood all options and was not pushy in any way.

Come prepared with questions because he will give you plenty of time to go over all questions and concerns.

Dr Kaufman treated me like an actual person not just a patient. He is funny and he is very caring. When we found out about our first miscarriage I could see the hurt in his eyes for us. His bedside manner is amazing!! He is funny smart caring , everything you could hope for in a dr.

Just be yourself and be honest and open with him.
