This is the most recent data from the CDC. The CDC cautions that it should not be used to compare doctors and clinics. This data represents the outcomes of IVF cycles when using a person's own eggs.
For more information please see our FAQs.
Where you see a “?” on the chart, a clinic has done fewer than 20 cycles in this category and age range, so the CDC says showing percentages from this small data set would be misleading and unreliable.
Dr Udoff was very knowledgeable about the latest research related to IVF and could answer any question about procedures/supplements that I read about. He was very realistic with me and my husband about what to expect, what he could control what he could not and was very open to trying different strategies to combat our specific infertility issue...
We have mostly communicated by email [with the Genetics & IVF Institute nurses]. Very fast response time, very empathetic and knowledgeable...$25950 for a multi cycle IVF (3 tries if under 42), not including pgd testing if needed or medication...It has never been crowded when I get there, so that's a plus! Front desk staff is very pleasant and efficient. Phlebotomist is pleasant and skilled at what she does. Everything from ultrasounds, blood work, genetic counseling is all done at the same site which is great. The clinic runs very smoothly in my opinion.

He was very realistic with me and my husband about what to expect, what he could control what he could not and was very open to trying different strategies to combat our specific infertility issue. I was very pleased with this approach as my previous Doctor was ready to give up.

Describe the protocols Laurence Udoff used in your cycles at Genetics & IVF Institute and their degree of success.
I have done a IUI with Dr. Udoff and am now preparing to do IVF. The IUI was a long time ago and pretty standard. We have discussed the treatment plan for IVF but I have not started yet to give a review on that process.

I talked to Dr. Udoff through video call for my initial consultation and follow-up consultation, he asked about my medical background and told me the specific process and any possible risks. Dr. Udoff is really nice and considerate, he adjusted my medicine dose timely according to my actual situation. He is definitely worth trusting, I fully followed his instruction during my treatment.
My bilingual-speaking nurse Mandy [at GIVF] timely communicated with me according to the physician's treatment plan, she had comprehensive consideration on the treatment schedule, time difference between China and US and got everything ready ahead of time. She was detail-oriented, she emailed and called me to tell all the details in next step, she showed me the video class and also arranged face-to-face class

they treated me like an old friend and gave me a lot of support.
Describe the protocols Laurence Udoff used in your cycles at Genetics & IVF Institute and their degree of success.
For my 1st cycle, I took birth control pill, and injection (menocpur and gonal f) and trigger shot, then egg retrieval, he only retrieved 8 eggs, and no embryo developed to a stage suitable for biopsy and PGS testing.
For my 2nd cycle, I used a patch at first, then injection (menocpur and gonal f) and trigger shot, then egg retrieval, and I did Frozen embryo transfer. He retrieved almost 20 eggs and did PGS testing on 5 embryos and all of them were normal, and he transferred 1 embryo and I am pregnant.

She was detail-oriented, she emailed and called me to tell all the details in next step, she showed me the video class and also arranged face-to-face class on how to do the injection by myself.
Angela arranged my itinerary timely and efficiently, she also gave me a lot of information on restaurant, accommodation and local tours.
Describe your experience with Genetics & IVF Institute.
Strengths: Since I am from China, my English is very limited. GIVF arranged Chinese coordinators to help me book hotel, recommended restaurants and local tour and shops. The medical team in GIVF works very well. In my whole treatment process in GIVF, every time I went for morning monitoring at my scheduled appointment time, I was able to do my blood draw and ultrasound right away, no waiting time. The sonographer concerned about my personal feelings and privacy and paid attention to many details which made me relaxed. I was successful at my 2nd trial through GIVF.
Weaknesses: I wish I could successfully conceive at my 1st trial.

Describe Laurence Udoff's approach to eSET (elective single embryo transfer) vs. multiple embryo transfer at Genetics & IVF Institute.
Udoff explained the benefit of carrying single baby, and I agreed with him.
I trust him [Dr. Udoff], he eases my worry...is able to think from my perspective. He is rigorous, but he also reads my mind and makes clear corresponding explanation on my treatment plan and techniques...My protocol was not complicated, since I have two girls and want a boy, so we chose family balance(gender selection) through IVF plus PGD. I went through stimulation, egg retrieval, genetic screening and embryo transfer without any special treatment or complication, then I was pregnant this May! Since I trust the professionalism of Dr. Udoff, I am confident that he will make me pregnant.
They [nurses at Generics & IVF Institute] are careful and thoughtful, patient and meticulous in answering every question I have. When I need help, especially on the time schedule, they will do their best to coordinate and try to give me the best arrangement...Easy come and easy go...The monitoring was smooth and easy...The clinic is elegantly-decorated, cozy, clean and well-equipped, staffs and friendly, I felt comfortable in every visit, I also received many educational materials on IVF before my treatment. Easy to schedule or adjust appointment time, even if I had urgent question on my injection at night, I was able to reach my primary nurses to solve problems. And I didn't have any issue on billing either.

From the day I chose Dr. Udoff to treat myself, I have fully trusted him and the nurse, I trusted their judgement, I followed their calendar and suggestion, I communicated with them immediately if I had any questions. Only when GIVF and I work as a team will increase my successful rate.
During treatment, were you treated like a number or a human with Laurence Udoff at Genetics & IVF Institute?

Easy come and easy go: I just checked in, wait till my name to be called, done my blood draw and transferred to another waiting area, and then done my ultrasound. The monitoring was smooth and easy.
Describe Laurence Udoff's approach to eSET (elective single embryo transfer) vs. multiple embryo transfer at Genetics & IVF Institute.
He prefers eSET and explained to us the reasons, and we followed his suggestion, I also prefer to carry only one baby at a time.
Dr. Udoff is very considerate of our diagnosis with infertility. He has always explained our options thoroughly and has been honest about our chances of success. I trust his medical guidance when undergoing any treatment.... Husband has azoospermia (0 sperm) which was diagnosed after 2 TESE surgeries by 2 different urologists. Now we are using a directed donor for treatment. For the 3 cycles of IUI: HSG prior to treatment to ensure open tubes. Clomid for 5 days, blood work and ovulation cycle monitoring.
The strengths would definitely be the medical staff [GIVF] (nurses and Dr. Udoff in my case). They are knowledgeable, helpful and flexible. I would say that the weakness lies in the financial advisory department. I understand that they need to provide you with the facts of how the financial "plans" work but the staff isn't the kindest or knowledgeable. There have been times that I've showed up for a cycle monitoring after a failed cycle

During treatment, were you treated like a number or a human with Laurence Udoff at Genetics & IVF Institute?
I felt and still feel like a human under Dr. Udoff's care. I truly believe he cares about our goals to start a family and he answers all of our questions and concerns. He has always provided the information we are seeking to the best of his ability and his bedside manner is great. I feel comfortable and under safe care during all my treatment.

For the 3 cycles of IUI: HSG prior to treatment to ensure open tubes. Clomid for 5 days, blood work and ovulation cycle monitoring. Unfortunately the cycles failed but we were told in advance that the chances of pregnancy were low.
Currently preparing for the 1st IVF cycle which I will undergo an HYS, use an ovulation predictor kit, wear an Estrogen patch, use medications/hormone injections to stimulate egg growth/retrieval. We were told that IVF, while it is way more expensive, will double our chances of success, but is not guaranteed. We are hopeful that this will work.
Describe your experience with your nurse at Genetics & IVF Institute. (Assigned nurse: Valerie Cyrus)
My primary lead nurse is wonderful and kind. She is very thorough in her instructions. She reaches out constantly and has been so compassionate throughout this whole process. The nursing staff at GIVF has been great to work with. The nurse who handles the blood work has been caring and she converses with me so early in the morning I really appreciate that. The nurse who does the sonograms doesn't have the most kindest demeanor but she does care and is gentle so that is also appreciated.

I would say that the weakness lies in the financial advisory department. I understand that they need to provide you with the facts of how the financial "plans" work but the staff isn't the kindest or knowledgeable. There have been times that I've showed up for a cycle monitoring after a failed cycle and the receptionist says that I owe money when we've paid in full already and that is the last thing I want to hear. Everything has to be paid in full at GIVF prior to treatment. There are no payment plans which makes it really difficult.
Describe the costs associated with your care under Laurence Udoff at Genetics & IVF Institute.
I find GIVF to be pretty expensive but I just think that is the norm for fertility clinics and fertility treatment. The stuff that could be done with insurance was but it was just basic doctor visits or tests like the HSG or HYS. Everything else has been out of pocket and paid in full prior to treatment.
Describe Laurence Udoff's approach to eSET (elective single embryo transfer) vs. multiple embryo transfer at Genetics & IVF Institute.
Dr. Udoff thoroughly explained the risks of multiple embryo transfer so he does not recommend doing that if it can be avoided. He feels strongly that the safer route and higher chances of a successful healthy pregnancy will be yielded from a single embryo transfer.
He [Dr. Udoff] explains everything thoroughly and professionally while also being considerate of our emotional and financial situation. He has never given us false hope or higher expectations, which I prefer. I trust him intrinsically and recommend him 100%.... We were both tested for genetic disorders and determined each egg had to be tested using PGD. This round we will be doing an endometrial lining test as well to ensure embryo implantation will be at the most opportune time.
I only have positive things to say. They [Genetics & IVF] are always helpful, quick to help and respond to questions, as well as sweet and caring. Although I would like more flexible monitoring hours in the morning (I'm just not a morning person), they have always been very flexible for me. Not to mention professional.... They worked with my insurance, which covered a certain percentage. The rest we had to pay but GIVF was very helpful to figure options that were affordable.

During treatment, were you treated like a number or a human with Laurence Udoff at Genetics & IVF Institute?
He spoke to me without sugar coating anything. He was realistic but always on the side of thinking positively. He has handled every situation perfectly and professionally.
Describe the protocols Laurence Udoff used in your cycles at Genetics & IVF Institute and their degree of success.
Used hormone injections to stimulate egg growth and had egg retrievals both times. We were both tested for genetic disorders and determined each egg had to be tested using PGD. They put you in for a scheduled time but they are flexible each time knowing things come up or things happen, I.e. traffic. You simply wait as first come first serve at that point. It all goes very smoothly without a long wait.

Describe Laurence Udoff's approach to eSET (elective single embryo transfer) vs. multiple embryo transfer at Genetics & IVF Institute.
He prefer eSET to ensure there is little to no danger to the mother and the potential embryo. I believe he is willing to discuss multiple embryo transfer if there is a limited health risk.
Dr. Lincoln was quite welcoming and informative, although I did occasionally feel like he was slightly impatient to hand me off to the rest of the clinic staff. But in general, I felt very comfortable with him and trusted him to make wise choices with my course of treatment...The nursing staff was exceptional - truly exceptional. I felt incredibly supported throughout the process, including with the emotional ups and downs of the procedure. The staff was knowledgeable, kind, warm and efficient. They were also excellent at communicating next steps throughout the process.

I would have appreciated seeing a single doctor throughout - as opposed to have a different doctor doing the egg retrieval - but I recognize that timing is unpredictable and there's really no way to assure that.

Don't hesitate to ask any and all questions you'd like - and don't feel like you ever need to stop asking!

Dr. Lincoln was thoughtful and detailed in explaining options and procedures, but I did occasionally feel as if I was being rushed to wrap up my time with him.

I must admit I don't remember many of the specifics related to drug choices and dosages, unfortunately. I do remember that my egg retrieval wasn't particularly successful (eggs were retrieved, but they were quite low in number), but I was adequately prepared for the unpredictability of the results.

I believe the costs included about $4,000 in medication and $9,000 in additional fees. This was all out of pocket, given that this was an elective procedure and not covered by my insurance.
Dr. Sarhan has a great bedside manner, serious when she needs to be, celebratory when things go right...tries to be in every appointment she can be. We never felt like just a number...FET-IVF cycle with ICSI...always very thorough in explaining next steps, how to administer the medication, and helped prep us for everything...natural transfer
[Genetics & IVF Institute] has a wonderful staff. Everyone was so kind...front desk staff knew me by name by my second visit. Everyone takes their time and really chats with you, answers all your questions, etc. I have no negative feedback
How was your experience with Abbaa Sarhan at Genetics & IVF Institute?
Dr. Sarhan has a great bedside manner, serious when she needs to be, celebratory when things go right, and she tries to be in every appointment she can be. We never felt like just a number! We did have Dr. Udoff instead of Dr. Sarhan on retrieval day, but that experience was great, too. They do a great job prepping you on what to expect.
What's one piece of advice would you give a prospective patient of Abbaa Sarhan at Genetics & IVF Institute?
Don't be afraid to ask all the questions - they've heard it all before!
During treatment, were you treated like a number or a human with Abbaa Sarhan at Genetics & IVF Institute?

Thankfully I have insurance coverage that assisted with almost all costs. They do offer packages for those without insurance.
Dr. Sarhan has the best bedside manner. She always took time to speak with me and answer all of my questions. I never felt rushed. She was fully present during my appointments and consultations. And she was especially great at explaining things (procedures, approaches, recommendations, etc.)...I have an extremely diminished ovarian reserve (among other complicating factors) so Dr. Sarhan recommended I not wait and take an aggressive approach - specifically IVF
The [Genetics & IVF Institute] nurse that I worked with the most was great - very professional and kind. I also liked the other nurses I came across in the office...The clinic was very nice, clean and orderly. Scheduling was smooth - I was able to find times that worked with my schedule although on occasion I had to be flexible. Monitoring appointments were in the morning and were timely. I am so thankful that Dr. Sarhan was my doctor through this process. She was a highlight during all of the ups and downs. She is so knowledgeable, thorough, compassionate, empathetic, and professional. She was great at communicating. Her explanations were clear and she answered all of my questions. I felt that she was truly vested in my treatment and outcomes. I always felt she was fully present during my appointments and when calling with results. I never felt uncomfortable. I only wish that I could see Dr. Sarhan for all of my other medical needs.
What's one piece of advice would you give a prospective patient of Abbaa Sarhan at Genetics & IVF Institute?
I think this advice is for anyone going through the fertility process: be prepared with your questions and really listen to what the doctor says (instead of what the internet says).

Dr Udoff was a good listener but his bedside manner was a bit cold. I do like that he was very direct and gave detailed explanations of treatments, diagnosis, etc. I did not like that he followed protocols without any room for analyzing whether it was necessary. For example, he insisted I get a mammogram before my second transfer even though I had only just finished nursing twins and the results of the mammogram would be unreliable.
There wasn't a lot of personal care [at Genetics & IVF Institute] but I felt they were very efficient and I never had to wait for long periods of time for my appointments... Overly expensive. It cost $2000 more than some other nearby clinics for the FET...The nurses were very helpful but getting in touch was sometimes challenging...He [Dr. Laurence Udoff] was a good listener and spent time to really understand my history. My doctor let me decide. I did a double embryo transfer and I got pregnant with twins on my first try. I was overjoyed with this outcome and I appreciated the doctor respecting my right to choose.
Dr Udoff is friendly and gets right to the point. He explains everything thoroughly and addressed my concerns and willingness to try a different protocol. I appreciated his willingness to help me achieve my dream of being a mom...is willing to try different options. He addressed my concerns about wanting to try something different from the last cycle with another clinic...475iu follistim, 25 menopur, instead of BC I primed with estrogen patch
I think that she [nurse at Genetics & IVF Institute] could better communicate. It's a little hard to understand her. However, when I asked questions, she did get the answers for me. I wish she would call instead of emailing me...The clinic is in an older building with dated decor but i dont mind all that much. Don't expect someone to hold your hand or make eye contact. He is a bit rough during transfers and it can be painful. He is probably talented, but just sharp edged.
There was a miscalculation of dates which led to a cancellation of a cycle and the wrong medication amounts used. Also had troubles getting the right call to the pharmacy for medication.
How was your experience with Laurence Udoff at Genetics & IVF Institute?
For the first transfer, I was so well cared for by the nurses that I didn't mind so much that he was so cold. However during retrieval he had lots of issues with the transfer and wasn't very kind about it. I had had five previous transfers, so I was pretty well acquainted with the process and knew it was going poorly(and painful!). He did not acknowledge this at all nor explain anything while he was working. However, he also did my fourth transfer which did result in a successful second pregnancy.

Describe the specific things that went wrong at Genetics & IVF Institute.
There was a miscalculation of dates which led to a cancellation of a cycle and the wrong medication amounts used. Also had troubles getting the right call to the pharmacy for medication. On several occasions (after Ashley had left) they mucked up responses and information.
He [Dr. Laurence Udoff] explained very carefully my case, the expectations of finding a good egg due to my age (44 at the time) and was honest in his approach...he is very strong in genetic implications of age related infertility, he is honest and open. He was encouraging without over promising. He is a balanced professional and has significant experience, I would have liked to be told about CQ10 and DHEA before the treatment and not after it didnt work, but outside of that, i dont have any complaints.

Describe the protocols Laurence Udoff used in your cycles at Genetics & IVF Institute and their degree of success.
I was on max doses of hormone injections for the IVF process because my AFC was lower than expected for my age. I had 8-10 follicles measured through monitoring, but Dr. Udoff retrieved twice as many eggs! For the embryo, I was put on a modified natural protocol because I do not have any issues with ovulation or cycle regularity.
Describe your experience with the nursing staff at Genetics & IVF Institute.
Very welcoming and everyone made you feel like family. The staff all remembered my name when I came in and remembered personal things about me that they would follow-up on which was so kind.

Describe Laurence Udoff's approach to eSET (elective single embryo transfer) vs. multiple embryo transfer at Genetics & IVF Institute.
For my age, Dr. Udoff was very clear that he would not transfer more than one embryo because we did genetic testing, so the success rates were much higher.
Dr. Sarhan guided my husband and I through this journey. She made us feel heard and understood, she made sure that we were given all the facts and options, and she made us feel at ease every step of the way. She is a knowledgeable, kind, compassionate, wonderful doctor with the best bedside manner. She even communicated with me after work hours to answer my questions, ease my fears, and make sure that I was OK
I completed 3 rounds of IUI with Dr. Sarhan [at Genetics & IVF Institute] . She also had me on fertility drugs because she said that would increase the chance of pregnancy. She consulted with us more than once before getting started, explained everything as she did it, and walked us through every procedure, and told us what would happen in the aftermath. The clinic was excellent and Dr. Sarhan was excellent. I would go back to Dr. Sarhan in a heartbeat. I wouldn’t have gotten through my infertility issues without her expertise and help. She was professional, kind, and knowledgeable.
She steered me toward single transfer, which I am glad about now that I have a baby to care for, but was supportive of it being my decision...Dr. Sarhan was compassionate, knowledgeable, and encouraging but realistic. She took the time to clarify my many questions and concerns throughout the process. She has the right mix of being experienced but also early enough in her career to be aware of the latest methods.
I think this [Genetics & IVF Institute] clinic is headed in a good direction with the addition of Dr. Sarhan to the team. he [Dr. Udoff] was very competent and matter of fact when we met with him. but also took the time to answer our questions along the way. most of our interactions outside of tele-consults and the actual transfer of embryos were with his staff...BCP, estrace, lupron, progestrone in oil, transfer. progesterone in oil continued until 10 weeks...he would only consider 1 [eset] b/c he stated there were clear guidelines and i didn't qualify to have more than 1
Sarah [nurse at Genetics & IVF Institute] always tried to be available to answer questions / provide next steps while in the middle of a cycle. including late evening calls to the pharmacy to help straighten out med delays and with insurance to make sure my donor's services / meds were covered....Clinical and front desk staff were great. in all of my visits i could usually be in and out within 15-20 minutes even with a sonogram.

BCP, estrace, lupron, progestrone in oil, transfer. progesterone in oil continued until 10 weeks. second transfer we tried to shortcut the lupron and had to back track and find a different med to quiet my ovaries. 3rd transfer back to same protocol as first transfer. currently 14 weeks pregnant with 3rd transfer.

Describe your experience with Genetics & IVF Institute.
Generally a very caring clinic with great staff. I was fortunate enough to have great insurance that covers things like my donor's retrieval and almost all steps in my transfer and meds. This was complicated at times for the staff, but ultimately they worked through it with us. Clinical and front desk staff were great. in all of my visits i could usually be in and out within 15-20 minutes even with a sonogram.

From the start with the consultation appointments, she [Dr. Sarhan] was knowledgeable, kind, compassionate and determined for my husband and I. She always made sure we knew exactly what was going on and explained everything thoroughly. After trying to conceive for more than 2 years, IVF was our best option according to Dr. Sarhan...She had a strong preference that we only transfer one embryo...
my first nurse there [at Genetics & IVF Institute] was not that compassionate and kind and would never respond to any of my emails and I always felt like I was harassing by calling the clinic to get answers. I was then referred to a new nurse named Missy and She is absolutely amazing and so sweet and when she found out I was pregnant she send the most amazing email that made me cry I really felt like I was cared for...

Dr. Abba Sarhan is absolutely an amazing doctor. From the start with the consultation appointments, she was knowledgeable, kind, compassionate and determined for my husband and I. She always made sure we knew exactly what was going on and explained everything thoroughly. After trying to conceive for more than 2 years, IVF was our best option according to Dr. Sarhan, so we decided to jump right in. I felt confident. I can proudly say that from the first cycle of IVF, I am pregnant and currently almost 9 weeks. I highly recommend Dr. Abba Sarhan. She’s hard working and intelligent, and doesn’t just treat you like a number. I felt cared for genuinely. Thank you so so much for everything! I can’t thank you enough, Dr. Sarhan

Definitely ask all the questions that you may have. Infertility is difficult and can be very confusing. This office definitely had the strength of answering all the questions in depth until you truly understand.
Describe the costs associated with your care under Abbaa Sarhan at Genetics & IVF Institute.
I had really good insurance through the government and I’m thankful for that so I didn’t pay as much as other people may have paid but it was still a significant amount. I prefer not to say
Describe Abbaa Sarhan's approach to eSET (elective single embryo transfer) vs. multiple embryo transfer at Genetics & IVF Institute.
She had a strong preference that we only transfer one embryo at a time because of my age. At first I was hesitant and upset but I know she had the best intension for us
Dr. Sarhan seemed very well acquainted with the details of my case each time I communicated with her...we were ready to move on to frozen donor eggs; Dr. Sarhan provided knowledgeable and compassionate treatment, and the fact that the clinic and egg bank are under one roof made for a streamlined and convenient process...
it can be difficult to communicate with the front desk [at Genetics & IVF Institute]; the phones often ring without being answered...Our communication difficulties with the nursing department disappeared once we had begun treatment, so it may be that the practice is concentrating its energies on communication with active clients; however, this makes for a poor first impression of the clinic’s organization, and makes it a bit challenging to get the treatment ball rolling.
How was your experience with Abbaa Sarhan at Genetics & IVF Institute?
We had a very good experience with Dr. Sarhan, GIVF, and the Fairfax Egg Bank. My husband and I were experienced with IVF and knew that we were ready to move on to frozen donor eggs; Dr. Sarhan provided knowledgeable and compassionate treatment, and the fact that the clinic and egg bank are under one roof made for a streamlined and convenient process.

Describe your experience with your nurse at Genetics & IVF Institute. (Assigned nurse: Laurel Patton)
I had to ask to be switched to another nurse when my first assigned nurse communicated poorly and seemed unfamiliar with my case on multiple occasions. Laurel, to whom I was transferred, was wonderful — very caring and and excellent communicator.
Describe your experience with Genetics & IVF Institute.
From our point of view, the fact that we could handle all aspects of choosing an egg donor and completing the IVF process under one roof was very convenient. Our doctor was extremely knowledgeable and kind, as well, and the nursing team was very supportive once we had begun treatment.
Describe the costs associated with your care under Abbaa Sarhan at Genetics & IVF Institute.
The total cost for our treatment (IVF with frozen donor eggs) came to about $8,000. The cost of the eggs themselves (through the in-house egg bank) was $13,000.
Describe Abbaa Sarhan's approach to eSET (elective single embryo transfer) vs. multiple embryo transfer at Genetics & IVF Institute.
Dr. Sarhan (and the clinic) will not transfer more than one embryo at a time — at least in my case — and that is exactly as we wanted it; we wouldn’t have wanted to face the additional risks associated with multiple pregnancy.

Describe the specific things that went wrong at Genetics & IVF Institute.
As I mentioned above, my first assigned nurse (Sarah Crumbley) was difficult to communicate with and was unfamiliar with my case. This resulted in it taking longer for us to begin our treatment cycle than was necessary. Also, it can be difficult to communicate with the front desk; the phones often ring without being answered or it can take longer than one would expect for a professional practice for phone messages to be returned. Our communication difficulties with the nursing department disappeared once we had begun treatment, so it may be that the practice is concentrating its energies on communication with active clients; however, this makes for a poor first impression of the clinic’s organization, and makes it a bit challenging to get the treatment ball rolling.
Dr. Sarhan was very warm and compassionate and laid out a plan for treatment. She was clear in her communication and I was confident I could reach out to her with any other questions. After the initial consult, however, all communication was via my nurse and I didn't have a direct line to Dr. Sarhan...Dr. Sarhan advised to do three rounds of timed intercourse with Letrozole followed by three rounds of IUI. We agreed to discuss IVF later if needed. The first IUI was successful and resulted in a singleton pregnancy.
Every person I interacted with at GIVF was very kind, however there was very little consistency with who I saw for monitoring or ultrasounds. My interactions with Dr. Sarhan were always very warm, though after the initial consult, communications went via my nurse...The billing/invoicing was all paper/mailed with no online payment option. The costs were opaque and could have included more detail than the mailed paper invoice.

How was your experience with Abbaa Sarhan at Genetics & IVF Institute?
Dr. Sarhan is detailed oriented, pays attention to all the data available to her, and makes recommendations that sound very reasonable and grounded. I ended up as a patient of hers when I ran out of insurance benefits through my husband's employer and had to use mine at a different practice. That's when I was blessed to meet Dr. Sarhan. Although the treatment she outlined for me was a bit longer than what I had initially anticipated, it made sense when she explained to me and I realized that she had taken the time to understand all my infertility history. She leveraged all the information that was unearthed during my prior treatments and was able to help me get pregnant. I also was very grateful that Dr. Sarhan listened to my concerns and requests and allowed me to get 2 embryos transferred instead of one. She explained all the risks associated but it the end, it worked out. As a side note, I was a bit nervous about Dr. Sarhan performing my embryo transfer (I had only had embryo transfers at a previous practice and had read that skill was key on this piece), but she did a wonderful, careful and meticulous job and today I am happy to report that I am finally pregnant!!
What's one piece of advice would you give a prospective patient of Abbaa Sarhan at Genetics & IVF Institute?
Try to communicate directly with her and not through the nurses.
During treatment, were you treated like a number or a human with Abbaa Sarhan at Genetics & IVF Institute?
Dr. Sarhan took time to review a long file with data worth 18 months+, and contacted me whenever she had questions or wanted to provide me with additional context and understanding. The fact that she took her time to digest all my data AND to come up with a carefully elaborated plan to help me get pregnant, meant the world to me.
Describe your experience with Genetics & IVF Institute.
The clinic runs like an well oiled machine. I am so grateful for the receptionists, the sonographer, the phlebotomist, and specially the Embryology folks (Michael and his team). There is one nurse also that is really amazing but I didn't get to work with her. I think her name is Wendy or Heidi.

I just came to review Dr. Sarhan and this has turned into the longest survey ever.
Dr Udoff is kind, very knowledgeable, compassionate and treated me like he did every patient, equally and with respect. He was always straightforward in his diagnosis and the pathway that I would be on. He never sugar coated anything, he explained the risks and answered all of my many questions...[he] did the eSET rather than multiple embryo transfer due to my condition
Strengths [of Genetics & IVF Institute] : Treats everyone the same, always on time, people friendly, professional, clean and pristine space(office, waiting room, exact room and recovery rooms). Nice aquarium and a great tranquil type of ambience. Weakness: None that I experienced...The nursing staff that I had the pleasure of seeing during my time there were great, always helpful and kept your spirits high even when a needle is in your arm.

During treatment, were you treated like a number or a human with Laurence Udoff at Genetics & IVF Institute?
The nurse knew my name and face. They knew I was a travel patient and they did their best to assist me while I was under their care. Dr Udoff treated me well, not like a statistic but a person trying to have children. My race, income level or where I was from did not matter to him and that was great.

My assigned nurse was below par in the beginning and I did communicate to her that I was not happy with her service. She promptly corrected the issue and smooth sailing from there. It was not cheap must it was fair
Describe Laurence Udoff's approach to eSET (elective single embryo transfer) vs. multiple embryo transfer at Genetics & IVF Institute.
Dr Udoff did the eSET rather than multiple embryo transfer due to my condition. Even though I waned multiple embryos so I can go through pregnancy once, he was wise and directed eSET as the safest and most productive route to a successful pregnancy
