This is the most recent data from the CDC. The CDC cautions that it should not be used to compare doctors and clinics. This data represents the outcomes of IVF cycles when using a person's own eggs.
For more information please see our FAQs.
Where you see a “?” on the chart, a clinic has done fewer than 20 cycles in this category and age range, so the CDC says showing percentages from this small data set would be misleading and unreliable.
[Dr. Patrick Blohm] is straight to the point...Tone seems harsh...Sometimes he seems agitated...bedside manner is not there sometimes...350 units of gonal-f for 4 days then it dropped to 300 for 5 days, 5 units of Lupron each day and 1 vial of menopur 9 days...5,000 units of HCG before egg retrieval...protocol didn’t change for the second cycle.
[at Georgia Center for Reproductive Medicine] Everyone knows what they are doing...call you with updates and they make sure you have every thing you needed....was no weakness. No long wait unless the doctor has an emergency...nursing staff is amazing...With my age he recommended transferring two each cycle
How was your experience with Patrick Blohm at Georgia Center for Reproductive Medicine?
He is straight to the point. Tone seems harsh. Sometimes he seems agitated. The bedside manner is not there sometimes. You better have thick skin. He does have a lot of patients because he is the only doctor here in Savannah. He prefers to work with younger patients and he makes that very clear the way he talks to you if you are older. He does not like to work with older patients because it makes him look bad when you don’t get pregnant. As a patient I would have loved to see the embryo on the screen or monitor as they are changing. My husband was not allowed in the room with me. He does not like to hear what another doctor said it is his way and only his way.
What's one piece of advice would you give a prospective patient of Patrick Blohm at Georgia Center for Reproductive Medicine?
If you are older and want to use your own eggs he is not the doctor to see.
During treatment, were you treated like a number or a human with Patrick Blohm at Georgia Center for Reproductive Medicine?
I don’t think he tried hard enough. He gave up after 2 cycles.
Describe the protocols Patrick Blohm used in your cycles at Georgia Center for Reproductive Medicine and their degree of success.
I was put on birth control pills on day 2 of my cycle for 2 weeks and then I had an ultrasound to check everything out. I was then put on 350 units of gonal-f for 4 days then it dropped to 300 for 5 days, 5 units of Lupron each day and 1 vial of menopur 9 days. I had my ultrasound appointments every other day. I took 5,000 units of HCG before egg retrieval. Then I waited the week before the ones that made it to blasts be put back. My protocol didn’t change for the second cycle.
Describe your experience with the nursing staff at Georgia Center for Reproductive Medicine.
The nursing staff is amazing.
Describe your experience with Georgia Center for Reproductive Medicine.
Everyone knows what they are doing. They call you with updates and they make sure you have every thing you needed. I was very pleased with the staff. There was no weakness. No long wait unless the doctor has an emergency but I wouldn’t say the wait was longer than about 30-45 minutes. I didn’t have a problem with that.
Describe the costs associated with your care under Patrick Blohm at Georgia Center for Reproductive Medicine.
The cost was reasonable. I didn’t spend 30,000 for my two cycles.
Describe Patrick Blohm's approach to eSET (elective single embryo transfer) vs. multiple embryo transfer at Georgia Center for Reproductive Medicine.
With my age he recommended transferring two each cycle I did not have a problem with it.
Dr. Blohm see’s you himself EVERY single visit. He does all your ultrasounds and assigns how much medicine you take every visit...He has 6 month wait lists so although he’s straight forward and doesn’t hold your hand and listen to your story he is 100% invested in you and going to do the correct treatment you need...He is not into (miracle pills and natural supplements) he is into medicine and what gets you pregnant
This clinic [at Georgia Center for Reproductive Medicine] is very busy but it’s because they get results. The equipment isn’t updated but that’s bc Dr. Blohm knows what he’s doing and doesn’t need fancy technology to get him there. He’s old school and does it himself. To me experience is better than a computer guessing....VERY reasonably priced. He will try to use your insurance for blood work. He won’t run extra test that aren’t needed

During treatment, were you treated like a number or a human with Patrick Blohm at Georgia Center for Reproductive Medicine?
Dr. Blohm was very straight forward and after years of infertility that’s what I needed. I wanted l facts and someone who went straight to the point. He told me what I needed and what I needed to do and I would be pregnant within 6 months. I left pregnant after my first cycle after 3 years of chlomid and letrozole.
Describe the protocols Patrick Blohm used in your cycles at Georgia Center for Reproductive Medicine and their degree of success.
I had multiple failed rounds of chlomid and letrozole with my ObGyn. So Dr. Blohm didn’t waste any time with that. He went straight to gonal f injections. Then we did a double iui. It was successful first try.

Describe Patrick Blohm's approach to eSET (elective single embryo transfer) vs. multiple embryo transfer at Georgia Center for Reproductive Medicine.
Dr. Blohm let me do an IUI with 3 eggs bc I was 30. He really studies what is best for you. With my history he felt I would be ok and the risk to having all 3 was low.
What I wish was doctor Blohm to take into consideration my first miscarriage at 10 weeks and monitor me closely after the second transfer, which resulted in a missed miscarriage at 10 weeks again. Maybe change the treatment plan and the POI. We will discuss that further as I had not have the follow up consultation yet after the 2nd miscarriage.
The location [Georgia Center for Reproductive Medicine] is convenient, it is clean and nice. I wish the technology was more advanced, the ultrasounds were very outdated. I wish they were giving a picture of the embryo but they don't have that. Also they don't let the partner to be there during transfer. ... How was your experience with Patrick Blohm at Georgia Center for Reproductive Medicine?
I know that the success rate for doctor Blohm is very high, so I don't regret my choice. He explained all the procedures and was very professional during treatment, retrieval and transfer. Both IVFs were successful but the pregnancies were not.

Trust his knowledge and experience.
During treatment, were you treated like a number or a human with Patrick Blohm at Georgia Center for Reproductive Medicine?
It is a business for the doctor and they only benefit from the successful ones. Also the doctor is very busy as he is the one doing all the ultrasounds, retrievals and transfers, so no time to hold your hand. But I was prepared for that when choosing him for my doctor, so he met the expectations.
Describe the protocols Patrick Blohm used in your cycles at Georgia Center for Reproductive Medicine and their degree of success.
June Retrieval - start date 05/31/2019 - retrieval date 06/9/2019
I started with Lupron 5units in the morning

Menopur - 1 vial - 5 days

Describe the costs associated with your care under Patrick Blohm at Georgia Center for Reproductive Medicine.
I had a fertility insurance trough my employer - $20,000 lifetime maximum. It is a high deductible plan so I had to pay $6500, before the plans start to cover the treatments, after that I have not paid for anything. The deductible of $6500 that I paid covered the medications. I have around $2000 left for a fertility treatment, so for the two IVFs the plan paid $18,000.00.

How was your experience with Patrick Blohm at Georgia Center for Reproductive Medicine?
Many women do not like Dr. Blohm because he is very blunt and to the point. However, I greatly appreciated this about him. Also, you don't see a PA or a NP whenever you go...you see Dr. Blohm every single visit, which is unheard of. Dr. Blohm is extremely knowledgeable and has been in practice for many years and has seen it all. He doesn't give you false hope. I have had a successful pregnancy and a perfect little girl from my first transfer, and a miscarriage with my second transfer. When he delivered the news to me that I had miscarried, I could see the compassion in his face and I knew it was just as hard for him to tell me as it was for me to hear it. I have zero negative things to say about him. Even if I did not get pregnant either time, I would still know that I was at the right clinic with the right physician.
What's one piece of advice would you give a prospective patient of Patrick Blohm at Georgia Center for Reproductive Medicine?
Understand that even though he is blunt and to the point, he does care and he is compassionate. He has a different way of showing it. He doesn't give false hope, so you may not get the "positive" doctor you are looking for. He is a realist. He sees every patient at every visit, so he is very busy and on a time schedule, but he is very thorough.
During treatment, were you treated like a number or a human with Patrick Blohm at Georgia Center for Reproductive Medicine?
Dr. Blohm tells you what you need to hear, not what you want to hear. He always looked me in my eyes and told me the facts. Dr Blohm is a very honest doctor. While he does not sugar coat anything, I appreciate his honest opinion. He is always very professional and prompt. He always showed sympathy during our times of loss or failed treatment, but then prepared us for the next course of action... went to the office for IUI two days in a row. I then took a booster pregnyl shot a week later...We did this procedure three times...Between rounds 2 and 3 I had and HSG which showed both of my tubes were clear.
Dr Blohm [at Georgia Center for Reproductive Medicine] tried to work with us and performed all surgeries at the hospital I work at instead of the one his office is at to help with cost...Everyone in this clinic knows how important all these procedures are and definitely respond rapidly with all results or to answer any questions. The office is very high volume, yet we have never had to wait for long periods or had any scheduling issues. Some of the team can be a bit abrasive because they deal with this sensitive topic daily. But I have felt welcomed and comforted by the team for the most part.

Describe the protocols Patrick Blohm used in your cycles at Georgia Center for Reproductive Medicine and their degree of success.
I did follistim injections everyday for about two weeks, monitoring my follicles via ultrasound every 2-3 days. Once they reached 18+ I took pregnyl trigger shot to release them. I then went to the office for IUI two days in a row. I then took a booster pregnyl shot a week later. Then waited another week to test. We did this procedure three times. First one resulted in a chemical pregnancy and I had to get a methotrexate shot to cause a miscarriage because I didn’t miscarry on my own. The second round resulted in a ectopic pregnancy which had to be removed with surgery, but he was able to save my tube. The third round failed completely. I had too many follicles this round and had to have some of them aspirated, yet it still did not work. Between rounds 2 and 3 I had and HSG which showed both of my tubes were clear. We are now encouraged to do ivf but can not afford it.

(All prices are round about estimates). Each ultrasound was $125. Lab work was $75. Medications for each iui were $1500. Dr Blohm tried to work with us and performed all surgeries at the hospital I work at instead of the one his office is at to help with cost.
He [Dr. Patrick Blunt] is blunt, but he has great outcomes...The round was unsuccessful and now we have upped my Clomid dosage to 100mg and are repeating the same process...He takes his time with you and explains procedures. He does speak a little faster than some doctors and is very blunt. He is not one to hold your hand which is fine with me...Started with one IUI due to Male Factor Infertility, (I also have some insulin resistance which I am on Metformin for).
The nursing staff at Dr.Blohm's office [Georgia Center for Reproductive Medicine] are awesome. They are kind and compassionate. They will answer any questions that you may have...The office is very clean. When you call you are directly put through to a person not an automated answering service. I have seen Dr.Blohm at every procedure that I have had done including my HSG. The only weaknesses that I would say is that Dr.Blohm can be a little blunt, but you know this about him going up front.
How was your experience with Patrick Blohm at Georgia Center for Reproductive Medicine?
Everyone in the clinic is great and caring. They do not take on more patients than they can handle at a time and truly care about the questions that you ask. When you call you, a person answers the line automatically. There is not automated system that you have to be annoyed with which speaks volumes in my back.
What's one piece of advice would you give a prospective patient of Patrick Blohm at Georgia Center for Reproductive Medicine?
He is blunt, but he has great outcomes. Be fully prepared when you go to a consultation with him (take charts, Semen Analysis) know when the last day of your period of was, and how long your cycle is. These are things that will help your consultation run smoothly.

Started with one IUI due to Male Factor Infertility, (I also have some insulin resistance which I am on Metformin for). Dr Blohm is blunt and doesn't sugarcoat anything. He says things that are hard to hear. However there is no doubt that he is an expert at his process and he expects you to follow his directions. Dr Blohm is blunt and doesn't sugarcoat anything. He says things that are hard to hear. However there is no doubt that he is an expert at his process and he expects you to follow his directions. He monitors your hormones like a hawk and tweaks your shots as needed. There are no days off for Dr. Blohm and because of that I made it a point to do whatever he told me to do to a T. If he said I need to do a shot at 7pm, I did it at 7pm on the dot... not 7:10, not 6:45. He asks questions and expects answers quickly... Almost like a demanding professor or boss. He doesn't exude compassion but I think deep down he is. He has a dry personality. I did one cycle, barely had any eggs, made two healthy embryos, implanted both and got my beautiful son. One of the last times I went into the office was when I had already learned I was pregnant from blood work but was getting an ultrasound to confirm. When Dr Blohm entered the room, I said "Hi Five! You did it!" And he said... Let's not celebrate yet... A few minutes later my pregnancy was confirmed with a heart beat. And he did high five me as he walked out of the office and also said something to the effect of, "we were very lucky. Our odds weren't good." It was all matter of fact and that's how it was throughout the process. I will never forget Dr Blohm and am so thankful for him. He changed the course of my life in the most profound way when he gave me the chance of being a mother.
What's one piece of advice would you give a prospective patient of Patrick Blohm at Georgia Center for Reproductive Medicine?

I was always able to get in touch with someone and nurses returned voicemails quicker than any Dr I've ever been to. Just know that the process is hard but it's only a few weeks, months at most. In the scheme of things it's a blip.
Describe the costs associated with your care under Patrick Blohm at Georgia Center for Reproductive Medicine.
This is from 2018 pricing. If I recall correctly it was around 7500 for one ivf cycle including all meds and treatments. Also included 700 cryo in that price. I would up getting that refunded bc I had no embryos to freeze but I also had to pay for ICSI before embryo transfer which I believe was another cost around 1000 but not certain. I paid for some other labs. My insurance didn't cover fertility so everything was out of pocket. I also did IUI right before IVF but don't recall pricing.
Describe Patrick Blohm's approach to eSET (elective single embryo transfer) vs. multiple embryo transfer at Georgia Center for Reproductive Medicine.
He normally implants 2 unless you specifically ask to do 1 transfer.
Dr. Blohm is a very straight to the point reproductive endocrinologist. Which I love he leaves nothing to your imagination. He always ensures that every detail of what he is going to do during a procedure is thuroughly explained using whatever means neccesary And is always willing without hesitation to take extra time to answer any extra questions. After every procedure I am always given pictures of exactly what inside my body he was looking at or had removed.

How was your experience with Patrick Blohm at Georgia Center for Reproductive Medicine?
Dr. Blohm has thus far provided a wonderful experience throughout our IVF journey. I came into him in November 2017 desperate to create a family with my husband. Both being service members and having had recently returned from Iraq we were eager to get started. Dr. Blohm took the time to go over my medical history with fertility, I had undergone an HSG, blood work and an ultrasound at my local military hospital. I let him know up front I was diagnosed with a bicornurate uterus and explained to him that I have an issue with reacurring miscarriages, without skipping a beat he didn’t even looks at the information I brought from previous doctors and said they are wrong and took me right off to get an ultrasound. Sure enough all these years I have had a full septate uterus and septate cervix. I have had multiple abdominal surgeries and none of them could diagnose me properly, it took him just listening to me to figure out my issue. I also explained I have extreme menstrual pain and previous surgeons noted that I have scar tissue fusing my organs together. He was disgusted that any doctor would leave me this way and not repair me. We got word that we were yet again deploying and we let him know so that he could be informed of our time crunch, he had me in surgery 2 days later, fit me in with an already full day of surgery for him just so I could be taken care of promptly given our situation without skipping a beat. He performed a hysteroscopy to remove the septate and did and endoscopy to check on everything out he feared others may have missed. At my post operative appointment he showed me images of the removed septate and then all my questions of my bodily pain had been answered, I was suffering from stage 3 endodemetriosis, I had pelvic adhesive disease caused by it and a polyp. He removed all of it in exception of the endodemetriosis that encompasses 40% of my ovaries because we plan on using my eggs when we make it to transfer. He always wait two full menstual cycles between these surgeries and IVF start date we would have began in February but when we went back for an HSG in January he found a tiny nun of septum left and recommended he remove it. But ultimately he left all these decisions to us, which I loved that he was always very honest about his opinion and why he would do something a certain way but ultimately give us the end decision making. I just received my new batch of injectibles for our upcoming IVF cycle, we start injections in April and we are thrilled. I will be moving out of state after this pregnancy and when we decide to have another I will travel states just to continue care with Dr. Blohm. I have never met another doctor who cared for his patients success and happiness then him.
What's one piece of advice would you give a prospective patient of Patrick Blohm at Georgia Center for Reproductive Medicine?
One piece of advice I would give someone is take his advice and be open minded he is an extremely intelligent man and he is very blunt about the facts but know that he is an excellent doctor and will take care of you.

He does not rush you as a patient even though hundreds of couples walk through his door each day and he pushes for each person. My husband and myself are service members, getting through an IVF cycle can be very difficult with us both being deplorable at any time. Dr. Blohm has advocated for us and helped us to get where we currently are in treatment always ensuring what will give us the results we all want but making us a priority.
Describe the protocols Patrick Blohm used in your cycles at Georgia Center for Reproductive Medicine and their degree of success.
Due to our surgical setbacks I will just be starting this round of injectibles next month. However my clinic was kind enough to order our meds early and through a different pharmacy then they usually use to try and see if they can get the price for their military clientele down. I will be using what they referred to as the long Lupron protocol. I will be using BCP which I start this morning, a 2 week Lupron kit, doxycycline, progesterone in oil, HCG trigger, menopur 10 vials and gonal F 5 vials. He expects to see good results with me as he estimated that my egg reserve was well stocked.
Describe your experience with the nursing staff at Georgia Center for Reproductive Medicine.
The nursing staff is always friendly and happy to see you. With all the patients they have they always remember us by name even if just passing us in the hospital. They are informative and truly fight for their patients. They are always doing everything they can to make this a comfortable process. The lovely women who coordinates all the calendar events is never hesitant to call and give you answers to any question you may have. Describe the costs associated with your care under Patrick Blohm at Georgia Center for Reproductive Medicine.
Dr blohm for our procedure costs include $7500 for the overall process, includes labs, ultrasound, retrieval, transfer. Since we need ICSI it’s an additional $1000. He intimates his patients for $3500 in meds however with their efforts they found me a pharmacy that got my meds down to $2075. They will help save you money the best they can. Once you are on the IVF schedule you must pay a $1000 deposit. They give you a cost sheet which breaks everything down when you schedule IVF.
Describe Patrick Blohm's approach to eSET (elective single embryo transfer) vs. multiple embryo transfer at Georgia Center for Reproductive Medicine.
Given my age, physique and that we are using ICSI my doctor recommended we transfer one embryo however he will allow us to elect for 2 embryos and is informative of the risks of a multiples pregnancy. They base these suggestions of the person themselves, the egg quality and using ICSI or not and age of the women. They do not transfer more then two as they are not a clinic that will create the next octomom itentinally. He is known in the online IVF chat world as the twin maker.
Our first round of ivf we did a ease into the doses of injectables. And we unfortunately did not have a successful pregnancy. Dr.Blohm was persistent, compassionate, and extremely understanding when we had to appease our insurance company and try someone else before they would pay for another visit with him...It isn't every day that a doctor will personally speak with you on the phone let alone a specialist. Definitely made me feel like he was just as invested as we were/are
Whitney [nurse at Georgia Center for Reproductive Medicine] is wonderful and seems as if she is the right hand to all the behind the scenes and does a great job!...Some of the receptionist could use better phone manners. There were times where I felt that receptionist was rude. And you just never know what is going on in someone's life so it is always important to be kind. Especially working in an office where couples are being seen for infertility The clinic in its self works hard, early, late, through lunch, and on holidays. You just don't get that kind of treatment anywhere.
How was your experience with Patrick Blohm at Georgia Center for Reproductive Medicine?
Dr.Blohm was referred to me as rough around the edges. As a health care worker myself I nor my husband ever felt this way. Dr.Blohm was very informative, answered any and all questions we may have had, and was not a what I like to call dilly dally around kind of doctor, and I love that
What's one piece of advice would you give a prospective patient of Patrick Blohm at Georgia Center for Reproductive Medicine?
To be open, upfront, and honest. And to trust the process

Our insurance company only paid for our consultation, office visits, initsl lab work, and ultrasounds. Anything else was solely out of pocket expenses paid by us
He [Dr Blohm] kept telling me "you were dealt a bad hand of cards " at every visit. It was frustrating because I know my problem, I need him to help me fix it or give me an answer in a compassionate way to help me. I was unhappy with his annoyed bedside manner and his gruffness. I did nothing wrong. I felt as though I was in the military, with his direct dry answers. I not in the military and I felt like a new recruit. I am woman who has a medical condition and I expect a level of concern and comfort for my well-being. After the failure of our IVF process, he came to deliver the news while I was lying on the bed, by myself. My husband was in the waiting area and he gave me the news still recovering. I felt like I was rushed and he should have been more compassionte in his delivery. I'm a big girl and can take almost anything, but to tell me my eggs are poor and there's probably no chance I'll ever get pregnant was hard. The experience with him was quite gruelling. I will not going back to him
Strengths [of Georgia Center for Reproductive Medicine]: The nurses are compassionate. Weaknesses: Dr. Blohm's attitude and bedside manner are the pits. What's one piece of advice would you give a prospective patient of Patrick Blohm at Georgia Center for Reproductive Medicine?
Be prepared to have a thick skin.
During treatment, were you treated like a number or a human with Patrick Blohm at Georgia Center for Reproductive Medicine?
Mainly, because of his bedside manner. He was way too blunt and seemed more concerned with the outcome than me as a person. Yes I realize the outcome is important, but the time, money, and how I was treated during these procedures is important too.
Describe the protocols Patrick Blohm used in your cycles at Georgia Center for Reproductive Medicine and their degree of success.
He had given me quite the dose of drugs.
Follostim each day
Menopur that started after the follicles were stimulated
Ganarellix
Progesterone injections
Doxycycline - which made me sick and he told that was normal and to keep taking it... I felt as though I was having an allergic reaction.
When I asked for pain meds, because I had just had surgery, he made it sound like I shouldn't be in pain and I was just asking for drugs. I didn't ask him for a narcotic, he just assumed I wanted one. I wanted the pain to go away. I was in pain, I wanted him to tell me what to do.

Describe the costs associated with your care under Patrick Blohm at Georgia Center for Reproductive Medicine.
I don't remember. My insurance covered the IVF-about half of the expenses. I know the meds were expensive.
I am a huge fan of Dr. Blohm. Yes, he is blunt, and no he doesn't explain every single little detail, but I wasn't looking for a friend. I was looking for the best doctor, and that's what I found in Dr. Blohm. He is super dedicated to his job. He works 7 days a week and only takes a few days a year off.... Be aware that he does talk fast and he is on a time schedule. He sees all of his patient's himself...no PA's or NP's here, which is another thing I loved. He is pretty blunt, but I appreciated that.
The clinic [Georgia Ctr for Reproductive Med] is open early each morning and you go downstairs to do your labwork, which is convenient. He has great nurses and his wife, Carolyn, is always there as well. Things are ran very smoothly there....Be aware that he does talk fast and he is on a time schedule. He sees all of his patient's himself...no PA's or NP's here, which is another thing I loved.... He works 7 days a week and only takes a few days a year off. He is very knowledgeable on all aspects of infertility.

While my first IVF cycle did work, I would have said all of these things about him even if it had failed because I know he did everything he could to ensure it was successful. I can't say enough great things about him to be honest.

Describe Patrick Blohm's approach to eSET (elective single embryo transfer) vs. multiple embryo transfer at Georgia Center for Reproductive Medicine.
Dr Blohm does all his ultrasounds...is very knowledgeable about IVF and fertility treatment...There was no compassionate at all. After our treatment we never got a phone call for a follow up or to see how things turned out...I never was told about how many follicles or such during ultrasounds, never knew what was going on just what dose of medicine to take every night...We done super ovaulation with follstim injections. We performed two IUIs during my cycle that resulted in a negative pregnancy test. He then wanted to move on to IVF
For IUI with injections it was 3,000 plus consult fee [at Georgia Center for Reproductive Medicine]...Clinics strengths would be dr Blohm is very knowledgeable about IVF and fertility treatment. Weakness is office staff and equipment. The ultrasounds are old. Not very caring at all when seeing the doctor...I never really seen any of the nurses. Dr Blohm does all his ultrasounds. I only seen on nurse to go over how to give the injections...
How was your experience with Patrick Blohm at Georgia Center for Reproductive Medicine?
As a doctor of knowledge he is the doctor to go to, for a doctor of compassionate and bed side manner it’s definitely not Dr Blohm. His nurses are very nice but the front desk makes you feel bad for calling about anything. The more I seen Dr Blohm the more I liked him but it takes a few visits to get his sense of humor. I never was told about how many follicles or such during ultrasounds, never knew what was going on just what dose of medicine to take every night.
What's one piece of advice would you give a prospective patient of Patrick Blohm at Georgia Center for Reproductive Medicine?

Dr. Blown is there to get you pregnant, yes. He lives and breathes fertility. However some follicle checks he wouldn't even speak to me... Expect tough love. At age 33, he told me my eggs were getting old, even though we were male factor...We ended up with a second trimester loss. I went for reconsult and he didn't even seem to care...He's very good at what he does but understand he does not have the latest technology in terms of testing and embryology lab...Prepare yourself for abruptness and his frankness.

Had it not been Whitney and Dr. Blohm's wife, Caroline, I would have had a mental breakdown...He's [Dr. Blohm] very good at what he does but understand he does not have the latest technology in terms of testing and embryology lab...$11,000 for IVF plus drugs $1800 FET...His strategies seem very textbook. I don't think he's very outside of the box...He's kind of old school, but does get babies. Prepare yourself for abruptness and his frankness.

Dr. Blohm has had success with my friends, but we did not. I didn't even see him on my egg retrieval day but he must have seen me! We ended up with a second trimester loss. I went for reconsult and he didn't even seem to care.
What's one piece of advice would you give a prospective patient of Patrick Blohm at Georgia Center for Reproductive Medicine?
Don't expect any bedside manner. Expect tough love. At age 33, he told me my eggs were getting old, even though we were male factor. Prepare your heart to take a beating from his abruptness. Some of my friends like his frankness. I don't think it was for me.

Describe Patrick Blohm's approach to eSET (elective single embryo transfer) vs. multiple embryo transfer at Georgia Center for Reproductive Medicine.
He's against eSET. I fought for two eSET and he mocked me both times. Told me I would have already had a baby had I listened to him. I was under 35, with one successful eSET already.
I had care that was designed just for me. Dr Blohm had nurses call, met on Sundays, and even did my iUI during Hurricane Matthew with just his wife present. That’s dedication!... Dr Blohm does not have a great bedside manner. He talks fast and often “above” me and he is very candid. However, he wants success for his patients and is dedicated to his job. He had the greatest compassion for me when I experienced a death of a close family member and then a miscarriage. He didn’t give up on me.
Clinic [Georgia Center for Repro Med] is clean, easy to get to, and has a great set up. The room the guy goes in could stand to be a bit bigger and in a more private spot, but in the end it worked out okay for my husband! You ring a bell and everyone can hear it so my husband didn’t like that. Rooms are big enough but cold. Everything seems sanitary which is good....[Cost Of Treatment] About 3800 for a complete IUI procedure which included medicines.

my experience with Dr. Blohm was awesome. I need to know exactly why I wasn't getting pregnant and he explained why and what could be done to conceive. He did an ultrasound and found out i have fibroids and also found out i had damage to my tube. Which i had no clue ... I was told I would not get pregnant without invitro because of my damaged tubes. I would need to raise 11,000 dollars in order to conceive

Dr Blohm is very honest and straight forward. He doesn't sugarcoat things. He may not have the best bedside manner but I always knew what to expect and he kept me well informed of everything....If you need someone to hold your hand and to tell you that everything will work out, Dr Blohm is not the doctor for you. I had a low ovarian reserve, so IUI with fertility medication was the best option for me, especially considering my age and the fact I was using donor sperm. We started on low dosages the first month but they were adjusted for the second month since the first attempt wasn't successful.

He [Dr. Patrick Blohm] is very straightforward and to the point. He does not sugar coat anything. But his success rates are high and that is more important. He isn't there to hold your hand but he does come up with a plan and a backup plan that suits you.... Dont expect hand holding. He is very blunt.... The practice is very busy so it may not be as personable as I would prefer.
[GA Center for Reproductive Medicine has a] Smaller staff who are compassionate and knowledgeable. Anytime I have ever had a question they are there and if they dont know the answer they usually find out and call back within a few hours.... The weaknesses would be that they are very busy. The strength is that they are very knowledgeable and each area knows what is going on. The front receptionist knows why you are there just like the nurse knows when your next appointment is. They communicate well.

Dr Blohm was straight to the point and very knowledgeable about the entire process. Dr Blohm made me feel comfortable and in good hands. He explained the entire process to me and my spouse and gave me plenty of time to ask questions. He was very good about keeping me updated on my eggs after retrival each day.... Dr Blohm is blunt but, go into it knowing he is good at what he does but, he isn’t god. He does the science and sadly it may or may not work.

He [Dr. Blohm] is incredibly knowledgeable and took the time to explain in detail all of the answers to our questions. He even included his personal testimony which greatly inspired us financially. We feel that he is the first doctor we have seen that has been completely upfront and honest with us about what we face with our infertility and encouraged us upon the best path for our treatment.
They [Georgia Center for Reproductive Medicine staff] are up to date on all technology and have ample educated friendly staff to assist all patients. There is an issue with being booked out a few months but this is what you will deal with at any infertility clinic, so I can't hold that against them at all...Dr. Blohm personally assisted the finance department in reviewing my insurance coverage to make sure we were doing everything we could to get our procedures covered or to get what we needed at a reduced cost.

Describe your experience with the nursing staff at Georgia Center for Reproductive Medicine.
They were mostly friendly but one was not very nice when we were 10 minutes late to an appointment. We had driven 2 hours and gotten stuck in unexpected traffic and there was a lack of compassion for the circumstances even though we were already under stress dealing with infertility and the appointment that day. Otherwise, the nurses are organized and welcoming. I do not know the one nurse's name who was inconsiderate.

I was initially started on clomid and since my body wasn't reacting to the clomid, I was started on follistim injections for about 2 weeks to produce eggs and stimulate ovulation. The injections worked and I was seen every 3 days for ultrasounds. After I reached 18-21, I was told when to administer my trigger shot of ovidrel and that in turn allowed me to be ready for artificial insemination the next day. I ovulated the next day; however, as of right now, I am not expecting but we're still going to continue treatment.
