Attention to Detail

Attention to detail is on a 1 - 10 scale, and is scored based on the rate, and severity, of errors committed by the clinic according to the patients.

For example, a severe error might be failing to inform a patient of critical information, while a small error might be failing to call a patient with results.

CDC Success Rates

This is the most recent data from the CDC. The CDC cautions that it should not be used to compare doctors and clinics. This data represents the outcomes of IVF cycles when using a person's own eggs.

For more information please see our FAQs.

Where you see a “?” on the chart, a clinic has done fewer than 20 cycles in this category and age range, so the CDC says showing percentages from this small data set would be misleading and unreliable.

Dr Meyer took her time explaining the treatment plans and asking me how I felt about things moving forward. At times I felt she opted for the absolute most conservative approach, sometimes costing me months while waiting.... Antagonist protocol was used every time I cycled, with the best result the first time, average dose, yield 3 embryos. Turns out I am a poor responder (with diminished ovarian reserve). Dr opted to increase meds to max dose for 2 additional cycles with very poor results.
It felt at times like a processing plant with high volumes of women passing through the dated waiting room [at Greenwich Fertility]. I wish I had done more research before choosing the clinic I would end up spending years with. I went local as I didn’t anticipate I would need as much help as I did. At times I felt like I wasn’t being listened to as an informed client. And the fact only one type of protocol was used in my case leads me to believe I could have saved years of treatment and could have had success sooner with more a appropriate protocol somewhere else. I ultimately ended up going elsewhere and had success with the first cycle on a new protocol (micro-dose lupron).

What's one piece of advice would you give a prospective patient of Laura Meyer at Greenwich Fertility and IVF Center?
Be active in the direction of care you want to receive. Research your diagnoses and come to the table informed of ALL your options. Just because a clinic suggests one course of action doesn’t mean you need to accept it. At times I felt like I was being directed in a manner I wouldn’t have chosen had I been more informed. There are multiple protocols, make sure the dr is open minded to trying multiple till you find something that works for your body.
During treatment, were you treated like a number or a human with Laura Meyer at Greenwich Fertility and IVF Center?
The volume of patients makes it difficult to feel like your treatment is a priority. Bedside manner and time taken to address concerns made me feel more connected

Nurses were the best part of this clinics staff- they were kind and conscientious and seems to always have my best interests at heart.

Cattle call with a full waiting room. Gina, the receptionist was always pleasant.
Describe the costs associated with your care under Laura Meyer at Greenwich Fertility and IVF Center.
I used all my insurance with dr Meyer and had to pay out of pocket for genetic screening, some additional procedures. Copay added up over time and I think the all in cost I had in addition to my “life-time allowance” with insurance was about 10k
Describe Laura Meyer's approach to eSET (elective single embryo transfer) vs. multiple embryo transfer at Greenwich Fertility and IVF Center.
Dr would only do single transfer, regardless of my asking to transfer 2 embryos.

After my first failed attempt, Dr. Meyer suggested I try something different with my second frozen transfer, and had me try a natural cycle. She made this suggestion based on seeing success with similar patients. The natural cycle involved taking crione gel inserts 3 times daily, and 1 tablet of estrace. This attempt resulted in a positive pregnancy...was an incredibly patient and supportive doctor. I had apprehension moving forward with IVF after my 3 failed IUIs, but she never discouraged me from trying something new, and was open to trying other options I inquired about, prior to moving forward with IVF.
nurses at GF were very knowledgeable, helpful and supportive. The team is incredibly unique and unlike any doctor's office. They truly care for your well being, and the hope for a successful outcome...They all remembered my name and would ask how I was doing. Dana at the front desk was also amazing, and did an incredible job answering any questions I had whenever I called in or saw her...Nicole was another reason why I trusted Greenwich Fertility so much. She was an incredible support system, and was always there for me whenever I called for questions to set my mind at ease. She would check up on me regularly even when she wasn't calling to give test results, and made me feel like I was a priority. I was very lucky to have Dr. Meyer and Nicole throughout my fertility journey.
How was your experience with Laura Meyer at Greenwich Fertility and IVF Center?
Dr.Meyer was an incredibly patient and supportive doctor. I had apprehension moving forward with IVF after my 3 failed IUIs, but she never discouraged me from trying something new, and was open to trying other options I inquired about, prior to moving forward with IVF. During the beginning stages of my IVF cycle, I went through a separate traumatic experience unrelated to my fertility. When Dr. Meyer found out from Dr.Brauer, she personally called me to ask how I was doing. I don't know any doctors that would take the time to reach out to their patients this way. I was really touched and am so appreciative for all her support.
What's one piece of advice would you give a prospective patient of Laura Meyer at Greenwich Fertility and IVF Center?
To know that you are in safe hands, and to trust Dr. Meyer's suggestions when opting to try something different. As an example, when my first ivf transfer didn't work, Dr. Meyer suggested I try a natural cycle, based on seeing this work for patients in similar circumstances. I was nervous at first, but trusted her judgement and opted to try the crinone gel versus the progestrone shots. Now, here I am 14 weeks later in my second trimester! I'm so glad I trusted her to try something different.
During treatment, were you treated like a number or a human with Laura Meyer at Greenwich Fertility and IVF Center?
Dr.Meyer, Nicole and the rest of the nurses at GF were always so friendly whenever I came in for an appointment. They all remembered my name and would ask how I was doing. Dana at the front desk was also amazing, and did an incredible job answering any questions I had whenever I called in or saw her.
Describe the protocols Laura Meyer used in your cycles at Greenwich Fertility and IVF Center and their degree of success.
My treatment based on an unexplained infertility diagnosis, involved 3 IUIs with clomid. I then requested to try Letrozole with timed intercourse. I tried Letrozole for 3 months before moving forward with IVF. For my retrieval Dr. Meyer had me take Gonal F and Menopur, which helped produce 18 eggs. 4 embryos made it to day 5 and 6, and 3 resulted in viable embryos after PGS testing. For my first frozen transfer, I took the progestrone shots which resulted in a chemical miscarriage. This attempt resulted in a positive pregnancy.

Describe your experience with Greenwich Fertility and IVF Center.
The entire team at Greenwich Fertility was always so warm and supportive. Dana at the front desk was amazing. She was so helpful with all of my insurance frustrations, and would follow up regularly until any issues were resolved. She was also super supportive and a great voice to have at the end of the line whenever I would call in. I always preferred going to the Tuckahoe office because of Dana. While at GF, I also saw Dr. Brauer. She like Dr. Meyer truly cares for her patients, and provided me with such reassurance and support throughout my journey. All the other nurses at GF were very knowledgeable, helpful and supportive. The team is incredibly unique and unlike any doctor's office. They truly care for your well being, and the hope for a successful outcome.

Dr. Witt is extremely competent and direct, he is not the touchy / feely type but he is compassionate nonetheless. If you prefer a more touchy / feely approach, other doctors in his practice may fit that personality trait better, but I always felt comfortable with and confident in Dr. Witt's abilities and communication style...We did three rounds of freeze all with PGD and PGS and one transfer...We did a single embryo transfer and Dr. Witt fully explained the rationale and my husband and I agreed.
The warmth of the team at the clinic [Greenwich Fertility and IVF Center] and their approach to treating every patient as a human and understanding the challenges is truly remarkable. So many strengths to list...it is truly a great environment. Some areas of improvement are probably on the organizational side at times, but very minor. The Greenwich team members have been better consistently than team members from sister offices.
How was your experience with Barry Witt at Greenwich Fertility and IVF Center?
Dr. Witt is extremely competent and professional. He sticks to the facts and is very direct in his communication style. I think anyone going through these treatments needs to be realistic in their expectations and it is easy to blame the doctor when things do not go as expected but ultimately, all of our bodies are different and we react differently to treatments. Dr. Witt is not the touchy/feely type so if that is what you are looking for, he may not be for you but I truly felt comfortable with him and his level of professionalism and competence.

From day one, I felt that Dr. Brauer listened to me and reviewed my chart from the other hospital. She kept adjusting and tweaking my treatment plan (protocols) throughout the year that I worked with her. She was warm, kind, compassionate and sincere. She was a shoulder to cry on with bad news and the person screaming the loudest with good news. I was beyond fortunate to have met her. Her dedication to helping people get pregnant is evident.
The offices [Greenwich] are bright, cheerful and warm. The other patients in the waiting room acknowledge each other and say hello. Convenient parking. Enough chairs in the waiting room- when I went to a NYC clinic with a satellite office in the burbs, sometimes there were not enough chairs for everyone to sit. It made the waiting room uncomfortable....The nurses in the Tuckahoe office were the best. They were kind, compassionate and patient in explaining results to me, scheduling appts at my convenience and answering my questions. They were readily accessible. The called me back in timely fashion.

From the moment I walked into the Tuckahoe office, I felt at home. The atmosphere is warm, inviting and calming. The office staff knew my name and addressed me fondly each time I arrived. I did not feel like a number. I felt like they were my biggest cheerleaders. I went to a NYC "factory" IVF clinic and no one could care less about me let alone know anything about my history.

Luckily my IUI were covered and I had 3 IVF covered with insurance. I only had to pay for copays including office visits and medications.

I was an older patient and the rationale for single embryo transfer was explained in detail with me- ie risks to the mother and baby. In the end, I only had a single embryo to transfer.

at my previous doctor, he over stimulated me with the trigger shot and recovery was painful and long. Rather than do this again, she [Dr. Laura Meyer] used that information and have me trigger with a belly shot rather than HCG and my recovery was a piece of cake...She truly cares about her patients and take time out of her extremely busy day to answer any and all questions. She is approachable, kind, smart, responsible, careful, and so much more. We actually had very bad news happen at this doctor before getting our good news, but the way she handled it all was amazing; she allowed us to have the strength to go through with it all again.
Elisa [nurse at Greenwich Fertility] was absolutely amazing. She was so kind and approachable and anytime she had to call me with news - whether good or bad - she made the phone call bearable...billing department wasn't always the most pleasant. The money was worth it in the long wrong and the doctors/nurses were so great that they made it easy to temporarily forget about the money part of things!... When I had an appointment, I was in and out in less than 10 minutes. They opened early for this which was also a plus and they were very flexible with scheduling around my work calendar.
How was your experience with Laura Meyer at Greenwich Fertility and IVF Center?
see previous comments: Dr. Meyer was our 'second opinion' doctor and with such a terrible experience at our first doctor, things could really only go up from there. Well they not only went up but they FAR exceeded our expectations. Dr. Meyer's bedside manner is amazing. What's one piece of advice would you give a prospective patient of Laura Meyer at Greenwich Fertility and IVF Center?
...don't hold anything back - ask all of your questions as silly as you may think they are. I remember feeling bad that I was taking up all of her time every visit, but you should never feel this way. Luckily, Dr. Meyer helped me realize this!

I have a tendency to ovulate early when on all of these injections so she had me monitored more often than normal when that time was close. Turns out I was right so she had me double my dosage of ganarelix. I was grateful she listened to me and was proactive. Also, at my previous doctor, he over stimulated me with the trigger shot and recovery was painful and long. Rather than do this again, she used that information and have me trigger with a belly shot rather than HCG and my recovery was a piece of cake.
Describe your experience with your nurse at Greenwich Fertility and IVF Center. (Assigned nurse: Elisa Papadopoulos)
Elisa was absolutely amazing. She was so kind and approachable and anytime she had to call me with news - whether good or bad - she made the phone call bearable. She was pregnant during my treatment and teared up talking to me about how she understood how hard things were for me and she was in my corner etc. After her babies were born and my baby was born, etc. we still emailed to keep in touch because a true relationship had been formed during treatment.
Describe your experience with Greenwich Fertility and IVF Center.
Great doctors and for the most part nurses (there was always one nurse I dreaded seeing. I felt like she never drew my blood correctly and she was socially awkward asking about things you should never ask fertility patients about). Most of the staff was also great (again with the exception of one lady in billing who had poor customer service and forgot that she was dealing with hormonal women who usually get bad news). I love how they have appointments for blood and ultra sound rather than do a first come first serve policy which is always a nightmare. When I had an appointment, I was in and out in less than 10 minutes. They opened early for this which was also a plus and they were very flexible with scheduling around my work calendar.
Describe the costs associated with your care under Laura Meyer at Greenwich Fertility and IVF Center.
Extremely expensive...we have great insurance and it covered a LOT, but we still managed to have bill after bill! Little things were not covered like thawing but in order to transfer a frozen embryo of course you had to thaw! Things like that kept popping up for us and as I mentioned in a previous window, billing department wasn't always the most pleasant. The money was worth it in the long wrong and the doctors/nurses were so great that they made it easy to temporarily forget about the money part of things!

Dr. Brauer is confident and backed by credentials. I appreciate her directness and ability to be aggressive. But for me, I felt like my diagnosis and treatment was all following a protocol without a real consideration for my unique situation and reaction to meds. I've gone through each cycle with a lot of doubt about it actually working... and as someone paying 100% out of pocket, it is a tough decision to continue coming back without the confidence that Dr. Brauer is considering me, specifically, as a patient.
[Greenwich Fertility's] Strengths: Easy to schedule appointments, online portal with all test results Weaknesses: rotating doctors and nurses, the only time you can speak with your doctor is to make a follow up appointment, otherwise you will speak through a nurse, and when you speak with a nurse (not necessarily one who knows your situation), hours are M-F, 7:30am-5pm only...Each interaction is brief and because of the way the clinic is managed, half the time you will see a different doctor anyway. The other doctors prefer you ask questions to 'your doctor', which ultimately means speaking with a nurse.

Don't be afraid to keep pushing back and asking questions, even if Dr. Brauer acts like your question is silly.
During treatment, were you treated like a number or a human with Anate Brauer at Greenwich Fertility and IVF Center?
My diagnosis was very generic, without much interest in root cause. I felt like she was just interested in prescribing the same course of treatment for everyone. Each interaction is brief and because of the way the clinic is managed, half the time you will see a different doctor anyway. The other doctors prefer you ask questions to 'your doctor', which ultimately means speaking with a nurse.
Describe the protocols Anate Brauer used in your cycles at Greenwich Fertility and IVF Center and their degree of success.
Dr. Brauer used very standard protocols to induce ovulation. She started me with Clomid + Ovidrel + IUI + endometrin. Then, because my lining was thin switched me to letrozole + Ovidrel + IUI + endometrin. When I asked to try a timed intercourse cycle, she only recommended letrezol because "I would ovulate on my own" (which I didn't) we also used 1mg Estradiol to improve my lining, starting when my follicles were >14mm. In that final cycle I never ovulated and she recommended I consider IVF. None resulted in pregnancy.
Describe your experience with the nursing staff at Greenwich Fertility and IVF Center.
There were two nurses I really liked (Molly and Alisa), the others were cold and rude to me. The nurses appeared to rotate along with the doctors, so I never knew which nurse I would see.

Describe the costs associated with your care under Anate Brauer at Greenwich Fertility and IVF Center.
About $3500 for an IUI cycle. $4500 for my failed cycle with extra monitoring.

From the get go I felt like Dr. Brauer was the right doctor for me. Everyone in my life tried to get me to go to NYC but my gut (which is very accurate) always felt confident in Dr. Brauer's care. Her personality made me want to grab a cup of coffee with her yet her brilliance was evident. Dr. Brauer called me personally for my exciting positive pregnancy test and my disappointing news of a chemical pregnancy. Both times she shared in the emotion of the call, super excited for the good news and leaving me with a positive outlook after the bad. I have trusted Dr. Brauer's game plan implicitly and have complete faith she will get me pregnant.
The greenwich office [of Greenwich Fertility and IVF Center] front desk is perfectly fine but Dana at the Tuckahoe location is on point. She is so knowledgeable and very friendly. It does not get better than her.... Molly [a nurse] is absolute perfection. She and Dr. Brauer appear to be a real team. Molly is friendly and on top of her game always making sure I leave with clear direction for next steps.

What's one piece of advice would you give a prospective patient of Anate Brauer at Greenwich Fertility and IVF Center?
Be present through the fertility journey ..take one day at a time
During treatment, were you treated like a number or a human with Anate Brauer at Greenwich Fertility and IVF Center?
When I ran into Dr. Brauer at Whole Foods she gave me a hug. It doesn't get more human feeling than that. In the office, we will connect on a person level like notice we share the same nail color then get down to business.
Describe the protocols Anate Brauer used in your cycles at Greenwich Fertility and IVF Center and their degree of success.
So far I have done 3 iui. Each with clomid and ovidrel trigger shot. I usually have about 3 mature follicles. One IUI resulted in a chemical pregnancy.

I'm curently pregnant with a, "non viable" pregnancy. She [Dr. Nora Miller] hasn't checked in once and said I will probably need a methotrexate shot- very cold, very unkind. I was even in the hospital over all of this...Rarely followed up, her nurses did everything including my medical regiment. She spews statistics with no humanistic feel for the patient and for the arduous process IVF actually is.
They [Greenwich Fertility and IVF Center] have a cookie -cutter approach to their hormone regimen- I was getting violently ill from the excessive estrogen I was using and was told over and over that it's not the medicine causing my issues...Disorganized- there is no real flow and call backs for labs are a nightmare... Kate was going through a pregnancy, didn't show me how to take my meds, mix my meds or anything...Lehigh (spelling) was amazing, but I didn't have her till the end. Petra- not sure if she was an RN, did all my labs was a ray of sunshine
How was your experience with Nora Miller at Greenwich Fertility and IVF Center?
As the wife of a physician I can say that Dr. miller is by no means a stupid woman. That being said- my husband and I both feel very disrespected by her. I don't feel that she has any care in the world about the hell that we women go through in this process, and one call after hours, such as before an embryo transfer, would go a long way in garnering trust and respect. The fact that we have now burned through 3 prime embryos makes her even tougher to defend. I came into this excited to start my family and after all the ups and downs with her I dread continuing this process.
What's one piece of advice would you give a prospective patient of Nora Miller at Greenwich Fertility and IVF Center?
Really think if you are ok with a hand off Dr that is only concerned with a successful single embryo transfer. I wish someone would have given me a heads up about this place before we continued this process to continual failure. I'm curently pregnant with a, "non viable" pregnancy. She hasn't checked in once and said I will probably need a methotrexate shot- very cold, very unkind. I was even in the hospital over all of this.

Describe the protocols Nora Miller used in your cycles at Greenwich Fertility and IVF Center and their degree of success.
They have a cookie -cutter approach to their hormone regimen- I was getting violently ill from the excessive estrogen I was using and was told over and over that it's not the medicine causing my issues. Me and my husband were so furious with her re: my vision fluctuation and my generally feeling terrrible that he came to the office and demanded she show us my lab work. To her surprise, my estrogen jumped up and down and I still had to increase my dosage without having bloodwork first. She told me I "should see an ophthalmologist re: my eye problems" when my husband is clearly an ophthalmologist. The first run per the cookie cutter hand out in was 1 mg 2d a day.. increasing to 3 mg 2 a day. Second round she kept me on 1mg twice a day- I strongly believe my first cycle failed because the inconsistency of my estrogen and my body was not longer a safe environment for my embryo.
Describe your experience with your nurse at Greenwich Fertility and IVF Center. (Assigned nurse: Kate/Lehigh/random full ins)
Kate was going through a pregnancy, didn't show me how to take my meds, mix my meds or anything. Lehigh (spelling) was amazing, but I didn't have her till the end. Petra- not sure if she was an RN, did all my labs was a ray of sunshine
Describe your experience with Greenwich Fertility and IVF Center.
Weakness- cold( in call Dr told me there wasn't a chance I had a viable pregnancy with my betas- I only had two) Disorganized- there is no real flow and call backs for labs are a nightmare. I called to get results at 11:30, I was told dr miller would call me back in 10-20 min, I had no call till 3.36 pm
Describe your experience with your monitoring appointments at Greenwich Fertility and IVF Center.
Courtney is great, very kind and I think that's why people see it as a warm welcoming clinic.
Describe Nora Miller's approach to eSET (elective single embryo transfer) vs. multiple embryo transfer at Greenwich Fertility and IVF Center.
She holds very strong on selective embryo transfer- spouts statistics, and tells you all the risks- I think it was more scare tactics, even citing high risk of cerebral Palsy with twins- she won't transfer two first round, especially on PGS tested embryos. ( my first transfer was a fail)

I asked for a letter stating I can't travel for a work trip to Costa Rica because of Zika- said it was coming, and I ended up getting in trouble with work because the note came in a month late( mind you I had to go in and get it) Dr miller claimed it was all three PGA tested embryos that had the issue, not let's figure out what we can do different.

Dr. Miller is straightforward, honest without being cold, and very up-to-date with the latest research on effective treatment strategies. I always had total confidence in her treatment approach...with only a handful of exceptions when she was not available, she walked us through the treatment plan each month, did every ultrasound, every IUI, and transfer. The only appointments where I wasn't scheduled to see her were just blood draws, and even then she'd usually poke her head in just to check on how things were going, see if I had any side effects...
I never had any issues with billing or insurance [at Greenwich Fertility].. and they made scheduling very simple. Updates on blood work or other test results were always timely....The vast majority of the nurses were excellent, personable, and efficient....The Stamford clinic could really stand to open earlier - they officially open at 8...Once or twice, I arrived for a monitoring appointment that hadn't been entered correctly in the schedule.. It was dealt with quickly, usually getting me in within 20 minutes or so, and giving me priority to minimize wasting my time.
How was your experience with Nora Miller at Greenwich Fertility and IVF Center?
Dr. Miller is straightforward, honest without being cold, and very up-to-date with the latest research on effective treatment strategies. I always had total confidence in her treatment approach (wish I could say that about my new OB). Even though we were unexplained (which tends to mean "throw shit at the wall until something sticks"), it always felt like each round of treatment was tailored to my individual response in previous rounds. When Clomid thinned my lining, we immediately moved to injectables despite an otherwise good follicle response. I reacted strongly to injectables but the IUI failed, so my IVF meds dose was scaled back to make sure I wouldn't be put at risk of OHSS. Overall a great doctor-patient relationship.
What's one piece of advice would you give a prospective patient of Nora Miller at Greenwich Fertility and IVF Center?
Be up-front about how you want to receive information. She is incredibly knowledgeable, so will get into as much (or as little) detail as you want. I did this early and was glad that I did.
During treatment, were you treated like a number or a human with Nora Miller at Greenwich Fertility and IVF Center?
Dr. Miller previously ran her own practice, but now has joined with the team at Greenwich Fertility (located in Greenwich and Stamford). With only a handful of exceptions when she was not available, she walked us through the treatment plan each month, did every ultrasound, every IUI, and transfer. The only appointments where I wasn't scheduled to see her were just blood draws, and even then she'd usually poke her head in just to check on how things were going, see if I had any side effects, or just chat. I'm a scientist, so I asked to know blood and guts, and she explained every detail about what each medication does, how it interacts with everything else you're taking, and what kinds of side effects to expect. When you're on so many different meds, understanding what everything does can be crucial for catching errors (pharmacy sending something incorrect, etc.). When she does ultrasounds, she takes the time to point out and explain every feature that she sees. One of the few times she was not available, I got one of the other doctors in the practice who wouldn't even let me see the screen - I can't imagine doing that every other day for weeks at a time. She also makes patient-centered choices on treatment setup. There are various steps along the way where the outcome is the same, but the logistics can be significantly worse - for example, taking 3-4 shots a day vs. mixing meds when stimming for IVF. Dr. Miller went out of her way to choose the technique that she felt would be the easiest and offer the least interference. Where that wasn't possible, (I had to be on PIO injections due to trigger type), she adjusted needle types and gave tips on improving the injections to make the process more tolerable, and got me off of those injections as quickly as possible rather than the "better safe than sorry, but your ass will be a pincushion for 3 months" method used by many clinics. Many fertility practices treat women like they'e at a cattle call, but I never felt that way with Dr. Miller.
Describe the protocols Nora Miller used in your cycles at Greenwich Fertility and IVF Center and their degree of success.
Cycle 1: Clomid + IUI, with a trigger shot. Did not do a medicated-only cycle, as newer research shows that in my situation, it would have produced little benefit beyond good old-fashioned sex. Produced 2-3 good follicles, but cycle failed. Cycle 2: Continued with Clomid + IUI + trigger, since my response was good the first month. Only one follicle this time, and uterine lining dropped from excellent to just ok. We proceeded with the cycle, but cycle failed. Cycle 3: Given the lining issue and weaker Clomid response from the prior month, switched to injectables (Gonal-F). I asked about Femara instead, but Dr. Miller suggested that although it is helpful in women who don't ovulate, since I ovulate every month anyway, we needed a treatment that would produce multiple follicles, which Femara typically doesn't. Anyway, early ultrasounds showed a ton of follicles developing, so we backed my dose way down. Ended up with 4 or so good follicles, but cycle failed. Cycle 4: Initial fast reaction to injectables left me with several cysts. Benched 3-4 weeks on birth control to let those shrink. Cycle 5: IVF cycle. Antagonist protocol, with (relatively low dose, after the injectables) Gonal-F, Ganirelix, and a combined Lupron + hCG trigger since I was already retaining fluid even on the injectables cycle. 13 follicles retrieved, 12 mature, 9 fertilized, 6 day 5/6 blastocysts. Single embryo fresh transfer due to my age and diagnosis, other 5 were frozen with no PGS. Currently 7 months pregnant.
Describe your experience with the nursing staff at Greenwich Fertility and IVF Center.
The vast majority of the nurses were excellent, personable, and efficient. One was actively not good with blood draws (I got some pretty spectacular bruises from her, rarely the others), which was mostly an issue for me because I have a pretty strong needle phobia - not great for fertility treatment under the best of circumstances. Occasionally I would come in for monitoring and no one would realize I was supposed to be there, but this was rare and quickly rectified.
Describe your experience with Greenwich Fertility and IVF Center.
In general, this was a very efficient clinic. I never had any issues with billing or insurance, which is pretty spectacular considering how often I was in there, and they made scheduling very simple. Updates on blood work or other test results were always timely. Only a few minor criticisms. The Stamford clinic could really stand to open earlier - they officially open at 8 (although monitoring starts around 7:50 or so). Working a regular office job that also starts at 8, I was late every day that I had to go in for monitoring. I was rarely at the Greenwich clinic, so can't speak to that location. Also, one of the staff at the front desk regularly lectured me on how I was going to have to stop working or cut way back or whatever once I had kids, and told me all about her experiences with pregnancy. Not something I was interested in hearing about in the midst of a long struggle to even get pregnant, and I'm pretty sure plenty of people work for a living, even with kids.
Describe the costs associated with your care under Nora Miller at Greenwich Fertility and IVF Center.
Most of my costs were insured, so I paid for copays and embryo freezing only.
Describe Nora Miller's approach to eSET (elective single embryo transfer) vs. multiple embryo transfer at Greenwich Fertility and IVF Center.
For my age and an unexplained diagnosis, Dr. Miller strongly recommended a single embryo transfer, and I believe that is her typical practice unless there is a strong reason to choose otherwise. I was definitely on board with this.
What specific things went wrong at Greenwich Fertility and IVF Center?

Describe the specific things that went wrong at Greenwich Fertility and IVF Center.
Once or twice, I arrived for a monitoring appointment that hadn't been entered correctly in the schedule, so they were not expecting me. It was dealt with quickly, usually getting me in within 20 minutes or so, and giving me priority to minimize wasting my time.

I really felt that Dr Brauer was personally invested in getting me pregnant. She hugged me before the retrieval and again after the positive pregnancy test. She shared details of her own story that put me at ease and allayed my fears. We had a very straight forward and successful IVF, but her upbeat attitude told me that even if we had a setback she'd have a plan b and another path to success.
It's inevitable that you won't always see the same doctor because they operate more than one location. As a result some of my key procedures [at Greenwich Fertility and IVF Center] were performed by other doctors, all of whom I was meeting for the first time during the procedure. While that was frustrating, I've been told it's standard at all the clinics. Most of the doctors were great. There is one that has a terrible bedside manner, although i'm told he's an excellent technical doctor. Having him perform a procedure isn't a bad thing knowing that he's very good at what he does, you'll just need to call Dr. Brauer later to get the information (and compassion) you're looking for.

What's one piece of advice would you give a prospective patient of Anate Brauer at Greenwich Fertility and IVF Center?
Working with her office means taking some appointments with other doctors in the practice and they do not all have her bedside manner.
During treatment, were you treated like a number or a human with Anate Brauer at Greenwich Fertility and IVF Center?
The office was wonderful. The nurses were all quick to share their own stories as a means of reassuring me of the probability of success. Dr Brauer was always quick to return a call or see me whenever i needed to come in. Her bedside manner put me totally at ease. She communicated all steps in the process in our first meeting and at every step reassured me that this will work- and she was right!
Describe the protocols Anate Brauer used in your cycles at Greenwich Fertility and IVF Center and their degree of success.
I had a 100% tubal blockage after a ruptured appendix and subsequent abdominal infection. There was no discussion of IUI or other treatment options. I began with 10ish days of birth control, then began a stimulation cycle of gonal and medipure. I had an hcg trigger, a successful retrieval of 11 eggs, which developed into 9 initial embroys and four 5 day embryos. We transferred one fresh embryo and froze the other 3 for the future. The transfer was successful and i am now 9 weeks pregnant.
Describe your experience with your nurse at Greenwich Fertility and IVF Center. (Assigned nurse: Kate)
The entire staff was fantastic. They are always asking how I feel and offering advice on how to cope with the side effects of treatment. I never had to call and chase anyone. They called when they said they would and always gave results promptly and with full details. They were happy to sit down and go through all the financials and review our insurance coverage. The entire office made the process as easy as it could be.

Describe your experience with your monitoring appointments at Greenwich Fertility and IVF Center.
The office feels very private. There were rarely more than 1 or 2 other people in the waiting room when I was there. I rarely waited more than 10 minutes to be seen and once they called me to say the Dr. was running behind and to come later. They didn't want me to sit in the waiting room for an hour so they let me reschedule for later the same day which I really appreciated. Monitoring was fast and I expected it to be a bigger time burden than it really was.
Describe the costs associated with your care under Anate Brauer at Greenwich Fertility and IVF Center.
I believe the total cost was close to $20,000 (including drugs, copays, egg storage, etc), but fortunately our insurance coverage was substantial and our out of pocket was less than $5,000.

Dr. Witt had a very neutral, almost dispassionate, approach to my care. Whenever I met with him, he was very clinical and blunt about the odds of successful pregnancy. I did not feel confident that he was really recommending the best course of treatment or attempting to narrow down my specific infertility problems in order to address them...It felt like he was doing things "by the book" rather than really evaluating what might be wrong and making adjustments every cycle to try and achieve a success.
I felt as though the nursing staff [at Greenwich Fertility] was very caring, however the doctor [Dr Witt] was a bit impersonal. It felt like he was doing things "by the book" rather than really evaluating what might be wrong and making adjustments every cycle to try and achieve a success...Strengths were scheduling--they definitely made an effort to get you in at the appropriate time, and had convenient early morning hours to not interfere with work. They do not have a "no children in the waiting room" policy, so you will sometimes encounter couples trying for their second or third that bring in a toddler. That can be upsetting if you are coming in for a follow-up after a negative cycle. One major weakness is the insurance/billing department. They always had trouble coordinating with my insurance to get prior authorizations, even when told well in advance that I would need authorization for medications. We were also still receiving bills for procedures a year after stopping treatments because they were slow to bill insurance.

Do your research ahead of time and go in to every appointment with a list of questions. Don't be afraid to question what the doctor is recommending and make suggestions for more testing or a different course of treatment.
During treatment, were you treated like a number or a human with Barry Witt at Greenwich Fertility and IVF Center?
I felt as though the nursing staff was very caring, however the doctor was a bit impersonal. It felt like he was doing things "by the book" rather than really evaluating what might be wrong and making adjustments every cycle to try and achieve a success.
Describe the protocols Barry Witt used in your cycles at Greenwich Fertility and IVF Center and their degree of success.
First cycle was clomid only. Ultrasound showed two good follicles and we were instructed on appropriate timing of intercourse. Second cycle was clomid and IUI with trigger shot. Follicle development was good again. Third and fourth cycles were with Follistim injections plus trigger shot. On third cycle, IUI was cancelled due to too many mature follicles (high risk for multiples). On fourth cycle, IUI was completed. All cycles were unsuccessful. We were then told that our best chance for pregnancy was IVF, but that was still only about a 10% likelihood of success each cycle.
Describe your experience with the nursing staff at Greenwich Fertility and IVF Center.
Nursing staff was very warm and competent. Pros at doing blood draws, even with my tiny, difficult veins. Waiting for afternoon results was a bit anxiety provoking because they always called right before close of business and then if a medication change had to be made it could be difficult to get the mail order pharmacy on the phone.

We only did procedures covered by insurance, so costs were fairly minimal. We spent about $1500 total in the first year, when we had an insurance deductible.

Describe the specific things that went wrong at Greenwich Fertility and IVF Center.
I had a lot of trouble dealing with the insurance department in getting prior authorization for medication. They seemed to have a blase attitude to the process, but these are expensive drugs and I was not in a position to pay out of pocket. They did fail to call with results a few times, but I was careful to watch the clock and call them before closing.

Dr Meyer is really pleasant and makes you feel comfortable. That being said, she follows a strict protocol and wouldn't deviate from it. She really didn't take a step back and dig deeper into the problem with additional questions and diagnostic tests. Instead we just followed the protocol, which was unsuccessful. I found out with my 2nd RE that I had endometriosis after I had been a patient of hers for almost 2 years. It never even came up as a possibility with Dr Meyer and was never explored. It was disappointing.
They were all nice enough [at Greenwich Fertility and IVF Center] and the nurses who did the blood tests were very warm and friendly. It was fine at the time because I had nothing else to compare them too and generally most Doctor's offices don't offer a great experience. Given the high touch nature of fertility it feels like GF could do a bit more to make the experience more personal for patients...It felt odd asking them questions on my personal case as the nurses would vary and didn't know my case. When I would call with a question I would be told that they needed to consult with the Doctor. When I asked for extra time to ask my questions to the Doctor even just a quick phone call I was told I needed to pay for a consult.

Success w/ Doc Too early to know
We will PGT if we get to retrieval and only transfer 1. We do not want twins and are on the same page as [Dr. Laura Meyer]...She is kind, compassionate and also very scientifically based. She would always call me back when I had questions and gave me all the time I needed. Only drawback is that she is so well liked and the clinic is down a doctor now so her schedule is packed...2 cycles with estrogen priming, 150 Gonal , 300 Menopur and then Ganirelex...added clomid With cycle 2 Poor response to first cycle and ovulated through Ganirelex. Second cycle got a lead follicle of 18 mm by Day 4, so cancelled cycle. Starting third cycle of Lupron flare with bc priming in January
The front desk [at Greenwich Fertility and IVF Center] couldn’t be kinder or more compassionate. They always remember my name! If you have issues getting your insurance to pay for genetic screening, they are so helpful (the billing department) . I don’t love that I have to go to Tuckahoe rather than Greenwich or Stamford often so that’s the only drawback...Love the nurses who do the blood draw. My nurse is smart and organized but maybe not as compassionate or warm as dr Meyer...We will PGT if we get to retrieval and only transfer 1. We do not want twins and are on the same page as dr Meyer

Dr. Witt was well informed and very candid which I appreciated. But I didn't feel he was the best to deal with a more challenging situation like mine. I was looking for a little more aggressive approach. He didn't give me much hope and was very numbers/stats focused....He would be a great doctor for certain situations just didn't feel right for mine. I would suggest they carefully consider their specific challenges and his specific areas of expertise
Nice offices [Greenwich Fert ] and convenient location for those living in souther Fairfield County. There are a few different doctors in this practice so I would do some research to determine who might be the best fit for you if you decide to go with this clinic...Organized, detailed and caring. And reachable which is important to mention and can be difficult at some of the larger clinics. One nurse went above and beyond and allowed me to come in so she could do my trigger shot since I messed up the timing a bit and totally panicked. Love her for that!

Antagonist stimulation protocol. 150 Menopur and 150 Follistim. 2 follicles only, cancelled IVF cycle and did IUI. Resulted in chemical pregnancy.

I never completed a retrieval with Dr. Witt but the costs were very fair, if not less than what I've seen in NYC. He also accepts a few insurance plans if you're lucky enough to have coverage.

Overall a good doctor. Still definitely just starting out her practice and a bit cautious (very inclined to try less invasive procedures for longer than others)... Be clear about what you want to achieve and how aggressive you want to be with your treatment.
The nurses always called right before they closed for the day, so if they didn't call, I had to page a doctor for results, which is less than ideal. Also if I missed a call and the voicemail they left was unclear about anything, I again would have to page a doctor given how late in the day they would call.

Only issue I had with the clinic was once or twice receiving a call from the nursing staff with blood work results. The nurses always called right before they closed for the day, so if they didn't call, I had to page a doctor for results, which is less than ideal. Also if I missed a call and the voicemail they left was unclear about anything, I again would have to page a doctor given how late in the day they would call.

Dr. Witt was amazing. I felt comfortable and safe with him. He was always available, ALWAYS. He came in on a Sunday to perform a sonogram after I had pains when he easily could have waited till Monday. I appreciate everything he did for me and I have two beautiful children because of him.
Dr Witt and his team was compassionate and you felt like you were his only patient.

Dr. Miller worked with us every step of the way...calm demeanor and encouraging words helped us stay reassured throughout the fertility treatments...ensured that we understood every process well enough; along with the risks and challenges....very punctual doctor. Never did I see her frown or speak in a dismissive tone
Strengths [of Greenwich Fertility and IVF Center]...appointment scheduling mechanism is perfect...called in at my appointment time. I only had to wait when the Tuckahoe facility was closed and patients had to come into Greenwich (or) if I missed my appointment time. Weakness - I honestly didn't see any.
How was your experience with Nora Miller at Greenwich Fertility and IVF Center?
My husband and I had consulted Dr. Miller for our pregnancy journey. Dr. Miller worked with us every step of the way and ensured that we were comfortable during every visit to the fertility clinic. Her calm demeanor and encouraging words helped us stay reassured throughout the fertility treatments. Dr. Miller ensured that we understood every process well enough; along with the risks and challenges. Most of all, a very punctual doctor. Never did I see her frown or speak in a dismissive tone. I would strongly recommend Dr. Miller to anyone looking to commence an IVF/IUI treatment.
What's one piece of advice would you give a prospective patient of Nora Miller at Greenwich Fertility and IVF Center?
Dr. Miller will make you feel at home. Just ensure that you are punctual to your appointments because Dr. Miller keeps her time. Also, feel free to ask questions, however silly they might seem to you. Try to be part of the process from the start.
During treatment, were you treated like a number or a human with Nora Miller at Greenwich Fertility and IVF Center?
Dr. Miller is a warm and genuine doctor who makes one feel comfortable. She ensures that one understands every aspect of the procedure and is very detail-oriented. She definitely made me feel like a human and not like a number.
Describe the protocols Nora Miller used in your cycles at Greenwich Fertility and IVF Center and their degree of success.
I do not remember the specific details.
Describe your experience with your nurse at Greenwich Fertility and IVF Center. (Assigned nurse: Bianca, Annie, Nikki and Angela)
All the nursing staff were extremely compassionate, friendly and helpful. Right from the nurses at the blood draw unit (Alaina and one other) to the nursing staff assigned to me periodically (Annie, Bianca, Nikki, Angela) to the front office staff (Ledia and Tara); everyone is professional and helpful. A special mention to the nurses at the blood draw unit. They make you feel special and hear you out.
Describe your experience with Greenwich Fertility and IVF Center.
Strengths- I found that their appointment scheduling mechanism is perfect. Most of the days I had been there, I would be called in at my appointment time. I only had to wait when the Tuckahoe facility was closed and patients had to come into Greenwich (or) if I missed my appointment time. Weakness - I honestly didn't see any.
Describe the costs associated with your care under Nora Miller at Greenwich Fertility and IVF Center.
Most of my costs were covered by my insurance. I had to pay my co-pays.
Describe Nora Miller's approach to eSET (elective single embryo transfer) vs. multiple embryo transfer at Greenwich Fertility and IVF Center.
Dr. Miller always recommended the eSET and clearly explained the drawbacks and challenges of a multiple embryo transfer. Dr. Miller also clearly explained the negative impacts that a multiple embryo transfer may have on both the mother and the babies.

I suffered a miscarriage from my first pregnancy after 10 months of trying and Dr. Miller showed no emotion when telling me she could not find the heartbeat during an ultrasound...Dr. Miller performed a routine d&c after I miscarried. There was retained tissue after the procedure so she performed another operative hysteroscopy to remove the remaining tissue and again was unsuccessful! I had to have a 3rd procedure (I switched doctors this time) because of Dr. Miller's incompetence which has led to major complications. She later admitted that she had never dealt with retained tissue before- i know there is risk of retained tissue after any d&c but having to have 3 procedures after 1 miscarriage is unheard of and unacceptable...
Small clinic [Greenwich Fertility and IVF Center] so they could move quickly with appointments, procedures etc. You can see the same dr. every visit. In comparison with the clinic i switched to Greenwich fertility is disorganized and I would worry about their ability to be on top of everything in an IVF cycle (I only did IUI)...I was extremely dissatisfied with Dr. Miller's care and would strongly urge against seeing her...

I was extremely dissatisfied with Dr. Miller's care and would strongly urge against seeing her. Dr. She later admitted that she had never dealt with retained tissue before- i know there is risk of retained tissue after any d&c but having to have 3 procedures after 1 miscarriage is unheard of and unacceptable. It is an issue I am still dealing with today 3 years later because of her incompetence. I would strongly advise against seeing Dr. Miller - I do not have confidence she would be able to handle anything outside of a straightforward case.
What's one piece of advice would you give a prospective patient of Nora Miller at Greenwich Fertility and IVF Center?
Ask how comfortable/familiar she is with your specific situation/procedure before proceeding but honestly would steer clear

Estrogen patch protocol [with Dr. Barry Witt] due to my lower reserve...Transferred 2 embryos with resulted In a healthy twin pregnancy and delivery...I recommend him to anyone having fertility problems...is an amazing doctor. I had underwent multiple iui cycles and ivf cycles with a different doctor with absolutely zero success. Dr Witt is honest, smart and extremely Straight forward and an overall wonderful doctor. He immediately put me on medicine for my thyroid (which had also been tested multiple times with a different doctor)
I truly thought I would never become a Mother, and Greenwich changed this all for me...All the doctors and nurses I interacted with were kind, patient and very knowledgeable. No weakness only all positives...Front desk and nursing staff all knew name upon entering the office. Wonderful group of people who Made a not so great situation of going through fertility treatments a little easier...All of the nursing staff were top notch, I had zero complaints. However Kathy always went above and beyond to answer and questions and was just an overall amazing person and nurse.

Greenwich Fertility makes dreams comes true! After so many failures at one of the larger clinics in CT I truly thought I would never become a Mother, and Greenwich changed this all for me. He [Dr. Barry Witt] was very engaged with my treatment - I had the best experience working with him and everyone at Greenwich Fertility. He would explain things clearly and seemed really invested in making sure we got the best possible results...is an absolute pro!! I honestly felt from day one that I was in the BEST of hands with him...He came highly recommended from my OB/GYN and he did not disappoint. He is top of his game New Patient Advice
I can't say a bad thing about this clinic [Greenwich Fertility and IVF Center]...Nobody likes to get bloodwork done, but Alaina and Lily make you feel like their sister and are SO GOOD at what they do. The clinic's ability to get the best job done while maintaining a warm and supportive environment is truly what they excel at...I can't tell you how much I adore Kathy [nurse]. This was such a tough process for anyone to go through, and I don't think I would've gotten through it without her compassion, her leadership and her dedication. She is absolutely amazing.

Success w/ Doc Too early to know
Dr Witt and his staff are amazing. I have confidence he will help me reach the end goal of becoming a mom...Be completely open minded and he gives you information straight, no sugar coating but that is necessary giving what your doing...
So far so good [Greenwich Fertility and IVF Center]. I’m confident I will have an excellent experience working with this office. When I needed to reschedule my location, it was super easy and no hassle. Again, I am new to the office and I haven’t had any issues this far...So warm and welcoming. Even when I thought I was being a bother, they always tell me I’m not. I’m also working with the genetic counselor and she emails me often and is SO helpful

Dr. Witt spent as much time with me as I needed. Always answered any questions, calming my nerves, comforting me during what can be a difficult journey...He was always very clear and never left any questions uncovered. He was direct and to the point, but always with a comforting, warm smile. He is the reason my dream of having a family is now very much a reality. Two babies later my dreams have come true and I owe it all to Dr. Witt and his entire team. We are forever grateful for his guidance and care throughout the IUI and later, IVF process.
Kathy [nurse at Greenwich Fertility and IVF Center] was nothing short of amazing. She was always there to talk me through every step of the process, answering EVERY questions whether in person, on the phone, or even via email...This clinic is nothing short of amazing. From the women at the reception desk, billing, to clinicians drawing blood, nurses, Dr. Witt....I had a WONDERFUL experience with every single one of them at every visit. Everyone was there to help, ease any anxiety, answer questions and simply be there for you.

She [Dr. Anate Aelion Brauer] definitely preferred to transfer one embryo vs 2 but due to my quality she was comfortable transferring two...She was very delicate when discussing our plan. She hugged us during both the happy and sad times. I felt like she was on this journey with us...she is very clear with her explanations of what to expect and we worked as a team to come up with a plan that everyone was comfortable with. I cannot think of anything negative to say about her. I thought she was so great that we went to her again for baby #2
The clinic [Greenwich Fertility and IVF Center] is very clean and all of the staff is very responsive. I was comfortable seeing other doctors when Dr. Brauer was not there. Everyone was very friendly. I had an issue with payment and my insurance and they didn’t harass me about paying. I like that there are multiple offices so that you could follow your doctor depending on their schedule...She [Dr. Anate Aelion Brauer] definitely preferred to transfer one embryo vs 2 but due to my quality she was comfortable transferring two...She was very delicate when discussing our plan. Dr. Meyer was kind, trustworthy and patient with all of our questions. She never treated me like I was just a number. She actually seemed to care if we had a set back and she showed excitement when we became pregnant....has a strong recommendation to transfer only one embryo instead of multiple because of health risks for the multiples...She called me after I gave birth and asked that we bring our daughter to the office so she can meet her. If I had to go through fertility treatments all over again I would see Dr. Meyer without a doubt.
From the first day that my husband and I walked in the office [at Greenwich Fertility and IVF Center], the staff knew us by name. We didn’t feel like a number and felt like we were important to them. I can’t say a negative comment about the staff. They made a difficult situation bearable...Elissa [nurse] would call me to review our apt, review medications and ask if I had any questions. She actually gave me her personal cell phone number to call her while she was on vacation if I had any questions. She made a challenging experience special by being so thoughtful.

I would highly recommend Dr. Meyer to family and or friends. She is a fabulous doctor who proceeds with respect for her patients and for the human body. I would without hesitation go back to her for future fertility treatments...I always felt that she worked within my level of comfort and preferences while guiding me to facilitate the best outcome...appropriately weighed risks and advised on SET...always took time to explain everything thoroughly and to answer any questions you had. Never felt rushed and always felt like she was most interested in ensuring you were comfortable and well informed.
[The nurses at Greenwich Fertility and IVF Center are] Very organized and detailed, compassionate and always followed up diligently...Strengths - staff and doctors are caring and wonderful people. You never feel like you are a number. Strengths - several locations, so you go where it is most convenient for you on the day. Early appointment times which was great, so you could minimize time lost from work. Weaknesses - none that I can think of beyond sometimes (not often) long wait times, but that seems common with medical practices in general.

Describe the protocols Laura Meyer used in your cycles at Greenwich Fertility and IVF Center and their degree of success.
I was diagnosed with unexplained infertility, so Dr. Meyer recommended a progressive approach. Tried IUI, was unsuccessful, then proceeded to IVF. Did two retrievals before transfer and I am currently carrying an active and healthy pregnancy. When I requested to proceed with the transfer without additional hormones, Dr. Meyer was respectful of that. I always felt that she worked within my level of comfort and preferences while guiding me to facilitate the best outcome.
