Dr Slater was highly recommended to me. After my first visit I can see why. She was really sincere and caring. She took time to get to know us. And even though after 3 IUI's we did not have a baby. I do not blame her. It was my body and not my time. Dr Slater has a great bed side manner and I would highly recommend her to anyone TTC.

You can definitely trust that she has your best interest in mind.

He is very informative let me know what to expect and how to get there I barely started seeing him as of this month of June 2022 so at this point I have not much experience as a patient with him I do expect that he will be a great fit with my journey.

He’s a great communicator. Very thorough and clear. He shared his personal experience and that was comforting and helpful. He kept our spirits up, even when we felt discouraged. We always looked forward to seeing him and we trust his advice.

To listen carefully to all options he presents with an open mind

Dr. Slater was candid in manner, and I felt heard. We do not understand why my results were as they were. Looking at alternative options. She met with me a couple times and did one IUI that proved to be complicated.

I needed meds every round for egg growth.

I had no insurance coverage, so paid out of pocket. They worked with me some, based on salary.

Dr. Tobler is very professional. With something as expensive and medically invasive as IVF, the most reassuring doctor would be someone who is experienced and knowledgeable about their field. Dr. Tobler was precise in his care, made adjustments as needed, and comforted me through obstacles with his medical knowledge and experience. Having a Day 7 blastocyst transferred was nerve racking. But, Dr. Tobler had experience with these blastocysts and shared with me his success rates. This brought my anxiety way down and allowed me to have a little faith. I am glad I did, because I am currently beginning my second trimester!

Don't be afraid to ask questions. I am sometimes intimidated by doctors and don't wish to take up their time, but Dr. Tobler is a great communicator and makes you feel validated for your questions and concerns.

Unfortunately, my egg retrieval cycle was a long time ago, so I don't remember my medications and dosages. For my embryo transfer, we approached it with the standard injectable medications of progesterone in oil and estradiol. I started on 1 mL of progesterone and 0.15 mL of estradiol. As they were monitoring my progesterone levels, it became apparent that I needed to increase my dosage (despite the fact that I have a low BMI). For most of my cycle, I was on 2 mL of progesterone. In addition, I had progesterone suppositories that I began using after the transfer.

Approximately $25,000 all-in cost.

I didn't have an option - I only had one viable embryo!

At our first consultation, she gave us a total overview of what to expect throughout the whole process and answered our list of questions. She laid out what she thought was the best course of action for our situation and what kind of results we should be looking at based on the information we had. She then asked if we wanted to proceed that day with the first tests (water ultrasound and bloodwork) which was nice so we didn't have to schedule another appt for that (we live 30 min away). I then saw her for the egg retrieval and though she expressed her hope for a healthy embryo, she answered all my questions on starting a new IVF cycle (which we did). Saw her the second egg retrieval and then the embryo transfer. Overall I didn't see her often but I was glad she was there for every important procedure and I felt comfortable the rest of the time with her staff.

From the day I called about a consultation to the consultation itself was 2 months and another 2 months to start our first round of IVF, so be prepared to wait and be patient because the experience is worth it.

Our complications included a sperm blockage and low ovarian reserve (VERY low). We knew going in we would be going straight to IVF. While I was originally estimated to have an egg retrieval of about 8, after the diagnosis it was dropped down to between 0-2. During each IVF cycle, the follicle count was reviewed and the medications were altered if needed. The first cycle had 2 eggs which resulted in one abnormal embryo which she encouraged us not to use and we completely agreed (though the choice was ultimately ours). She altered the medication dosage for the second IVF cycle in hopes of better results. The blood tests/follicles were better overall the second time yet still resulted with again 2 eggs but one good embryo! I was then put on meds to start the FET process which resulted in a successful transfer.

Our grand total for 2 IVF cycles, PGT testing, and FET cycle was around $24k. This included about $8k total in meds for all cycles, $9200 for IVF, $2300 for FET, $900 for genetic testing, and the rest included lab work, anesthesia, and other procedures not included in the cycles.

We only ever had one embryo, so the topic never even came up.

Dr Maas’ strengths were that I always felt heard by him. He would really listen when I was explaining what we had been through and took my decisions into consideration regarding treatment. The hardest part of being his patient was that I knew he was popular, so we only saw him for embryo transfers and my biopsies.

Go in honestly, listen to Dr Maas, and ask a lot of questions. He’s very knowledgeable and helpful when IUIs and IVF can be very intimidating at first.

We started with IUIs using donor sperm and Letrozole. Then we changed to Clomid. We then added in injectable’s, but after 4 IUIs nothing was working, so he recommended IVF. We did an antagonist protocol and I felt Dr Maas was very aggressive with the medications, which I appreciated since this was our only shot at an egg retrieval. After our egg retrieval we did a fresh transfer, which failed after I started bleeding 4 days after. He had me come in and start injectable progesterone to try and see if we could keep the baby but it was too late. We then did a FET with 2 embryos that failed, so Dr Maas recommended a full work up of testing. We did an ERA, receptiva, and EMMA/ALICE biopsies, which told us that I needed 24 hours more of progesterone. Once we did that, Dr Maas let me transfer another 2 embryos and now I’m pregnant with twins!

IUIs we paid out of pocket- around $9,000. IVF we had Progyny insurance, so all we had to pay for was my biopsies which were $2,000.

Dr Maas let me choose while also giving me guidance and letting me know the risks. I’m so happy that we decided to transfer 2 since now I’m pregnant with boy/girl twins!

Great communicator and always very responsive. He gave me hope that we would conceive and he also adjusted my treatment when he saw an opportunity. I was very pleased with how thorough and efficient him and his office staff were.

Go in with an open mind and listen to the advice of the doctor.

We initially started with the thought of doing three rounds of IUI treatment. After our second IUI Treatment failed, we were preparing for our last one. He adjusted my medication slightly which in turn I ended up responding so well as I had many follicles. We decided to convert to an IVF cycle at a reduced cost. I ended up pregnant from that cycle with my twins.

Because we covered my IUI cycle to IVF due to me responding so well to the drug change, I was able to do the IVF at half the cost of a regular cycle. I believe everything including ultrasound, retrieval, and IVF cycle cost approximately $4800 which was wonderful and affordable due to the discount.

He went through the risks of multiple embryo transfers and due to my age we decided to transfer the two embryos.

I was beyond impressed with Dr. Maas. In our first appointment he explained that IVF would give us the best chances of a pregnancy. I wasn't emotionally ready and he didn't push me. After multiple rounds of IUI I was ready to do IVF. I had gotten accepted to a study which was then delayed by COVID. When the study finally opened up again I ended up getting a cyst which disqualified me. Dr. Maas offered me a significant discount for his services for a standard round of IVF. Unfortunately, there were some unforeseen setbacks during the egg retrieval resulting in fewer eggs than expected. Dr. Maas was optimistic about the eggs that we did obtain, but also assured us that he would offer an even better discount if the results were unsatisfactory. By the grace of God, we ended up with six embryos, two of which were transferred. I am beyond excited to share that I am currently 12 weeks pregnant with a single baby. Dr. Maas is an excellent provider and I would recommend him to anyone going through fertility treatment.

Trust his advice! If I had listened when he originally recommended IVF I would have saved thousands of dollars and a lot of time. He genuinely knows his stuff!

It was quite costly. Each round of IUI was approximately $2,000 including meds. IVF and FET ended up costing approximately $15,000 including meds and with a discount from Dr. Maas.

Dr. Maas did explain the options for embryo transfer, including the number her recommends and whether testing is advised. He shared that because of our ages testing wasn't a must. Because we didn't do testing we transferred two embryos, knowing the potential risks involved.

Dr. Slater was very kind to us. It's obvious she's very smart and she did seem to focus on the percentages/figures quite a bit and spoke somewhat fast. We weren't as interested in the percentages, but more interested in the procedures and the potential for pregnancy, which, I get it - can't really be explained or thoroughly put out there without a bunch of average figures from other patients/studies. I appreciate it when she shares little bits of her life with us when we exchange the cultural greeting of, "Hello, how are you?" "I'm fine, how are you?" etc, etc. My ultimate goal at the fertility clinic is pregnancy, however, I sure do want to get to know the people who are on my team and not just treat them like providers, but friends on the journey with me; people I won't forget. I think that providers have a tendency to assume patients don't want to hear about their lives during an appointment because we've struggled with creating a culture of "me" "me" "me" all around us. At any rate, I appreciate the little tidbits of life that are shared and I appreciate Dr. Slater listening to us, too. :)

Be prepared to hear her list off percentages, which isn't a bad thing. But don't be shy to just ask about the process instead.

Each cycle (including meds, USs) of FET came to about $5000.00.

Dr. Slater did tell us that our chances of pregnancy would go up with a MET, which was totally cool with us. The more the merrier. She was encouraging of that as she, like us, wants a positive pregnancy test for us.

Kevin Maas is a wonderful doctor. He was always positive about the final outcome even when we had minor setbacks. He was willing to work with us financially and understands first hand what people with fertility issues are going through. It is bittersweet to move on to a regular OB for the remainder of our pregnancy. We plan to visit the office when we have the baby.

Start early, don't get the impression that as soon as you try the first thing, you will get pregnant. Don't do research online. Always expect to pay more than expected, and don't waste too much time/money on IUI's.

All I remember is using the additional HGH in my last egg collection and that is what was needed to get a better group of eggs.

The costs for fertility treatments is ridiculous, even with insurance. Last year alone I spent about $30,000 on treatments. The price of the medication is the worst.

I did multiple but only ended up in 1 pregnancy. I was aware of the risks and Kevin comforted me when we ended up without twins.

Dr. Maas went above and beyond for us. We live out of state, so for embryo transfer to our surrogate, he Facetimed us and sent pictures to us afterwards. He also called to let us know how everything went. He has always been quick to respond to emails and questions we have. He has shared his own story with us and he just makes you feel so comfortable and like a close family friend.

Ask him all your questions and trust him, even if it isn't what you want to hear. He is open and honest and has so much experience in what he does.

I was on Menopure, HMG, Gonal-F, and Follistrum for egg retrieval. Our surrogate was on progestrone and estradiol for transfers. We were both on birth control prior to med start.

For our initial egg retrieval and fresh embryo transfer in 2018 we payed $12,379 plus the cost of meds for myself and our surrogate. In 2020 for our transfer to our surrogate we paid $5,220 plus the cost of meds.

Dr. Maas is very honest with which option he suggests and why. With our first transfer, we did a Fresh double embryo transfer because we did not test our embryos and I was just a few months shy of 40. We were blessed in that both took and we had healthy twin boys. For our sibling journey, Dr. Maas was willing to do SET or DET and left the decision to us and our surrogate. We decided on SET and that also took and we had a beautiful, healthy daughter. We had lots of questions both times, in trying to decide what was the best process for us. Dr. Maas gave us the statistics but kept emphasizing that for statistics there are those that are more successful and those that are less successful.

she is very thorough and knowledgeable. She is caring and compassionate towards her patients. She Is dedicated to her patients and determined to keep patients safe through this process. You can tell that she is passionate about her work and is focused on trying everything possible to successfully meet every patients want and need.

Trust in her and the process of fertility. It may seem like an emotional roller coaster, but their are many roads you can go down to have a family. It just takes time

After a failed transfer, I really wanted to transfer multiple embryos the next time. I was very grateful that Dr. Slater advised me to stick with a single embryo due to delivering at 33 weeks with my first pregnancy. We went with a single embryo that was successful. I had a difficult pregnancy and would have delivered at 25 weeks if I was carrying multiples.

Dr. Maas is a caring, relatable doctor. He is friendly but extremely knowledgeable and thorough in his explanations. He explains procedures as well as risks. He updates his statistics when appropriate to reflect the latest data.

The world of infertility is complicated. Learn as much as you can about the basics beforehand so you know what questions to ask and so you understand the answers you get.

I had a long stim retrieval due to my age (then 41). Dr. Maas was willing to do a second retrieval but we chose to go to donor eggs instead.

Between 1 retrieval, 1 shared donor cycle, meds, and 4 FETs, I suspect we spent about $50k

Dr Maas is a proponent of single embryo transfers.

He was the reason we chose to go the route we did and I’m forever grateful. He talked us through concerns and shared his own journey. The nurses spoke highly of him. I fully trusted his plan for Us and I’m so glad I did.

He doesn’t talk like a doctor (very personable and speaks about complex things in a way you can understand), but he knows his stuff.

He gave us honest odds that led us to make a decision on our treatment. He decided based on my medical history not to use medication even though we asked for it. He was certain we didn’t need it. He was right.

Costs were hard in a state where fertility isn’t covered. They were helpful with explaining payment. I think our unmedicated IUI procedure was less than $1000

We didn’t do embryo transfer

Dr. Tobler always gave us every option and let us decide on what our course of action was. If he didn’t agree he’d respectfully explain why he didn’t agree and if we still wanted to go the course we chose he gave us the option to continue.

Keep in mind that things change and he’s going to give you the best options and chances even if it doesn’t go with what you had in mind

We did repeat hsg, saline sonograms, and then exploratory surgery to see if my tube could be repaired.

I only met Dr. Slater herself a couple of times but each time I did, she always thoroughly explained what was happening and never made me feel like I couldn’t ask questions no matter how “dumb” they may have been.

My insurance covered 15K flat. I paid roughly 20K out of pocket

Dr. Slater preferred to transfer 1 embryo over 2 but I was adamant on 2. I was given a 65% chance of having a successful pregnancy if I transferred one. That chance increased to 80% if I transferred 2. The chance of both taking was 30%. Both took! I did end up delivering at 29 weeks gestation. Twin pregnancies come with many risks of complications which is why Dr. Slater preferred to only transfer one, but at the end of the day, it was my choice and I did feel like dr. Slater still supported me.

Dr. Maas was amazing. We felt so lucky to be paired with him. After our first appointment for the initial consultation, it just felt right. And when he told us we were only candidates for IVF and nothing else, I was glad it was him because he has both a great “bedside manner” and is also extremely professional.

He really loves what he does and loves to teach along the way so ask him any questions you can think of.

I think the biggest one I remember was his counseling on using just one embryo at a time. I appreciated his honesty and expertise on the matter and it made it easier to make the choice. Truthfully it’s been long enough since doing both our fresh and frozen transfer that I don’t remember too many specifics. I trusted him and his staff with the treatment plan lined out for me at the time of each transfer and both transfers were successful!

Overall between our egg retrieval, fresh transfer and frozen transfer (including meds) we spent about $25000

He had a strong preference on using 1 embryo in our transfers and I’m thankful we followed his advice. Our fresh embryo transfer resulted in one healthy baby girl and our frozen transfer of just one embryo resulted in identical twins. I think if you are working with high grade embryos it makes sense to transfer one so you don’t risk multiples as much. Multiple pregnancies are high risk and have a higher chance of problems for the babies or the mothers or both.

Kevin Maas was amazing and explaining what meds do what and why I need to take them along with what is happening with my body. He is very thorough in making sure you understand the risks and possibilities with going through the iui.

Be open minded and make sure you ask all your questions and concerns.

He suggested I try 3 rounds of iui and to take clomid and trigger shot to ovulate. This current round I am no he has me starting progesterone. I am on round 2 currently.

I had a water sonogram that was covered by insurance and blood work that was covered. I also had meds that are not covered but did apply for assistance and got it so I pay 50% of the teigger shot. Pay fully out of pocket for folical sonogram and iui day.
