We went to ICSI IVF due to MFI. We had failed IUI's, which was expected and basically to appease insurance. IVF was a success, 5 embryos total, 1 transferred for my first pregnancy resulting in a live birth, and he performed an FET for my second (one embryo) resulting in a current pregnancy.

Due to my age and no female factors, he only gave us the option to transfer one.

Dr. Tur-Kaspa reassured me that he would get us pregnant. He was always very upbeat on the days of transfer which made me feel more at ease of the process. I was able to speak to him candidly about my concerns and he listened and did what I wanted. He never told us no.

Be an advocate for yourself, he will listen to what you want.

The monitoring is done as a first come first serve basis. In order to be seen quickly you should be there as early as 6:20 to be 1st through 3rd in line so you can get to work on time.

My insurance covered all major procedures ( BCBS). I paid a co pay to talk to the dr. and when I had transfers and retrievals or any other surgery.

Dr. Cohen is extremely caring with his patients, always set reasonable expectations, and is accessible to his patients. I learned more from one consult with him that 7 months with another doctor.

Email him and ask lots of questions. Let him know what concerns you are secretly researching online so he can help you with research and answers.

He has an amazing bedside manner. The rest of the office is a mess.

I came to IHR after going to another clinic. IHR is a small clinic so the staff and doctor really get to know you as we person. Dr. Tu Kaspa was direct, humorous and very uplifting. I would definitely recommend using IHR if you are struggling with infertility.

Wood-Molo was on time to our first consultation. Although it was remote this actually worked better for my work schedule. Before any new procedure we would have a consultation and go over treatment together. She was available to chat about concerns and she was so hopeful saying things like “I will get you pregnant” and “you’ll be a great mom”

Know how aggressive you want to be with fertility treatments

IHR was a center of excellence so insurance liked them more than other places. I maxed out my benefits after 5 IUI, 1 egg retinal and 2 FETs

Would only transfer one embryo during a cycle. Did not want to increase the risks of multiple births

I am writing this review as my six week old baby boy is napping in his bassinet. My fertility journey started off at a large and prestigious fertility clinic here in Chicago. I did one round of IVF at the fertility clinic on a maximum stimulation protocol. My hopes were dashed when the cycle failed miserably. I did not know where to go from there. The cycle was so unsuccessful that the doctor started talking about egg donors. I was crushed. I then heard about Dr. Tur Kaspa and decided to switch to his fertility clinic. I met Dr. Tur Kaspa and hope was ignited again. Low AMH did not scare off Dr. Tur Kaspa. A previously failed cycle did not scare off Dr. Tur Kaspa. Dr. Tur Kaspa practices individualized medicine and created a protocol specific to me and my fertility needs. I can never thank Dr. Tur Kaspa enough for reigniting hope and pushing forward until our dream came true.

Dr. Tur Kaspa recommends single embryo transfer

We traveled to IHR from out of state after an unsuccessful experience at a local, well respected clinic. Dr Tur-Kaspa had new ideas and offered tests and treatment that were never mentioned by our local doctor. We were successful on the first try at IHR, and again on the second try. The doctors, clinical/office staff, and the lab are all top notch.

When it comes to fertility care, you want the best. We wasted a lot of time and money at our local clinic and wish we would have seen Dr. Tur-Kaspa sooner.

Dr. Tur-Kaspa suggested a different protocol which greatly improved our outcome. He also suggested the ERA test which showed the need for an adjustment in progesterone.

Dr Tur Kaspa knows reproductive medicine and personalized my treatment based on our story. He is very personal and we felt very comfortable from the beginning. He Listens to us. He gave us the right dose from the beggining. I know we wouldn’t have gotten pregnant and had 4 extra healthy embryos if it wouldn’t be for Dr Tur Kaspa. The other clicnic we visited FCI was a waste. Terrible service and left the place -after 8 months- without a single embryo and a big bill

He’s very detailed, tries to make you feel comfortable. Will answer your questions. I’m a black woman and have been weary of medical bias and racism. The office is diverse and I never felt uncomfortable or made to feel different. In addition, I was pursuing motherhood on my own (using a sperm donor), and Dr. Tur Kaspa was very supportive of that. I felt like my treatment plan was very individualized and ended up being a success. I had 2 egg freezing cycles then came back and had 2FET’s. First was chemical, second resulted in a pregnancy.

You can trust him to have your best interest in mind. Feel free to ask as many questions as you have. I would text the nurses if I had questions and they would follow-up with him as needed. I will say, when you do your labs or ultrasound, he will not be there but he reviews all the results and determines your next steps. So while there were times where I wasn’t interacting with him directly, I felt like he was still involved in my treatment plan.

Hard to remember but there were cases where my dosages were adjusted because my lining wasn’t progressing as desired. I did end up having 2 successful egg retrievals at age 33 that resulted in 15 eggs frozen in each cycle, for a total of 30. Funny enough, that was the goal! My first FET was a chemical and the second successful transfer did have a tweak in the dosage. All this to say that the treatment is very dynamic and individualized based on progress and prior results (if applicable).

Since I did PGTA testing to determine the Euploid embryos, Dr. Tur-Kaspa recommended I transfer one. He gave me the option of selecting the gender and he selected the best graded euploid embyro based on the gender. He also explained the risks associated with transferring multiple embryos (for mom and babies).

After two years of unsuccessful attempts at getting pregnant at a large Chicago fertility clinic, I sought out opinions from 3 of the top fertility doctors in Chicago with Dr Tur Kaspa being one of them. All the doctors pointed out the mistakes that had been made in my prior treatments. I asked each doctor about the protocol they would use for me. Dr Tur Kaspa was the only one out of the three other doctors that I saw that offered at different viewpoint and protocol. Since I had been doing the same thing for 2 years, I felt it was time to try a new approach and therefore selected Dr. Tur Kaspa. Everything transpired exactly as he indicated. He did a ERA test before my transfer which showed I needed an extra day of progesterone. While this was not covered by my insurance, I feel like this test (which no one doctor mentioned) resulted in my successful implantation along with the protocol Dr. Tur Kaspa prescribed. I found Dr Tur Kaspa to be compassionate and caring doctor who above all took a personal interest in me as a patient.

Do your research, get multiple opinions and ask each doctor what the best course of action is for you to compare and contrast.

Because I have a high ovarian reserve, Dr Tur Kaspa used low dosage of follistum . His goal was to retrieve 15-20 higher quality eggs per cycle. My prior doctor retrieved 30+ eggs in each cycle which resulted in ovarian hyperstimulation. Dr. Tur Kaspa did a ERA test before my transfer to check my lining. This test showed I needed an extra day of progesterone before transfer.

Monitoring was really easy due to the small nature of the clinic. I would usually be out of there in <15 minutes. Ultrasound and lab professionals are really really great.

My treatments were covered by insurance however I had reached my lifetime medication cap prior to seeing Dr. Tur Kaspa therefore had to pay out of pocket for medications. I had to pay out of pocket ($900) for ERA test. I highly highly recommend this test.

Absolutely a great place to be. All staff are helpful and treated you like family. Dr. Tur-Kaspa was amazing. As a patient of his he gave us hope every step of the way. Doing IVF is not so easy to experience, we had done 3 or 4 rounds of IVF and the last we finally had our miracle baby.

Have faith in your doctor. If it doesn't work the first time try again. He will find a way to make it happen. Never lose hope there are always options available. Dr. Ilan Tur-Kaspa will find the best options for you under his care.

It was efficient and well-run clinic

Depending upon your insurance, your insurance coverage will cover a portion of the cost and the rest was out of pocket or you have the option to take a loan option available to pay for the remaining cost. Sorry, I don't have the specifics as it was done a while ago. But they will let you know step by step what needs to be done before doing the cycle or procedure.

Dr TurKaspa is a great man. His bedside manner was extraordinary and he was always kind. He has a great sense of humor and I appreciated that at such a difficult, stressful time. We met with three doctors and went with him first. Both my husband and I left our first consult and felt like he was the best fit. What we didn't know, being first time infertility patients, was that you rarely see the doctor. While it's extremely important to like the doctor, it's equally if not more important to like the nursing staff

We did a clinic cycle first with double iui's, then an I medicated cycle with trigger, iui's, and progesterone

He has a very blunt personality, but he tells you what you need to know and thoroughly explains in an appropriate manner. He explained when and where we needed to get tests done, gave us a complete schedule and options for future treatment.

For us, he recommended repeat imaging and lab tests at the beginning of our cycle. Collection of eggs with either freezing of the embryos and then implantation or immediate embryo implantation and have reasons as to why for both.
