Attention to Detail
Attention to detail is on a 1 - 10 scale, and is scored based on the rate, and severity, of errors committed by the clinic according to the patients.
For example, a severe error might be failing to inform a patient of critical information, while a small error might be failing to call a patient with results.
CDC Success Rates
This is the most recent data from the CDC. The CDC cautions that it should not be used to compare doctors and clinics. This data represents the outcomes of IVF cycles when using a person's own eggs.
For more information please see our FAQs.
Where you see a “?” on the chart, a clinic has done fewer than 20 cycles in this category and age range, so the CDC says showing percentages from this small data set would be misleading and unreliable.
Dr. Reed is such a kind and compassionate doctor. She's smart and thinks outside the box. She doesn't group you with every other patient, but instead gives you an individual plan for you as a woman, and not what "usually" works...spent a lot of time at each appointment talking to me and reassuring me...She is a busy person, but never made me feel rushed. And I love she didn't order a bunch of unnecessary tests...
You do your retrieval / transfer at irving [IVFMD - Iriving] because that is where their lab is, but otherwise I tried making my appointments at Grapevine because that office was way more relaxing and inviting. I just felt more calm and less chaotic than the big irving office...the only thing I didnt love was you dont get updates often on your embroys. Those were the longest 7 days of my life! I wish I could have gotten more frequent updates so I know if they all survived...
How was your experience with Beverly Reed at IVFMD - Iriving (Fertility Specialist Network clinic)?
I came to Dr. Reed not super thrilled about seeing a fertility doctor. I had 2 kids that I got pregnant with with the help of some medications my OB/gyn prescribed. But this time the infertility was longer and I continued to have early miscarriages. So I took a leap and made an appointment with Dr. Reed. It was the best decision I've ever made! Dr. Reed is such a kind and compassionate doctor. She's smart and thinks outside the box. She doesn't group you with every other patient, but instead gives you an individual plan for you as a woman, and not what "usually" works. I found that is how so many offices in the DFW area worked- you are just a number- and I felt like I was part of a cattle call. Yall, this doctor is a GEM!! I had been seeing my ob gyn (who I love dearly) but infertility sucks and is so emotional. My Ob-gyn didn't provide me the same support Dr. Reed and her staff did and I'm so incredibly thankful for Dr. Reed and Eden. Dr Reed spent a lot of time at each appointment talking to me and reassuring me. I have only known her about a year now, but I feel like she's a friend. She never talks down to you. She's respectful of your wishes and desires. If I had a question (which I always did), she always made sure I understood. She is a busy person, but never made me feel rushed. And I love she didn't order a bunch of unnecessary tests. You can tell she's in it because she loves her job and wants to help everyone get their dream of holding a baby! One thing I will say is Dr. Reed is so incredibly nice so I wasnt sure if she is too nice to tell it like it is. Well I quickly found out she is very nice but also VERY honest. If she doesnt think something will work, she will tell you. And I loved that about her! Also, another thing I love about this office is Dr Reed does all her own sonograms. She was the only doctor of the 4 I interviewed that performed her own sonograms. And you get to see HER at each appointment. If you're just starting on the infertility journey, let me tell you: This is HUGE!! I needed to know immediately what everything meant vs waiting for a doctor to review the sonograms at the end of the day and then you hear from a nurse what you're supposed to do. I am an anxious person and I needed the personalized care and attention Dr. Reed gave to me!
What's one piece of advice would you give a prospective patient of Beverly Reed at IVFMD - Iriving (Fertility Specialist Network clinic)?
Ask questions! She will answer them to the best of her knowledge! Tell her how you're feeling- she will also help you with that. I am/was a very anxious person and she would go out of her way to make me feel less anxious.
During treatment, were you treated like a number or a human with Beverly Reed at IVFMD - Iriving (Fertility Specialist Network clinic)?
Dr. Reed always took her time with me. I looked forward to my appointments with her. I have been a patient of hers for a year and she got to know me, asked me about my job, and seemed to care so much about me as a person. She always took a lot of time with me. I am an anxious person and loved that she always made me feel better. I am a nurse and rarely see doctors so kind and compassionate as Dr. Reed is. The whole office makes you feel like you're their only patient, which is great during such a stressful time! My nurse, Eden, was so incredible. I had her email and literally emailed her daily with random questions and she always responded like I was her only patient.
Describe the protocols Beverly Reed used in your cycles at IVFMD - Iriving (Fertility Specialist Network clinic) and their degree of success.
menopur, clomid, trigger shot. I was a slow responder so she had me stim a few extra days, which I think added to my success
Describe your experience with your nurse at IVFMD - Iriving (Fertility Specialist Network clinic). (Assigned nurse: Eden)
Eden is who I was assigned to and she was/ is amazing!! I've never met a more compassionate, positive, and responsive nurse than her. Eden was by far my biggest cheerleader! Every step of the way she was always positive and encouraging when I wanted to throw in the towel and give up. She never once blew off any of my concerns and always responded to my emails several times a day and never seemed annoyed. She even encouraged me to email her. There were a few times she'd respond even after work at night or on the weekends, which I thought was incredible. Because lets be real- all the crazy stuff that you need help with happens on nights and weekends. Eden continually showed her dedication to her patients and its something that can be hard to find in doctor's offices these days. I am so thankful to go through infertility with Eden there by my side and to help me off the ledge a few times ;)
Describe your experience with IVFMD - Iriving (Fertility Specialist Network clinic).
The grapevine office is Dr. Reed's primary office and I preferred the grapevine office over the Irving office. You do your retrieval / transfer at irving because that is where their lab is, but otherwise I tried making my appointments at Grapevine because that office was way more relaxing and inviting. I just felt more calm and less chaotic than the big irving office. I also loved the person (kayla) at the front desk in grapevine. She always returned my calls if she was unable to answer. She was knowledgable and also very understanding. If you do IVF, the only thing I didnt love was you dont get updates often on your embroys. Those were the longest 7 days of my life! I wish I could have gotten more frequent updates so I know if they all survived or were all dead. I'm a pessimistic person, so I just assumed the worst all 7 days!
Describe the costs associated with your care under Beverly Reed at IVFMD - Iriving (Fertility Specialist Network clinic).
If you look on their website, they are very transparent with their costs. There are no added fees. You get what is posted. And I loved that! I think I paid around $10,800 for the clinic (not including meds). They have a global fee. I believe their prices went up recently, but it allows unlimited transfers for a year, which is a huge perk!
Describe Beverly Reed's approach to eSET (elective single embryo transfer) vs. multiple embryo transfer at IVFMD - Iriving (Fertility Specialist Network clinic).
I believe she prefers one if its genetically tested. I'm a NICU nurse and I 100% agree transferring one is the best for the mom and baby. I've seen too many people pregnant with twins that deliver at 23 or 24 weeks. It's so much work to get to be pregnant, why risk it with multiples if you can help it?
Dr. Reed was both up front and delicate when talking strategy with me. As a single mother by choice, this is something that is difficult already but doing it alone you need lots of guidance and someone who will provide you with all the information. I felt valued by her and her staff and that I was not just a number coming and going.
[IVFMD] Strengths: The clinic has 3 offices and 3 primary doctors. Dr. Reed had to attend a conference, so one of her colleagues was able to assist me during that time. They are open on the weekend. This is a plus if your cycle runs into the weekend. They are very accommodating with scheduling...Without Insurance: Transvaginal Ultrasounds $150 HSO Procedure $250 IUI $260

Ask questions. No question is dumb. The more you learn the more you are able to understand your body.
During treatment, were you treated like a number or a human with Beverly Reed at IVFMD - Iriving (Fertility Specialist Network clinic)?
Dr. Reed and her staff made me feel like a human and understood that all bodies are different and react differently to medication. She was cost conscious and able to come up with a plan that was in my best interest. She also was consistent with making sure we eliminated anything that would cause me not to become pregnant.
Describe the protocols Beverly Reed used in your cycles at IVFMD - Iriving (Fertility Specialist Network clinic) and their degree of success.
For the first IUI with Dr. Reed, she decided to try letrozole (7.5 mg for 5 days) and a steroid (10 days). We got 2 follicles, which is exactly what we wanted. The second IUI we upped the letrozole to 10mg for 5 days and did the steroid for 10. We also performed an HSO test to check my uterus to make sure there were no fibroids or anything blocking the egg implanting. We got another 2 follicles but faster. Currently waiting to see if I got the BFP.
Describe your experience with the nursing staff at IVFMD - Iriving (Fertility Specialist Network clinic).
The entire staff at Dr. Reeds was very helpful and knowledgeable. They answered my calls and questions. I had to have my sperm delivered and they kept me updated on delivery.

Dr. Reed answered all of my questions...She would take the time to draw things out or write out notes. Little things that just made sure I left her office in confidence...during our first sonogram where she found one of my ovaries wasn't producing well (I had had other sonograms, but nobody pointed this out) she knew what the exact answer was. Her confidence and optimism were priceless and such a relief to my husband and I.
Twice I had to call the after-hours emergency line [at IVFMD] to get help getting the prescriptions through since they were pertinent that I take them that evening. I tend to freak out when things don't go to plan, so I do wish I could have had a clearer line of communication. But all in all I think the nurses are doing a great job with everything they have on their plate.
How was your experience with Beverly Reed at IVFMD - Iriving (Fertility Specialist Network clinic)?
Dr. Reed gave me hope when nobody else had before. I was seeing a doctor in the city where I live who performed every infertility cause test and did one IUI on me. He never had an answer, nor did I feel like he cared. He acted like "just keep trying." But I knew deep down that something was wrong. I picked Dr. Reed after studying nearly all of the fertility doctors in the Dallas area. I had high hopes that she would be the one, and she proved me right during our first tele visit. She was confident from the start she knew what my problem was, and then during our first sonogram where she found one of my ovaries wasn't producing well (I had had other sonograms, but nobody pointed this out) she knew what the exact answer was. Her confidence and optimism were priceless and such a relief to my husband and I.
What's one piece of advice would you give a prospective patient of Beverly Reed at IVFMD - Iriving (Fertility Specialist Network clinic)?
Do not wait to go see a fertility doctor. I kept waiting because people told me "oh, it'll happen". I knew deep down something was wrong, and I wish I'd gone to Dr. Reed even sooner. Just go!
During treatment, were you treated like a number or a human with Beverly Reed at IVFMD - Iriving (Fertility Specialist Network clinic)?
Dr. Reed answered all of my questions. No matter how silly they seem in hindsight, she recognized that it was a concern of mine at the time. She would take the time to draw things out or write out notes. Little things that just made sure I left her office in confidence. My biggest concern was always that I would mess up in some way, but Dr. Reed was patient and understanding. I felt like I got to know a bit about her and she got to know a bit about me. This was important to me, because this is a very emotional and intimate process. I felt like she was really there for me.
Describe the protocols Beverly Reed used in your cycles at IVFMD - Iriving (Fertility Specialist Network clinic) and their degree of success.
After finding I had low reserve, Dr. Reed was confident we could achieve pregnancy with an IUI. She put me on 250mg of Clomid, I did a trigger shot 24 hours before the IUI procedure, and have followed up with taking progesterone vaginally every night since.
Describe your experience with the nursing staff at IVFMD - Iriving (Fertility Specialist Network clinic).
I didn't have a bad experience with anyone at IVFMD. We had several issues where my hometown pharmacy wasn't connecting well with IVFMD for whatever reason. So, there were a few times where my prescriptions didn't go through. Twice I had to call the after-hours emergency line to get help getting the prescriptions through since they were pertinent that I take them that evening. I tend to freak out when things don't go to plan, so I do wish I could have had a clearer line of communication. The clinic as a whole is great. The Grapevine location is beautiful with wonderful words of affirmation everywhere. I wish I would have gone to that location more as I often went to the Irving location!
Describe the costs associated with your care under Beverly Reed at IVFMD - Iriving (Fertility Specialist Network clinic).
It cost $180 to schedule my initial consultation. $150 for my first appointment with her, where I had a sonogram. $33 for my Clomid and $107 for my trigger shot. $250 for my HSO test (2nd visit). $150 for my third visit with a sonogram. $140 for my 4th visit and IUI. $120 to their lab for the semen washing. $107 for progesterone to last till my 11th week. Finally $150 for my final visit, a sonogram at 8 weeks.
Dr. Reed is very kind and has lots of enthusiasm and energy. She’s a very positive RE. We absolutely loved her attitude and had high hopes of success. We would choose Dr. Reed again! She has great bedside manner and is great at calming her patients with her sweet attitude...Estrogen priming for a week before cycle instead of birth control... Negative results. No eggs or money left to try again
The [ IVFMD- Grapevine] clinic is more cost effective than most we researched, but our insurance still wouldn’t cover anything. The office staff are kind and doctors are nice. I wish there had been a bit more clarity in some of the forms/results, but all in all its a great clinic...[nurse] Kristie is very kind. She listens and responds great to questions. There can be a small lag in emails, but she tries to reply as soon as she can.

Describe the protocols Beverly Reed used in your cycles at IVFMD - Iriving (Fertility Specialist Network clinic) and their degree of success.
Estrogen priming for a week before cycle instead of birth control. I only have 1 ovary (but great AFC) so we started Stims with 150 FSH and 75 menotropins. My follicles were slow to grow so we upped to 300 FSH and 150 menotropins. On day 8 we added cetrotide. I stimmed for 15 days and feel it was too long. At egg retrieval I had over 14 follicles 15-24mm in size, but only 2 eggs retrieved even after flushing. One egg was polyploid and dark. The embryo created with the good egg was a perfect 2 day Grade A transferred on day 2. Negative results. No eggs or money left to try again.
Our results blew us all away because they were so poor. All tests showed great follicles, etc.
very saddened and upon review I personally feel my eggs may have been affected by the long Stim time, but Dr. Reed thinks it may be poor egg quality.
I naturally conceived 2 living children and twice within the year before my ectopic pregnancy (9-23-19) took my only Fallopian tube, so I don’t believe I have poor egg quality.

She [Dr. Beverly Reed] was really straight forward with me but at the same time was still sensitive to my feelings and could understand how I was feeling. When it was time to actually start the procedure she made me feel that everything was going to be okay she would guide me through what ever she was doing to my body that I couldn’t see. ... I was on 50 mg of clomid to make my eggs bigger, and I was also on a medication for the hsg process or die test is another word used for hsg it that medication just was to help proven me from catching anything from the die test .

Describe Beverly Reed's approach to eSET (elective single embryo transfer) vs. multiple embryo transfer at IVFMD - Iriving (Fertility Specialist Network clinic).
Dr. Le has taken the time to talk to us and answer any questions or concerns that we have. We have a lot of fertility challenges- severe endometriosis and a very low egg reserve- and he has been great about adapting our protocol and treatment plan to meet our needs, even early on... he has discussed an aggressive protocol for us that will address egg quality over quantity. He explained that was important given my low egg reserve and my age (38). Currently, we go every menstrual cycle for an ultrasound to see if my body is ready to start IVF. Dr. Le has been very patient with my body and the time it is taking, as I am only about 3 months post-surgery.
I think [IVFMD - Irving] don’t do the best job of breaking down your specific protocol... specifics of what to do if my cycle started on a weekend and other general questions were not explained up front. Another thing is that they have not always been good about returning portal messages. They do return phone calls but not always the same day. Strengths: I would say they have good availability. I was able to get my initial consult within 2 weeks and then all following appointments have been very timely.

The nursing staff in-person has been great. I called once with some questions as we are new to the IVF process and one of the nurses told me that I was “overthinking” things, which I did not appreciate. However, all the rest of the nurses have been great and patient with us and treated us kindly.
Describe your experience with IVFMD - Iriving (Fertility Specialist Network clinic).
I think they don’t do the best job of breaking down your specific protocol. Describe the costs associated with your care under Sy Le at IVFMD - Iriving (Fertility Specialist Network clinic).
IVFMD has global pricing for IVF treatment, which I believe is $8,500. Other costs are additional, such as baseline ultrasounds (approximately $150), anesthesia, and medications.
Describe Sy Le's approach to eSET (elective single embryo transfer) vs. multiple embryo transfer at IVFMD - Iriving (Fertility Specialist Network clinic).
We have not gotten to that point in the process yet and haven’t had that discuss with him.
Dr Le is very positive. He tells me almost every appointment that my ovaries and eggs look great. He’s personable and talks to you about your treatment, but also asks about your life. He does look over your paper skirt to talk to your face when you’re up in stirrups which is funny but doesn’t bother me. I’d rather he talks to my face!..He only transfers one embryo at a time
[the IVFMD nurses] are usually very kind and informative, and don’t mind staying longer to answer any questions...Global IVF fee is $8,500 not including meds or genetic testing. I think anesthesiologist is a separate fee as well. Fees listed on website...Visits are usually quick, you don’t have to wait a long time. It’s convenient that they’re in the same building with a LabCorp. Staff is friendly. A weakness is their answering service, you have to press buttons for language, then listen to a whole shpiel before knowing which button to press for the front desk or nurses line.

He doesn’t seem to want to diagnose. I have cystic ovaries, and my previous Dr confirmed that I have PCOS, but Dr Le says I don’t. I know I do have it, so that’s a little strange. I’m not a typical case though.

Describe the protocols Sy Le used in your cycles at IVFMD - Iriving (Fertility Specialist Network clinic) and their degree of success.
I did 3 IUIs with letrozole and hcg trigger. I took less for cycles 2-3, since I reacted too well the first one. None ended with a pregnancy. I am currently in an IVF cycle, but haven’t started stims yet, just birth control
Describe your experience with your nurse at IVFMD - Iriving (Fertility Specialist Network clinic). (Assigned nurse: Tirza)
I have liked all the nurses until I was assigned the one I have now. They are usually very kind and informative, and don’t mind staying longer to answer any questions. We’re off to a rocky start with my current assigned coordinator. My lab work was lost, but she found it eventually. I was also not informed that I would bleed again during birth control priming before stims, so I was horrified when I started a heavy bleed. When I called her, I was brushed off as “we were expecting that”, when I mentioned that I was not informed about it, and was worried, a quick “sorry, but that’s normal”. It may be because I haven’t seen her in person yet, and we just need to smooth out the process.
Describe your experience with IVFMD - Iriving (Fertility Specialist Network clinic).
Visits are usually quick, you don’t have to wait a long time. It’s convenient that they’re in the same building with a LabCorp. Staff is friendly. A weakness is their answering service, you have to press buttons for language, then listen to a whole shpiel before knowing which button to press for the front desk or nurses line.

Global IVF fee is $8,500 not including meds or genetic testing. I think anesthesiologist is a separate fee as well. Fees listed on website

My lab results were unable to be found for a few days, but were found. Nothing critical
Dr Le was the first IVF doctor who did make me feel like a number. We moved from Chicago to Texas and I was heartbroken to even attempt trying IVF again. He was so genuine and empathetic and actually took the time to read my chart history completely. I literally am getting tearful writing this. I actually found him through your website and am SO grateful we gave it another chance!
The lab [at IVFMD] had not worked with the company we wanted to use for frozen eggs so it added a couple months to our timeline. Otherwise we had a great experience with the clinic and staff. I also really love that there is literally a sign on the office door that states “due to the sensitive nature of our office and clients children are not allowed in the waiting room.”...Primary nurse was wonderful! Very empathetic, quick to respond and helpful. There was another nurse we worked with on occasion that didn’t seem as caring or as organized. The rest of the staff was wonderful!
How was your experience with Sy Le at IVFMD - Iriving (Fertility Specialist Network clinic)?
Only issue we had was the frozen donor eggs we wanted had not worked with his office in the past. Due to this, the whole process was delayed several months. The facility we used for donor eggs had to train the staff in Dr Le’s lab before they could accept the eggs.
What's one piece of advice would you give a prospective patient of Sy Le at IVFMD - Iriving (Fertility Specialist Network clinic)?
Give him a chance. Even if our experience had been unsuccessful, I would have still been grateful we had the opportunity to work with him.

We originally thought IUI would be an option because our last doctor skipped everything and we immediately did 3 rounds of egg retrieval’s and then embryo transfers. No diagnosis was ever provided. Prior to meeting Dr Le I had laparoscopic surgery to diagnose endometriosis. Dr Le discussed options to do IUI, egg retrieval’s or donor eggs or donor embryos. IUI didn’t work because my tubes were sealed. So he helped us choose between frozen donor eggs or a fresh egg donor.

The last doctor I saw would have patients just pop by their office with babies to say “hi!” Nothing more heartbreaking than going in for your first appointment of the third IVF round after the first two failed.

Insurance covered the majority. They provide costs upfront and I believe they also list them online.
Describe Sy Le's approach to eSET (elective single embryo transfer) vs. multiple embryo transfer at IVFMD - Iriving (Fertility Specialist Network clinic).
We had genetic test done on the embryos and felt that due to the excellent quality we would only transfer one. And due to my age (40) there can be higher risks carrying twins.

A urine test had to be redone but this was due to a lab outside of their office
Doctor Reed was very nice and always listened. However when it came to talking about the results of the day or treatment she did it at a table in the hallway so that any of the nurses there or other patients walking by could hear and that was somewhat uncomfortable and sometimes felt rushed...Doctor Reed strongly advices single embryo transfer...letting me ask questions and really explaining things
Nurse Kristie [at IVFMD-Irving] was wonderful, she answered all of my questions. I would email her and she would respond the same day, even if it was after hours...The people are extremely friendly and there is a wonderful atmosphere when going for routine appointments however be prepared to discuss your treatment plan in the hallways or at a nurses station...I was not given Copies of any test results

Describe the protocols Beverly Reed used in your cycles at IVFMD - Iriving (Fertility Specialist Network clinic) and their degree of success.
The protocol i was given was Lipton for 2 -3 weeks, then I added 300 of gonal f and menaupor. They increased my menoupor after a week to double as I was “slow”. I took 1 week of antibiotics before the retrieval and an hcg 10000 trigger shot. My transfer was put on hold due to Covid19. There was no explanation of what each medication was however I was given individual instructions on how to take the medications.

Describe the costs associated with your care under Beverly Reed at IVFMD - Iriving (Fertility Specialist Network clinic).
Doctor Reeds office gives a global fee paid up front of $8500 plus the cost of medication. There were some additional testing costs that were explained up front. Dr Reed did her best to get medications at the best price by using multiple pharmacies and proving me with links to prescription grants/discounts. Total cost of medication came out to around $4500
Describe Beverly Reed's approach to eSET (elective single embryo transfer) vs. multiple embryo transfer at IVFMD - Iriving (Fertility Specialist Network clinic).

I felt when my egg retrieval happened after the first call I had to request a follow up at day 6 and 7 or they may not have done it. I also did not receive the results of any bloodwork done.
He [Dr. Le] made us feel like we were going to be parents with no issues at all. He answered every question we had with lots of detail. However, once we got further into treatment that wasn't working, we would ask to switch protocol and he would dismiss it. We felt like our treatment was feeling impersonal and communication between staff was insufficient. When I needed to see another doctor in the practice, none of them were aware of any prior treatment I've had with Dr. Le and vice versa. After a few failed IUIs, Dr. Le made it seem like we were wasting our time and I should have never begun that way. This was very confusing as he was so hopeful and positive in the beginning.
I was told conflicting information several times regarding the storage fees of donor sperm [at IVFMD]. After I thought I had it worked out, the fees were still outstanding with no notes in my chart to reflect otherwise. I was also uninformed that my specimen would be completely unavailable to take our of storage during COVID-19. I was scheduled for IVF at another clinic and had to buy more donor sperm as IVFMD would not ship my vial.

Make sure you advocate for yourself. Always restate things you think are important and "brief" him on your previous visit.
During treatment, were you treated like a number or a human with Sy Le at IVFMD - Iriving (Fertility Specialist Network clinic)?
The first few visits with Dr. Le were exciting. At every visit he explained things to us very thoroughly. However, after a few visits, he was explaining the same things to us as if we never heard them before. He would sometimes ask where I got certain testing done such as my HSG forgetting I've have all my testing done with him particularly. It started to feel very impersonal.
Describe the protocols Sy Le used in your cycles at IVFMD - Iriving (Fertility Specialist Network clinic) and their degree of success.
I started with 50mg of clomid and a trigger my first round of IUI. My lining suffered minimally with clomid (which I didn't find out until months later) Each time after that I was on Femara 2.5 then 7.5. I was also put on Gonal F for my 3rd round with no different reaction. My lining only suffered after I had my Hysteroscopy.
Describe your experience with the nursing staff at IVFMD - Iriving (Fertility Specialist Network clinic).
All nursing staff has been extremely kind and answered all of my questions. When you want to get a hold of them, you have to leave a message, but they always call back the same day.
Describe your experience with IVFMD - Iriving (Fertility Specialist Network clinic).
The Irving clinic has the typical "clinical feel". It's very clean a decent size with the lab attached to it. The Grapevine clinic run by Dr. Reed is much smaller with a much more comforting vibe. Each room is a different color with a cute little chaise, silk robe, in-scents, and a pillow.
Describe the costs associated with your care under Sy Le at IVFMD - Iriving (Fertility Specialist Network clinic).
I have no insurance coverage for fertility treatments. I paid $150 for each sono. I had to pay just my co pay for all meds except Gonal F which cost $400. I paid around $350 for my HSG, $300 for vial storage, and I had to pay completely out of pocket for my Hysteropscopy.

Doctor Le pretty much repeated him with the same speech in every consultation...He was way to conservative with the medication and didn’t seem to feel the urge for us to get pregnant...he was very adamant about doing a frozen single transfer, biopsy of the embryos...We feel we wasted a lot of time trying several IUIs which for a person with low ATM IFV would be the wisest way to go...
The [IVFMD] clinic is clean, presentable and well equipped. You have to wait for a long time to be seen by Doctor Le. Just be prepared to spend a big chunk of your day in the clinic. On Fridays the hours are until 2PM and on Saturdays only until 12PM. If you happen to go on Saturday you are most likely to be seems by [other doctors]..
How was your experience with Sy Le at IVFMD - Iriving (Fertility Specialist Network clinic)?
Dr. Le is indeed a good Doctor and I’m sure he was great for lots of couples. As for my husband and I, we didn’t feel he felt the urge to get us pregnant. He repeated himself a lot with the exact same words in every consultation which it didn’t give us confidence that he knew exactly what he was saying. We feel we wasted a lot of time trying several IUIs which for a person with low ATM IFV would be the wisest way to go. He also spoke about “scratching” my endometrium after a failed implementation. Wait, what? No time to waist here. We can’t keep on guessing what’s going to work due to the emotional and financial burden fertility treatment hits you with. Not cool at all. Overall just plain uncertainty during the entire treatment.
What's one piece of advice would you give a prospective patient of Sy Le at IVFMD - Iriving (Fertility Specialist Network clinic)?
Despite of everything Doctor Le is very sweet
During treatment, were you treated like a number or a human with Sy Le at IVFMD - Iriving (Fertility Specialist Network clinic)?
Doctor Le pretty much repeated him with the same speech in every consultation. He was way to conservative with the medication and didn’t seem to feel the urge for us to get pregnant. He kept saying: “You guys can even conceive naturally, did you know that?” Well, no couple would ended up in fertility clinic if they could conceive naturally. Nobody wants to go through the emotional and financial stress to have a baby. I just didn’t feel he was sympathetic enough
Describe the protocols Sy Le used in your cycles at IVFMD - Iriving (Fertility Specialist Network clinic) and their degree of success.
Well, as I mentioned before he did lots of IUIs and was very conservative with the hormone dosage specially for someone who has low ovarian reserve. My husband and I felt we wasted a lot of time
Describe your experience with your nurse at IVFMD - Iriving (Fertility Specialist Network clinic). (Assigned nurse: Kate Joeckel)
Kate was very cold and every time it seems that she had to take such an effort to be nice and sympathetic. I get that she sees lots of people everyday but that’s her job. She seemed to be very impatient when she had to repeat any explaining on how to proceed with the medications. It was our first time in a fertility clinic having to deal with a whole lot of unfamiliar medication, so every time my husband would email her to confirm if we were doing it correctly she would say: “I very thoroughly went over this with your wife.” I mean, Hello!” We just want to make sure we are not using the wrong dosage of Gonal-F which is really expensive. Anyways, I did not feel comfortable with her at all.

They do not see you on Sundays, despite of your treatment.
Describe Sy Le's approach to eSET (elective single embryo transfer) vs. multiple embryo transfer at IVFMD - Iriving (Fertility Specialist Network clinic).
Well, he was very adamant about doing a frozen single transfer, biopsy of the embryos (which now I know that the whole process of unfreezing and freezing again the embryos can be very damaging). Anyways, I would do a fresh transfer of 2 embryos
He [Dr. Sy Le] is conservative and does not recommend or side with multiples. Especially since I’m petite...was super patient and explained everything he was thinking of. I never felt that I was asking stupid questions or that he was in a rush. When your with him he truly gets after making sure you are being heard...He was very thorough in his explanations and saw me at every sonogram visit. He does everything himself so that he can be there for the patient and see the progress with his own eyes. He doesn’t necessarily remember everything you’ve told him but once he looks at your chart his memory is easily jogged. The only con is that sometimes the wait time is long bc he is being so attentive and thoughtful with each patient
Kate was great as were the rest of the nurses [at IVFMF]. It’s a small team. The billing supervisor BT is amazing. She knows all the charges and insurance needs inside and out. She’ll take the time to answer all of your questions...Cost here is very very reasonable for DFW area. I think it’s around $11k a cycle for the global fee (doesn’t include PGS testing)...Strengths: compassionate, attentive and knowledgeable team Weakness: Small team and therefore wait times can be long (up to 30min past appt time). They also don’t use any state of the art charting so the record keeping is quite slim.

Started with an estrogen priming and then antagonist protocol. Towards the end of the previous cycle I started with an estrogen miniville patch and cetrotide. After my baseline I started with clinics, menopur, GonalF and continued with the estrogen patch. Added cetrotide about 5 days into stim and went for 10 days of stim before trigger shot

Started with a Baseline sonogram the first day of my cycle to make sure there are no pre-existing cysts in my ovaries. Stared on day 3 of my cycle, took clomid for 5 days. On day 7th of my cycle, had a HSG Hysterosalpinogram to evaluate the tubes and uterus. On day 12th had a Mid-cycle Vaginal Sonogram to check the ovaries for the dominant follicle and to measure the thickness of the uterine lining. After the sonogram that day (12th) had HCG inyection (Human chorionic gonadotropin) to ensure that ovulation will occur. On day 13thm had the IUI treatment. The treatment was not successful.

Don’t be afraid to ask questions, ask about possible treatments, etc. - he [Dr. Le] will not hesitate to take time to talk and explain with you...I had a MC 2 years ago and haven’t gotten pregnant since them. I seem to ovulate on my own but still no pregnancy. First round with Dr. Le we tried clomid with trigger shot. My lining ended up a bit thin so next cycle we did Femara with trigger shot and progesterone. My progesterone tested fine the previous cycle but he said it could only help.
Each ultrasound [at IVFMD] is $150 for clomid/femara monitored cycles. Trigger shot is about $150 and cost of meds just depend...One of my favorite things and partially why I chose this clinic is because they have many options to accommodate full time working people like me. We did our initial consultation via phone with Dr. Le, and they have later office hours a few days a week so we can always work out an after work appointment. I had difficultly communicating with the nurses for a little bit until I got an email address for them. If you have to call in, you hardly ever get someone, just a machine, but they will call you back.
How was your experience with Sy Le at IVFMD - Iriving (Fertility Specialist Network clinic)?
I am very happy with Dr. Le. I am still trying for a baby but he is as aggressive as you want to be and he takes the time to listen, explain, and answer all of my questions. He seems to adjust things as needed to see what will work.

We took December off but will be returning in January ready to go.

All of the nurses I dealt with were great. I don’t have a ton of interaction with them - they did my first trigger shot and showed us how to do the second one on our own but other than that It was just being shown to our room at each appointment before the doctor came in.

Dr. Le seems to listen well to the patients and be as aggressive or cautious as they want to be which is appreciated. I am very happy with this doctor and clinic. They are also very affordable.
Describe the costs associated with your care under Sy Le at IVFMD - Iriving (Fertility Specialist Network clinic).
As well as I remember, the consultation was $100-150, same cost over the phone as it would have been in office.
Each ultrasound is $150 for clomid/femara monitored cycles. Trigger shot is about $150 and cost of meds just depend. For me, clomid was much cheaper than femara but my body responded better to femara.
After my miscarriage he [Dr. Le] personally called me and told me how sorry he was. That meant a lot to me and my husband. He's a great doctor, the only one I will use. He goes above and beyond to make you feel comfortable and to give you the best chances of starting a family....Dr. Le came up with my protocol based on my labs and referral from my previous infertility doctor. Only having one ovary we knew we had to be somewhat aggressive to get a good amount of eggs at retrieval. I took Gonal-F, Menopur, and ceteroide.
The nurse [IVFMD] who taught me how to use the medications was patient and very educated on each different medication.... Additionally the price of IVFMD is very affordable and includes many extras that none of the other clinics in the area offer. I also love the convenience of the lab on site instead of having to go anywhere else. As far as weaknesses go I honestly can't think of anything. Every person at the clinic was helpful and kind.

He made sure all of our questions were answered and that we knew exactly what your options were. I recommend him to all of my friends going through infertility.

Dr. Le came up with my protocol based on my labs and referral from my previous infertility doctor. Only having one ovary we knew we had to be somewhat aggressive to get a good amount of eggs at retrieval. I took Gonal-F, Menopur, and ceteroide. I did a fresh cycle based off my reaction to the medicine and my hormone levels. I had a good experience with all the medicine and his nurses went over all the medications and how to administer them before hand. We are all assigned our own nurse,
I thought that was very helpful. Dr. Le made sure that everything was on tract at every appointment and that all of my questions were asked.
Describe your experience with your nurse at IVFMD - Iriving (Fertility Specialist Network clinic). (Assigned nurse: Katherine )
The nurse who taught me how to use the medications was patient and very educated on each different medication. The nurse that was assigned to me was awesome. Katherine was always available to answer any and all of my many many questions. Living almost 6 hours from the clinic she made sure I was taken care of. She would check in on me and ask me questions about how everything was going from my first appointment up to my miscarriage.
Describe your experience with IVFMD - Iriving (Fertility Specialist Network clinic).
Dr. Le has been helping couples get pregnant for decades. His commitment to his work is something few doctors have or strive for. His ability to treat each patient as an individual rather than a number is something many women seek especially while trying to find a IVF clinic. Additionally the price of IVFMD is very affordable and includes many extras that none of the other clinics in the area offer. I also love the convenience of the lab on site instead of having to go anywhere else. As far as weaknesses go I honestly can't think of anything. Every person at the clinic was helpful and kind.
Describe the costs associated with your care under Sy Le at IVFMD - Iriving (Fertility Specialist Network clinic).
The clinic charges $8500. And Anesthesia was an additional $500. ICSI was included in the price and so was the first year of freezing embryos. Compared to other clinics in the area genetic testing was significantly cheaper at IVFMD.
Describe Sy Le's approach to eSET (elective single embryo transfer) vs. multiple embryo transfer at IVFMD - Iriving (Fertility Specialist Network clinic).
In our case we are a young couple me 26 at the time of our cycle and him 29. We didn't feel the pressure to transfer two embryos at the same time. In addition it's a much higher risk and less successful than a single embryo transfer. We trust in Dr. Le to help us make the right decision for us and our potential baby.
Dr. Le was really great on explaining the entire IVF cycle in the beginning. Now that we're actively in the cycle, I don't feel as comfortable with my knowledge. The visits now with him are very short but then again he's only doing sonograms and always answers our questions while he's in the room. I'm just left with a feeling that i don't know as much as i should....Ask questions. Ask so many that you think you're annoying him. He's very patient to answer and will explain thoroughly.
The clinic [IVFMD] is pretty good about keeping appointment times. I don't have to wait very long to go back, 10 minutes at the most. They play good music in the waiting room and have fish tank. The exam rooms are large and clean and they turn on smaller lighting to avoid the harsh bright florescent. The bathroom is actually decorated as opposed to a sterile hospital type bathroom. The education rooms are a little bare. Wish they would decorate those like the bathrooms. Labcorp is on the first floor of the building where the clinic is located so it makes it very convenient to get bloodwork that the clinic can't do.

In the beginning consulting stages he was very educational in his approach on communicating with my husband and I the process of IVF. He drew many illustrations and diagrams to help us understand. I have always felts that he cares whether or not we can have a baby.
Describe the protocols Sy Le used in your cycles at IVFMD - Iriving (Fertility Specialist Network clinic) and their degree of success.
We are doing an antagonist protocol. I stared with 10 units of Lupron for 12 days. Starting day 12 I will add 300 units of Gonal, Menopur and 5 units of Lupron. Not sure of the menopur dose but its one little bottle of the liquid mixed together with one bottle of the powder. That's as far as i've gotten so i'm not sure of the rest of the process. I do know i'll have an HCG trigger shot. And progesterone suppositories and pills and minivelle patches.
Describe your experience with your nurse at IVFMD - Iriving (Fertility Specialist Network clinic). (Assigned nurse: Katherine)
Katherine is very pleasant. She calls and checks in frequently. She thoroughly explains my medications. She doesn't offer up a lot of extra information so my husband always asks the questions i forget about.

He’s [Dr. Le] great! He’s good at explaining the process and always willing to answer questions and adjust protocol if needed. He called after every miscarriage and said he was sorry. He’s compassionate and cares what happens to his patients...Hopeful and made me feel heard...We did the standard protocol the first two. Then we did lupron, two weeks of antibiotics instead of one to treat my chronic endometritis....
[nurses at IVFMD - Iriving are] Not great. They have a lot of patients and you can get forgotten if you don’t stay on top of what you’re supposed to be doing. Just make sure you stay in contact with them...They have forgotten to call me with results before And I have had to call the nurses to get them...They have alot of patients so it’s easy to get forgotten or overlooked...

[Dr. Sy Le] He is a wonderful doctor with great bed side manner...We will probably complete a few more IUI cycles before moving on to IVF...[protocol] First round IUI 50mg clomid. Resulted in one nature follicle and a pregnancy. Miscarries around 6 weeks. Second round 50mg clomid. Resulted in one nature follicle and failed cycle. Third round switched to 10mg letrozole because clomid made me feel terrible. Resulted in 2 mature follicles. Failed cycle. Fourth cycle added gonal-f 50 and letrozole 5mg. No mature follicles. Canceled IUI.
[clinic of IVFMD] They were able to get us in quickly when needed. Did not have any long wait times in the waiting room or exam room...[clinic error] In one instance my Rx was not called in...I received it a day late so we just moved my cycle one day...My IUIs were covered by insurance. I paid about $300-400 each cycle. $60 office copay x 2, $200 for IUI, and meds were extra ($5-150)...

He’s [Dr. Le] very knowledgeable! He’s also very compassionate and caring. Although, things don’t go as planned, he’s been able to adjust my treatment as needed. I feel confident that he is doing what’s right for me...Be prepared to be seen by other doctors For a couple of my first treatments, Dr. Le was completing them. Then as time when on, the other two additional doctors step in. It was fine, but sometimes felt lost since they didn’t know what Dr. Le and I had spoken about in a previous visit.
They’re [IVFMD staff]good at explaining the information about the treatment and cost! They also provide you with pharmacy information for your meds. Weakness might be billing. As with any purchases/ payments, I would advice to stay on top of that...They highly encourage the single embryo transfer...I visited this office a couple of times and never felt like they were approachable. I went in, signed in, made my payment, and sat in the room to see the doctor. The interaction was always minimal.

Dr. Beverly [Reed] always receives me with a smile and asking how I feel which makes me feel comfortable and I’m able to speak freely about my feelings and concerns. He [Dr. Le] was very positive and encouraging about treatment and didn’t want to rush me into invasive treatments when he thought I could definitely get pregnant without. He was very patient and willing to work with us. ... Dr. Le is extremely compassionate. We had planned to transfer 2 embryos, but the day of the transfer (which happened to be a Sunday because thats just how the days fell) he said... Are you prepared for twins? I have a good feeling about this, you are going to be pregnant. Would you like to just transfer 1? YES. We transferred 1 and have 1 amazing son. Dr. Le makes you feel extremely important, and like he is giving you the treatment / advice he would give his own loved ones.
