Kindbody - New York

The clinic is beautiful, the portal is easy to use, the customer service is excellent, the nursing team is really good as well as all the doctors I’ve met. The only department that messed up multiple times was the billing dept. They billed the wrong insurance, they sent me wrong invoices to pay with huge numbers. Luckily all the issues with the billing dept were solved, but it was unpleasant.

Completely unorganized, horrible service, staff doesn't return messages or calls, and this place is very clearly just a money making scheme. They do not care at all about your wellness, and it is very apparent that they do not care about your success.

Administratively, Kindbody was a nightmare. I started going to Kindbody in June 2022 because I have an employer benefit with them. From June to December 2022, I had a great experience with the in-office staff, who I felt were compassionate, knowledgable, and attentive as we navigated fertility testing and began contemplating freezing eggs or embryos. In January 2023, things rapidly went downhill. I received a sizable bill from their genetic testing partner (testing which I had been given the impression from Kindbody would have no out-of-pocket cost to me). As of October, I hadn't not received any resolution from Kindbody regarding this bill, despite approximately one dozen follow ups by phone and messaging portal. Ultimately, sometime around November, it was communicated to me that the partner decided to stop offering this testing service and "was not longer pursuing payment", and so Kindbody considered the matter closed. This sort of administrative headache became the rule, rather than the exception, as we began to inquire about the financial commitment of IVF. Over the course of weeks, we could not get a straight answer from their team about how much it would cost and what my out-of-pocket responsibility would be. Weeks turned into months, and despite a positive experience with the in-office and medical staff, we ultimately felt certain that our answer was not trusting our fertility and future family to a company that was so administratively messy.

no strengths to speak of, I cannot warn people against Kindbody enough, they were negligent in their duty of care to me and still have not yet taken proper responsibility . A new patient should know that they don't respond to you, do not care and just part of the money spinning exercise - go elsewhere

The clinic is still finding its way. There is greater transparency than I have had with other clinics but less experience. The doctors have years are experience behind them but not at Kindbody. Kindbody is really good at the easy stuff and, in my honest opinion, they have had a harder time with less straight forward cases. The communication with Kindman who my partner had to work with to determine any fertility concerns on their end, has been really disappointing. If I hadn't worked with Kindbody prior and new about my partners male fertility issues, I would have sought a clinic with more experience with male fertility support. Right now we are working with Kindbody for me, Kindman for my partner, and the issue he needs resolved is being out sourced to another doctor because Kindman isn't able to provide that service.

The Kindbody portal is so easy to use and all daily communication comes through there. If there’s a big change you’ll get a phone call, but if it’s a tweak to existing medicine it’s updated between 4-6pm every day, it was always consistent and easy to follow. If you call to talk to a nurse, you can rarely ever get someone to speak to you in that moment, but they will call you back. The emergency hotline worked well, I used it twice in the middle of the night and I was connected to a nurse that helped.

If Kindbody weren’t branded as a place to make everything easier, simple and transparent, maybe I would have less disdain. It’s worse or at best like a standard doctor’s office. Finance has no idea what is happening with your case and takes EXTREMELY long to process even if you are meant to be starting a cycle. Finance also charged me without any receipt or notice and when I reached out for clarity, they had no idea why it happened and just refunded me.... not the best vote of confidence. Nurses told me things contradictory to what Dr Browne said (eg Dr said I could not workout because I was at risk for ovarian hypertension, but 2 nurses told me I could workout. I had to ask a 3rd nurse to speak to Dr and make a final answer).

The tech platform Kindbody uses is super user friendly. They upload your medications and videos of how to use each one there. And show you how many follicles were seen on the ultrasound scan. The offices are modern and patient friendly, not dark and sterile.

Kindbody was great at communicating to me all the steps for my cycle, and making sure I felt supported. Their prices were significantly cheaper than other places in NYC, but the quality of the care was amazing. They have a patient portal to review results and receiving additional instructions / documents from doctors, which made coordinating with the clinical team very easy.

The clinic is open and honest about pricing and has all prices on their website. They are responsive in the message portal and communicate well. In person you always have a good experience and the clinics are beautiful inside.

Strengths: Organized, Welcoming, Comfortable warm space. Receptionist was kind and accomodating. Very clean. Weaknesses: They don't offer evening appointments or appointments outside normal business hours.

The clinic is women-led, women-run and centrally located in the Flatiron. The staff members are competent and caring. The IVF instructions and appointments are all accessible via a patient portal. Honestly, I can't think of a weakness at this point.

Kindbody is great in theory by attempting to modernize fertility care and make it more accessible and empowering to young professional women. The clinic is beautiful and super instagram-able, but it seems they're focusing too much on their cool, millennial aesthetic. Most importantly, they put far too much responsibility on nurses and the (unknown credentialed) care navigators, with seemingly minimal oversight by physicians. While this may be financially beneficial to the company, it poses an extreme risk to the patients.
