This is the most recent data from the CDC. The CDC cautions that it should not be used to compare doctors and clinics. This data represents the outcomes of IVF cycles when using a person's own eggs.
For more information please see our FAQs.
Where you see a “?” on the chart, a clinic has done fewer than 20 cycles in this category and age range, so the CDC says showing percentages from this small data set would be misleading and unreliable.
Dr Mehr answers any and all questions thoroughly. Never once have I felt like she's rushing through an appointment...does her research before talking with you, so she's up-to-date on the treatment...During our second cycle, we were encountering low numbers and Dr Mehr called me to chat through all options
I first came in 2022, the clinic felt very vibrant and "cool," but it still felt like an intimate doctor's office...recently...it feels like they are just shoving people through and they don't pay attention to you...is very disorganized now...have shown up for appointments only to find out there is no one on staff to actually see me...would not recommend KindBody to anyone.
How was your experience with Holly Mehr at Kindbody - Los Angeles?
Dr Mehr answers any and all questions thoroughly. Never once have I felt like she's rushing through an appointment. She does her research before talking with you, so she's up-to-date on the treatment. At no point have I felt like just a number, or patient she's trying to rush through.
What's one piece of advice would you give a prospective patient of Holly Mehr at Kindbody - Los Angeles?
Dr Mehr won't sugarcoat things - she isn't abrasive at all, but she's going to give it to you straight.
During treatment, were you treated like a number or a human with Holly Mehr at Kindbody - Los Angeles?
Dr Mehr treats us with the absolute utmost kindness. She takes her time explaining things, answers all of our questions, and gives us blunt no-nonsense advice.
Describe the protocols Holly Mehr used in your cycles at Kindbody - Los Angeles and their degree of success.
We used normal protocols for both of our embryo freezings. During our second cycle, we were encountering low numbers and Dr Mehr called me to chat through all options, but we ended up continuing the same course and had good results in the end.
Describe your experience with the nursing staff at Kindbody - Los Angeles.
All of the nurses are very nice. The clinic itself felt a bit all over the place - I've had appointments set and I'll show up only to wait for 30+ minutes. Or one time I showed up and there wasn't a nurse on staff to actually do my appointment - so I had to reschedule for the next day.
Describe your experience with Kindbody - Los Angeles.
When I first came in 2022, the clinic felt very vibrant and "cool," but it still felt like an intimate doctor's office. However, recently the clinic has been full to the brim with patients and it feels like they are just shoving people through and they don't pay attention to you.
The clinic is very disorganized now. I have shown up for appointments only to find out there is no one on staff to actually see me, and I have to come back the next day. It was pulling teeth to get prescription called into my pharmacy, to the point where I have called in tears just desperately trying to get someone to help me. I would not recommend KindBody to anyone.
Describe the costs associated with your care under Holly Mehr at Kindbody - Los Angeles.
I believe we've paid close to $40,000 for two retrievals.
Describe Holly Mehr's approach to eSET (elective single embryo transfer) vs. multiple embryo transfer at Kindbody - Los Angeles.
We have not undergone a transfer yet, but Dr Mehr has stated to us she will do a single embryo transfer.
What specific things went wrong at Kindbody - Los Angeles?
Failed to call in prescriptions to pharmacy
Lost appointments
Failed to call with results
Failed to inform you of changes in protocol
Provided conflicting information
Describe the specific things that went wrong at Kindbody - Los Angeles.
As previously mentioned - the clinic has had many issues for us.
They didn't call in prescriptions, and I've had to follow up multiple times. They were not timely in giving results - we'd have to reach out ourselves.
KindMan in particular has been horrific - my husband received the absolute worst treatment. KindMan repeatedly never called to give him results from his tests. He had to actually call multiple times before our last transfer to verify his results were OK.
After my last retrieval, no one (no doctor, no nurse) came out to talk to my husband to give any results. We had to wait until we CALLED IN to get results because they never uploaded to the app.
I think Kindbody and Meredith Brower are scam artists...saw the doctor only once and that was the day of the egg retrieval surgery. Prior to the surgery, I never saw the doctor once...do not spend time on patients individually so everyone’s put through the same protocol.
Kindbody is a terrible idea. It’s basically private equity investors buying out fertility practices and investing in technology to increase efficiency and profits by cramming as many patients under each doctor as possible...care more about showing efficient costs to their investors than patient results....do have great marketing and a very well designed web portal...if you want actual healthcare and results, avoid this place!
How was your experience with Meredith Brower at Kindbody - Los Angeles?
I think Kindbody and Meredith Brower are scam artists. Do not bother to freeze your eggs with them. They have no interest in your results, probably because for egg freezing, there’s a huge chance you won’t come back for them and they won’t be held responsible for the results. Out of 8 oocytes retrieved, only 3 were viable because they did not adjust my protocol. I did actually come back for mine later and none of the 3 made it to viable embryos. Save your money, do not bother to freeze your eggs here. I went to 2 other fertility clinics as well, and both were much better. Avoid private equity backed clinics like Kindbody.
What's one piece of advice would you give a prospective patient of Meredith Brower at Kindbody - Los Angeles?
Do not go here. Kindbody is private equity backed and is trying to prove that through tech, they can cram more patients under a single doctor. She is negligent and I did not see her until day of surgery. Go to another clinic.
During treatment, were you treated like a number or a human with Meredith Brower at Kindbody - Los Angeles?
I saw the doctor only once and that was the day of the egg retrieval surgery. Prior to the surgery, I never saw the doctor once! Kindbody just tries to cram as many patients in as possible, relying on nurses and their website to increase efficiency. Yes, their website is better than most clinics, but ultimately my abysmal results showed me that a well-designed website cannot make up for a negligent doctor.
Describe your experience with the nursing staff at Kindbody - Los Angeles.
Kindbody relies entirely on nurses and their website. I will say their online portal is much better than any other clinic I’ve been to. But that’s about the only good thing I can say about them.

Describe the costs associated with your care under Meredith Brower at Kindbody - Los Angeles.
$11,000 including medications for the entire round of egg freezing
Dr. Brower has made us feel safe...upfront and direct with us while also being incredibly kind and personable. We like her so much that we followed her to the new clinic [Kindbody]...our first egg retrieval and embryo making cycle came back different than what she expected she advised my husband to do a DNA fragmentation test...called us personally when she gets results and it is always when she says she will or sooner...has been at all of my appointments, except one...
Having KindBody as our clinic brightens my mood a little bit when we go in because of the people and the space they have created...transparent about all of their pricing and information is very easy to find on their website...I love my patient portal- It has all of my information from past appointments and tests as well as instructional videos for injections and a timeline of my journey...[nurse is] available to us over email and WhatApp and responds quickly.
How was your experience with Meredith Brower at Kindbody - Los Angeles?
I answered a lot of this in the first question, as I did not know what other questions there would be, but I will write more. Dr. Brower has been amazing! She is very compassionate towards our situation and makes sure to give us all of our options. When we went in for our first appointment with her, based on our test results, we thought IUI would work. After the IUI did not work (it was our first time with Brower and our fourth time overall) with more tests it became apparent that my husband's sperm are not the best quality; we decided to move forward with IVF. Although some unexpected things have occurred with our first egg retrieval and ICSI (only 1 embryo survived of 8) she has given us all the information she has and what all of our options are. She has called us personally when she gets results and it is always when she says she will or sooner. She has allowed us to talk things through and decide what we want to do with her guidance and not with pressure. Brower has been at all of my appointments, except one, due to Covid-19 and having a limited number of people in the office (the office is now closed, but this was when it was just starting to pick up). Even if I was just getting blood drawn she'd make sure to pop in and say hello. She is also very into the education of a women's body and participates in panels to help educate on fertility/infertility, which I think is awesome! I'd say her strengths are making sure to cover all options, depending on the patients, and being personable- following up with results when she says she will. We can't say what her weaknesses are at the moment, as we have not found any, but I do wish she would have talked to us more about doing more extensive tests on my husband before we did our first egg retrieval/ ICSI- although the tests from his urologist specialist did not make it completely apparent that we needed to do this, so I don't blame Dr. Brower. We really lucked out with finding her and we can't say enough good things on how she has been with us on this journey of trying to start a family.
What's one piece of advice would you give a prospective patient of Meredith Brower at Kindbody - Los Angeles?
Don't be afraid to ask any and all questions. Brower is honest and will answer all of your questions to the best of her ability. Also to ask her for recommendations on nutrients, acupuncturist, and therapist as she works along side with all of them and has a handful of people she'd recommend.
During treatment, were you treated like a number or a human with Meredith Brower at Kindbody - Los Angeles?
I feel like a human because; From the moment we met Dr. Brower we knew she was the doctor for us. She was very thorough with her process and how she would work with us based on our past tests and results. She made room for us to discuss what our thoughts were and answered all of our questions and made herself available to us. We had seen two other doctors before Brower and I won't say much, but the first one I left the office crying. Dr. Brower has made us feel safe and has been very upfront and direct with us while also being incredibly kind and personable. We like her so much that we followed her to the new clinic she transferred to after we'd only met with her twice (she was at Fertility & Surgical Associates of California in Santa Monica and left late 2019 to be the primary Doctor for KindBody's new location in Santa Monica, CA). We have not been able to complete a transfer due to Covid-19 and will have to do another egg retrieval when we can start the process again. There are a couple things that have been abnormal through our first egg retrieval process and have not turned out how Dr. Brower has expected. She has guided us on more tests for my husband to do and also what other processes we may need to ender to have a successful amount of embryo continue to grow after day 5 (we went from have 8 embryo to only having 1 after day 5). The entire staff at KindBody, Santa Monica, CA, has been amazing. We have a nurse that is also always available to us and the front desk women get back to us in minutes if I have a question. They have also worked with us on making payments. Even after not so great results with our first egg retrieval Dr. Brower has given us next steps and back our hope of becoming parents.
Describe the protocols Meredith Brower used in your cycles at Kindbody - Los Angeles and their degree of success.
I am not sure of the exact naming of the protocol but I was originally going to start my first egg retrieval cycle with taking birth control starting on day 3 of my period for about 10 days then going in for a blood test and ultrasound. If everything look right and my blood test came back good I'd return in 3 days for the same thing and then start my injections. Unfortunately my body did not respond to the BC (I had already started to produce a cyst on my follicle) so I had to stop and wait until my next period cycle. Once I started my period again Brower had me come in on day 2 and if the ultrasound and blood test came back good I would start the injections that night. I was able to start injections in the PM of day 2 of that period (Gonal F - 300 units
Menopur - 150 units). I started my injections on 3/11 and had an egg retrieval on 3/21. During that time I went in every other day for blood tests and an ultrasound until 3/18 and then I went in every day until my retrieval on 3/21. I continued with the Gonal F and Menopur until 3/18 and added in the Cetrotide, 1 kit in the AM, 3/14-3/19. I took my trigger medication, Novarel 2500/Lupron Trigger on 3/19 at 9pm, went in for a blood test on 3/20, and my egg retrieval was 3/21, in the morning. The treatment strategy was to try and sync the growth of my follicles and to get the most good mature eggs (and not have the follicles get too big) . I usually have 18-20 follicles showing during ultrasounds before and during medication. My left side ended up under producing more than she thought, and my right side was pretty good. I had 17 eggs retrieved, 11 were mature and 8 became embryos. Of that 8 only one survived after day 5, and came back good from genetic testing. Because my body and uterus/lining seem to be in amazing condition Dr. Brower is hopeful that the one embryo will transfer and become a pregnancy, however she can't make promises and has been very honest about that. Because we want two children I told her we thought we should do another cycle before trying the transfer because I will be 35 this year and it will be better now for egg quality than in the future; she agreed. Because of our first egg retrieval and embryo making cycle came back different than what she expected she advised my husband to do a DNA fragmentation test and then see what we can do and what our options are after we get the test results. She also explained that because of my egg reserve test results (my AMH is 3.24 and AFC is usually 18-20) and age it would be abnormal for it to be all egg quality (as you know there is no way to test of egg quality) so we need to wait for my husbands results before we move forward with another egg retrieval and embryo making cycle. We also found out my husband has a varicose vein in one of his testicles which could be leading to poor sperm quality so depending on his DNA fragmentation test an option could be to remove the sperm directly from the testicles before doing another cycle/ICSI. We hope to get some answers from the test he did soon so we can figure out next steps, what our options are, and put some plans into action, although we are seeing now that plans do not go as they seem they will. For my next egg retrieval cycle, we hope we are able to start in June if everything reopens for medical fertility procedures, Brower is going to try another protocol to see if she can get my follicles to sync up better. I will prep during May to synchronize my follicles with Estrogen patches prior to my June period. I will go into the office 1 week after my ovulation in May for blood test. Once my bloodwork confirms ovulation I will start an Estrogen patch and change it every 3 days until my June period. On Day 2 or 3 of my June period I will have an office appointment with a blood test and ultrasound and if it looks good I will start my Injections that night.
Describe your experience with your nurse at Kindbody - Los Angeles. (Assigned nurse: Ann)
Ann is amazing as well! She is very compassionate and truly cares about us and our journey. She respects all of our feelings and is very organized and gets all the information to us in a timely manner when she says she will. We meet with her after all major appointments and she goes over all protocols and details and answers all of our questions. She follows up after my appointments in an email with all of our information again. She is also available to us over email and WhatApp and responds quickly.
Describe your experience with Kindbody - Los Angeles.
KindBody is amazing (I am using that word a lot)!! They are a new kind of fertility clinic and I can't say enough good things about them. They allow women to go in at any point of their life to find out about their body/fertility and get information. They are very transparent about all of their pricing and information is very easy to find on their website. As a patient I love my patient portal- It has all of my information from past appointments and tests as well as instructional videos for injections and a timeline of my journey. The clinic also offers additional services like yearly check ups, nutritionists, therapists, and acupuncturists. Before Covid-19 the clinic would offer free fertility panels to go to, now they have switched it to online zoom calls and have been able to add more speakers. I love the community they are helping to build and the resources/information they are sharing for free. The office is super chic and very clean and bright. There are motivational quotes on the walls and the staff is very friendly (some of the staff also followed Dr. Brower when she moved to this clinic). The past few weeks have been rough for us with our embryo results, it's a lot of money and we have to do it again and hope that it is possible for us. Having KindBody as our clinic brightens my mood a little bit when we go in because of the people and the space they have created. They also take insurance, however our insurance does not cover infertility treatments or testing.
Describe the costs associated with your care under Meredith Brower at Kindbody - Los Angeles.
You can also find this and other procedure prices on their website. An egg retrieval cycle with transfer is $12,500 and with genetic testing it is $17000, which is what we did (genetic testing is up to 8 embryo for $4500). If you have 2 cycles of egg retrieval instead of $25,000 they discount it to $20,000, and with genetic testing it is a total of $29,000. Which is what we will end up paying. The medications are $4,000-6,000 each cycle. For me the first cycle, without transfer medications has been about $5,000 or a little more. I will have to see what the cost of transfer medications are however I expect them to be $500-$1,000 since I was told the range for all medications is usually $4,000-$5,000. DNA fragmentation test runs $275-$500, we have not received the bill yet. If my husband has to have sperm removed directly from the testicles it looks like that is $3000-$12,000; from what we have looked up on the web (Doctor Brower would not do this producer).
Describe Meredith Brower's approach to eSET (elective single embryo transfer) vs. multiple embryo transfer at Kindbody - Los Angeles.
Dr. Brower explained that this depends on the patient and situation. For us, since my uterus and lining look great, she advised the eSET (and right now that is all we have- hopefully we will get more after the next cycle). She explained how there are more risks for twins if more than 1 egg should attach after transfer. She prefers patients not to go with multiple embryo transfer if the uterus and lining are good and there are no other concerns, however if someone wants to have twins she will talk to them about that. We feel comfortable with her recommending eSET for us and selecting the best embryo if we get more out of our next cycle.
Dr. Mehr was always available and answered all of my questions. She was caring and concerned.... She knew my charts, she knew my background and took all of it in consideration with making a plan and giving me the best care possible...When I got my positive pregnancy test she was supposed to call me at 2pm but called me 2 hours early because she was excited and couldn't wait. That's the kind of investment I needed during this process, especially because I was doing it on my own
The strengths [of Kindbody] is that it's such a well oiled machine - everything is organized and put together. It made it easy to book appointments and find out what was needed. I loved the online portal. The only weakness is that there is never a direct line to you specific clinic. You always have to call at 1-800 number to talk to someone on the phone. With that said, if you emailed, they would get back to you quickly
How was your experience with Holly Mehr at Kindbody - Los Angeles?
I had a terrible experience with a different fertility doctor before Dr. Mehr. I was skeptical and had very low expectations. Dr. Mehr really did restore my faith in this process and my health. I always felt heard and I truly felt like she had my best interest at heart. When I got my positive pregnancy test she was supposed to call me at 2pm but called me 2 hours early because she was excited and couldn't wait. That's the kind of investment I needed during this process, especially because I was doing it on my own. She was in my corner and I will be forever grateful to her.
What's one piece of advice would you give a prospective patient of Holly Mehr at Kindbody - Los Angeles?
Don't be afraid to ask all the questions and be a bit vulnerable. Even if you think they are wild questions. Dr. Mehr will always approach them with respect and an active ear. She'll listen to you and/or your concerns and help you move through them.
During treatment, were you treated like a number or a human with Holly Mehr at Kindbody - Los Angeles?
Dr. Mehr was always available and answered all of my questions. She was caring and concerned. It was the first time in many years that I felt heard by a doctor and validated in my feelings. She knew my charts, she knew my background and took all of it in consideration with making a plan and giving me the best care possible.
Describe the protocols Holly Mehr used in your cycles at Kindbody - Los Angeles and their degree of success.
During my cycle we utilized clomid to get my eggs started. After the first few appointments we discovered that my follicles needed a bit of a bump because they were not growing at the rate that we wanted. We added Menopur to the cycle to get everything on track. When the follicles were at the right size I used an ovidrel shot to ovulate one day prior to IUI. During the second round Dr. Mehr she increased my Menopur and we proceeded similarly. My second IUI was a success.
Describe your experience with your nurse at Kindbody - Los Angeles. (Assigned nurse: Michelle)
The nursing staff was incredibly lovely! Specifically Michelle, always answered my questions in a timely manner, emailed me all the appropriate answers and were super on top of getting my appointments sorted. It's already an emotional and stressful time and not having to worry about the details and knowing that someone will take care it was a huge relief. Also, all the women that would draw my blood put a smile on my face. They were kind, remembered me and were thoughtful. I hate getting my blood drawn but they made it a bit easier. I LOVED those ladies. I also wanted to shout out to Natasha who did so many of my ultrasounds and made me feel comfortable every time. Natasha always made me smile.

Thankfully a lot of what I did was covered by insurance. Anything that was not I could see on the invoice section of my portal.
Dr Meredith Brower is hands down the most brilliant, skilled but also incredibly kind and compassionate doctor...My husband and I were looking forward to every appointment and walked out lighthearted and confident. You feel in good hands every step of the way. She's a true professional with a highly scientific approach and in the same time sees the humans in front of her. We got pregnant with her at first try and are over the moon expecting our first child. She managed to make a dry, scary, at times overwhelming process like IVF pleasant. I can't recommend her enough. She is nothing short of amazing and I wish all doctors would be a bit more like Dr Meredith Brower.
[Kindbody - LA] Strength: DOCTOR (Meredith Brower), atmosphere, seamless process, portal, planning, team. Everybody feels very kind, so the name "Kindbody" is quite accurate. Weakness: Financial department. Chaotic, made a few mistakes and you are quite busy making sure everything is correct. I truly hope they improve that...The nurses were overall great, compassionate, pleasant, skilled. I felt in good hands.

Describe the protocols Meredith Brower used in your cycles at Kindbody - Los Angeles and their degree of success.
First she thoroughly inspected me and discovered a polyp which she surgically removed in order to make a successful pregnancy happen. She presented me with all my options, risks, benefits, and let me decide my best option- Which for me was IVF. She guided me through a very successful egg retrieval process and a successful embryo transfer.

Describe the specific things that went wrong at Kindbody - Los Angeles.
Mistakes from the financial department were made. And once they failed to explain that I have to call for my medications so we ended up scrambling with a costly overnight medication delivery.
I have a lot of questions and I felt that Dr. Mehr was always willing to answer them in great detail to my comfort level. She was never annoyed with the questions I asked... She's thorough and explains her thought process and is willing to talk to you about the science and medical studies that are relevant. Even though we didn't end up with the result we wanted, I still appreciated having her as our doctor through the process.
[Kindbody Los Angeles] Strengths: - doesn't feel like a clinic, it's more welcoming because it's at the mall (which can also be weird but I choose to see this as a positive) - Everything is online and easily accessible - Nurses are kind - Dr. Mehr was excellent and thorough Weakness: - They often schedule without consulting the patients...the nurses were compassionate and caring.

I had been on Letrozole with another doctor but my progesterone was testing high, so Dr. Mehr suggested I switch to a lower dose of Clomid instead. She was worried about overstimulation. I started on Cycle Day 2 and went back again on Cycle Day 9 to check where I was at. I triggered ovulation that night with the shot and 2 days later went in for my IUI.
Describe your experience with the nursing staff at Kindbody - Los Angeles.
Whenever I was on-site, the nurses were compassionate and caring. I did have 2 points of feedback.
- It was around the holidays and we were having trouble scheduling my pregnancy test. Instead of calling me to discuss when the appointment would be moved, they just kept moving the appointment without consulting me. That certainly made me uneasy especially because I also had to make plans and they weren't consulting me for that.
- My pregnancy blood test was painful. The nurse kept poking my arm to try to find my vein and I finally had to tell her to stop.

I guess I have had some weird instances.
- There's been a few times where they didn't call in my prescription
- There was one instance where they didn't send my labwork order to Quest like we had discussed.
- The very first time they lost my blood sample and I had to go back and retest
- There was one time that they weren't able to show me my results in the portal.
She [Dr. Brower] has excellent bedside manor, talks to you like a human (not a number), takes all of your history and testing into consideration, and is very honest and clear with her diagnosis and treatment plan. She takes time to explain everything, answer all questions, and never rushes you...Be prepared with all of your medical history - everything matters and she will review it all. Also, be prepared to work with other doctors in the clinic as they all work together to accommodate their patients. We were told that, while Dr. Brower is our primary RE, she works as a team with her other doctors and we may work with other doctors during the process....
Kindbody is great about providing prices upfront....I wasn't told to take any painkillers before my saline ultrasound, and it was an incredibly painful procedure...Century City location is in a mall, which has pros and cons. The office itself is beautiful and warm. But parking can be confusing, and walking in and out of a mall for medical procedures is a little strange, but it is also a nice distraction. Just something to consider as a new patient if you are considering KindBody....

Also, be prepared to work with other doctors in the clinic as they all work together to accommodate their patients. We were told that, while Dr. Brower is our primary RE, she works as a team with her other doctors and we may work with other doctors during the process.
During treatment, were you treated like a number or a human with Meredith Brower at Kindbody - Los Angeles?
Dr. Brower was very warm and kind. We met with her both virtually and in person and her demeanor was always friendly. She took the time to get to know us and answer all of our questions, and we never felt rushed. That was very important to me as my husband and I want to make sure we had all of the answers to our questions. She was also very honest with us about our chances with IUI vs IVF vs spontaneous pregnancy, considering my test results and medical history.
Describe the protocols Meredith Brower used in your cycles at Kindbody - Los Angeles and their degree of success.
I went through all of the testing and was scheduled to begin IVF in July 2021, but ended up getting spontaneously pregnant the month before starting IVF treatment (unfortunately, it ended in a miscarriage). That said, Dr. Brower recommended IVF over IUI due to our ages, my medical history, and the fact that we had been TTC for over 3 years with no results. She did not push for genetic testing because I was 33 at the time, and she explained that genetic testing is recommended for women over 35 as that is when the risks of genetic issues become much higher. She also recommended progesterone as I have symptoms that are indicitive of low progesterone.
Describe your experience with your nurse at Kindbody - Los Angeles. (Assigned nurse: Michelle Glatz)
I worked with many staff members at Kindbody, but primarily worked with Mccrae Medina as my care coodinator and Michelle Glatz as my primary RN. I only spoke with them via messaging in the Kindbody portal, so my review is based only on written communication, never verbally (over the phone) or in person.
Both Mccrae and Michelle were kind, warm, attentive, and helpful. Michelle was very proactive in reaching out to me with information on the necessary medications and processes, including the estrogen priming phase, which I was unaware of before I started speaking to Michelle. She was very detailed in her information and always willing to answer my questions.
Describe your experience with Kindbody - Los Angeles.
Overall, Kindbody is an incredible clinic. Everyone, from the front desk staff to the nurses, to the phlebotomist, to the doctors, is incredibly kind, professional, and helpful. For example, my husband doesn't do well getting his blood drawn. We told this to the phlebotomist when he had to get his panel, and she immediately took him into an exam room, made him comfortable, and distracted him while she drew his blood. She was so kind, funny, and thoughtful. The nurses and front desk staff are all very warm and accomodating.
My only criticism is that I wish I had had more information about my saline ultrasound. I've had numerous vaginal ultrasounds but this was my first saline ultrasound. When I went in, the nurse asked me if I took motrin beforehand. No one told me to, so I said no. Then I got worried about the pain. And I had a right to be worried. Getting the tube into my cervix was incredibly painful to the point that I had to ask them to stop and let me breathe. I found out that my uterus was tilted so they were having a tough time inserting the tube, but some painkillers would have been nice.
Also, the Kindbody Century City location is in a mall, which has pros and cons. The office itself is beautiful and warm. But parking can be confusing, and walking in and out of a mall for medical procedures is a little strange, but it is also a nice distraction. Just something to consider as a new patient if you are considering KindBody.
Describe the costs associated with your care under Meredith Brower at Kindbody - Los Angeles.
Kindbody is great about providing prices upfront. My initial virtual consultation was $150, I think follow up appointments with Dr. Brower were $200-300. The entire IVF procedure (not including medications) is $12,500-13,500. If you want to do genetic testing, it is another $4,000. Medication can range from $3,000 to $6,000.
Describe Meredith Brower's approach to eSET (elective single embryo transfer) vs. multiple embryo transfer at Kindbody - Los Angeles.
Dr. Brower recommended to single embryo transfer, and provided two reasons: 1) the success rate of implantation is very high for a single embryo (she provided a percentage but I don't recall what it was) and 2) because of the high success rate there is a very high chance that multiple embryo transfer would result in twins. A twin pregnancy is considered high risk, so for that reason they recommend against it.

Describe the specific things that went wrong at Kindbody - Los Angeles.
I wasn't told to take any painkillers before my saline ultrasound, and it was an incredibly painful procedure. Upon entering the exam room, the nurse asked if I had taken ibuprofen. I said no, no one told me to. She said it was ok, but then I was worried about it being painful, and it was. I wish the clinic had told me what to expect or at least advised me to take painkillers beforehand.
Dr. Mehr was great. She was always very attentive, meticulous with detail...really cared for me and I know her evaluation was thorough...listened to my concerns and came up with a thoughtful and patient specific treatment plan for me...would send me articles explaining her recommendations
Kindbody [Los Angeles] was a great experience...were responsive, accommodating, and always friendly...clinic was always clean. Wait times were never prolonged. It was also very conveniently located for me and easy to access...Around $16,000 for the IVF cycle, not including medications (another ~$3000) Embryo transfer $4000
How was your experience with Holly Mehr at Kindbody - Los Angeles?
Dr. Mehr was great. She was always very attentive, meticulous with detail. She really cared for me and I know her evaluation was thorough. She listened to my concerns and came up with a thoughtful and patient specific treatment plan for me. She is one of the best doctors I have had
What's one piece of advice would you give a prospective patient of Holly Mehr at Kindbody - Los Angeles?
Dr. Mehr is great, you are in good hands. I would say in general for anyone going through for the IVF process to expect things to take a little bit longer than originally anticipated.
During treatment, were you treated like a number or a human with Holly Mehr at Kindbody - Los Angeles?
Dr. Mehr was excellent. She took her time with me on every visit, often I feel probably going over what her allotted time was. She was one of the first doctors I ever really built a relationship with. When our first cycle was less than ideal, she came to me with new ideas and included me on the decision making process. She really went above and beyond, would send me articles explaining her recommendations and was so detailed in all of her recommendations.

Dr. Mehr was very honest with us about what the course of treatment would look like...help us explore how best to address an autosomal dominant genetic disorder that I am a carrier for...was an expert but also a kind human being...always seemed prepared and knowledgable...listened to me and responded in a genuine and concerned manner
Kindbody [ - Los Angeles] gives great care across the board....communication can be a big challenge since they are such a huge organization...staff is wonderful...sometimes getting something done that included team members outside of that could be a huge challenge...Michelle was great at keeping things on track and communicating with me
How was your experience with Holly Mehr at Kindbody - Los Angeles?
Dr. Mehr was very honest with us about what the course of treatment would look like. She worked from the moment that we came to the clinic to help us explore how best to address an autosomal dominant genetic disorder that I am a carrier for. Dr. Mehr remained optimistic about the possibilities of having our own biological child. However, when we completed PGT-M testing and found that all of our embryos were affected by the disorder, Dr. Mehr was empathetic and tried to offer the best guidance about how to move forward if that was what we wanted. She was an expert but also a kind human being. I felt like I could not have asked for more from her.
What's one piece of advice would you give a prospective patient of Holly Mehr at Kindbody - Los Angeles?
Thoroughly explore all of your options before you dismiss something as a possibility you don't need to think about. Dr. Mehr is great about exploring these things but I often didn't want to explore things I thought wouldn't be relevant. Dr. Mehr still educated me about them, but later I wish I had engaged more with exploring all options.
During treatment, were you treated like a number or a human with Holly Mehr at Kindbody - Los Angeles?
Dr. Mehr always seemed prepared and knowledgable about what was happening with my treatment. She also listened to me and responded in a genuine and concerned manner. Dr. Mehr was encouraging and truthful even when things were very hard.
Describe the protocols Holly Mehr used in your cycles at Kindbody - Los Angeles and their degree of success.
During one of my cycles, it seemed I may have ovulated prior to egg retrieval. For every following cycle, Dr. Mehr made sure that we used an antagonist to help me not ovulate. Given my age, I don't believe there was anything else medically indicated that Dr. Mehr could have suggested. I felt we received good results from the treatment she offered.
Describe your experience with your nurse at Kindbody - Los Angeles. (Assigned nurse: Michelle and Sally)
99% of the time all staff and nursing team were amazing. Sometimes, there is someone who rubs you the wrong way. But, even when that happened, the team was professional and competent. Michelle was great at keeping things on track and communicating with me. Sally was great when we started changing gears and I had a million questions. The whole nursing and phlebotomist teams were amazing when I had challenges with blood draws.
Describe your experience with Kindbody - Los Angeles.
Kindbody gives great care across the board. However, the communication can be a big challenge since they are such a huge organization. I love the offices that I went to and their staff is wonderful. But sometimes getting something done that included team members outside of that could be a huge challenge.
Describe the costs associated with your care under Holly Mehr at Kindbody - Los Angeles.
I had an insurance benefit so I only paid $2000-$3000 for PGT-A testing and then $5000 for PGT-M testing through an outside lab.
Describe Holly Mehr's approach to eSET (elective single embryo transfer) vs. multiple embryo transfer at Kindbody - Los Angeles.
We did not do any embryo transfers while I was under Dr. Mehr's care.
I was with Dr. Mehr for a year while going through the fertility process. She was always very open and thorough in explaining each step of treatment and each medication and how it worked. This gave me a lot of confidence and took a lot of the anxiety out of the process. She was also extremely supportive of my particular circumstance and made me feel really well cared for...I came to her in 2022 as I was approaching 40 to pursue the single mom by choice path. She was extremely supportive of my journey and made me feel comfortable from the outset.
Kindbody's strength is definitely in it's staff. From the doctors all the way down to the medical receptionists, everyone is lovely to interact with. I think the aesthetic of the clinics are also really great - they are very warm and inviting and take away that sterile doctors office vibe which can ease anxiety. I also think the accessibility of the portal is nice - being able to easily send messages and track your journey is very convenient. I think the main weakness at this clinic is overall communication.
How was your experience with Holly Mehr at Kindbody - Los Angeles?
I really loved my time as Dr. Mehr's patient. I came to her in 2022 as I was approaching 40 to pursue the single mom by choice path. She was extremely supportive of my journey and made me feel comfortable from the outset. We were all surprised when my first IUI resulted in a pregnancy and when that pregnancy miscarried she was so kind and stayed and chatted with me for a while after the confirming ultrasound. She is very good about talking through each procedure, expectations and possible results. I always felt well informed throughout each step of my journey. She also spent a good amount of time with me during visits talking about next steps and what to expect. I never felt like our appointments were rushed or like she was too busy to answer questions. She is also great about infusing you with confidence because I would often go to appointments with a lot of built up anxiety and leave feeling so much relief.
What's one piece of advice would you give a prospective patient of Holly Mehr at Kindbody - Los Angeles?
Write out all of your questions and don't feel shy about asking them.

Describe the protocols Holly Mehr used in your cycles at Kindbody - Los Angeles and their degree of success.
For my first IUI, after discussing it we went with a natural cycle because I wasn't presenting with infertility. This IUI produced a pregnancy that ended in miscarriage.
My second IUI we did a course of Clomid to up the chances of multiple eggs and increase the chance of a successful pregnancy. While I did release 2 eggs during this cycle this IUI resulted in a negative pregnancy test.
My final attempt was a round of IVF. I made the decision to move to IVF after consulting with Dr. Mehr because it was covered under my insurance. I believe we followed a standard IVF protocol, which resulted in 11 retrieved eggs, 5 embryos and 1 genetically healthy embryo (which I understood to be average for my age range).
Describe your experience with the nursing staff at Kindbody - Los Angeles.
The nursing staff (and ultrasound techs) are all really lovely. Anytime I interacted with anyone in person at the clinic they were wonderful.
The way that Kindbody works is you get a dedicated nurse coordinator that helps you at the front end of any procedures (this includes medication ordering, coordinating signatures on documents and initial care visits). Then once you are going to the clinic for appointments the in-house nurses take over care including communication, appointment management and medication dosing). Kindbody mostly communicates via email through their portal. Sometimes that can be frustrating because you aren't always talking to the same person and it can create confusion and delays in response so you have to practice patience in that respect.

I think the main weakness at this clinic is overall communication. Because you cannot call the clinics directly, when you need to talk someone you are put into a phone bank where at least 50% of the time you cannot get a human to answer. You are forced leave a message and in my experience you do not always get a callback. I also had some struggles in reaching the billing department over my time there and getting answers from the benefits team is an extremely long process.
Describe the costs associated with your care under Holly Mehr at Kindbody - Los Angeles.
I was very fortunate that my procedures were all covered under my insurance. As a result, I paid only co-pays for all of my visits for IUIs and for my IVF treatment I paid a total of around $2000 (including medication costs) for the entire process, not including PGT testing which cost around $4000.
What specific things went wrong at Kindbody - Los Angeles?
Failed to call in prescriptions to pharmacy
Describe the specific things that went wrong at Kindbody - Los Angeles.
During my IUI in November 2022 my normal nurse coordinator was out of office and the substitute forgot to order the trigger shot from my pharmacy. As a result I had to get a trigger shot from the clinic because there wasn't enough time for the prior authorization to be done and the medication to be shipped before I was ready to trigger.
Dr. Mehr...helped me with a tube removal, and encouraged (but didn't pressure) me to start IVF...is patient, kind, and extremely knowledgeable...is always referencing new studies...she took notes, took her time to talk with me, repeated my concerns, and followed up after the appointment with care.

How was your experience with Holly Mehr at Kindbody - Los Angeles?
I am thoroughly impressed and thankful for Dr. Mehr. She helped me with a tube removal, and encouraged (but didn't pressure) me to start IVF. After 4 years of infertility, it is exciting to have a little one on the way with the help of Dr. Mehr. She is patient, kind, and extremely knowledgeable. She is always referencing new studies to keep information at top of mind when pursuing the best treatment. I would recommend Dr. Mehr to anyone and everyone.
What's one piece of advice would you give a prospective patient of Holly Mehr at Kindbody - Los Angeles?
Trust her knowledge, don't trust Google.
During treatment, were you treated like a number or a human with Holly Mehr at Kindbody - Los Angeles?
Previously to Dr. Mehr, I had experienced fertility doctors who would forget my name, wouldn't properly listen to my concerns, or outright dismiss my concerns saying "You're young, just drink KoolAid and you'll be pregnant in a year" after 3 years of infertility.
The first appointment with Dr. Mehr, I was in awe of show she took notes, took her time to talk with me, repeated my concerns, and followed up after the appointment with care.

Dr. Sundheimer was candid about the success rates of both, advising additional lab tests for a more informed decision-making process....confirmation of PCOS and a genetic disorder diagnosis...[her] methodical and comprehensive approach reassured us that we are on the right path
KindBody has several notable strengths...upfront cost transparency...convenience of their online portal...offers valuable online resources, such as detailed medication guides, instructional content on administering treatments, and weekly Zoom support group meetings...challenge is the frequency of direct consultations with the doctor
How was your experience with Lauren Sundheimer at Kindbody - Los Angeles?
My husband and I had our first consultation with Dr. Sundheimer via Zoom, as KindBody conducts initial consultations virtually. The half-hour appointment allowed us to discuss our history and concerns in detail. We had already undergone some lab tests and were considering IVF or IUI options. Dr. Sundheimer was candid about the success rates of both, advising additional lab tests for a more informed decision-making process. While we uploaded our previous tests, some were outdated, necessitating new tests through KindBody. Despite the extra cost and effort, these tests provided a comprehensive understanding of our situation. Remarkably, after six years of exploratory tests with our primary care physicians, KindBody’s thorough approach led to the confirmation of PCOS and a genetic disorder diagnosis. This revelation offered us more insight into our condition than we had received from any other medical consultations. Dr. Sundheimer’s methodical and comprehensive approach reassured us that we are on the right path.
While we haven’t yet met Dr. Sundheimer in person, KindBody’s online portal facilitates ongoing communication. This feature allows us to reach out to her with questions at any time, enhancing our comfort and confidence in the process. Our follow-up appointment was conducted by her Nurse Practitioner, who impressed us with their knowledge and personable demeanor. However, interacting with multiple staff members across KindBody’s nationwide network sometimes creates confusion. Distinguishing between administrative personnel and the team of care professionals directly involved in our case can be challenging. Despite this, the overall experience remains positive, and we appreciate the accessibility and support provided by KindBody's diverse team.
What's one piece of advice would you give a prospective patient of Lauren Sundheimer at Kindbody - Los Angeles?
If I were to offer one piece of advice for a prospective patient of Dr. Lauren Sundheimer, it would be:
Be Open and Prepared for Your Consultation: Dr. Sundheimer is known for her thorough and candid approach. To make the most of your consultation, come prepared with your medical history, any relevant lab tests, and a list of questions or concerns you have. Being open and honest about your medical background and treatment goals allows Dr. Sundheimer to provide the most personalized and effective care. Additionally, her straightforwardness in discussing treatment options, including success rates and necessary procedures, requires patients to be prepared for clear, sometimes direct, medical advice. Embrace this as an opportunity to gain a comprehensive understanding of your condition and the potential treatment paths available to you.
During treatment, were you treated like a number or a human with Lauren Sundheimer at Kindbody - Los Angeles?
Every visit to the office for lab work was a comforting experience, thanks to the staff's warm and welcoming demeanor. Their genuine kindness shone through, making me feel not just a patient, but a valued individual. My husband and niece, who occasionally accompanied me, were also greeted with the same warmth and inclusivity. This personal touch was immensely reassuring, especially before undergoing procedures. A particularly touching moment was during an ultrasound, when a nurse’s empathetic conversation brought me to tears. Her words of comfort resonated deeply, offering a sense of understanding and solace that was rare in my infertility journey. It was a relief to find others who empathized with the emotional ups and downs I was experiencing. Overall, the staff's compassionate approach not only eased my visits but also left a lasting, positive impact on my journey.
Describe the protocols Lauren Sundheimer used in your cycles at Kindbody - Los Angeles and their degree of success.
My treatment strategy is not yet final. I am undergoing this process right now.
Describe your experience with the nursing staff at Kindbody - Los Angeles.
The nursing staff at the clinic were exceptional in their kindness and personability. Their comforting presence was especially noticeable during my ultrasound and saline tests. They consistently communicated throughout each procedure, attentively checking on my comfort and doing everything possible to ensure I felt at ease. Furthermore, their support extended beyond medical care. During blood tests, they were instrumental in coordinating with my primary health insurance, significantly helping to reduce my expenses. Each visit was made more pleasant because of the nursing staff's warmth and professionalism, making me actually look forward to my appointments.
Describe your experience with Kindbody - Los Angeles.
Working with KindBody has several notable strengths. First and foremost is their upfront cost transparency. Their website clearly details the prices for various procedures and packages, allowing me to effectively plan and budget during my initial research. Additionally, the convenience of their online portal is a significant advantage. It consolidates essential information, including lab results, communication with healthcare professionals, fertility plan overviews, and billing, all in one accessible location. This feature has been instrumental in keeping my medical journey organized.
Furthermore, KindBody offers valuable online resources, such as detailed medication guides, instructional content on administering treatments, and weekly Zoom support group meetings. These resources have been a great comfort, particularly during moments when I needed to share and vent my frustrations with others who understand my journey.
However, there are areas where KindBody could improve. One challenge is the frequency of direct consultations with the doctor, especially in the early stages. As I haven’t started my procedure yet, most of my interactions have been through the portal. While convenient for some, this may be less ideal for those who prefer face-to-face interactions. Additionally, the communication with various staff members through the portal can sometimes be confusing, particularly in distinguishing administrative staff from nurses on my care team. A clearer indication of staff roles within the portal would be beneficial.
For new patients, I recommend vigilance in tracking communications and seeking clarifications on pricing, procedures, and lab work. Ensuring you have written records can be crucial for avoiding misunderstandings later on.
Describe the costs associated with your care under Lauren Sundheimer at Kindbody - Los Angeles.
KindBody's IVF package is $15,800. Additional services such as medications, storage fees, freezing, etc. cost extra. Their embryo PGT testing is roughly $3,300. Initial lab work can go up to $2,000+. KindBody has a Black Friday deal for 15% off IVF package, but certain agreements apply, and I'm not sure how often they run these.
Describe Lauren Sundheimer's approach to eSET (elective single embryo transfer) vs. multiple embryo transfer at Kindbody - Los Angeles.
Dr. Sundheimer is amazing as a physician. She is knowledgeable and passionate. She has probably figured me out in terms of my plans during IVF. She has been hands on and highly involved during this whole process. And things get done very quickly. She’s super awesome and cool to talk to and she has great bedside manners. She has an amazing story of her motivation for helping people going through infertility. I look for not only the credentials, but the passion. Dealing with me and my emotions and worry through the process, I felt at ease talking with her and her team. Communication is important and Dr. Sundheimer has been stellar. Really love her enthusiasm and reminders of even the “little wins”.

What's one piece of advice would you give a prospective patient of Lauren Sundheimer at Kindbody - Los Angeles?
Everyone coming in should come up with a plan A and B of what they want like goals (how many children, gender, age to have children etc). Dr. Sundheimer works with you in those goals and give some stats to expect. She is also open and does not just give you a one way answer or just the plan. Instead, she will ask you your thoughts and what route you want to do.

Dr. Sundheimer had checked in often, and even calling and zooming. She sent me messages in the portal right after retrievals and I can just tell she cares. Shoutout to her colleagues and team because it’s been amazing. One of the best healthcare I have had!
Describe the protocols Lauren Sundheimer used in your cycles at Kindbody - Los Angeles and their degree of success.
IUI - standard I think, clomid PO and then Ovidrel trigger. Negative pregnancy.
IVF egg retrieval #1: Menopur and Follistim for stimulation, Novarel and Lupron to trigger -6 eggs, 4 fertilized, 2 genetically great embryos.
Egg retrieval #2: same but add on Omnitrope for egg quality (added a bunch of supplements: CoQ10 (taking ubiquinol) 600 mg daily. 7 eggs, 5 fertilized, 2 embryos that had genetic abnormalities.
Egg retrieval #3: same as #2, added additional Ganirelix for twice a day since cycle ran longer - added magnesium threonate supplement on own. 7 eggs and 5 fertilized, 3 embryos - one euploid, two aneuploid. Cabergoline - for potential OHSS because estradiol levels went above 4k.
Egg retrieval #4: same as #3, and cycle ran even longer, added NAD+ supplement recommended by Dr. Sundheimer. Just had egg retrieval - 11 eggs, 8 successful fertilization pending PGT-A.
Describe your experience with your nurse at Kindbody - Los Angeles. (Assigned nurse: Aphril )
First, amazing staff as a whole including after hours. On occasion communicated with Sally, main nurse is Aphril. Superb care. You can tell they care and thankful they gave me my Ganirelix injections and Aphril is so on top of communicating my plans and instructions are clear. When she sent on vacation, I honestly was so glad when she came back because she knows my history and works well with her team and Dr. Sundheimer. She sounds compassionate and very easy to talk to and feels comfortable to ask questions. She earned a raise!!
Describe your experience with Kindbody - Los Angeles.
I am a fan of the communication - it’s in person, on zoom, on the phone, and portal messaging. Also great with after hours line and text! The portal keeps everything up to date with resources, test/lab results, chats, billing, etc. the clinics are so chic and inviting even for procedures. The staff are fantastic, so friendly and nice from phlebotomy to front desk to sonographers and nurse and every doc is amazing! They are top notch experts based on my research of their backgrounds. But they are so humble and are professional while having on chic clothing. The distances can be far but it’s our choice as patients. Weakness: not within my health plan but I still chose them because other places didn’t seem a good fit. They do packages which is nice and I hear very comparable to other places. I see all their videos on YouTube and are have tik tok etc. They care to bring awareness and knowledge. Also omg the support groups are excellent with Tonya Woods. I needed this during the whole process and it’s included! I’m sure I am forgetting as I review but will add more later. The nature of IVF is complicated. Good communication and coordination is key. Oh and they have two specialty pharmacies that work well for me. MDR IS THE BEST :)

I went through 2 cycles with Dr. Sundheimer. Dr. S is very thorough in communicating expectations which makes the process a little less stressful. She was available to answer all my questions whether it be in-person, over the phone, or through the online portal. She's very compassionate and a true patient advocate. I'm very pleased with my experience and recommend Dr. S to everyone...The process can be stressful and scary but Dr. S makes it a bit easier.
Everyone I've seen in person at the Kindbody clinics are very friendly and welcoming - they put you at ease. The online portal is beneficial with communicating to various team members including billing. If it's not the patient care team it may take a few days for a response...I utilized the Newport Beach mobile clinic for monitoring visits - super efficient. I would be in and out in 10 minutes. Both initial assessments and retrievals were done at the Santa Monica location

Describe the protocols Lauren Sundheimer used in your cycles at Kindbody - Los Angeles and their degree of success.
First cycle was an estrogen priming cycle - my body was slow to respond and the outcome was successful but not ideal.
Second cycle was a luteal phase cycle - my body responded much faster and the results were better.
Describe your experience with your nurse at Kindbody - Los Angeles. (Assigned nurse: Aphril )
For my first cycle the patient care coordinator left a lot to be desired. I won't name names but I was so relieved she was not assigned for my second cycle. She wasn't responsive and created a lot more stress then necessary.
My second cycle Aphril was the patient care coordinator and she was a dream to work with!! Very responsive, encouraging, and I knew I could count on her if I had a question or concern. For any future cycles I will definitely request her.
Joanna was the nurse for my monitoring visits and she was great! No pain for blood draws and very personable.
Kiana was the ultrasound tech for monitoring and she also made the process alot easier. She was very encouraging each visit and her positive attitude was infectious.

Describe the costs associated with your care under Lauren Sundheimer at Kindbody - Los Angeles.
First cycle was approx $6k without medications. Medications were about $6k through MDR.
Second cycle was about $5k (Kindbody was running a promo) - medications were approx $5k.
These prices were aligned with my expectations for costs.
Dr. Sundheimer is fantastic and optimistic...is very down to earth and explains things in an accessible way...had to deliver hard news multiple times to us and always approached it with compassion and options moving forward...didn't leave us without potential answers...successful transfer with our adopted embryos (we transferred both, but only one took)
Kindbody did a fantastic job from beginning to end...everyone was kind and respectful. They are straightforward about billing and quick with results...Aphril did a great job with all the details. She was helpful and communicative...still building out the Newport Beach office, so we had to go to Santa Monica for our transfer and a couple of appointments

What's one piece of advice would you give a prospective patient of Lauren Sundheimer at Kindbody - Los Angeles?
Working with Dr. Sundheimer is a fantastic experience. If you have had rough experiences before, Dr. Sundheimer is a breath of fresh air.
During treatment, were you treated like a number or a human with Lauren Sundheimer at Kindbody - Los Angeles?
Dr. Sundheimer was warm and empathetic from the outset. I have a long medical history and she patiently went through the whole of it with me and was encouraging and straightforward. She gives helpful information and guidance, but allowed my husband and I to be in the driver's seat as far as decision-making went.
Describe the protocols Lauren Sundheimer used in your cycles at Kindbody - Los Angeles and their degree of success.
We had several cycles have to be postponed due to my hormones being weird. Dr. Sundheimer did research and consulted with colleagues and didn't leave us without potential answers. We ended up completing our cycle with POI, progesterone suppositories, and estradiol tabs. We had a successful transfer with our adopted embryos (we transferred both, but only one took).

Aphril did a great job with all the details. She was helpful and communicative.
Describe your experience with Kindbody - Los Angeles.
Kindbody did a fantastic job from beginning to end. The only hiccup we encountered was not really anyone's fault. They are (at the time of this review) still building out the Newport Beach office, so we had to go to Santa Monica for our transfer and a couple of appointments which was slightly inconvenient. But everyone was kind and respectful. They are straightforward about billing and quick with results.
Describe the costs associated with your care under Lauren Sundheimer at Kindbody - Los Angeles.
We went through our insurance so we were only billed what our copays and coinsurance were. The only out-of-pocket expense was the fee for transporting our embryos into their clinic which I believe was $500. In total, we paid around $800.
Describe Lauren Sundheimer's approach to eSET (elective single embryo transfer) vs. multiple embryo transfer at Kindbody - Los Angeles.
We asked to transfer both our embryos at the same time. After looking into our history and the history of our adopted embryos, Dr. Sundheimer was very clear about the risks of multiples, but agreed to transfer both. We were grateful. We had one embryo end up implanting.
I am extremely disappointed with my experience with Anupama Kathiresan...felt like I was just another number...just meet with you once or twice over zoom for the whole process...never even saw her in person...told me it was basically impossible to get pregnant naturally with my AMH levels
[The Kindbody - Los Angeles] nursing staff was compassionate...They would even discuss how many follicles other patients had...provided me with conflicting information about when and how to take certain drugs...financial aspect was just one of many frustrations...lack of coordination and communication
How was your experience with Anupama Kathiresan at Kindbody - Los Angeles?
I am extremely disappointed with my experience with Anupama Kathiresan. From the very beginning, I felt like I was just another number to her, rather than an individual with unique needs and concerns. The entire process felt like a farm, lacking the personal touch and care that is crucial in such a sensitive and significant journey. When I would insist on phone calls to gain better understanding, she made it pretty clear how inconvenient it was for her since she's hoping to just meet with you once or twice over zoom for the whole process (the nurses take care of the everything else).
Throughout my treatment, I never even saw her in person. This lack of face-to-face interaction made me feel disconnected and uncertain about the care I was receiving. It became clear to me that she was more focused on getting money out of me than providing genuine care and support.
She even told me it was basically impossible to get pregnant naturally with my AMH levels, but three other fertility experts have pointed me to studies that say otherwise (I went to see other experts because I frankly could no longer trust her). I am convinced the only reason she told me that was to scare me into doing more fertility treatments. This kind of manipulation is unethical and deeply troubling.
What's one piece of advice would you give a prospective patient of Anupama Kathiresan at Kindbody - Los Angeles?
I'd honeslty suggest not seeing her at all. She is clearly not passionate about making sure patients have a good experience and is just making sure she spends as little time with the patient as possible.
During treatment, were you treated like a number or a human with Anupama Kathiresan at Kindbody - Los Angeles?
Throughout my treatment, I never saw my doctor in person, which contributed to a feeling of disconnection and uncertainty about the care I was receiving. The absence of face-to-face interaction made it difficult to establish a personal connection and trust with my healthcare provider. Instead of feeling like a valued patient, I felt like just another case number in their system. This impersonal approach led me to believe that their primary focus was on extracting money from me rather than offering genuine care and support. The experience left me feeling undervalued and more like a revenue source than a patient in need of compassionate and personalized medical attention.
Describe the protocols Anupama Kathiresan used in your cycles at Kindbody - Los Angeles and their degree of success.
I inquired about other protocols because I had started doing my own research, as it felt like the information I was getting from her was superficial. When I asked why we were following one protocol over another, she simply responded that it was the most common one. In hindsight, I should have walked away at that point. It was evident that she didn't consider my specific situation before choosing a protocol and was likely just defaulting to what she was most familiar with.
Describe your experience with the nursing staff at Kindbody - Los Angeles.
The nursing staff was compassionate, but each visit I had a different nurse who seemed unprepared for my situation. They would even discuss how many follicles other patients had, which only added to my stress since I had fewer follicles than average. While I appreciated the nurses' kindness, the experience felt disorganized, and I felt like just another number because no one seemed informed about my specific case.
Describe your experience with Kindbody - Los Angeles.
The clinic's billing department is a mess, and I am still receiving bills to this day. Trying to get in touch with them is a nightmare; you are routed multiple times to different people before finally reaching the billing department, only to leave a message that is never returned. This leaves you with bills you don't understand, arriving almost 1.5 years after paying over $10,000.
The clinic frequently redirects you to new individuals or departments for specific questions, making it feel like a constant runaround. No one seems willing to sit down with you to answer all of your questions comprehensively. This lack of coordination and communication adds to the frustration and stress of an already challenging process.
I deeply regret choosing this clinic. I was fooled by their marketing and should have known better than to entrust such an important medical procedure to a place that rushes patients in and out, leaving them feeling like an inconvenience. Instead, I should have sought out a clinic that prioritizes patient comfort and ensures all questions are answered thoroughly even if that meant I'd need to pay a little more.
Describe your experience with your monitoring appointments at Kindbody - Los Angeles.
I could not attend monitoring appointments at times that were convenient for me; instead, I had to work around their rigid schedule. This added a significant amount of stress to an already difficult process. It became increasingly clear that the clinic's definition of "success" was not focused on achieving the best outcomes for each patient. Rather, their priority seemed to be getting people in and out quickly, merely checking off boxes to show they had completed necessary steps.
This impersonal and rushed approach made me feel like just another number in their system, and I genuinely believe that the decisions made during my treatment likely had a negative impact on my egg freezing process. The lack of flexibility and personal attention was deeply disappointing.
In hindsight, I truly wish I had chosen a clinic that emphasized a personal touch and patient-centered care. A clinic that values the individual needs and circumstances of its patients would have provided a much more supportive and effective environment for such a critical and sensitive procedure. The experience has left me with significant regret and a strong sense that I should have sought care from a place that genuinely prioritizes patient outcomes over procedural efficiency.
Describe the costs associated with your care under Anupama Kathiresan at Kindbody - Los Angeles.
The costs for my treatment at the clinic exceeded $10,000, but looking back, I would have gladly gone elsewhere and paid even more to receive better treatment. The financial aspect was just one of many frustrations. Despite the substantial amount I paid, I continue to receive unexpected bills long after the treatment was completed, adding to the stress and dissatisfaction of my overall experience.
The recurring and delayed billing issues are indicative of the disorganization and lack of transparency at the clinic. Knowing what I know now, I would have preferred to invest in a clinic that offers superior care, clear communication, and a more personalized approach. The peace of mind and higher quality of care would have been worth the additional cost, ensuring a more supportive and less stressful journey through such a significant medical procedure.
What specific things went wrong at Kindbody - Los Angeles?
Failed to call in prescriptions to pharmacy
Lost appointments
Failed to call with results
Failed to order appropriate test
Failed to send your chart to another clinic
Lost results
Provided conflicting information
Failed to convey critical information
Failed to consider drug intolerance
Describe the specific things that went wrong at Kindbody - Los Angeles.
The clinic also provided me with conflicting information about when and how to take certain drugs. At one point, they assured me they could supply extra medication, only to later inform me they had run out and that I needed to order it from my pharmacy. This caused significant stress, as I had very little time to place the order and ensure the drugs arrived on time.
Additionally, my estrogen levels spiked so high that I had a really hard time post-egg retrieval. It seemed like they didn't consider the drugs and hormones already in my system and just kept pumping me with more. After doing more research and consulting with other fertility experts, I learned that administering excessive hormones near the end of the process to try to get more eggs can actually have negative effects. None of these potential risks were communicated to me, and I only discovered this information on my own and through other professionals.
I constantly felt like I had to chase the clinic down for information and to confirm my appointments. For example, I was extremely concerned that my egg retrieval might fall on Christmas. When I brought this up, they finally adjusted the schedule so it didn't coincide with the holiday. This adjustment was concerning because if Christmas was truly the optimal day for retrieval, I would have preferred to proceed then rather than delay by a day or two. This lack of clear planning and communication about the pros and cons of such a delay was troubling.
Overall, the process felt poorly planned, and the lack of communication left me feeling uncertain and stressed. It became clear that important decisions were being made without my input or proper briefing. This experience, compounded by the need to chase down basic information, left me deeply dissatisfied and regretful of choosing this clinic for such a significant medical procedure.
Dr. Armstrong was compassionate and nonjudgmental...caught some symptoms that could have led to a relevant diagnosis and ordered blood work to confirm...I was responding strongly to the medication and she lowered my doses accordingly...egg freezing, and we used Follistim, Menopur, Ganirelix, and a Lupron trigger
Kindbody was great overall. I appreciated the welcoming space...loved the ultrasound tech I saw most of the time...only issue I had was with the online portal—I wish I had gotten clearer instructions about who to message about what...had issues getting an itemized receipt from Kindbody at the beginning of the cycle
How was your experience with Abigail Armstrong at Kindbody - Los Angeles?
Dr. Armstrong was compassionate and nonjudgmental; she took time to understood my needs within the timeframe of my cycle and beyond. She explained how the egg freezing process works in a way I could understand, and she helped me set reasonable expectations based on my overall health.
Dr. Armstrong also caught some symptoms that could have led to a relevant diagnosis and ordered blood work to confirm. My general practitioner never put those clues together, so I'm so glad Dr. Armstrong did! I did not meet diagnostic criteria for that condition, but it's something I now know to keep my eye on.
I got the results I wanted—actually, even better—and I'm grateful for her guidance!
What's one piece of advice would you give a prospective patient of Abigail Armstrong at Kindbody - Los Angeles?
I totally trusted Dr. Armstrong with whatever questions I had, and she did a great job answering them. Don't be shy—if you're confused or have concerns, ask!
During treatment, were you treated like a number or a human with Abigail Armstrong at Kindbody - Los Angeles?
Dr. Armstrong was personable and warm; in our very first appointment, she took time to get to know me, and she considered my fertility goals in the greater context of my life.
Describe the protocols Abigail Armstrong used in your cycles at Kindbody - Los Angeles and their degree of success.
I did egg freezing, and we used Follistim, Menopur, Ganirelix, and a Lupron trigger. Every couple of days, Dr. Armstrong reviewed my dosages; I was responding strongly to the medication and she lowered my doses accordingly.
Describe your experience with the nursing staff at Kindbody - Los Angeles.
Nursing staff was great, but we did have some communication mixups related to Kindbody's online portal and messaging system. For example, the first time my medication my dosage was adjusted, a nurse told me over direct message, but it wasn't updated in the portal, so I had mixed messages about what dosage to use that day. I had a hard time reaching a nurse to double check right away, and I didn't get clarification until my next appointment. I went with what I was told over DM, which was correct, but if things had gone the other way I would have been giving myself the wrong dose!
Describe your experience with Kindbody - Los Angeles.
Kindbody was great overall. I appreciated the welcoming space. (The dim, warm light and calming music in the treatment rooms doesn't seem that important until you're in there with a probe up your hoo-ha every other day.) My doctor was great, and I especially loved the ultrasound tech I saw most of the time. And my procedure was way easier than I thought it was going to be—I was up and out in no time, and back to work the very next day.
The only issue I had was with the online portal—I wish I had gotten clearer instructions about who to message about what, and I wish I was told you could message your clinical team as a whole, rather than just message back a single nurse or coordinator. Could have saved a headache (and the possibility of a dosing mishap) when there was a tech issue!
Describe the costs associated with your care under Abigail Armstrong at Kindbody - Los Angeles.
I had coverage through my work; they had issues charging my FSA directly (which was my fault), so we charged my credit card for the full amount at the beginning of my cycle, and I had to reach out to my FSA for reimbursement. I had issues getting an itemized receipt from Kindbody at the beginning of the cycle, but they said they would get one to me when my cycle was over. (They did not take initiative to follow up with that itemized receipt; I had to request it again.)

How was your experience with Anupama Kathiresan at Kindbody - Los Angeles?
Majority of my visits with Dr. Kathiresan was done virtually. It did feel a little distant in the beginning but throughout the course of our journey, I was assured that even though our visits are virtual, she is attentive and was able to assess my situation based on my blood work and ultrasounds. She is empathetic, compassionate, and personable during our phone calls and virtual visits- which I appreciate.
I did 3 egg retrievals with Kindbody and all 3 was performed by the doctor who was operating that day. During my 3rd retrieval, we noticed that my right ovary is hard to get to and they noted it in my chart. Prior to the retrieval, Dr. K assured me that it is noted in my chart and the Dr. operating that day is well aware. That retrieval was the one that got the most eggs- so I do believe the doctors talk amongst each other to prep each other.
Prior to the FET, she suspected that my uterus has a uterine polyp after viewing one of my ultrasounds during the egg retrieval process. I saw Dr. Kathiresan in person for my saline sonogram procedure and she is the same in person- personable, attentive, kind, and reassuring. I'm so glad that she did my saline sonogram because it was like a mock FET transfer; during the saline sonogram, we realized my cervix dips down and it makes it hard for the catheter to get to the uterus. She suggested that we add a stitch to my crevix so during the FET, she can tug on the stitch to make my cervix straighter and for the catheter to easily go in. She patiently went through all our options for the FET (adding a stitch or some patients are put under general anesthesia), discussed the FET process in detail, answered all my questions and addressed all my concerns. Adding the stitch to the cervix is something new that we've never heard and she explained that she learned this while practicing in Texas. It was common at the last clinic she practiced at and less so here. She also said she's done it quite a bit which is reassuring. We decided to add a stitch to my cervix during my hysteroscopy surgery.
For my FET, the clinic unfortunately had a water leak and we could not perform the FET at the clinic but rather at a 3rd party clinic. That sent my anxiety through the roof. Dr. Kathiresan called me and reassured me that the whole team (her, the nurse, and embryologist) will be there and make sure the clinic has everything they need and set up properly. I was still nervous because it is a different environment for the team and there is sooo much room for human error but the FET went smoothly and I can't thank Dr. K enough for reassuring me and making sure everything was under control. Dr. K was calm the whole time and that calmed me down as well.
What's one piece of advice would you give a prospective patient of Anupama Kathiresan at Kindbody - Los Angeles?
I understand Dr. Kathiresan has a lot of patients and sometimes, I have to remind Dr. Kathiresan of our last conversation. She does double check my chart during our conversations just to be sure.
During treatment, were you treated like a number or a human with Anupama Kathiresan at Kindbody - Los Angeles?
I first met with Dr. Kathiresan in Q4 of 2022. Our communication at the start of our journey to my egg retrievals (consultation, planning our protocols, discussing our results, discussing next steps, etc) was done virtually. Though it felt a little distant in the beginning because everything was done virtually and it was my nursing team who did all my check ups (bloodwork & ultrasounds), every time I talked to dr. Kathiresan, she answered all the questions and addressed all our concerns with a warm approach- which I appreciate. Sometimes, you'd want a for-sure answer but after going through multiple rounds of egg retrieval and having different results every time, you just realize nothing is 100%. Dr. Kathiresan was able to tell us the pros and cons with each protocol and her own success rate/experience with each and that helped us assess and plan for the next protocol.
The nursing team is also amazing- every time I walk into the clinic, I am greeted warmly. The nurses and I have gotten to know each other and they're super friendly and welcoming. I also like their patient portal- it was convenient and I was able to message my care team right away where they would respond by the end of the day.
Describe the protocols Anupama Kathiresan used in your cycles at Kindbody - Los Angeles and their degree of success.
My first protocol was a follicular phase protocol with estrogen priming. The estrogen priming gave me really bad migraines for days and it was debilitating. Dr. K explained that it is common as it's the same hormone that causes headaches during your period. If you're likely to experience headaches or migraines during your period, you'll most likely experience the same during estrogen priming. The migraine went away after day 3. I started with 150u menopur, Gonal-F 225u then increased to 300u on day 5, Omnitrope 35u, Ganirelix, and triggered with Lurpon and Novarel. 7 eggs retrieved, 3 fertilized, 2 blasts, and 1 PGT-A Euploid.
I wanted to go into the 2nd ER right away so Dr. K suggested we do a Luteal Phase protocol (this is after I ovulate). I was on Clomid 10mg for 5 days, Provera 5mg for 10 days, Menopur 150u, Omnitrope 35u, Gonal-F 300u, and triggered with Lupron & Novarel. During my monitoring, we noticed my right ovary was hard to get to and we retrieved 4 eggs, all 4 fertilized, 3 blasts and 3 PGT-A eupoids.
For the 3rd ER, we decided to go with the same protocol as the 2nd ER yieled the best results. We kept everything the same and we retrieved 13 eggs, 9 fertilized, 7 blasts, and 1 PGT-A euploid. Unfortunately, the 3rd ER yielded the worst results out of the 3 even though we copied the 2nd ER protocol exactly. This is when we realized science is never 100% and it really does differ each time.
Describe your experience with the nursing staff at Kindbody - Los Angeles.
The nursing staff is amazing! They are super welcoming, attentive, caring, friendly and kind. Every time I walk into the clinic, I am greeted warmly.
My blood draws are fairly painless (I'm not afraid of needles and blood draws do not scare me so it might be different for others). During the ultrasound, they show my what they're looking for and explain what they see which I really appreciate. During my ultrasounds when we check if the follicles have grown, they share the sizes with me right away so I feel assured we're right on track. If I have any questions, they'll answer it to the best of their ability or they will check with the doctor and I always get a response by the end of the day.
I can access my team through the patient portal and it's very convenient. I find it easier than calling them and I like to have the paper trail in my portal with all my questions and concerns.
Describe your experience with Kindbody - Los Angeles.
The clinic is very new and modern. I met with a few fertility clinics prior to starting my IVF journey and a few reasons why we decided to proceed with KindBody was because their clinic was more modern and their online portal makes everything super convenient. My results are uploaded into my patient portal right away and I can access my team (dr, nurse, billing, insurance) through the portal. If anything needs to be discussed on the phone, they can easily schedule a 15min call with the doctor as well.
KindBody has 2 offices-- Century City and Santa Monica. I did all my blood work and ultrasounds at Century City and all procedures that require an operating room (egg retrieval, hysteroscopy, saline sonogram) was done at the Santa Monica clinic. Century City is very nice because it's located in the mall and Santa Monica is nice but the homeless situation in LA overall is getting out of hand so I get a little scared walking from the parking lot to the clinic.
Describe the costs associated with your care under Anupama Kathiresan at Kindbody - Los Angeles.
Our fertility benefits through our insurance covered up to 20k, which was 2 cycles of ER. We paid $13,100 for a 3rd ER cycle+ 2 FET. Genetic Testing was $2880 each cycle (so multiply by 3 since we did 3 ER).
All lab work and diagonstic (ultrasound, blood work, consults) was covered by insurance after we met our deductible and out-of-pocket max.
What specific things went wrong at Kindbody - Los Angeles?
Provided conflicting information
Describe the specific things that went wrong at Kindbody - Los Angeles.
I received conflicting instructions for 2 of the medications.
During the estrogen priming stage, I received instructions from the nurse through the message portal to take the medication orally. On my dashboard (the first page you see when you log on), it said to take the medication vaginally. The nurse had to correct the dashboard.
For my trigger shot, I received instructions from the nurse through the message portal for both pregnyl and novarel (depending which one you received from the pharmacy), and she called to double confirm. During the call, I realized the instructions were different from the portal. We clarified which was correct and I'm glad she called to double check so we avoided a potential mishap with meds.
Dr. Brower was knowledgeable and patient with me. I tried three IUIs with kindbody that were not successful and when IVF was suggested my partner and I were not ready. When we were, Dr Brower answered our questions and gave us the time and information we needed to move forward in a way that was comfortable for us and our plan was of the utmost importance to Dr Brower because it was important to us. She was wonderful to work with
[Kindbody is] Accommodating, compassionate, welcoming, and beautiful! No weaknesses that I can recall; everything and everyone is incredibly organized and helpful. I would recommend coming to Kindbody a few minutes early for your apts bc the Santa Monica location can be tough to park...They were very upfront about costs beforehand, but my insurance has a special fertility benefit so I believe I paid a much smaller amount after insurance was billed than a traditional out of pocket patient
How was your experience with Meredith Brower at Kindbody - Los Angeles?

Dr. Brower is brilliant, cautious, thorough, warm, attentive, and thoughtful. I couldn’t have asked for more in a doctor. As someone who often feels anxiety in doctors offices, I never felt anxious around her and found her presence so comforting. We had a surgical procedure performed and she was the perfect balance of professional and compassionate...She remembered the details of our case every time and was never mixed up. When we “graduated” she gave us both big hugs.
Kindbody is beautiful and peaceful and doesn’t feel like a sterile doctors office at all. The front desk was on top of things. We never had a long wait, and I have no complaints about how the office was run. We always got prompt responses and results from our team including phone calls from the doctor, going above and beyond. I wish all doctors offices were like Kindbody...The nurses here talked to me and made me feel so comfortabl

Describe your experience with the nursing staff at Kindbody - Los Angeles.
I have had a history of passing out when giving blood. The nurses here talked to me and made me feel so comfortable in addition to providing me with snacks and juice that I had no issues, even when I had to give 8 vials on one visit! I had never had such an anxiety free blood draw. It was very significant for me.

Wasn't able to see her at every visit (my issue, not hers, because I had to come super-early for work) and she [Dr. Brower] called me every afternoon to talk about results. Was wonderful about being to able to both make her own recommendations on how I should proceed but also give me the space to make my own decisions. So warm and reassuring during ER process (my first time getting any kind of procedure)
[Kindbody has a] Beautiful office. Nice online setup with teaching, education, ways to monitor meds and progress. Easy to communicate with staff and make appointments. Everyone is super-professional and friendly. payment easy to figure out and prices are clear...$6500 procedure + approximately $4000 meds..

How was your experience with Holly Mehr at Kindbody - Los Angeles?
Coming completely out of left field, at twenty-nine I found out I have a genetic problem that might affect my own fertility as well as the health of my future children. Feeling apprehensive, my fiancé and I began creating embryos under the supervision of Dr. Mehr. Emotionally she gave me exactly what I needed providing hopeful optimism without giving me unrealistic expectations for success. She demonstrated patience with my steep learning curve, taking the time to explain complicated concepts and my options. Also, she paid attention to my individual reactions to the medications. This meant that even though I enjoyed more success in the first round than anticipated, Dr. Mehr adjusted her protocol for the second round and doubled the number of blastocytes that successfully grew to day 5! I cannot recommend her enough.
