Doctor Lynn gave me her estimation of the number of eggs that could be retrieved and frozen based on my diagnostic data...understood there would be a difference between the estimation and the end result, but the 75% target missing just indicated unprofessional...could only talk to the doctor once during the first consultation for 30 minutes
Strengths [of Kindbody - Silicon Valley]: Fancy website and clean environment...Weakness...communication was chaos. I was drained emotionally and suffered from OHSS in the end...nurse-to-patient ratio was so high that I felt the nursing team was overwhelmed. I could not get the answer on time (always waiting for the call center line)

In the first consultation, Doctor Lynn gave me her estimation of the number of eggs that could be retrieved and frozen based on my diagnostic data. However, the outcome was only 25% of the original estimated number. I understood there would be a difference between the estimation and the end result, but the 75% target missing just indicated unprofessional.
What's one piece of advice would you give a prospective patient of Lynn Westphal at Kindbody - Silicon Valley?
Please note that Kindbody uses a batch process, meaning all patients would take the medication on the same date instead of a customized procedure like most clinics do.
During treatment, were you treated like a number or a human with Lynn Westphal at Kindbody - Silicon Valley?
I could only talk to the doctor once during the first consultation for 30 minutes. After that, the nurse was the only person I could ask questions. And it was even difficult to talk to the nurse because the customer service line was always occupied. And the message response was conflicting. One nurse told me one thing and the other nurse told me the other. The whole communication was chaos.

I was not able to talk to the doctor during the whole treatment and was not able to discuss any strategy with the doctor.
Describe your experience with the nursing staff at Kindbody - Silicon Valley.
The nurse-to-patient ratio was so high that I felt the nursing team was overwhelmed. I could not get the answer on time (always waiting for the call center line), which added to stress and wasted time. They may try to do their best, but the way the business runs, they cannot do more and thus provide conflicting information given so many patients to care for. For example, I was informed to go to the pharmacy on Saturday late afternoon, but I could not get the medicine because the insurance company was closed on the weekend. Eventually, I paid out of pocket and rushed to the pharmacy just before they closed to get the pill. That is just one case of many.

Strengths: Fancy website and clean environment. Weakness: I would not work with this clinic even if they paid me. The result was awful compared to my previous experience. The communication was chaos. I was drained emotionally and suffered from OHSS in the end.

I was told to stop the birth control pill on Tuesday. Then, when I did another confirmation, I was informed the birth control pill should stop on Sunday. I was glad I did the confirmation before taking the action.

Dr. Westphal has a wonderful bedside manner. She was warm and welcoming, and had already reviewed our case history therefore we didn't need to repeat ourselves over and over again. One of the major weaknesses was although she was our doctor, we only met her once at the first appointment. The rest of the meetings were with doctors on site and the nursing team....we just did a transfer with Dr. Westphal.
The clinic [Kindbody - Silicon Valley] is very chic, warm and welcoming. The rooms are very pretty and equipment is brand new. The only weakness is that there are not many Kindbody locations therefore it was almost an hour to drive to the clinic...The nursing staff in charge of blood collection was amazing. They had music playing in the room, and they were extremely kind and compassionate. The receptionist was always warm and welcoming. The nurse who would see me after my appointment was a bit cold and lacked compassion; she was very matter-of-fact in her approach.

Dr. Westphal was well versed with our case history and file. We had started our fertility treatments in Toronto, they had sent over the file to Kindbody and she had reviewed it before we met her which is great.

We had transferred over our eggs from Toronto to Kindbody, therefore we just did a transfer with Dr. Westphal.

My clinic promised that the cost of moving my embryos from Toronto to San Francisco would be covered by my fertility benefits. Later on, once the embryos arrived at the clinic, they delayed my reimbursement for months without any clear communication. Finally, after 8 months I received my reimbursement.
