This is the most recent data from the CDC. The CDC cautions that it should not be used to compare doctors and clinics. This data represents the outcomes of IVF cycles when using a person's own eggs.
For more information please see our FAQs.
Where you see a “?” on the chart, a clinic has done fewer than 20 cycles in this category and age range, so the CDC says showing percentages from this small data set would be misleading and unreliable.
Dr. Bailey is very nice but you will never see her. I have no doubt that if she were the primary contact for your case then things would be very different and run more smoothly...Due to the minimal times you see her, you feel like a number. It's clear she doesn't remember your case and she's even forgotten my name before. She will not be the one completing your IUI, ultrasounds, etc...It takes an act of Congress to even speak with her on the phone and she doesn't do video/tele-health visits so you have to pay $150-$200 (if you don't have insurance) to come in, wait 2 hours, and then only get to speak with her for 10 minutes.
[Kutteh Ke Fertility Associates] Weaknesses: the support staff: billing, the financial counselor, the nurses, front desk staff, etc. They are not all bad and I have had a few pleasant experiences but 9/10 times I am disappointed...Strengths...They've always been able to accommodate my IVF schedule - meaning I was never put on a waitlist or anything for IVF...Another strength would be Dr. Bailey's bedside manner. I think she's very nice and personable and it's a shame you aren't able to engage with her more during treatment. I think my experience here would have been very different if I had dealt with her more and the nurses less.
How was your experience with Amelia Bailey at Kutteh Ke Fertility Associates?
Dr. Bailey is very nice but you will never see her. I have no doubt that if she were the primary contact for your case then things would be very different and run more smoothly. However, it is my opinion that she is taking on WAY too many patients and the quality of patient's care is suffering because of this. I have no doubt she truly cares for her patients but due to the mass amount she is treating, she isn't' dedicating the appropriate amount of time to each patient. My husband and I joke that Dr. Bailey is like the "Great and Powerful Oz" behind the curtain! It takes an act of Congress to even speak with her on the phone and she doesn't do video/tele-health visits so you have to pay $150-$200 (if you don't have insurance) to come in, wait 2 hours, and then only get to speak with her for 10 minutes. I've called the clinic before asking the nurses if I could speak with Dr. Bailey and they avoid letting me at all cost. Eventually I'll would get a call after begging for days.
What's one piece of advice would you give a prospective patient of Amelia Bailey at Kutteh Ke Fertility Associates?
If you aren't prepared to advocate for yourself and basically take on a second job to coordinate your fertility care, then I wouldn't bother with this clinic. No one there is coordinating your care, so as a patient, we are having to take that on. Also, make sure to keep a list of questions in your phone as you think of them and be ready to ask them when you're lucky enough to get Dr. Bailey in a room or on the phone because it's probably the only opportunity you will get to ask those questions for months on end.
During treatment, were you treated like a number or a human with Amelia Bailey at Kutteh Ke Fertility Associates?
Dr. Bailey is very nice and seems knowledgeable but you rarely see her. In the year and a half that I have been a patient, I MAY have seen her 4-5 times. The other times you come in, you will see a nurse, ultrasound tech, or phlebotomist. Due to the minimal times you see her, you feel like a number. It's clear she doesn't remember your case and she's even forgotten my name before. She will not be the one completing your IUI, ultrasounds, etc - it will be a different nurse every time so you never form relationships with any of the staff. But where this clinic REALLY fails is the support staff - nurses, billing/financial, and the front desk staff. When I say they are horrible I truly mean it. They are rude and avoid calls. I have literally had to beg a nurse to call me back when I was about to start my IVF cycle and have had the financial counselor Kim basically tell me to stop contacting them so much...
Describe the protocols Amelia Bailey used in your cycles at Kutteh Ke Fertility Associates and their degree of success.
I had a laparoscopy to look for endometriosis (came back clear), a hysteroscopy to remove polyps, tried 3 medicated IUIs (one of which ended in a chemical pregnancy), and 2 egg retrievals so far using Menopur and Gonal-F.
Describe your experience with the nursing staff at Kutteh Ke Fertility Associates.
I could write a book about the nursing staff. They are HORRIBLE. They don't return calls, delay sending information to your insurance company for prior authorizations, give extremely vague information in the portal on important injections/timing of injections, send crucial treatment info to you in the portal 5 minutes before they close so that when you call them back they are closed and not available to answer questions, plus they fail to offer any sort of injection training beyond telling you to "watch this video". They are extremely disorganized and can't even bother to send you a treatment calendar (I've had so many friends in other cities tell me their clinics give them a simple printed calendar for their IVF treatment schedules). It took me 2 weeks to get the nurse to fill out ONE insurance form for my prior-auth so that my IVF meds could be approved by insurance. I was so close to needing the meds that I almost had to pay $7k out of pocket to get the meds (when it would have been $300 with insurance). The only way I got them to send it in was I physically had to go up to the clinic and basically tell them I wasn't leaving until I spoke to a nurse (they wouldn't return my calls). The worst part is, they gaslight you into thinking you are the crazy one for reaching out for information or asking them to complete insurance forms. As I mentioned earlier, Kim Howell, literally told me to "stop doing so much and let her do her job". Mind you this was after I had been trying to reach her via email for 10 days. She finally reached out 2 days before my appointment telling me I would owe $9,000....which, mind you, was the incorrect amount. I had to do the math for her and correct the amount which she eventually agreed that I was correct. Two days notice is not enough time to come up with $9,000....
Describe your experience with Kutteh Ke Fertility Associates.
Weaknesses: the support staff: billing, the financial counselor, the nurses, front desk staff, etc. They are not all bad and I have had a few pleasant experiences but 9/10 times I am disappointed. It unfortunately because this is already a really stressful time and the clinic adds SO much more unnecessary stress. I mean it when I say that half of my infertility stress could be alleviated if the clinic would just properly do their job.
Strengths: I'm truly grasping at straws to try to find strengths but for me the scheduling of appointments hasn't been bad. They've always been able to accommodate my IVF schedule - meaning I was never put on a waitlist or anything for IVF. They also usually have appointments available within a week or so (depending on what you're doing). Another strength would be Dr. Bailey's bedside manner. I think she's very nice and personable and it's a shame you aren't able to engage with her more during treatment. I think my experience here would have been very different if I had dealt with her more and the nurses less.
Describe the costs associated with your care under Amelia Bailey at Kutteh Ke Fertility Associates.
I was one of the lucky ones who had insurance coverage. However, even if you have insurance, their laboratory is out of network with every insurance company except United (I could also go on a tangent about that as well). So if you have full IVF coverage but don't have United, expect to still pay anywhere from $4,000-$9,000 for one round of IVF (not including genetic testing). Make sure you call your insurance company and request a network gap exception - this is another thing no one at the clinic tells you about or helps with and I had to figure out on my own!
Egg Retrievals: $6,350 each retrieval ($3,175 after insurance reimbursed me)
Frozen Transfer: $2,500 (pending insurance reimbursement)
3 IUIs: $600 each
Office Visits/Ultrasounds - $50 copay
Semen Analysis - $400
For those without insurance, I was told the total cost of IVF was around $18,000 without genetic testing. Expect another $5,000 for PGT/genetic testing.
Describe Amelia Bailey's approach to eSET (elective single embryo transfer) vs. multiple embryo transfer at Kutteh Ke Fertility Associates.
I believe Dr. Bailey said the only time she would do a multiple embryo transfer is if you are over the age of 35 and/or have had multiple failed transfers. I didn't fall into either of those categories so the plan is to transfer one.

If you need a prior-auth (PA) for your insurance - GOOD LUCK! My advice is to stay on top of them, request it so you have plenty of time before treatment, and don't assume they have sent it in. I had to get three PA's in my time there and every time, I had to reach out AT LEAST 4-5 times to get them to complete it. Again, they are going to act annoyed with you and try to gaslight you but who cares...it's your treatment and you have to fight for yourself. They also love to wait to call you/send messages in the portal until like 4:25 (clinic closes at 4:30) and then they'll send pertinent treatment info that you need to start that day and by the time you call them back the clinic has closed for the day so good luck guessing what the extraordinarily vague message in the portal means : ) Another side note, I had a surgery months ago where they sent samples off to confirm it wasn't cancerous and no one ever called with my results so here's to hoping I don't have cancer!
Dr. Bailey has been very compassionate throughout our fertility journey. She was with us through every step of our IVF process. She was not as involved with our IUI process but she still met with us before we decided to do IUI and spent time explaining the differences between our treatment options...[She] suggested with my age and the fact we only froze two embryos that we only transfer one at a time. That approach made total sense to me and I was happy with that plan.
The [Kutteh Ke Fertility Associates] nurses at the front desk make you feel comfortable and are very careful to protect your privacy. One of the weaknesses of the clinic would be their budget department. I have had lots of varying conversations with the woman who works there. She seems to always have different prices and has multiple times has given me incorrect information...It was around 1,500 for an IUI and 11,000 for our first round of IVF.

What's one piece of advice would you give a prospective patient of Amelia Bailey at Kutteh Ke Fertility Associates?
I would recommend coming prepared to the first visit with questions and a notepad because Dr. Bailey will have a lot of information to go over with you. After that don’t hesitate to call the office and leave a message with the nurses with any questions and Dr. Bailey will call you back promptly.
During treatment, were you treated like a number or a human with Amelia Bailey at Kutteh Ke Fertility Associates?
Dr. Bailey has been extremely available when we have questions. She will call me back within the same day to go over anything we needed during the IVF process.
Describe the protocols Amelia Bailey used in your cycles at Kutteh Ke Fertility Associates and their degree of success.
We have unexplained infertility. After we did all of the testing we came back for a meeting with Dr. Bailey and she said we can multiple options. We could continue to try on our own. We could try IUI or we could move onto IVF. She explained the benefits and downsides to each option and let us decide how we wanted to proceed.
Describe your experience with the nursing staff at Kutteh Ke Fertility Associates.
Most of the nursing staff did an absolutely wonderful job throughout our fertility journey. They were kind and answered all of our questions. There was one nurse who I felt could have been a bit more sensitive when I would go in for ultrasounds. I didn’t feel very comfortable asking her questions.

Describe your experience with your monitoring appointments at Kutteh Ke Fertility Associates.
My experience with the monitoring appointments was that they were very efficient. There were two waiting rooms and I would normally be in and out of the office within an hour.
Describe the costs associated with your care under Amelia Bailey at Kutteh Ke Fertility Associates.
The cost of treatments seemed to be very similar to national averages that I researched. It was around 1,500 for an IUI and 11,000 for our first round of IVF.

Describe the specific things that went wrong at Kutteh Ke Fertility Associates.
We had conflicting information given to us by the woman who works with the billing department. She was under the impression we had frozen more embryos than we actually had. I believe we were charged for the freezing of more embryos than we actually did freeze. They did correct the error.
He [Dr. Brezina] utilized every effort to try to keep us pregnant, including heparin which was not clearly indicated. His diagnostic process and workup for recurrent pregnancy loss is thorough... is so knowledgeable and discussed every step of his plan of care. He is empathetic and welcomed questions and input on plan...on top of the latest technology in reproductive medicine. He was caring and thoroughly explained all of his reasoning when developing plan of care. He also welcomed all questions and input.
Nurses [at Kutteh Ke Fertility Associates] are friendly but super busy. They always returned calls in timely manner... They don't mess around with payments and know exactly how much your costs are at each visit and collect them upon your arrival. You can always get someone on the phone. When it comes to lab and ultrasound, you are usually in and out quickly. Only issue is scheduling options for appointments since they are so busy.

Our insurance covered 80% of our workup for recurrent miscarriage. We have yet to discuss the specifics of IVF cost, but we are anticipating self pay costs at upward of $15k.
I believe he [Dr. Brezina] is intelligent and up to date on the latest science, but he has a tendency to talk at you - often over explaining something to the point where you don't even remember the question you asked in the first place. You also don't get the impression that he is very familiar with you chart when you meet with him. He required some very extensive, uncomfortable, and hard to schedule tests before treatment could begin...He also pushes IVF on you pretty much from the jump. I get the impression that he is over worked as he sees nearly half of the practice's patients...
Scheduling [at Kutteh Ke Fertility Associates] is a nightmare. They have no portal to ask questions. You have to call the office. You cannot leave messages after hours. I have waited two hours for an appointment and seen another patient leave in anger after waiting two hours with no doctor in sight. They pushed unnecessary tests on me that delayed my care for two and a half months. They refused to provide me pain or anxiety medication for very painful diagnostic procedures. The nurses operate the ultrasound machines and have very poor training on them - Ellen the Sonographer is the only bright spot. Some of the nurses are cold and have bad communication skills. I don't think Dr. Brezina is a bad person. I believe he is intelligent and up to date on the latest science, but he has a tendency to talk at you - often over explaining something to the point where you don't even remember the question you asked in the first place. You also don't get the impression that he is very familiar with you chart when you meet with him. He required some very extensive, uncomfortable, and hard to schedule tests before treatment could begin. My symptoms and diagnosis are pretty straight forward, and I don't believe these tests were necessary (they weren't), and they wasted a lot of time. He also pushes IVF on you pretty much from the jump. I get the impression that he is over worked as he sees nearly half of the practice's patients. Unfortunately, it shows in the care you receive.
What's one piece of advice would you give a prospective patient of Paul Brezina at Kutteh Ke Fertility Associates?
Don't be afraid to advocate for yourself. Record your appointments because he talks too fast. Make sure you don't have anything else on your schedule the day of your appointments because you'll likely wait hours.

Letrozole and trigger shots. I have ovulated, but have not become pregnant.
Describe your experience with your nurse at Kutteh Ke Fertility Associates. (Assigned nurse: Bree)
Nurse Bree is probably the worst health care worker that I have ever interacted with. She is not warm. She is rude. She shows no compassion. She is demeaning. She is a terrible communicator. She delays your treatment. I would not wish her on my worst enemy.

Canceled a cycle due to clinic error
Describe the specific things that went wrong at Kutteh Ke Fertility Associates.
The clinic required both a saline and dye test - completely unnecessary considering I have text book PCOS and have never had any symptoms or history of blocked tubes or uterine issues. One of the procedures they do in house the other you have to do at a different facility. I called to schedule my procedures. The nurse only told me about one outside facility and said they were booked, and I would have to wait until my next cycle. When I called again the next month, she did the same thing. This went on for months. She never told me that I had more than one option in town. I finally pressed her on this the third time calling and she relented and gave me another option, which had numerous appointments available. It wasted so much unnecessary time.
I had two different nurses give me conflicting information about my protocols and never received an apology or explanation.
I had to ask half a dozen times before they sent me my husband's semen analysis.
I felt as if I was a human when speaking with Dr. Bailey. She knew the plan, what we should move on to, and was always willing to talk with me and told her I could call any time. ... Dr. Bailey is very smart person and knows her information and research. I feel like everything she does is because its proven. She is very optimistic. I know she is a very busy lady but she has always allowed me to ask as many questions as I want and will stay with me no matter how long I continue to talk to her.
The nurse turn over seems to be an issue from what I hear and see [at Kutteh Ke Fertility]. ... I had to deal with a nurse who was flat out rude to me on the phone and told me NO! We would not be moving on to IUI and I couldnt come in to talk to Dr. Bailey for a month- called the front office and got an appointment the next day- Dr. Bailey said we would be moving on to IUI.

Come prepared with questions. She always asks if you have any and the 1st time I came I was so overwhelmed and couldn't think of anything until I left, which I still do sometimes.

I felt as if I was a human when speaking with Dr. Bailey. She knew the plan, what we should move on to, and was always willing to talk with me and told her I could call any time. As far as the nurses- can't say the same.
Describe the protocols Amelia Bailey used in your cycles at Kutteh Ke Fertility Associates and their degree of success.
I first had a surgery where she removed a septum, she made sure to do the initial saline ultra sound and then a post op one to make sure everything looked like it should. Now we have moved on to IUI and she is starting with a clomid/Ovidrel protcol, the 1st didn't work. I go see her tomorrow to move to the next step.
Describe your experience with the nursing staff at Kutteh Ke Fertility Associates.
The nurse turn over seems to be an issue from what I hear and see. Dr Bailey just recently got a new nurse. She is very sweet but also very green and doesnt know much at all. I had to deal with a nurse who was flat out rude to me on the phone and told me NO! We would not be moving on to IUI and I couldnt come in to talk to Dr. Bailey for a month- called the front office and got an appointment the next day- Dr. Bailey said we would be moving on to IUI. So morale of the story some of the nurses don't know what they are talking about and shouldn't make up stuff. If you want to work in this type of setting you need to know how to deal with women who are hurting and want to know ALL THEIR INFORMATION.
Describe your experience with Kutteh Ke Fertility Associates.
I think FAM is an amazing place to go and they produce wonderful results. They need to just look past the hateful nurses and know that the Dr.'s are wonderful and so smart and know what they are doing and want the best outcome for the patients.
Describe the costs associated with your care under Amelia Bailey at Kutteh Ke Fertility Associates.
My surgery was covered by insurance so I have no clue. The IUI cost was about $250 for ultrasounds, $260 for semen wash, and about $280 for the IUI. I do know they want you money when you walk in the door.
Describe Amelia Bailey's approach to eSET (elective single embryo transfer) vs. multiple embryo transfer at Kutteh Ke Fertility Associates.
When I came in for my initial consult, he [Dr. Brezina] reviewed my file that was sent over from another local DR and looked at me and asked why I was prescribed Clomid because I have a regular/normal cycle and asked if I knew my TSH levels were low. Which I had no idea!...He personally called me after every IUI on my cell to wish me luck and that really made me feel important and like they really cared about me and my desire to have a child because at the end of the day I do believe they truly want everyone to succeed in a healthy pregnancy.
We paid around $150/visit when we had to meet with Brezina [at Kutteh Ke Fertility Associates]. Most blood work visits were $20-30 each (depending on how they code them). Each IUI was around $800 including procedure, ultrasound, and drugs. The FET donor process is running us around $8k.

What's one piece of advice would you give a prospective patient of Paul Brezina at Kutteh Ke Fertility Associates?
He is one of the only doctors in the office that doesn’t immediately direct you to go straight to IVF, which I appreciated because we certainly can’t afford it.
He laid out all my options in detail in front of me, informed us on each, then left us to make an informed decision on what we should do next.
He may not have done all my treatments himself, but he made me feel very comfortable every step of the way.
During treatment, were you treated like a number or a human with Paul Brezina at Kutteh Ke Fertility Associates?
Brezina took the time to make sure we understood all our options and explained every step in detail for us. We never left feeling uninformed or misguided.
Describe the protocols Paul Brezina used in your cycles at Kutteh Ke Fertility Associates and their degree of success.
When I came in for my initial consult, he reviewed my file that was sent over from another local DR and looked at me and asked why I was prescribed Clomid because I have a regular/normal cycle and asked if I knew my TSH levels were low. Which I had no idea! So, he put me on Synthroid. Did a dye test and saline test both came back clear and normal so he gave us the “unexplained” label.
We then decided to try IUIs. 3 to be exact, both failed. During those I took Letrovole for 5 days.
Then we decided to try Donor embryos. We were going in for my trial transfer and ultra sound appointment when they found polyps. Brezina preformed a Hysterscopy and Laparoscopy the following week to remove my polyps and found I had scar tissue and early signs of endometriosis, which he also cleaned up.
We then decided to try one more IUI after getting cleaned out and that recently failed. So now we are back to the FET.
Describe your experience with your nurse at Kutteh Ke Fertility Associates. (Assigned nurse: Katie)
Some staff there are way better than others. But that’s everywhere.
Katie had her good days and her bad. The ultrasound tech was bad at communicating and assumed people knew what they were looking at on the screen which annoyed me because I want to know. The lab staff are great, well 2 of the 3 I saw are. Eddie is the most friendly person in the place, he made me feel so comfortable all needles considered and I looked forward to seeing him every visit. Or the lady that works on Friday’s, I can’t remember her name though :(
Describe your experience with Kutteh Ke Fertility Associates.
I wish they would recommend things to do or not do At home that could help your odds and not just the same routine treatments like IVF and IUI. Makes people like me when their go to treatments fail it’s like they are just done with you.

Describe the specific things that went wrong at Kutteh Ke Fertility Associates.
Of all the years I’ve gone there they have been good about how they code the blood work so your insurance cover atleast some cost for you. Well this last visit Brezina wanted to run a panel pre-FET to make sure I didn’t have any STDs, hep B, etc. Well the lab decided to code it as straight up “infertility” which was absurd to me because it had nothing to do with my fertility but more so preventative. Anyway, I walked away paying almost $1k for just one blood panel. I was very upset.
Dr.Brezina explained everything to you and made sure that you understood it before leaving his office. He also made you feel like he could relate to your situation by saying things like if my wife and I were in this situation we would do the same thing.... He started our treatments with blood work, ultrasounds, and a semen analysis. I was not having regular cycles at this time. Then when everything was okay with those tests other than a diagnosis of PCOS, we moved on to an SHG and HSG to make sure that my tubes were open.
The staff [Kutteh Ke Fertility Associates] at the front desk are all extremely nice. When you call to setup an appointment or ask questions, they are very helpful. They make sure to tell you up front how much things will cost and what/if your insurance will cover. The office space is very neat, clean, and organized.... Most of the nursing staff are nice, compassionate, and friendly. There are 1-2 that aren’t as friendly or pretty quiet but that is going to be anywhere you go.

My HSG showed a blocked tube so then we scheduled a laproscopy which showed I had endometriosis blocking my tube that he burned off during surgery and we took a 6 month period of trying timed intercourse because he thought that I should be able to get pregnant on my own after my tube was unblocked. After 6 months and I still wasn’t pregnant, we discussed trying an ovulation induction IUI cycle. We tried the highest dosage of Letrozole/Femara 7.5 mg and after 5-6 ultrasounds, it was determined that my follicles wouldn’t get big enough to do a trigger shot and make me ovulate so the cycle was cancelled. We had a follow-up appointment where we discussed the next steps would likely be IVF but since I had lost twenty pounds and my cycles had started coming back on their own to try for 6 months before considering IVF. We have a couple months before we go back, but so far no positive pregnancy tests yet.
Describe your experience with the nursing staff at Kutteh Ke Fertility Associates.
Most of the nursing staff are nice, compassionate, and friendly. There are 1-2 that aren’t as friendly or pretty quiet but that is going to be anywhere you go.
Describe your experience with Kutteh Ke Fertility Associates.
The staff at the front desk are all extremely nice. When you call to setup an appointment or ask questions, they are very helpful. They make sure to tell you up front how much things will cost and what/if your insurance will cover. The office space is very neat, clean, and organized.

How was your experience with Paul Brezina at Kutteh Ke Fertility Associates?
Dr. Brezina is very thorough with his patients. He never made me feel rushed or made me feel ridiculous asking questions (and I had a lot of them). He drew pictures and showed me concrete numbers to help my husband and I make difficult decisions. Also, he provided me with every possible option and explained each one so I would understand the risks and benefits of each. Dr. Brezina would laugh and smile with me during our joyous times, and provide empathy during the difficult times in our journey. While the amount of information about the IVF process can be overwhelming, I have never left his office feeling confused about the information he provided. He gave me an adequate amount of time to pray and consider my options before making important decisions. The infertility journey is a difficult and sometimes lonely journey, but having a doctor who you can trust and who cares about you makes the journey bearable. While my journey has not yet ended, I would not consider using anyone else besides Dr. Brezina. I look forward to celebrating with him and his amazing staff in the future with my miracle baby in my arms.

Describe the protocols Paul Brezina used in your cycles at Kutteh Ke Fertility Associates and their degree of success.
We started with 2 weeks of Birth control. After the birth control, a blood test, and ultrasound, we began 2 estrace orally. We then increased to 2 estrace orally and 2 vaginally. After another blood test and ultrasound, we began 3/4ml of progesterone shots a day. We also took a steroid and antibiotic prior to the transfer. We added claritin and pepcid a few days before the transfer.

Describe Paul Brezina's approach to eSET (elective single embryo transfer) vs. multiple embryo transfer at Kutteh Ke Fertility Associates.
Since I had many surgeries on my uterus, Dr. Brezina suggest that I only have a single embryo transfer.
She put me on a protocol to prevent overstimulation or retrieval. Dr. Bailey highly recommended a frozen transfer with a single embryo...Dr. Bailey did listen to my concerns about wanting to transfer two. I appreciated all the visits we had with Dr. Bailey... is not available very often, so I wish I would have made notes of everything we talked about and had a list of questions to asks. I would often times leave and think of something and really had no way of asking Dr. Bailey. The nurses seemed irritated when you would ask them questions.
Everyone gets there [Kutteh Ke Fertility Associates] during a window of time for ultrasounds/blood work. It's pretty smoothly ran, first come first serve. There's often times a line waiting to enter the building and 20+ patients there at one time. They get you in pretty quickly, but based on how many people are infront of you it may take 20 minutes or 90+...it was a nightmare with their billing department. The billing department told me I could expect 75% back of $6,200. I received $200 from insurance.
How was your experience with Amelia Bailey at Kutteh Ke Fertility Associates?
Dr. Bailey is extremely intelligent. She always went over the risks and her recommendations based on research. She followed my insurances requirements for coverage, 6 iuis. She started me at a middle dosage of clomid due my history and changed medications when it wasn't working as well as anticipated. She put me on a protocol to prevent overstimulation or retrieval. Dr. Bailey highly recommended a frozen transfer with a single embryo. I wish she would have told me that the trigger shot used, lupron, made it to where we could not do a fresh transfer if issues had arose and a fresh was needed. Dr. Bailey did listen to my concerns about wanting to transfer two. I appreciated all the visits we had with Dr. Bailey.

During treatment, were you treated like a number or a human with Amelia Bailey at Kutteh Ke Fertility Associates?
You don't see Dr. Bailey very often so it's hard to create a real connection with her. You see her at your consultation, after 3 failed iuis, we did a phone consult or IVF since we had just had the meeting about failed iuis, ERA, and mock transfer were the only times I saw her in the 50+ trips.
Describe the protocols Amelia Bailey used in your cycles at Kutteh Ke Fertility Associates and their degree of success.
100 mg clomid- triple layer lining but only 6.? mm did not ovulate per progesterone draw, 2 follicles
150 mg clomid- triple layer lining but only 6.? 4 follicles, ovulated per progesterone draw, cycle cancelled d/t risks of multiples
5 mg letrozole 3x- triple layer lining between 6.5-7.9 for three cycles. between 3-5 follicles each round, one cycle cancelled d/t risks of multiples, ovulated all 3 rounds per prog. draw
Trial transfer completed inbetween IUI/Retrieval
Retrieval: Birth control 9 days prior, fonal f 150 and menopur 75 used added ganirelex after 6 days to prevent ovulation, triggered with lupron 80 units after stimming for 8 days
I showed 23/34 follicles at each ultrasound. They retrieve 23 eggs, 19 mature, 16 fertilized, 10 embryos (5A, 2A-, 2B+, 1B-) 7 were 5 day, 3 were 6 day
Describe your experience with your nurse at Kutteh Ke Fertility Associates. (Assigned nurse: Patrice/Amanda)
The nursing staff changes quite a bit. Our nurse, Patrice, was awesome! She kept me level headed and would respectfully put me in my place when my hormones got the best of me (I needed that). She quit following our retrieval and we were without a "nurse" for several months. Ronda the head nurse did the majority of calls during this time. She was good, but you could tell she had too much on her plate. Our current nurse is new to the field, so that's a hard transition for both of us. I have had another doctor's nurse, Don, is AMAZING!!!! Not having one specific person to go to with concerns is very difficult though. It definitely raised my nerves when Patrice left, but I know things like that aren't controllable.
Describe your experience with Kutteh Ke Fertility Associates.
The biggest weakness at this clinic is BILLING! oh my word. It's a nightmare. They don't return phone calls, they don't get the prior authorizations that are needed. It's truly the downfall of the entire clinic. They need some major help in this department..... second weakness for me would be not really having a particular nurse to go to. Our first nurse who had been there awhile quit, and her replacement is still getting the groove of everything. It's nice to talk to someone who knows your history and story and knows you on a personal level. There has been several instances where I have to mention things that have been a concern in a previous cycle and they have to speak to the doctor again and return the call later. If someone was familiar with your case, it would run a lot smoother.

Describe Amelia Bailey's approach to eSET (elective single embryo transfer) vs. multiple embryo transfer at Kutteh Ke Fertility Associates.
Dr. Bailey was very upfront about suggesting eSET. She also suggested a freeze all cycle d/t risks of overstimulation and chances being higher with FET.

Describe the specific things that went wrong at Kutteh Ke Fertility Associates.
I had a prescription that was not called in for my retrieval. It was not a "necessary" medication so the nurse refused to have the doctor call it in since it was the weekend. Just frustrating with the amount of money you spend, just because it's not a requirement doesn't mean that it wouldn't be helpful for the patient. In all reality, this should have been done before we even got to that point. I have had nurses forget to call in FET meds (antibiotics, etc) until the day before I am suppose to take them. It's fixable, but an inconvenience for the patient.
The clinic is not very good at notifying patients of when to abstain before retrieval for the sperm sample. They also did not discuss exercise restrictions at all until I asked. Based on things I have read, it would beneficial for the clinic to send home an information sheet of dos/donts for retrieval/fet.
If you want / need a no-nonsense, direct doctor, William Kutteh is your man. Dr. Kutteh's research and theory backs up his successful practice. ... He spends the better part of our consultations citing numbers, calculating probabilities, and sketching graphs to illustrate the stakes and likely outcomes of our treatment. ... Ultimately, we've come to accept his lack of warmth, because we have faith in his expertise and the quality of his clinic and lab.
Because Memphis Fertility Associates is one of the only fertility clinics in the city, it is very busy, and wait times are long. Getting an appointment is difficult, and It can often be difficult to fit visits into our busy work days. The administrative staff are very friendly and welcoming. ... Dr. Kutteh's nurse, Michelle, is always very prompt about returning calls. She has also administered both our IUIs. Her demeanor is professional, although not particularly warm.
How was your experience with William Kutteh at Kutteh Ke Fertility Associates?
Dr. Kutteh is very knowledgeable, and he shares that knowledge (including detailed statistics) with his patients. He is candid and, during each of our three appointments with him, he has given us a good deal of his time (approximately one hour per visit). He is realistic about expectations, and frank about when and why to proceed with specific treatments. Our only complaint is that he does not have a particularly warm "bedside manner"--not strictly necessary, though it would be nice.

If you want / need a no-nonsense, direct doctor, William Kutteh is your man. Dr. Kutteh's research and theory backs up his successful practice. However, if you prefer a warmer approach, then one of the other doctors at Memphis Fertility Associates might be a better fit (Drs. Ke, Bailey, and Brezina).
During treatment, were you treated like a number or a human with William Kutteh at Kutteh Ke Fertility Associates?
Dr. Kutteh is clearly very knowledgeable, yet his focus is very much on statistics and cutting-edge research. He spends the better part of our consultations citing numbers, calculating probabilities, and sketching graphs to illustrate the stakes and likely outcomes of our treatment. (My wife jokes that during our sessions, he's looking at her and seeing numbers and symbols.) Of course, we understand that this is a necessary part of managing expectations. However, some acknowledgement of the emotional and psychological toll that this process can take would not be misplaced. Ultimately, we've come to accept his lack of warmth, because we have faith in his expertise and the quality of his clinic and lab.
Describe the protocols William Kutteh used in your cycles at Kutteh Ke Fertility Associates and their degree of success.
Full blood panel, after which Dr. Kutteh put my wife on daily Levothyroxin and vitamin D supplement. 1 cycle with 2.5mg of Letrozole on days 3-7, and trying naturally. 2 cycles with 2.5mg of Letrozole on days 3-7, and IUI administered by a nurse. We are now moving to IVF.

This may seem like a small thing, but this kindness goes a long way, especially as we have found this human touch to be lacking with our doctor and his nurse.
Describe the costs associated with your care under William Kutteh at Kutteh Ke Fertility Associates.
IUI cycles are about $550, plus medications and scans, if your insurance doesn't cover them (around $200). The cost of IVF is approximately $15,000 (including medications, procedures, and lab work). If you want extras, like genetic screening of embryos, it can add about $5,000 extra.

I came to Dr. Brezina for a second opinion on surgery. He had me do all bloodwork, shg, and a hsg. I indeed had PCOS. He had my husband give a sperm sample, and we found out his numbers were low (400,000). He referred us to an urologist. Dr. Brezina prescribed my husband with 25mg of Clomid 5x a week for 3 months. We came back for a follow up and the numbers improved to 1.9 million. Motility and morphology were also not great. With our urologist, we had the option do have a varicolecetomy to try and raise numbers up. We consulted with Dr. Brezina who made it clear it was our choice what we wanted to do. We talked all the details about IUI (if the surgery worked) or moving straight to IVF. He told us to come back in a week and we could talk more or make a decision. We came back and made the decision to start IVF. Dr. Brezina was very helpful in making a very tough decision! We will be starting in March 2019.

She’s [Dr. Amelia Bailey] great. I wish i saw her more often. She’s not apt to make big adjustments when transfers weren’t working out. I’m sure she has good reasons behind it but with all the money I’d rather be proactive and she did switch a cancelled cycle to an era which i am very happy with.... Menopur 75 and gonal 150... Lupron trigger.... for retrieval Tried oral vaginally estrace for transfer failed to get lining thick enough
Nursing is a nightmare [at Kutteh Ke Fertility Associates]. Don is my favorite! She’s not doctor baileys nurse though. Stay on top of everything, especially if you are lucky enough to have insurance cover things

There were times when i didn’t get the greatest news, that i wish my doctor [Dr. Amelia Bailey] or at least my own nurse would’ve contacted me about...She is very intelligent. At times, i felt like i was pushed along without seeing her or having feedback from her. I wish on cycles with bad news or set backs, that i would have had better explanations on how we would change the plan of treatment...We did several iuis- i did produce good amounts of follicles but they were unsuccessful. Moved on to ivf- used birth control, menopur, gonal f, and ganirelex

There’s often a line, but they do work fast and it’s first come first serve...Billing is a nightmare. If you have insurance beware!!!!!! They run very effiencently and timely. It’s difficult if you ever have procedures they are not planned but should occur on weekend. I couldn’t get a script for Valium before egg retrieval because they wouldn’t call doctor on the weekend (this was suppose to already be done prior)

Dr. Bailey met my expectations when returning to the clinic for insurances purposes, but it wasn't done without a lot of push back and headaches. My first consultation and subsequent meetings made it obvious that I was just another patient, as she rarely remember anything from one meeting to the next and never received my medical history before my appointments, which made our meetings pointless.
When going to this clinic [Kutteh Ke Fertility] be prepared to feel like a number and an ATM. Every appointment you have to pay upfront costs and if you have insurance, you will be overcharged at every appointment and have to wait until the end to get any of your money back....The nurses would give me scripts for drugs that I was allergic to and noted in my chart. The nurses would only call in medication at the last minute so I would sometimes have to miss a dose because I couldn't get it in time.

You may feel hopeless after meeting with any doctor at Fertility Associates of Memphis. Just remember, there is another clinic in town -- Regional One Reproductive Medicine. Always get a second opinion.

The office is large and doesn't hundreds of cycles a year which means you jump in line and hope the ride ends like you expect. Don't expect to have them alter or tailor protocols to meet your individual needs.
Describe the protocols Amelia Bailey used in your cycles at Kutteh Ke Fertility Associates and their degree of success.
My cycle was straightforward since it was a Frozen Embryo Transfer. I started BCP a month before the cycle and then took estrogen pills for two weeks before the transfer. Progesterone injections were added 5 days before transfer.
Describe your experience with the nursing staff at Kutteh Ke Fertility Associates.
Attention to detail was not a strength of the nursing staff, which is kind of a requirement for a fertility clinic. I had to call multiple times to make sure they received my medical. I asked repeated for my treatment calendar, which I finally got from Dr. Bailey. The nurses would give me scripts for drugs that I was allergic to and noted in my chart. The nurses would only call in medication at the last minute so I would sometimes have to miss a dose because I couldn't get it in time. The nurse failed to give me test results on-time so I had to call my OB to get testing done on-time.
Describe your experience with Kutteh Ke Fertility Associates.
When going to this clinic be prepared to feel like a number and an ATM. Every appointment you have to pay upfront costs and if you have insurance, you will be overcharged at every appointment and have to wait until the end to get any of your money back.
Describe the costs associated with your care under Amelia Bailey at Kutteh Ke Fertility Associates.
Our insurance covered our treatment so our out-of-pocket was minimal.
Describe Amelia Bailey's approach to eSET (elective single embryo transfer) vs. multiple embryo transfer at Kutteh Ke Fertility Associates.
I'm sure Dr. Bailey would have preferred to do a eSET with me having twins my last IVF cycle (and she seems to what to keep that statistic a low as possible), however, our embryos were frozen in pairs and I didn't want to choose which one to implant and which one to refreeze, so we transferred both.

Describe the specific things that went wrong at Kutteh Ke Fertility Associates.
Drug allergies are not something this clinic does well with.
Dr. Ke is direct and to-the-point. He explains things well, using facts and figures. He doesn't sugarcoat things or overexaggerate the chance of something working. If a treatment has an 18% chance of working, he will tell you. But, he is also very compassionate. He is willing to answer any and all questions honestly. He also talks to - and more importantly - listens to his patients like we are humans, which is amazing. I guess the one downside is that most of the interactions are with the nurses and staff
The nursing staff [Kutteh Ke Fertility] is very kind, compassionate, and personable. They tend to sugar coat things. For instance, my husband's motility numbers were within range but not very high, the nurse told me they were "great" but Dr. Ke told me they were "okay" in my follow-up. I feel like I was given kind of false sense of high hopes for my treatment from the nursing staff, but if the treatment had worked, I probably would have been happy they had been so encouraging.

Be honest with him and he will be honest back. Also, ask all your questions. He will provide as much information as you ask for.
During treatment, were you treated like a number or a human with Raymond Ke at Kutteh Ke Fertility Associates?
During my first few visits with Dr. Ke, he was very straightforward and gave me the facts about the IUI procedure and probability of its success. After my second failed IUI, he once again went into the facts and probability of continued treatment, but he really took the time to listen to my frustrations and give me advice about how to handle living with infertility. I was the last patient of the day and he spent over 45 minutes with me, letting me talk about my frustrations, answering all my questions, and giving medical advice. He also gave personal advice like not feeling guilty about skipping baby showers and offered to recommend a therapist. He really listened to me and saw me as a person with a problem, not an unexplained diagnosis. Though he may have seemed blunt at first, it was clear how much he cares about his patients.
Describe the protocols Raymond Ke used in your cycles at Kutteh Ke Fertility Associates and their degree of success.
For my first IUI, we used femara to increase my number of eggs and ovidrel to induce ovulation. We attempted a second IUI with an increase in my femara dose, but I ovulated too early. The next month, we kept the femara increase, moved the ultrasound up in the cycle, and used ovidrel. I was given estrogen after ovulation. Both IUIs resulted in negative pregnancy tests.

They are very fast, efficient, and the costs are given to you up front. The one complaint is that I see the nursing staff more than the actual doctor. Perhaps that is different for people going through more complicated procedures, like IVF.
Describe the costs associated with your care under Raymond Ke at Kutteh Ke Fertility Associates.
The IUI itself was about $600. The ovidrel shot was about $100. A follow-up ultrasound not covered by insurance was $100.

After I missed ovulation for what would have been my second IUI, I had to call to remind them that we were doing my ultrasound earlier. They had misplaced the paperwork saying that I had ovulated too early the previous month, but they were apologetic and listened to me when I insisted we move the ultrasound up.
I loved how much she [Dr Amelia Bailey] cared. She didn’t let me give up when I felt like I couldn’t take anymore. She was very encouraging. After multiple transfers were cancelled because of lining issues I wish she had listened to me about changing up medications because that is what ultimately ended up happening. It would have saved months and months of heartbreak and frustration.
The person that is supposed to help with finances [at Kutteh Ke Fertility Associates] could never answer my questions and left me frustrated. I also have been waiting for almost a year for a consent form to be made for me so we can decide what to do with my extra eggs. I honestly don’t know what she actually does there. Ultrasonography has an outstanding group of ladies as well as front office staff and phlebotomy

After cancelled transfers she had me wear 8 estrogen patches at a time and change them out every 3 days to try to get my lining to thicken. After that didn’t work she did 2 ERA biopsies and found what would work for me and we ended up being able to do a transfer.

He [Dr. Brezina] is an amazing doctor. He has a good bedside manner and is very knowledgeable. He was very honest about options and potential outcomes. He was patient and answered all of my questions. He is very thorough. At one point he was concerned I could have ovarian cancer, he immediately repeated an ultrasound in office and referred me to a gynecologic oncologist for work up. He called the physician’s office himself while I was still in office to set up my appointment.
You are in excellent hands from the clinical staff to the doctor. They [Kutteh Ke Fertility] genuinely care about you and will do everything they can to help you.... The only weakness I can think of is not notifying me of my copay prior to my apppintment for my first consultation. However I was scheduled last minute due to a cancellation so this could be why I was not notified. This is an excellent clinic. From check in to check out they have it all together! I couldn’t have asked for better care.

[Dr. Amelia Bailey] is a fabulous doctor who makes you feel like you are her only patient. She is the doctor that had to deliver the news that I would likely no longer be able to carry. She did this with such compassion and understanding... After the surgery and throughout our surrogacy journey, it has not been uncommon for her to call or text with me encouragements... has the perfect balance of compassion while still explaining all of the risks. She makes sure that you fully understand the next steps and is very patient when explaining procedures etc. As her patient, I never doubt whether I am receiving the best care and attention. I fully trust her judgement.
I have been satisfied with [Kutteh Ke] Fertility Associates. My only suggestion (which I don't think they could do because of space) would be to have a larger waiting area after the ultrasound. When we had hard ultrasounds, it was not fun to be sitting right next to the couple that was oohing and ahhing over their baby's pictures on the sonogram pictures. Some space to spread out would be nice.

I was also in the ICU step down unit prior to the operation that she preformed to remove my cornual ectopic pregnancy. She checked on me many time. After the surgery and throughout our surrogacy journey, it has not been uncommon for her to call or text with me encouragements. Her nurse, Patrice, is also fabulous and does an excellent job of answering voicemails quickly.
Describe the protocols Amelia Bailey used in your cycles at Kutteh Ke Fertility Associates and their degree of success.
I came to Dr. Bailey after experiencing 3 ectopic pregnancies. The first resulting in the loss of my right tube, the second being a ruptured ectopic pregnancy, and the third being a diagnosed cornual ectopic pregnancy. My regular OBGYN diagnosed it and referred me right over to Dr. Bailey (I had done IVF out of town at a different clinic). Dr. Bailey was honest about what to expect and tried to treat with methotrexate. I was closely monitored and then when it was determined that the methotrexate was unsuccessful, I was admitted to the hospital for open surgery to remove the pregnancy and the upper right corner of my uterus. Post surgery, Dr. Bailey recommended to move forward with surrogacy. We are preparing for our first transfer at the end of October.

I felt like a human because Dr Brezina seemed genuinely concerned about our care. Sometimes I felt like a number with his staff and with him not giving us his true opinion of what we should do. He let us make the decision but I felt like maybe it wasn’t always the right decision...Some of the medicines I took were birth control, ganirelex, menopur, clomid, crinone, prednisone, and pregnyl, along with fertility vitamins and estradiol.
I understand that the nurses [at Kutteh Ke Fertility Associates] see dozens of patients every day but some could be a little more compassionate. Some days I felt like I was on an assembly like. Also, I don’t understand why they didn’t do a guided IUI to make sure the sperm was being injected at a good spot in my uterus...The cost is the frozen transfer was not clear and a lot more than I expected. After 4 IUIs, 2 IVF retrievals and 3 transfers, you’d think that some discounted rates would be offered.
How was your experience with Paul Brezina at Kutteh Ke Fertility Associates?
We felt like he was a very compassionate doctor. Like he truly wanted to help. He could see that we really wanted to conceive. And think this may have been the down side. Him knowing how we really wanted this, I think maybe we shouldn’t have done some of the cycles but he did them anyway.
What's one piece of advice would you give a prospective patient of Paul Brezina at Kutteh Ke Fertility Associates?

I think that the dr staff is very qualified and knowledgeable. I think my biggest concern was the cost. There were no discounts for multiple treatments. Also the billing staff took very long to get back to us. I don’t like how they don’t refund credits on the accounts automatically when you aren’t in a cycle. I also think they overbook. Patients’ time is valuable also.
Describe your experience with your monitoring appointments at Kutteh Ke Fertility Associates.
It was a cattle-call, but it was early in the morning and more convenient for me. Even being open on weekends was helpful.
Describe the costs associated with your care under Paul Brezina at Kutteh Ke Fertility Associates.
There was no specific breakdown of what each procedure costs. That’s one thing I didn’t like. It was like a packaged deal. The cost is the frozen transfer was not clear and a lot more than I expected. After 4 IUIs, 2 IVF retrievals and 3 transfers, you’d think that some discounted rates would be offered. I know for a fact that some patients are given discounted package prices because a couple I know was given a 50% discount after the first cycle failed. We were never given such a huge discount. The cost is so expensive it seems that there is more the doctors could do financially to help patients
Describe Paul Brezina's approach to eSET (elective single embryo transfer) vs. multiple embryo transfer at Kutteh Ke Fertility Associates.
Each transfer except the last was multiple embryo transfers. On the second transfer I think we should have transferred all three embryos instead of two and then coming back and transferring a single embryo. This is because the first cycle was unsuccessful and the doctor was already concerned about the egg quality. So why not just transfer all three on the second transfer instead of doing a third transfer that costs us more money.

Describe the specific things that went wrong at Kutteh Ke Fertility Associates.
The only thing I was concerned about was the billing staff, payment options, costs, and no trials or educational testing that could possibly help.
We then did an IVF (ICSI) [with Dr. Paul Brezina], and we opted to do a frozen cycle, because this would allow for higher doses of hormones in an effort to get more embryos to freeze (this decision was based off the fact that we had fewer eggs than expected retrieved during the first IVF cycle). They had expected to retrieve 15-20 eggs, but we ended up only with 9. We had 5 that fertilized, and only 2 that matured to 5-day embryos and were frozen. Dr. Brezina strongly advises using 5-day embryos, and we agree with his rationale for a variety of reasons.
We have had mixed experiences with Dr. Brezina's nursing staff [at Kutteh Ke Fertility Associates]. Some have been organized, kind, and competent, and others have been quite the opposite. We caught a number of errors in several of the nurses' instructions to us (e.g., doses, protocols for administration of medications, when to schedule visits, etc), which resulted in fracturing of our trust in the overall nursing staff. However, I will say that, when we shared these experiences with Dr. Brezina, he was incredibly receptive to constructive feedback and he took it very seriously. Our comments were discussed with all of the physicians and nurses in the clinic, with policies implemented in an effort to improve the system. So I give Dr. Brezina a lot of credit for his proactive efforts to identify issues and improve the overall care provided by the practice.
How was your experience with Paul Brezina at Kutteh Ke Fertility Associates?
In my prior response, I have already shared details with regards to our high estimation of Dr. Brezina as an outstanding communicator. We have faced a number of sad situations, including the loss of one of our babies, and Dr. Brezina has always responded with deep and genuine empathy and presence. I think it is also important to share how much we respect and admire Dr. Brezina's fund of knowledge and his clinical acumen. Since I and my husband are both physicians, we have high expectations for the physicians in whom we entrust our medical care. Dr. Brezina trained at Johns Hopkins, and his knowledge and clinical judgment are outstanding. He never appears to be following an algorithm by rote; rather, he takes the time to familiarize himself with the details of each case, thinks outside of the box, and is willing to share his honest reflections and recommendations with you. He has mastered the art of active listening, and he remains self-confident while also humble and open about what he knows and what he does not know. I could not admire Dr. Brezina more; he is the best physician with whom I have ever entrusted my own medical care, and one of the best physicians whom I have ever known.
What's one piece of advice would you give a prospective patient of Paul Brezina at Kutteh Ke Fertility Associates?
Trust him.
During treatment, were you treated like a number or a human with Paul Brezina at Kutteh Ke Fertility Associates?
Dr. Brezina is an extraordinary physician, and an even better person. He has treated my husband and myself as if we were his family. He makes us feel like he cares genuinely about us, and he spends as much time as we need to help us understand and process difficult information and make difficult decisions. He personally calls us to explain complicated test results, and he has corresponded with us over email to ensure optimal transfer of information. We had a very complicated situation with our last cycle, in which we transferred our last remaining embryo, and it actually split on its own and we had identical twins implant. We were ecstatic, but then I had an intrauterine hemorrhage and one of the twins died, and we were devastated. Dr. Brezina suffered along with us, and his compassion and bedside manner were outstanding. In the spirit of full disclosure, my husband and I are both physicians, and I do research in the field of physician-patient communication - so for us, communication is a very important aspect of medical care. Dr. Brezina has exceeded our expectations in this area, and for this we are very grateful to him.
Describe the protocols Paul Brezina used in your cycles at Kutteh Ke Fertility Associates and their degree of success.
I am embarrassed that I know few details; I made an intentional choice to remove myself from these details, because I worried that I would try to micromanage my own medical care in the context of my medical degree, while having zero actual expertise in RI. But this is what I remember. We had a failed IVF with a prior doctor, which was a truly horrific experience. When we switched to Dr. Brezina, we decided to start with an IUI. However, when my husband gave the sperm sample right before the procedure, we learned that his sperm had no motility, which was attributed to cross-linking of the tails secondary to an anti-sperm antibody (based on gross microscopy assessment). We went ahead and did the IUI procedure anyway, since we had already paid for it and I had already done the whole hormonal prep - but it was a failure, unsurprisingly. We then did an IVF (ICSI), and we opted to do a frozen cycle, because this would allow for higher doses of hormones in an effort to get more embryos to freeze (this decision was based off the fact that we had fewer eggs than expected retrieved during the first IVF cycle). The first frozen transfer resulted in a chemical miscarriage. The second frozen transfer ended up splitting into 2 embryos (seriously, what are the odds?! Actually, I know that the odds are <<1%...it was an extremely rare event). I had an intrauterine hemorrhage at around 6 weeks, and we lost 1 of the twins, which was heartbreaking. But we were so blessed with the birth of our daughter in 2016, after years of trying to conceive. We are now hoping to do another IVF cycle next month. Unfortunately, my repeat labs show decreasing ovarian reserve, so there is urgency to proceed with this cycle, as well as poorer odds of success projected...but we are still trying to be hopeful. We are planning to do another frozen cycle, followed by transfer.

Describe your experience with Kutteh Ke Fertility Associates.
I think the clinic itself is lovely, in terms of its aesthetics. It runs relatively smoothly, and we rarely wait for long periods of time. The layout is convenient, so that you can easily go from clinic room to US room to labs, which are all close together in the same space. The front desk staff are hit or miss - some are terrific, and some come across as disorganized and disengaged.
Describe the costs associated with your care under Paul Brezina at Kutteh Ke Fertility Associates.
This is a painful topic...I have tried to block it out. When we did our first IVF cycle, although it was a horrible experience, it was largely paid for by insurance because we lived in a state in which IVF was mandated for coverage. In our current state, however, IVF is not covered at all by insurance. So we have done IUI, a frozen IVF cycle (retrieval), ICSI x5 embryos, storing 2 embryos, and 2 frozen transfers, all out of pocket. I honestly don't know exactly how much that all cost...probably $25,000. Possibly more. And are about to do it all again, which is a huge financial burden that we cannot afford, since we have a total of ~$500,000 in student loans between my and my husband's medical training. Thankfully, my parents are so kind and are helping us, otherwise it wouldn't be possible.
Describe Paul Brezina's approach to eSET (elective single embryo transfer) vs. multiple embryo transfer at Kutteh Ke Fertility Associates.
Dr. Brezina is supportive of single or double embryo transfer, but he recommends eSET. I am a pediatrician, and I have years of experience caring for preterm infants in the NICU, which has significantly informed my preference for eSET. As much as I would so so love to have twins, I do not think I could live with a decision that increases the risk of premature delivery and its associated morbidity and mortality risks.

Describe the specific things that went wrong at Kutteh Ke Fertility Associates.
Anything that has gone wrong in this clinic has been directly related to a nursing issue. For example, we have had nurses tell us the wrong dose of medication to administer. We have had nurses fail to show us how to properly administer an injection, leading to incorrect injection placement (and, in one case, IM as opposed to SQ, which was highly problematic and almost led to cancellation of a cycle). We have had nurses refuse to contact the on-call MD to ask a question, instead attempting to answer it themselves (and getting it wrong). All that said, those events happened a few years ago, and we discussed them in detail with Dr. Brezina and he took our feedback very seriously. We were told that the clinic had a meeting to discuss all of the issues that we identified, and that steps were taken to improve nursing training and the overall system. Since then, we have had better experiences, although we still do not think that the nurses are consistently excellent - some are terrific, and others less so. However, we also acknowledge that our standards are probably higher than average - we expect consistency in error-free care, and we are quick to identify mistakes because of our medical backgrounds. I think it says a lot about a practice when people are willing to receive constructive feedback and try to improve the system.
Our first cycle [with Dr. Paul Brezina] we planned to do IUI but the transfer date fell on thanksgiving and the office was closed so we timed intercourse and fell pregnant—i had unusual bleeding and he followed me very closely until it was discovered to be an ectopic pregnancy. He gave us the option of taking methotrexate or having the tube removed—explaining the pros and cons of each. We elected to remove the tube. We tried IUI again a few months later which was unsuccessful and we make the desicion to move onto IVF; assuming that our best tube was the one that had been removed.
The staff [at Kutteh Ke Fertility Associates] is very knowledgeable even the sonographers can answer any of my questions which is helpful because I see them more than I see the nurses due to frequent ultrasounds... There is typically a short wait time, the waiting room is clean and the front staff courteous and helpful. It is very organized—the lab, nurses, sonographers, front desk, and MDS all seem to communicate and work together well getting pts seen

We tried IUI again a few months later which was unsuccessful and we make the desicion to move onto IVF; assuming that our best tube was the one that had been removed. We worked through the routine protocol for IVF which yielded 12 follicles/6 eggs/3 five day blasts. We froze those to let my body recover prior to transferring them. He also told us he typically sees a slightly higher success rate with FET vs fresh. We elected to transfer one embryo (to avoid the risks associated with multiples). That cycle failed and our next cycle he added Lupron and changes from oral estrogen to vaginally estrogen, telling us that it is typically absorbed better vaginally also Lupron was to keep me even more suppressed than I had been to eliminate that variable. Everything looked “perfect” the week before transfer but I contracted C-diff and we decided to cancel the cycle rather than risk my embryos. We are currently waiting to start another cycle but our plan is to repeat the protocol from our previous canceled cycle
Describe your experience with the nursing staff at Kutteh Ke Fertility Associates.
The staff is very knowledgeable even the sonographers can answer any of my questions which is helpful because I see them more than I see the nurses due to frequent ultrasounds
Describe your experience with Kutteh Ke Fertility Associates.
There is typically a short wait time, the waiting room is clean and the front staff courteous and helpful. It is very organized—the lab, nurses, sonographers, front desk, and MDS all seem to communicate and work together well getting pts seen
Describe your experience with your monitoring appointments at Kutteh Ke Fertility Associates.
It is very efficient. They have some women getting lab work while others are getting ultrasounds to keep people moving and get us out quickly
Describe the costs associated with your care under Paul Brezina at Kutteh Ke Fertility Associates.
Egg retrieval was about $15000 including ultrasounds and lab work. Meds were about $5000
Describe Paul Brezina's approach to eSET (elective single embryo transfer) vs. multiple embryo transfer at Kutteh Ke Fertility Associates.
He advised us to only transfer 1 embryo our first cycle as there are several risk factors for mom and babies with muptiples. Our last two embryos were of average quality and we were advised to transfer them both together to increase our odds
One of the things I appreciate most about Dr. Bailey is that she understands I am a self pay patient. Therefore there are no nonsense meetings. We only meet when it’s to discuss more aggressive treatment options.... She also shared personal experiences and made herself very relatable. After my first IUI she called to congratulate me and wish me good luck since we had a hard time getting my periods and then eggs to cooperate.
A strength is definitely the wait time. It’s basically nonexistent. They [Kutteh Ke Fertility] are very efficient. I have had to wait a time or two when meeting with the doctor in person but for any other reason it’s very quick. As a new patient it’s important to know blood work can be done anywhere! I live over an hour away from my clinic so I hated going just for blood work. I wish I had known upfront it was an option to do it at my regular doctors office.

The first time I met Dr. Bailey I was coming from a clinic where the Doctor didn’t know what to do next. Dr. Bailey had a game plan with multiple options and prices. She advised and let me choose which direction to go. She also shared personal experiences and made herself very relatable.
After my first IUI she called to congratulate me and wish me good luck since we had a hard time getting my periods and then eggs to cooperate. It was a process and she was genuinely happy for me. It’s a phone call she didn’t have to make with her busy schedule.
I have never felt misguided by her and I always leave complete informed.
What's one piece of advice would you give a prospective patient of Amelia Bailey at Kutteh Ke Fertility Associates?
Go in ready to take notes and ask questions. She will give you a lot of information and likes open discussion.
During treatment, were you treated like a number or a human with Amelia Bailey at Kutteh Ke Fertility Associates?
Dr. Bailey made me feel like her best friend from the moment I met her. After each treatment she called to leave me a message of congratulations and good luck. It’s the little things that she does. She also made herself very relatable by sharing her experiences.
Describe your experience with your nurse at Kutteh Ke Fertility Associates. (Assigned nurse: Patrice)
My nurse was Patrice. She is one of the nicest people I have met. She answers all my questions and returns every phone call. She even walked me through how to set up my first injections over the phone. The women who preform ultrasounds are also very caring. I see them more than most people due to the number of ultrasounds I require. They are discreet when performing the ultrasounds and gentle. Very appreciated!
I have yet to come into contact with an unfriendly nurse.

Describe the costs associated with your care under Amelia Bailey at Kutteh Ke Fertility Associates.
Each ultrasound was around $130. My IUI cost just under $600 (not including medicine). My husbands sperm wash was around $500.
I always appreciated his [Dr. William Kutteh] expertise in the field of recurrent pregnancy loss and infertility, so I felt like I was in good hands simply because of his vast knowledge... I appreciated his candidness at each stage of our fertility treatments. He was also willing to give us options and let us decide what treatment we wanted to do next. While he did not have the most comforting bedside manner, he was compassionate and understanding of my fears and feelings.
My nurse [at Kutteh Ke Fertility Associates] ALWAYS called me back within an hour if I called her. She also always called to inform me of my next steps at every stage of our treatments...The overall cost for an IUI was $497, but that did not include ultrasounds. The cost for the entire IVF procedure was laid out in very clear terms. With the ultrasounds, procedures, doctor’s fees, and meds, ours cost around $15,000.

Describe your experience with Kutteh Ke Fertility Associates.
The clinic will call ahead most of the time to let you know how much you owe at your next appointment. You will set up everything else through your nurse or at your appointment. You will have to wait to see the doctor for a while, but if you’re just there to get bloodwork or an ultrasound, then they will get you in and out quickly.

Describe William Kutteh's approach to eSET (elective single embryo transfer) vs. multiple embryo transfer at Kutteh Ke Fertility Associates.
Dr. Kutteh advised us to use one embryo based on my age (31) and the quality and number of our day 5 blastocysts. We trusted him and didn’t want to have multiples.
I believe Dr. Kutteh is very smart and compassionate about his work and helping patients achieve their goal of getting pregnant. I was disappointed that when my 1st ivf cycle was canceled and changed to an IUI that he didn’t want to meet with myself and my husband to discuss a new plan and protocol. He did call me on the phone and we discussed it but I think that is something that needs to be done in person.
Overall their staff [at Kutteh Ke Fertility Associates] is great. I’m not a huge fan of their front desk people but it’s not the end of the world. The people who draw your blood in the back are amazing and don’t seem to hurt at all. Their ultrasound techs are good too...My nurse is nice and I have spoken to one other nurse when mine was gone already and she was very nice too...I think we paid them close to 10,000 for our first cycle not including meds or what we would have paid for the retrieval or transfer since we didn’t get that far. The money we didnt use we have as a credit for our next cycle.

What's one piece of advice would you give a prospective patient of William Kutteh at Kutteh Ke Fertility Associates?
You have to be your own advocate. Do your own research as well.
During treatment, were you treated like a number or a human with William Kutteh at Kutteh Ke Fertility Associates?
I believe in looking at numbers and sometimes myself I get caught up in the numbers because I am a nurse and you do spend so much time using numbers to help determine a plan of care but I also believe that doctors and nurses should be an advocate for your patient. I have a low amh and slightly high fsh and I believe they want to push donor eggs on me more than me trying to use my own eggs. I want a doctor who will tell me not to give up on having a baby with my own eggs until we exhausted all options. I am learning through this journey I have to be my own advocate.
Describe the protocols William Kutteh used in your cycles at Kutteh Ke Fertility Associates and their degree of success.
My first ivf cycle I did 75 or menopur and 275 of gonol f. I made it to day 6 of stims when my cycle was changed to an IUI. They only found one follicle on my right ovary and the ultrasound tech said she couldn’t find my left ovary. (Which I have, it had never been removed). On day 6 my estrogen dropped and the said my progesterone was over one so they knew I would ovulate that follicle. I took the trigger shot at 5pm that night and the next day we went in for the IUI. When I finally talked to Dr. Kutteh over a week later he said he knew this was a possibility because of my numbers. We all knew going in to this I might not respond well. So this time we will be doing the Schoolcraft protocol with Lupron.

We haven’t made it to an egg retrieval yet but I do believe if the patient wants you to transfer two embryos then they should. The patient should be able to have a say in that decision.
