Attention to Detail

Attention to detail is on a 1 - 10 scale, and is scored based on the rate, and severity, of errors committed by the clinic according to the patients.

For example, a severe error might be failing to inform a patient of critical information, while a small error might be failing to call a patient with results.

CDC Success Rates

This is the most recent data from the CDC. The CDC cautions that it should not be used to compare doctors and clinics. This data represents the outcomes of IVF cycles when using a person's own eggs.

For more information please see our FAQs.

Where you see a “?” on the chart, a clinic has done fewer than 20 cycles in this category and age range, so the CDC says showing percentages from this small data set would be misleading and unreliable.

Dr Glassner is a straight-shooter, he doesn't sugar coat things and every bit of advice he shares is backed by data, science and experience. Dr Glassner is very well informed on current stats to help predict likelihood of success and he works with other experts in his practice to round out his expertise...Dr Glassner is innovative so you may try some things out of the ordinary, but it is in your best interest...he is behind the scenes and VERY well-versed on your situation. Dr Glassner reaches out personally for big news and discussions on next steps and options, so he is very much part of the care but can't do every follow-up call...and you have a lot of those calls with infertility!
[Main Line Fertility] Strengths: Deep and broad expertise and experience across the practice lends to creative solutions to identifying and treating fertility issues. Talented team of doctors - if needed, you can switch to work w/a practitioner better suited to your case. How was your experience with Michael Glassner at Main Line Fertility (Prelude Network clinic)?
Dr Glassner is a straight-shooter, he doesn't sugar coat things and every bit of advice he shares is backed by data, science and experience. Dr Glassner is very well informed on current stats to help predict likelihood of success and he works with other experts in his practice to round out his expertise. Dr Glassner is incredibly skilled in all of his procedures - from the hysteroscopy to the retrieval and transfer. He demonstrates incredible precision. I found him to inject humor into situations. While I couldn't see him with every visit due to Covid, every time I spoke with him on the phone, I felt fully cared for and that he was in this journey with me and my husband just as much as we were. I appreciated Dr Glassner's candor, sometimes you just need the truth. I wished for more contact with him at times, but he does a TON of procedures and cases more complex than mine, so I was okay with the follow-up calls when he couldn't see me. Patients need to be willing to deal with that aspect of his care. He is behind the scenes reviewing the chart, results, etc. though! He has a great team that fills in for the in-person touch/experience.
What's one piece of advice would you give a prospective patient of Michael Glassner at Main Line Fertility (Prelude Network clinic)?
Be prepared to hear things you may not want to hear but need to know and be open to exploring different options to achieve the outcome you desire. Dr Glassner is innovative so you may try some things out of the ordinary, but it is in your best interest. If you are looking for a hug at every visit and a high-touch doctor, Dr Glassner relies on a team to help him with some communications & follow-up. You need to trust he is behind the scenes and VERY well-versed on your situation. Dr Glassner reaches out personally for big news and discussions on next steps and options, so he is very much part of the care but can't do every follow-up call...and you have a lot of those calls with infertility!
During treatment, were you treated like a number or a human with Michael Glassner at Main Line Fertility (Prelude Network clinic)?
From my first Consult w/Dr Glassner, he showed empathy and huge amounts of support for my situation as his wife went through a similar journey. He was real - never wanting to put me or my husband through something if we weren't creating embryos. He was funny - always had a joke to make me smile or relax. The unwavering support he provided was a huge help in my journey.
Describe the protocols Michael Glassner used in your cycles at Main Line Fertility (Prelude Network clinic) and their degree of success.
The Lupron flare protocol was not a successful one for me. I was successful on an antagonist protocol. Letrozole tabs for first 6 days. Menopur and Gonal 2x/day, typically 9-10 days for me then Cetrotide near end of cycle before HcG trigger shot. I stimmed for 10-12 days before transfer. I was a great responder and we always retrieved 20+ eggs. I am over 40 but with great AMH, but quality was a concern. Fortunately we got the normal tested embryos we needed to achieve pregnancy with my eggs.
Describe your experience with your nurse at Main Line Fertility (Prelude Network clinic). (Assigned nurse: Maureen Bridget Kristen Julie Deborah)
The nursing staff at MLF is nothing short of phenomenal. I had days where I was bawling my eyes out and they helped me get through. The nurses always offered encouraging words, made me feel like they were in it with me. The calls I received were always detailed and when I called with follow-up questions, they were 100% on top of it. Nurses would write notes in my chart and I ALWAYS had my questions answered that same day. They were my cheerleaders, my caretakers, my support system...they are the heart & soul of MLF. It's amazing what they do and the level of excellence they achieve with that volume. Deborah drew my blood a bajillion times and she always had kinds words of support and always conveyed my feelings to the nurses and doctors so they knew how I was feeling on a given day. Post-vaccine, she could even offer me a hug. Bridget, Maureen, Julie, Kristen...each of them asked how I was doing emotionally at my appointments and provided emotional support and encouragement to me while also being thorough. The surgical nurses are phenomenal - Tina and Lauren - they called me personally to congratulate me when I became pregnant. I rec'd the most thoughtful message that brought me to tears. I couldn't believe how many people at MLF were genuinely rooting for me along the way. My journey was a long & winding road and often uphill but I never felt alone or discouraged thanks to the nurses and the care team in place MLF. They are tremendous and I hope I didn't forget anyone!

Opportunities: Some doctors are less hands-on at each visit, if you need that, make sure you are up front so you are paired w/a doc who will give that to you. Lots and lots of follow-up visits and bloodwork, can feel excessive at times. Busy, busy offices where wait times for appointments sometimes are a bit long, plan ahead.

Dr. Glassner was candid about the unknowns when coming up with a game plan. He explained that IVF would minimize my chances of having another miscarriage, but I didn't feel pushed to chose IVF over a much more affordable IUI. He took the time to call me when I experienced a miscarriage and to personally share good news of a positive beta HCG. I've been to two other clinics and no other doctor showed me the same compassion.
[Main Line Fertility] has two "sides," the IVF side and the doctor side. The doctor side is for monitored cycles, IUI and pregnancy monitoring, and is much slower during visits. They are very busy, but you also meet with the doctor or PA at every visit, which is why the time is longer...On the IVF side, it's a well oiled machine and very quick...Everyone was so kind during my monitoring appointments and procedures.

Understand that he is busy, but he knows what he is doing.
During treatment, were you treated like a number or a human with Michael Glassner at Main Line Fertility (Prelude Network clinic)?
Although Dr. Glassner is very busy, I usually felt like a person while in treatment at MLF. At times, he can run late to appointments or seemed rushed, but my experience with the support staff and nurses was exceptional. Dr. Glassner is very knowledgable and I felt confident in his recommendations.
Describe the protocols Michael Glassner used in your cycles at Main Line Fertility (Prelude Network clinic) and their degree of success.
Dr. Glassner said that I could proceed with IUI or IVF, but IVF with genetic testing would reduce the chances of another miscarriage. Based on inconsistent results on the POC, we weren't sure the cause of the miscarriages. One theory was an embryo quality issue, which IVF would help identify. After experiencing a fourth miscarriage after a natural conception, we decided to move forward with IVF. I was provided with what I think is a standard retrieval protocol (Menupur, Gonal-F, Centrocide, HCG trigger). It was also recommended that I start Metformin, and CoQ10, which I did months before the retrieval. After we had an excellent retrieval and embryo growth, Dr. Glassner recommended that I do an immune protocol ("kitchen sink") for the frozen embryo transfer. I took neupogen, prednisone, lovenox, Metformin, IV intralipids biweekly, baby aspirin, PIO, progesterone, and estradiol. We slowly weaned off the meds as the pregnancy progressed.
Describe your experience with the nursing staff at Main Line Fertility (Prelude Network clinic).
I loved the nursing staff at MLF. Everyone was so kind during my monitoring appointments and procedures. They are thorough when explaining your results and next steps. During my egg retrieval and FET, the procedure nurses were kind and attentive.

They are very busy, but you also meet with the doctor or PA at every visit, which is why the time is longer. Although it could be stressful to spend extra time at the clinic before work, I appreciated the regular one-on-one consultation with the PA. On the IVF side, it's a well oiled machine and very quick.
Describe the costs associated with your care under Michael Glassner at Main Line Fertility (Prelude Network clinic).
The cost of my care was considerable, even with a veteran's discount. With the discount, the egg retrieval was about $7200, medications were about $3500, anesthesia fee was $500, first transfer fee was $2000, PGS testing was $5030 (16 embryos), freezing and storage was $1350 (annually). For the transfer and immune protocol, I probably spent around $3000 for all of the meds.
Describe Michael Glassner's approach to eSET (elective single embryo transfer) vs. multiple embryo transfer at Main Line Fertility (Prelude Network clinic).
Dr. Glassner strongly recommended a single embryo transfer, which I agreed with.

Success w/ Doc Too early to know
He [Dr. Glassner] is very straightforward and can seem a little blunt, but it helps reinforce his confidence and experience in what he does. We are currently going through an incredibly difficult ectopic pregnancy that we are treating with medications, and Dr. Glassner was available on call for questions. He knows us by name, he is so optimistic it's infectious. I don't think we would continue our pursuit of becoming parents without him.
We have our first IVF orientation next week and will look into pre-implantation genetic testing [at Main Line Fertility] to help us get the best results possible...The nursing staff over the past few months have been so supportive. They are excited each month to hear if we have good news to share, and when the positive test comes, they are elated...We anticipate paying around $20,000 for IVF and PGD...There are always appointments available at convenient times. It's already very difficult going through testing, monitoring appointments and now recheck appointments, let alone balancing them with work schedules. This clinic is so accommodating and really understands the stress that couples go through during this process, and they make every effort to make it as easy as possible.
How was your experience with Michael Glassner at Main Line Fertility (Prelude Network clinic)?
Dr Glassner is confident, is able to build rapport very quickly and explains the tests, treatments and plan very accurately without overwhelming us. I am fortunate to be in the medical field, but my husband is not, but Dr. Glassner was patient with him and was able to communicate equally well with both of us. Dr. Glassner is an incredibly confident, capable doctor who really listens to what the patients' needs and goals. He is energetic and upbeat, and though may seem blunt at times, I think he really cares about each patient. I feel incredibly fortunate to be one of his patients.
During treatment, were you treated like a number or a human with Michael Glassner at Main Line Fertility (Prelude Network clinic)?
After 2 miscarriages, we went to see Dr. Glassner for help. We were able to conceive after 6 cycles, but we found out that the pregnancy was not normal, though we weren't sure why initially. Dr. Glassner and his team helped us through the few first days after finding out our pregnancy was not going to continue. He was able to determine the cause and spent hours working with us to determine a treatment and the next steps. After going through 2 miscarriages alone, with only minimal input from our regular OB/Gyn, Dr Glassner's help and assistance lessened the heartache, sadness and confusion and has us optimistic for the next steps. We told ourselves we would not continue pursuing having a child, but his support is helping us to keep trying to achieve our dream of becoming parents.
Describe the protocols Michael Glassner used in your cycles at Main Line Fertility (Prelude Network clinic) and their degree of success.
Because of our previous miscarriages, we knew we could get pregnant, but we were concerned of the quality of the eggs. We were also worried that we were getting older, so the odds of miscarriage was only going to increase. Initially we said that IVF was off the table and that if we had another miscarriage, we were going to stop trying. Dr. Glassner agreed that we could just try medications like Clomid and Femara to help us get pregnant again faster and hope that the pregnancy would be successful. We used just clomid for 4 cycles with no luck. We then moved to clomid and femara with IUI and were able to get pregnant on our 2nd cycle. We saw a gestational sac initially, but a week later there was nothing in the uterus but a probable ectopic pregnancy was found on my ovary. We discussed options, including surgery to diagnose exactly what was going on, but Dr. Glassner was able to help with non-invasive treatment. Even though we are devastated to lose another pregnancy, Dr. Glassner's support and confidence helped us make the decision to move forward. We have our first IVF orientation next week and will look into pre-implantation genetic testing to help us get the best results possible.

The nursing staff over the past few months have been so supportive. They are excited each month to hear if we have good news to share, and when the positive test comes, they are elated. They are making this terrible situation bearable.

I have not seen all that I have wanted since transferring over to [Dr. Glassner]. I do not see many changes being made after failures. He will say that we are making a new change and then I have remind him what he says is what we have already done...He knows what he is talking about with me when we have a meeting set. But I am not sure he would have any idea about my case or me if we didn't have a meeting set
This is too much going on at this clinic [at Main Line Fertility]. I am feeling more and more like a number opposed to being a valued patient. I think this clinic is taking on too much and over-extending the staff. I am not sure who my nurse is. I feel like i have been pushed around to a couple different ones...I have had a lot of conflicting information through out my time here. I have to correct the doctors and nurses at almost every step. There seems to be a lack of communication between those steps.

The first appointment [Dr. Allison Bloom] was great...transfer I had by Dr. Bloom was horribly painful she said “your cerix is back” and spent 5-10 min pecking the catheter against my uterus...very combative and very overly confident...medicated cycle...omnitrope for my egg retrievals
When I had a blighted ovum/ early loss and needed a d+e to remove the pregnancy product (tissues), [Main Line Fertility] did this while I was awake...embryologist gave us our embryos when we left their clinic and he just picked them up out of the tank and was like it’s fine...wait 30-45 min for a monitoring appt
How was your experience with Allison Bloom at Main Line Fertility (Prelude Network clinic)?
The first appointment she was great. Making so many promises and just kept saying “let’s get you pregnant”. The transfer I had by Dr. Bloom was horribly painful she said “your cerix is back” and spent 5-10 min pecking the catheter against my uterus (I could see it on the screen) and she finally got it in. They don’t do mock embryo trials at this clinic so she had no idea that my uterus is retroverted. After the failed transfer she explained her wife had many fails and miscarriages (she also said her and her wife didn’t do pgt testing, which is something she pushed for me to do which made it confusing since her and her wife finally had success). She was very combative and very overly confident after I told her I was upset about my failed transfer. She said at the end of the day I have a list of fails and list of successes. And they are similar in numbers (their success rate for pgt testing claims to be over 60% percent so those lists should not be even).
What's one piece of advice would you give a prospective patient of Allison Bloom at Main Line Fertility (Prelude Network clinic)?
She comes off very kind and will charm you. You will then learn she is stretched too thin and need an ego check and needs more training. If you tell her you are in pain she will tell you no you aren’t.
During treatment, were you treated like a number or a human with Allison Bloom at Main Line Fertility (Prelude Network clinic)?
It’s a factory in both the Havertown and Brynmawr office. They want to pack in as many patients as they can and sell as made add on services as they can that have no research to back them up like the ERA.
Describe the protocols Allison Bloom used in your cycles at Main Line Fertility (Prelude Network clinic) and their degree of success.
She did a medicated cycle. She did suggest omnitrope for my egg retrievals. I did get 5 pgt tested normals embryos but out of those 5 none of them resulted in a pregnancy.
Describe your experience with the nursing staff at Main Line Fertility (Prelude Network clinic).
Maureen was amazing. The other nurses just wanted to do their jobs and leave.
Describe your experience with Main Line Fertility (Prelude Network clinic).
They will sell you era and all the add ons. They spend money on getting interviews and getting best doctors lists with the money they made from the add ons that don’t have research to back them up. I’m sure they were great at one point but they aren’t trust worthy and I don’t believe they are research based. Also every doctor has different methods they like-based on opinion, not on research. It gets confusing in the support group because some people are like well my doctor did this or mine doesn’t use lupron. It’s very hard and confusing to know if you are getting opinions or research based care. After 5 total pgt tested embryos that never resulted in our baby we changed labs/ clinics created new embryos and my 1st transfer worked at the new clinic with new embryos. I’m now 13 weeks and I cannot believe I wasted 2 years at Main Line Fertility. Grateful for where I’m at today though.

When I had a blighted ovum/ early loss and needed a d+e to remove the pregnancy product (tissues), they did this while I was awake. It was the most excruciating pain I’ve ever experienced. They sucked out the tissses with a vacuum like contraption. They said I didn’t need to be sedated since I wasn’t very far along when I had the loss. I was screaming at the top of my lungs during it. The embryologist gave us our embryos when we left their clinic and he just picked them up out of the tank and was like it’s fine! He didn’t seem to care and lacked complete focus when handling our embryos. Probably why so many people don’t have successful transfers or why their patients have so many unexplained early losses. Also the clinic lacks organization. I think their outcomes speak for themselves. Some people find success here but I don’t think they follow a protocol and system that guarantees more people success.

She [Dr. Allison Bloom] has the perfect mix of compassion, empathy, humor, realism, and optimism, and she always met me where I was. My retrievals did not go as expected, and she was tireless in trying new protocols and encouraging me that we would figure something out, while also checking in on my mental health and reminding me that it was okay to take a break...Any time that I had a question or needed to talk to her, I got a call back the same day.
Everyone I met [at Main Line Fertility], from the front desk to the OR to billing was welcoming, caring, and compassionate. I never had to wait long for appointments, they almost always had early morning monitoring appointments available...They use paper charts which was surprising at first, but it didn't negative impact their efficiency at all (I have heard they're transitioning to an electronic medical record)
How was your experience with Allison Bloom at Main Line Fertility (Prelude Network clinic)?
I truly can't say enough good things about Dr. Bloom. My husband and I traveled ~5 hours to see her and would do it again in a heartbeat (and will eventually, since we want more than one child). We transferred to Main Line Fertility after a disappointing first clinic experience, and she instantly put our minds at ease. She has the perfect mix of compassion, empathy, humor, realism, and optimism, and she always met me where I was. My retrievals did not go as expected, and she was tireless in trying new protocols and encouraging me that we would figure something out, while also checking in on my mental health and reminding me that it was okay to take a break. She was open to my questions and ideas about different protocols, and thoroughly explained what we were doing (and why) every step of the way. When I got disappointing retrieval results, she called to follow up with me the same day and shared my disappointment. And when I finally got good news from a retrieval, she called me with the news herself. Any time that I had a question or needed to talk to her, I got a call back the same day. I always felt calmer and reassured after talking to her, and have taken a lot of comfort in this bumpy ride knowing that I was in such good hands with her.
What's one piece of advice would you give a prospective patient of Allison Bloom at Main Line Fertility (Prelude Network clinic)?
Make an appointment with her! You won't regret it.
During treatment, were you treated like a number or a human with Allison Bloom at Main Line Fertility (Prelude Network clinic)?
Dr. Bloom really took the time to get to know me and my husband from our very first appointment. She talked to us about our family size goals and made her recommendations based on what we told her, which is not something our first RE did. Dr. Bloom always took the time to answer my questions and provide thorough explanations. She is extremely empathetic and optimistic, and I always felt that she was personally invested in our success.
Describe the protocols Allison Bloom used in your cycles at Main Line Fertility (Prelude Network clinic) and their degree of success.
First retrieval: 2 weeks of birth control suppression, antagonist protocol. 18 eggs retrieved, 11 mature. 9 conventional, 4 ICSI. 2 fertilized (both from conventional group). 1 day 5 blast, 0 PGT. Second retrieval - microdose lupron + growth hormone. 10 days estrace priming, growth hormone priming (every day for 5 days), then growth hormone every other day during stims. 15 eggs retrieved, 15 mature. All conventional IVF. 3 fertilized, 2 day 6 blasts, 1 PGT normal. Third retrieval - microdose lupron. 10 days estrace priming. 21 eggs retrieved, all ICSI. 9 mature, 2 fertilized, 2 day 6 blasts, 2 PGT normal.
Describe your experience with the nursing staff at Main Line Fertility (Prelude Network clinic).
Every nurse that I encountered at Main Line Fertility was kind, caring, and seemed invested in my journey. They answered questions whenever I had them, returned calls quickly, and were endlessly encouraging. During one of my retrieval cycles, I had a family wedding out of town that I really wanted to attend. The nurse I had been seeing during monitoring went out of her way to make sure that my schedule could be adjusted to make it to the wedding and keep my retrieval on track. I appreciate how much they recognize that we have lives outside of the intense treatment schedule, and try to accommodate that as much as possible. I felt like they celebrated my successes with me and were there for me with empathy and compassion when things didn't go as planned.
Describe your experience with Main Line Fertility (Prelude Network clinic).
Main Line Fertility is a wonderful clinic. Everyone I met, from the front desk to the OR to billing was welcoming, caring, and compassionate. I never had to wait long for appointments, they almost always had early morning monitoring appointments available, and they had great Covid protocols that made me feel very safe. The clinic is bright and welcoming, with lots of messages of encouragement. They use paper charts which was surprising at first, but it didn't negative impact their efficiency at all (I have heard they're transitioning to an electronic medical record). If anything, it was nice to have the clinicians focused on me rather than their computers.
Describe the costs associated with your care under Allison Bloom at Main Line Fertility (Prelude Network clinic).
I was very lucky to have excellent insurance that covered the majority of the cost of treatment after I met a $7,500 OOP max. I paid $2,500 for each batch of embryos that we sent for genetic testing, and a $500 anesthesia fee for each retrieval. I also paid about $2,500 for growth hormone during the retrieval cycle that we used it, as it was not covered by insurance.
Describe Allison Bloom's approach to eSET (elective single embryo transfer) vs. multiple embryo transfer at Main Line Fertility (Prelude Network clinic).
We did not discuss the transfer of multiple embryos.

Dr. Glasner treated me with less medication than any other clinic or IVF treatment I have previously had. His focus was on getting better quality eggs vs a high quantity of eggs...He explained the procedures and processes very clearly along with the likelihood of success. I am grateful that Dr. Glassner treated me as an individual patient versus other clinics that use the same procedures for 20-year-old as they do for a 40-year-old.
The nursing staff at mainline fertility went above and beyond each time I was in the office. I never felt like I was being rushed they answered any and all questions I had. They showed compassion and understanding of my situation. They are very knowledgeable of treatments and medication....
How was your experience with Michael Glassner at Main Line Fertility (Prelude Network clinic)?
I am so grateful to Dr. Glassner. He excepted me as a patient despite my age and my past history with failed IVF. He did this after other clinics turned me away. He explained the procedures and processes very clearly along with the likelihood of success. I am grateful that Dr. Glassner treated me as an individual patient versus other clinics that use the same procedures for 20-year-old as they do for a 40-year-old.

Describe the protocols Michael Glassner used in your cycles at Main Line Fertility (Prelude Network clinic) and their degree of success.
I had three IVF retrievals with Dr. Glasner. Dr. Glasner treated me with less medication than any other clinic or IVF treatment I have previously had. His focus was on getting better quality eggs vs a high quantity of eggs.

Dr. Gocial was the only doctor who looked at our previous cycles and pinpointed issues based on outcomes...He also recommended several pre-testing measures which ended up making a big difference for us in the end which no other doctor had recommended before...always kind and up front but hopeful. He always gave me the time I needed to answer questions and explore options. He even called me back after hours on his way home several times...
the nursing staff [at Main Line Fertility] was the best part of the experience. They were all incredibly friendly, kind, warm and compassionate. Several times I had to go for appointments when I needed an injection. My husband always did them for me and they never hesitated to ask if I needed help or wanted them to do it for me. They also always took the time I needed to explain things and answer questions...
How was your experience with Benjamin Gocial at Main Line Fertility (Prelude Network clinic)?
I interviewed just about every doctor in Philly before choosing to work with Dr. Gocial. After 2 failed retrievals and 6 transfers plus exhausting out fertility coverage, we wanted to choose the perfect care provider. Dr. Gocial was the only doctor who looked at our previous cycles and pinpointed issues based on outcomes (being able to say this level dipped here which causes this outcome and this is what I would do to correct the problem). He also recommended several pre-testing measures which ended up making a big difference for us in the end which no other doctor had recommended before. Having unexplained infertility is totally frustrating but he was able to help us learn that I have a delayed uterine lining maturation meaning we needed to delay transfer by 18 hours. He also adjusted medication levels and in the end, we did retrieval in October, transfer in November and I had a positive test by Thanksgiving.
What's one piece of advice would you give a prospective patient of Benjamin Gocial at Main Line Fertility (Prelude Network clinic)?
As wonderful as everyone is, be your own advocate. Ask questions if you aren’t sure. Enquire about things you’ve heard or read. It can’t ever hurt to ask and some of my suggestions were taken into account for my treatment plan.
During treatment, were you treated like a number or a human with Benjamin Gocial at Main Line Fertility (Prelude Network clinic)?
Dr. Gocial was always kind and up front but hopeful. He always gave me the time I needed to answer questions and explore options. He even called me back after hours on his way home several times. From the first consult I knew he was the doc for us. I’m fairly anxious and he really decreased my fears and worries. I had been through 2 retrievals and 6 transfers with no success before working with him so I came in fairly fragile but he always treated me with kindness and care.
Describe the protocols Benjamin Gocial used in your cycles at Main Line Fertility (Prelude Network clinic) and their degree of success.
We started the protocol with an estrogen and human growth hormone prime starting about 10 days before cycle start. My main medication was gonal f and we did a dual trigger.
Describe your experience with the nursing staff at Main Line Fertility (Prelude Network clinic).
Honestly we chose MLF because of Dr. Gocial but the nursing staff was the best part of the experience. They were all incredibly friendly, kind, warm and compassionate. Several times I had to go for appointments when I needed an injection. My husband always did them for me and they never hesitated to ask if I needed help or wanted them to do it for me. They also always took the time I needed to explain things and answer questions. I love that they have the poster in every room with their names and pictures since COVID makes masking hard to know what people look like.
Describe your experience with Main Line Fertility (Prelude Network clinic).
Main Line was like night and day from my previous clinic. I always felt like a number before but never at MLF. There was a catastrophic phone issue when I was waiting to plan my trigger shot and my nurse called me from her cell phone to make sure I had the info and her contact since no one could call the main number. It’s clear they put patients above all else and it shows in their care. I went to both the Philly and Bryn Mawr locations and staff were equally as kind at both places.
Describe the costs associated with your care under Benjamin Gocial at Main Line Fertility (Prelude Network clinic).
When all was said and done for testing through transfer plus meds and all genetic testing and embryo freezing we spent $34,000. A big chunk of this was our medication because the human growth hormone is about $500 per dose and I took it for almost a month. Main Line worked with us to provide discounts based on my husband’s job in law enforcement and were able to bundle some packages for us which was helpful.
Describe Benjamin Gocial's approach to eSET (elective single embryo transfer) vs. multiple embryo transfer at Main Line Fertility (Prelude Network clinic).
Dr. Gocial was very clear that his goal was for us to have a healthy, singleton pregnancy and was not interested in having us transfer more then 1 embryo which we were totally good with.
What specific things went wrong at Main Line Fertility (Prelude Network clinic)?
  • Lost appointments
  • Provided conflicting information
Describe the specific things that went wrong at Main Line Fertility (Prelude Network clinic).
Very minor issue in that out initial consult was double booked and therefore was canceled at the last minute. Additionally, there was a mix up with when I was supposed to start my progesterone shots for embryo transfer which I called and questioned because it didn’t look right to me and I was correct.

Dr Gocial is an excellent and skilled surgeon. I had a very complex fibroid situation and he was able to expertly remove it in one surgery, left no scarring and I was able to move to transfer in 3 months. My recovery was amazing because he is so great at his job. In my initial visit, he walked me through my case, showed me the images and explained everything that was going on with me...it was incredibly helpful and empowering to have the info he shared. Because of his in-depth explanation, we were able to make good decisions about next steps and coordinate with my other doctors...

Opportunities: busy office, might have to wait for appointments...Amazing team in the office and at the hospital. All the nurses love Dr Gocial and it is easy to understand why - he is a wonderful human being and treats people with such respect...

Dr Glassner is a great doctor who obviously has ton of experience. He knows what he is doing. Problem lies in the number of patients they see and I felt my treatment fell through the cracks...[he] firmly follows ASRM recommendations and below 40 years would only consider eSET for ivf... Sometimes I felt like cattle being herded - sometimes like a human.
[Main Line Fertility is] a very busy clinic. Do advocate for yourself and don't leave the visit unless you are very clear about the protocol chosen for you. Most nurses are very nice and supportive. Dont hesitate to take a second opinion...[clinic error] I was not told to start a specific stimming medication at a specific date and I was blamed for it. Most of the infertile women are on top of the medications they need to take and I felt disappointed when that happened.
How was your experience with Michael Glassner at Main Line Fertility (Prelude Network clinic)?
Dr Glassner is a great doctor who obviously has ton of experience. He knows what he is doing. Problem lies in the number of patients they see and I felt my treatment fell through the cracks. You have to advocate for yourself and be assertive for the information you are looking for. Otherwise they consults would last for only 5-7 mins with bunch of stats given and you leave your head scratching. My biggest pet peeve was that my records or treatment plan was sometimes discussed in front of other patients in the hallway or with half closed door for everyone to hear - even if its for few minutes. Reproductive history is sensitive info and whatever happened to HIPAA? Sometimes I felt like cattle being herded - sometimes like a human.
What's one piece of advice would you give a prospective patient of Michael Glassner at Main Line Fertility (Prelude Network clinic)?
Advocate for yourself. Ask specifics about the protocol he is choosing and what he aims to get it out for you.
During treatment, were you treated like a number or a human with Michael Glassner at Main Line Fertility (Prelude Network clinic)?
Somewhere in between a number or a human. We sought multiple opinions before we landed at Mainline for IVF. Having undergone 6 medicated and IUI cycles - we decided to stay with Dr Glassner after discussing the protocol with him. We felt comfortable. However things changed substantially after our failed 2nd cycle. It seemed we were not enough to provide the results that clinic would like and seemed pushed to go donor egg route. Made us uncomfortable.
Describe the protocols Michael Glassner used in your cycles at Main Line Fertility (Prelude Network clinic) and their degree of success.
In my first cycles - clomid and letrozole was used. In my 1st ivf - antagonist protocol was used. 2nd protocol - Lupron long with human growth hormone.
Describe your experience with the nursing staff at Main Line Fertility (Prelude Network clinic).
I have conflicting feelings about nursing staff. Few of the ivf nurses are amazing and had it been not them - I would have changed my clinic long ago. However there are few that I would shudder to see during stimming. One time very important dosage information was missed at the start of the cycle. Getting specific information sometimes can be difficult but mostly it was fine. But I must point to two incidents that moved me to tears. Good incident: I was very emotional on not receiving good news during my stimming. The nurse was extremely nice and compassionate and empathize with me. I will always remember how kindly she treated me. Bad incident: During last ivf stimming - I was extremely miserable as I could hardly keep 1 meal down. By this point I had lost 4 lbs and asked my nurse what I could do. I was told wryly that losing weight is good. Was very disappointed when I was spoken to like that and not believed.
Describe your experience with Main Line Fertility (Prelude Network clinic).
Its a very busy clinic. Do advocate for yourself and don't leave the visit unless you are very clear about the protocol chosen for you. Most nurses are very nice and supportive. Dont hesitate to take a second opinion

  • Failed to order appropriate test

I would say he [Dr. Glassner] has compassion and I liked his bluntness. I was really turned off by his lack of belief in my success unless I had IVF; it made me feel like no cycle would work and I was right...I have DOR and I was consistently given high doses of meds that I didn't respond to. My first cycle I accidently took one quarter of the dose and got 4x more follicles. Despite this they kept giving me high doses and meds that thinned my lining significantly.
[Main Line Fertility] Strengths- organization, fluidity of appointments, gives you most of your levels and follicle sizes on the same day. Weaknesses: complacency, leaves you on your own to figure out IVF meds, doesn't change protocols or adjust meds for diagnosis...Costs are pretty substantial with this Dr. $9300 an IVF cycle with a veteran discount before meds. Under $500 for IUI itself, but that doesn't include any monitoring or meds.
How was your experience with Michael Glassner at Main Line Fertility (Prelude Network clinic)?
He is a "no-bull" kind of doctor and I have heard he is amazing at IVF but he doesn't seem to care unless that is the treatment modality you are choosing. Meds are not adjusted, follicles left to over-mature, ovulation missed, doses that were too high again and again with crappy results or wrong meds for my diagnosis over and over again. Feels like the definition of insanity. I would say he has compassion and I liked his bluntness. I was really turned off by his lack of belief in my success unless I had IVF; it made me feel like no cycle would work and I was right. It's hard to go through fertility, let alone going through it with a doctor that has no hope for you and lets you know it. The one-size-fits-all approach doesn't work for everyone.
What's one piece of advice would you give a prospective patient of Michael Glassner at Main Line Fertility (Prelude Network clinic)?
If you have the money for IVF, he may be the doctor for you. If not, I would look elsewhere. Also, would not recommend for anyone with DOR/POI/POF.
During treatment, were you treated like a number or a human with Michael Glassner at Main Line Fertility (Prelude Network clinic)?
At first, the office was everything I thought it should be. I walked into my first consult with Dr. Glassner in 2017 pregnant. I went back in early 2019 when I had 3 periods in 6 weeks. When he was very discouraging of the IUI, saying even as he left the room after one that if "you were 25, I would tell you have a 20% chance- I just want to manage your expectations." After it was known that I planned to continue with IUI instead of IVF, it was the last time I saw the doctor and my care was seriously mis-managed; it felt like they didn't care.
Describe your experience with the nursing staff at Main Line Fertility (Prelude Network clinic).
I can't enough good things about many of the nurses and technicians there. Many were very pleasant and compassionate. They have the occasional bad mood but overall, great staff.

  • Failed to call in prescriptions to pharmacy
  • Failed to order appropriate test
  • Failed to consider drug intolerance
  • Canceled a cycle due to clinic error

I have DOR and I was consistently given high doses of meds that I didn't respond to. My first cycle I accidently took one quarter of the dose and got 4x more follicles. Despite this they kept giving me high doses and meds that thinned my lining significantly. The missed ovulation twice. Let follicles over-mature with no trigger shot. Did IUI without ever waiting for follicsignificantly. I had to ask for certain tests which ended up giving me a diagnosis. Some billing practices were suspect.

Dr. Glassner first had me do a full recurrent miscarriage panel that my previous doctor did not test for....Dr. Glassner is super understanding and compassionate while also very smart. He has seen tons of cases and knows which is the best path for you. He does not push anything on you. I came to him after four natural miscarriages, he laid out our best path and though I wasn't quite ready to start where he suggested, he was totally understanding of that and we set a different path. Also, when we first met him, he really felt for my husband during all of this, which no one really had before.
The offices at MLF have a tendency to be busy with alot of patients. But once you get into the room with Dr. Glassner, he makes you feel like you are the only patient and he does not rush you....This clinic is clean and new. Everything is run smoothly from sign in to when you are called back. There are times that you may wait and it may be very crowded, but that is because they take their time with each patient.

The offices at MLF have a tendency to be busy with alot of patients. But once you get into the room with Dr. Glassner, he makes you feel like you are the only patient and he does not rush you. He takes the time to answer all questions, give you his honest opinion and when needed a hug or encouraging words. After my fifth miscarriage, first under his care, he was kind enough to let me slip out the back door so I did not need to see anyone else. He is a super caring doctor.
Describe the protocols Michael Glassner used in your cycles at Main Line Fertility (Prelude Network clinic) and their degree of success.
Dr. Glassner first had me do a full recurrent miscarriage panel that my previous doctor did not test for. My first cycle he just monitored it. The second one we again just monitored it, but they did put me on progesterone post ovulation and baby aspirin (as a clot disorder came back in the panel). This cycle we achieved pregnancy on our own. However, this also ended in a miscarriage. We again did a natural cycle followed by one with Letrozole and monitoring. And now here we are in the middle of COVID. We were planning to move towards IVF once this is over.
Describe your experience with the nursing staff at Main Line Fertility (Prelude Network clinic).
The nurses are great and kept everything running smoothly. Everyone is so nice and compassionate. When I got pregnant they were excited but also understood my pause for concern. When I miscarried they were right there with me. If I ever had questions and called one of them would call me back that day.

Success w/ Doc Too early to know
Dr. Glassner spent time to get to know my situation and fertility history. He offered all possibly courses of action and treatment. He explained all possible courses and what those outcomes could be. He gave me and my partner time to decide the course we wanted to take and worked with us to complete that. ... My cycles began using follistim injectable medication because in the past I had used both clomid and letrazole without successful pregnancy. He monitored my cycle closely and when he determined it was time to trigger he performed a post coital test. The test did not show live sperm so IUI was suggested as the best course of treatment so this was done after triggering.
This clinic [Main Line Fertility] is clean and well organized. The waiting room is comfortable and various beverages are provided. The patient rooms are clean and accommodating. The only downfall is limited parking on your own; however, valet is available right at the front entrance and prices are fair. ... All of the nursing staff I encountered was pleasant, caring and compassionate. They were always available for questions and made the process very seamless. Alissa was extremely helpful and available to me.

Dr. Glassner is so kind and spends time with you answering every question that you may have...will explain everything to you including all risks. He is thorough...Our first retrieval didn't go as well as we hoped and he was the first to call me to discuss in detail and create a plan for a second retrieval that included slowing my body down so I could produce better quality/mature eggs. He is excellent!...We had triple the amount of mature eggs/ and triple the amount of normal embryos - ecstatic !
they [staff at Main Line Fertility] are helpful and on top of EVERYTHING! You can relax and know they will take care of you from consult, medications, insurance (which is a HUGE pain), financials.... the list goes on... I really cannot even imagine how difficult it could have been if hadn't left our prior clinic, Penn. Main Line Fertility is AMAZING!...Each and every nurse is extremely kind and helpful. If you have questions they will literally stop what that are doing and bring you into a consult room to re-review until you are completely comfortable. Amazing team!

First IVF retrieval med combo of Gonal-F/ Menapur. We didn't get as many mature eggs as we thought/hoped. Dr. Glassner decided we needed to slow the process down for my body. So for my second IVF retrieval he did a med combo Birth control (3 weeks), then Gonal-F/ Menapur/lupron. This process was longer, but so worth it. We had triple the amount of mature eggs/ and triple the amount of normal embryos - ecstatic !

Efficient well oiled machine. You are called back for blood work (super quick and easy), then you wait in a small waiting room (usually very brief), brought into private room for ultra sound, nurse discussion. If Dr. wants to see you you would then see them, or could request to see them. They call you around 3 pm that day with any results from blood-work or adjustments to be made to medications or protocol.

Strong preference to transfer one embryo at a time. Now, we had done genetic testing on the embryos and everything seems normal on my end, I am not sure if his preference would change with different patients - I'd imagine so

Dr glassner is caring and patient and logical. He saved my ovaries in a sense and gave us the best chance by first draining the cyst before egg retrievel instead of surgery. He is amazing! Thank you! ... Dr Glassner made me feel better through our situation that even though I’m missing a uterus I have a life and my life means something more than my uterus , he made me feel we can have a child through surrogacy and help it be as “normal” as possible. ...
They’re [nurses] wonderful people and work well together. Patient and caring!! Makes all the difference for follow ups and while taking medicines and feel a little sick from the meds . They gave tips how to manage and breathe calmly through the process ... I feel I honestly never saw any weaknesses [at Main Line Fert] in my journey with them so far. I feel all was done in a way it should be in a timely fashion. I feel the strengths are good communication , understanding and compassionate. I believe that patients need to go in honest and give it there all, and the drs and nurses in return will be there 100%. It is hard to sometimes open up altogether and be totally you in this hard journey of infertility but the more open and honest you are with yourself and the drs I think the more they can help you!
How was your experience with Michael Glassner at Main Line Fertility (Prelude Network clinic)?
He is genuine , patient , caring and understanding . Has a tremendous amount of knowledge! He is always ready to answer any question you have and infertility can be very lonely but he knows where to point you in the direction to get all the help you need regarding the physical and emotional ! No part of your journey goes unnoticed or uncovered, it definitely helps to make the difficult journey of infertility that much easier. For everyone it’s their own reason why they need to use a dr to help create their family but as wide as the spectrum of creating babies is , dr glassner is educated in all of the different areas and the challenges they bring and emotions that may arise. He is truly a GIFT from G-d! With His help and the help from G-d I do believe after this coronavirus we will be able to use our created embryos that he did for us and transfer them to our gestational Carrier and still receive the BEST care from him even though we’re nit the ones pregnant and our carrier is carrying for us. I believe G-d gave me a uterus to bring a life into this world and G-d took it away to save my life! I had an emergency hysterectomy during the birth of my first child. Dr Glassner made me feel better through our situation that even though I’m missing a uterus I have a life and my life means something more than my uterus , he made me feel we can have a child through surrogacy and help it be as “normal” as possible. No one is alone when you have Dr Glassner.

Describe the protocols Michael Glassner used in your cycles at Main Line Fertility (Prelude Network clinic) and their degree of success.
He did egg retrievel for me . So before I had to take medicine for 10-14 days in injection forms and then I had to go in for visits in a daily basis to check me levels to be ready for retrievel. During this time I also had a 9,5 cm cyst on my one ovary which dr glassner drained before starting medicines for egg retrievel because I had a hysterectomy he didn’t want me to do surgery before egg retrievel to remove the cyst Incase I’d lose the ovary. He wanted to get as many eggs as possible during retrievel. During the medicine taking the cyst filled up so the day of egg retrievel he drained the cyst Aswell as retrieving eggs, if it wasn’t for him I would’ve not gotten the amount of eggs he retrieved and possibly would’ve had surgery before the egg retrievel process and possibly only have had one ovary. Dr glassner is caring and patient and logical. He saved my ovaries in a sense and gave us the best chance by first draining the cyst before egg retrievel instead of surgery. He is amazing! Thank you!

Describe Michael Glassner's approach to eSET (elective single embryo transfer) vs. multiple embryo transfer at Main Line Fertility (Prelude Network clinic).
My only comment is that I am a triplet and my husband a twin and I’m 26 years old. I was born two months early and in an incubator for a month so I think I more than most understand the risks of multiple pregnancies . But the difference in my opinion now a days the technology and medical advancements are a lot more than 26 years ago and I think it in a sense can help ease the risk of multiple embryo transfers. Yes every situation is different and can be risky . A single embryo transfer can turn into identical twins , multiple transfer can only one . You never know , it’s up to G-d and ofcourse us as humans doing what we feel is right with caution. But the above is why I feel it’s ok to do multiple and why I would.

I saw Dr. Orris 3 times. The first two felt fine, but the last one was really uncomfortable. I had assumed we were stopping because the previous cycles had not been successful, and I was exhausted and ready to go elsewhere and try a new approach. But he seemed irritated with me, somewhat dismissive, and just told me what to do, even though the logistics of it presented a huge challenge given that I was also in the processing of moving across country, changing jobs and had no local clinic set up...we did an ERA cycle which was almost cancelled because my lining didn't thicken sufficiently, but Dr. Orris continued it anyway and did the ERA (which I had to pay out of pocket for). Only later did I learn from another reproductive endocrinologist at a large teaching hospital that ERA is not an especially useful test in the best of circumstances, and that a result from the end of what would otherwise have been considered a failed cycle cannot be interpreted in any way that would guide treatment during a successful cycle.
I thought they [the nurses at Main Line Fertility] were very friendly, kind, and good communicators. But after my last appointment I struggled on the "priming" estrogen and when I stopped after 2 weeks of high-dose estrogen, it took a combination of at least 6 emails and phone calls over 2 days to get a progesterone prescription called in...Little explanation of what was being done and why; poor documentation; ERA that should not have been done; and at the end a general feeling of paternalism rather than compassion or interest in discussing what I wanted in that situation.
How was your experience with John Orris at Main Line Fertility (Prelude Network clinic)?
I'm somewhat concerned about the communication, record-keeping/tracking and even the quality of care. I was told during a hysteroscopy that a biopsy was being taken (though not why or what it would inform) and it was noted in the report, but apparently nothing was sent to the lab and it was never reconciled as to why. Also, I keep copies of all of my medical records for times when I change providers, but the hysteroscopy - and all other treatment cycle notes - were scant, hand-written notes that other reproductive endocrinologists who reviewed them found surprisingly limited and difficult to interpret. Every diagnostic or treatment I've undergone elsewhere came with a complete typed report clearly describing what was done, why, and the outcome. Also, we did an ERA cycle which was almost cancelled because my lining didn't thicken sufficiently, but Dr. So if I really wanted a result that had any chance of being a predictive guide, I'd have to do (and pay for) it again.
What's one piece of advice would you give a prospective patient of John Orris at Main Line Fertility (Prelude Network clinic)?
Walk into every appointment with a list of questions and don't leave without answers. Ask for everything to be explained and documented clearly. And if it just doesn't feel right, speak up.

But after my last appointment I struggled on the "priming" estrogen and when I stopped after 2 weeks of high-dose estrogen, it took a combination of at least 6 emails and phone calls over 2 days to get a progesterone prescription called in. I felt fairly abandoned medically at that point.
Describe your experience with Main Line Fertility (Prelude Network clinic).
Front office staff were friendly and it was relatively easy to schedule appointments. They have several locations so there's some flexibility in where to go. I probably would not use them for outside monitoring as their notes are all handwritten and not necessarily clear and complete for others to review and make decisions based on. I don't have the impression that they're a referral clinic you would go to for any especially complicated situation. Also, the fees were not explained clearly or in any detail up front, so there were some surprises there later.
Describe the costs associated with your care under John Orris at Main Line Fertility (Prelude Network clinic).
I have excellent insurance that covered most of the costs. However, I did have to pay out-of-pocket for the ERA biopsy and for the donor embryo. I was somewhat surprised at the "restocking" fee when the cycle was cancelled as the embryo was not touched and there was no legal paperwork involved (at least none that I was party to, and I would imagine I would have to have been for there to have been a legal transfer).

Dr. Glassner is genuinely a caring person with a good sense of humor. On our first visit, he said that when we are in his office, he will talk to us about our case as though we are his own children. We have always felt that intimate care, compassion, and consideration for our case...is very precise with procedures, uses science to support his logic, and has years of experience and a caring mindset with which he approaches our treatment and plan. He is able to introduce humor to a stressful situation and relax the room. His confidence is contagious. I am hopeful that we are in good hands. I would recommend Dr. Glassner to my family and friends in a heartbeat.
Most [nurses at Main Line Fertility] were excellent and emphatic!...The doctors are knowledgeable about the latest science in reproductive health, very good at their work (procedures), and confident leaders. Nurses are on the same page and supportive to each doctor and patient. My only negative is that they are so good/busy that it can be a long wait. When I first came to MLF I was worried it would feel like a factory. After being there for a few months I realize that worry was eliminated within 2 visits. I feel like part of their family and am warmly greeted by nurses/phlebotomist multiple times each visit. Overall, I have been more than satisfied at Main Line Fertility and highly recommend it to anyone.

He [Dr. Michael Glassner] only will transfer one embryo at a time, due to his protocol...He ran every test under the sun and then some. After talking he advised that there really shouldn't be any issue of me getting pregnant. Donor sperm was perfect. He advised just because my periods were slightly irregular that I should start Metformin. It helps with balancing levels that women with PCOS usually have. It helped me lose 30 pounds. I started taking Metformin for about 6 months and was ready to finally start my IUI's.
13 eggs retrieved, 6 fertilized, 4 made it to blastocyst stage and I am awaiting PGS testing [at Main Line Fertility]...[The nurses are the] Best people you will ever meet. Caring, friendly, funny...Monitoring was run as best as possible. Waiting was to be expected and truthfully I never mind to wait for this doctor...For IVF, I cannot thank the financial coordinator and my guess is Dr. Glassner himself in helping me afford IVF. I was open and honest with him during my IVF consult about my finances. He let me know he'd help me out anyway he could.
How was your experience with Michael Glassner at Main Line Fertility (Prelude Network clinic)?
Please see my previous comments. The only reason Dr. Glassner didn't do all my procedures of IUI's except for one, is because I always fell on a weekend for the procedures. He did do my egg retrieval and I will, will myself for him to do my transfer when the time comes. His bedside manner is beyond impressive and always makes me laugh. I've never felt stressed or anything at any of my visits. I wish I saw him more during the IVF stage, but you can ALWAYS request to see him when you schedule your appointments.
What's one piece of advice would you give a prospective patient of Michael Glassner at Main Line Fertility (Prelude Network clinic)?
You are either going to love him, LOVE HIM or hate him. Remember he is not the reason you can't get pregnant, please do not blame him. He's only there to help make YOUR dreams a reality! If these dreams don't come true immediately, remember your dreams will come true eventually, even if it takes years. HE IS YOUR ALLY, NOT YOUR ENEMY!
During treatment, were you treated like a number or a human with Michael Glassner at Main Line Fertility (Prelude Network clinic)?
Dr. Glassner is the most caring, thoughtful man, and doctor I've ever come across. I started going to him towards the end of 2017 to have a Fertility work up as a single woman. From the beginning I knew he was the right doctor for me. He ran every test under the sun and then some. Dr. Glassner prescribed me Letrozole, for my first cycle. He knew I was excited and he set expectations for me saying IUI's usually don't work on the first try. He was right it failed. Went in for 4 more IUI's each time changing meds. One cycle was just Clomid. Another cycle was a combination of both maxed doses of Letrozole and Clomid. I conceived but miscarried at 17DPO. In 2019 we continued but this time skipped the oral meds and went to injectable meds. Failed in January, conceived in February but miscarried again. After this miscarriage and talking to him he knew I only had one vial of sperm left and we decided to head to IVF. I had my egg retrieval on Monday July 22nd 2019. 13 eggs retrieved, 6 fertilized, 4 made it to blastocyst stage and I am awaiting PGS testing. I cannot speak enough of Dr. Glassner. I know he has my best interest in mind and wants to keep me healthy during this entire time. I will forever be grateful to this man. Even though I am still awaiting my baby, I am hoping to have transfer this month August 2019, I know Michael will be able to make my dreams of becoming a mom a reality soon. Dr. Glassner if you are reading thank you from the bottom of my heart! I will forever be grateful for you!
Describe the protocols Michael Glassner used in your cycles at Main Line Fertility (Prelude Network clinic) and their degree of success.
Metformin, Letrozole, Clomid, Gonal-F, Menopur, Cetrotide, HCG Trigger Shot. Different levels of each. One cycle he did a maxed out dosage of a combination of Letrozole and Clomid.
Describe your experience with the nursing staff at Main Line Fertility (Prelude Network clinic).
Best people you will ever meet. Caring, friendly, funny. They are there to help you also!
Describe your experience with Main Line Fertility (Prelude Network clinic).
Fast, efficient, everyone treats you as family. I never feel as though I'm a number! After the first couple visits they (the front desk) knew my name! They do anything and everything to help make your experience the best possible! Nurses learned about how to get my blood within a few visits (I'm a tough stick). Ultrasound technicians are amazing. I have a tough right ovary that is hard to find, but they always are as gentle as possible and apologize for any discomfort I may be experiencing! LOVE EVERY ONE OF THESE PEOPLE IN THIS OFFICE!
Describe your experience with your monitoring appointments at Main Line Fertility (Prelude Network clinic).
Monitoring was run as best as possible. Waiting was to be expected and truthfully I never mind to wait for this doctor. I actually find my appointments relaxing and nonstressful.
Describe the costs associated with your care under Michael Glassner at Main Line Fertility (Prelude Network clinic).
IUI's weren't covered by insurance. ALL Monitoring was, all I had to do was pay co-pays. Paid out of pocket for the IUI's. For IVF, I cannot thank the financial coordinator and my guess is Dr. Glassner himself in helping me afford IVF. I was open and honest with him during my IVF consult about my finances. He let me know he'd help me out anyway he could. I don't know how I will EVER be able to show him my gratitude and love that I have for him and his clinic. I HAVE NO WORDS. Speechless. He has helped me out BEYOND my expectations! Once again Dr. Glassner THANK YOU from the bottom of my heart!! If there is one way to show my gratitude towards you and your clinic it is by writing this review! This is the least I could do!
Describe Michael Glassner's approach to eSET (elective single embryo transfer) vs. multiple embryo transfer at Main Line Fertility (Prelude Network clinic).
He only will transfer one embryo at a time, due to his protocol. Its healthier for mom and baby to be.

Dr. Glassner is wonderful! He spent a lot of time with us twice in consultation. We never felt rushed. He was gentle, kind, funny, and understood my spiritual bent and offered his own stories with his kids.... He is kind, patient, compassionate and honest. He shares his personal stories and is warm and funny. He has taken a lot of time with us answering questions. We never felt rushed and love that. He is wonderful!... He said it is our choice though he strongly advises single.
The office [Main Line Fertility] is friendly, modern, bright and well coordinated so that you move through each visit in an organized way. Everyone there is SO nice. They are always willing to talk and hear you. Our first visit had a long wait, but once we saw that 4 different people were willing to spend AS MUCH time with them as we needed and wanted, we didn’t care about the wait because we’d rather have this personalized care.

They have all spent a lot of time with us in person and on the phone, letting me cry, talking through options, and answering our million questions! Plus, they have a large egg bank and embryos, which is unique. We had been to another doctor that had the opposite bedside manner and are so happy we found Dr. Glassner! We love this office!

Dr. Gocial suggest that I get a ERA done. The rest showed that I was 2 days pre-receptive . To be sure he suggested that a second ERA be performed. The results were the same as the first . Using that data , the next cycle I took two extra days of Crinone. The cycle was a positive pregnancy test . There was a strong heartbeat at 6 weeks and 8 weeks. At 8 weeks and 5 days the heartbeat had stopped. I’m waiting for the results of the embryo biopsy .
[Main Line Fertility has] a financial coordinator that explains cost and financing in depth if needed. My ERAs were not covered , but I was made aware of the cost before hand . Any anesthesia cost are also not covered under any insurance. Storage fees for embryo and sperm are about 700 per year...My experience has been a good one. I went to another clinic prior and didn’t go for more than three visits . This was due to poor customer service . Mainline Fertility and Dr. Gocial have exceeded my expectations.
How was your experience with Benjamin Gocial at Main Line Fertility (Prelude Network clinic)?
Dr. Gocial is one of the most caring doctors . Although the end goal is a healthy pregnancy, he always considers me and my health. He always is concerned about my mental health . I never leave a visit felling lost or confused . He gives me all the options and we decide together . I wouldn’t trust anyone else .
What's one piece of advice would you give a prospective patient of Benjamin Gocial at Main Line Fertility (Prelude Network clinic)?
Be honest and open.
During treatment, were you treated like a number or a human with Benjamin Gocial at Main Line Fertility (Prelude Network clinic)?
All the staff at his office , including himself have always made me feel comfortable and cares about . They are there for me during each up and down.
Describe the protocols Benjamin Gocial used in your cycles at Main Line Fertility (Prelude Network clinic) and their degree of success.
I started this process right before I turned 40. I was tested for all of the norms ( egg reserve, uterine polyps, tubal damage ....). My egg retrieval was almost aborted because Dr. Gocial thought that I was going to hyperstimulate. He monitored me everyday and thankfully everything went well. He suggested PGD/PGS testing and I declined . My first transfer I used one embryo. He second I used two. Both produced negative pregnancy test . At that point Dr. Dr. Gocial suggested that I take a break before the next cycle . During the next 4 weeks I will be taking Norethindrone to suppress any possible endometriosis that has not been detected during other testing. He believes that this will assist with any implantation issues. I will also be doing genetic testing prior to transfer the next cycle .
Describe your experience with the nursing staff at Main Line Fertility (Prelude Network clinic).
I can’t say enough about the nurses at Mainline Fertility . They are so caring and compassionate. They cheer with you, cry with you, make you feel special. They nursing team has planned a major role in my love for the clinic.
Describe your experience with Main Line Fertility (Prelude Network clinic).
Strengths: Very personable Flexible scheduling Treated as an individual, not a number Very transparent with options and prices Offers financial assistance Entire team is awesome I don’t have any weaknesses to comment on. My experience has been a good one. I went to another clinic prior and didn’t go for more than three visits . This was due to poor customer service . Mainline Fertility and Dr. Gocial have exceeded my expectations.
Describe your experience with your monitoring appointments at Main Line Fertility (Prelude Network clinic).
I’m a nurse and I work overnight . I was always told long as I was there before 10:45am. So, I would say very flexible .
Describe the costs associated with your care under Benjamin Gocial at Main Line Fertility (Prelude Network clinic).
I’m blessed with 100% IVF coverage . They do have a financial coordinator that explains cost and financing in depth if needed. My ERAs were not covered , but I was made aware of the cost before hand . Any anesthesia cost are also not covered under any insurance. Storage fees for embryo and sperm are about 700 per year .
Describe Benjamin Gocial's approach to eSET (elective single embryo transfer) vs. multiple embryo transfer at Main Line Fertility (Prelude Network clinic).
Dr. Gocial is very conservative in that area. I respect him for that. For my individual situation he suggest single embryo transfer. I’m 42 and wouldn’t want to tale the chance or risk of multiple births .

Although my husband and I primarily saw the nurses, Dr. Orris was always a phone call away if needed - even on his personal line. After my first failed embryo transfer, Dr. Orris was right on the phone not only explaining the next steps but checking in and providing support...He is thorough, to the point, but yet still compassionate. I felt comfortable and safe in his care. It is clear that he takes pride in his work and wants the absolute best case scenario possible for every patient.
The whole staff [at Main Line Fertility] is friendly and compassionate. They make the unpleasant experience of being in a fertility center as pleasant as possible...Strengths - great atmosphere, you feel like family not just a patient, they will go above and beyond for anything you need. Weaknesses - none to date. I would recommend this clinic to my family and friends in a heartbeat...For egg retrieval - gonal f, which was reduced based on my body’s quick response. Cabergoline to help prevent OHSSS. I am receiving fertility treatment due to my husband’s journey with cancer. Prior to my husband’s diagnosis we had conceived one child naturally and had no prior history of infertility. My husband froze sperm prior to starting his treatments and is currently still undergoing treatment.

Dr. Orris chose eSET for our case as I do not struggle with infertility, but my husband and I are doing IVF due to my husband’s cancer diagnosis and continued treatment. Dr. Orris wants to keep his patients safe and limit multiples pregnancies.

Success w/ Doc Too early to know
Dr. Glassner is very knowledgeable and fairly blunt in his explanations. I personally appreciate the bluntness when it comes to my body, limitations, and expectations. Although blunt. it is evident Dr. Glassner cares about you as a person and helping you achieve my goals of having children is his complete focus. His humor and bedside manner was very helpful in alleviating stress and anxiety during procedures.... Dr. Glassner suggested an IUI during my initial appointments / testing to increase my chance of conception.
The clinic's [Main Line] strengths include a highly organized team of knowledgeable individuals who are aware of your history and plan of care. All nurses and doctors are compassionate and assist you in understanding all procedures, risks, and rationales for treatments. One weakness I would cite is simply the busy nature of the clinic, which does not allow itself to give you personal attention and quality time with each visit. Due to the business of the clinic, it is important for you to be well informed and to be an advocate for yourself and ask questions / facilitate conversations.

What's one piece of advice would you give a prospective patient of Michael Glassner at Main Line Fertility (Prelude Network clinic)?
I would advise patients that he is blunt, but extremely knowledgeable and compassionate. In general, i would advise any patient to be a self advocate, ask questions about anything that makes you feel confused or hesitant.
During treatment, were you treated like a number or a human with Michael Glassner at Main Line Fertility (Prelude Network clinic)?
Main Line Fertility is a busy clinic, so sometimes personal attention each visit was difficult, but anytime I needed questions answered or explanations, I was absolutely given the attention I needed.
Describe the protocols Michael Glassner used in your cycles at Main Line Fertility (Prelude Network clinic) and their degree of success.
Dr. Glassner suggested an IUI during my initial appointments / testing to increase my chance of conception. Since the initial did not work, he suggested Clomid for 3 cycles, increasing the dosage each time w/ IUI. All IUIs were negative. Due to the failed IUIs and my low AMH level, he suggested bypassing further injectibles and to continue w/ IVF. About to begin my initial IVF cycle.
Describe your experience with the nursing staff at Main Line Fertility (Prelude Network clinic).
All of the nursing staff was compassionate, answered any questions regarding procedures, and gave me a full explanation of what to expect with each procedure / visit.

Describe the costs associated with your care under Michael Glassner at Main Line Fertility (Prelude Network clinic).
My diagnostic testing was covered by insurance; however medications, IUIs, and IVF costs were not covered, and therefore out of pocket.
Describe Michael Glassner's approach to eSET (elective single embryo transfer) vs. multiple embryo transfer at Main Line Fertility (Prelude Network clinic).
Main Line has a strict one embryo policy, and I appreciate and agree with their ethical rationale behind it.

I wish he [Dr. Orris] would have met with me more and spent a little more time with us. I mainly just saw the nurses who were great. He didn't talk much I had to initiate most conversations and ask all the questions. I had faith in his work from all the other great reviews and success stories he recieved.... We did a mock transfer and ERA because i asked for it. Dr Orris agreed it sounded like a good idea. I was on 1.5ml of progesterone in oil, 400mg progesterone vaginal suppositories, 2mg estradiol 4 times a day, 50mcg synthroid for my thyroid as well.
I love that there a several locations. However, not all locations seem to have the same quality of care. [Main Line] Bryn Mawr had the best nurses, but was also the busiest and the parking was less then ideal as you can expect to pay around $5 a visit just to park. There is no public parking you are forced to use the parking garage. When you go a couple times a week it really adds up.... My estrogen was low after my transfer and they never called me to tell me a need to increase my dose.

Describe the specific things that went wrong at Main Line Fertility (Prelude Network clinic).
It was at the west Chester location. My estrogen was low after my transfer and they never called me to tell me a need to increase my dose. Also my thyroid was never rechecked after i started medication to bring my levels down. When i finally asked after a failed transfer they found out they had to double my dose to bring it to a normal range.
