Attention to Detail

Attention to detail is on a 1 - 10 scale, and is scored based on the rate, and severity, of errors committed by the clinic according to the patients.

For example, a severe error might be failing to inform a patient of critical information, while a small error might be failing to call a patient with results.

CDC Success Rates

This is the most recent data from the CDC. The CDC cautions that it should not be used to compare doctors and clinics. This data represents the outcomes of IVF cycles when using a person's own eggs.

For more information please see our FAQs.

Where you see a “?” on the chart, a clinic has done fewer than 20 cycles in this category and age range, so the CDC says showing percentages from this small data set would be misleading and unreliable.

I would recommend him [Dr. Nathan Berger] at his current practice for a women in her early 30s w/o any fertility problems who wanted an inexpensive doctor to perform pretty routine IUI (single or lesbian woman). Otherwise, I would say that his current practice doesn't measure up to other, more expensive places. He was really ideal when he had his own fertility practice...He was generally friendly, a bit of a god-complex maybe...
Currently, part of a fairly large and very busy gyn practice [Medstar Union Memorial]. Consider carefully if you need a 7 day a week practice and if you are likely to need anything more advanced than Clomid + IUI. [Cost of Treatment] Very reasonable. About $700 for an IUI cycle plus medications....When trying to conceive a second time, he [Dr. Berger] was with a bigger practice, not specializing in fertility, and I felt he did not do the testing I needed and was not especially attentive.

He was generally friendly, a bit of a god-complex maybe. The quality of care was MUCH higher when he had his own fertility practice. I got pregnant first try. When trying to conceive a second time, he was with a bigger practice, not specializing in fertility, and I felt he did not do the testing I needed and was not especially attentive. Also---No weekend hours!!!

Excellent at his first practice, pretty shoddy at his second practice.

He [Dr. Nathan Berger] really helped us to understand how donor eggs could work for us. However he was willing to try as many retrievals as I was willing to do with my own eggs. He explained that donor eggs would be a better and more successful route for us...He was also very honest without being cruel. He never gave up on us even when things were very dismal...He was usually late on my appointments but always worth the wait. He also has a great sense of humor to help in delicate situations.
It cost about $16,000 to use donor eggs [at MedStar Health]...I think a more clear eXplanation of cost and what exactly is covered through insurance and what needs to be paid out of pocket. This was confusing for us...He was usually late on my appointments but always worth the wait. He [Dr. Nathan Berger] also has a great sense of humor to help in delicate situations. Be patient with him on being late. He also gives you the same amount of time. Not rushed appointments.

It cost about $16,000 to use donor eggs. Once we end that route insurance did not cover anything.
