This is the most recent data from the CDC. The CDC cautions that it should not be used to compare doctors and clinics. This data represents the outcomes of IVF cycles when using a person's own eggs.
For more information please see our FAQs.
Where you see a “?” on the chart, a clinic has done fewer than 20 cycles in this category and age range, so the CDC says showing percentages from this small data set would be misleading and unreliable.
I always felt he [Dr. Mark Amols] was very friendly! He showed compassion and was always personable. He was willing to try a different protocol when our first retrieval resulted in zero embryos. He also helpful in suggesting supplements...I had the antagonist protocol for my first cycle. For my second cycle we added in letrozole to the antagonist cycle since we knew I responded well to it...
Both doctors [at New Direction Fertility Centers] are compassionate and friendly...it can take a long time to wait between egg retrieval cycles! The wait list is long and big. The communication is not their strength....I do wish we had an assigned one [nurse] as I feel it would be more personable, however, at the appointments they always were friendly and smiled....

Describe your experience with New Direction Fertility Centers.
Strengths: low costs! Both doctors are compassionate and friendly.
Weaknesses: it can take a long time to wait between egg retrieval cycles! The wait list is long and big. The communication is not their strength, however, I feel that it’s also not awful. There are some things they can work on, but it could have been way worse. We always had great communication minus I had my AMH done twice and never received the results from the first one and didn’t know I had it done and wish I was told so I wouldn’t have done the second one and paid for it.
Describe the costs associated with your care under Mark Amols at New Direction Fertility Centers.
We spent $27,000 for three IUIs and two egg retrieval cycles. The first round we had to embryos done we did not have to do PGS testing, however, we did PGS testing the second round and this is included in the costs.
Describe Mark Amols's approach to eSET (elective single embryo transfer) vs. multiple embryo transfer at New Direction Fertility Centers.
It really was our decision but he had noted in our consult the less risks if a single transfer vs a multiple embryo transfer.

Describe the specific things that went wrong at New Direction Fertility Centers.
I had my amh done twice because I never realized I had it done the first time. I also was given conflicting information on when to take my cetrotide during my second cycle (the doctor told me at the appointment to take it when I got home and then on Klara they said the next day).
Dr. Amols know my husband and I by name...always greets us with a smile and asks us personal questions about our day-to-day lives. He and his wife have also experienced infertility so he is extra empathetic...tries different protocols if the prior one didn't work...does talk very fast and sometimes doesn't answer all questions because he is so busy...did two cycles and we used the same drugs but doubled the dosages. I got double the number of eggs by doubling the meds...
There are so many nurses answering your questions via text, that more than once I've been told two different things. Also, I have been told inaccurate information. Overall though, they are the glue holding the busy clinic [New Direction Fertility Centers] together...Some strengths include, they are all professional, knowledgeable, friendly, caring, quick responses via their text system. Some weaknesses include, miscommunication, hard to get a hold of by phone, not great about knowing the cost of procedures and some billing inaccuracies, also not knowing when payments of procedures are collected or not at appointments.

Dr. Amols know my husband and I by name, as well as all of his patients. We have been under his care since 2017. He always greets us with a smile and asks us personal questions about our day-to-day lives. He and his wife have also experienced infertility so he is extra empathetic to his patients and goes above and beyond. He will even personally call you if there is an issue and he is always available after hours. Once he even answered our call after midnight (I didn't know that by calling the emergency line it would go directly to his cell phone! Regardless, he was so helpful and not upset at all.)
Describe the protocols Mark Amols used in your cycles at New Direction Fertility Centers and their degree of success.
Ugh...I have been on this joinery with him since 2017. I have done 5 IUI's, 4 of which were medicated. We used Femara, Gonal F, Centrotide, and Pregnyl. With IVF, we used Gonal F, Menopur, and Centrotide. I don't remember the dosage. I did two cycles and we used the same drugs but doubled the dosages. I got double the number of eggs by doubling the meds.

We have written prove from Susan in Billing that we were not having to pay for the expensive PGS testing. When I got to my appointment Dr. Amols informed me that Susan misted me the wrong information and now we are indeed responsible for $2000 worth of testing that Susan told us was waived.
Don't be afraid to ask questions. He [Dr. Mark Amols] is more than happy to answer them...Instead of Novarel trigger shot it was changed to a lupron trigger shot (to prevent ohss) And an antibiotic ICIS, PGS, frozen day 5 Embryos...He has a great podcast you can listen to about his opinion on the real risks [of Eset]...I could tell he truly cared about my individual care. I was a tough one but he paid close attention to me and was familiar with my history....was my 3rd RE and I had the best experience. I was treated like an individual. He cared about my individual needs and gave me extra attention. He followed my lead and made sure I was comfortable with everything before moving to the next step. During the ivf process I was at a higher risk of developing OHSS so I was monitored every day and meds were adjusted and even with 67 follicles I didn't go into OHSS. He is just the best.

Dr. Salem was present and led all my appointments (12+) except for one...very compassionate and gives informed, rational, and direct advice...strongly urged us to transfer only one embryo...always remembered me and my husband and the details of our previous appointments...He's a nice guy and fun to talk to
[New Direction Fertility Centers] is very busy, but I felt that most times I was seen in a timely manner. I usually saw my doctor on time, but sometimes had to wait for blood work...I did not have much interaction in person with nurses. During the egg retreival process they communicated any feedback related to dosage changes of medications through online messages
How was your experience with Wael Salem at New Direction Fertility Centers?
Dr. Salem is a wonderful doctor. I would highly recommend him, if you are looking for a partner in your fertility journey. He is very compassionate and gives informed, rational, and direct advice. At 36 my husband and I started our conception journey. After a year, we sought diagnosis for infertility and were told that it would be almost impossible to conceive naturally. I was recommended to New Direction Fertility Center by a gal in the women's bathroom of a restaurant while I was gabbing with my girlfriend about having to seek fertility treatment. A random stranger shared her journey and urged me to try New Direction--they work miracles. At the time, I think Dr. Salem was new to the practice. I have to believe that fate brought us there at that time and to him to facilitate our fertility journey. Fertility treatment isn't easy, it requires a lot of patience and trust in the process. I am grateful that my journey felt relatively short. I was pregnant with a viable pregnancy within 6 months of starting treatment. I am now 21 weeks pregnant with a healthy baby girl and we hope to greet her in March 2025. I'm sincerely grateful to Dr. Salem for his support and guidance. Also, He's a nice guy and fun to talk to. :) I hope when we are ready for our second, we can share the experience with him again. If you feel or know there is something delaying natural conception, I would highly suggest you seek fertility treatment at New Direction with Dr. Salem.
What's one piece of advice would you give a prospective patient of Wael Salem at New Direction Fertility Centers?
I think this is more advice for anyone starting thier infertility journey. I think it is best to be realistic about how much time, money, and energy you are willing to put in for the desired results. Likely many people are starting out not having a good idea of how many points along the journey that things can go unexpectedly--both positively and negatively. Be kind to yourself and know that you are doing the best you can and there are a lot of things you can't control.
During treatment, were you treated like a number or a human with Wael Salem at New Direction Fertility Centers?
Dr. Salem was present and led all my appointments (12+) except for one. He always remembered me and my husband and the details of our previous appointments. After our first embryo transfer ended in a chemical pregnancy, he reached out to schedule a follow-up to debrief and discuss the path moving forward.
Describe your experience with the nursing staff at New Direction Fertility Centers.
I did not have much interaction in person with nurses. During the egg retreival process they communicated any feedback related to dosage changes of medications through online messages. Post egg retrieval and fertilization there was a lead nurse who communicated results of embryo development and PGT testing. She was the same nurse who communicated results of embryo transfer and pregnancy tests.

The clinic is very busy, but I felt that most times I was seen in a timely manner. I usually saw my doctor on time, but sometimes had to wait for blood work. I don't have any complaints about the clinic itself.
Describe Wael Salem's approach to eSET (elective single embryo transfer) vs. multiple embryo transfer at New Direction Fertility Centers.
My age at embryo transfer was 37/38. Dr. Salem strongly urged us to transfer only one embryo. He communicated the risks associated with advanced maternal age and multiple births. We were agreed that the risks were not justified in our case and it was best to move forward with single embryo transfer only.
Going through this journey is emotional and my husband and I feel a sense of comfort with him [Dr. Mark Amols] as our doctor...We did two rounds of medicated IUI with injections. I have unexplained infertility and we were trying to do the less invasive approach while still giving my body the best opportunity...Even though we have not gotten pregnant (yet!), I fully trust him as my doctor...
Something I love about the clinic [New Direction Fertility Centers] is that they use a communication tool that allows us to text them with any questions or concerns without having the call. Everyone is super nice and welcoming and you definitely feel taken care of...The nursing staff worked incredibly hard and always went the extra mile for my husband and I...$750 per IUI... two rounds of medicated IUI with injections. I have unexplained infertility and we were trying to do the less invasive approach while still giving my body the best opportunity.
