This is the most recent data from the CDC. The CDC cautions that it should not be used to compare doctors and clinics. This data represents the outcomes of IVF cycles when using a person's own eggs.
For more information please see our FAQs.
Where you see a “?” on the chart, a clinic has done fewer than 20 cycles in this category and age range, so the CDC says showing percentages from this small data set would be misleading and unreliable.
From the first time we met Dr. Robin she greeted us with hugs and smiles. She broke down all the steps for our personal journey and was always there to answer questions.... Dr. Robin was amazing. She was so knowledgeable. She explained everything using statistics and drawings. She was always smiling and begin and ended with a hug. I always felt so comfortable with her! When my first transfer failed she said it was her mission for me to get pregnanat the next time.

$340 for each IUI which included sperm washing. My insurance covered ultrasounds and visits with a co-pay...Very caring and personal treatment!...Someone else's test results were once mistakenly provided to me, for an infection I did not have for a test they never performed on me. They figured out what happened in the mix up and apologized....I ovulate naturally, so we did natural IUI's. Once I tested positive for ovulation, using an at home test, we scheduled an IUI for 24 hours later. I was given intralipid infusions to prevent my immune system from rejecting implantation and pregnancy.

I felt there IUI treatment were very costly (over$2000) vs other fertility clinics. We paid out of pocket and you only got $300 off if you paid in full before the treatment began. Also they refused to bill insurance for routine labs correctly and only used infertility code which I explained won't work so I accrued over $1200 in routine lab work.

I just felt I wasted a lot of time on fertility treatment because I still to this date haven't been fully worked up which I was told would be done. I am getting old to where I am scared now I won't be able to have children because of the lost time.
Dr Robin was very kind and honest. Very compassionate and caring. Dr Robin took the time to explain everything to me. Good and bad - chances of success and all the ends and outs of the procedures I would be going through...make an appointment. Get your questions answered. Sooner is better than later. So, you are able to make an informed decision. And, get treatment started younger or sooner rather than later or older— Or, at least, you have a plan or know your options— whether, your decision is to more forward or not with anything. At least, you will not regret waiting too long. Information is power.
I loved the [New Hope Center for Reproductive Medicine] Clinic / Office. I thought, they were great. This was my first and only experience with anything like this — I can not think of anything that would improve the quality of the experience for me. The entire office was great...I love Dr Robin, Her Nurses, Support Staff , Front Desk , the entire staff was fantastic to me...The Nurses answered all my questions and repeated and reviewed instructions for me and with me — if I needed them to repeat and review. Which, I often did.

Although I knew ivF was my only option, she [Dr. Poe-Zeigler] was pushing for several procedures I felt weren’t necessary. I went to two different doctors who agreed su procedures were unnecessary. Her recomendaciones would have added several thousands to an already high quote they gave us. ... There was no follow up, the first appointment was so nice but just to send me to financial department. No review or tests taken, only the expensive ones they can do at the place. ... Nothing was discussed specifically, but just an overview of iVF.
Horrible customer service. ... They won’t acknowledge you once you walk in or at any point during you wait, but they are quick to demand payment and rush you thru any other process. Very disappointing staff, for how expensive they are, they should be more compassionate and caring ... They were really rude and unable to follow up with simple requests. The lady who made the ultrasounds was so u profesional, she will discuss other people’s matters while with you, and have to consideration for what needed to be done, very abrupt and cold. Main reasons i went to another clinic.

Overall, it’s like I was going there and letting them run tests after tests which they were billing quickly. Some tests were done more thanks once, some of they extremely expensive, I feel they knew I was not certain about doing the ivF with them.
So they took advantage and drained my insurance as much as they could.

Dr. Robin is absolutely amazing. We knew exactly what to expect at every stage of the process. We were always treated as people and not just numbers. The doctor spent as much time as needed making us comfortable and knowledgeable about what we were going through.... The only real downside about the clinic [New Hope Center] is its location. We live in Hampton, so we ended up logging a LOT of miles driving to and from Virginia Beach over the course of our treatments, but it was totally worth it.... It was around $18,000 for our IVF cycle because our insurance did not cover fertility treatments.

Leah, Lauren, along with all of the other nursing staff always took the extra time to explain all medications, procedures, and expectations. I never felt rushed when I had my appointment with them in the clinic. They always answered our questions with clarity and made sure we understood everything before we left. They are always very happy and excited to see us, and make us feel welcome on our IVF journey.
Describe your experience with CCRM Fertility of Virginia Beach.
My clinic's strengths are that my appointments are always on time, they are very accommodating to my schedule changes if I have a problem at work, and they are always responsive when I call.
My clinic's weaknesses is not a lot, I would only say that insurance coverage can be somewhat limited.

Describe Robin Poe-Zeigler (retired)'s approach to eSET (elective single embryo transfer) vs. multiple embryo transfer at CCRM Fertility of Virginia Beach.
Dr. Robin is a very warm, approachable...uterine polyps...gives her personal cell phone number to all of her patients...incredibly hard working, compassionate, and professional....is very cutting edge and pays close attention to new studies within the fertility space...listened carefully and suggested some additional testing to be safe...I'm now going to have a son
Love the nursing staff at New Hope [Center for Reproductive Medicine (CCRM Network Clinic)]...work harder than any clinic I've ever been to...were always on call and would answer questions over the weekend...When I finally got a positive pregnancy test, the whole staff came into the lab to congratulate me and give me a hug
How was your experience with Robin Poe-Zeigler (retired) at CCRM Fertility of Virginia Beach?
I think I touched on most points in my last prompt, but can elaborate. Dr. Robin restored my faith in the healthcare system in so many ways. She is incredibly hard working, compassionate, and professional. Dr. Robin would always clearly explain my diagnosis to me, and had a way of doing so gently and kindly. I always felt like I was in safe hands with Dr. Robin and that she had my best interest at heart. Speaking to friends at other clinics across the country, it became clear to me early on that Dr. Robin is very cutting edge and pays close attention to new studies within the fertility space. She would run new testing (like the natural killer cells blood test,) that I know many clinics still don't. When I expressed concern that I may have an autoimmune issue, Dr. Robin listened carefully and suggested some additional testing to be safe. I think many doctors would have shrugged this off, which I've had happen with previous OB/GYNs. Dr. Robin always runs PGTA genetic testing for her IVF patients, which I also learned is rare, even though PGTA is cutting edge and apparently much more thorough than other forms of genetic testing. Dr. Robin is also incredibly thorough, and I always felt like there was no stone unturned when it came to my diagnosis. She made a point to run another HSG test on me prior to IVF to make sure my polyps hadn't grown back. They had in fact grown back within two months, so it was imperative that she run that test prior to treatments. I know many doctors wouldn't have done that, and I have a friend who went through an entire IVF cycle with polyps because her doctor hadn't treated and tested prior (they had grown back after surgery as well). As I mentioned, Dr. Robin gives her personal cell number to all her patients, which is a truly incredible way to bridge the trust between patient and provider in a way I've never, ever experienced before. In more ways than one, Dr. Robin changed my life.
What's one piece of advice would you give a prospective patient of Robin Poe-Zeigler (retired) at CCRM Fertility of Virginia Beach?
A piece of advice I'd give to a new patient is this: remember that Dr. Robin is a one woman show at New Hope. I've heard her staff describe New Hope Reproductive Center as the "mom and pop shop" of fertility clinics. It's small, but it is beloved. It's also incredibly busy. So while Dr. Robin goes out of her way to be accessible to her patients, make sure you're surrounding yourself with an additional support system. You'll need people outside of Dr. Robin that you can go to for questions, moral support, etc. Dr. Robin will always respond to your inquiries, but you may not get as much face time with her as you'd like.
During treatment, were you treated like a number or a human with Robin Poe-Zeigler (retired) at CCRM Fertility of Virginia Beach?
Dr. Robin is a very warm, approachable person. She would always greet me with a smile, and even though I know she is booked back-to-back each day, she'd always stop to say hi and give me a hug if she saw me in the halls at the clinic. Dr. Robin would always cut to the chase when explaining my diagnosis, but she had a way of doing so gently, and always remained positive and encouraging. She also gives her personal cell phone number to all of her patients, so I was able to reach out to her any time with questions. I tried not to abuse this privilege, but I'm still blown away that a doctor would offer this to what must be hundreds of patients on a given cycle. My husband is in the military so was gone for almost all of my fertility treatments, including an entire IVF cycle from start to finish. On the day of my embryo transfer, Dr. Robin took my hand and said "we did great, just us gals!" I'm now going to have a son, and I will always remind him that it was powerful, superhuman women that brought him into this world.
Describe the protocols Robin Poe-Zeigler (retired) used in your cycles at CCRM Fertility of Virginia Beach and their degree of success.
Covered some of this in my previous post as well, but can share additional details. My diagnosis was uterine polyps, and we learned from my IUIs that I had very fast acting ovaries. My IUI cycles didn't work because my eggs were responding to the femara too quickly. I would have 1-2 mature eggs develop on day 3 of a cycle, leaving the other eggs behind. As a result, the IUIs were not a good fit for me. As a result, during IVF Dr. Robin put me on metformin early on to slow down the growth of my eggs. This helped balance out my ovaries and caused my eggs to grow in a more balanced way at the same time. As I mentioned, Dr. Robin also kept a close eye on my polyps and made sure to remove them again prior to IVF. I'd had them removed only 3 months prior as well, but they'd grown back. During IVF prior to my embryo transfer, I think I had a pretty standard balance of injections since my egg growth was finally under control.
Describe your experience with the nursing staff at CCRM Fertility of Virginia Beach.
Love the nursing staff at New Hope. They are just as caring and attentive as Dr. Robin. They also work harder than any clinic I've ever been to. But there's no complaining. Since the clinic is small, I got to know the entire nursing staff pretty quickly and we were all on our a first name basis. They were always on call and would answer questions over the weekend if you needed them. Whenever I asked a question in the patient portal I'd get a response within an hour. When I finally got a positive pregnancy test, the whole staff came into the lab to congratulate me and give me a hug. They all said "We take baby shower invites!" Once I have the baby, I'm planning on throwing a "thank you" party for the New Hope staff.
Describe your experience with CCRM Fertility of Virginia Beach.
The strengths speak for themselves at this point I think. The only weakness of the clinic is the turnover at the front desk. Being the executive assistant/patient coordinator at a fertility clinic is very difficult and requires more than many other EA jobs in the healthcare industry. There's a lot of knowledge about the fertility space that's required, and as many of us have learned, there are plenty of doctors that still don't understand infertility. Sometimes this can be a bummer when you've gotten close to someone at the front desk and they leave, or someone new comes in who isn't as pleasant. Otherwise, I give New Hope 10/10.
Describe the costs associated with your care under Robin Poe-Zeigler (retired) at CCRM Fertility of Virginia Beach.
IUIs cost $1,700 and IVF was $15,000 plus $5,000 for medications.
Describe Robin Poe-Zeigler (retired)'s approach to eSET (elective single embryo transfer) vs. multiple embryo transfer at CCRM Fertility of Virginia Beach.
Dr. Robin let me know that she typically prefers not to do multiple embryo transfers the first time, since twins can be higher risk. She suggested we do a single embryo transfer for my first one. I know with other patients she's worked with before she does multiple embryo transfers if they've had failed transfers in the past.
Dr. Robin and her office staff was amazing...was very invested in our journey to grow our family...was very responsive to our needs and communicated in a very timely manner...needed a hysteroscopy to get a better look and remove some polyps and clear the lining of the uterus...very successful egg retrieval...we ended up conceiving naturally that first month after the retrieval...She will take the time to answer and explain anything you ask. Don't be afraid to ask why or for her to clarify. She is more than happy to do so.
[New Hope Center for Reproductive Medicine (CCRM Network Clinic)] was very organized with our history and information. We felt like they really knew and understand our journey and what our hopes/goals were. They were always responsive, quick to respond, and quick to get us scheduled for appointments as needed...the nurses were thorough, compassionate, and helpful with any questions/concerns we had.
How was your experience with Robin Poe-Zeigler (retired) at CCRM Fertility of Virginia Beach?
My experience with Dr. Robin and her office staff was amazing. I felt so supported. Infertility is such a hard thing to go through and she made us feel like we are not going through it alone and that she was there for us (in many ways) throughout the whole process. She was very invested in our journey to grow our family. She was very responsive to our needs and communicated in a very timely manner. We could not be happier with our experience.

Describe the protocols Robin Poe-Zeigler (retired) used in your cycles at CCRM Fertility of Virginia Beach and their degree of success.
We tried a multitude of things during my treatments with Dr. Robin. After examination, it was determined I needed a hysteroscopy to get a better look and remove some polyps and clear the lining of the uterus. After this procedure, I was told this is good timing for pregnancy, so we tried some medications, timed intercourse, and IUI. None of which worked. We decided to move forward with IVF. This included injections to stimulate follicles and promote the release of eggs. I also took a multitude of vitamins to promote the quality of the eggs. One of which was CoQ-10. I was told this helps with the quality of the egg. We had a very successful egg retrieval but the timing was right when Covid was starting, so we decided to wait to transfer. However, I continued taking the vitamins - including the CoQ10, and we ended up conceiving naturally that first month after the retrieval. After our daughter turned 1 and we were ready to start trying again, I began taking CoQ10 again and we were able to get pregnant naturally again. I do not know if the CoQ10 had an impact on our ability to get pregnant, but I can't help but wonder if the effect on the quality of the eggs helped increase our change of conception.

For all procedures done with Dr. Robin, I estimate we paid 20-25,000
Dr. Poe-Zeigler is a fantastic doctor, but do not expect to see her very much during your treatment. You will see her for the consultation and then for any medical procedures. Describe the protocols Robin Poe-Zeigler (retired) used in your cycles at CCRM Fertility of Virginia Beach and their degree of success.
I have been through five IVF cycles with Dr. Poe-Zeigler. I don't remember all the names precisely, but they have consisted of an antagonist protocol, agonist protocol, Lupron protocol, and two "mini-stim" protocols. I have a low ovarian reserve. The only protocol that worked for me was the mini-stim. It has been successful once with a 3-day transfer. During the mini-stim I used the following medications: metformin, baby aspirin, letrozole, menopur, ganirelix, and Pregnyl. I was also on the following supplements: prenatal, royal bee jelly, maca root, and vitamin D.
Describe your experience with your nurse at CCRM Fertility of Virginia Beach. (Assigned nurse: Lauren Bonney)
My assigned nurse was patient with me. I always had a lot of questions, and she was very willing to take the time to reassure me. When I an issue, she had no problem contacting the overseeing doctor directly to find a solution. She would call me back right away if I needed to get ahold of her. I couldn't have asked for a better nurse. The only weakness I can think of would be that there was no follow-up after my IVF was not successful. For example, there was no email or phone call that said, "I'm sorry it didn't work. We tried our best." After building such a relationship with them, I just felt like I was left out in the middle of the ocean after I failed without a lifeline.
Describe your experience with CCRM Fertility of Virginia Beach.
NHC will bend over backward to squeeze you into their schedule. My commute to the clinic was farther than most, and they would never have a problem with rearranging my schedule, so it was convenient for me. I also work a full-time job, so getting away in the middle of the day was not easy. They're also prompt about answering questions and getting back to you. They have an on-call nurse for emergencies if you call after hours, which is nice. Describe the specific things that went wrong at CCRM Fertility of Virginia Beach.
There was one instance where I was expecting a phone call regarding pregnancy labs. They said they would have my results by the end of the day. I waited all day for a phone call, which was pretty stressful. I waited until the end of the day to call them, and then they called me back to let me know my results were negative. I understand the clinic is very busy, but these results were sensitive, and I was told I would be notified by the end of the day. I haven't had any other problems with the clinic.

I used medications from a different clinic and we had to adjust the dosing. But we did have to add a different trigger. I also appreciated the number of ultrasounds because retrieval was a stressful exciting time. We are currently in a fet cycle and the medications are similar to our first fet. We just finished birth control, and started 10cc of Lupron sub-cu and oral estradiol 2 mg. Soon I'll start

Describe Robin Poe-Zeigler (retired)'s approach to eSET (elective single embryo transfer) vs. multiple embryo transfer at CCRM Fertility of Virginia Beach.
I am a "geriatric" mother and the risk was explained
Dr. Robin made me feel heard every time I saw her. She seemed to genuinely want to make my dream of becoming a mother a reality and not just for her benefit. If I had any questions (and I had many) she really took her time to make sure I understood. I didn't get the results I wanted (due to poor quality eggs), but I do not regret seeking Dr. Robin's help...You won't see her very often, but she is so helpful when you do.
I think one of the [New Hope Center for Reproductive Medicine] clinic's biggest strengths is compassion. They see a lot of women come in here at their lowest and they seem genuine in the care they give. Success is their goal, but not just because of their numbers. I would say a weakness would be communication. It was sometimes hard to get an answer if you were not physically in the clinic, but I do know that they have very long and busy days.

I was diagnosed with low amh and male motility issues, so we decided to go the ivf route. My husband and I were put on several medications/supplements for 3 months, then proceeded with ivf. My injection doses were lowered during our cycle because I had one follicle growing way faster than the other. Egg retrieval procedure itself went well. 12 eggs retrieved, 6 mature, 2 fertilized, 1 embryo, 0 normal after testing. My eggs proved to be hard to inject, and were grainy. We are unsure if it is do to medication I already take daily. We are now taking more supplements for the next three months in hopes to try an iui next year since we cannot afford to do ivf again (no insurance coverage).
Describe your experience with the nursing staff at CCRM Fertility of Virginia Beach.
The nursing staff in general were really kind. The lab seemed to be somewhat unorganized (not always knowing what they needed to test for) but they were always very kind.

Treatments can get very costly for fertility treatments, but that is true for all clinics. Insurance does not cover a penny of my treatment so I had to get a loan for ivf. Unfortunately, I will be unable to do another round of treatment due to the high cost. Also, prices did just go up when New Hope merged with CCRM.

I had this procedure called ERA which stands for Endometrial Receptivity Analysis (ERA). If you google, this is a test done to evaluate a woman’s endometrial receptivity which is “how likely an embryo is to stick. The test is performed to help prevent implantation failure by identifying a woman’s unique and optimum “window of implantation.” After doing this, I had a successful pregnancy with frozen embryo transfer.

Clinic is very clean and environment is very welcoming. They even decorate for the holidays. At the reception, they have separate staff for greeting the patients and for answering phone inquiries, for scheduling the next visit, and for payments. They have different rooms for meeting for consultation with Dr. Robin, for ultrasounds and for the major procedures (transfers, egg retrievals, etc). Rooms are hygienic and comfort rooms are always clean.
Describe the costs associated with your care under Robin Poe-Zeigler (retired) at CCRM Fertility of Virginia Beach.
In IVF, eggretrieval, fertilization and transfer seems to be the most expensive at around 15k but it could be higher nowadays. When you already have the embryo, or 2nd time IVF, the procedure costs less at around 5k or 10k if you consider genetic testing as well. There are also storage costs involved costing around $50 per month and it might also depend on the type, if egg, sperm or embryo. We only stored embryos.
Describe Robin Poe-Zeigler (retired)'s approach to eSET (elective single embryo transfer) vs. multiple embryo transfer at CCRM Fertility of Virginia Beach.
Multiple embryo transfer did not work for me and I experienced of what seemed to be blighted ovum then I experienced miscarriage afterwards. Better rto have sisngle embryo transfer and have a successful pregnancy.
Dr. Robin is simply the best...is warm, friendly, really cared about my journey, was reassuring...is knowledgeable, experienced and caring...recommended that I first do a hysterescopy to check for polyps and clear the area of my uterus...transferred 2 embryos. Dr. Robin is a very great doctor! She is knowledgeable, experienced and caring. That to me is the greatest combination for me to have felt comfortable in this sensitive situation. Dr. Robin, in the time of Covid, realized the delicate situations, made recommendations for my needs, I followed her instructions and they worked! Just as she said they would! The first consultation was me trying to decide between her clinic and another one for treatment and upon meeting her i immediately knew that New Hope was it for me! I now have a beautiful baby boy because of the way God used this magnificent woman!! Dr. Robin, I just love you!!!

She recommended that I first do a hysterescopy to check for polyps and clear the area of my uterus. She recommended also the temp of one of my folopiam tubes that was blocked because she didn’t want fluid from it draining down during my pregnancy because it could cause a miscarriage. She stimulated my eggs with something to increase the growth of my eggs in my ovaries. Then there was the egg retrieval. My husband provided his sperm and they fertilized the eggs and we got 12 embryos! Because i developed OSS, my embryo transfer date was put off. Transfer later happened. I transferred 2 embryos. I was warned of the risks of multiple pregnancy. My pregnancy was successful on the first try and we were so excited!!

The clinic’s strengths are, getting back to you on time, friendliness, professionalism and their weakness, no good communication in the financial department. I experienced lots of unforeseen spending because of ineffective communication. I had the worst experience with the financial department but I was eventually compensated or given a waive for some fees and again that speaks to the compassionate nature of the team. So I’d recommend asking a lot of questions about the financing

They treated me during my OSS without telling me of the financial obligation. I asked the front desk clerk if I’m owing anything and she said no and then I received a bill. Dr. Robin advised me to delay my embryo transfer date due to me having OSS but didn’t tell me it would cost me an additional $3000 due to canceling.
