Dr. Meng pays close attention to her patients...Every time after the lab test, she would call me personally to adjust my medicine dosage. She performed the V ultrasound herself to closely monitor the follicle growth...She eases your anxiety and makes you feel in good hands...I initially told her that I have breast cancer history, so she ensured me that she will control my E2 level within the safe range during IVF. I didn't feel any discomfort during the process.
retrieved 10 eggs, 8 fertilized, 6 turned into blastocysts...the whole IVF cost is about 17k plus medicine...[the OC Fertility nurses] are very helpful and efficient. one tip, the patient portal can be wrong, so always listen to the doctor...The clinic doesn't look too big, after all, it is in Newport Beach. But it is very efficient, I never had to wait a long time in the waiting room
How was your experience with Fangyin Meng at OC Fertility® + OC Biogenix®?
Dr. Meng pays close attention to her patients. I had about 5 times V ultrasound and blood test before egg retrieval. Every time after the lab test, she would call me personally to adjust my medicine dosage. She performed the V ultrasound herself to closely monitor the follicle growth. I've never seen any doctor that is so diligent in Orange County area. She answered all my questions whenever I call her or text her on WeChat. I kept talking to her on daily basis, which really helped to ease my anxiety. She would even answer your silly questions that's out of her job scope. She is very generous with her time even though she has a busy schedule. She is special because she cares from the bottom of her heart, she always goes out of her way to help people. I'm 31, I retrieved 10 eggs, 8 fertilized, 6 turned into blastocysts. I'm happy with the result, I think it's largely due to her care and the embryo lab.
What's one piece of advice would you give a prospective patient of Fangyin Meng at OC Fertility® + OC Biogenix®?
Just trust her and ask her anything that would make you feel ease. I used WeChat to talk to her during the process for simple questions. You are welcome to do that, but of course respect her time as well. Also, try to change your diet to low-carb high protein, and exercise a lot before you start this whole journey, not only because that can help with egg quality, but also because you won't be able to exercise for almost a month.

I was first referred by a friend, she had a very good experience with Dr. Meng. So I went to her, and I had an amazing journey as well. Dr. Meng is very easy-going and gentle to her patients. She is extremely caring and loving to everyone. She eases your anxiety and makes you feel in good hands. She gives extensive care to everyone. I initially told her that I have breast cancer history, so she ensured me that she will control my E2 level within the safe range during IVF. I didn't feel any discomfort during the process.
Describe the protocols Fangyin Meng used in your cycles at OC Fertility® + OC Biogenix® and their degree of success.
Dr. Meng used Lezetrol to reduce my E2 level. I use menopur 75uint in the morning and ganol F at night, which changes from 100units to 200units. She would basically change my dosage after every lab test, which is almost every other day after day 4. I had my trigger shot on day 10. This varies a lot among patients. That's why you need a doctor that cares.

I remember AJ and Cathy, they are very helpful and efficient. one tip, the patient portal can be wrong, so always listen to the doctor.

The clinic doesn't look too big, after all, it is in Newport Beach. But it is very efficient, I never had to wait a long time in the waiting room. I tried to book consultation with the clinics, it would usually take a while. But Dr. Meng's clinic is easy to schedule appointments. There had been some mistakes, but nothing major.

the whole IVF cost is about 17k plus medicine.That includes doctors cost and embryo lab cost. which is about the same as other Orange County clinics. Dr. Meng also went out her way to help me to save money because I am a cancer patient. Embryo lab cost is about 12.5k, 10k if without PGT-A testing.

After failing other cycles she realized that their was an element of adenomyosis in therefore used the Lupron flare technique. She also did not recommend OCPs before since she did not want to suppress the ovaries (I am old) After a failed transfer she offered me platelet rich plasma therapy which though experimental had low downside.

We have only met with Dr. Moayeri via teleconference due to the current COVID-19 conditions. However, she took the time to review our prior medical information with us, offer suggestions of next steps and answer all of the questions we had regarding treatment...if one cycle of IUI is unsuccessful, she would recommend moving straight into IVF due to my husband and my ages.
I will say that the business office staff was great [at the OC Fertility clinic]. Since we are just in the consultation stage with her, it is hard to tell what this will look like. With my regular OBGYN we had previously completed three cycles of Clomid. Dr. Moayeri reviewed that information with us and noted that once we begin treatment, if one cycle of IUI is unsuccessful, she would recommend moving straight into IVF due to my husband and my ages.

OC Fertility has no weakness that I have come across yet. The clinic is very Clean, The Staff is very professional and if you give them the chance they will try there best to make your baby dreams come true...I think I spent around $50,000 for 3 cycles with all testing and meds...I love Molly [nurse at OC Fertility] she is so sweet she always returns my calls and emails and always puts my worries at ease.

My infertility journey started 4 years ago and has not been easy. I first found Dr Ghazal after I had an Unsuccessful IVF round and the Dr I was seeing had horrible bedside manners. He only cared about the money and nothing else that was when my coordinator told me to switch to Dr Ghazal when she was in Fullerton. I have had nothing but Success with Dr Ghazal she approached my IVF journey in a different way and she was successful twice and I now have a beautiful baby boy and 2 frozen embryos in storage. Dr. Moayeri is no-nonsense, but also has compassion and a good bedside manner. She explains things thoroughly all the time. There are times you may not understand them all, but it is important to ask questions in those times and she will answer...[she] always knew who we were, there was a doctor-patient relationship but you are at the clinic so much in a short period that she knows who you are.
The [OC Fertility] nursing staff is attentive and well-organized...Strengths are cleanliness and professionalism. Weaknesses are the billing process/department, responding to billing inquiries and sometimes you sat in the waiting room for a long time. Overall, we would use this clinic again...just be sure to be prepared to possibly have trouble with billing..

I would have liked a little bit more warmth and time to discuss the experience...wouldn't lean on her for bedside manner as a top strength...we got everything that we asked for - plenty of eggs, plenty of embryos, successful transfer.
I would have like more hand holding and support than I received [at OC Fertility]...we worked with a variety of staff, nurses each week...would have preferred to have a single point of contact for the duration of our experience...got drips of information from week to week without a full picture...Very nice and friendly staff, generally easy to set appointments especially once in cycle (note - long wait times).

Dr. Moayeri is excellent at her craft. She came highly recommended because of this excellence, and in one-shot, we got everything that we asked for - plenty of eggs, plenty of embryos, successful transfer. She is truly a top-notch doctor and fertility expert. She is clinical and straight-to-the-point. I wouldn't lean on her for bedside manner as a top strength, but for purpose of what we needed accomplished, she got the job done.
What's one piece of advice would you give a prospective patient of Sharon E. Moayeri at OC Fertility® + OC Biogenix®?
Have your questions ready at each appointment (write them down!)- by the time she does a quick scan, the appointment is over. While she doesn't intentionally rush, everything happens at a very quick clip so it's best to be prepared to better control the quick pace and insert yourself if you need more time and attention. I wish I had done this more and felt more actively involved in the process.

Dr. Moayeri is an excellent doctor - the time with her is extremely limited, most appointments about 1-2 minutes. I would have liked a little bit more warmth and time to discuss the experience rather than just take measurements.

We had a male factor problem, so we had to use ICSI protocol. It was a pretty standard protocol - 2 ovary stimulation medications (Menopur burned for a few seconds upon injection, Folistim didn't) for 10 days, then egg retrieval procedure, and then immediate embryo creation. Because we had a male factor as the primary problem, I responded very well to the medication and we had an abundance of eggs (20+) with over half fertilized.

Everyone is very kind and compassionate in the office - we worked with a variety of staff, nurses each week depending on our appointment day. I would have preferred to have a single point of contact for the duration of our experience. The office tried to move to digital communication with an app and online portal, but it was clunky at best. I felt like what I was really missing was an on-boarding appointment at the very beginning for a full hour explaining the entire experience and process. I felt like I got drips of information from week to week without a full picture. For someone who likes to understand and be involved, it felt isolating and disempowering. Again - all lovely people with good intentions, but the organization and client experience definitely needs improvement.

Very nice and friendly staff, generally easy to set appointments especially once in cycle (note - long wait times). The office is very nice, lots of windows, recently expanded. The surgery center for egg retrieval is pristine and exceptional staff. The weaknesses were what was already mentioned - no overarching picture of the entire experience. I would have liked a little bit more organization and a true patient coordinator that called me after procedures, checked in on me - I would have like more hand holding and support than I received.

The first part of the experience (egg retrieval) was approximately $18K - to be paid up front. Medications were another $5K. Nothing was covered by insurance and no monthly payment plans were offered. I had to have a hysteroscopy diagnostic procedure in the office (something that was required to proceed) and was changed an additional and unexpected $850. This didn't feel at all reasonable - we were never told in advance and the actual procedure was billed through insurance, so I didn't appreciate such a hefty out-of-pocket expense after the $18K. The second part of the experience (transfer) was approximately $5K with additional medication of $500.

I think the errors that occurred were a result of several people managing a single patient. Again, a single point of contact who proactively called each day and was "responsible" for that patient would have solved a lot of this. I would get calls with results from a different nurse than I saw that day, so they wouldn't be up to speed with what the doctor and I discussed, etc. Just extra frustration that wasn't necessary during such a sensitive and stressful time.

She’s very smart and informative. I did find her to answer all of my questions in great detail which I appreciated. There were only one times they forgot to give me the results of critical testing result which flipped our lives around. Distinctly no one told me my husbands blood test results until I asked and this was rigjt prior to one IUI process ( the second time) and caused us to later basically switch to ivf because time was burned. Am not sure if this was the error of the nurse or doctor but specifically the weeks following that were hell for us. The experience was not fun laying on the examination table and then because I asked by chance my husbands blood test results (because no one called me prior) that it changed the entire course of our approach for that exercise. Had I not asked we would have completed the IUI. I remember having so many questions and no one having answers for us. It was only until the next appointment with Dr Moeyeri which I was put more at ease with her explanation. That almost made us not want to continue treatment with anyone. We did however later go forward with ivf and that entire process with the doctor was great and good experiences. Looking back Dr. Sachdev is someone I’d definitely refer to any of my friends seeking a professional. She’s really good at what she does and very personable.

They were all very professional and informative. The clinic is very well run and I actually appreciated the need for cleanliness in there. I did witness one appointment dr moayeri chewing out a staff for accountability on cleaning cycles for a room. It was a little tense for me as I already have a lot on my mind about my own body and was in stirrups. But I understand as a manager and business owner how myself would feel of staff how that feels. I did through my ivf cycle have to be an eagle eye on my medical directives and had a couple times I contacted the office and the nurses had to correct whatever they put in the FET because it was incorrectly noting medication days or amount. That made me more on alert that their offices can make mistakes. I mean we are all human. Also my first time with progesterone injectable home, nobody showed me how to use the needles and I went home thinking I was supposed to follow the pharmacy website directives only to find it was to be done differently. I think the above examples were more the clinic Protocols rather than the doctors. The doctors are definitely top notch. I really like their organization overall and look forward to going back.

I mentioned it already in the earlier responses. No one told me my husbands blood test results until by chance I asked right before the procedure and thus stopped our in office iui procedure. They said I could go home and try but with what they knew at that point in time they ethically couldn’t move forward. Of course we weren’t going to try at home. That could have been avoided while I’m in office to suddenly all figure that out. Ended up being a non issue for me and husband but at that point it was burning another month away of potential treatment. We turned to immediately ivf after that because it was already months later. - A time I booked an appointment and when I came in the front desk said I was mistaken and it was the following day. I was certain I Did not being it was my first time there and got a reminder call prior for that appointment . During my first IVF cycle, the staff knew me by name, offered help often and were very supportive. It was hard to say goodbye and move on to my OBGYN once I had made it to 12 weeks pregnant. They have made me comfortable and, as a result, I have returned for 2 additional transfer attempts and now have decided to do another IVF cycle with OC Fertility.
Describe the protocols Sharon E. Moayeri used in your cycles at OC Fertility® + OC Biogenix® and their degree of success.
I believe my first IVF cycle, including the egg extraction and embryo transfer, was a "normal" protocol. Dr. Moayeri is conservative and recommends bed rest following the transfer for 3 days. The first transfer was successful and resulted in my daughter! When I returned for a second transfer, the protocol was very similar to the first, but it resulted in a negative pregnancy test. The third transfer cycle, which was for my last embryo, was altered to include Lupron and acupuncture. The third cycle resulted into a short pregnancy, but ultimately a miscarriage.

The nursing staff is great. I am always greeted by name when I come in and receive emails (which are often easier for me) and responses to my questions/ concerns quickly. We did ERA testing and took a bacterial swab which found I had ecoli in my uterus. I believe this is what caused my FET to fail. We treated the ecoli with penicillin and then started an anti inflammatory FET protocol with lurpon.

Don't be afraid to ask a lot of questions. Be prepared and have them written down so you don't get caught off guard forgetting important things you have on your mind. Be clear about your exceptions and always ask her to explain things if needed again as she is very obliging.

Dr. Moayeri was referred to us by Dr. Nezhat a surgeon at Stanford that performed my endometriosis surgery so we knew we were in good hands. She always welcomed us in a calm and good mood which made each visit relaxing as could be. She answered our questions and took the time needed to make us feel comfortable no matter what the question was. Each procedure was handled with skill and compassion as well as follow up on how I was feeling. She appeared hopeful for us in terms of prognosis but has provided the facts and statistics of the reality of fertility issues. We are know in the process of seeing her again for our second embryo transfer and can't wait to see if this one will turn out as well as the last.

I would tell anyone going into fertility, to ask as many questions as possible and not to be afraid of answers. The more knowledge the better as it may be hard to hear but at the same time can reduce worry.

I was placed on a Lupron protocol to suppress endometriosis prior to the transfer and I will be placed on the same protocol this time around as it appear to be successful. I was also placed on Aygestin and Femara for several months in between egg retrieval and transfers as we were not ready as a couple at that time and need to suppress the endo growth as well.

Treena was very good at communication and following through with emails in response to concerns we had. She had a very warm and compassionate bedside manner. We were out of network for insurance so we did have to pay for all office visits which were costly, I believe it was $185 each appointment for weekly ultrasounds. The embryo transfer was somewhere around $3800 not including medications which were ordered from an outside pharmacy, I believe about $1000. I honestly can't remember the costs of the egg retrievals but we did have two of them. We about abut to start the process for the send embryo transfer, hoping for baby number two. All and all, we have obviously spent thousands and thousands of dollars on IVF as well as surgeries to prepare us for this, as our insurance did not cover these benefits either.

When we first started we wanted to use my spouses extracted sperm though he had a previous vasectomy. Dr Moayeri was recommended by my husband's urologist. They worked well together and there was a high sperm count. Due to my age Dr Moayeri suggested we do an egg retrieval as our best chance. Unfortunately none of the five (5) embryos were rated high enough for transplant. Next we decided that rather than do another retrieval we would try IUI, partly because of cost. Our first IUI was successful and we have a healthy daughter. Since then we have done 2 more IUIs with donor sperm both unsuccessful. We have also done another egg retrieval and fertilization with donor sperm. It resulted in only one viable embryo. Unfortunately the transplant was unsuccessful. We want more children and depending on funding will be attempting another treatment.

The nursing and office staff have been very good. The nursing staff, even though we have been assigned different contacts has been consistently high quality. The office staff is not as good as they have been in the past but still above average.

[Dr. Moayeri] first put me on birth control to try shrink the Cyst that was seen in my 1st ultrasound. When birth control did not help she had done a laparoscopy surgery on me to remove cyst and this is where she found stage 4 endometriosis. After surgery we did 1 IUI and it did not work so we went to IVF which also failed ending in a chemical pregnancy...dr was honest about my chances of being able to conceive. I did however sometimes feel rushed and I had many questions.
The clinics strengths [OC Fertility] is the Dr and nurse I had when I was treated. Now when I went back recently the staff has changed and I feel the employees there are not working well with patients. One of the hardest parts about going on a dr visit was the waiting time. I feel I had to call and ask for information myself.

During my first visit with Dr. Moayeri, before her office had run any testing, she basically told me that if I hadn't gotten pregnant on my own yet (after 6 months of trying to conceive) I probably never would. The testing I'd had prior to going into her office did not show any obvious issues. She kept saying that IUI was the "low tech option" and seemed to push pretty strongly for IVF even before my testing came back...She is very nice and clearly knows her stuff and always answered my questions, but I didn't feel like the care I was getting was very personalized to my situation.
The clinic [OC Fertility] is clearly very busy and it has a great reputation in the community. The actual space is very welcoming and I like that they do blood draws in house...They can also be a bit disorganized. I was asked multiple times to send over records they already had, had to request my own records multiple times for other doctors, had to pay to get copies of my own records, was overcharged for an appointment and given credit, rather than a refund, etc. Many of my test results never posted in the patient portal. I never really felt like a priority there.

I felt like the nurses, PAs, and staff were really great about remembering me and the specifics of my case. However, Dr. Moayeri didn't seem to remember me and often brought up issues I never had (irregular cycles, wanting to freeze eggs).

I did not undergo any treatments with Dr. Moayeri. I switched clinics to find someone I gelled with a little bit better, because I didn't feel like I got very straight answers from Dr. Moayeri on what the plan would be or why.

The nursing staff and PAs are the best thing about this clinic in my opinion. They're very kind, caring, and compassionate. They made me feel like a person rather than a number and took really great care of me through a difficult time. I honestly miss them now that I've switched clinics.

It was a little frustrating that there was a posted policy against bringing children into the clinic, but there were children there 75% of the time I was there (which really sucked when I was going in to have my levels checked after a loss). They can also be a bit disorganized. I was asked multiple times to send over records they already had, had to request my own records multiple times for other doctors, had to pay to get copies of my own records, was overcharged for an appointment and given credit, rather than a refund, etc. Many of my test results never posted in the patient portal. I never really felt like a priority there.

For example, I requested my own records and was given incomplete records even though they charged me to send them. They still haven't sent my file to the new clinic I'm working with even though I've sent multiple requests to do so in the 2 months I've been going there. The doctor frequently seemed to confuse me with another patient and told the nurse (in front of me) that I was probably just wrong about the date of my last menstrual period because I have such irregular cycles (I do not have irregular cycles and had been charting for a year by then and was 100% sure of the date of my last menstrual period) and probably wasn't actually having a miscarriage. Spoiler alert: I was not wrong and I was having a miscarriage. Not only did she imply I was lying/mistaken about my own body, but she gave me false hope that somehow my baby would be fine (my HCG was 30, the odds were not in my favor no matter how off my dates were).

We have not done any procedure with Dr. Moayeri yet, however, based on my test results we will be opting to do egg adoption. We are currently in the process of selecting an egg donor in order to start the procedure.

I was supposed be prescribed a different drug for the second cycle, however chlomid was accidentally prescribed again and was taken. The clinic did offer a small discount on that cycle.

She eased us in with IUI’s (which perhaps we needed to do just to be sure) but at my age (39) we probably should have just gone straight to IVF and saved thousands of dollars and the horrible side effects of chlomid. She was always easy to talk to and very kind in the appointments.

We did 2 IUI cycles both with chlomid. I cannot remember the doses. Neither cycle produced more than one egg and neither cycle resulted in pregnancy.

The nursing staff was caring, but they are very busy. At times I felt like I was telling the same story over to different people. It was also tricky to get a call back sometimes.

Clean and nice clinic. The front desk staff are good to deal with. The clinic always seemed very busy. Lots of people moving around. There were often significant wait times even just for a blood test.

The billing was done at each appointment, which made it difficult to keep track of. I would have preferred lump sum payments. I believe the IUI’s ended up being around $3,000 each.

I had a terrible reaction to chlomid on my first IUI cycle and it didn’t produce more than one egg. I was supposed be prescribed a different drug for the second cycle, however chlomid was accidentally prescribed again and was taken. The clinic did offer a small discount on that cycle.

I was started on aggressive hormone shots to produce as many mature eggs as possible. Which it did. I don’t recall the names of the medications. All along the way Dr. Moayeri was confident with my results and everything she pre determined was right on target. It was amazing!!! She suggested best to wait and use a frozen embryo transfer. In the meantime my body could relax and the embryos could be tested for the best possible outcome. Which it was.

Molly was fantastic. She assisted me with my IVF schedule and how to properly use the medications. Always helpful and kind. Never left the office not knowing what was required of me or what step was next. Always informed and present to answer any questions I had. And patient because I would ask several questions repeatedly and she was always ready to assist.

Everyone that works at this office is knowledgeable, friendly and ready to help. Sometimes when you’re going through such an emotional intense time on your fertility journey you can become nervous and impatient but this staff is always reassuring and gives you all the materials you need in a timely manner.

For a full round of IVF for the doctors appt, blood tests, medications, retrieval, lab fees etc...For the whole duration of treatment was about $20,000 that was including genetic testing... some fees differ depending on your treatment and results. The embryo transfer and all the appt, medications, blood tests and storage fees is around $5,000-8,000. Again this all depends on your personal treatment plan. These were roughly my charges.

Single embryo transfers is common unless due to a special circumstance of the couple multiples would be used if medically necessary. Everyone’s circumstance is different but for me and my circumstance she confidently proceeded with a single embryo transfer because that would be best for the health of me and my child.

There were occasions where i felt a little rushed in my actual appointments with [Dr. Sharon Moayeri], but I also understand that time was precious and I should of been more prepared sometimes with questions...If i could give a piece of advice it would be to, be a little more warm in the appointments. I know its hard because she sees so many patients and doesn't try to get involved but sometimes the news we receive is heartbreaking and very hard to take in the moment.
[OC Fertility] Weakness-rotating nursing staff and front desk sometimes had poor communication skills at relaying information. I also feel like sometimes I had to call and follow up on a lot of my blood test that left me on edge for the entire day or multiple days...The nursing staff was very kind and communicated well...$36,000 for 2 IUIs, and 1 full round of IVF...I felt like a human because I felt between Dr Moayeri, the other Dr's at the practice and the nurses I felt like they all cared.

If i could give a piece of advice it would be to, be a little more warm in the appointments. I know its hard because she sees so many patients and doesn't try to get involved but sometimes the news we receive is heartbreaking and very hard to take in the moment. (especially because we are mostly all on high doses of hormones)

I felt like a human because I felt between Dr Moayeri, the other Dr's at the practice and the nurses I felt like they all cared. Especially at the end when we had our transfer, positive pregnancy test and then losing the pregnancy they were very invested and I felt like they actually cared. The last couple appointments were hard for me emotionally and they always let me take my time and were their to talk and consule me.

For retrieval I was on Lupron, Follistim and Menopur. Trigger shot was Novarel. I responded very well to the protocols. We retrieved 42 eggs, 24 mature, 16 fertilized, 8 5-day embryos and 3 came back normal. For our FET i was on Lupron 20 mark , Birth control, Estrace 2 mg, 2 Vivelle patches (0.1mg) then reduced to 1. and 2ml each day of Progesterone.

The nursing staff was very kind and communicated well. Their were a couple time communication could of been better and I feel like there was not of rotating in the nursing staff.

Strengths-resources, I feel like OC fertility is on the forefront of the many options in the fertility world. I like that even though expense I was getting the best care and all the chances to start our family. She offered alternatives and clearly explained why she thought exploring other options could result successfully for us. We took her advice and was happily blessed with a successful and healthy set of embryos and 1 pregnancy/child so far. We look forward to another transfer with her.

I took all hormones necessary, estrogen, etc (dont remember them all) and never had any bad side effects. I felt all dosages were appropriate for me and my experience was positive.

I usually dealt with the same too nurses. They were very knowledgeable, compassionate, understanding, available when needed and accommodating. I was always happy to be treated by the doctors staff when she wasnt available and had no problem with that.

She took extra care and time to answer all of my questions and ensure I felt good about all the details of the egg retrieval process. Her compassion for her patients and individual attention is excellent especially with the number of patients she sees.
OC Fertility is a very busy office. It may take months to get an appointment. Be patient, it is worth the wait. The office is clean and peaceful. Once you get an appointment you will feel the individualized attention and will not feel rushed through the process...[nurses at OC Fertility] Knowledgeable and kind. Very aware of the process and steps and reduced any anxieties I had.
