Attention to Detail

Attention to detail is on a 1 - 10 scale, and is scored based on the rate, and severity, of errors committed by the clinic according to the patients.

For example, a severe error might be failing to inform a patient of critical information, while a small error might be failing to call a patient with results.

CDC Success Rates

This is the most recent data from the CDC. The CDC cautions that it should not be used to compare doctors and clinics. This data represents the outcomes of IVF cycles when using a person's own eggs.

For more information please see our FAQs.

Where you see a “?” on the chart, a clinic has done fewer than 20 cycles in this category and age range, so the CDC says showing percentages from this small data set would be misleading and unreliable.

He [Dr. Williams] was nice and explained things fairly well during our consultation. I had pretty high hopes with our chances of getting pregnant with just the IUI, but it didn't work. I just feel like after the last IUI that he could have communicated and asked how we were or what our next step could be.... I always had to call them [Ohio Reproductive Medicine - Columbus]. And after i did my last IUI, I never heard another word.
They [Ohio Reproductive Medicine - Columbus] were all pretty nice but it seemed like they cared about the payment more than the patient. As soon as you walked in the receptionist was asked for payment and didnt really seem to care how you were doing. The environment isn't very inviting either, they would make it a little more cozy in there....I can't remember the one nurse's name but she was very rude when I called to ask a question.
How was your experience with Steven Williams (retired) at Ohio Reproductive Medicine (Boston IVF Network clinic)?

He [Dr. Friedman] was very personal a d bedside manner was exceptional ... Kind. Compassionate. Delicate and truthful. Trustworthy. Explain led everything in a way we could understand. 1 IVF, 1 FET, 1 IVF suspended after egg retrieval as my progesterone was too high so I'm in the middle of my 2nd FET cycle. I used follistem rather then Gonal for insurance purposes. I had to use Gonal for my last cycle. I liked follistem better as the Gonal took longer and was way more expensive.

He [Dr. Williams] is honest and to the point. He lacks some social skills but he is kind and genuine. And is really good at his job and gets the job done quickly, efficiently and effectively. He allowed us to guide treatment, we did IUI 2x and he wanted to do it a 3rd time but we asked to move forward with IVF and he agreed.... He knew our story and was straightforward, blunt but kind whenever he delivered any news good or difficult.
Sitting in the waiting room is like therapy [Ohio Reproductive Medicine], you don’t have to talk to anyone to know that there are tons of people going through the same exact thing as you. It was welcoming, comfortable, not overdone.... They were so kind and sent from above. They guided treatment and coached me through they were so wonderful.... Dr londra was warm and caring, she wanted to help my wife and i conceive a child... Dr londra was extremely knowledgeable and caring, she made sure we knew what was happening every step of the way. She was positive with us but, honest. On our first two unsuccessful tries she provided kind words and motivation to keep us trying. Now we have a beautiful 6 month old boy. We are so thankful for her services
This facility [Ohio Reproductive Medicine] took a scary, unknown experience for us and made us feel comfortable, and gave us the skills and knowledge to create an amazing life. We are so incredibly grateful for their services and our experience there.... My insurance covered everything but the cost of the insemination and the donor specimen... He [Dr. Schmidt] is just a wonderful doctor! I only wish I could deal with just him, but I completely understand why that's not feasible...He seems to be pretty invested in my success. He always makes me feel like he cares and is pulling for me.
My beta HCG test indicated a looming miscarriage, and the clinic [Ohio Reproductive Medicine] called the wrong number by mistake. So I found out on the website. BUT they were appropriately horrified by the mistake. [Monitoring appointments are] quick and easy, which is wonderful as I'm driving an hour each way while trying to make it to work on time

[Dr. Grant Schmidt] was very compassionate and explained everything to my husband and I. He listened to me...answered every question I had for him, which was a lot. Whenever I did a procedure, he talked me through it...I felt like a human because I did not feel rushed...The only negative is that he might be too laid back. Sometimes I need a doctor to tell me exactly what I should do instead of letting me choose.
The nursing staff [at Ohio Reproductive Medicine] was awesome. They were very patient and answered all of our questions. Describe the costs associated with your care under Grant Schmidt at Ohio Reproductive Medicine (Boston IVF Network clinic).
The biggest expense is the medicine. The IUI’s seemed manageable money wise, but it depended on how much medication you needed during a cycle. Some cycles needed more than others. When I had my IVF consultation, I was not surprised by the cost, but I do think that it is a lot of money and why should any woman not be able to have a baby because of cost? I believe it was around $12,000 an IVF cycle.

Success w/ Doc Too early to know
Dr Kennard has been very thorough...taken time to review my past medical history before meeting us for the first time...willing to order bloodwork and an MRI that another doctor would not, in an attempt to determine the cause of my infertility...we immediately felt validated and heard
[Ohio Reproductive Medicine is] a beautiful, new clinic that has welcoming staff from the minute you walk through the door. My husband and I both felt that we were cared for as patients, not just a numbers....availability of a lab on site makes it easy to get needed bloodwork without going to another facility.

What's one piece of advice would you give a prospective patient of Elizabeth Kennard at Ohio Reproductive Medicine (Boston IVF Network clinic)?
Have questions ready to ask for your visits. Dr Kennard was able to quickly answer our questions and we left our appointment feeling we had a better understanding of my infertility issues.
During treatment, were you treated like a number or a human with Elizabeth Kennard at Ohio Reproductive Medicine (Boston IVF Network clinic)?
After years of feeling that doctor’s were not listening to our concerns and gave us no hope to have a family on our own, we immediately felt validated and heard by Dr. Kennard. She was willing to work to determine the root cause of my health issues and formulate a treatment plan. We’re excited to begin our IVF journey and feel confident that we’re in good hands with Dr. Kennard.
Describe your experience with your nurse at Ohio Reproductive Medicine (Boston IVF Network clinic). (Assigned nurse: Sydney)
Sydney has been an excellent communicator, always getting back to me in a timely manner. She’s organized and does well guiding us through this sometimes confusing journey.
Describe your experience with Ohio Reproductive Medicine (Boston IVF Network clinic).
It’s a beautiful, new clinic that has welcoming staff from the minute you walk through the door. My husband and I both felt that we were cared for as patients, not just a numbers. The availability of a lab on site makes it easy to get needed bloodwork without going to another facility.
Describe the costs associated with your care under Elizabeth Kennard at Ohio Reproductive Medicine (Boston IVF Network clinic).
Our treatment plan for our IVF cycle was $11,300, not including medication.

[Dr. Grant Schmidt] was always willing to listen to what I had to say during our first consult. He never shrugged me off like the rest of the doctors I saw. He was willing to try new things before we move onto IVF. I just love that I can trust him and he is just willing to help me...He started me off with the gonal f pen 75 iu's every night for at least 7 days. I was then to do a trigger shot and my first round I did timed intercourse. After that, we did 200 mg of progesterone and 80 mg of aspirin every day for 14 days
The clinic [at Ohio Reproductive Medicine] is in a great location in Columbus. It was hard to find at first but once you know the building, it is easy to get there. I do wish there were more signs though to show you where to go. The waiting room is very relaxing with the tv, fireplace and a coffee maker...[nurses] have all been amazing. I love the lab techs and the ultrasound tech Clarissa. She always took her time during the ultrasound to explain everything and if I had any questions, she would answer them. The nurse's have been so sweet and nice. Every time they would call and I asked any questions, they never hesitated to answer them.

she [Dr. Brooke Rossi] was really nice and wanted to know everything leading up to our IVF appointment from me and my husband. She was very patient with us telling her our backstory and from there she started going over everything in our plans moving further. I am a super emotional person so I did break down a couple times on her & she was very understanding which made me feel really comfortable. I'm anxious to get back into her to proceed with our next steps!

Dr. Rossi was amazing. Our previous experience as an LGBTQ couple was unpleasant with another doctor. She was direct and explained all aspects of this process. She prepared us for each step. Evaluated all the items we had tried previously to determine the possible cause of our difficulties and what options we have...to the point with the medical evaluation but was none judgemental and supportive. Answered all of our questions. Made us feel welcomed and like she cared about our goals for a healthy baby.
They [nursing staff at Ohio Reproductive Medicine] have done a great job with explaining test results and what needs to happen next and when. For us it's a 45 minute drive to each appt. But overall welcoming staff has made this worth thar drive for treatment. Bloodwork or items that they could allow to be done at a local facility they provided accommodations to help limit our travel.

Expensive but not the worst. Initial visit $245 HSH $500 IUI $500 This does not include medications, ultrasounds, follow us. None of which were covered by my insurance.

[Dr. Elizabeth Kennard] has an amazing team around her that helps you every step of the way. Don’t get discouraged when there are hiccups that prolong the process. I feel like there could be more information shared about the donor egg process and correct costs associated with it...I felt like my treatment plan was geared to me, and did not feel rushed
Strengths [of Ohio Reproductive Medicine] are they are expirenced and know what they are doing. You can be confident in their decisions for your treatments. Weakness is that it can sometimes be hard to get ahold of someone without leaving a message and waiting on a call back. The billing system could be more accessible for patients...We had to do a second semen analysis because they did not freeze it as needed

She [Dr. Rossi] always takes the time to talk and throughly answer questions even if it means going over my designated time. Dr. Londra is a no nonsense doctor. To some, I’m sure she comes across as cold. To me, I appreciate her blunt and direct approach. Describe your experience with Ohio Reproductive Medicine (Boston IVF Network clinic).
The clinic is really nice over all. It’s clean and well kept. It is a ton bigger than you’re anticipating as well. Another benefit is, if you need storage for a month or less, you have the option to use the storage center connected to the building for your sperm.

She [Dr. Laura Londra] does a great job of explaining procedures before and while they are happening. All of my questions get answered...She was warm and compassionate from the moment we met her. All of my questions got answered, and she is very understanding of our situation. We feel like we are in good hands and are hopeful that we can start our family soon...We are dealing with male factor infertility, so our current status is to do make sure my fertility is okay to proceed with ICSI.
Single embryo transfer was recommended [by Ohio Reproductive Medicine] to increase chances of one healthy pregnancy...Overall a pleasant experience so far. The hold time to get on the phone to schedule an appointment can be a little long, but that is because they spend a good amount of time to schedule the initial visit and answer any questions you have at that time, so the wait is worth the compassionate care you get from the start!

I always felt comforted and just better after leaving the office. Dr. Schmidt always have me a plan and knowing what to do next made me feel SO much better! The clinic [Ohio Reproductive Medicine] ran really smoothly. I normal OBGYN always makes me wait like 20-60 minutes to see my doctor. At this office I was always seen by Dr. Schmidt within 10-15 minutes of my appointment. Everything ran so smoothly!...The nursing staff was so nice. While Dr.Schmidt would prescribe treatment, the nurses are the ones who really explained to me what exactly I’d be doing. (To be clear Dr. Schmidt would also tell me, but the nurses would double check I knew what to do).

I only had IUI, so my costs weren’t very high. I did IUI two times, and I think it was somewhere around $350 each time.

Dr. Rossi sits down with each of her patients and explains the process specific to them. There is no straight forward case. It’s specific to the individuals and that’s how we felt walking out of the meeting... was overall very happy to help and gave us the details straightforward and without hesitation. She’s worth the wait and we understand why she’s highly recommended. We hope to continue our process with her and we plan to once the clinics start opening back up. She has the perfect mix of blunt/warming responses and recommendations.

I went to her [Dr. Brooke Rossi] after a negative experience at another dr, she was very understanding and immediately started doing more to help than he had. She’s very good at explaining things, never condescending or cold...So far, we have done more work ups to make a better plan. We planned to do a clomid/trigger/IUI cycle but it was postponed due to pandemic...She was warm and friendly but also very informative
Front desk [at Ohio Reproductive Medicine] was unorganized, but other than that everything is great. Clean, friendly, welcoming. Layout is a little odd, but not terrible. Labs are drawn in house, semen analysts next door and surgical center across the street so that’s convenient...[the nursing staff is] Very nice, respond in a timely... manner...She [Dr. Brooke Rossi] was warm and friendly but also very informative

I can tell Dr. Kennard is very experienced in her field and she is always on time for our appointments. I don’t feel like she asked me a lot of questions about my health history and I am not sure she took some of my concerns seriously before just diagnosing me with unexplained infertility. While Dr. Kennard is kind, she is very straight forward in her demeanor, which I think some people could take offense to.
They [Ohio Repro Med] are always very timely for appointments and even though various Dr’s have done the IUI procedures, all have been very professional and made me feel comfortable. While I appreciate the timeliness, I have sometimes felt rushed in my appointments and don’t have a chance to ask all my questions or get detailed explanations, so my advice would be to make sure you feel comfortable to not just settle bc you feel rushed.

Dr Schmidt is relaxed confident and positive. All important traits when you are suffering through infertility. However it’s still very much a businsss and I don’t feel like I’m getting personaliZed attention or care. I also don’t think this practice thinks outside the box. It’s very textbook style....He’s optimistic and relaxed. He instantly relaxes you and gives you hope.... Some nurses [Ohio Repro Med] are amazing and empathetic. Others are disorganized. So depends on what you Get. It’s a hassle also dealing with insurance.
