Dr. Massie is a wonderful and confident doctor who really knows the space of IVF inside-out. She is optimistic and real at the same time always explaining my chances of success or what to look out for. She understood that I love the details and would offer the appropriate level of explanations during our consultation. My only issue was that she sometimes didn't have long to spend during a check-in moving from one appointment to the next
[ORM Fertility] Strengths - I love the intimate feel of this clinic with one doctor and a few nurses - it really allows you to build a strong rapport. Another great part about this clinic is that all appointments start on time...Weaknesses: I would say that my treatment often had to be adapted and they did not have a systemic way to flag these adaptations.

Dr. Massie is a wonderful and confident doctor who really knows the space of IVF inside-out. My only issue was that she sometimes didn't have long to spend during a check-in moving from one appointment to the next - I don't blame her as she's the only doctor in the clinic who does everything from egg retrievals to transfers to the routine check-ups via a transvaginal ultrasound.
What's one piece of advice would you give a prospective patient of Jamie Massie at ORM Fertility Washington (Pinnacle Network clinic) (closed)?
Do your research but be open as well - Dr. Massie is very good at addressing questions but at the same time, you will only have so many opportunities to get into the depth of it all so being prepared with your list is absolutely critical. She has been fantastic every step of the way in delivering the news or next steps so treasure those times as many doctors aren't as involved as she is or remember all the details regarding your treatment/case.
During treatment, were you treated like a number or a human with Jamie Massie at ORM Fertility Washington (Pinnacle Network clinic) (closed)?
Dr. Massie was extremely warm and personable. I have severe vaginismus and she was always open to doing things differently or gradually given my condition. Most importantly, she was focused on the outcome whilst being creative in helping me get through some of the gnarlier activities such as SIS, etc. by using general anesthesia and clubbing multiple procedures at once.

Antagonist Protocol - Menopur 75 IU in the AM, Gonal F 200 in the PM. After Day 5, I started Cetrotide as well. The protocol lasted for 10 days, took a 10,000 IU HCG trigger shot and had my egg retrieval 36 hours later . Rationale for using this protocol was the least number of shots and fastest route for maximum success. Retrieved 14 eggs as a result of this procedure.

Hannah was wonderful and a God-send! She was proactive, communicated promptly and was extremely efficient in getting answers at the earliest. Most importantly, she showed a lot of compassion throughout my journey!

Strengths - I love the intimate feel of this clinic with one doctor and a few nurses - it really allows you to build a strong rapport. Another great part about this clinic is that all appointments start on time and the maximum I've had to wait was 5 minutes at the most. Getting in and out of the clinic quickly is such a blessing when you have a whole working day that lies ahead of you (they also offer 7.30am appointments) Weaknesses: I would say that my treatment often had to be adapted and they did not have a systemic way to flag these adaptations. Quite often, a treatment or list of medicines would be offered and I'd have to go back to check in on how this is different from what I had discussed with the doctor - triaging across it sometimes would take time. Also, they use their electronic portal strongly to communicate each and every aspect of treatment, medication, next steps - I love it since, it would make communication very efficient. With that being said, their portal needs a lot of work such as enabling a basic "reply" function vs. starting a new message for every response. Minor inconvenience but it would be great to get it fixed.

Covered through my employer's insurance that uses Progyny - my out of pocket including my husband's and my genetic testing/counseling, PGS testing of embryos was under $2k and insurance paid the rest.

As I mentioned earlier, due to my situation, I often had to adapt some parts of my treatment. For example, instead of taking progestrone suppositories, I would just take the injections and I had to message them to fix it on my treatment plan so I could convey it accordingly to my pharmacy for ordering of meds. This didn't take too long to fix but I wish there was better integration between the adaptations agreed upon with the Doctor now reflecting on my prescription and protocol

Dr Massie is the only doctor that you see while at her clinic so she really understands the issues that bring you to treatment in a way that seems noticeably different from the experience at other, larger, clinics where you often see a new person every time you come in.

The primary nurse that I worked with was amazing. The only issues that I ran into were when she was not available the other staff members were less responsive to questions/calls and not did not provide updates to my treatment plan on the timeline expected.

All issues that I experienced with this clinic were typically when my “normal” nurse was unavailable. The only issue that I experienced with the clinic when my nurse was available were getting specific test results posted to my portal. Apparently some patients don’t want the detailed results posted to their portal but I did and it took asking a couple of times to get them posted.

Generally they did a great job but there were times when I felt they should have known me by face/name better by then.

It's a small clinic which was nice, but also felt a little hard to get a hold of them. The portal was great and I always got what I needed but i didn't always feel like i knew the next step that was happening. First time for everything is hard, and once we got to the point that we had a calendar I felt much better. I'm very visual so I need the discussion plus a visual aid (i.e. calendar)

Really nice, brand new interior. Felt clean, almost felt too empty but they had just opened the Bellevue location. A little hard to find the building, the driveway into the business park is hard to distinguish from the others but the parking and building are nice.

The IVF cycle was a lump sum of 20,200. It was a little confusing because we were using an off-site genetic testing company about who we were paying for what, but it all got sorted. It didn't take any effort from me, just patience and seeing the bill come through. There was some miscommunication several weeks after the cycle (I got a bill, I don't remember for what, but they just took care of it).

Dr. Massie is the most compassionate person I have ever met. I have never felt so safe with a doctor and trusting of everything she recommended. I would recommend her to everyone I know. She is just a wonderful human being. She is very knowledgeable and will call you on her own personal time if you are in a pickle. I actually didn't have all my medication because my pharmacy was closed and she made sure to call in my meds to another pharmacist while she was off of work to make sure I had everything I needed. When my FET didn't work she called me and I asked her what is wrong with me.... she stayed on the phone with me let me vent and then made sure I knew that there is nothing wrong with me. She then called me later on the same day to make sure I was ok and talked to me for 30 minutes on her own time. I cannot say enough about this woman she is heaven sent!

Don't be afraid, she will do her best to make sure you have the best possible chance of conceiving. So just relax and trust she has your best interest.

Compared to the other 2 doctors I saw before Dr. Massie, Dr. Massie was the only one to make me feel like a human and not a number. I got pregnant for the very first time with her as my doctor from the first fresh transfer and unfortunately had a biochemical pregnancy. She was still so very supportive and coached me and my husband through the next phase. The next transfer was a FET and that didn't work she called and and talk to me over the phone for 30 minutes just to make sure I was ok. She cares so much and I trust her with every step of this hard journey. She gives me hope that I will get pregnant again.

For the FET I started out taking birth control (desogen), prenatal pill, cabergoline and aspirin Then started the progesterone and estradiol injections. Progesterone was every day and estradiol was twice a week. For the Egg Retrieval I cannot remember everything but I remember taking gonal F, Pregnal for the trigger shot, endometrium, Medrol, and estrace. I ended up having OHSS so I also had to take Ovasitol to help with that

With Dr. Massie we switched medications and decided to do things different because the first 9 months with the other doctor wasn't working. We switched to Letrozole & a trigger shot then IUI...was the first specialist I went to who actually explained questions I had rather than just giving me statistics. She really took time to make me feel like there was hope and we will get pregnant...I have been told by doctors that I was still young, too stressed, it's just not the right time. They didn't even stop to think even after 2 years of trying that something might be wrong. Dr. Massie has never pulled out the typical answers we were so used to hearing. She really helped us feel not so alone in this.

Dr. Massie is so sweet. It's hard to find a fertility doctor that shows you that they care rather than just going through the motions. She understood our situation and sympathized with us. Each month with infirtility is draining, it beats you up emotionally and physically and it's nice to have a doctor who really wants you to succeed, not because it's good for the clinic but because she wants everyone to be able to have a family who wants one. I have been told by doctors that I was still young, too stressed, it's just not the right time. They didn't even stop to think even after 2 years of trying that something might be wrong. I had been on 8 rounds of failed clomid. 1 successful round after endometriosis surgery with clomid & IUI that ended in a miscarriage. With Dr. Massie we switched medications and decided to do things different because the first 9 months with the other doctor wasn't working. We switched to Letrozole & a trigger shot then IUI.

So far most has gone to my deductible but the actual treatments themselves, such as IUI, I pay out of pocket for due to my insurance not covering.

She [Dr. Jamie Massie] was able to use a process of elimination to find the perfect combination of timing, medication and treatment path. After MANY years of MANY different treatments and MANY losses with several clinics, Dr. Massie and her team successfully instrumented our IVF cycle that led to our miracle son and future daughter...Not only was her medicine sound and obviously successful, but her genuine care, listening and flawless beside manner were icing on the cake. I would put Dr. Massie up against any other doctor as hands down the absolute best, my family is living proof!
[The nursing staff at ORM Fertility were] Phenomenal, to the point that they planned our appointments around other family obligations and knew each of us by name... Clinic was always prompt, clean and did everything within the enclosed hospital. Great, very few military bases have access to a reproductive infertility clinic. Clinic was always prompt, clean and did everything within the enclosed hospital. Surgery, bloodwork, treatments etc were all in the attached hospital.

One specific thing to note is that most all clinics have an additional fee for ICSI performed with IVF.

We had performed IVF with other clinics and had never been successful, this was our last effort we with a new clinic and the recommended number based on our stats was 1-2, so we went with 2.

We were able to ask all levels of questions and no question was a bad one. When we had concerns she was great at explanations and encouraging us...Antagonist protocol. I have had health issues and medication sensitivity so i didn't need high doses to complete my IVF cycle. She understood my concerns and created a cycle that worked with my body. Menopure 75 iu, Follistim 100 units, Dexamethasone, Ganirilix 250 mcg, Novarel 10,000 IU. 11 eggs retrieved , 10 fertilized with ICSI

[Dr. Amanda Hurliman] did only one ultrasound for me during my whole cycle...lacked of communication...didn't do the egg retrieval for me...meeting with the doctor and was told that age was my big problem...I was 45...only have 3 eggs and 2 became embryos, but I was told that those 2 embryos couldn't grow after Day 3

I am this doctor's patient, but she only saw me once during the whole egg retrieval cycle. While doing every ultrasound, nobody told me that I had uterine fibroids before. After that egg retrieval cycle, my uterine fibroids now become large than before. Now these large uterine fibroids affected my fertility a lot. It made me so sad.

I am her patient, but she did only one ultrasound for me during my whole cycle. We lacked of communication. I didn't receive the result that I expected. I spent a lot of money in an egg retrieval cycle, and the doctor ordered a lot of medication and I did a lot of injection. I am so sad for that result.

I had a consultant with the doctor before the cycle. After that, she let me do the ultrasound in the clinic that she didn't work there. She only did one ultrasound for me in her work clinic. She didn't do the egg retrieval for me, either.I did a lot of injection in that cycle and spent a lot. I only have 3 eggs and 2 became embryos, but I was told that those 2 embryos couldn't grow after Day 3. After that, I have a meeting with the doctor and was told that age was my big problem. At that time, I was 45. It was devastating to me.

The doctor was in ORM before and now she moved to Washington. ORM's nurses and other staff who worked there are friendly and had a close follow-up with me during my egg retrieval. Weakness: I remember that one injection that I need to have, but it was not ordered for me. Another doctor, probably helped me did that urgent order to receive the injection on time.
