This is the most recent data from the CDC. The CDC cautions that it should not be used to compare doctors and clinics. This data represents the outcomes of IVF cycles when using a person's own eggs.
For more information please see our FAQs.
Where you see a “?” on the chart, a clinic has done fewer than 20 cycles in this category and age range, so the CDC says showing percentages from this small data set would be misleading and unreliable.
Dr. Davis was phenomenal...I have a unicornuate uterus...I got pregnant...was caring, detailed, and really walked me and my husband through every step of the process...suggested trying different protocols that my previous clinic...never pressured me to do something I didn’t feel comfortable with...proceed with a medicated transfer cycle...

How was your experience with Anne Davis at RMA of San Diego/ Pearl Mini IVF?
Dr. Davis was phenomenal! When I got pregnant, I was actually sad I had to stop seeing her and that she couldn’t be my OBGYN. She was caring, detailed, and really walked me and my husband through every step of the process. It felt as though we were seeing a friend who was well versed with our medical histories and guided us through the entire treatment plan. She suggested trying different protocols that my previous clinic was never willing to try and was open to my wishes. She never pressured me to do something I didn’t feel comfortable with and would always listened to what I wanted to do and how I felt. She is truly one of the best doctors I have ever had.
What's one piece of advice would you give a prospective patient of Anne Davis at RMA of San Diego/ Pearl Mini IVF?
She is the best! I had the experience of going to two different clinics and seeing two different doctors during my fertility treatments and the difference between both doctors and clinics was like night and day. Dr. Davis is great and I would tell any prospective patient to go to her and see what she suggests as a treatment plan. Even if she suggests something, she always lets the patient decide what they want to do and what they feel comfortable with. There is never any pressure to do anything you don’t want to do.
During treatment, were you treated like a number or a human with Anne Davis at RMA of San Diego/ Pearl Mini IVF?
For every appointment, I would walk in to the clinic and the entire staff including Dr.Davis would welcome me and be familiar with my medical history. They didn’t have to refer to my paperwork and they were caring and compassionate the entire time. When we had a miscarriage and needed a D&C the entire team was so empathetic and caring and really made the experience much better for me, despite it being a difficult time for me mentally.
Describe the protocols Anne Davis used in your cycles at RMA of San Diego/ Pearl Mini IVF and their degree of success.
Dr. Davis was the second fertility doctor and clinic that I had been to. I had already done an egg retrieval and had frozen embryos ready from my prior clinic. I wanted to switch clinics because I had done 3 IUIs and 2 embryo transfers at my last clinic - all of which resulted in negative pregnancy tests. I also had done multiple tests, and HSGs and told Dr. Davis I didn't want to do anymore. Dr. Davis respected my wishes and suggested that we do a mock cycle where we can biopsy my tissue and get a better understanding of the uterine environment and biome. Since I had done two natural frozen embryo cycles, Dr. Davis suggested doing a medicated cycle. I told her I didn’t want to go on birth control as I didn’t like how I felt on it and again, she respected my wishes (something my last clinic was opposed to). We did the mock cycle, did the EMMA and ERA test and everything came back normal. So we decided to proceed with a medicated transfer cycle for our next embryo transfer. The transfer was successful but there were implantation issues which led to a miscarriage at 6 weeks and 5 days. We did a D&C to test the tissue and see if the issue was embryo related or implantation related and found the embryo to be normal. Dr.Davis said the cycle was successful since it did lead to a positive pregnancy test so she encouraged us to try again with another medicated embryo transfer. This one was successful and led to a positive pregnancy test. Dr. Davis saw me every week or every other week for ultrasounds at 5 weeks to make sure this pregnancy was viable. I graduated her fertility clinic at 9 weeks pregnant and am currently 15 weeks pregnant with my miracle rainbow baby. I truly don’t think I would have made it this far if it weren’t for Dr. Davis. I have a unicornuate uterus and was told by a doctor at my last clinic that I should give up trying and consider surrogacy. Dr. Davis was determined that I could get pregnant and have a healthy pregnancy. She never gave up on me and encouraged me to try as many times as I felt comfortable with.
Describe your experience with your nurse at RMA of San Diego/ Pearl Mini IVF. (Assigned nurse: Shannon Hepburn)
Everyone at Mini-Pearl IVF was incredible to work with, including my nurse coordinator. They all knew me by name and would smile and greet me every time I came in. If I ever had any concerns or questions, they were very responsive on the patient portal app or if I needed immediate assistance, I could call and be able to get ahold of someone (even during closed business hours).
Describe your experience with RMA of San Diego/ Pearl Mini IVF.
I honestly can’t think of any weaknesses. The clinic was great in making every patient feel like a person rather than a number. They would greet each person by their first name as they were checking in and they were always very timely. I never had to wait more than 5-10 minutes in the waiting room. They never harassed me for payment but simply billed my insurance and then sent me the remaining bill to my house. They always asked how I was doing when I checked in and really gave me the care and attention I needed when going through all these treatments and procedures.
Describe the costs associated with your care under Anne Davis at RMA of San Diego/ Pearl Mini IVF.
I can’t remember the total costs exactly but if I had to estimate, I would guess around $5K
Describe Anne Davis's approach to eSET (elective single embryo transfer) vs. multiple embryo transfer at RMA of San Diego/ Pearl Mini IVF.
Because I have a unicornuate uterus and am of younger age, both Dr. Davis and my previous clinc would only do single embryo transfers as opposed to multiple embryos. I was fine with that approach so went with their guidance.
Dr. Davis was amazing and supportive...communicated each step of the IVF process...made sure I understood the expected outcomes for each procedure...was very caring and it felt like she too was emotionally invested in the outcome of my IVF...went above and beyond what I expected

Describe the costs associated with your care under Anne Davis at RMA of San Diego/ Pearl Mini IVF.
I was using insurance to pay for all my IVF treatments, excepts medications, so my total out of pocket cost for egg retrieval, embryo preservation, and embryo transfer was about $9,000 total. For a patient without insurance the total for one complete egg retrieval was around $18,000. The stimulation medications that were taken prior to egg retrieval were around $3,000 for my protocol with a manufacturer discount from EDM Serano.
Describe Anne Davis's approach to eSET (elective single embryo transfer) vs. multiple embryo transfer at RMA of San Diego/ Pearl Mini IVF.
Dr. Davis strongly preferred a single embryo transfer due to the success rates of their embryo transfers and the risks involved in a pregnancy with multiples. She stated she would transfer 2 embryos if there was reason to do so and it was requested by the patient.
Dr. Davis is very personable and always listens to our questions and concerns with compassion, understanding, and knowledge. I saw her personally at almost all of my appointments...1 egg retrieval with ICSI. We did pre transfer testing and a month of Lupron suppression before transfer.
The billing department [of RMA of San Diego/ Pearl Mini IVF] is the only area that I had a little difficulty with. Communication was a bit slower. The facilities are wonderful and the administrative staff was always helpful! They do batch cycles which I know some women don't want but this wasn't a concern of mine.
How was your experience with Anne Davis at RMA of San Diego/ Pearl Mini IVF?
We are so grateful to Dr. Davis and the entire team at Pearl! After working with 2 other SD area clinics with no success we are so happy we moved forward with the Pearl team. Everything about our experience at this office was 1000% better than our experiences with other clinics. Dr. Davis is very personable and always listens to our questions and concerns with compassion, understanding, and knowledge. I saw her personally at almost all of my appointments which helped keep open lines of communication and quickly get answers to questions. I felt like I was treated like a person and not just a number or a science experiment. And most importantly we had success and are currently pregnant! I couldn't recommend Dr. Davis and her team more. She offered us hope and her approach with mini stim is exactly what my body needed. THANK YOU!

Dr. Davis is a unique combination of compassionate and also knowledgeable of IVF for people like me who need unique protocols due to DOR and endo. She has also gone through IVF herself, so she gets how hard it is when things don’t workout. When one of my egg retrievals didn’t go as planned she gave me a bunch of meds. She is kind and I am thankful for her. I feel like I can trust her. One drawback is she is the only doctor at her clinic and sometimes I feel like she gets busy and struggles with follow up.
I like how small the [Pearl Mini-IVF] clinic is and that it does not feel like you are just a number. I also like how my doctor does my ultrasounds, since this is a medical trauma for me. I also like how the entire staff are women...My nurse is quick to respond, kind and helpful. I have not had her very long because my last nurse left, but I am happy With her...The only issue was not getting my fertilization report on the day I expected to get it. They were waiting one more day to see if it would fertilize. I would have liked a message telling me this.

My husband has great sperm, but these seem to help.

How was your experience with Anne Davis at RMA of San Diego/ Pearl Mini IVF?
Dr. Davis oversaw my monitoring appointments for my out-of-town doctor. I ended up spending more time with her than I did at my actual home clinic. She was engaged in my care and the plan and willing to give her input when asked. I appreciated how she had ideas about how to incorporate lifestyle adjustments (supplements, acupuncture etc) into my treatment plan. She clearly cares for the well-being of her patients and it shows!

The clinic itself is beautiful. It's crisp & clean, while also feeling cozy and inviting.
A big perk is the location - right by the UTC mall, so it's perfect to grab a bite or go on a walk to clear your mind before or after an appointment. Parking is directly in front of the building & they validate.
If it wasn't for Pearl, I would have been tempted to give up on treatment, but they helped me keep going & I am forever grateful!
It’s a small practice so I was only ever seen by Dr. Davis. It was pretty easy to get in touch with her...very kind and reassuring...candid about your recommended treatment plan and possible success rate. After a failed cycle my husband and I had to push to get answers or ask for a change in the procedure (by scheduling a consult). But once we started talking [she] was always open to new ideas and made sure our voices were heard. I do love her practice but unfortunately haven’t seen the results I wanted yet. We are planning on staying with her to do our first round of IVF this June 2022.
One reason my husband and I chose those clinic was because we really liked Dr. Davis, it had a small staff which meant everyone knew us and we saw the same people almost every time. We also were able to have an initial consultation within one month of first calling them. They’re waitlists are short and is very easy to schedule appointments...nursing staff was super helpful and kind. They were very easy to communicate with on the app and would always respond within about a day with personal, thoughtful responses.

My first IUI, I took 100 mg of Clomid for days 3-7 then took an HCG trigger shot about 34 hours before my IUI. When I had my transvaginal ultrasound before the trigger my lining was ~9 and I had 1-3 large follicles. She had me on progesterone suppositories (vaginally- Endometrin), 100 mg once daily after taking a progesterone test and because of my history of spotting during my literal phase. I had a negative beta 12 DPO.
My second IUI we switched to 7.5 mg of letrozole days 3-7. During my lining check I had 1-3 good sized follicles but my lining was measuring low (I think close to 6). We still triggered and I had the IUI about 32 hours later. Progesterone supplemented again, this time 100mg twice a day after a low progesterone result from a blood draw. Negative beta 12 DPO.
Third IUI was the same protocol as the second one but my lining was slightly better, I think closer to 7. Similar amount of follicles. I triggered 4 hours after my lining check and went in for the IUI about 28 hours later. Same progesterone protocol. Negative beta at 12 DPO. After that Dr. Davis had my AMH tested again and it dropped from 1.2 to .87. She recommended moving onto IVF. I started working at Starbucks for their fertility benefits and quit teaching so we could afford IVF June of 2022.
After hearing about Endometritis and connecting those symptoms to mine I asked Dr. Davis for her opinion and she encouraged me to try 100mg of Doxycycline twice a day for 14 days to see if that takes away the spotting. I also have the option to get a biopsy but we are waiting to do that next month because it’s about $1000 out of pocket since my current insurance doesn’t cover anything infertility related.

It was about $1,500 for each IUI, out of pocket/without insurance. So we spent a total of $4,500 on IUIs plus an additional ~$1000 of other tests (genetic, bloodwork). Making the total around $5,500.
Describe Anne Davis's approach to eSET (elective single embryo transfer) vs. multiple embryo transfer at RMA of San Diego/ Pearl Mini IVF.
During our initial consult Dr. Davis said that she prefers to only do single embryo transfers because of the risk of multiples with doing more than one. We haven’t started our IVF process with her yet but I would assume that she would only do a single embryo transfer with us at least for the first round. I understand the risks that come with multiples but I would hope that our doctor would take this protocol case by case, especially with someone with a low implantation rate. My husband and I have been trying for 2+ years, 28 cycles and have o my had one chemical pregnancy.
She [Dr. Anne Davis] has great bedside manner and really knows what she’s talking about. She’s had to adjust my treatment to get my body to respond better and it worked! The only downside is trying to get ahold of her directly. It takes some time for her to call back...doesn’t rush appointments...Definitely would recommend her! But I would ask as many questions as possible...
