He performed my HSG test and had a calm/warm personality, which helped to calm me. For our consultation appointment to go over next steps, after 3 cycles with meds and timed intercourse and 2 IUI's, he was prepared with all of my previous treatment history and had already printed out information and stats IVF and how it would work for me. He was sensitive and supportive to the fact that I wanted to keep trying a few more rounds of IUI because it is covered by our insurance, but IVF is not covered. He explained in detail the IVF process and patiently answered my questions.

Dr. McCoy couldn't be any more personable and respectful. He takes time to get to know his patients, asked me what I did for work and how I liked it, talked to me about my insurance, asked about my partner and his experience with this journey. All of those things help when a doctor that you are meeting for the first time is performing an invasive procedure. He called me the night before a holiday to personally deliver test results and when I missed the first call, he called back again. I could hear in his voice the genuine happiness that he shared with my partner and I, and that was appreciated. During the consultation that he encouraged me to schedule, he explained things until I understood, repeated if needed, and took as much time as I needed in that I never felt rushed. It was the same with the procedure. I feel grateful that he has been my primary doctor during this journey.

Be patient while waiting to get on his schedule--it is well worth it and you will be in great hands of someone who truly cares.

3 IUIs with letrozole and a trigger shot Ovidrel 1st round of IVF, Sprintec birth control, Provera 10 mg, Novarel and Lupron, low dose hcd 30, increased to 40 over time, Keflex to prevent infection, Gonal F 250 increased to 325 over time. With this protocol I had scans and labs drawn regularly and was able to retrieve 35 eggs making it 12 embryos and 9 that are healthy, optimal for transfer.

For IUI, we chose self pay to save the insurance benefits. For IVF, everything is through a 3rd party insurance and bills are just starting to roll in.

Dr. McCoy practices single embryo transfer to minimize risks and I support his decisions.

Dr. McCoy has always plainly explained my fertility situation. He has been compassionate but has not sugar coated anything. From my initial appointment to my last one he takes his time with me. When previous treatments didn’t work we kept moving forward. He has had a plan from the beginning, but he has tailored it to fit my fertility needs as new situations have come up. As a physician it is easy to see that he loves what he does. He enjoys helping people create families.

Ask a lot of specific questions. He sometimes forgets that it is your first time through each process.

I took Letrozole cycle days 3-8 to grow follicles. I went in for a follicle scan on day 12 with my first five medicated cycles. The follicles were ready and we triggered ovulation with Ovidrel. These were timed intercourse cycles. My fifth cycle it was determined that I ovulated early, after that I went on day 10 for follicle scans. After eight unsuccessful cycles with all of that we moved on to IUI. Same protocol but did IUI instead of intercourse. Nothing was successful. I have not gotten pregnant yet.

I paid out of pocket, at a discounted rate, for my medications. My insurance covered all in-office exams, ultrasounds, procedures, and appointments.

John Payne was very direct about what to expect and what are chances were. He was also warm and understanding. We had a very smooth time with both egg retrieval and FET due to the fact that he was there walking us through basically holding our hand.

We did 3 clomid cycles with IUI and that was due to me having pcos as that was are first steps at conceiving. I went for ultrasounds almost every other day to keep checking eggs and then timed just right to do iui. All 3 cycles failed. Then we tried IVF because that was our next step since he explained after 3 tries that’s all my insurance would cover and the states say after three the chances of if working keep going down. We did one egg retrieval and then one FET and that worked on the first time

Insurance covered Clomid and IUI when doing IVF had to pay $35,000 up front for egg retrieval and FET insurance covered most medicine so only paid a $150 each transfer cost $3,000 after the first genetic testing of embryos cost $2,500 keeping embryos froze cost $500 every year

At first I was upset thinking that would lessen our chance of conceiving, but after explaining just how hard it can be to carry multiples and how the genetic testing increase chances I felt better

As a patient, I would recommend Dr. Nichols. I felt that he explained everything to us and what to expect in our consultation. We live far away from our clinic and he was able to make progress with us in just a few visits. I also had to have a procedure completed and I felt like he was very compassionate and caring when I was anxious and nervous. I look forward to working with him and his facility in the future.

Just be patient, not everything happens overnight but he will work with you to find a solution.

I was diagnosed with unexplained infertility in early November of 2021. We started letrozole 5mg and also a trigger shot in December. We did this for 2 months and then we upped my dosage of letrozole to 7.5mg with a trigger shot. I fell pregnant that cycle. Unfortunately, the baby’s heart stopped beating around 8 weeks and I was going to have a miscarriage. I was given several options on how to treat the miscarriage. I was never pushed into any treatment that I didn’t want to do. I chose to have a D&C. After the procedure, the doctor made time to talk with me about how everything went and next steps. He called me the next week with my D&C results and what our next steps were. Even though we lost our first pregnancy, I have hope to keep trying because of Dr Nichols and his nurses in Asheville.

I have to pay my copay for a specialist when I see the doctor. That is $70 each visit. I also have to pay for my medication which is close to around $150 a month right now. I also paid for my D&C which was around $850

Dr. Payne understands that there is no black and white handbook when it comes to infertility care. He thoroughly explains the issues that are known, he explains his recommendations, and he gives you adequate time to make decisions without pressure. It's easy to assume that when you go to a fertility specialist, they will be able to diagnose you during your first appointment, and "fix" you by the second. However, it is more of a journey than a one stop shop, and while it is a difficult journey for most of us, Dr. Payne is there with you every step of the way... answering questions and looking ahead to the next step of the journey.

Just trust the professional. He's been in his line of work for years, and he is willing to work with you and try new things to reach your pregnancy goals.

I am technically diagnosed with unexplained infertility. However, I have failed 2 out of 3 HSGs, so we are assuming my tubes are an issue as well... So instead of wasting efforts and resources on IUIs, we went straight for IVF. Before coming to PREG, I was on an insane amount of Clomid Cycles (25ish)? Dr. Payne did away with that, proceeded with the IVF protocol. 1 Egg retrieval resulted in 5 embryos to blast. For our two transfers, we did Estrodiol and Progesterone. Sadly, the two transfers resulted in two chemical pregnancies and a great deal of heartbreak. However, we are getting ready for a myomectomy and a mock transfer to test the uterine lining.

I believe the HSG was $600ish. The IVF egg retrieval and first transfer was $12,000ish. And the following transfers were $3500ish. Labs are extra, initial ultrasound was extra, and semen analysis was extra, but I'm pretty sure all of those fell under the $500 mark, individually.

Dr. Payne strongly encouraged eSET.

He always put my mind at ease with his extensive knowledge. I would love to see him more in the treatments but at the same time he is always willing to jump on a call or schedule a meeting if necessary.

Don’t be afraid to ask a million questions and come prepared for your meetings so you get the best of your time.

I have endometriosis and one blocked Fallopian tube and my husband has low sperm count. Husband was put on clomid which we saw amazing results with that treatment for him. We were given a less than 5% chance of getting pregnant on our own and that IVF would be the best option for us. He didn’t think that IUI would work for us but was willing to give us 3 chances. After that he felt we would be throwing money away. (Loved the honesty!) We did our first IUI in October and resulted in a biochemical pregnancy. We were devastated. We had never seen a positive pregnancy test before and they short lived joy of that was really hard when we got our blood test results. Dr. Tarnawa and the nurses explained what that meant and why it can happen and gave us so much peace. We had to skip November’s cycle due to hormone levels taking awhile to come back to normal. We were scheduled to do another IUI in December and found out the day before Christmas that our IUI was cancelled due to my dominant follicle being on the side with the blocked tube. (Devastated was an understatement.) We did our second IUI in January and we were both on clomid and I had 1 trigger shot. We also did daily progesterone vaginal suppositories to help in case my lining was too thin and that could be a reason for a biochemical pregnancy. We found out 2 weeks later that it didn’t work. (4th month in a row of devastating news.) We met with Dr. Tarnawa in January and had the hard conversation of deciding to skip our 3rd IUI opportunity and moving to IVF. IVF increases our chances from 5% to 65%. I have a very high AMH which should give good results in follicle counts and eliminating the need to follow my bodies natural cycle and eliminating the use of the Fallopian tubes should give us the best results in having our own family!

I believe we are at about $5,000 and it will being jumping to $20,000 in the next 2 months.

Dr. McCoy has always been up front and honest with us. When I began seeing him for treatment, I had been to a primary OB that wanted to skip looking into the "blockage" that she claimed to have found without any tests besides an HSG. I was distraught and scared. Dr. McCoy reviewed the images from my HSG, multitude of ultrasound images, went over my history in detail.. then asked to evaluate things for himself because something wasn't adding up. After his exam, he discovered I did not have a blocked tube, but I have what is called a unicornate uterus. Nothing that needed to be surgically corrected as it was something I was born with. He answered all of my questions right then and there about my diagnosis.

Don't waste time with primary ob's. I wasted over a year of time and got no where at all besides broken hearted month after miserable month. If you are worried about the cost, also don't, the office has many options to help you even if your insurance doesn't have benefits for fertility. It is reasonable with or without insurance.

I came in likely already too old to successfully carry a pregnancy. John Payne gave me a realistic assessment of my chances, and the space I need to weigh things out for myself, and although I have not yet attained the outcome I have hoped for, I have never felt anything but well cared for in his company. It should probably be noted that I am significantly overweight: his compassion and lack of judgment I’ve been very striking, and I very much appreciate both.

It’s useful for him to know how you like being communicated with. When we first began he was quite, quite gentle until I specifically asked him to be as blunt as possible. Once I had, our conversation shifted pretty readily into something far more useful to me. I was impressed he was able to switch tactics so thoroughly, to meet me where I was Most comfortable.

We tracked fertility cycles, Timed IUI treatments, and generally hoped for the best. Eventually we added Clomid to that routine. It didn’t work, which, while heartbreaking, makes complete sense because it was statistically unlikely in the first place. I was given other options, but was generally unable to afford them. Dr. Payne and his staff were incredibly compassionate and understanding about the role finances Had to play in my decision making, and we’re far better than I would’ve hoped in keeping me on track.

I honestly have no idea: purchasing sperm and the clinics various treatments generally cost about $3000 a cycle Out of pocket, but I believe most of the cost was billed to insurance.

Dr. McCoy is an exceptional doctor. He is always very attentive, analytical, calm, cooperative, creative, energetic, ethical, friendly, gracious, humorous, investigative, knowledgeable, mature, nurturing, observant, compassionate, reassuring,skillful, trustworthy, and vigilant. The only negative I have its hard to get an appointment because he's very busy. I will never forget when he had to provide me with not so good news he was so apologetic but willing to do whatever he can to assist me.

When you visit Dr. McCoy know that your best interest comes first. Bring questions as they are welcomed. You will not be rush as he will spend as much time as needed.

I am a new patient and my first visit he gave me lab work . My second visit we went over the next steps. At this time I have a procedure scheduled so do not have results at this time. I am very pleased with the pace he is moving as he is really trying to help me get results.

So far my insurance covered most of the cost. I have had to pay a fee each visit had to pay $60 deductible for a specialist fee. The cost for my pre op was $150. I will have more to pay as we approach the next steps.

My husband and I came to Dr. McCoy originally for genetic reasons. After meeting with him and my husband having a semen analysis we found out we could have potential issues due to my husbands sperm count. Dr. McCoy explained how we would over come those issues and eased my anxieties right away. We then did a recessive gene screening and found that my husband and I both carry a disease that our child could die from. Dr.McCoy right away called me and explained the results and explained what could be done to prevent passing this on to our children. Due to having to screen for two genetic issues now Dr.McCoy did what was necessary and amped up my protocol to get as many eggs as possible to increase our chances of getting a “normal” embryo. Him and my awesome nurse managed my care so well and followed my lab work so closely. I got 45 eggs retrieved! I appreciate Dr. McCoys honesty about that fact that we may not get any embryos that work. His honesty meant a lot and helped me prepare for that scenario. Fortunately of the 13 embryos we got 4 are considered not at risk and are usable. Dr. McCoy knew my anxieties about waiting for test results so he called us personally at 7:30pm after hours to give us the results. That meant so much to us! Unfortunately my first transfer ended in a chemical pregnancy, but we are taking a break and hopeful for the next. Dr. McCoy immediately reached out to us to review the process and next possible options to explore why the pregnancy was lost. This gave me a lot of comfort and shows he truly cares about each individual case!

To trust the process and Dr. McCoy he knows what he is doing and is very thorough. He is very vigilant of every one of his patients and there individual case. He is very honest about outcomes and what to expect, but in a gentle manner.

For my retrieval I took gonal f 250 units at night for 12 nights, 20 units Hcg, keflex, aspirin, and provera tablets. I can’t remember exactly how my doses changed throughout the 12 day stim process because they changed a lot. Dr. McCoy changed them a lot because my estrogen was high and he wanted to keep my out of OOHS but wanted to get as many eggs as possible. It was an intricate balance. I didn’t do the hcg trigger just the Lupron to keep me out of OOHS. I had 45 eggs retrieved, 20 fertilized, and 13 made it to day 5 to be biopsied and frozen. Of the 13, four can be used for transfer. For my first transfer I did estrogen pills up to 7mg daily and then the week of my transfer I did .75mg PIO shots daily. I also did steroid pills with keflex and aspirin. My transfer was seamless and so easy. I was pregnant then started cramping and ended up having a chemical pregnancy. We are now exploring the next steps and taking a mental and emotional break. This process is so stressful but having a great doctor and nurses helps a lot.

The cycle cost was around 20,000, the medications 4,000, and the genetic testing 11,000. My insurance did not cover anything so we had to pay out of pocket using practically all our savings. I need to have a uterine biopsy now but do not have the money readily because it will be our of pocket too.

Due to my age and my presumed level of fertility one embryo was selected. Also I am 5,1” so carrying two babies might pose a greater risk for my health and delivering too early.

Dr. Nichols (when he was around) explained things very clearly and plainly throughout the TIC, IUI, and IVF process. Unfortunately he couldn’t explain why all my embryos “fell apart” and I’m not sure if it’s because he truly did not know or if he didn’t feel like he had the time to look into it further. Or perhaps because I don’t have money he knew I couldn’t pay for more experimentation. He was wishy-washy about recommending a second try which is why I haven’t pursued anything else yet. I wish he had suggested blood testing for genetic anomalies earlier without my having to bring it up late in the process.

He speaks plainly.

I tried about 3 TICs, 3 IUIs (only went through with 2 due to where the follicles were), 1 IVF (no transfer - all embryos died before freezing), and a laparoscopic surgery to look at Fallopian tubes which resulted in “everything looks fine and now you owe 4K that your insurance doesn’t cover too bad we couldn’t tell you that ahead of time”.

Drugs for TIC were fairly inexpensive due to insurance. IUI procedures were about 500 each, out of pocket. IVF including drugs was about 27,000 out of pocket. Got some refunded due to failure. Laparoscopic procedure was over 30,000 with most covered by insurance but about 4000 out of pocket.

My doctor did not believe it was safe to transfer more than one embryo at a time and I believe he will not perform those procedures.

We first met dr. Payne over a year ago and absolutely felt like ‘just a number’ in his practice. He seemed overly sure of himself and that he wasn’t interested in our particular situation. PREG being the only close by clinic we decided to give it another shot and have had an entirely different experience with him. He seems more caring and has slowed down to explain everything I have a question about. Overall his demeanor and knowledge makes us feel confident that we are making the right decision in working with him.

Don’t expect him to be warm and cuddly, but he seems to know what he is talking about.

We are getting ready to start our first round of ivf with icsi. We have male factor infertility results from cancer treatment. So far I have undergone testing to determine eligibility for Univfy, and been started on birth control to prepare for stims.

18,500 for one round of ivf including unlimited embryo transfers from that round and their fee for embryo biopsy.

Our doctor has told us we will start with single embryo transfer.

Dr. Nichols was nice at my consultation; however he did not spend a lot of time with me that day. Honestly he wanted to push IVF upfront since I had came from another doctor that did an iui already. It seemed he did not want me to try an iui. As stated before I only seem dr Nichols at my consultation as he primarily works out of the south Carolina office I was told and I went to the North Carolina office for my treatment. When the dosage of my fertility medication did not get results he didn't to my knowledge review and see if my dose needed to be increased to get better results. I was actually told on the days of my injections by the nurses that sometimes my follicles were on the small side, but they would go ahead and do my injections and have me come back for the iui. When I recieved my initial load result call from the nurse the only thing they found was low thyroid and low vitamin D. However after vitamin D supplements were started Dr Nichols never retested. As well I have had thyroid issues for 20 years. It seems to me that low thyroid could be a contributing factor in my infertility but they did not seem concerned about it.

Ask a lot of questions and ask for treatment to be re-evaluated through out the process. I literally felt like I flushed my money down the toilet

First 3 cycles were letrozole only 7.5 mg 3 more cycles letrozole 7.5 mg and injection shot Never once was it discussed to go up on the letrozole dose. Even though I was not getting pregnant

My total costs were a lot out of pocket. A good guess of my costs for my treatment there would be $6,000

Dr. McCoy talked to us, in the beginning, about how everything works and he didn't sugar coat anything. He gave us the information about how successful this process is and at the same time seemed exited for the outcome it could bring. He was very respectful and was always there to answer questions.

It can be a long journey, but it's well worth it. Don't give up hope and trust the doctors at PREG. They care and know what they are doing.

I had to take a course of injections and oral medications to get ready for egg retrieval. We did the egg retrieval along with creating the embryos. We did 4 cycles total. The first one was a fresh embryo transfer and the other 3 were frozen embryo transfers. We tried one single transfer the first two times and then the other two times were two embryos. They did testing to check for different things after the first miscarriage.

For the initial IVF procedure it was between 12,000 and 15,000. The frozen embryo transfers it was between 3,500 and 4,000.

Dr. McCoy recommended single embry transfer, but gave us the option to do multiple (two) embryo transfer.

Dr. Nichols can be blunt at times, but you know he is only trying to convey all of the possible outcomes-- the good, the bad and the ugly. We all know that IVF has all of the above!! At one time, Dr. Nichols was especially compassionate when I broke down while talking about having to ask another woman to carry my child. I always look forward to my visits because I feel I am being treated and cared for by a very knowledgeable doctor.

Be prepared for no nonsense and no sugar coated communication. Dr. Nichols will guide you through everything, but you have to be willing to let him do so.

I will be taking birth control to start followed by Menopur and Lupron. I have not actually started the meds yet so I feel I cannot give much insight on this at this time.

We are using the Simply IVF method, and I know the promotional rate that we were given is no longer available, but it is still just have the cost of traditional IVF-- between 5,000 and 6,000. Of course, we will have to use our gestational carrier for the transfer, and this will be an additional $8000 plus her medications.

This office does allow you to chose whether you want to implant one or two embryos-- not more than two, but they do recommend only transferring one.

Dr McCoy is a very intelligent man, but doesn't treat you like you're just some number to him. He is caring and compassionate. He takes time to listen to you and your concerns. You definitely do not feel rushed to get out of his office. He answers all questions and gives you hope to your situation. He's a very busy provider and his schedule proves that, but you don't get that sense of rush when you are in front of him. He is also a top notch surgeon who gave me hope when several other providers only had bad news. I had to go into surgery to fix one issue, but he made sure to check other things out in there to prevent having to go back in later.

He is very busy, so be patient. He is worth the wait.

Clomid and Letrozole to treat my anovulation. Then we discovered that my husband probably hadale infertility. That was analyized and he was give the same medications. We have been through 2 IUIs that were unsuccessful. Taking a break at this time due to finances.

While I had insurance, I didn't have to pay anything other than copay. Once we lost insurance, we had to pay $475 up front for both IUI procedures.

Dr Nichols explained the results of all of our testing thoroughly and in ways we could clearly understand. Once it was time to decide on a course of action, he clearly laid out our different options and the success rates of each of those options. When our first embryo transfer failed he gave us a few options moving forward and didn’t push us to go a specific way, he just laid out the options and left it up to us to decide. Our second transfer was successful and we now have a beautiful baby boy.

Ask a lot of questions and trust in his medical expertise.

We didn’t do a fresh transfer because we wanted to do genetic testing on our embryos. After testing we were left with 7 frozen embryos. Our first cycle I was on 7 estrogen pills a day, 6 oral and 1 vaginal, and .5cc of PIO. That cycle failed even though my lining and hormone levels were all excellent. The second FET cycle we did Dr Nichols advised us to do a scraping of the uterine lining to promote new cell growth so we did that. My progesterone was a little low so in addition to the 7 estrogen pills a day, he upped my PIO dosage to 1cc and I was also on a progesterone suppository. That cycle resulted in a live birth.

Egg retrieval through the first pregnancy test was around $15,000. The second FET was $3000 not including the cost of medications. We paid for everything out of pocket.

Dr Nichols advised us to transfer one embryo at a time. My only issue was tubal blockage so he seemed pretty confident that we wouldn’t have any issues getting pregnant by FET. He advised that transferring multiple embryos could result in a multiple birth which is higher risk. We opted to only do a single embryo for each transfer because of his advice.

My doctor has been forthcoming with me about everything I am up against and has dotted every "I" and crossed every "t." So far I have had surgery under him, he has diagnosed me with several issues that allow him to know how to treat me, and he has explained very well my next steps that are leading me toward IVF.

He is a wonderful doctor!

Upon my first appointment in September of 2016, after having had a second miscarriage (and my regular OB didn't even check to make sure everything was cleared)...After just fifteen min of talking to me he knew something wasn't right and did a vaginal ultrasound that very day. He discovered something in my uterus and a hysteroscopy was performed in October to remove it. He also did blood work that very day to diagnose me with low ovarian function and Antiphospholipid syndrome which is a blood clotting disorder. Once I was cleared from my hysteroscopy...I started letrozol rounds in November . I did produce follicles ....But in January after two negative rounds he added injections of Ovedrel to my regimin. After experiencing a fee more negatives he had my husband's sample tested. After it was discovered my husband was fine- he is advising me to have a consultation on IVF due to suspicion that I may have low egg quality due to my miscarriage history and the fact that while the medicine produces multiple follicles -i have still be unable to get pregnant. I still owe all the diagnosis that I have received to him. My regular OB told me I was fine and that I would have to go through another miscarriage before they would even test me via bloodwork ! I am glad I know what I am up against now !!

I don't want to list costs ....But in my state infertility treatments (ivf, etc) are not covered by insurance. The best thing is that when I have an appointment I pay my co pay and that covers whatever my doctor does that visit whether it is an ultrasound or bloodwork. There are no extra fees and I like that . The office is great about doing discounts too

When Dr. Payne sat my husband and I down in his office to explain to us why he felt our IVF had failed, he was very compassionate. I felt that he was almost as upset and brokenhearted as we were. The moment still brings tears to my eyes and it's been four years. I unfortunately feel that there wasn't enough done by him or his staff afterwards to help us. I am a teacher and my husband is a factory worker. We couldn't afford another IVF cycle and there were no attempts made at working with us to accomplish this, knowing he had a plan to try again. I also experienced extreme depression from the failed IVF. This is probably common and it should become practice to give some suggestions on what to do. Maybe pamphlets or a list of doctors/counselors in the area a husband/wife/couple could talk to who are experienced with child loss/infertility. I just feel he should check in with his failed IVF patients and/or work with them on another attempt instead of needing 90-100% of the price again.

He's a great doctor you can trust so just do your part: take every precaution and know that this may be your only shot!

From what I can remember from four years ago, Dr. Payne doubled one of my shots I was giving myself (the refrigerated one) because something wasn't responding correctly. I have Celiac Disease and didn't find out until I was 29 years old. I have read that it can cause infertility so I don't know if I just can't have children. I also know not many eggs were retrieved and only one was viable enough to try. I have two stepsons and would love to have one of my own but know that may not be an option any more as I'm 35 now.

Unfortunately, my IVF procedure was four years ago and I can't remember specifics. However I do remember needing to have about $1500 in cash to pay for medications/shots (especially for the extra doses ordered).

Dr. Payne's next plan is to have my husband's sperm retrieval and my egg retrieval on the same day. The first time my husband's sperm had been frozen and he feels that we will have more success with a fresh transfer. My husband and I believe in Dr. Payne and his plan.

Dr Nichols is very compassionate and caring. He explains everything in detail gives us our options and also his honest opinion which helps with decision making. Any questions we have he is more than happy to answer. He goes over next steps very clearly so we know what to expect.

To make sure you make a list of all the questions you have and feel free to ask him anything. He is very knowledgeable and explains things very well.

I have just started seeing Dr Nichols and just recently went over cost for the procedure we are looking at doing. He gave us a detailed list of information about pricing and nutse was able to sit down and talk to us in more depth about the financial part.

He is very kind and to the point and that’s what I Love about him. Always answers all my questions and is willing to help in any way. A great doctor very caring. He sat me down after my first set of labs and went through and explained each one and what they meant, trying to give me some answers as to all of my losses. I would recommend him highly to anyone struggling with infertility

He started me on femara to induce ovulation,because I had been on clomid for way to long. Then I come in for a follicle scab on day 11, based on that I will do an hcg trigger shot, then 3 days post ovulation I will start progesterone suppositories to help try and prevent miscarriage. I also am on daily aspirin and metformin due to pcos and pregnancy loss.

He presented information in a nice but professional way. He reviewed results with us so we could understand them. He also presented us with different treatment options and the pros and cons of each. He also would ask us at each visit if we had any questions regarding our care.

Ask questions if you don't understand something.

We tried using letrozole with IUI for our first cycle which was not successful. We then tried letrozole only and did become pregnant but miscarried at 7.5 weeks. Currently, we are taking things slowly.

IUI was $695.00. Trigger injection was $100.00. Letrozole was $4.00 per cycle.

He is a Compassionate, caring, and understanding doctor. He always gave us all our options and what he thought would be best for our situation. He had a great bedside manner. He took the time to explain things when we had questions or didn’t understand something. He was encouraging during the process of our treatmen.

A great fertility doctor, very educated in fertility treatments

Suggested to attempt iui, after the second failed attempted he suggested ivf but gave the option to try iui one more time.

While doing fertility treatment insurance did not cover the treatments. Each iui was 400 dollars, not counting the medications, between medications and the ivf treatment it was about 20,000 to 25,000 dollars. We spent the extra money to get the embryos tested and we are glad we did considering we only had one perfect little miracle out of 4 good embryos.

Dr. Nichols is brilliant at what he does. He is on the "blunt" side of explanations, but he is thorough and makes sure there is complete understanding. He is a busy man, but he does take time to get to know you specifically in order to best treat you.

Know yourself! Have a full history ready when you go for your first appointment. And also to be ready for some hard truths at times, but know that they are necessary!

For all three cycles we used Femara 7.5mg along with Gonal-F injections and HCG trigger shots. I unfortunately did not ovulate on any of the cycles, even when we upped dosages on the injections.

Unfortunately my insurance did not cover any costs at PREG, however my husbands insurance covered some of the appointments/treatments/ultrasounds. Otherwise, we would have paid $400+ a visit.
