This is the most recent data from the CDC. The CDC cautions that it should not be used to compare doctors and clinics. This data represents the outcomes of IVF cycles when using a person's own eggs.
For more information please see our FAQs.
Where you see a “?” on the chart, a clinic has done fewer than 20 cycles in this category and age range, so the CDC says showing percentages from this small data set would be misleading and unreliable.
He [Dr. Isam Balat] is the first dr that genuinely cared. He gave me his cell phone number and even came in on a Saturday morning to do an iui...He is very caring and specializes in fertility even though he is a obgyn. I never had to wait long to see him, he always was super positive but realistic. He does have a heavy accent and speaks fast so it can be hard to understand sometimes...didn’t respond well to clomid and didn’t have enough mature follicles so dr balat said not to waste money on iui that cycle and just do timed intercourse. Next cycle- letrozole- responded very well and had 5 mature follicles And ovulated- did iui- no success. 3rd Cycle- tried clomid again- did not respond well again. Dr said to stick with letrozole. Currently- put me on bc for 10 days to restart my cycle before trying letrozole and iui again. Want to try iui 4 Times before switching to ivf
They [staff at Plaza OB/GYN] are all very sweet. The office is busy so it can take a while to get a call back but they do call same day...my insurance does not cover anything fertility related but since dr balat is an obgyn it was able to be covered! All visits, ultrasounds, medication, etc. only thing not covered was trigger shot and iui which were not even close to the cost of any of the nearby fertility clinics. I believe the cost for my iui was $180 and trigger shot was $100

They did forget to call in one of my prescriptions and then called it in the next day. However, when I went to pick it up the dosage was wrong
Dr. Balat doesn't show a lot of emotion when talking with his patients. He isn't very warm and fuzzy, but he is very knowledgeable. He was supportive of our desire to have children, and knew exactly what we needed to try in regards to our situation.... We started with clomid and HCG shot for an IUI cycle. We did this regimen twice. We then tried Lupron injections, along with FSH shots for an IUI cycle. Decided to do laparoscopy to remove stage 4 endometriosis. After the cycle, we tried FSH shots for an IUI cycle. All of these resulted in negative pregnancy tests.
The clinic [Plaza OB/GYN] is in somewhat of an outdated building, and the wait time was always VERY long. I came to expect my appointments taking at least two hours because I would often have to wait an hour before being taken back, and then waiting another thirty minutes before I was seen in my room... Mostly manageable. The office was good at billing things for care of my endometriosis disease, instead of billing it as infertility procedures.

There were pretty minor problems from a lack of communication. They were all fixed by a simple phone call... but annoying all the same that it had to be that way.
