Attention to Detail

Attention to detail is on a 1 - 10 scale, and is scored based on the rate, and severity, of errors committed by the clinic according to the patients.

For example, a severe error might be failing to inform a patient of critical information, while a small error might be failing to call a patient with results.

CDC Success Rates

This is the most recent data from the CDC. The CDC cautions that it should not be used to compare doctors and clinics. This data represents the outcomes of IVF cycles when using a person's own eggs.

For more information please see our FAQs.

Where you see a “?” on the chart, a clinic has done fewer than 20 cycles in this category and age range, so the CDC says showing percentages from this small data set would be misleading and unreliable.

Dr Brower has amazing bedside manner and treats her patients and their partners like a person...kind, empathetic, and encouraging throughout the entire process...was very kind to try other brands and dosages of progesterone to help curb my hives/rash...is informative, available and communicative for any questions, empathic and kind, and encouraging
[ Reproductive Partners Medical Group] has made a lot of improvements from pre-2024...I would read reviews with a more recent lens of experiences...Becky was fantastic to work with and the best cheerleader to us through our cycle...called me herself and was audibly excited for us.
How was your experience with Meredith Brower at Reproductive Partners Medical Group (Ivy Fertility Network clinic)?
Dr Brower is the type of doctor every person going through fertility care should have. She is informative, available and communicative for any questions, empathic and kind, and encouraging. She sees you as a whole person, understands the journey you've been on and the sensitivity it takes to be a support during the fertility process. I moved clinics to stay with Dr Brower and am happily in my second trimester with my second successful pregnancy as a result of working with Dr Brower. My first miracle child is the light of our lives and the best gift Dr Brower gave us in 2023. We look forward to our second miracle in 2025.
What's one piece of advice would you give a prospective patient of Meredith Brower at Reproductive Partners Medical Group (Ivy Fertility Network clinic)?
If you have any hesitations, give her a chance. She is on your side and will be a support and guide to you along the way.
During treatment, were you treated like a number or a human with Meredith Brower at Reproductive Partners Medical Group (Ivy Fertility Network clinic)?
Dr Brower has amazing bedside manner and treats her patients and their partners like a person. She is kind, empathetic, and encouraging throughout the entire process.
Describe the protocols Meredith Brower used in your cycles at Reproductive Partners Medical Group (Ivy Fertility Network clinic) and their degree of success.
My first cycle I had pretty gnarly reactions/symptoms to some of my meds. She was very kind to try other brands and dosages of progesterone to help curb my hives/rash.
Describe your experience with your nurse at Reproductive Partners Medical Group (Ivy Fertility Network clinic). (Assigned nurse: Becky)
Becky was fantastic to work with and the best cheerleader to us through our cycle. When the positive pregnancy test came back within a couple hours, Becky called me herself and was audibly excited for us. I cried knowing how well taken care of we were from the entire staff.
Describe your experience with Reproductive Partners Medical Group (Ivy Fertility Network clinic).
RPMG has made a lot of improvements from pre-2024 (as I have friends who worked with them previously and had not great experiences due to admin staff). I would read reviews with a more recent lens of experiences.

[Dr. Jacqueline Ho] assessed my blood levels and/or my ultrasound results in order to determine whether to adjust my meds...retrieval day, she checked in on me before the procedure, after the procedure was over, and then called me later in the afternoon to check in and see how I was doing...mild case of PCOS
Strengths [of Reproductive Partners Medical Group]...are open seven days a week...can contact the on-call doctor...Weakness...can be a challenge to get in touch with them...have the nurse call you back in the afternoon. Sorting out the payment with my insurance was a bit of a challenge and a little unclear to me
How was your experience with Jaqueline Ho at Reproductive Partners Medical Group (Ivy Fertility Network clinic)?
Since my initial consultation with Dr. Ho, I felt like she was very knowledgeable and caring. When I started medication (stimulation injections), she had me come in nearly everyday and each time, she assessed my blood levels and/or my ultrasound results in order to determine whether to adjust my meds. She really took the time to make sure I was getting the best treatment! On retrieval day, she checked in on me before the procedure, after the procedure was over, and then called me later in the afternoon to check in and see how I was doing. 12/10 would recommend this amazing doctor to anyone going through a process like egg freezing!
What's one piece of advice would you give a prospective patient of Jaqueline Ho at Reproductive Partners Medical Group (Ivy Fertility Network clinic)?
Feel free to ask her questions or bring up anything of concern. She seems to really care and wants the best for her patients. I felt no judgement (even when I felt like I was asking or saying something stupid).
During treatment, were you treated like a number or a human with Jaqueline Ho at Reproductive Partners Medical Group (Ivy Fertility Network clinic)?
Dr Ho is super-sweet! She shows that she genuinely cares for her patients. Each time I saw her, she asked how I was feeling and was always open to answering any questions I might have.
Describe the protocols Jaqueline Ho used in your cycles at Reproductive Partners Medical Group (Ivy Fertility Network clinic) and their degree of success.
In my treatment I was prescribed Menopur, Gonal-f, Cetrotide, and C-Leuprolide. I started off with the first two listed meds, as Dr. Ho evaluated each visit my body's response, she adjusted as needed. I have a mild case of PCOS and many, many, many follicles. I was worried that I would be completely bloated, uncomfortable, and totally in pain, but I think Dr. Ho's decision to prescribe what she did, and adjust accordingly made all the difference.
Describe your experience with your nurse at Reproductive Partners Medical Group (Ivy Fertility Network clinic). (Assigned nurse: Allie (not assigned to her, but saw her most frequently) )
The nursing staff is great! They generally follow-up day-of, to give updates on lab results, or medication changes or any thing else that they may have been looking into on my behalf. Sometimes it can be a challenge to get in touch with them- usually you have to call the front office and they have the nurse call you back in the afternoon.
Describe your experience with Reproductive Partners Medical Group (Ivy Fertility Network clinic).
Strengths: They are open seven days a week, and if you need, you can contact the on-call doctor. Weakness: Sometimes it can be a challenge to get in touch with them- usually you have to call the front office and they have the nurse call you back in the afternoon. Sorting out the payment with my insurance was a bit of a challenge and a little unclear to me (still is). I guess I'll see when the bill comes...
Describe the costs associated with your care under Jaqueline Ho at Reproductive Partners Medical Group (Ivy Fertility Network clinic).
Approx. $1,500 (insurance covered most of the egg freezing, but not the anesthesia/anesthesiologists) $405 for medications

Dr. Ho was great overall...was very reassuring and transparent about everything regarding our case and procedure...did get conflicting info from her about the risks of ICSI...wanted to do embryo freezing. I’m 37...lab doesn’t do batch egg retrieval, they do it according to your natural schedule
[Reproductive Partners Medical Group] open 24/7, 365 days. Even when the front office isn’t open, there’s someone there at the lab...lab is on site. They use desktop incubators, not big box...use low oxygen...had a different nurse every time. Most of them were great...Some nurses def provide more helpful info than others, so it was a bit of a hit or miss.
How was your experience with Jaqueline Ho at Reproductive Partners Medical Group (Ivy Fertility Network clinic)?
Dr. Ho was great overall. She was very reassuring and transparent about everything regarding our case and procedure. I did get conflicting info from her about the risks of ICSI compared to the videos I watched on FerilityIQ, so I’m not sure who to believe, but ultimate we went with natural insemination to be safe.
What's one piece of advice would you give a prospective patient of Jaqueline Ho at Reproductive Partners Medical Group (Ivy Fertility Network clinic)?
As with any doctor. I would still do my research and ask questions. She was great at asking questions but didn’t necessarily offer any extra info. I think she doesn’t want to overwhelm patients so if you want to know every detail like me, it’s important to speak up.
During treatment, were you treated like a number or a human with Jaqueline Ho at Reproductive Partners Medical Group (Ivy Fertility Network clinic)?
She was very attentive and always answered my questions. When I had questions during a blood test and she wasn’t there, she made sure to call me back. She also personally called me after the egg retrieval to make sure I was recovering well.
Describe the protocols Jaqueline Ho used in your cycles at Reproductive Partners Medical Group (Ivy Fertility Network clinic) and their degree of success.
We wanted to do embryo freezing. I’m 37 and originally didn’t have the highest AMH, but it was because I had been on birth control for a long time. The AMH numbers eventually went up naturally which was great. This lab doesn’t do batch egg retrieval, they do it according to your natural schedule. So I went in on day 13/14 of my cycle so that they could confirm that I ovulated. Then I started taking estradiol to suppress the growth of the eggs so that not just one big one grew. I came in again on day 3 or 4 of my period to check on the eggs. Then they started me on the procedure to grow the eggs. I was on Clomid (100mg), Gonal (300ml), and Menopur (150units) for the whole time. Then I started Cetrotide (.25mg) about midway. Then Novarel for the trigger shot. I went in every 2-3 days to check on the growth of the eggs. Dr.Ho did all of these. She gave me an estimated update every time for when she thought the egg retrieval might be. When time came for the egg retrieval, she actually got more eggs than expected.
Describe your experience with the nursing staff at Reproductive Partners Medical Group (Ivy Fertility Network clinic).
I had a different nurse every time. Most of them were great, but I did have a nurse that was super grouchy and didn’t want to print out an updated calendar for me which was annoying. I would’ve preferred to have the same nurse every time but I understand that it doesn’t really make that much difference since Dr.Honis overseeing everything. Some nurses def provide more helpful info than others, so it was a bit of a hit or miss.
Describe your experience with Reproductive Partners Medical Group (Ivy Fertility Network clinic).
I asked a lot of questions about their lab and all the answers were great. They’re open 24/7, 365 days. Even when the front office isn’t open, there’s someone there at the lab. They do take 2 weeks off for the holidays where they don’t do procedures but otherwise they’ll do egg retrievals 7 days a week. The lab is on site. They use desktop incubators, not big box. They use low oxygen. Their success rates are not the highest in LA, but higher than most in the South Bay Area.
Describe the costs associated with your care under Jaqueline Ho at Reproductive Partners Medical Group (Ivy Fertility Network clinic).
We luckily had progeny, so everything was covered after we met our deductible.
What specific things went wrong at Reproductive Partners Medical Group (Ivy Fertility Network clinic)?
  • Lost paperwork
  • Provided conflicting information
Describe the specific things that went wrong at Reproductive Partners Medical Group (Ivy Fertility Network clinic).
It took a while for them to find the paperwork that my previous clinic sent. I had to get personally involved and called multiple times before they found it. There were some issues with the prescriptions but I’m not sure if it was the nurse or pharmacy’s fault. They use Alto for prescriptions, which I eventually switched to, and it was generally great but Alto sent different amounts of the prescription than was originally prescribed bc they staggered it into multiple deliveries which was weird.

Success w/ Doc Too early to know
Dr. Ambartsumyan is knowledgeable, helpful, clear with explanations, and has a witty sense of humor as well. She answered all of my questions thoroughly. I did not get to meet with her beyond my consultation thus far, but I would recommend her to future patients...can speak fast and go through her explanations quickly
The nursing staff at Reproductive Partners Medical Group are kind, compassionate, and courteous. I typically see a different nurse each time I go depending on their availability. They also do a great job of responding promptly to messages left on voicemail...sees A LOT of patients since they're one of the only fertility clinics in the area, which can make it feel a bit like a fertility "mill". However, they do their best to treat each patient with care and compassion, and in a timely manner.
How was your experience with Gayane Ambartsumyan at Reproductive Partners Medical Group (Ivy Fertility Network clinic)?
Dr. Ambartsumyan is knowledgeable, helpful, clear with explanations, and has a witty sense of humor as well. She answered all of my questions thoroughly. I did not get to meet with her beyond my consultation thus far, but I would recommend her to future patients.
What's one piece of advice would you give a prospective patient of Gayane Ambartsumyan at Reproductive Partners Medical Group (Ivy Fertility Network clinic)?
The consultation goes quickly, so make sure to come prepared with questions ahead of time and take notes because Dr. Ambartsumyan can speak fast and go through her explanations quickly. Also, there are multiple steps to remember during the IVF process, so asking for a written timeline/calendar would be helpful.
During treatment, were you treated like a number or a human with Gayane Ambartsumyan at Reproductive Partners Medical Group (Ivy Fertility Network clinic)?
Dr. Ambartsumyan was kind, funny, knowledgeable, and kept the conversation light-hearted. She answered all questions and explained the process in detail, but also had to go over everything somewhat quickly. However, this was likely due to having a large patient caseload since my previous doctor had just left the practice and Dr. A had to take on several new patients as a result. Since my consultation, I, unfortunately, have not seen Dr. A during my visits to the clinic and have been treated by other doctors or nurses.
Describe the protocols Gayane Ambartsumyan used in your cycles at Reproductive Partners Medical Group (Ivy Fertility Network clinic) and their degree of success.
Prior to seeing Dr. Ambartsumyan, I completed three IUI cycles with the clinic. They had me take Clomid during all three cycles for 5 days in a row to stimulate the follicles prior to IUI treatment. During the second round of IUI, I was also given a trigger shot to stimulate ovulation. During my consultation with Dr. A, she recommended that IVF would be the next best option since the three rounds of IUI did not produce the desired results. I am currently in the process of IVF treatment.
Describe your experience with the nursing staff at Reproductive Partners Medical Group (Ivy Fertility Network clinic).
The nursing staff at Reproductive Partners Medical Group are kind, compassionate, and courteous. I typically see a different nurse each time I go depending on their availability. They also do a great job of responding promptly to messages left on voicemail. The appointments are typically quick, so I have not had much opportunity to establish rapport or a connection with the nursing staff, but they have always been kind and responded to all questions/requests. One thing I had to request that would have been helpful for them to provide is a visual timeline/calendar of appointments during the IVF process and what to expect during each appointment so that I can plan ahead.
Describe your experience with Reproductive Partners Medical Group (Ivy Fertility Network clinic).
Reproductive Partners Medical Group sees A LOT of patients since they're one of the only fertility clinics in the area, which can make it feel a bit like a fertility "mill". However, they do their best to treat each patient with care and compassion, and in a timely manner. The wait times can be long if you go later in the morning (I have waited for 45 minutes to an hour for a five-minute appointment before), but they can get you in and out pretty quickly if you go in the early mornings as soon as the clinic opens. They are quite efficient, but their quickness can also make it difficult to have enough time to process all of the information given and be prepared to ask questions in the moment. I have left wondering about what my next appointment would entail, or how much the cost of each appointment would be until I was done with it and went to the cashier. When you call the clinic, you get the receptionist, who then has to transfer you to the nurses' voicemail where you leave a message. If you aren't available to pick up their phone call, the nurse usually leaves a detailed voicemail, but you may end up playing some phone-tag. Overall, I have had a great experience with RPMG, but could have benefited from additional consultation from my doctors through the IUI and IVF treatments. For doctors and nurses who do this for thousands of patients, it seems like a normal process that doesn't need additional thought, but for someone going through it for the first time, extra support could really help.
Describe the costs associated with your care under Gayane Ambartsumyan at Reproductive Partners Medical Group (Ivy Fertility Network clinic).
Ultrasound appointments typically cost $180/appointment; $20 for an ovulation test; $95 for bloodwork; between $26,000-27,000 for the full IVF treatment.
Describe Gayane Ambartsumyan's approach to eSET (elective single embryo transfer) vs. multiple embryo transfer at Reproductive Partners Medical Group (Ivy Fertility Network clinic).
I did not receive much information about this as I am not far along enough in the IVF process. However, Dr. Ambartsumyan did mention that the clinic typically will do a single embryo transfer rather than transferring multiple embryos.
What specific things went wrong at Reproductive Partners Medical Group (Ivy Fertility Network clinic)?
  • Canceled a cycle due to clinic error
Describe the specific things that went wrong at Reproductive Partners Medical Group (Ivy Fertility Network clinic).
During my first round of IUI, the clinic called to inform me that my partner's lab results for certain tests were missing and that they weren't able to deliver the IUI treatment. This was very upsetting as I was anticipating my IUI treatment the following day. My partner then forwarded all lab results to them and they still said they did not have the test results they needed. Eventually, we were able to work out the issue, but I was originally very disappointed and would have appreciated the call much earlier so that we could have figured it out sooner.

Dr. A[mbartsumyan] always made me feel good. I did not see her all the time, because they rotate and it depends on your cycle and if they are in that day. But she followed my journey closely regardless. She has very involved and always knew what was going on in a given cycle. She asked the right questions, and she was very thorough...I credit her with being able to see that something was off and pointing in the right direction. If she would have been in-network I would have stayed with her as I trust her 100%.
The staff [at Reproductive Partners Medical Group] was nice, overall, but I kept getting emails from different staff and it was hard to know who to communicate for what...Long wait times. Be ready to wait for 1-2 hours past your appointment time. They are usually running behind as they see a lot of people. Their hours are flexible and they are there 7 days a week and usually earlier than their official opening time.
How was your experience with Gayane Ambartsumyan at Reproductive Partners Medical Group (Ivy Fertility Network clinic)?
She knew something was off. I have a VERY low AMH but my follicle count is high, so there is a big discrepancy. At this point in time, my infertility was "unexplained" but because she is very thorough she kept saying she saw something off in my sonograms during my 1st IUI and recommended a Hysteroscopy if it did not take. My insurance covers basic diagnostic tests like Hysteroscopy but not fertility treatments and her clinic was out of network, so I decided to go with my regular OBGYN for the procedure, she could not find anything during the hysteroscopy. I came back to Dr. A for a second IUI and she said it was still there and that if this IUI did not take she recommended we went back in. My insurance later changed to include fertility but I had to go to a different in-network Dr. who knew Dr. A. With the guidance of Dr. A's notes and explanation of what she was seeing That Dr. was able to find a 1cm Sessile Polyp. I am now pregnant, and even if it was not directly with Dr. A, I credit her with being able to see that something was off and pointing in the right direction. If she would have been in-network I would have stayed with her as I trust her 100%.
What's one piece of advice would you give a prospective patient of Gayane Ambartsumyan at Reproductive Partners Medical Group (Ivy Fertility Network clinic)?
Ask questions because no question is too silly and she will respond and explain everything. Listen to her, trust her.

Describe the protocols Gayane Ambartsumyan used in your cycles at Reproductive Partners Medical Group (Ivy Fertility Network clinic) and their degree of success.
We did 3 cycles of letrozole. The first one we had to cancel because I developed Thyroid issues and we had to wait for it to resolve, it took 7 months. In the second cycle, we did an IUI with letrozole and no trigger shot (at my request, but looking back I should have done a trigger). She saw something and we took a break for a Hysteroscopy performed at another clinic. In the 3rd one, we did a natural cycle, as I forgot to take my meds, but I still grew a follicle and ovulated on my own so we tried it. Both failed, probably because of the polyp which was not removed until my 2nd hysteroscopy at yet another clinic.

Success w/ Doc Too early to know
Dr. Huang does his best to make you feel like you are important rather than one of the conveyer belt patients...What distinguishes Dr. Huang from other doctors I've had previously is that he provides you with his cell phone number and actually responds to your questions/concerns quite promptly. A few days after the egg retrieval I landed in the ER and was admitted to hospital where I spent one week...was in contact with the hospital doctors as well as with my worried husband to monitor my treatment/progress. Dr. Huang even came to visit me at the hospital on the day of my release. This definitely made me feel like one in a million.
This clinic [Reproductive Partners Medical Group] is a very popular and busy clinic, and their waiting area is a testament to that. At any given time during morning and/or early afternoon, the place is crowded with lots of people not having place to sit. Sometimes, this business manifests itself in doctors/nurses not being totally familiar with your chart...One of the biggest negative for this clinic is their nursing staff. Rather than being assigned to a particular nurse or a team of nurses, I am being bounced from one nurse to another. As expected, this creates lack of organization, miscommunication and often confusion. Additionally, nurses are almost impossible to reach on the phone even after leaving numerous message. At times it feels like I have a better chance to reach the White House than any nurse at the clinic.
How was your experience with Andy Huang at Reproductive Partners Medical Group (Ivy Fertility Network clinic)?
What distinguishes Dr. Huang from other doctors I've had previously is that he provides you with his cell phone number and actually responds to your questions/concerns quite promptly. A few days after the egg retrieval I landed in the ER and was admitted to hospital where I spent one week. The diagnosis was either a post-retrieval raptured ovarian cyst or a reopening of one of the cuts made during the procedure that resulted in a massive internal bleeding that eventually prompted a blood transfusion. I will spare you the gruesome details and recounting of the excruciating pain I felt, but will say that Dr. Huang was in contact with the hospital doctors as well as with my worried husband to monitor my treatment/progress. Dr. Huang even came to visit me at the hospital on the day of my release. This definitely made me feel like one in a million.
What's one piece of advice would you give a prospective patient of Andy Huang at Reproductive Partners Medical Group (Ivy Fertility Network clinic)?
Understand that Dr. Huang/the clinic in general is very busy and sees a lot of different patients on a daily basis. This does not mean that you will not get Dr. Huang's undecided attention and full expertise even if sometimes he will forget certain things from your chart.

Describe the protocols Andy Huang used in your cycles at Reproductive Partners Medical Group (Ivy Fertility Network clinic) and their degree of success.
I did 3 rounds of IUI with no positive results. However, this was prior to seeing Dr. Huang. I am currently in a process of the first round of IVF. Due to the age factor, genetic testing of the embryos was strongly recommended and obtained. Additionally, Dr. Huang did a mock cycle to do the ERA test which essentially assesses uterine receptivity.

Describe your experience with Reproductive Partners Medical Group (Ivy Fertility Network clinic).
The clinic's definite weakness is the waiting time. Perhaps the appointments should be scheduled with ample time in between them in order to avoid such long waiting time. Additionally, the waiting room in the clinic is relatively small and 4/5 times becomes overcrowded with people not finding place to sit and being forced to stand or to go outside.
Describe the costs associated with your care under Andy Huang at Reproductive Partners Medical Group (Ivy Fertility Network clinic).
I am one of the fortunate ones that have a health insurance covering at least partial cost. What I can state is that my insurance allows for a life time limit of $30K and I was advised that this would be allow me to undergo at least 2 rounds of IVF with, obviously, out of pocket contribution.
Describe Andy Huang's approach to eSET (elective single embryo transfer) vs. multiple embryo transfer at Reproductive Partners Medical Group (Ivy Fertility Network clinic).
I am yet to have this conversation with Dr. Huang. However, from our previous multiple discussions I learned that Dr. Huang strongly prefers single embryo transfer which he explains is less exhaustive on the female body.
What specific things went wrong at Reproductive Partners Medical Group (Ivy Fertility Network clinic)?
  • Failed to call in prescriptions to pharmacy
  • Lost paperwork
  • Failed to call with results
Describe the specific things that went wrong at Reproductive Partners Medical Group (Ivy Fertility Network clinic).
Once again, due to my chart not being assigned to a particular nurse, things would fall through the cracks. When everyone is in charge, no one is in charge. As such, certain medications were not ordered, I was asked to sign the same form at least 3 times, and I had to call to find out test results after patiently waiting for days.

How was your experience with Andy Huang at Reproductive Partners Medical Group (Ivy Fertility Network clinic)?
Dr. Huang is an incredible communicator. He's caring, approachable, knowledgable, and transparent. My husband and I miscarried at 8 weeks and Dr. Huang was unbelievable in how he handled the situation. We felt so much love and support during such a heartbreaking time. We've completed the full cycle with Dr Huang -- from retrieval to transfer to DNC and I have nothing but good things to say about him and his bedside manner.
What's one piece of advice would you give a prospective patient of Andy Huang at Reproductive Partners Medical Group (Ivy Fertility Network clinic)?
If you're looking for someone who truly has your back -- go with Dr Huang.

The nursing staff was very knowledgable about meds and tricks to ease bruising/pain. Some nurses were more empathetic than others, but that is to be expected, I suppose.

[Dr. Andy Huang] Has great bedside manners and shows compassion...good at explaining the process...wish he spent more time on diagnosing my situation versus putting me on the similar protocol months after months...had testing that could have been suggested at the start of our journey that I'm just discovering now
[At Reproductive Partners Medical Group] Staff is nice but there are too many NEW staff floating around that are not properly trained...Poor communication on the nurses end...missed sending my menopure prescription in...would be nice if they had more transparency on costs and visits
How was your experience with Andy Huang at Reproductive Partners Medical Group (Ivy Fertility Network clinic)?
Has great bedside manners and shows compassion. He's good at explaining the process -- however, he lacks a good team to back him up. I had constant cancelled cycles because of lining issues and I wish he spent more time on diagnosing my situation versus putting me on the similar protocol months after months. I had testing that could have been suggested at the start of our journey that I'm just discovering now-- very frustrating!
What's one piece of advice would you give a prospective patient of Andy Huang at Reproductive Partners Medical Group (Ivy Fertility Network clinic)?
BE AN ADVOCATE for yourself. If you are unsure of anything, ASK. Nurses don't know all. Dr. Huang is super busy. Double, Triple - QUADRIPLE CHECK YOUR PROTOCOL AND MEDICATIONS!!!
During treatment, were you treated like a number or a human with Andy Huang at Reproductive Partners Medical Group (Ivy Fertility Network clinic)?
The team did not communicate well with each other. Notes were not documented in detail or staff was not well trained to be detailed! One nurses will say one thing while doctors would say another -- Front desk and billing is a separate department in their own world.
Describe your experience with the nursing staff at Reproductive Partners Medical Group (Ivy Fertility Network clinic).
2024 CHANGED- I asked for an assigned nurse and the nurse told me they only communicate through their portal. That I would have to send a message there and A NURSE (of many nurses there) will get back to me. It wasn't until I complained to Dr. Huang that he assigned a nurse to me.
Describe your experience with Reproductive Partners Medical Group (Ivy Fertility Network clinic).
Staff is nice but there are too many NEW staff floating around that are not properly trained. There's no attention to detail. You really feel like a transaction at this location. Documentation is poor. Communication between doctors and nurses is poor.
Describe the costs associated with your care under Andy Huang at Reproductive Partners Medical Group (Ivy Fertility Network clinic).
Billing was confusing -- sometimes you go in and get charged a certain amount and sometimes you don't get charged. The receipts don't have detail breakdown on what you paid for. Most of the time you are paying for past visits and test results -- but it's hard to track all of that. It would be nice if they had more transparency on costs and visits!

Describe the specific things that went wrong at Reproductive Partners Medical Group (Ivy Fertility Network clinic).
Nurse informed us that we had to pay for pre-surrogacy blood work before we had an egg retrieval completed. They said that FDA requires them to document our blood test to our current egg retrieval cycle. We challenged the nurse/office staff--- and asked WHAT IF we have no viable embryos and we are paying for all the work-up now, if we would get refunded. They pretty much said that is the process if we want to pursue surrogacy. This made no sense as we had discussed with Dr. Huang that we would do an egg retrieval first to see if we had any viable embryos -- then we would decide what route we would go (transfer or surrogacy). Poor communication on the nurses end. This should have not been the case! On top of that - the nurse missed sending my menopure prescription in. I had injections to do that night and noticed that morning only because I had chatted with Dr. Huang and he went through my medication list .... again, a mistake that could have cost me a ruined cycle!!!

Dr. A was highly recommended by a couple friends. She is very nice. I had a different experience and my interactions with her were limited...I rarely ever saw Dr. A myself. I saw 4-5 of the other providers in the office and it almost felt like no one really knew what was going on. A lot of times information was given through the portal or on paper which didn’t really allow for questions by the physician.
I truly did feel like a number at this facility [Reproductive Partners Medical Group]. After a year and half of going there, only one nurse knew my name by sight. I think a lot of people have found success here but if you are on a tight budget and have only one try, I would recommend a smaller clinic where the care can be more tailored to you...This felt like a common occurrence at this office. Miscommunication or lack of communication.
How was your experience with Gayane Ambartsumyan at Reproductive Partners Medical Group (Ivy Fertility Network clinic)?
Dr. A was highly recommended by a couple friends. She is very nice. I had a different experience and my interactions with her were limited. I think I saw her at most 4 times during my time at this office. With my first transfer, the covering provider was the one who went over all of my paperwork. He didn’t explain as much and didn’t seem to want to answer my questions. He just kept recommending to transfer 2 without real explanation. I didn’t see Dr. A until the day of transfer.
What's one piece of advice would you give a prospective patient of Gayane Ambartsumyan at Reproductive Partners Medical Group (Ivy Fertility Network clinic)?
She is a very nice physician and seems to be highly recommended but expect to see multiple providers at each visit. There will be multiple MAs and a few ultrasound techs that you will see more than Dr. A

With my second transfer, I did a mock cycle first. When the nurse was going over instructions, she only gave me papers with instructions. I reviewed it and followed them. When I came back for an ultrasound another nurse asked me for the exact time of my first progesterone injection. I told her it was around 7-8 but she said I needed to know the exact time. She asked why I didn’t know their exact time. I told her I was never told. This felt like a common occurrence at this office. Miscommunication or lack of communication.

Dr. Riestenberg had great bedside manners, she always took the time to answer all my questions. She answered my text messages with care and understanding, she made sure I understood exactly what was happening with my process. I felt cared for and in good hands under. Dr. Riestenberg...Whether I was concerned about the injection area, medical insurance, my FSH and etc. she always kept me calm with a solution and awareness.
RPMG Redondo Beach was a very busy clinic, you are assigned one Dr. but you do not always see your doctor during your visits. But they do their best to ensure that your Dr. will handle you retrieval, transfer or any other important surgeries. The staff are very nice, friendly and helpful. The only thing is that if you have any questions, you would have to leave a message for a nurse to get back to you, they always get back to you usually on the same day. Gina from the call-center is especially helpful, she always listens to your message and reiterate to the nurse instead of sending you straight to the nurses voicemail, I really appreciate that, plus she is so kind and nice!
How was your experience with Carrie Riestenberg at Reproductive Partners Medical Group (Ivy Fertility Network clinic)?
From day one, my husband and I was intrigued and very comfortable under Dr. Riestenberg's care. Even during our consultation, she took the time to draw out how the IVF processes works and was frank with us that IVF was the only factor for us to conceive children as our infertility was MFI specifically non obstructive azoospermia. Dr. Riestenberg was a new doctor at RPMG as the time we were a little skeptical to see her as we wanted someone with more experience but we do not regret our decision at all! Dr. Riestenberg had wonderful bed-side manners, I felt cared for and in good-hands under her guidance. She was able to answer all my questions and she even told me that if there is something bothering me at home and needed her attention to feel free to message her to ease my mind. Whether I was concerned about the injection area, medical insurance, my FSH and etc. she always kept me calm with a solution and awareness. I had two canceled cycles and 1 egg retrieval under Dr. Riestenberg, she canceled my cycles as I wasn't reacting well to the medication and believed that I can do better since I had a good AFC and AMH. For the cycle that we retrieved, I ended up with 14 eggs, 4 blastocysts and 2 Euploids. Today I am pregnant with one of the two euploids thanks to Dr. Riestenberg and also Dr. Ambartsumyan who completed the transfer (Dr. Riestenberg had moved to another state and and clinic by the time I did my transfer). We are forever grateful to Dr. Riestenberg and cannot wait to meet our child! Thank you so much!

The nursing staff was very helpful, they were able to answer all my questions on the same day whenever I had them. If they weren't able to answer me, they would ask the Dr. in charge for the day and get back to me with the answer. The nursing staff was quite large at RPMG about 15 to 20 including the admin/billing staff. I enjoyed the IVF calendars and injection instructions that the nurses provided, it was truly helpful! My favorite nurse at RPMG is Fara, she treats you with respect, so personable and understanding, she was so supportive of my journey, made me feel so welcomed and cared for.

How was your experience with Gayane Ambartsumyan at Reproductive Partners Medical Group (Ivy Fertility Network clinic)?
Dr. Ambartsumyan is amazing at what she does. She made sure she listened to my concerns and previous experience. This is important as a woman of color, trying to get physicians to understand my needs. I did high-stimulation medication at another clinic and shared how I felt. She changed my treatment protocol from the previous clinic, and I had better results. She did her part, eggs fertilized and were frozen on day 5. She encouraged me to do genetic testing because I had a good number of embryos, and she wanted to ensure we had some information on which embryos to transfer. It is costly but was worth the investment emotionally and financially. I couldn’t see it at the time, but she called and explained the importance of it.

Every staff member creates a warm, comfortable, and welcoming patient atmosphere. From the check-in with (Maricela) to the front desk (Olga and Regina), all the nurses, Kym, Alex, Kristin, Chelsea, Marilyn, Amanda, and Mackenzie, are excellent. You can request who you want to see, but they are all great. Ultrasound tech Julie is amazing and knowledgeable. Shavontae is the Physician Assistant, and she is there to answer any questions or concerns. She is a great asset when you can’t get in with your doctor. She knows their protocols. Kat, the phlebotomist, is gentle and cheerful. Farrah is your last stop at checkout, and it is a lot of money to spend, but she will answer all your questions. You will always be met with a smile under a mask and a positive attitude. Sometimes there is a little wait, but it is worth the energy.

She [Dr. Gayane Ambartsumyan] is knowledgeable and recommended IVF right away after 1 natural pregnancy and miscarriage and we did not have the money for IVF...We did 3 rounds of IUI and got pregnant on the first IUI attempt but it resulted in another miscarriage for me... I think they overbook and it takes long time to see the doctor.
It [Reproductive Partners Medical Group] is a busy clinic and with each visit I saw a different nurse. On our 2nd IUI cycle, our blood work had expired and the nurse did not catch that in time so we were not able to proceed and had to wait another month to complete the IUI...It was interesting how the nurses are not assigned to particular patients but can help and see whoever came in for the appointment that particular day. This leaves room for human error.

Make sure the nurses tell you when your bloodwork is going to expire and need to be redrawn at the lab.
During treatment, were you treated like a number or a human with Gayane Ambartsumyan at Reproductive Partners Medical Group (Ivy Fertility Network clinic)?
It is a busy clinic and with each visit I saw a different nurse. On our 2nd IUI cycle, our blood work had expired and the nurse did not catch that in time so we were not able to proceed and had to wait another month to complete the IUI.
Describe the protocols Gayane Ambartsumyan used in your cycles at Reproductive Partners Medical Group (Ivy Fertility Network clinic) and their degree of success.
For 2nd and 3rd IUI took Clomid. Unsuccessful both attempts.
Describe your experience with the nursing staff at Reproductive Partners Medical Group (Ivy Fertility Network clinic).
It was interesting how the nurses are not assigned to particular patients but can help and see whoever came in for the appointment that particular day. This leaves room for human error.
Describe your experience with Reproductive Partners Medical Group (Ivy Fertility Network clinic).
The wait time can be over 1 to 1.5 hours sometimes and I just never know how long I would have to wait. I think they overbook and it takes long time to see the doctor. And when I call I would usually have to leave voicemail in the nurse's inbox and someone will return my call.
Describe the costs associated with your care under Gayane Ambartsumyan at Reproductive Partners Medical Group (Ivy Fertility Network clinic).
Each $550 for day of IUI procedure and $175 per ultrasound visit plus $45 or so for Clomid per cycle. Miscarriage ultrasound was $185, I think.

Describe the specific things that went wrong at Reproductive Partners Medical Group (Ivy Fertility Network clinic).
I felt disappointed when I took clomid and was ready for my second IUI when I found out my husband and my bloodwork had expired the week prior. We were not informed of this information and it cost us money and just stress and undue anxiety.

Dr. Ambartsumyan is smart, caring, and good at her job...I really liked Dr. A, but in hindsight I was not really ever informed on next steps, why things were done the way they were and in what order. I had to make appointments to meet with her in her office, which of course are more $, more time, and would prolong treatment or future cycles bc I had to wait 6 weeks to get those appointments...she is too busy. On several occasions, I made separate consultation appointments with her in order to ask basic questions. Often there wasn't time during appointments to ask questions, or, as is common and human, you think of the question after the fact and getting in touch with her was very difficult.
[Reproductive Partners Medical Group] Nursing staff were effective but stoic. I didn't see much compassion, but I also didn't experience anything negative from them. How was your experience with Gayane Ambartsumyan at Reproductive Partners Medical Group (Ivy Fertility Network clinic)?
Dr. Ambartsumyan is smart, caring, and good at her job. I shifted to her as my primary because I initially saw Dr. Lee, who was never there and not a very good dr-pt communicator. Initially I was almost always scheduled with Dr. Huang, who did not treat me as one of his patients. He talked at me and not to me. I really liked Dr. A, but in hindsight I was not really ever informed on next steps, why things were done the way they were and in what order. I had to make appointments to meet with her in her office, which of course are more $, more time, and would prolong treatment or future cycles bc I had to wait 6 weeks to get those appointments.
What's one piece of advice would you give a prospective patient of Gayane Ambartsumyan at Reproductive Partners Medical Group (Ivy Fertility Network clinic)?
I would recommend to a prospective patient to do your research and demand time for yourself to ask questions.
During treatment, were you treated like a number or a human with Gayane Ambartsumyan at Reproductive Partners Medical Group (Ivy Fertility Network clinic)?
Overall, from the clinic, I was just a number. Dr. Ambartsumyan didn't treat me like that per se, but she is too busy. On several occasions, I made separate consultation appointments with her in order to ask basic questions. Often there wasn't time during appointments to ask questions, or, as is common and human, you think of the question after the fact and getting in touch with her was very difficult. Staff are major gatekeepers. The clinic is too busy. Dr. Huang, the times that I met with him, was dismissive, in a hurry, and made terrible decisions on my behalf at critical times during my treatment, all when Dr. Ambartsumyan was on vacation or otherwise not at the clinic. Additionally, Dr. Huang ordered me a 4th IUI - I know now that that was completely unnecessary and IVF should have been recommended.
Describe the protocols Gayane Ambartsumyan used in your cycles at Reproductive Partners Medical Group (Ivy Fertility Network clinic) and their degree of success.
Dr. A tried several different strategies with me, but I can't tell you what they're called. Prior to requesting Dr. A, I had 4 IUIs. I had rogue follicles that would cause early ovulation. My IUIs gave good information going forward. So, during my first attempt at IVF, I told Dr. Huang (in Dr. A's absence) that I would need a trigger shot. Of course this is weeks into the cycle of medications - injections, pills, etc., He declined and said it wasn't necessary. Of course I prematurely ovulated which ended the IVF cycle. I knew I had ovulated prior to my next appt and told Dr. Huang what had happened and that I knew it would happen. He said, "Oh, that's ok, we'll just turn it into an IUI." After 4 IUIs, I knew this would be futile. After that experience, Dr. A changed her approach. The second attempt was a successful retrieval, but we opted to do genetic testing on our embryos and the lab said they were unhealthy. Then we chose to use donor eggs thereafter.
Describe your experience with the nursing staff at Reproductive Partners Medical Group (Ivy Fertility Network clinic).
Nursing staff were effective but stoic. I didn't see much compassion, but I also didn't experience anything negative from them. They do their job, but it isn't tailored; I feel I was treated like everyone else. That is not a bad thing.
Describe your experience with Reproductive Partners Medical Group (Ivy Fertility Network clinic).
Overall communication isn't good. Although physicians would ask if I had questions, it was the follow up that was poor. You can't expect patients to even know what to ask. I began coming prepared with a long list, and even then sometimes I felt dismissed or that I didn't need to know the answer. I also think the communication is not good between "departments." There were miscommunications or lack of communication between doctors and cryolab (which resulted in delayed treatment as we waited for lab results or actions) as well as mistakes and misses between nurses and office with making sure our paperwork regarding embryos was current and well-documented. After I decided to end treatment, I was treated very poorly by front office gatekeeper when we were still being charged for embryo storage even though we had been told the embryos were unhealthy and we had requested, multiple times, to destroy them. The cost of storage was the least of all costs involved, but it was a matter of being ignored, dismissed, and demanding I pay and then not allowing me to speak to anyone in billing or to my doctor or the lab to help me address/fix the issue.
Describe the costs associated with your care under Gayane Ambartsumyan at Reproductive Partners Medical Group (Ivy Fertility Network clinic).
My insurance covered up to a certain number, but after 4 IUIs, I paid out of pocket for everything except for diagnostic testing.

[Dr. Reistenberg] was very data-driven and very textbook in her treatments...We initially got diagnosed with male factor, as my husband had low sperm count, mobility and motility. Dr Riestenberg suggested doing ICSI...When it came time for transfer, [she] did not believe in many of the tests that I had heard about and wanted to try (ERA, Alice, Emma, ReceptivaDx, natural killer cell testing and immunological testing)...
Most appointments I would wait about an hour before getting seen [at Reproductive Partners Medical Group]....If your physician is not present at the day of your appointment, you will be seen by one of their associates. The doctors there seem to have differing opinions about treatments...Overall, the nurses are not in sync with each other and can use a lot of organizational improvement...
How was your experience with Carrie Riestenberg at Reproductive Partners Medical Group (Ivy Fertility Network clinic)?
Dr Riestenberg was the newest physician to RPMG Redondo Beach when I was her patient. I took the earliest consultation available which was with her in October 2020. Initially I was happy with Dr Riestenberg as my RE because she was very kind, caring and took time to listen and answer all my questions. However as time passed after spending several months as her patient, I began to realize how her short experience affected how she practiced. She was very data-driven and very textbook in her treatments. I knew going into IVF, I wanted to do all the preventative/preparation/mock procedures to ensure the best success for the first round. We initially got diagnosed with male factor, as my husband had low sperm count, mobility and motility. Dr Riestenberg suggested doing ICSI which we for sure wanted to do. I got 21 eggs retrieved but only 1 made it to blast stage, which was incredibly disappointing. I wanted to do a second round to bank more embryos and asked how we can achieve better results. My husband researched Zymot and I brought it up to Dr Riestenberg. She brought it up to the lab director but said PICSI was better for us in being even more selective with the sperm. It did result in much better results, retrieving 28 eggs and 6 making it to blast. It did make me wonder why she did not suggest PICSI to us in the first round since she knew we were dealing with male factor. When it came time for transfer, Dr Riestenberg did not believe in many of the tests that I had heard about and wanted to try (ERA, Alice, Emma, ReceptivaDx, natural killer cell testing and immunological testing). She said that the only procedure she recommended for me prior to transferring was a hysteroscopy, which we did that came out normal. We proceeded with a modified natural cycle which failed. This resulted in the loss of my only female embryo which I cannot describe how painful that was. Dr Riestenberg chalked it up to just not having luck on our side that time and said that there's a high amount of success after 3 euploid transfers and suggested doing the exact same protocol for the second attempt. We did that and second transfer failed as well. After this, she still thought a 3rd attempt wouldn't be a bad idea but I was adamant that something needed to change at this point. She suggested either a laparoscopy to look for silent endometriosis, which was she said was more clinically proven than doing a ReceptivaDx biopsy. I opted for the biopsy and wanted to do an ERA at the same time. Results came back as positive for high levels BCL6 which suggested silent endometriosis. The treatment she suggested for that was either 2 months of Lupron Depot or 2 months of birth control. I started on the birth control but after 3 weeks I decided to switch to a different clinic.
What's one piece of advice would you give a prospective patient of Carrie Riestenberg at Reproductive Partners Medical Group (Ivy Fertility Network clinic)?
If you feel strongly about doing certain testing, push for it as she will most likely be skeptical of it if there is not much data supporting it.
During treatment, were you treated like a number or a human with Carrie Riestenberg at Reproductive Partners Medical Group (Ivy Fertility Network clinic)?
Dr Riestenberg is great at answering all questions in a kind, caring and thorough manner.
Describe the protocols Carrie Riestenberg used in your cycles at Reproductive Partners Medical Group (Ivy Fertility Network clinic) and their degree of success.
For my first stim cycle, I primed with Estrace then was on 2 vials of Menopur and 300 IU of Gonal-F daily until trigger. I triggered with Lupron and Cetrotide. 21 eggs were retrieved with my first cycle but only 1 embryo made it to blast stage. For my second stim cycle, we followed the same protocol but added Omnitrope to the priming stage and continued until trigger. That round yielded 28 eggs and 6 made it to blast. For the transfer cycles, we used a modified natural which meant I was not on any meds during my follicular phase. I was monitored every few days and triggered with HCG when the dominant follicle became large enough. Then I started on 1mL of progesterone in oil until the transfer and until blood HCG test. I did this transfer protocol twice and both times resulted in a negative pregnancy test.
Describe your experience with the nursing staff at Reproductive Partners Medical Group (Ivy Fertility Network clinic).
The nursing staff all have their own ways of doing things and that can cause a lot of confusion for the patients. For example, some nurses provided a detailed calendar of my protocol however when something needed to be shifted, another nurse would replace that calendar with Word-doc-like written instructions. Another nurse didn't provide documentation at all and only told me verbally. There was a time when I did not switch to the proper dose of a medication because a nurse did not inform me on time. One nurse told me that all patients must have hysteroscopies before transfers while another nurse told me they are optional and up to the patient. Overall, the nurses are not in sync with each other and can use a lot of organizational improvement.
Describe your experience with Reproductive Partners Medical Group (Ivy Fertility Network clinic).
There is always a long wait at this clinic. Most appointments I would wait about an hour before getting seen. People's time are valuable and I think its disrespectful to constantly make your patients wait that long. They should not be overbooking or taking on new patients if they can't even handle their current load. If your physician is not present at the day of your appointment, you will be seen by one of their associates. The doctors there seem to have differing opinions about treatments.
Describe the costs associated with your care under Carrie Riestenberg at Reproductive Partners Medical Group (Ivy Fertility Network clinic).
Even with my insurance, there were many out of pocket expenses. I paid about $16K out of pocket for two stim cycles and two transfer cycles. Expenses included medication, anesthesia, surgical facility fee, PGS testing and testing (Receptiva and Igenomix).
Describe Carrie Riestenberg's approach to eSET (elective single embryo transfer) vs. multiple embryo transfer at Reproductive Partners Medical Group (Ivy Fertility Network clinic).
Dr Riestenberg was a big supporter of only transferring one euploid embryo per transfer and I agreed with her in this regard.

I thought the doctor [Carrie Wambach] was nice granted, I usually saw someone else during my check ups so I never had the opportunity to get much of a feel for her but she seems alright. In other clinics, I’d see my doctor almost on every visit. This clinic, you’re never quite sure who you’re going to see...respected my decision for a multiple embryo transfer...
They [Reproductive Partners Medical Group] are so disorganized...told me to stop taking a medication they never prescribed to me...repeatedly asked me to do labs that have already been completed. I honestly don’t feel like any of them remember me when I come in...Office Staff on edge...aren’t assigned a nurse or care coordinator. You can email a general email but it’s random on who will get back to you. The whole IVF process here felt very detached.

The doctor was fine and I have no complaints about her. This review is simply about the disorganisation and crazy wait times. I thought the doctor was nice granted, I usually saw someone else during my check ups so I never had the opportunity to get much of a feel for her but she seems alright. In other clinics, I’d see my doctor almost on every visit. This clinic, you’re never quite sure who you’re going to see. Which I really don’t care as long as I’m not waiting hours for my appointment
What's one piece of advice would you give a prospective patient of Carrie Wambach at Reproductive Partners Medical Group (Ivy Fertility Network clinic)?
She seems like a nice doctor so I’d suggest that she find another clinic to work at. The patient sat scores will bring down the clinic and physician ratings.
During treatment, were you treated like a number or a human with Carrie Wambach at Reproductive Partners Medical Group (Ivy Fertility Network clinic)?
This review isn’t about the doctors at the clinic. I’m rating this clinic poorly because of the disorganisation and wait times. I’ve had IVF a handful of times and always get seen within 20 minutes of my scheduled time. At this clinic, I’ve waited between 1-2.5 hours for a simple ultrasound and/or blood work. They are so disorganized that they told me to stop taking a medication they never prescribed to me and they have repeatedly asked me to do labs that have already been completed. I honestly don’t feel like any of them remember me when I come in. I asked them to replicate my previous cycle where I was successful and they forgot to prescribe some of the meds. Some of their staff can be rude, which I don’t blame them for because the office is a total cluster. There’s never enough seats to accommodate the patients so you see people waiting in the hallway and outside. I have a friend who used this clinic 3 years ago and she said she had the same issues back then.
Describe the protocols Carrie Wambach used in your cycles at Reproductive Partners Medical Group (Ivy Fertility Network clinic) and their degree of success.
I asked for them to replace my previous cycle. They forgot to prescribe some of the medications so my cycle was partially a shadow of just what my previous doctor did
Describe your experience with your nurse at Reproductive Partners Medical Group (Ivy Fertility Network clinic). (Assigned nurse: You don’t get assigned to a nurse or care coordinator. )
This is the first clinic I’ve been to where you aren’t assigned a nurse or care coordinator. You can email a general email but it’s random on who will get back to you. The whole IVF process here felt very detached.
Describe your experience with Reproductive Partners Medical Group (Ivy Fertility Network clinic).
Weaknesses: Horrible wait times (expect 1-2 hour waits) Disorganized (they will take you in for blood work and you wait another 1.5 hours for an ultrasound. They will ask you to repeat labs you’ve already done. They will tell you to discontinue meds they never prescribed to you) Office Staff on edge (front office staff are noticeably on edge but it’s understandable with a full wait room and patients waiting in the hallway and outside. Everyone seems so flustered, I would be surprised with the disorganisation is there isn’t a handful of medical errors) No patient flow Positives: Redondo beach location (there’s limited clinics in the South Bay) Nice doctors (I believe the doctors are good and this clinic can turn around if they bring in a consultant or get a software product to manage their wait times/patient flow)

My experience with [Dr. Ambartsumyan] was limited. There was an initial consultation, emailing, and the IUI which last a couple of minutes. The ultrasounds were usually conducted by someone else. To get a better sense at the beginning what you can expect in terms of questions and support during the process, what is reasonable to ask of her.
During treatment, were you treated like a number or a human with Gayane Ambartsumyan at Reproductive Partners Medical Group (Ivy Fertility Network clinic)?
I would say that my experiences in the clinic made me feel like a number, sometimes rude nurses or what felt like indifferent staff. My initial consultation with Dr. Ambartsumyan was positive. I felt she was gentle during the IUI process. After my first IUI which did not result in pregnancy, and some back and forth over email, her last email response was to do another IUI even though she had previously noted that my Hsg test showed possible uterine polyps. I felt that there was not a lot time to discuss my concerns and the message was just to keep trying.
Describe the protocols Gayane Ambartsumyan used in your cycles at Reproductive Partners Medical Group (Ivy Fertility Network clinic) and their degree of success.
I remember Dr. Gayane saying that because my AMH was decent, we were not in a huge rush. She did break down the statistical average for getting pregnant at my age. I don't totally remember why she recommended IUIs over IVF or if when it's a unexplained infertility if it's standard to start there, also because it is less expensive.
Describe your experience with the nursing staff at Reproductive Partners Medical Group (Ivy Fertility Network clinic).
I remember dealing with different people at different times. There was a miscommunication issue where we missed our chance to do our IUI during our first round of CLOMID. Dr. Gayane waived the cost of one visit when I requested that. I did not find the nursing staff particularly warm. It was more of straightforward processing of whatever procedure was needed.
Describe your experience with Reproductive Partners Medical Group (Ivy Fertility Network clinic).
They seem to have a lot of experienced doctors, and a solid success rate. I did not feel the receptionist or nurses were warm or supportive. I simply felt that I was being processed like the next person. Because this process is so emotionally wrought, I realized I needed to work in a place that offered that extra love.
Describe the costs associated with your care under Gayane Ambartsumyan at Reproductive Partners Medical Group (Ivy Fertility Network clinic).
I paid $55 for office visits, $105 for ultrasounds. Between visits and drugs, the cost of an IUI was about $800, which includes ultrasound, insemination and sperm wash the day of, and previous visits.

Dr A [Ambartsumyan] explained every procedure clearly, took time to learn the specifics of my case and answered any questions I had. She even gave me her cell number to ask for anything, though I never really had to... I went for 2 consultations covering IUI, and later IVF when it was clear that IUI was not working. She was not treating me at every office visit of my IUIs, but she would always ask me how it’s going and to keep my head up when she saw me in the hallway.
Awesome nursing staff! I saw many different nurses at this clinic [Repro Partners], but everything was so seamless, it seemed like I was seeing the same person every time. They knew my history, answered my questions consistently and helped me if I had messed something up or didn’t understand something. They must be keeping very good records, and kudos for that!...The waiting room is clean, there’s coffee and tea and the staff is nice. The main downside is that the waiting times are always very long; expect to spend over an hour just for a simple ultrasound that was scheduled in advance.

It’s very encouraging during such frustrating times to know that the doctor cares.

We were TTC for 5 years (Female 37, Male 42) when we decided to try a treatment. Dr A suggested IUI, to increase the chances of the egg and sperm to meet. She put me on 5mg Letrozole, starting on CD 5, for 5 days. I had minor aide effects from the meds, but only the first time. They explained how to do LH surge test at home, and to call them as soon as I detected it to have the IUI the next day. The same protocol was used one more time, and after that a substitute doctor decided to start the stimulation on CD 3 instead of 5. Out of all 4 cycles I produced 1 egg/follicle two cycles, and 2 eggs/follicles the other 2 cycles. Alas, no pregnancies, so I had to move on to IVF :(
Describe your experience with the nursing staff at Reproductive Partners Medical Group (Ivy Fertility Network clinic).
Awesome nursing staff! I saw many different nurses at this clinic, but everything was so seamless, it seemed like I was seeing the same person every time. They knew my history, answered my questions consistently and helped me if I had messed something up or didn’t understand something. They must be keeping very good records, and kudos for that!
Describe your experience with Reproductive Partners Medical Group (Ivy Fertility Network clinic).
Although my IUI treatments here were unsuccessful, I trust the staff and clinic and always get treated as a person when I interact with staff here. The waiting room is clean, there’s coffee and tea and the staff is nice. The main downside is that the waiting times are always very long; expect to spend over an hour just for a simple ultrasound that was scheduled in advance. Once you get in you will be treated very nicely, and everything seems to be done very professionally, but you have to wait for it. It’s worth it though!
Describe the costs associated with your care under Gayane Ambartsumyan at Reproductive Partners Medical Group (Ivy Fertility Network clinic).
I did only IUIs here, which were about $800-900 per cycle. I only took oral medicine for stimulation (Letrozole), so no significant extra costs there. The IUI procedure itself is $525, and I had 2-3 ultrasound visits for $160 each. Fairly reasonable, but not a particularly effective procedure. The IVF cycle on the other hand was going to cost me about $25,000, so at that point I started looking for more affordable clinics.
Describe Gayane Ambartsumyan's approach to eSET (elective single embryo transfer) vs. multiple embryo transfer at Reproductive Partners Medical Group (Ivy Fertility Network clinic).
I have not done IVF here, but as I understand they strongly prefer to implant 1 embryo at a time.

I appreciated that Dr. Huang himself got us from the waiting room and took us directly to his office to begin his consultation...also performed my ultrasound to check my follicle count versus a technician or nurse...took the time to get to know what was important to me and my husband as people versus patients...provided us with a number to reach him personally at any time...started the process of freezing embryos for a potential gestational carrier...
[Reproductive Partners Medical Group] is very clean and well organized. I appreciated that each patient was assigned a care coordinator...excellent job of maintaining patient privacy...The only thing we didn't hear back from the office on was the results of my husband's semen analysis. How was your experience with Andy Huang at Reproductive Partners Medical Group (Ivy Fertility Network clinic)?
My husband and I have started the process of freezing embryos for a potential gestational carrier with Dr. Huang. He is a very thoughtful and thorough doctor. He was also very kind. he greeted us in the waiting room and took us back to the office. He performed my ultrasound versus a technician. He did an excellent job of explaining the process of IVF and embryo freezing. He drew out the process and a timeline for us to take home. The visuals really helped us understand the explanation of our future plan of care. He also took the time to thoughtfully answer all of our questions. He was also clear on any potential risk factors due to the IVF process.
What's one piece of advice would you give a prospective patient of Andy Huang at Reproductive Partners Medical Group (Ivy Fertility Network clinic)?
I would tell them they are in great hands and to bring a notebook and folder to their appointment.

I have only seen Dr. Huang for an initial consult and follow-up testing. We will begin our first cycle this summer. We have done initial blood work-ups and semen analysis. So far he has recommended IVF for a gestational carrier.
Describe your experience with your nurse at Reproductive Partners Medical Group (Ivy Fertility Network clinic). (Assigned nurse: Jennifer)
The nursing staff is excellent. They are all very thorough, walking you through their role and the role of everyone in the office. I appreciated that I was provided with my nurse's direct phone and email. Everyone in the office is very responsive. I never waited more than a couple of hours to hear back with answers to any questions.
Describe your experience with Reproductive Partners Medical Group (Ivy Fertility Network clinic).
The clinic is very clean and well organized. I appreciated that each patient was assigned a care coordinator. The clinic also did an excellent job of maintaining patient privacy. Anything related to our care was talked about in a separate room or office with the doctor or our care coordinator. The only thing we didn't hear back from the office on was the results of my husband's semen analysis. Once I asked, however, we had our results later that day.
Describe the costs associated with your care under Andy Huang at Reproductive Partners Medical Group (Ivy Fertility Network clinic).
So far we had a $26 fee for our initial consultation and $260 for sperm analysis. They have given us an itemized cost break down for IVF, which I appreciate. The bulk of our expenses will come when we do a cycle this summer.

[Dr. Ambartsumyan] listens to your concerns and will make adjustments in treatment if reasonable. She is always able to provide the latest research information about all the topics I ask about...She started me on 50mg of clomid with ultrasound monitoring throughout my cycle to monitor follicle count and size. When I did not surge on my own, she prescribed a trigger shot to make me ovulate and we had timed intercourse
[nursing staff of Reproductive Partners Medical Group] Some were very informative when I had questions. Others gave incorrect information and confused both my husband and I...In general, most appointments never start on time. This is a very busy clinic so while it is frustrating, I've learned to just expect to wait an hour before being seen...$250 for initial consult, $150 per ultrasound appointment, $500 per IUI.

Dr. A is always very welcoming and friendly. She makes a point to get to know us as individuals and remembers what we talked about between appointments. She has the most positive outlook which is extremely helpful during this experience.
Describe the protocols Gayane Ambartsumyan used in your cycles at Reproductive Partners Medical Group (Ivy Fertility Network clinic) and their degree of success.
Because I had been tracking my temperature and testing for LH surge for 8 months I had enough data to share with Dr. A for her to suspect I had anovulation. She started me on 50mg of clomid with ultrasound monitoring throughout my cycle to monitor follicle count and size. When I did not surge on my own, she prescribed a trigger shot to make me ovulate and we had timed intercourse. 2nd & 3rd cycle she increased the clomid dosage to 150mg because my follicles were still slow to grow in the first cycle. Timed intercourse for both these cycles. I had a lot of side effects from the clomid and Dr. A recommended trying Letrozole. I did 2 cycles with 7.5 letrozole with IUIs. Now we are waiting for the COVID-19 situation to improve so we can resume treatment.
Describe your experience with the nursing staff at Reproductive Partners Medical Group (Ivy Fertility Network clinic).
It really depends on the nurse. Some were very informative when I had questions. Others gave incorrect information and confused both my husband and I.

He was never rude to me but whenever I told him how the nurses messed up something, he just showed empathy but did nothing...3 cycle of clomids and 2 cycles of letrozol. Every cycle, I had 3 ultrasound except for the last one (last one they found out I already ovulated so there was no 3rd ultrasound that cycle). Please at least memorize which treatment I was going through and advise nurses not to be rude and mess up doses of my medication and genetics tests. Most importantly, please tell them to communicate more. Their lack of communication made me not want to go to the clinic again. I cannot trust them.

Dr. Huang seemed nice but he probably deals with so many patients that he did not seem to care about me. He told me I was one of the youngest patients at the clinic and I had unexplained infertility. He just put me on clomid for 3 cycles and then on letrozol for 2 cycles. Every time I went to the clinic, I rarely saw Dr. Huang even after I told the clinic I only wanted to see Dr. Huang because all the other doctors there did not really pay attention to which medication I was on or how many cycles I did. Most of them are so rude but there are a few that are nice. They messed up so many things during the 6 months I went there. They are so incompetent that they don't take notes of what I had already said so there is no improvement after I complained about them. They don't communicate enough to convey important information. My husband and I had to retake the genetic screening tests because the nurses ordered different panels for me and my husband. After I found that out, I called them to make an appointment for ultrasound and another genetic test but when I went in, the nurse I saw that day wasn't aware of my situation and she insisted that there was only one type of test even though I already talked to the manager nurse and she agreed that we could retake the tests for free of charge since it was their mistake. There are many other things the nurses messed up but I won't write it here because it will be too long. I already changed the clinics after going there for 6 months. It felt like a huge waste of time and money. I wasn't very stressed that I wasn't getting pregnant but dealing with these nurses was the most stressful thing out of everything.
Describe your experience with Reproductive Partners Medical Group (Ivy Fertility Network clinic).
The nurses don't communicate well. You can never expect improvements from them because you see different nurses every visit (even after I told them I only wanted to see one specific nurse). Some nurses and doctors act like they care about you but I don't really trust them. One of the receptionist is not useful either. My pharmacy needed to verify the dose of my medication so they called the clinic but the pharmacist called me to call them to expedite the process since it was Saturday and they needed the verification before the clinic closed. I called once and the receptionist goes, "the nurse will call them shortly." One hour later, still nothing. I thought the pharmacy forgot to call me so I called them but the pharmacist said still nothing so I called the clinic again and the receptionist said the same thing. It was getting close to noon so I called the clinic again for the third time and I asked the receptionist if I could talk to the nurse and she finally put me through but the nurse didn't know about it and she asked me where my pharmacy was. (I gave my pharmacy info a waaaaay long ago when I first started going to the clinic. They are super disorganized.) Not only the nurses but also the receptionists and the nurses don't communicate well. They gave me so much stress. I would never go back there again.

They ordered different genetic tests for me and my husband and we ended up retaking the tests. The nurses did not aware of the mistake even though I called them in advance and let them know. I don't know if it's the receptionist fault but there was so much miscommunication. The nurse told me I needed to have an appointment for that but I already told the receptionist so I was so mad at the fact that the nurse treated me like a crazy patient who demanded it on the spot. Also, one of the nurses almost order the wrong does (double the dose of what I needed). You can just sit there and trust them. You have to be vigilant.

Dr. Yee approached us from the very beginning warmly and kindly. He always remembered us and our particular situation, which although a large clinic made me feel less like a number...explained everything very thoroughly when we initially went in for consultation...I did feel that my protocol was never explained to me and while it worked out in the end in regards to retrieval numbers, not exactly knowing how or what the stimulation cycle and the meds being used was going to go was a bit frustrating. I had to "trust the process" per say. Any questions I had, I could always ask Dr. Yee or one of the other doctors.
[Reproductive Partners Medical Group] is a very busy clinic, you will feel initially like you are being treated like a number. But the Doctors and staff compassion shines through the chaos and you begin to feel like you are in good hands no matter the outcome. The doctors were friendly but pragmatic and I appreciated the candid responses from everyone on the team. The surgical center was fantastic, all the nurses and anesthesiologist were great. How was your experience with Bill Yee (retired) at Reproductive Partners Medical Group (Ivy Fertility Network clinic)?
Dr. Yee explained everything very thoroughly when we initially went in for consultation. This is good if you are starting from scratch and do not understand the IVF process, for me based on all the research i had done prior- i personally didn't need a full breakdown. It was helpful for my partner though. I did feel that my protocol was never explained to me and while it worked out in the end in regards to retrieval numbers, not exactly knowing how or what the stimulation cycle and the meds being used was going to go was a bit frustrating. I was placed on an aggressive typical antagonist hcg cycle. I believe this protocol was chosen due to what appeared on paper; age diminished ovarian reserve and borderline AMH numbers. In the end, I was an excellent responder despite my age and was able to retrieve, test & freeze far more then what Dr Yee and his colleagues had predicted as a possibility.
Describe your experience with the nursing staff at Reproductive Partners Medical Group (Ivy Fertility Network clinic).
Initially before starting the stimulation protocol, while always great about returning calls, answering questions was a bit like pulling teeth. Once out of the testing "holding" pattern and starting the protocol, the various nurses who treated me were great and encouraging. Their follow-up after each appointment was timely. Everyone was on surface very nice, but kept their professional distance which was fine.

The follow up during the initial infertility testing (with outside lab) was slow. I had to call to update the clinic with my result and ask what the next step was. Outside of stimulation protocol and what I imagine during fresh or frozen transfer, the focus is a little lax.

Dr. Ambartsumyan is very empathetic, caring, and accessible. She gives her patients her personal email and cell phone and encourages them to be in touch with any questions or concerns. She [Dr. Ambartsumyan] has been able to work with me to have a tailored experience through this. We ran a series of tests to eliminate certain risks and get more Information. She was never pushy and let us move at the pace we wanted and supported our decisions as to next steps. She’s highly responsive via email and texts. Love that she also believes in a holistic approach to infertility journey and encouraged us to continue with our acupuncture specialist.
Clinic [Repro Partners] is always full, and you learn to expect an hour delay If you don’t have one of the first appointments. They also aren’t the best with insurance billing and pre approvals. It is however nice that they have the lab and operating room in the same place as consults. ... Several times they have not properly filled out insurance forms and it has cost us going out of pocket for meds and paying for screening not covered by the insurance and later rejected for reimbursement.

Describe the protocols Gayane Ambartsumyan used in your cycles at Reproductive Partners Medical Group (Ivy Fertility Network clinic) and their degree of success.
With DOR we wanted to initially avoid over suppressing with birth control. Unfortunately our first cycle with estrogen priming we developed a cyst and went forward with BC for two weeks before our first retrieval. She did a combination of gonal F, clomid, menopur and Lupron our first cycle. It resulted in 5 eggs retrieved and 2 day 5 blastocysts. As that transfer resulted in a chemical pregnancy, our next cycle she changed it to no BC and started medication early in our cycle. This time we did higher dosage of gonal F, menopur, cetrotide, HGH and our trigger shot. It resulted in a quick growing cycle and retrieved 6 of which 3 were day 5 blastocysts that all tested genetically normal. Before our next transfer we completed an ERA and did additional screening tests and confirmed the MTHFR mutation and high NK cells. While we’re treating for MTHFR with a diff folate supplement, no adjustments have been made for the high NK cells.

Nursing staff is a mixed bag. All are caring but they aren’t all trained the same and have different levels of organization. There have been times where they haven’t properly filled out insurance forms or have tried to give me standard protocol vs doctor requested tailored approach.

Since day one, Dr A. [Ambartsumyan] explained very thoroughly each step and provided all the possible treatments available. Very enthusiastic with positive outcomes making me feel like she is on my team. She helped me connect with other doctors when I needed different treatments. My process is just starting but I see how knowledgeable she is and I trust her. I consider myself very proactive, searching through research articles for treatment.
The clinic [Reproductive Partners Medical Group] is very organize and clean. It is well located and has a parking structure. The clinic has partnered with different labs. Some procedures are cost effective. Cost of treatment is average to a bit below average compared to other clinics in the area.... Very friendly staff. Very helpful when I needed information to fill out grants applications. After each blood test, they call you and explain very carefully the results. Always available when you call them
