This is the most recent data from the CDC. The CDC cautions that it should not be used to compare doctors and clinics. This data represents the outcomes of IVF cycles when using a person's own eggs.
For more information please see our FAQs.
Where you see a “?” on the chart, a clinic has done fewer than 20 cycles in this category and age range, so the CDC says showing percentages from this small data set would be misleading and unreliable.
Dr. Brabec is very knowledgeable and kind. Each time she comes in to the room to do a procedure, she will touch my hands and say something positive and comforting. She has always explained the facts to us during meetings and appointments.
The nurses and staff members [at Reproductive Resource Center] are so personable. They show empathy and show to really care for their patients. Infertility is so hard and their kindness makes tough news or tough times a little easier...They care about our outcome and truly make us feel like family.
How was your experience with Celeste Brabec at Reproductive Resource Center?
Dr. Brabec is very knowledgeable and kind. Each time she comes in to the room to do a procedure, she will touch my hands and say something positive and comforting. She has always explained the facts to us during meetings and appointments. I have always had a large cyst which they started calling an endometrioma. Unfortunately, they worked around it up until my miscarriage, at which time my OB agreed it should come out. It was in fact an endometrioma and could have caused difficulties for us. We are pleased to have it out and want to continue to see Dr. Brabec for our next attempt. The nurses and staff members are so personable. They show empathy and show to really care for their patients. Infertility is so hard and their kindness makes tough news or tough times a little easier.
What's one piece of advice would you give a prospective patient of Celeste Brabec at Reproductive Resource Center?
Ask questions if you don’t understand information. She will break it down better for you and answer your questions as directly as possible. With that being said, communication is key. Don’t leave anything out. That way they can make sure they have the beat protocol or plan to suit you.
During treatment, were you treated like a number or a human with Celeste Brabec at Reproductive Resource Center?
The office staff and doctors have been great. They make an effort to know my name and my plan each time I come in or call. I have never felt like a number at RRC. They even reached out to me after our miscarriage to check in on my family.
Describe the protocols Celeste Brabec used in your cycles at Reproductive Resource Center and their degree of success.
Our original protocol was an IVF microdose protocol with AM menopur and GH. I started with oral contraceptives, prenatal vitamins, DHEA and CoQ10. Once my levels were considered suppressed I stopped the contraceptive and started a daily testosterone patch (5-6 days). I then started microdose of leuprolide once in the AM and once in the PM. Two days later I started Omnitrope in the AM, Gonal-F, Menopur (subcutaneously) and dexamethasone (by mouth). I required about 10 days of ovarian stimulation. Once the ultrasound confirmed there was abdicate follicle count/size, I was scheduled to take the hCG trigger shot so the eggs will be ready for retrieval within 34-36 hours. After retrieval is was prescribed a few medications like a z-pack and a few others I can’t recall. Within three days we had a fresh transfer and I started taking progesterone shortly after. We had eggs that were them frozen so our next try only consisted of a few medications such a leuprolide, oral contraceptive, estradiol by mouth and then vaginally and progesterone. Throughout my protocols, I have been fortunate enough to have had little if any negative reactions to any of the medications. Of course I felt pretty emotional throughout but that was not just the medication. When my ovaries were producing the follicles, I did have a heavy feeling in my uterus but not terribly uncomfortable. Unfortunately, we have gone through two cycles (preparing for our third) and still no baby. We do remain hopeful and positive that our team at RRC will get us there.
Describe your experience with the nursing staff at Reproductive Resource Center.
The nursing staff at RRC is one of a kind in my option. Every single appointment or communication I’ve had with them has been professional, compassionate and accurate. I can honestly say they feel like family (especially during the original process where I was there many times a week for testing and ultrasounds). They are so kind and make it a point to know your name and your case.
Describe your experience with Reproductive Resource Center.
RRC has been wonderful. I was at another clinic before where I felt like a number. I would just be in and out and on my way. At RRC I feel like they care. They care about our outcome and truly make us feel like family. Even when our outcome was heartbreaking, they kept everything very professional yet showed us compassion. They reached out to us after we received back news to check on us and let us know they were there if we needed anything. I just fee so comfortable there. The portal they use is so great. It’s easy to message a many member and they are quick to respond. I get my instructions in writing on the portal as well as my lab results and prescriptions.
Describe the costs associated with your care under Celeste Brabec at Reproductive Resource Center.
We were given several options when we first started the IVF process. One portion was to just pay the specific amount that would entail all aspects of the process (with the exception of the medications). Another option was to spend a little more but if a second try was needed, it would be a little less. I don’t recall every detail but I know we paid $7,000 for the medication (my insurance covers 0% for infertility) and roughly $10,000 to the facility for all appointments, blood draws, ultrasound and most of the retrieval process. I believe we paid an additional $1300 to the hospital for the retrieval/anesthesia. The second try was roughly $750 for medication and $4500 to the facility.
Describe Celeste Brabec's approach to eSET (elective single embryo transfer) vs. multiple embryo transfer at Reproductive Resource Center.
when We were first deciding what to do, our doctor did give us the facts on one versus two or kore embryos. With our original first attempt, we made the decision to transfer one for the safety of myself and the potential baby. Going forward to our second appointment, she again gave ya the facts but seemed more open to the idea of transferring two versus one (we did not have testing done on our embryo day I believe that also played a role in our discussion).
[Dr. Celeste Brabec] uses evidence based medicine which I appreciate however when that isn’t working I find that she doesn’t really look outside the box...asked about adding in a specific medication for my endometriosis and was not given the green light to add that medication until my last transfer
[Reproductive Resource Center] is very well maintained and updated...equipment is new and fancy...front desk staff is organized and can usually get you in for an appointment within a few months...seemed to be high turnover with their nursing staff. The NPs did stay the same though and were pretty thorough during my appointments
How was your experience with Celeste Brabec at Reproductive Resource Center?
She uses evidence based medicine which I appreciate however when that isn’t working I find that she doesn’t really look outside the box. I am a more challenging patient and I felt like I was given the standard protocol every time. She didn’t suggest or recommend supplements or other things that weren’t “proven” to help
What's one piece of advice would you give a prospective patient of Celeste Brabec at Reproductive Resource Center?
Ask a lot of questions and be prepared to do your own research and advocate for what you think you might need, especially as a more complex infertility case
During treatment, were you treated like a number or a human with Celeste Brabec at Reproductive Resource Center?
I was given a standard protocol for my transfers. I asked about adding in a specific medication for my endometriosis and was not given the green light to add that medication until my last transfer
Describe the protocols Celeste Brabec used in your cycles at Reproductive Resource Center and their degree of success.
My egg retrieval meds consisted of menopur, gonal f and cetrotide with a lupron trigger. Which was a standard protocol, I ended up with three genetically normal embryos. My first transfer protocol ended up in a miscarriage at 6 weeks. That protocol included PIO and estrogen with a 2 week lurpolide kit. My 2nd transfer we added lipid infusions, this transfer didn’t implant. My last transfer she added in lovenox and lupron depot shot by my request and it still did not result in a positive pregnancy test

Describe the costs associated with your care under Celeste Brabec at Reproductive Resource Center.
This clinic accepted progeny insurance. Overall my treat would have cost ~ $26,000
Describe Celeste Brabec's approach to eSET (elective single embryo transfer) vs. multiple embryo transfer at Reproductive Resource Center.
I saw Dr. Brabec twice through my process for my first egg retrieval. During my ultrasound, she was kind and explained as she went about the process. She introduced herself to me, provided reassurance, and was honest about the possible results. I saw her again when I was about to go in for my retrieval. She again reassured me about my first time going under for a surgery, told me the expected outcome, and made me feel so much better about the process.
This [Reproductive Resource Center] is absolutely one of the best clinics in the area. They know what they are doing, are very organized, and are easy to contact for questions. The one thing that is a weakness to me is that they batch clients. If they could work around this, I am sure they would - but with only one doctor, batching is a must...Cynthia was my coordinator and Becca Brabec was the main nurse that I saw throughout the process. They are both PHENOMENAL! I can't begin to describe how much I adore both of these women. They made me feel cared for, they empathized with me, and they answered any questions that I had without making me feel stupid.

She is not overly warm and fuzzy but always made me feel like a person who was eventually going to become a Mom. She is very knowledgeable about what your labs and scans will tell her about your retrieval - and you need to trust her/the process.
During treatment, were you treated like a number or a human with Celeste Brabec at Reproductive Resource Center?
This clinic made me feel like I mattered. The staff is incredible and reached out to many times within the process. They knew me by name when I walked in the door to be checked in, knew about my life and asked me how things were going, and were incredibly compassionate.
Describe the protocols Celeste Brabec used in your cycles at Reproductive Resource Center and their degree of success.
Dr. Brabec approached my Stim cycle with an antagonistic approach. We did raise my Gonal F dosage midway through my first retrieval to help grow the follicles.

Describe the costs associated with your care under Celeste Brabec at Reproductive Resource Center.
For ICSI, PGT testing, and a frozen embryo transfer with zymot testing (without meds) the out of pocket price was around $22k I believe. I had insurance and they worked great with them to get things covered. I think I paid $6k out of pocket for round one and they transferred the extra left over to round 2.
Describe Celeste Brabec's approach to eSET (elective single embryo transfer) vs. multiple embryo transfer at Reproductive Resource Center.
From the very beginning, the clinic was very transparent that they prefer to transfer one embryo at a time.
[I saw Dr. Celeste Brabec] for my initial consultation but after that I only seen her at retrieval and transfer days...collected more eggs than they anticipated...was against transferring more than one, so we had to sign a disclosure in regards to transferring more than one...Be prepared not to see much of her after your consultation until your headed in for retrieval and transfers.
[Reproductive Resource Center has] an APP where you can keep in contact with them and review everything...estimated cost was around $22K with everything that was expected to be done. The only thing that wasn’t included was the gene testing
How was your experience with Celeste Brabec at Reproductive Resource Center?
I seen her for my initial consultation but after that I only seen her at retrieval and transfer days. I would have liked to seen her more but maybe this is how it’s supposed to go. I am part of an IVF support group and have heard others say they seen their Drs more.

Whenever I had an issue with the pharmacy or anything they were always right on it to get it resolved for me. You could tell the staff genuinely wanted success for you and were hurt when things didn’t go accordingly.
Describe the protocols Celeste Brabec used in your cycles at Reproductive Resource Center and their degree of success.
I honestly don’t recall everything. To start she checked out my tube that I had left and determined it should be removed. She said that the fluid that was in the tube could leak and cause me to loose the baby. She stated IVF is too expensive so it would be best to remove it, therefore I was only left with one ovary and now IVF is my only option. I always met the marks with each goal they wanted me to be at. She collected more eggs than they anticipated. We only had one delay and it was due to the weather. We did PGT testing and she was shocked that me and my husband both came back negative for everything. So that gave us great hope but she did remind me that with having a negative blood type and my husband being positive it could bring some issues with pregnancy. Our first transfer failed so on the second we transferred two embryos and that failed as well. Our third transfer with our last embryo took but miscarried unfortunately. Therefore we’re out of embryos and now have to start the process all over again.
Describe your experience with the nursing staff at Reproductive Resource Center.
They were phenomenal!!! The ladies were a blessing, so nurturing and loving. They definitely are working in the right field because of the compassion they have for us women there.
Describe your experience with Reproductive Resource Center.
I love that they have an APP where you can keep in contact with them and review everything. Even though we’re going through IVF we still have our daily lives that we have to tend to. The only thing I would advise with any of the IVF clinics is if they know the patient is receiving bad news that they don’t have them go in front of others to do bloodwork. It’s so hard to hide those emotions when you’ve been told there’s no heartbeat. After I was told I had to go to another part of the clinic to do blood work and then that was it. I was advised to follow up with my OB back home to monitor my HSG level to make sure it goes down and options for removing the embryo.
Describe your experience with your monitoring appointments at Reproductive Resource Center.
I never waited long, they were pretty quick and painless.
Describe the costs associated with your care under Celeste Brabec at Reproductive Resource Center.
Out of pocket after insurance coverage I spent roughly $10K with the help of a loan from my 401K. Currently paying that back over a 5 yr span. The estimated cost was around $22K with everything that was expected to be done. The only thing that wasn’t included was the gene testing, we had to pay that company directly. I know that I had a form somewhere that breaks it down but have unfortunately lost it. When I had my MC and knew we would be having to start all over again I had discarded a lot of things as part of my healing.
Describe Celeste Brabec's approach to eSET (elective single embryo transfer) vs. multiple embryo transfer at Reproductive Resource Center.
Our Dr was against transferring more than one, so we had to sign a disclosure in regards to transferring more than one. After so many years of trying and having so many setbacks we just wanted to increase our odds but that didn’t work. I’m the only one of my siblings that has had issues with conceiving.
Dr Brabec was amazing to work with and I hope to be able to see her again for another egg retrieval! I do wish I could see her more often but I know how busy her clinic is. She was extremely compassionate the whole time we worked with her! Very positive but truthful...She doesn’t allow more than one embryo transfer bc of the risks and I appreciate that.
Now that the [Reproductive Resource Center] clinic has moved I have nothing but great things to say! It’s a beautiful facility!! The front desk could be a more a knowledgeable when you walk in but they are very nice. Overall, I love RRC and I’m so thankful I’ve had the opportunity to work with them!...I LOVE BRABEC’S NURSES!!! Dr. Brabec spoke with compassion. She wants her patients to be successful but she is honest with her knowledge on what she thinks the outcome may be. She truly cares and when I had a miscarriage she acted like she was just as upset. I love her!
Describe the protocols Celeste Brabec used in your cycles at Reproductive Resource Center and their degree of success.
Because I have a low AMH I was on the highest doses they allow. I usually stim for 12 days and retrieve on day 14 I believe. I had my first egg retrieval may 2017 which resulted in 1 blast that PGS tested normal. And that ended with a live birth 3/30/2018. My second egg retrieval was July 2019 with 3 blasts that were PGS tested normal. FET Transfer 10/2019 ended in miscarriage with stopped growth of baby, FET transfer 2/3/2020 ended with live birth 10/8/2020 and FET transfer 4/4/2022 ended with a negative pregnancy test. I do believe hgh (Omnitrope) has been a game changer in my protocols!

Describe the specific things that went wrong at Reproductive Resource Center.
2 days before my first eggs retrieval I did have a nurse call and ask if we were considering a sperm donor. Completely out of left field. I told her we were doing ICSI so I didn’t think that mattered? She then said oh well you are probably right. I do not think they allow this nurse to make phone calls anymore and I know she’s not allowed to use the portal to email patients.
We really didn't see Dr. Brabec much, but when we see her every time, she talks really fast and covered lots of things. She does gave us many options and professional views about how we chose the choice. She did diagnose why I have infertility...just be aware that she talks fast and needs jog down lots of information. Just prepare for the questions and she would answer for you...
I think the clinic [Reproductive Resource Center] is very professional and organized...However, the medication instructions sometimes are confused and might have minor errors and my husband found it and pointed it out. Also, sometimes the minor communication is disconnected but overall are really good...the Univfy program will not cover second egg retrieval until you finished first round

The nurse called us quite often and checked on us to see if we need anything else. The nurse (Cynthia) even called us back after her off duty to answer our questions.
Describe the protocols Celeste Brabec used in your cycles at Reproductive Resource Center and their degree of success.
Before egg retrieval, I was on birth control pills to make sure I will be ovulated on time. Then we used menopur, centritide, gona, and other pills to be ready for the egg retrieval. She didn't give me a lot of does on each medicine in case I will have side effect. In the end, it was 17 eggs in my uterus, but only 12 retrieved, 9 mutual, 7 fertilized, 3 embryos created. After PGT test, only 1 normal. We transfer the first time and successfully to be pregnant.
Describe your experience with your nurse at Reproductive Resource Center. (Assigned nurse: Cynthia)
Cynthia did pretty good job on checking us and call us on time. She even answer our questions after hours. She noticed that we lived 2 hours away and suggested us to stay in a place before egg retrieval day. We feel that they take care us a lot. However, I hope it can be more cleared on the instructions of how much should injected for doses.

I think the clinic is very professional and organized. I feel I choose the right clinic and the result is pretty well. I will think to go again for my second child if I need to. However, the medication instructions sometimes are confused and might have minor errors and my husband found it and pointed it out. Also, sometimes the minor communication is disconnected but overall are really good. The program that I attend in there needs to attend until the transferred failed to have another egg retrieval, so just be aware the Univfy program will not cover second egg retrieval until you finished first round.

We enrolled the unifvy program, so the total costs plus the medications are 31,000 dollars.

The medication instructions printed wrong before the egg retrieval day but mu husband found it and corrected it. We gave them call the other day and they did apologize for that.
I felt like Dr. Brabec was just doing her "prescribed protocol" for someone with PCOS and didn't want to take the time to figure out if anything else was wrong...It was not unique to me at all...After our failed embryo transfer I suggested I could have endometriosis and she basically disregarded the suggestion and said it's because you didn't have your embryos tested...
It was extremely difficult to get ahold of the nurses [at Reproductive Resource Center]. I would leave messages and send messages in my portal and it just felt like I was an inconvenience to them. That said, the nurses are much more compassionate than Dr. Brabec and when I did speak with them I had good interactions... How was your experience with Celeste Brabec at Reproductive Resource Center?
As a patient of Dr. Brabec, at the beginning I felt very confident in what she was suggesting. My husband and I both appreciated her up-front and honest personality. I don't remember the overall strategy for my cycle, but I know it is probably exactly what she prescribes for every woman she sees that has PCOS. It was not unique to me at all.

I should have known from the beginning that I would not enjoy my experience at this clinic. After we scheduled our first retrieval and I was getting ready to order all my medicines they called me to tell me that week wouldn't work and it would be almost TWO MONTHS before I could get in again. I was extremely frustrated. The entire time I was a patient, I just felt like a number. After the first failed embryo transfer I had a call with Dr. Brabec to talk about what might have gone wrong, she was very dismissive of all my questions and just said we can't know what went wrong because you didn't transfer your embryos - so glad I opted to do that consultation over the phone rather than drive 3.5 hours to hear her tell me that. After my last failed embryo transfer, I viewed my lab results almost 10 hours before they took the time to call me and tell me I wasn't pregnant. I recognize that's a difficult call, but a little frustrating. Communication skills are not something this clinic excels out.
Describe your experience with your monitoring appointments at Reproductive Resource Center.
It was always difficult for me to schedule monitoring appointments because I live so far away.
Describe the costs associated with your care under Celeste Brabec at Reproductive Resource Center.
NA - my costs were covered by my insurance provider through fertility benefits.
Describe Celeste Brabec's approach to eSET (elective single embryo transfer) vs. multiple embryo transfer at Reproductive Resource Center.
When we first met with Dr. Brabec she said she would absolutely not recommend a multiple embryo transfer for me and acted like she never does them. After our first transfer failed, she strongly suggested we transfer our remaining two embryos because of their grading, which was extremely discouraging to me.
[Dr. Brabec] is a straight shooter-she won't sugar coat anything and provide you with false expectations...She was always very friendly and willing to answer any questions my husband and I had. She would joke around too so it helped me to relax...She may not ask how your job is going or if you have any siblings (the small talk) but she is a good doctor that has good success rates for pregnancy and that is all I cared about

How was your experience with Celeste Brabec at Reproductive Resource Center?
Celeste is an excellent doctor who knows her stuff. She was able to get me pregnant on my very first IVF transfer and I felt confident all along that it would work but also knew it wasn't guaranteed. She is a straight shooter-she won't sugar coat anything and provide you with false expectations. I know for some people, they prefer to be told only positive things and want their doctor to be super optimistic but Celeste will be real with you on what your chances are, what the risks are, and what could go wrong. I wasn't seeing Celeste to make a friend...I was here to get pregnant and it worked! If you want someone who knows their stuff and has experience, she is the way to go!
What's one piece of advice would you give a prospective patient of Celeste Brabec at Reproductive Resource Center?
As I mentioned, she is honest and won't sugar coat things. She will tell you the goods, the bad, and the risks involved. She is direct and to the point if that is what you like. I was here to get pregnant so that was perfect for me. She may not ask how your job is going or if you have any siblings (the small talk) but she is a good doctor that has good success rates for pregnancy and that is all I cared about :)

Birth control to suppress ovaries. Then began Gonal-F and menopur and then triggered with Cetrotide for Egg retrieval. Transfer protocol was estrogen (by mouth 2x a day and 1x vaginally at night) and PIO injections once a day. Also taking baby aspirin and prenatal

Dr. Brabec too the time to sit down and thoroughly go over my ultrasound, my husband's analysis, possible treatment options, and what happens next. I was able to have every one of my questions answered with an open and honest answer. She was very sweet and showed she really cared about our future...I came out of my appointment with a clear treatment plan and what I needed to do next..
Very private clinic that made us feel safe while we were discussing our health history and treatment options. Brand new building and beautiful office. The only weakness [of Reproductive Resource Center] I can say is that they have limited hours. Ultrasounds and blood work usually are done before 10am. And some of our labs had to be taken offsite through another company...IUIs with insurance were around $630. IVF was not covered at all with our insurance, so that was quoted at $20,000.
How was your experience with Celeste Brabec at Reproductive Resource Center?
I couldn't have asked for a better RE. She was so thorough in her reasons for each treatment option and success rates for them. She was honest with her answers even though some were obviously not what we wanted to hear as a couple (needing to wait until next cycle since I was at high risk for multiples). She's a fast talker, but if you ask to have something repeated, she is happy to. I came out of my appointment with a clear treatment plan and what I needed to do next. Even the fine details like insurance coverage were gone over, and I am so grateful for that.
What's one piece of advice would you give a prospective patient of Celeste Brabec at Reproductive Resource Center?
Do your research beforehand. She will ask what you are hoping to do now or in the near future and then you get to discuss from that starting point. And don't forget to write your questions down and the answers she gives you. She's a fast talker, but knows her stuff!

Describe the protocols Celeste Brabec used in your cycles at Reproductive Resource Center and their degree of success.
I was hoping to do an IUI the first cycle I had while under Brabec's care. Since I have multiple follicles developing, she said they would not do the IUI this cycle and will try again during the next. What a bummer to hear, but I appreciated her honesty and not putting my at risk for having triplets (or more!) with all the follicles I had. So our next plan is to try 3 IUIs - the chances of IUIs working after 3 failed attempts does not get any better, so we would move on to IVF after that.
Describe your experience with your nurse at Reproductive Resource Center. (Assigned nurse: Jessica)
We had Jessie as our NP and could not have asked for a better one! She was so knowledgeable and answered every question I had. She was compassionate while learning about our miscarriage and just an all around pleasure to work with. Very well organized and created a Plan of Care for us that has step by step instructions for me and my husband.
Describe your experience with Reproductive Resource Center.
Very private clinic that made us feel safe while we were discussing our health history and treatment options. Brand new building and beautiful office. The only weakness I can say is that they have limited hours. Ultrasounds and blood work usually are done before 10am. And some of our labs had to be taken offsite through another company.
Describe the costs associated with your care under Celeste Brabec at Reproductive Resource Center.
IUIs with insurance were around $630. IVF was not covered at all with our insurance, so that was quoted at $20,000.
Dr. Brabec is known for her results, not her bedside manner. We saw her once for the consultation and she spoke so quickly that our heads were spinning, and I have a fair understanding of human anatomy...We perhaps have seen her 2-3 times in the 2 year process. I do not feel she is compassionate or patient with her clientele and it is difficult to ask her questions as she does appear in a hurry to get to the next part of her day.
This clinic [Reproductive Resource Center] is very difficult to get someone on the phone, and they promote use of the patient portal. The portal is quite limiting but they are fairly quick to answer questions (24 hours or less). I do also think the clinic is quite disorganized...there were different nurses assigned for each stage and it was difficult to know who was keeping track of your case.
How was your experience with Celeste Brabec at Reproductive Resource Center?
Dr. Brabec is known for her results, not her bedside manner. We saw her once for the consultation and she spoke so quickly that our heads were spinning, and I have a fair understanding of human anatomy. She is known for her results but it is also known she won't take cases that she may not be successful with, in order to prevent her numbers from going down. We perhaps have seen her 2-3 times in the 2 year process. I do not feel she is compassionate or patient with her clientele and it is difficult to ask her questions as she does appear in a hurry to get to the next part of her day. Again, we came to this clinic because of the successes, not the warm and fuzzy bedside manner.
What's one piece of advice would you give a prospective patient of Celeste Brabec at Reproductive Resource Center?
To advocate for what you want and strive to be informed.
During treatment, were you treated like a number or a human with Celeste Brabec at Reproductive Resource Center?
The initial consult definitely made us feel like a number. She wrote down percentages for our ability to do this on our own and they were clearly the same percentages she writes down for everyone with fertility issues. I do feel she was trying to sell IVF, but was appreciative of how clear she was in the inefficiency of IUI.
Describe the protocols Celeste Brabec used in your cycles at Reproductive Resource Center and their degree of success.
Prior to any treatment, we had to undergo an HSG and SHG as well as a trial transfer prior to meds. Prep meds for retrieval included approx. the following: testosterone patches 1x per day for 5 days with microdose leuprolide injections 2x per day (10 units), menopure 225 iu injection, omnitrope 25 unit injection, Gonal-F 375 injection, Dexamethasone 1 mg. These meds did vary, as I started with testosteron patches for 3 days, then added microdoes leuprolide for 2 more, then d/c'd testosterone and began the other injections. After an US and blood test to make sure eggs were 14+mm, took a Novarel trigger injection at approx. day 12. I had to increase my doses after day 3 of this process as I was not responding initially. I chose to continue higher doses rather than cancel my course. After retrieval, blastocyst stage, freeze and PGS, and 2 periods, I began 2ml progesterone injections daily, estradiol 2 mg (3x per day, will start with 2x per day and up to 3) and low dose aspirin. The transfer occurred part way through this regimen and the meds continue for 2 more months if the embryo is successful.
Describe your experience with the nursing staff at Reproductive Resource Center.
The nursing staff is mostly great. There is one in particular that can be quite short with you. Everyone is kind and compassionate. However, there were different nurses assigned for each stage and it was difficult to know who was keeping track of your case. They were fairly disorganized in that, I had to ask for directions and possible dosage changes as this wasn't forthcoming ahead of time.
Describe your experience with Reproductive Resource Center.
The clinic does perform most procedures first thing in the morning which is a plus to a working person. The consults are always late morning which can be quite inconvenient but the labs and ultrasounds are early and this is helpful.
This clinic is very difficult to get someone on the phone, and they promote use of the patient portal. The portal is quite limiting but they are fairly quick to answer questions (24 hours or less).
I do also think the clinic is quite disorganized and I understand it wasn't quite this bad a few years ago (as my referral came from a friend who had success with them). However, I chose this clinic based off of her referral and their success with her. So far we have had success with this clinic if looking at numbers only, and sometimes that's all you need to bring home a baby!
Describe the costs associated with your care under Celeste Brabec at Reproductive Resource Center.
Initial consult covered by insurance somewhat, $110. Blood tests and ultrasounds for diagnostic purposes covered by insurance. HSG and shg semi-covered by insurance $110. Practice transfer $175 out of pocket. Hospitalization for retrieval and anesthesia $1200. Univfy program $20,000. Meds for retrieval $8,000. Meds for FET transfer and continuing after FET $900.
Describe Celeste Brabec's approach to eSET (elective single embryo transfer) vs. multiple embryo transfer at Reproductive Resource Center.
We did not discuss those options, probably because we have multiple embryos to choose from and have only had one transfer at this time.
I love Dr. Brabec! She diagnosed me with PCOS at the first visit upon reviewing my bloodwork and confirming via ultrasound...She is not warm and fuzzy, but she knows her stuff! We feel that we are in expert hands...She is very up to date on the latest regarding fertility and PCOS, which we greatly appreciate...Go into your appointment with a list of questions you want to ask, because she is an extremely intelligent, fast talker with a lot of information to share.
[Reproductive Resource Center] front office staff is outstanding, but especially Robin. She is extremely sweet and always seems to genuinely care about us and our situation...the nurse practitioners call back the same day and are very sympathetic. They also do a good job of having you see the same couple of nurse practitioners throughout your treatment...The waiting room always has peaceful music, and the wait times are never bad at all.
How was your experience with Celeste Brabec at Reproductive Resource Center?
I love Dr. Brabec! She diagnosed me with PCOS at the first visit upon reviewing my bloodwork and confirming via ultrasound (I had 60 antral follicles - yikes!). This was a huge relief! I had already seen two different doctors (my primary and a nurse-midwife at an OBGYN office), who dismissed the very same lab results, which showed an extremely high AMH of 12, as "normal". Dr. Brabec shoots very straight with us. At our first appointment, she explained that we have about a 2% chance of conceiving per month with no assistance, an 8% chance with IUI and meds, and a 70% chance with IVF. She is very up to date on the latest regarding fertility and PCOS, which we greatly appreciate!

Dr. Brabec's front office staff is outstanding, but especially Robin. She is extremely sweet and always seems to genuinely care about us and our situation. They also do a good job of having you see the same couple of nurse practitioners throughout your treatment.
Describe the protocols Celeste Brabec used in your cycles at Reproductive Resource Center and their degree of success.
Dr. Brabec recommended we start with letrozole (Femara) and IUI, because even with a good semen analysis, IUI doubled our chances of success over letrozole alone. She also gave us the option of letrozole with timed intercourse, which we decided to start with since it was the least invasive option. We ended up doing 2 cycles of letrozole + timed intercourse and 2 cycles of letrozole + IUI. The first month, I took 0.5 mg dexamethasone (she said due to elevated DHEA-S levels common in PCOS patients, which indicate adrenal testosterone production) daily for the first half of my cycle and 2.5 mg letrozole on cycle days 3-7 to help me ovulate, then came in for a follicle ultrasound on day 11. My follicles hadn't grown enough, so I was told to bump up to 5 mg letrozole and take it for a few more days in that same cycle, then come in for another ultrasound. My follicles had grown appropriately by the next ultrasound, so I was instructed to trigger a couple of days later with Ovidrel at home and have timed intercourse at least every other day. She prescribed progesterone inserted vaginally for the second half of my cycle to improve success rates. The rest of our cycles, I took 5 mg letrozole (instead of 2.5) on cycle day 3-5, but the rest of the meds were the same. On my last two letrozole cycles, we decided to add IUI to boost our chances, since I had ovulated perfectly each time with no pregnancy. Both times, the IUI was done the morning after I was instructed to do my Ovidrel trigger.
Describe your experience with your nurse at Reproductive Resource Center. (Assigned nurse: Ashley and Jessie)
Ashley and Jessie are both great! Between the two of them, they have done almost all of my ultrasounds, my HSG, and one of my IUIs. They return calls within the same day or the next morning (if you call too late in the afternoon).
Describe your experience with Reproductive Resource Center.
I honestly can't think of any weaknesses of this clinic. The waiting room always has peaceful music, and the wait times are never bad at all. As I said above, the front desk staff (especially Robin!) are amazing!
Describe the costs associated with your care under Celeste Brabec at Reproductive Resource Center.
Our care is entirely out of pocket with literally no insurance or negotiated rates. Ultrasounds are $288, and three out of four months we have only had to do one. The HSG was about $850, including facility charges. Diagnostic blood tests were about $600 through LabCorp (Dr. Brabec prefers Quest, but Quest offers no discount for uninsured patients). Meds were around $50 for Ovidrel, $10 for letrozole, $30 for progesterone, and $5 for dexamethasone, which came to roughly $100 per cycle for meds. The two times we did IUI, it was about $400 extra. Overall, our letrozole + timed intercourse cycles were around $400 each and our letrozole + IUI cycles were about $800 each - all with literally no insurance. I have gotten a quote from Attain for IVF (because this is our next step), and they offer a package through RRC with up to 2 retrievals and unlimited fresh/frozen transfers until you have a take-home baby for $17800 (no refund), not including meds or anesthesia charges.
Describe Celeste Brabec's approach to eSET (elective single embryo transfer) vs. multiple embryo transfer at Reproductive Resource Center.
We haven't reached this point yet, but our IVF consultation is next week.
We are currently in the middle of our first IVF treatment and so far, have been very pleased with Dr. Brabec. She is warm, informative and we have seen her for every appointment so far, except for 1. She does talk a bit fast in general but has always slowed down when we ask questions and takes her time to answer...Don't be afraid to slow her down from talking so fast and ask all your questions...We are currently planning for our first egg retrieval and will do genetic testing on our embryos ( ICSI will be done) before doing a frozen transfer. They knew right away we would be doing a frozen transfer due to our history of multiple miscarriages and my PCOS diagnosis.
From our first consultation appointment to our current appointment timeline [at Reproductive Resource Center], my husband and I have always been addressed by our names at each appointment without hesitation. Describe your experience with your nurse at Reproductive Resource Center. (Assigned nurse: Rebecca Brabec)
Everyone from our primary nurse, to our IVF coordinator and other nurses we have come in contact with have been amazing. They are very good about communicating via phone and updating our personal online portal. We have had our results from any appointments updated on our portal within a few hours or the same day and I have never had to wait long for questions to be answered.
Describe your experience with Reproductive Resource Center.
Don't be fooled by the building they are currently in, they are having new offices built at the moment. They have been very upfront about that. Their lab is right connected to the clinic as well, which is nice you don't have to go far.
Describe Celeste Brabec's approach to eSET (elective single embryo transfer) vs. multiple embryo transfer at Reproductive Resource Center.
Dr. Brabec is a very kind, funny and VERY knowledgeable individual! She would crack jokes, which my husband loved, always give us very detailed information and never let us leave or hang up the phone until ALL of our questions were answered. At one point, I had a LEEP procedure done and had an odd reaction to the anesthesia. During my egg retrieval, Dr. Brabec took ever precaution to ensure that I was going to make it through the surgery with NO complications
In my experience, I have not waited more than 10 minutes in the waiting room [at RRC], and the nursing staff in the waiting room area are nothing short of amazing. They are kind and knew me by name. I cannot think of one weakness to share about this clinic. I know that you will love Dr. Brabec!... I had two separate nurses. Sarah was over my time during the egg retrieval and JJ wIll be during the transfer. They are both VERY kind and compassionate. 99% of the time the responded to my messages and calls within the same day! They stay closely connected to Dr. Brabec and are very thorough.

It was so relaxing(during a time that can be VERY stressful) knowing that she cared so much!
What's one piece of advice would you give a prospective patient of Celeste Brabec at Reproductive Resource Center?
Dr. Brabec does talk pretty quick! I have learned that this is because she is very knowledgeable-she definitely knows her stuff!!! But never feel like you can’t ask her questions if you need clarification! She is very kind and will answer any questions you have.
During treatment, were you treated like a number or a human with Celeste Brabec at Reproductive Resource Center?
My husband and I had previously undergone treatment at another clinic where we were treated like a number.(sat in the waiting room for hours, called us by the wrong names, overlooked my husbands infection, etc.) when we visit Dr. Brabec, she treats us as individuals, knows our names, jokes with us, and is kind. Her staff is the same. They always answer the phone with kindness, message back quickly, and create real conversation with you.
Describe the protocols Celeste Brabec used in your cycles at Reproductive Resource Center and their degree of success.
In the other clinic that I had received treatment at, we went through several months of medications and times intercourse, and 6 cycles of IUI. We were ready to move on to IVF when the clinic was shut down due to several embryologist leaving at the same time. We went to RRC and Dr. Brabec knowing that we wanted to jump in to IVF. We had already done the necessary testing so we were able to start the cycle. I went through 8 days of medication. Injections and every other day I had my blood draw to look at levels. Once they were high enough, i went in for an ultrasound and had SEVERAL follicles. Dr. Brabec knew this was going to be the outcome. I went in for the Egg Retrieval where she retrieved 20 eggs! My husband provided sperm and our eggs underwent ICSI. She suggested this because my husband has low morphology so this would ensure the best fertilization rate. She was right! All 20 eggs fertilized! In the end we had 10 healthy embryos develop. We did choose to have genetic testing done on each and now we have 7 extremely healthy embryos awaiting transfer!!

Describe the costs associated with your care under Celeste Brabec at Reproductive Resource Center.
I do not feel like I need to be specific because this is personal but for our entire IVF cycle it was under $30,000. My body does react well to the medications however, so I did not have to pay as much in medications as some others may! They do have programs for you to pay slightly more and receive more cycles but we knew we would not need that.
Describe Celeste Brabec's approach to eSET (elective single embryo transfer) vs. multiple embryo transfer at Reproductive Resource Center.
I have had a LEEP procedure done, so it is suggested that we only do a single embryo transfer. However, because of my age(27 and healthy), Dr Brabec suggested we only do a single transfer anyways because of the higher success rate.
Since I’m a little older and my hormones is as not as good as the younger mom to be she suggested to have two embryo transfer and she asked me if that’s what we prefer...Dr Brabec explained everything on what’s best for us. She can be a fast talker but she gave you all the resources that you needed to understand...She is so gentle. I feel very comfortable under her care.
The RRC clinic is highly recommendable. They are very welcoming. The receptionists are very friendly. They remember your name. Whenever I go for my appointment I don’t have to wait too long. I’m very much comfortable of the people there. They treat you and care for you. The doctor/nurses discussed everything that you needed to know. There’s no wrong questions for them because they want you to understand everything.
How was your experience with Celeste Brabec at Reproductive Resource Center?
I didn’t regret I picked Dr Brabec’s clinic. I got the most care that I needed during my procedures. Dr Brabec explained everything on what’s best for us. She can be a fast talker but she gave you all the resources that you needed to understand. The steps of procedures can be overwhelming as a first time but that’s normal. They will give you a step by step lists and guide you along the way. Dr Brabec is the best. She makes you feel comfortable through the whole process.

Dr Brabec can talk fast and sometimes it overwhelms you. Please don’t hesitate to ask questions the details you don’t understand and she will explain it to you without hesitation. There’s resources of information they will provide for you please read them. As a first time on this procedure can be overwhelming.

Menstruation timing cycle. They had me taking birth control pills and told me when to stop taking them to control and get the accurate and exact fertile period where they can tell when to in plant the sperm during IUI and in plant the embryo during my IVF procedure.
Describe your experience with the nursing staff at Reproductive Resource Center.
Nurses in RRC are very helpful throughout the whole process. I should say they’re excellent on everything they do. They are very friendly and if you have some questions they’re there to help every step of the way.

In our case if we didn’t have a good insurance that will cover the 80 percent of the costs we would not be able to afford it.
Describe Celeste Brabec's approach to eSET (elective single embryo transfer) vs. multiple embryo transfer at Reproductive Resource Center.
She has a very wise approach on transferring the embryo. Since I’m a little older and my hormones is as not as good as the younger mom to be she suggested to have two embryo transfer and she asked me if that’s what we prefer. In case the other one won’t survive there’s a spare. We are perfectly fine with it since we don’t mind having twins if both survive.
Dr. Brabec, is a very kind and honest person. I would say that some of her strengths are that she knows all her fertility information. She is a very compassionate person and tries to show you every aspect of treatment and what option could possibly work best and why. For example, in our case she recommended ivf because my husband was low on sperm count and motility but also my eggs were not in the best shape. I would say her weakness is that she talks really fast, sometimes it can come across as rushing through but I think it’s just the way she speaks. Overall I felt safe and in good hands. She always tried her best to make sure I was feeling good and that the treatment was going according to schedule.
I think the only issue with the clinic [Reproductive Resource Center] might be the room they have for husbands to provide a sample. We felt like it was too close to the clinic area. The clinic overall was very clean and in good shape. All staff is very kind, patient and very respectful. ... Sarah [nurse] was absolutely phenomenal! Anytime I called with questions she was happy to assist me and point me in the right direction. Always explained everything and made sure that I understood treatment options. I felt like she took care of me and was always checking up on me after my appointments. She was very kind!

Dr. Brabec and her staff were always ready to help. Anytime there was a problem, they would try to help fix or would find an appropriate solution. Both nurses and doctors always took the time to explain everything and answer any questions I had. They always knew who you were and didn’t rush through calls or consultations.

Describe Celeste Brabec's approach to eSET (elective single embryo transfer) vs. multiple embryo transfer at Reproductive Resource Center.
Dr. Brabec prefers to only transfer 1 embryo at a time due to the potential for twins and what not. However, if you have two embryos she will take the patients wishes into consideration. On my case we had two viable embryos and she allowed us to transfer both.
I felt like nothing was personalized. The way he [Dr. Phipps] practices is using numbers and not on a case by case bases. He never changed my treatment with many failures even when I asked him to. I rarely saw him when there. My husband would always have to tell me not to cry and hold it until we leave and he would explain...
Always remembering small details about us and making me feel like they aren't just taking my money with no results. They [Reproductive Resource Center] talk to you about everything they are doing and communicate the process. If I had a question the portal was usually answered within 24 hours...each IUI cost around 695- our insurance doesn't cover fertility but they coded the ultra sounds so they would be covered for us
How was your experience with William Phipps (retired) at Reproductive Resource Center?

Don't go in wanting a warm and fuzzy experience with him. It will be very matter of fact. The nurses are the best and so kind though.
During treatment, were you treated like a number or a human with William Phipps (retired) at Reproductive Resource Center?
Dr. Phips is very to the point and doesn't explain things in laments terms. Very broad strokes and not on a case by case matter
Describe the protocols William Phipps (retired) used in your cycles at Reproductive Resource Center and their degree of success.
0.25 letrozole trigger shot and the progesterone until pregnancy test everytime

Describe your experience with Reproductive Resource Center.
Dr. Phips not changing anything through our process has been a weakness. He is also not a big fan of natural path directions so I have had to hid that part of the process from him. The nurses are the strength along with Dr. Brabec in the office with him. I don like that they would get me in and out in a timely manor so I could be at work by 8:00 am
Describe the costs associated with your care under William Phipps (retired) at Reproductive Resource Center.

What specific things went wrong at Reproductive Resource Center?
Failed to call with results
Describe the specific things that went wrong at Reproductive Resource Center.
It was the first IUI- I had no idea what to do and they didn't send the directions until it was one day late for the letrozole
[Dr. Brabec] brings light to some dark times...Sometimes she is running late but that is due to making sure every patient feels heard and understands completely...orginally thought we would be able to proceed with an IUI...However, on the day of the IUI we were unable to do it due to low sperm count so she suggested timed intercourse. Unfortunately it did not work.
The staff [at Reproductive Resource Center] is all very pleasant and easy to work with...makes you feel welcome from the minute you walk in to the minute you leave...I feel they do a great job at making sure everyone understands which can lead to appointments running behind sometimes...spent over $700 on the IUI. Since we were unable to do it, they put that money towards another SA and office visit.
How was your experience with Celeste Brabec at Reproductive Resource Center?
Dr. Brabec is a wonderful doctor. She brings light to some dark times. She goes over information fully and makes sure everyone understands. She is always willing to answer questions and makes time for every patient.
What's one piece of advice would you give a prospective patient of Celeste Brabec at Reproductive Resource Center?
She is a large personality. If you like more mundane doctors, she might not be for you.
During treatment, were you treated like a number or a human with Celeste Brabec at Reproductive Resource Center?
Dr. Brabec is very personable and goes in depth in what the expectations can be. Sometimes she is running late but that is due to making sure every patient feels heard and understands completely.
Describe the protocols Celeste Brabec used in your cycles at Reproductive Resource Center and their degree of success.
Celeste orginally thought we would be able to proceed with an IUI. She prescribed a cycle of clomid and letrizole. An US was performed and there was a viable egg, so a trigger shot was done. However, on the day of the IUI we were unable to do it due to low sperm count so she suggested timed intercourse. Unfortunately it did not work.
Describe your experience with your nurse at Reproductive Resource Center. (Assigned nurse: Jessica)
The first nurse we saw was very compassionate and always answered questions via the portal in a timely manner. She gave me hope that a IUI would still be possible. However, the second nurse we saw was very blunt and direct, which i prefer. She let us know that IUI could be done but would likely not work due to sperm so we would be better off doing IVF.

The staff is all very pleasant and easy to work with. I feel they do a great job at making sure everyone understands which can lead to appointments running behind sometimes. The staff makes you feel welcome from the minute you walk in to the minute you leave.
Describe the costs associated with your care under Celeste Brabec at Reproductive Resource Center.
My husband and I spent over $700 on the IUI. Since we were unable to do it, they put that money towards another SA and office visit. Our initi visit and consultation was $500. When we get a loan, our IVF was quoted between $10-$14k.
Expect for her [Dr. Brabec] to talk quickly- not because she is rushing you or in a hurry, just because that's the way her brain works. Do not be afraid to ask her to slow down or go over something again- she will do so gladly...Diagnosed with PCOS at first visit. Had 2 rounds of clomid with OBGYN with negative OPK's prior to first appointment with Dr. Brabec. She prescribed metformin to be taken daily, letrozole used on days 3-7. Also prescribed dexamethasone and used Ovidrel for trigger shot prior to IUI. Did 3 IUI's with this protocol, all resulted in a negative pregnancy test.
Office staff [at Reproductive Resource Center] was wonderful. I really appreciated the billing specialists- they helped significantly with determining insurance coverage and payment. Scheduling was easy. Office staff communicated seamlessly with the physicians and nurses. Everyone was very nice and welcoming, they made you feel important...Primary point of contact was nurse coordinator...You do not always see your primary nurse at appointments- I believe this is how you get fit in for appointments so quickly and easily. I was pleased with all nursing staff. Communication was very open and calls were answered quickly.
How was your experience with Celeste Brabec at Reproductive Resource Center?
Was very knowledgeable and eager to help. Gave choices and recommendation but ultimately let the patient decide on treatment plan. She does talk quickly and is sometimes hard to follow, however she will re-explain if asked- nursing is also very good about following her and asking if everything was understood.

Describe the costs associated with your care under Celeste Brabec at Reproductive Resource Center.
Before insurance each IUI cycle was approximately $1,000 using letrozole and Ovidrel trigger protocol- this does not include initial testing.
Because we had DOR, he wasn’t worried about being aggressive with protocol or me getting OHSS. However, for some reason, I didn’t respond at all and we converted to an IUI. ... Dr. Phipps took the time to meet with us and honestly explain realistic expectations for my husband and I. We were not rushed out because we went over time, we felt like family in his office
I swear Every person at this clinic [Reproductive Resource Center] was hand picked by Jesus to work here. They have all been so kind when I needed it most, never judge mental, never rude. I love them! The front desk Are the perfect faces you want to see and talk to when you are so nervous for what’s about to come in your appointment. They are quick about getting information for you, scheduling appointments, getting a nurse, whatever it is you need.
How was your experience with William Phipps (retired) at Reproductive Resource Center?
We are fairly new to the process, but Dr. Phipps seems to be very well educated in his field. He may not be the easiest person to talk to (a bit awkward), because I swear he is a super genius, but it makes me feel good that he’s educated in his field.
What's one piece of advice would you give a prospective patient of William Phipps (retired) at Reproductive Resource Center?
He is unlike any other doctor I’ve had. Give him the chance to explain what he’s doing and don’t expect him to dumb things down. All of his explanations are scientific.

However, for some reason, I didn’t respond at all and we converted to an IUI. Waiting on phone call with Dr. Phipps to discuss why he thinks that happened and what is next
Describe your experience with the nursing staff at Reproductive Resource Center.
Every nurse we have had so far has exceeded my expectations. They are very hopeful and optimistic, even when things look bad.
Becca was amazing when I had my scan and we figured my cycle would be canceled. She went through how I am young and that is going to be in our favor and nothing that’s happening is my fault. She assured me I am doing all I can to have a baby and not to blame myself

Describe the costs associated with your care under William Phipps (retired) at Reproductive Resource Center.
Down payment for IVF cycle was $12,800
Medications were $4,800
We didn’t make it to egg retrieval to pay the rest...
Describe William Phipps (retired)'s approach to eSET (elective single embryo transfer) vs. multiple embryo transfer at Reproductive Resource Center.
Dr. Phipps will only transfer one embryo...because of my age.
During the diagnostic phase prior to IUI, she [Dr. Brabec] recommended I get a large fibroid removed, which I did. During that surgery with another surgeon, it was discovered that I had endometriosis. This VERY important finding was completely glossed over by Dr. Brabec. I knew nothing about endo at the time and trusted her since she didn't discuss it after my surgery. During that second consultation to finally start IUI, she only gave me the options of IUI with oral meds or IVF. No injectables.
Sarah [nurse at Reproductive Resource Center] was warm, thorough, and super intelligent. She explained things in a way that never felt rushed, unlike with Dr. Brabec. Sarah was literally the only reason I stayed with this clinic, as I wasn't crazy about Dr. Brabec from the beginning. Sarah responded to all of my portal messages quickly and with thorough explanations, which I really appreciated...All of the clinic staff I encountered were very friendly and kind. I felt that the communication in the clinic was good and that my questions or requests were always answered in a timely manner and with professionalism.
How was your experience with Celeste Brabec at Reproductive Resource Center?
I saw Dr. Brabec about three times over the course of 1.5 years. At my initial consult, she recommended IVF as my course of treatment based on my age and lab values. I was not ready for that and wanted to try IUI first. She recommended IUI with injectables to increase the chances of pregnancy. During the diagnostic phase prior to IUI, she recommended I get a large fibroid removed, which I did. I pointed out this discrepancy from our previous visit, and she stated that injectables are rarely used with IUI anymore due to the risk of multiples. I pointed out that that was her recommendation a year prior, which she again glossed over. After two failed IUIs with oral meds, I sought out a second opinion on my case to see if IVF was the next best step. I did not consult with Dr. Brabec about this b/c she was gung-ho about IVF from the get go and felt that I already knew what her answer would be. My second opinion doctor encouraged me to look into endometriosis again before doing anything, because in her eyes (based on my labs and testing), I was a fertile woman and something else was causing my infertility. THANK GOD I found her and also found Nancy's Nook group on Facebook which provides amazing information about endometriosis. I still knew very little about endo at the time. Through this group, I found an endometriosis specialist in STL. He read my operative report from 1.5 years ago where I had the fibroid and endometriosis removed and HE informed me that I had Stage 4 endometriosis. To say I was shocked and disgusted that Dr. Brabec never mentioned this to me is an understatement. I honestly don't know that she ever ready my surgical report, as it clearly stated that I had endometriosis on my bowel, bladder, and uterus. Upon learning this, I feel that the IUIs I had were likely a waste and that I also wasted 1.5 years of my fertility life by not knowing I had stage 4 endo. Dr. Brabec was completely negligent in this area, and even after confronting her about this, she was less than helpful and said how she had it documented that we discussed the endo. Had I known I had stage 4 endo then or had been given ANY education about it, I would have been ready for IVF at that time. Also, her treatment recommendations for endo are very outdated and old school. So- if you know you want IVF and are ready for it, this might be the doctor for you. However, if you want a thorough investigation into the causes of your infertility, want education about your fertility picture, or if you have endometriosis, I would absolutely not recommend Dr. Brabec as your provider. She basically feels that IVF is the answer for anything.
What's one piece of advice would you give a prospective patient of Celeste Brabec at Reproductive Resource Center?
Only go to her if you are ready for IVF and have done your research on why you need IVF.
During treatment, were you treated like a number or a human with Celeste Brabec at Reproductive Resource Center?
The first consult was ok, but I felt like Dr. Brabec spoke very quickly and ran through my options like she'd said it all a million times, which she probably had. The consult felt a bit rushed, which I was quite uncomfortable with. Her NPs were never like that, however, which is why I stuck with this clinic.
Describe the protocols Celeste Brabec used in your cycles at Reproductive Resource Center and their degree of success.
I did two rounds of IUI with letrozole pills (2.5 mg for five days), along with Ovidrel trigger shot both times. I believe I had several good sized follicles both times.

Describe the specific things that went wrong at Reproductive Resource Center.
Dr. Brabec did not provide any education about my endometriosis findings, how it impacts my fertility, or anything. It wasn't until I saw an endometriosis specialist 1.5 years later that I learned of this.
She [Dr. Brabec] told me they are going to get us a baby and I truly do believe that! I think everyone going through fertility issues needs all the positivity we can get!...She did tell me I needed to lose a little weight which is a shock to whoever hears it, but if that is what is holding me back from growing my family, I will try to lose what I need to!...She also told us that we can only talk about IVF for 1 HOUR a day, just because that’s all I literally think and talk about. She keeps me in check and I need that in a doctor.
The clinic [Reproductive Resource Center] is so clean and they have an AMAZING staff! I honestly can not pick out a weakness for the clinic. They are just so wonderful! I could honestly just hang out there all day because of their positivity!...We have only had our consultation and my husband had a seman analysis. I had a vaginal ulrtasound done, which determined my PCOS. Then we discussed our treatment plan and I was put on Metformin and the birth control pill.
How was your experience with Celeste Brabec at Reproductive Resource Center?
I had a wonderful experience with Dr. Brabec. She tells you how it is and I love that. I don’t want anyone that’s going to sugar coat anything and that is by far Dr.Brabec! She did tell me I needed to lose a little weight which is a shock to whoever hears it, but if that is what is holding me back from growing my family, I will try to lose what I need to! What I also love about Dr.Brabec is her POSITIVITY! When my husband and I could not get pregnant my attitude became so negative, but the second we walked through the doors her positivity lit up the room! She also told us,” Don’t worry, we will get you guys a baby, we just have to figure out what is going on” I honestly believe that they are going to get us pregnant! She also told us that we can only talk about IVF for 1 HOUR a day, just because that’s all I literally think and talk about.
She keeps me in check and I need that in a doctor.
What's one piece of advice would you give a prospective patient of Celeste Brabec at Reproductive Resource Center?
Be patient and open minded. Don’t get your feelings hurt if you are told you need to lose weight or some other lifestyles changes.

All the nurses are amazing. I mainly talked to Ashley and clicked really well with her. I called her a couple weeks after our consultation just because I didn’t retain some information because I was emotionally exhausted, and she went through EVERYTHING with me. She even broke it down when I was completely confused.

We are going through IVF and with all of our costs not including what we have already spent, it will be around $27-$30k.
Describe Celeste Brabec's approach to eSET (elective single embryo transfer) vs. multiple embryo transfer at Reproductive Resource Center.
Dr.Brabec only recommends one embryo at a time just because there is that chance that you can have multiples and having multiples means bed rest and possibly NICU time for the babies.
[Dr. Brabec is] straight to the point but optimistic. She’s determined to find a way to make us a baby even with challenges. She’s confident but not cocky. She’s warm but realistic in our expectations. As a physician, she respected my profession and knowledge base but still explained everything completely and made sure my husband understood...she can be aggressive is recommended IVF right away if that’s what she thinks would give you the best shot.
The waiting room [at Reproductive Resource Center] is comfortable and neat. The front staff are so incredibly warm and welcoming. They are always chipper and kind. The clinic is very nice. Nothing over the top but just right. The environment is overall exactly what I would want in an infertility clinic...They [nurses] are all very warm and compassionate. Some of them have personally struggled with infertility. They show true empathy.

Describe the protocols Celeste Brabec used in your cycles at Reproductive Resource Center and their degree of success.
We actually conceived naturally after our first visit with her after only being on the supplements she recommended. That pregnancy ended in a ruptured ectopic. She then further recommended IVF however she was open to allowing to us try IUI first. We took letrozole 2.5 mg, Ovidrel 250 mcg trigger shot, insemination and then progesterone. We are currently in the 2 week waiting period.

I have loved being at RRC with William Phibbs. He has great bed side manner and I also felt comfortable with him. He's been really great, open and honest. We are traveling over 4 hours both ways to see Dr. Phibbs. We researched clinics and doctors extensively before making our decision and we are happy with it so far!... He is very smart and very educated and has a lot of years of doing IVF under his belt. He knows what he's talking about, for sure.
[IVF at Reproductive Resource Center] was successful, with 15 eggs, 11 mature, 9 fertilized, 3 made it to day 5, and 1 on day 6. All four made it through PGT testing...Strengths - doctors with LOTS of experience and knowledge under their belts...We like all of the nurse, care coordinators and the nursing staff. They are all very helpful and knowledgeable. They have been nothing but accommodating and kind to us...We are around $34,000 right now. Not finished.

Agonist protocol, if I recall that was the name of it. We did injections for 10 days, trigger on the 11th day, and egg retrieval two days later. It was successful, with 15 eggs, 11 mature, 9 fertilized, 3 made it to day 5, and 1 on day 6. All four made it through PGT testing.

Describe William Phipps (retired)'s approach to eSET (elective single embryo transfer) vs. multiple embryo transfer at Reproductive Resource Center.
We are only transferring one embryo. We are not sure our clinic's protocol on it but we think they only do one at a time. We are young with healthy embryos and not miscarriages so only one is fine with us.
I saw Dr. Phipps 2 years ago for an iui and initial diagnoses. I did not get pregnant and then my spouse and I took a break from treatment and returned this month. So far we have had an IVF consult, simple labs, a plan of treatment and a financial consult. So far he has been thorough, but not extremely personable. I believe he is talented and knows what he is doing, but just may not be the warmest person. He explains each detail, but sometimes uses vocabulary that needs to be explained. I feel comfortable moving forward with him.
The same staff was there that we saw 2 years ago [at Reproductive Resource Center]. They got us in quickly, and are very prompt to respond. They always greet us with a smile and are prepared to answer questions. I really appreciated that they had all of our previous information at hand and we did not have to repeat a bunch of info.... The quote we were given was between 18500 and 2200 depending on genetic testing. They also offered unifvy and attain multi cycle plans for more.

I have PCOS so IVF with ICSI and a frozen transfer was recommended to do a fear of OHSS. He explained why I’m at a higher risk and why frozen transfer would be the safest option. I have not started the medication process, but those details will come in a separate meeting.

They told me they almost always do a single embryo transfer. They said it is safer for me and there are less complications with a singleton pregnancy
When my labs were not going according to plan, I wish they [RCC] would have called off the cycle. ... We were expecting 6-7 eggs, but only got 1. It didn’t mature past day 3. In the followup from cancelling the trial transfer, she said she wouldn’t change my protocol or do anything different. ... Rarely actually saw her [Dr. Brabec], another doctor did my trial transfer, and she wasn’t there for for egg retrieval. I saw her the day I came for a consultation and that was it. ...
Strengths [of Reproductive Resource Center]- friendly front desk staff Weakness- need to work on clarity on financials and what isn’t included in the two IVF bundle plan they offer, work on bed side manner, need to partner with out of state OBGYN’s so patients don’t have to travel for ultrasounds and blood work. ... We were also charged for that follow up call even though we paid for a special program to get two rounds of IVF.
How was your experience with Celeste Brabec at Reproductive Resource Center?
When my labs were not going according to plan, I wish they would have called off the cycle. It felt like a money thing to them to keep me going. We were expecting 6-7 eggs, but only got 1. It didn’t mature past day 3. In the followup from cancelling the trial transfer, she said she wouldn’t change my protocol or do anything different. She would recommend an egg donor as well. We were also charged for that follow up call even though we paid for a special program to get two rounds of IVF. The clinic seemed more focused on making money than trying to find the right plan for us. I actually got pregnant on my own after IVF.
What's one piece of advice would you give a prospective patient of Celeste Brabec at Reproductive Resource Center?
I would ask for specific break downs of the financials for clarity of what you would be charged for. Ask if she will actually be your doctor or if her staff will he overseeing your treatment.

I was told I have low egg reserve and bad egg quality before my labs even came in which was a huge shock to us because we had been doing treatments for 2 years before seeing her and we were told it was “unexplained fertility”. So her protocol for us was the maximum medication she could give me because of the low reserve and bad egg quality.

They were matter of fact, so not great bed side manners.
