Attention to Detail

Attention to detail is on a 1 - 10 scale, and is scored based on the rate, and severity, of errors committed by the clinic according to the patients.

For example, a severe error might be failing to inform a patient of critical information, while a small error might be failing to call a patient with results.

CDC Success Rates

This is the most recent data from the CDC. The CDC cautions that it should not be used to compare doctors and clinics. This data represents the outcomes of IVF cycles when using a person's own eggs.

For more information please see our FAQs.

Where you see a “?” on the chart, a clinic has done fewer than 20 cycles in this category and age range, so the CDC says showing percentages from this small data set would be misleading and unreliable.

I love Dr. Dondik...everything was personalized, and she used previous unsuccessful treatment to guide subsequent treatments...so kind, compassionate...followed a Mediterranean/anti-inflammatory diet per Dr. Dondik's recommendation...had a slight preference for a natural cycle
Strengths [of NYU Langone Reproductive Specialists of New York]...they do a high volume...you don't feel like just a number...care is evidence-based and personalized...Weaknesses...would love it if they got a nicer, more user-friendly pt portal...genetic testing which was ~$3000 in total
How was your experience with Yelena Dondik at NYU Langone Reproductive Specialists of New York?
I love Dr. Dondik. She is truly the best. I had two previous REIs before I went to her, multiple egg retrievals, and multiple failed FETs. I think part of the reason I was unsuccessful was because the other REIs used blanket protocols and/or treatments that weren't based in evidence. But, I didn't have that experience at all with Dr. Dondik--everything was personalized, and she used previous unsuccessful treatment to guide subsequent treatments. It took a couple of ERs, but we finally got a euploid embryo, and so far, so good! She's so kind, compassionate...and just a wonderful provider. It's hard to find providers like her in this world. I can't recommend her enough.
What's one piece of advice would you give a prospective patient of Yelena Dondik at NYU Langone Reproductive Specialists of New York?
Don't be afraid to ask questions--she'll never treat you like it was a dumb question.
Describe the protocols Yelena Dondik used in your cycles at NYU Langone Reproductive Specialists of New York and their degree of success.
My previous REI used a long lupron protocol (presumably bc I have PCOS), and it resulted in high egg yields, but low maturity rate. They only did ICSI, and between my retrievals I got four embryos (untested--my REI didn't recommend it for PGT-A only, but really I think it's because the clinic didn't have the capacity), and zero successful FETs (one chemical). Also got OHSS from both retrievals and it was awful. I did two more ERs with Dr. Dondik: ER 1; antagonist protocol, lupron trigger. ~12 eggs, 5 mature, natural fertilization. Resulted in 2 five day embryos, both aneuploid. Also took letrazole for a week (I think) following the ER; no OHSS, but still pretty high E2 levels. ER 2; antagonist protocol, dual trigger of lupron and hCG (hoping for better maturity). 9 eggs, 4 mature, ICSI. Resulted in 2 five day embryos, one aneuploid, one euploid. For this cycle, I also did the supplement recommendations from 'It Starts with the Egg by Rebecca Fett' and followed a Mediterranean/anti-inflammatory diet per Dr. Dondik's recommendation. Initiated the letrazole 5 days before retrieval and continued for several days after (I can't remember exactly). E2 was better controlled though, and no OHSS. Polypectomy and D&C before FET FET; medicated cycle (she said she had a slight preference for a natural cycle, but I lived far away and didn't have the flexibility in my work schedule. Estrogen patches and PIO. Also followed Rebecca Fett's supplement recommendations, and kept taking metformin until + hCG. So far, so good! I'm almost 11wks and remaining cautiously optimistic.
Describe your experience with NYU Langone Reproductive Specialists of New York.
Strengths: they do a high volume and there isn't a long wait btwn cycles, but you don't feel like just a number and the care is evidence-based and personalized. Weaknesses: Driving out to Long Island for weekend scans/blood work is kind of a pain, but not the end of the world at all. I would love it if they got a nicer, more user-friendly pt portal, but that's not up to the providers I'm sure.
Describe the costs associated with your care under Yelena Dondik at NYU Langone Reproductive Specialists of New York.
My insurance covered most things, except genetic testing which was ~$3000 in total. I had copays for some appts and meds--over the course of my care they probably totaled ~$1000, maybe more? I also had to travel, stay in hotels, etc because I lived about 4 hours away from the clinic, so that was expensive in NYC and LI.
Describe Yelena Dondik's approach to eSET (elective single embryo transfer) vs. multiple embryo transfer at NYU Langone Reproductive Specialists of New York.
yes! they were very adamant about eSET for euploid transfers. I only ever had one euploid embryo though, so it didn't actually matter in the end.

Dr. Dondik is thorough, thoughtful...explains things in terms you can understand...was always realistic about what the possibilities were...had a miscarriage at 3 months she was very supportive and kind...didn't rush us into doing IVF...explained my options for a medicated or unmedicated transfer
[NYU Langone Reproductive Specialists of New York] Strength - runs very smoothly, staff is kind and friendly and patient...Weakness- if you dont get to make your next appointment when you leave calling to make one was sometimes challenging since you had to wait for a call back.
How was your experience with Yelena Dondik at NYU Langone Reproductive Specialists of New York?
Dr. Dondik is thorough, thoughtful, and explains things in terms you can understand. She was patient with me when I had a lot of questions and was always realistic about what the possibilities were. After we got pregnant from timed intercourse and had a miscarriage at 3 months she was very supportive and kind. She didn't rush us into doing IVF but when we decided to do it she was able to really get things moving quickly which I appreciated.
What's one piece of advice would you give a prospective patient of Yelena Dondik at NYU Langone Reproductive Specialists of New York?
Ask whatever questions you have
During treatment, were you treated like a number or a human with Yelena Dondik at NYU Langone Reproductive Specialists of New York?
Dr. Dondik was so wonderful always super responsive even when I would email after appointments and always took the time to answer questions and explain things to me.
Describe the protocols Yelena Dondik used in your cycles at NYU Langone Reproductive Specialists of New York and their degree of success.
I am 37 now. Started seeing Dr. Dondik at 35 for PCOS. Tried timed intercourse for a while with Letrozol to help stimulate follicle development which resulted in a pregnancy but then I miscarried at 3 months due to chromosomal abnormality. I was not wanting to rush into IVF so after the miscarriage we did a few more cycles of timed intercourse with letrozol. Had one chemical pregnancy and then started IVF. Dr. Dondik was supportive of me wanting to try these less invasive interventions. Once we were ready to start IVF things got moving really fast which I really appreciated. We did one egg retrieval. I was 36 at this point. We got 23 follicles, 21 mature, 15 fertilized, 4 made it to blastocyst and only one came back genetically normal. My insurance required that I transfer the embryo within 60 days of retrieval which if I had a choice since we only had one I would have like to do another retrieval first to see if we could get more embryos frozen. But Dr. Dondik explained my options for a medicated or unmedicated transfer. Since I had built up healthy uterine linings before and help a pregnancy she said there was no reason I couldn't do the unmedicated which just required a couple more appointments and a trigger shot. We did the transfer and to my great shock it worked an I am currently 14 weeks pregnant with that embryo.
Describe your experience with the nursing staff at NYU Langone Reproductive Specialists of New York.
Nursing staff was attentive and answered my questions. Only improvement I would say is the appointment system. Often I would call and then have to wait for someone to call me back and miss that call and if it was after 3 then I would have to wait till the next day.

Describe the costs associated with your care under Yelena Dondik at NYU Langone Reproductive Specialists of New York.
Luckily my insurance covered fertility treatments and 3 cycles of IVF. I had to pay 25 co pay / visit. And then the genetic testing was around 4-5,000$.

I was at risk for OHSS, and Dr. Fritz made sure to monitor me closely, checking in on me even on days I was not seen in office. He explained adjustments in my treatment plan clearly and in a timely manner, and prevented complications related to OHSS...I never felt rushed
I was worried about scheduling frequent appts for bloodwork and ultrasounds during the egg retrieval process, but [NYU Langone Reproductive Specialists] made it easy...Elena made what I thought would be a complicated process very easy!!...would typically message me within just a few hours of my office visit with next steps
How was your experience with Rani Fritz at NYU Langone Reproductive Specialists of New York?
Dr. Fritz was incredible. I was nervous going into the process of egg retrieval, but Dr. Fritz, from my first consultation, clearly communicated the steps in a way that was easy to understand. I was at risk for OHSS, and Dr. Fritz made sure to monitor me closely, checking in on me even on days I was not seen in office. He explained adjustments in my treatment plan clearly and in a timely manner, and prevented complications related to OHSS. I was fortunate to have a very successful egg retrieval in one try, but if I were to do it again, I would 100% choose Dr. Fritz again. (By chance I was scheduled with him for my initial consultation, and I am so grateful for that). I would HIGHLY recommend Dr. Fritz to my family and friends.
What's one piece of advice would you give a prospective patient of Rani Fritz at NYU Langone Reproductive Specialists of New York?
Don’t be nervous, just go ahead and make the appointment!
During treatment, were you treated like a number or a human with Rani Fritz at NYU Langone Reproductive Specialists of New York?
At my visits, I always felt like all staff (doctor, nurse, MA) provided me with full attention. I never felt rushed. Also, Dr. Fritz called me to check in and see how I was doing throughout the process. I appreciate how closely I was monitored.
Describe the protocols Rani Fritz used in your cycles at NYU Langone Reproductive Specialists of New York and their degree of success.
I was initially put on OCP for about 1 week to prep for the injections I was then instructed to inject Gonal and Menopur to stimulate my follicles to develop and mature. After a few days, I was then instructed to add cetrotide injections to delay ovulation while my follicles continued to mature. Finally I was instructed to inject leuprolide (trigger shot) 36 hours before my egg retrieval procedure. Following the procedure I was prescribed oral cabergoline for 8 days to help prevent OHSS complications. I was having ultrasounds and bloodwork done every 1-2 days throughout this whole process - I am thankful for the close monitoring!
Describe your experience with your nurse at NYU Langone Reproductive Specialists of New York. (Assigned nurse: Elena Longoria)
Elena was great!! She always had me stop by her desk before I left the office to update me with anything new. She would typically message me within just a few hours of my office visit with next steps (which injections to take, exact dose, what time, next appt, etc). Elena made what I thought would be a complicated process very easy!!
Describe your experience with NYU Langone Reproductive Specialists of New York.
I was worried about scheduling frequent appts for bloodwork and ultrasounds during the egg retrieval process, but the clinic made it easy! I work 12 hour days, but the early hour accommodations were extremely helpful to get me to work on time, every time. For all of my appointments, I was typically finished in about 20-25 minutes - amazing for the working woman!
Describe the costs associated with your care under Rani Fritz at NYU Langone Reproductive Specialists of New York.
I was fortunate to have my insurance cover costs. (I did have to hit my deductible and out of pocket max, $2000 and $4000 respectively, but this was affordable compared to what it could have been without my insurance!)

had a good experience with Dr. Fritz. He took the time to explain results and go over the process of IVF. He called my husband and I to personally relay information. He is a very caring physician. I didn’t love that he was not the one performing my retrieval...I felt like a human when interacting with Dr. Fritz. He made the time to call me with results and provided his direct phone number.
I really did not like RSNY. The billing department was the worst. They sent me a bill that I never received and within a few months it was sent to collections. Additionally, the other doctor who performed my egg retrieval was not the most compassionate. I felt frustrated by the embryologist as well. When I emailed questions I received a very rude response...My nurse was very sweet and helpful, although I didn’t like how protocol information was relayed in the portal. It wasn’t an organized process. At one point she accidentally gave me the wrong information

I would tell a prospective patient that Rani Fritz is great but NYU RSNY not so much, which unfortunately alters the patient experience.

I felt like a human when interacting with Dr. Fritz. He made the time to call me with results and provided his direct phone number. In the clinic I felt more like a number but this is expected in NYC due to high patient volume.

Additionally, the other doctor who performed my egg retrieval was not the most compassionate. I felt frustrated by the embryologist as well. When I emailed questions I received a very rude response. Despite having multiple follicles growing (13) only 6 were retrieved- I never received an explanation as to why this occurred despite asking. Of the six, only three fertilized and none made it to the blastocyst stage, which also made me wonder about embryologist / lab technique.

It was covered by insurance but I had to pay for meds out of pocket - I’d say about $3000

Upon meeting Dr. Fritz, we started off with a consultation, and he was very good with information, asking all the explicit questions, and understanding my concerns and frustrations. He showed sympathy and his bedside manner was not rough or cold. I felt like he actually cared about my story and actually wanted to help. After the consult, everything went quickly but smooth, I got results from him and his staff and I felt like every question I had, he could answer. I didn't feel forced to do anything. I ended up doing IVF because I felt it was the better choice for my story, and there was a lesser chance of miscarriage. Dr. Fritz took time to explain everything even after telling him I had anxiety from ultrasounds and from bleeding due to back to back miscarriages. Fast forward, I was able to graduate from his care and I am tremendously grateful for Dr. Fritz and his staff.
The [NYU Langone Reproductive Specialists of New York] clinic is clean and is super spacious. The staff work well as well. I believe the only so-so thing is scheduling. How was your experience with Rani Fritz at NYU Langone Reproductive Specialists of New York?
I met Dr. Fritz after my third miscarriage in May of 2023. I was uncertain as to what path I was being introduced into as I have never sought out fertility treatments and/or help. I have heard of IVF but still needed more information on it. Ask questions and do not be intimidated. Dr. Fritz does not look down on questions and while he may be busy, he will always get back to you with a response.
During treatment, were you treated like a number or a human with Rani Fritz at NYU Langone Reproductive Specialists of New York?
Dr. Fritz made sure he knew who I was when I would walk into the office and he knew who my partner was as well, he would never call us by log numbers.
Describe the protocols Rani Fritz used in your cycles at NYU Langone Reproductive Specialists of New York and their degree of success.
After completing testing, you do one last final consult with Dr. Fritz before treatment time. It is at this consult where he explains your options, your testing results, and more. I decided to do IVF and I was put on multiple medications such as: MENOPUR, PREGNYL, GONAL-F, LEUPROLIDE, and CETROTIDE. I was also assigned Baby Aspirin (for blood clot prevention). After egg retrieval and Transfer, I was assigned: Baby Aspirin, Estrogen, Progesterone, and Levothyroxine (For thyroid issue).
Describe your experience with your nurse at NYU Langone Reproductive Specialists of New York. (Assigned nurse: Elena Longoria)
Ms. Elena Longoria is a stellar nurse. She was like Dr. Fritz's right hand woman. She was on top of everything and always sent me messages. I needed to ask a question, I could easily email her and she would respond. She was a great communicator and made sure I knew when to take my meds and how and where.

The clinic is clean and is super spacious. The staff work well as well. I believe the only so-so thing is scheduling. Monitoring, ultrasounds, and blood is always scheduled super early, which may be a good or a bad thing. Lucky for me, I have a flexible schedule but definitely a morning-mid morning schedule.
Describe your experience with your monitoring appointments at NYU Langone Reproductive Specialists of New York.
With monitoring appointments, I believe I only had to wait a while was for one particular appointment. Other than that, staff have a pretty reasonable way of making things flow and I was usually in and out, without feeling rushed either.
Describe the costs associated with your care under Rani Fritz at NYU Langone Reproductive Specialists of New York.
I believe the cost for my insurance was $17-18K, this did not include medications or pre-testing. For genetic testing: My partner had to pay $100.00, while I needed to pay $60.00. Copayments were: $40.00 for every visit. Medication copayments were: $275.00 (IVF Stims Medications) After Transfer Med copayments were: $52.00 for Progesterone and $15.00 for Estrogen.

Dr. Rani Fritz is absolutely amazing...He was thorough, persistent, reassuring, understanding and extremely knowledgeable on every corner of the process. He was always direct letting me know the pros and cons of this process. He handled my surgeries with care and communicated with me every step of the way. I never felt uncomfortable or rejected. I would recommend Fritz to everyone I know that is seeking professional reproductive care. This is has been such a long but pleasant journey with the help of Rani Fritz and his team. I am so blessed to have found him as a specialist because he has changed our lives for the better.
The [NYU Langone Reproductive Specialists of New York] clinic is very easy 1,2,3. I can ask one person something and if they don’t already have an answer they get one for me by the proper professional in due time. They are all pleasant and even at 7am you are greeted with a smile.

Describe the protocols Rani Fritz used in your cycles at NYU Langone Reproductive Specialists of New York and their degree of success.
We started with the egg retrieval process. I was on prescribed Gonal F injections, Menopur, Cetroride Novarel This was used to help enlarge my ovaries to and produce more eggs for egg retrieval For my FET Vivelle and Progesterone Oil injections These medications were used to prepare my uterus for implantation. Through both processes I came in every other day blood work and if needs an ultrasound to ensure the medications were working properly. They proved to work and provide a successful retrieval and FET.

If I had a scheduled appointment for 8:30 and I was running a few minutes behind ( due to NYC subways :) ) the office always reassured that as long as I could make it in before a specific time when they close out for clinical assessments than I could be seen no problem. I was always taken to the exam room within 1-10 minutes if my arrival to the clinic. So it made it easy to plan if I needed to come in before work.
Describe the costs associated with your care under Rani Fritz at NYU Langone Reproductive Specialists of New York.
My treatment cost was above $20,000 for procedure and medications included.

Dr Frtiz bedside manners are excellent, he consistently demonstrates compassion and great medical insight. He will always go over US imaging alongside me, and explain in detail the next steps. when a new plan/question comes along he will support his decisions with medical literature and will also refer to his experience allowing me with complete information to make a decision. he will always answer questions regarding care and further steps to take
The [NYU Langone Reproductive Specialists of New York] clinic is nice clean, and very efficient and all staff at the Brooklyn location are fantastic only downside is that all IVF procedures are done at a different location in Mineola. which if you don't have a car is complicated. if something is needed on the weekend is also done at the mineola office...Care by Dr Frtiz and his staff was polite always and warming he took his time to explain things in a very polite manner and always being very discrete and gentle

Describe the protocols Rani Fritz used in your cycles at NYU Langone Reproductive Specialists of New York and their degree of success.
he will do ovulation induction and have me go to the clinic frequently to evaluate follicular growth and administer hcg at the appropriate time. this was mostly for IUI for IVF is a different protocol is a lot depending on each patient's hormonal profile and how the ovulation induction will be, in this section multiple injections will take place. after egg retrieval, he will give an alternative of medication-induced or natural cycle (I chose the latter with consisted of progesterone suppositories and estradiol tab)

Dr. Fritz was professional, empathetic, and knowledgeable. At each point in my treatment, he was able to clearly explain what he was recommending and why. In addition, I had negative reactions to some hormones, and Dr. Fritz was very understanding and adapted treatment to my needs. Finally, prior to my successful transfer, I had 3 unsuccessful transfers, and Dr. Fritz was very supportive each time, making sure to call me personally to go over the news and talk about next steps.
The [NYU Langone Reproductive Specialists of NY] clinic has a stellar staff. Everyone I met was kind and professional, which made it easier to come in for treatment. They have good communication: (1) they use eIVF as a patient portal, and it's helpful to have everything in one place to refer back to, and (2) they always provided me with clear instructions after a procedure like an egg retrieval or embryo transfer, which let me and my husband know what to expect and put our minds at ease. The Brooklyn practice doesn't provide all services, and patients must go to the Long Island location for procedures such as egg retrieval and embryo transfer, which was convenient for me but something to consider as a new patient.

Dr. Fritz performed all my ultrasounds himself and gave a clear interpretation of what was going on immediately. I didn’t have to hear it from anyone else. He would give clear instructions about what to do going forward regarding medication, lifestyle recommendations. He was easily contactable if I had any questions and I didn’t feel like I was inconveniencing him. He was directly involved in my care and I felt that he was on top of everything

I had 2 unsuccessful IUIs with Dr. Fritz followed by a successful IVF cycle. We retrieved 30 eggs which translated into 8 viable embryos and my current pregnancy. I was blown away with our results. For my ivf cycle, I was on a combination of follistim and menopur with the addition of cetrotide later. He also started me on cabergoline to prevent OHSS

Ask a lot of questions! Especially regarding potential side effects of treatment/procedures.
During treatment, were you treated like a number or a human with Rani Fritz at NYU Langone Reproductive Specialists of New York?
Dr. Fritz understood I was in a very dire situation as I had just come from another clinic with failed after failed treatment. He took the time to explain his hypothesis of my diagnosis, the testing he wanted to do, and his proposed course of action. He answered all of my questions along the way and didn't set unrealistic expectations.
Describe the protocols Rani Fritz used in your cycles at NYU Langone Reproductive Specialists of New York and their degree of success.
We did an IVF cycle using menopur, GonalF, and Cetrotide/Ganirelix. I was put on a low dose b/c of my diagnosis and was monitored very closely. The hyper-stimulation lasted about three weeks until my egg retrieval. We then froze embryos, did genetic testing, and did an artificial transfer.

Dr. Fritz was so thorough with his explanations. No question was discouraged. His consultations, whether on the phone, virtually, or in person, were never rushed. How was your experience with Rani Fritz at NYU Langone Reproductive Specialists of New York?
Dr. Fritz is the best doctor I have ever met. He is a solutions oriented person and you can tell his treatment plans are well thought out and individualized. Infertility is very difficult, but with him I always felt like I had someone that valued my time and efforts. His presence is also so calming. Until I starting seeing Dr. Fritz, I didn't realize how important this characteristic is.
What's one piece of advice would you give a prospective patient of Rani Fritz at NYU Langone Reproductive Specialists of New York?
Be on time for the Brooklyn appointments. Take public transportation (subways) there. The traffic there is bad. They do monitoring until about 9:45am.
During treatment, were you treated like a number or a human with Rani Fritz at NYU Langone Reproductive Specialists of New York?
Dr. Fritz was so thorough with his explanations. No question was discouraged. His consultations, whether on the phone, virtually, or in person, were never rushed. He gets to know all his patients and their situations very well.
Describe the protocols Rani Fritz used in your cycles at NYU Langone Reproductive Specialists of New York and their degree of success.
Injections to increase egg production. Injections to prevent ovulation. Injection to release for retrieval. Progesterone before an ERA test and then before and after transfer to produce receptivity.
Describe your experience with your nurse at NYU Langone Reproductive Specialists of New York. (Assigned nurse: Elena)
I loved that Elena always sent me message with injection protocols and other information I needed via the NYU Symantec Encryption Server. I got an mail alert about it and was able to refer to these emails at anytime. I always kept my laptop screen open when I was taking all these injections. I hate when doctor's offices only do phone calls. It's so easy to hear something incorrectly or misunderstand what is said. I love that Elena always sent messages in this way.
Describe your experience with NYU Langone Reproductive Specialists of New York.
It was very good to have an office in Brooklyn. It was very easy for me to hop on a train to get to work later. They had a good bathroom and filtered water and cups available. Sometimes you will see other doctors instead of Dr. Fritz. They take turns since Brooklyn is more of a satellite office. The other two doctor there are also good though - Dondick, Goudas.
Describe your experience with your monitoring appointments at NYU Langone Reproductive Specialists of New York.
Monitoring was done before 10AM. It was great and allowed me to get to my job quickly.
Describe the costs associated with your care under Rani Fritz at NYU Langone Reproductive Specialists of New York.
They accept most insurance
Describe Rani Fritz's approach to eSET (elective single embryo transfer) vs. multiple embryo transfer at NYU Langone Reproductive Specialists of New York.
I paid for genetic testing, which showed that I had two normal embryos. Dr. Fritz chose the best one for transfer. It worked. The other one is in the freezer at NYU.

Dr. Fritz, from our first appointment, was extremely thorough, with what test we would need to do and what our next steps would be. In addition he would explain to my husband and I what the success rates where so we didn’t put additional pressure on ourselves...I felt absolutely comfortable and open to share all of my concerns about each test or procedure. Even when I was unsure of what I wanted to do Dr. Fritz did not pressure us to make a decision...
Dr. Fritz and his entire team [at NYU Langone Reproductive Specialists of NY] all were on the same page and made every visit more than comfortable. As a new patient I would say come with all of your questions and the entire staff would assist you...Elena was my primary nurse and like Dr. Fritz she was thorough about the plan he had in place. Elena emailed and/or after every visit once my blood work was returned. In addition if I needed clarification on medication or dosage she was available. Elena was patient and always positive. In addition Laverne was the only nurse within the whole RSNY that made the multiple injections all seem like a pinch
How was your experience with Rani Fritz at NYU Langone Reproductive Specialists of New York?
Dr. Fritz always made my husband and I feel comfortable. He explained each procedure and what we needed to do next. In addition he provided a wide variety of options for us to choose. Dr. Fritz was very compassionate and made us feel like he was with us whether it was good or not so good test results. I felt absolutely comfortable and open to share all of my concerns about each test or procedure. Even when I was unsure of what I wanted to do Dr. Fritz did not pressure us to make a decision. During our first transfer we weren’t successful and Dr. Fritz went back to the drawing board and tweaked out a better plan for us. And his plan worked, we are pregnant! My last day with Dr. Fritz was bitter sweet. We are ecstatic about our pregnancy yet sad that it would be our last day coming to his office. In addition Dr. Fritz didn’t just send us off. He sent us with a detailed plan in addition to notes for my ob-gyn.
What's one piece of advice would you give a prospective patient of Rani Fritz at NYU Langone Reproductive Specialists of New York?
Listen to all of his recommendations even if you think you won’t need a specific test done. If Dr. Fritz suggested it get it done. You will thank him later on. Also you are not a number with Dr. Fritz you are a person who he listens too and does his BEST for his patient.

Describe the protocols Rani Fritz used in your cycles at NYU Langone Reproductive Specialists of New York and their degree of success.
First we decided to get a few test done and Dr. Fritz suggest we do an ERA and I remember telling him my lining is good. Boy was I wrong after our first transfer failed. I decided to do the ERA which gave Dr. Fritz a more precise day to transfer the embryo. Which worked, we also got the PGA done on all embryos to make sure the embryo we chose to transfer was healthy. Dr. Fritz also suggested we do ICIS I’m not sure of the name of the test but it was a way of obtaining the nest sperm from my husband sample and mixing it in a specific machine.

Dr.Fritz and he’s staff are absolutely amazing. One of the best medical experiences I had with a while. After one treatment of IUI I’m pregnant with my second child. Dr. Fritz was very kind, warm, knowledgable, and comforting. From the initial consult, he took the time to explain the egg freezing process in detail and answered all my questions. Nothing ever felt rushed. He was always accessible by email to answer questions I had along the way. Knowing that I was very nervous going into this egg retrieval, he called me after the procedure to check in and discussed how many eggs we froze....
They [nursing staff at NYU Langone Reproductive Specialists of NY] went over all the details, made sure I felt comfortable giving myself the medications, and called me to review my results and let me know what dose of medications to take. Although they are busy at times, I did not feel rushed and felt that they got to know me...great location, great doctors, great nursing staff, clean and comfortable atmosphere, great communication. The office is easily accessible by public transportation...Busy at times, but they run efficient.

He first started me on birth control for about 1 week. After the birth control he started me on two separate injection medications (Menopur and Gonal F). After a couple of days on those injections he started a third injection called Cetrotide to prevent me from releasing my eggs. Twenty eggs were retrieved, of which 18 were able to be frozen.

[Dr. Rani Fritz] spoke to me in a way that made me feel that I was an active participant in my care and treatment course...His demeanor when he walks into a room automatically calms the air and when he counsels you, you automatically feel at ease with the journey that you're about to embark on...clearly explained to me the risks, benefits, and alternatives in a manner that was easy for me to comprehend.
They [Nurses at NYU Langone Reproductive Specialists of New York] are THE team that I would want at every doctor's office. Each person had a specific job, but everyone worked together and helped each other when needed. They made their patients feel like a part of a family. I didn't feel like just another patient in the office. Every part of the team knew the name of every patient (without looking). I don't know how they do it-- but they did!
How was your experience with Rani Fritz at NYU Langone Reproductive Specialists of New York?
Dr. Fritz was a physician that understood the pains and frustrations of why patients need to see an infertility specialist. His demeanor when he walks into a room automatically calms the air and when he counsels you, you automatically feel at ease with the journey that you're about to embark on. He spoke to me in a way that made me feel that I was an active participant in my care and treatment course. He clearly explained to me the risks, benefits, and alternatives in a manner that was easy for me to comprehend.
What's one piece of advice would you give a prospective patient of Rani Fritz at NYU Langone Reproductive Specialists of New York?
I would write down all my questions and not feel afraid to ask them. Don't think that you're wasting all of Dr. Fritz's time with all the frivolous questions-- he is there to answer all of them. He certainly answered ALL of mine. And if there's an answer that I didn't understand, I'd ask my question again.
During treatment, were you treated like a number or a human with Rani Fritz at NYU Langone Reproductive Specialists of New York?
Dr. Fritz tailored his explanation to the patient and didn't use jargon that was unfamiliar. He took the time to re-explain things that I didn't understand. He understood the frustrations that I was having and he validated them while giving me viable solutions and treatment plans for my husband and I. His treatment plans were understandable and clear.
Describe the protocols Rani Fritz used in your cycles at NYU Langone Reproductive Specialists of New York and their degree of success.
I did IUI for several cycles and we spoke and prepared for possible IVF. However, I never started IVF as we were able to achieve our desired result.

Describe your experience with NYU Langone Reproductive Specialists of New York.
This clinic was warm, welcoming, and understanding. I came to see Dr. Fritz for a specific reason and I left understanding what the problems were, how we were going to address my infertility, and ultimately I achieved my desired result. Furthermore, the nurses and the rest of the care team were just phenomenal. It didn't feel like I was just another patient walking into a cold sterile clinic. I was person that needed help and I walked into a clinic that was warm, understanding, and empathetic to my needs.
Describe the costs associated with your care under Rani Fritz at NYU Langone Reproductive Specialists of New York.
We initially had problems with our insurance and paperwork. And the thought of the costs associated with fertility treatments were daunting. Furthermore, I also received a bill from insurance (in error) that was was quite unnerving. Luckily, Elena was able to help me with my bill and the financial issues with insurance. Furthermore, while we were considering IVF, she was able to put me in contact with the financial counselor prior to starting IVF to ensure that we wouldn't have any surprise bills in the future. She really went above and beyond her job title to help put me at ease with such a stressful aspect of infertility care.

Dr. Dondik is very kind and takes her time to explain everything to me and answer all of my questions. I do a lot of research and bring ideas and concerns to the table based on my research. She never feels threatened or annoyed by this. Rather, she engages me on my ideas or concerns, and walks me through her recommendations and shares research as to why she recommends specific things. I have had four transfers and so far four miscarriages. When she diagnosed me
It feels like a family [at NYU Langone Reproductive Specialists of New York]. Everyone knows me, that I am a teacher, my history of pregnancy loss, my husband, etc. They know this and are considerate and kind. They get me appointments ASAP and always help me book them in the early mornings so I can make it to my school and classroom on time. Because it is so small, sometimes it can run very behind (especially if the usual nurse or doctor is away). Other than that, it is always a wonderful experience.
How was your experience with Yelena Dondik at NYU Langone Reproductive Specialists of New York?
Dr. Dondik does a good job at looking at the individual rather than throw you into a routine because that is how it is usually done. For example, I make excellent progesterone. I make it each month and don't need help making it or keeping it elevated. Because of this, Dr. Dondik suggested I do a cycle without synthetic progesterone at all. I felt confident in this decision because it not only addressed my need but also allowed me to take a more "natural" path (as natural as IVF and FET can get, anyway). Dr. Dondik is also very understanding and considerate. She talks through options with me based on her recommendations and also what I can do realistically financially. She is kind and compassionate. For example, because I suffer from recurrent miscarriage she comes into every OB ultrasound so that she can tell me right away if there is a problem. I appreciate this because there isn't a pause where the ultrasound tech has to go get her. Dr. Dondik is also supportive during difficult times (like my miscarriages). I was having a lot of pain and was struggling to cope with it. She walked me through different pain management plans and let me choose the one that sounded the best for me personally. I do wish Dr. Dondik did all of my procedures (such as egg retrieval and FET). However, my clinic is set up so that doctors take turns rotating on the OR and it depends on which day you need for which doctor you get.
What's one piece of advice would you give a prospective patient of Yelena Dondik at NYU Langone Reproductive Specialists of New York?
Don't be afraid to advocate for yourself with challenging questions, ideas, or concerns. Also, don't be afraid to show your emotions. Dr. Dondik is capable and handles it all with grace and care.
During treatment, were you treated like a number or a human with Yelena Dondik at NYU Langone Reproductive Specialists of New York?
When she diagnosed me with the last miscarriage, she actually got a little bit teary herself. It showed me that she really cares for me as a woman who is struggling - not just as a name on a chart or as a statistic. Also, during my egg retrieval cycle, there was some frustrating news that came up with my blood work. Dr. Dondik took the time to call me herself and make sure I understood what it meant and my next steps. I felt very respected and seen.
Describe the protocols Yelena Dondik used in your cycles at NYU Langone Reproductive Specialists of New York and their degree of success.
Dr. Dondik had be doing an agonist protocol. It started with birth control for about two weeks. Then I started injections of Gonal-F and Menopur. In my previous cycle, my estrogen level got too high too fast so she started me on a much lower dose. This helped with my estrogen. Over the course of 13 days my doses increased slightly. On my last day of stims, my estrogen jumped from about 2000 to 5500 overnight. She called to tell me that with estrogen that high before a trigger and retrieval, I was at serious risk for OHSS and that we would move this cycle to a freeze all. I appreciated her being so upfront with me so I could prepare myself for a freeze all. Dr. Dondik had be trigger with lupron to help avoid the estrogen spike that would come with an hcg trigger. On the day of retrieval I had 21 eggs retrieved, 17 mature, and ended up with four 5 day blastocysts. One was "good" and the other three were "fair".
Describe your experience with your nurse at NYU Langone Reproductive Specialists of New York. (Assigned nurse: Elena )
Elena is calm, caring, and extremely efficient. At first, she can come off as a little cold and distant. However, when you need her to be there for you she is as warm, kind, and caring as possible. She is supportive of schedules (I am an educator and need early appointments and she does that whenever possible and explains to me when she can't and why). She knows me and my history and is extremely delicate with beta hcg results. She is also good at answering my many questions, calls me back (or sends a portal message) within 24 hours (but almost always the same day), and never minds me taking care of my needs (whatever they may be). I trust her with my information, my medicine, and my treatments whole heartedly.
Describe your experience with NYU Langone Reproductive Specialists of New York.
My clinic is the smaller offshoot office which means it is generally the same staff each and every visit. I love this about the RSNY Brooklyn office. It feels like a family.
Describe the costs associated with your care under Yelena Dondik at NYU Langone Reproductive Specialists of New York.
I have insurance that covers monitoring appointments, some tests (not PGT or sperm fragmentation), and two retrievals (but not transfers). So out of pocket costs for me in total is around 14,000$. This includes diagnostic cycles, three IUI, two retrievals, embryo/embryologists costs (including insemination, freezing, storage), and four transfers.
Describe Yelena Dondik's approach to eSET (elective single embryo transfer) vs. multiple embryo transfer at NYU Langone Reproductive Specialists of New York.
Dr. Dondik recommends one embryo if they are tested and test normal. However, in my two cycles I did not do PGT testing becuase my insurance didn't cover it. My first transfer with her I did one embryo. It resulted in a chemical pregnancy. In my second transfer I transferred two untested embryo. It resulted in a singleton pregnancy that miscarried at around 7 weeks (but it wasn't viable from the first scan at 5 weeks).

I rarely saw Dr. Trivax ... When I told him I would like to have more information because I felt like I was getting misinformation on the internet, specifically I had a question about cervical mucus, he said to me, " you're the kind of patient that if we could remove your head from your body, you'd be pregnant in no time." ... When I finally had the HSG, it showed one partially blocked tube but he had never even checked this.
We had critical problems with billing. They assured us that IVF was completely covered by our insurance. This was incorrect. ... the place [Reproductive Specialists of NY] pretty much runs like clockwork and helps you to miss less work. The nursing staff is always very professional. I appreciate that they are not touchy feely; it's a group of strong women who never honey me but help me keep it together. The only bad experiences I've had is when they have to sub someone in from the Long Island office.
How was your experience with Bradley Trivax at NYU Langone Reproductive Specialists of New York?
Dr. Trivax is very positive. He asked who I would like to deliver my baby with in our first meeting, which might be comforting for some women but was very odd to me. His manner is to focus on the quick and positive outcome of a baby. Very little information was given to me about my diagnosis and so I often turned to the internet. When I told him I would like to have more information because I felt like I was getting misinformation on the internet, specifically I had a question about cervical mucus, he said to me, " you're the kind of patient that if we could remove your head from your body, you'd be pregnant in no time." As a result, I was embarrasses and blamed my inability to get pregnant on overthinking. He asked me to leave things to the experts and not worry about it. After 2 medicated cycles and 5 IUIs, my acupuncturist asked if he had ever ordered an HSG test for me. He had not. I had to demand one. When I finally had the HSG, it showed one partially blocked tube but he had never even checked this. This was the moment that I realized that he was actually not being thorough and that I really began to doubt what was going on and the choices I had made for my care in this overwhelming situation.
What's one piece of advice would you give a prospective patient of Bradley Trivax at NYU Langone Reproductive Specialists of New York?
Advocate for yourself and go with your gut. Make sure to find out what tests you need. A positive attitude is helpful but science is even more helpful.
During treatment, were you treated like a number or a human with Bradley Trivax at NYU Langone Reproductive Specialists of New York?
I rarely saw Dr. Trivax but when I did, he didn't talk specifically about my case but about how I would be pregnant in no time. I mainly saw the nurse and other staff. When I did have the opportunity to ask questions, he was not forthright with explanations and asked me to leave it to the experts.
Describe the protocols Bradley Trivax used in your cycles at NYU Langone Reproductive Specialists of New York and their degree of success.
I wasn't really provided a rationale. He told my husband and myself that our infertility was unexplained when, in fact, I have diminished ovarian reserve. So we started with medicated cycles and then moved on to IUIs since that was what our insurance covered. When he left the practice, he told me that my eggs are too hard for the sperm to penetrate. However, since I have never had an IVF procedure, this was entirely speculative.
Describe your experience with your nurse at NYU Langone Reproductive Specialists of New York. (Assigned nurse: Elena)
The nurse who runs the show is Elena and she is direct but kind. I have confidence in her. Merle does ultrasounds and is the reason I stayed even when I started having doubts because she is a charming and professional person who makes a very invasive experience one that I can handle. Laverne is the nurse who takes blood and is always nice to chat to. She always manages to get my blood despite my small veins. This team kept me at the clinic because they do the lion's share of the work and I knew I was lucky to have them.
Describe your experience with NYU Langone Reproductive Specialists of New York.
They have babies everywhere in here: the magazines, advertisements, etc. I wish it was a better environment in the waiting room, bu those waiting rooms are treacherous places. However, the place pretty much runs like clockwork and helps you to miss less work. The nursing staff is always very professional. I appreciate that they are not touchy feely; it's a group of strong women who never honey me but help me keep it together. The only bad experiences I've had is when they have to sub someone in from the Long Island office.
Describe the costs associated with your care under Bradley Trivax at NYU Langone Reproductive Specialists of New York.
Our insurance, because of NY State mandate, covered most of our expenses.
What specific things went wrong at NYU Langone Reproductive Specialists of New York?

Describe the specific things that went wrong at NYU Langone Reproductive Specialists of New York.
We had critical problems with billing. They assured us that IVF was completely covered by our insurance. This was incorrect. Even when I called to tell them that I believed they were wrong, they convinced me that I was mistaken. We thankfully realized the error was on their part as we were beginning an IVF cycle, which we then transitioned to IUI. Naturally, we were heartbroken by this confusion. The nursing staff was very apologetic but it seemed like an error that their billing department should be better skilled at given what is at stake for people. For the first 9 months we never received a correct bill and this was very stressful.

Each time Dr. Trivax was in the office and I had an ultrasound (not just blood work), we met to discuss my treatment... He's incredibly knowledgable and helped me to ovulate (I have PCOS) and instilled confidence I would conceive (but unfortunately had 4 failed IUIs)... it would have been nice to see him more than I did. The RSNY Brooklyn office is convenient to where I live, however it became clear early on that the Mineola office is RSNY's priority. (Dr. Trivax is in Brooklyn maybe a little more than half the week.)

How was your experience with Bradley Trivax at NYU Langone Reproductive Specialists of New York?
I had a great experience with Dr. Trivax and the Brooklyn office overall. He's quite laid back and performs his job in a no BS way, which I appreciated. Due to my insurance coverage, Dr. Trivax prescribed Clomid, trigger shot to ovulate and IUI each of the 4 times. (I elected to not do the IUI, but timed intercourse, for one of the 4 times.)
Describe your experience with your nurse at NYU Langone Reproductive Specialists of New York. (Assigned nurse: Elana)
Elana definitely is good at her job although she can be somewhat short and abrupt. She's all business and keeps the office moving efficiently.
Describe your experience with NYU Langone Reproductive Specialists of New York.
It's important to know that the Brooklyn office is a satellite location for RSNY with the Long Island locations are the primary focus where most procedures occur. I had to travel to Mineola on Monday morning for an IUI because there was no doctor available for my IUI in Brooklyn and there was always a possibility of needing to go to Mineola for treatment. This increased stress levels considerably.
Describe the costs associated with your care under Bradley Trivax at NYU Langone Reproductive Specialists of New York.
My insurance covered 100% of treatment with a $50 copay each visit.

He [Dr. Trivax] is kind and warm and funny. He is positive and easy going. I enjoy him as a person and as a doctor he was thorough, knowledgeable and on top of my case. I did 4 IUI's and then one cycle of IVF with him and I am now 3 months pregnant with my first! He was amazing throughout the whole process and I'm so grateful that I stuck with him for the IVF even after failed IUI's...
They [Repro Specialists of NY Brooklyn] are small so they pay more attention, always call you back and are easy to work with overall. I worked with a larger clinic that didn't pay any attention or know your name, so this place was great compared to that...She [nurse] is blunt, which can occasionally rub someone the wrong way, but I thought she was a great nurse, one of the best in the center. She remembers details really well and always knew my name and everything about my case. She was quick to get back to me with good information...

with IUI I only paid copays. Testing was the same. Once we moved on to IVF we were very lucky to get a NYS grant for financial assistance. It was the only way we were able to make IVF happen. They processed our application quickly and without delay. I am so grateful to RS for making that happen for us! After the grant we paid a small portion of IVF cost and elective genetic testing on the embryos- about 8 grand.

Dr Trivax is patient and encouraging, regardless of how frustrated or disappointed I became due to failed cycles. I would highly recommend him. My only objection was the fact that I endured four miscarriages prior to him implementing a medication regimen of progesterone, steroids, round of antibiotics and Lovenox in order to prevent another miscarriage.
Clients [at Reproductive Specialists of New York] can be seen early morning, prior to work. The only complaint I have about the clinic is Dr. Bray's bedside manner. We ended up switching doctors from Dr. Bray to Dr. Trivax, halfway through treatments....I LOVE the staff here. From Michelle, office biller/manager, to Alina (sp?), head nurse, to Stacy and the ultrasound nurse, everyone was friendly, welcoming and incredibly supportive, especially when the tears started to flow. :)

Ask ALL of your questions; none are stupid or irrelevant. Don't be afraid to advocate for yourself.

Dr. Trivax took his time to listen to my concerns and anxieties. He was also patient in answering my questions. Despite my feeling discouraged at times, he remained positive that our treatments would result in a positive pregnancy test and that I would carry to term.
Describe the protocols Bradley Trivax used in your cycles at NYU Langone Reproductive Specialists of New York and their degree of success.
I used Clomid for my first treatment cycle with Dr. Trivax (not my first treatment cycle). This resulted in positive pregnancy test and a miscarriage (chemical pregnancy-don't like that term) at 5w6days. The 2nd treatment cycle, the next month was non-medicated (no Clomid). Steroid and round of antibiotic started day of IUI procedure. Vaginal progesterone suppositories started two days after IUI. Lovenox started at first confirmed pregnancy blood test, two weeks post IUI.

I had a huge deductible to meet prior to insurance covering our IUI treatments, so my cost is likely more than others if you'v met your deductible or have a low deductible.

Ask questions and express any concerns. She [Dr. Mary Bray] takes concerns very seriously and wants to know if you're having a hard time emotionally. She will also make a significant effort to make sure you fully understand and are comfortable. She is cut and dry, which I can see would turn off some people, but it was her frankness that helped me make good informed decisions about my treatment.
The availability of early appointments [at Reproductive Specialists of New York] is great but it was annoying to trek to mineola for any necessary weekend appointments or transfers and retrievals. Lucily that didn't happen too often. They put in effort to communicate with your insurance agency and make everything as simple as possible...Dr. Bray is knowledgeable, up to date on research, and uses evidenced based medicine. She is obviously passionately engaged in her field. She adjusted my cycles quickly when unexpected things happened and was adaptable. I felt that she was the first doctor to accurately represent what my chances were for each cycle, all the while still being hopeful.

While Dr. Bray does not have a particularly touchy Feely manner she obviously cares about her patients, their success and we'll being. She made decision factors very clear but always respected your decision. I greatly appreciated the candor because I knew I could trust her and she wasn't just trying to make money off me or make me "feel better". She answers questions thoroughly as well and will take the time to explain and re-explain without trying to kick you out of the office.

We had to do a certain number of IUI cycles before insurance would cover IVF. I took a low dose of Femara to stimulate egg production each cycle which worked but I did not become pregnant. She informed us earlier that due to my diagnosis, IVF would most likely be the successful treatment. I did one egg retreval with injectables menapur, gonal f, and ganarelix. I was also put on estrogen and projesterone. The third egg transfer was successful with a natural cycle as I ovulated on my own and responded unpredictably to the estrogen.
